guts

It is interesting when you get a fresh perspective of yourself from a new acquaintance. Even at this reasonably accomplished age, I am still able to find myself anew.

Recently, I have been fortunate to gain the friendship of an interesting character. A smart, quick-witted, young “old chap” of a guy whose creativity and open-minded ideals speak volumes for his generation. At his age I was not nearly as wise, worldly, cultured, present, or relevant as he is. Even now his intellect far exceeds my own, and his ability to perceive others astounds me. He is very deliberate with his words, often taking what seems to me to be far too long to respond to my often off-kilter banter. But always following his reflection, he delivers an astute, provocative discourse on whatever topic I had mindlessly rambled into. Seriously, the guy can talk me under the table…and that is saying something.

And I must admit he is a bit off, as well. Regardless, or perhaps in spite of those facts, I find him very interesting.

As it goes with most new friendships there is the crush period. The time where everything about the new friend is fascinating and we often try to find a bit of ourselves in our new pal. And so my new friend has attempted to find fascination in me, and has asked for the privilege (his term, not mine) of reading some of my writing. I initially waved him off, figured he would find what he wanted or give up. But, after the third very polite request, I obliged.

It is strange; I can write for an unknown audience without fear. I can put it out there for the world to read, all of it…without a second thought. Yet when I directly hand over a few poems to my new friend, I am paralyzed.

As I said, my new friend is very perceptive. So, when I stuffed a few of my poems in his hand and continued on about the weather, he immediately detected my insecurity. He saw in my rushed speech and downcast eyes that I was nervous. And while I waited for him to speak, to interrupt my prattle, I reeled. He placed the pages face down on the table, then said “Ah yes, I see I was correct. You are an exhibitionist and shy, both.”

Which really put me to thought…what purpose am I serving with these characteristics, if characteristics do in fact serve us?

I suppose that those opposing characteristics, that in my case are so apparently extreme, benefit each other. I can only imagine that my unchecked exhibitionism would undoubtedly lead me to my depraved end, and that my need to slap the world in the face keeps me from becoming a total shut-in.

p.s. what you got in you; what it takes.

How do you say obvious in Welsh Welshie?

Why the juvenile games?

I had a dream about dickweed last night. I felt so bad for him when he was made fun of and mocked. When he was stalked to his blog and harassed there. I just wanted to give him a hug to make him feel a teeny weeny bit better.

In my dream I did give him a hug and more. it was hot.

If anyone still speaks to dickweed would you please tell him anonymous said
oh baby. Come let mamma comfort you again.

This shit is ridiculous.

It's I had a dream day at Mayo's.

Everybody make up a dream and play along.

Don't forget the vivid details.

(I didn't know Smoke had a golf cart. Nice dream detail. When did she get it?)

Anonymous said...

Welsh anon. Don't let those comments bother you. You didn't say anything wrong. You said what you feel. Sometimes people here harass you for who you like and that is why many are gone. I also like Smoke and Solly as they were nothing but good people.

Well Holy Shit, it's pick on Welshie day! Anon I did dream about them last night and yes Smoke was driving her golf cart. Whether she has one in real life is irrelevant. It was a dream for god's sake, you can drive whatever the hell you want in a dream. Good god I might dream that I was in a spaceship full of Anons. Oh bloody hell I'll be too scared to go to sleep tonight. NOT.
And for your information I have no interest in playing any games, juvenile or not.

Anon @ 8.36 thank you but their comments don't bother me. I've had far worse said in real life. Water off a duck's back mate, water off a duck's back!!!!!!

Anon, please give yourself a name. I might be a wimp but I'll always post under my name whether people like what I say or not.

I'm off to watch some darts.

Now, 11.45 AM, let's talk.

Firstly, the only people that bring up Amy's "Fix" anymore are people like you, who didn't like it. That's fine, that's your opinion, but please don't try to make it the Armageddon of Mayo's.

Secondly, Elena wasn't being bitchy the other night. She asked what was essentially a joking, teasing kind of question. She meant nothing by it.

Thirdly, as I'm sure you know, I invite SS outside to look at the stars sometimes--and to talk. We 'share a blanket' in order to sit on the grass. Grass gets wet. Therefore, the 'damp blanket' reference. Sorry, but there aren't any 'baby, wet my blanket' innuendos implied.

IS SS married? He's never said. And I believe that if he was, he would've asked me a long time ago to refrain from any comments that might not be appropriate. As a friend, I would have respected his request. But he's never told me he doesn't like the way I write to him, so I don't see the problem.

As a matter of fact, you anons are the only ones with the problem. Why does it torture your soul so for me to flirt with SS? Is it because I'm *gasp* so OLD? Or is it because I'm a "curvy girl"? Please tell me.

Post for me, please, any comment of mine that actually says "I know SS is Frank." Any comment you can find. At all. True, in the beginning, WE ALL thought SS was Frank and Mayo was Gerard. But that was a year and a half ago, and things have changed.

And why on Earth would I hate Jamia? I don't know the girl. I couldn't tell you one thing about her, as a matter of fact. I think I've only ever made one comment about her on Mayo's, and it wasn't ugly at all. So, again, I say produce the comments.

One point I must insist on: stop lumping me and L together. There are TWO Punks. I--and that's J--am the only one your arguments are with. L is NOT to be pointed at for ANYthing I say, have said, or will say.

If you care to pay attention, the games, quotes, and (occasional) poems still show up. Family Guy was hot there for a while. X-Files, still around. We've gotten full-fledged movie reviews a few times. Nothing's been "censored". As for me "constantly trying to get SS to do things", I write him a goodnight most every night. The rest of the time, I'm hardly ever here. How much have you seen me since, oh, November? Not very much. I hang out at DW's.

Oh, BTW, thanks for the picture you left at my blog. It's still there. The only things I delete are nasty, demeaning, false comments about me or my friends.

Not going to talk about this anymore. If you have a problem with me, you talk to me on an email, with a name attaced to it.

Who I talk to, and how I talk to them, is my business. Remember that.

Drop it.

's better to have it looked at than to lose sleep over it so, yay. ^_^

You know, I'm just staying away from Mayo's because you know how certain people tend to accuse me of things when I've been gone for a while, also because they don't need any ghetto biatches over there. ;D Heehee. And anyway, I really don't need that nonsense right now so, yeah! I just wanted to tell you all that everything is dandy and where it should be. ^_^

I hope you guys all had a wonderful holiday.

Peace, health, joy and good fortune to all in '09! And a little prosperity wouldn't hurt either. :)

"CERTAIN PEOPLE"??? Why do you have to start trouble? I wonder who those CERTAIN PEOPLE could be.

And it was AMY who called you a beeatch yet you constantly make fun of the fact and you keep repeating it just to get her mad again.

You KEEP asking for this.

Wish I were with you

Every direction
Leads me away
Pray for tomorrow
But for today

All I want is to be home

Stand in the mirror
You look the same
Just lookin' for shelter
From cold and the pain
Someone to cover
Safe from the rain

All I want is to be home

Patience and grace
All of these moments
I'll never replace
No fear of my heart
Absence of faith

All I want is to be home

All I want is to be home

People I've loved
I have no regrets
Some I remember
Some I forget
Some of them living
Some of them dead

All I want is to be home

I dunno why, but there you go, Mayo.

I was replaced.

Traded in.

No longer needed.

I'm told that it happens often with friendships at my age.

But I feel betrayed all the same.

We were friends for quite awhile.

But when I really think about it, it's probably in the best interest of my mental health that it ended.

Our only common factor was a sick (honestly) obsession with the same man.

We were just as fucked up as each other.

I think that's why it killed me so much.

Can anyone guess who this was? LOL!

Anonymous said...

No Welshie. Not all because you had a dream.

There are so many people who left this place. By choice. For various reasons. So many who are missed. Do you know their names? All of their names.

Do you remember all of them and what each one of them brought to this place? Do you remember how so many were mistreated, disrespected and had their feelings and opinions stamped invalid & worthless? Do you remember how anons were cornered, questioned and made to feel like no ones?

Do you remember the double standards and hypocrisy?

I do.

Did you really read the comments from last January 1? Really read them?

anon @ 3.37 I do no wear a mask. You all know who I am. I am Welshie. Who do you think I am anon?

Welsh anon said...

Anon @ 3.29. I do remember people who have left Mayo's. CTV, DEI GRATIA, FASC, RW. and her googly eyes, OPL, OPJ, MAGIC PIE, PIXIE, FIMBLE, MUSTARD, MYA, PJ, KAPUNUA, GNOTHI,ANDREA, I could go on. If I had dreamt about any of them last night then I would've mentioned it here, but it just so happens that I dreamt about Solly and Smoke and it brought back memories.

You know all the names and nicknames yet you're so new here & don't know about all the happenings. You're in the dark about all of that. Interesting.

When did you make your 1st post Welshie? I'd like to go back and read about how new you are & how little you know about this place & the people here.

Welsh anon said...

I've never said that I'm new anon @ 4.21. In fact I've said that I've lurked from the very beginning i.e. back in September 2007. My first comment was on the 31st October 2009 when I wished Frank a Happy Birthday in welsh of course! Whether you believe me or not is up to you.

I have answered your question anon now please answer me this, Why do you hate me and who do you think I am?

Anonymous said...

Do you think everybody who questions you hates you? Do you throw that word around very much?

Who do I think you are? Why you're Welshie. The anon from Wales. Everybody knows that.

Welsh anon said...

Well if you don't hate me anon @ 4.30 it sure doesn't sound as if you like me very much, why is that?

I have said that I'm in the dark about things that have happened OFF this blog.

Well you know that I'm Welshie so I'll ask again who are you? Please give your name so I can address you.

Welsh anon said...

^This is addressed to anon @ 4.45

Welsh, I think the anon that is questioning you might think you are a porchie. You brought up the name Smoke and Solly ( heaven forbid) LOL. Anyone liking a porchie gets the third degree. In other words,if you like a porchie you MUST secretly be a porchie! ^_~

Seriously though,i miss alot of people that used to come here. I like they one's that left and the one's that are still here. Alot of bad feelings go all around, but what a ride it has been. Welsh anon, ask yourself this. Do you hang out at the "new" porch? Do you know where they are now? Did you get the invitation there?

Because Seven's has always been open. No secrets. No closed blogs. No "special clubs" and no "members only". No secret identities. Just friends getting together, STAYING together, helping each other, talking. Through the good times. And the bad.

I would even bet that they would accept Kapunua over there if she would go in humbly and apologize to all of them.

Not that it is likely to happen but I think they would. They have GRACE.

So tell me, Welsh anon. Are you part of the new "secret porch"?

not bad thanks :]

yes we got about halfway, it's the railing on the front deck, it's so old and sort of crumbling pale green paint, so now it shall be burnt amber, and I have a yellowy ochery colour to do the floor, when it's properly sunny

how are you?

toujours said...

ooh, that will look very nice! you like those rich colors, don't you?

i'm doing good -- watching lotr always leaves me feeling energized and satisfied. :)

ergoproxy said...

they are good movies, I should watch them again, I have the dvd set

I do like those colours they are the colours of the outback, very warm and go well with wood and terracotta and also have the asian feel I like to decorate with, Indonesian/Thai style
The colours of nature appeal to me more than the more modern, sleek looks

toujours said...

i have the set, too -- but it's in storage. one of the cable channels here is playing the trilogy over three nights, though, so i thought i would make that my evening's entertainment this weekend. :)

i think the colors you use work very well. every interior pic you've shared has had such a comfortable feel to it, very homey without being closed in.

good job! :D

ergoproxy said...

thank you!

a channel is showing the movies ere too, well one of them at least I saw it advertised, might have been friday night.
I enjoyed them, though I could really have kicked Frodo a few times to stop him gazing all off into the distance in deep tormented thoughts. That was the only thing that annoyed me

i always get a michael landon vibe off of frodo, actually. he does that about-to-weep face perfectly.

the king of rohan theoden is the one that i always want to smack upside the head. i mean, dude, i know you were under a spell for a bunch of years or whatever, but holy crap, stop being such a downer!

he dies well, though.

hahaha

well as long as he dies well we can forgive him!

i'm going to head to bed now -- i snuck outside for a bit to look at the moon. it was weird, the sky was clear up high, but overcast lower, so you couldn't really see many stars, but the moon was making everything bright. kinda spooky, and beautiful.

talk to you later, ergo -- hope you get some more sun so you can finish your painting chores!

sweet dreams when you get to them. :)

(motions for Mayo to come over)

Mayo, can we talk privately for a few minutes?

You know it is o.k. for you to ask the last few of your party guests to leave.

It's not rude to tell those last few guests that the party's over. It's o.k. to tell them that you are tired and want to clean up and go to bed.

It's not impolite for you to walk over to the coat room, get their coats & umbrellas, hand the coats & gear to them, walk to front door, open the door for them and thank them for coming.

It's perfectly acceptable to do those things. If they are your friends or just friendly acquaintances they will understand and thank you for having them.

It's o.k to turn on the no vacancy lights.

It's o.k. to flip that open sign in the window to the side that says closed.

If and when you're ready to do those things
it will be alright.

Knock, knock, helloo! Can I come in?
and before anyone says it, no, I didn't dream last night, well I probably did but I don't remember it. Thank goodness eh?

I can't believe the whole kerfuffle here last night.
'How long have you been lurking?'
'Are you a spy?'
'When did you first comment?'
How do you know all the previous bloggers?'
'What colour knickers are you wearing?'
Talk Welshie, TALK!

Well I know I'm making a joke out of it but to be honest I'm quite sad and it reminded me of an incident in my family. (Oh god here she goes.)

My mam was the eldest of five children. She had three brothers and one sister. Well there was a HUGE row between her sister and one of her brothers. We all live within five miles of each other so they couldn't really avoid each other. All of us cousins went to the same school. I adored my cousins but if I spoke to one set of cousins then I'd get nasty looks by the other set. My dear old mam used to say "Don't worry bach, speak to who you want, you've done nothing wrong. It's their problem, let them sort it out". This went on for YEARS! You were made to feel a bloody traitor and it felt awful. Weddings and funerals were a nightmare, trying to keep them all apart.

Well this all came to an end a couple of years ago at one of my cousin's funeral. Rhian (My aunt's daughter) had been ill for a long time. She was an absolute hoot, always playing practical jokes on people. She had a seven year old son who she adored.

I was sitting in the chapel when my cousin Gwyn (my uncle's son) came and sat next to me. We then went to the cemetery where poor Gwyn broke down uncontrollably. He kept saying that he never got a chance to get to know Rhian. I felt so bloody sorry for him. Like he said it was his father and aunt's quarrel, the children shouldn't have been brought into it. It still upsets me now to think about it.
Things are better now, not perfect by any means, but better.

Before anyone points out the obvious (amlwg, anon), yes it does remind me of this blog and yes it is a bloody shame that you're made to feel guilty for speaking to someone that other people don't like. So I've decided to take my mam's advice "Don't worry bach, speak to who you want, you've done nothing wrong. It's their problem, let them sort it out".

Speak to you all soon

Take care

Reason, Season and Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need
you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part
or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered
and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON,
it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
those things you must build upon
in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person/people (anyway);
and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

The albums' slow fade

As fans increasingly cherry-pick their favorite tracks online, the music industry looks to shorter records for salvation
By Ricardo Baca
Denver Post Pop Music Critic
Posted: 01/03/2010 01:00:00 AM MST

The full-length album used to be king of the mountain. But now major labels are learning that shorter may be better.

EPs — originally extended-play "single" releases that are shorter than traditional albums — have long been popular with punk and indie bands. But some industry insiders predict that major-label acts will follow the lead of artists like Lady Gaga, who released "The Fame Monster" EP in November, and watched it soar.

Why? Consumers' buying habits are evolving faster than the arrival of the latest iTunes software upgrade, and the industry's big players are being forced to adapt.

Imagine a wonky world where Susan Boyle releases her music via digital-only singles while My Chemical Romance puts out three EPs in place of a full-length record. While U2, Green Day and others of their stature will likely stay strong on the full-length CD train, others — maybe T.I., Kelly Clarkson or the All American Rejects — might resort to releasing shorter records.

Those are just hypotheticals, but music-biz leaders noticed when "The Fame Monster" peaked on the Billboard charts at No. 5.

Surely, the full-length record isn't dead. But it's clearly ailing.

"If people want their music in a box, you don't give it to them in a suitcase," said Ryan Tedder, the Denver-based frontman for OneRepublic and a prominent pop songwriter and producer. "Some big artists will be putting out singles or EPs this coming year, and it's all about them trying to meet their fans where they're at."

Morning Blog

I'm really getting tired of the weather people being right. They said we were gonna get a more snow and boy we're they right. It snowed all night and it is still snowing.

This weather is however good for staying in and watching movies. Last night we watched Family Guy's "Something Something Dark Side". I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Maybe it's cause I love Star Wars so much. Don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet but my favorite part is when they are getting ready to encase Han in carbonite (the secene where Leia tells him she loves him) When "Han" answers I totally rolled off the sofa laughing.

Think I'm going to watch it again with the commentary.

Well have a great day everyone.

Mayo, I want my damn ham. LOL

Considering that you view all that has occured here on this blog, since Mayo first began as 'a party,' I'm guessing you personally Anon, are not emotionally invested like some of the bloggers here, or gone. I find your callus regard for that emotional investment people have in Mayo, and his or her well-being, life, and the like; really damn tacky. Many words have been spoken. Many things have gone down. To imply that none of that, good or bad, means anything more than a mere 'good (but now gone) time,' suggests to me that you, Anon, really don't care as much for "Mayo" as many of the other people (past and present) still do. In fact, it says to me that you Anon, could give a shit. And are personally only out for a 'good time' yourself.

It is up to Mayo when to end this. But I hope whomever that blogger is, that they have more regard for the people that care about them, than some hearltess Anon looking for some 'fun.' Good day to you.

Also, if it does mean that much to you, leave the damn house once in a while and go to a real party.

4:48,

Good day to you.

I would like to ask you a couple of questions now.

1) Have you noticed all the red on the walls lately? That Account Inactive hanging in all the rooms for about 2 weeks?

2) Have you heard of an analogy?

Yes, this is Mayo's blog and the decision to hang the closed sign in the window will be his.

If feeling Mayo has the right to close his blog when and if he's ready without feeling guilty or feeling as though he's disappointed or let people down is heartless, then heartless I am & will be.

I have 1 more question for you if you would be kind enough to answer.

Does seeing the writing on the wall make me heartless & selfish or does not seeing it make the person who doesn't heartless & selfish?

I think it's neither.

Anonymous said...

I'd like to point out that it's not fair to use emotional blackmail to try and convince Mayo to keep this place going if his heart isn't in it. It wouldn't be healthy for him and it wouldn't be healthy for the people who are so "emotionally invested" in this place.

If he's only keeping it open out of a halfhearted sense of obligation, then nobody is going to get much out of it.

If he needs to move on, the best thing people here can do is to let him go.

hi ergo, sorry about that! i was on a commercial break when i commented before...movie just ended now.

such a good movie.

anyway, my day was nice! how was yours?

ergoproxy said...

what movie is it?

my day was good thanks, sun is mostly out again so that is nice

did you see the photo I took for you after we talked about the fireworks?

toujours said...

the last of the lotr trilogy. i don't know how long it is normally, but with the commercial, it stretched out to 4 1/2 hours! holy moly.

i did see the pic ergo! i'm so bad about remembering to comment on stuff though. :(

i loved it! trust you to actually have some sparklers on hand. lol

ergoproxy said...

oh of course, I forgot you were watching that, *duh*

and yep, I almost always have sparklers, they are better than candles on a cake
and they are just fun, at night (as long as you aren't near flammable things outside) they look really cool if you throw them up in the air

I was quite impressed the pic turned out, 10 sec exposure, and I had to write backwards
Now I know it works I might do it again sometime with BG

toujours said...

i always wondered how thse pictures were taken; you see them on flickr alot.

here's my confession, though: when i was a kid, you couldn't get me to hold a sparkler if you bribed me or threatened me! i think i remember holding one only once, with extreme dubiousness, at arm and fingertip's length. i didn't trust them!

ergoproxy said...

I can understand that, they do look pretty scary, and the metal bit gets really hot after they go out

toujours said...

it was all those sparks, who knew where they were going to go???

so did you get a chance to finish your painting today, or did the sun run and hide behind rain clouds?

ergoproxy said...

I actually finished it yesterday late afternoon, I have to let it dry before I recoat as it's enamel (and I ran out of turpentine to clean the brushes) so I'll do more tomorrow
It looks a lot better, though it isn't a careful job as it's going to be demolished eventually, more just cosmetic
I am very happy with the colour

hows the weather over there, I know elena is pretty much snowed in

toujours said...

they say that painting a room or a feature is the easiest way to give an uplift, color changes so much. glad you got it done!

we're in a cold snap, but no snow. :(

my mom is keeping her fingers crossed that we get through this month without an ice storm like last year's. i say we should buy candles as if we know we will have one. lol

ergoproxy said...

well can't hurt to be prepared, I remember the ice storm you got last year that was a doosey!

toujours said...

it was!

what's amazing is that even with all the damage the trees suffered, some of them have grown so much! the maple out front has maybe three ft. of new growth, all up on top, in just one season!

ergoproxy said...

wow you'd think the ice would really damage them, I suppose they ahve adaptations

we got a black frost here the other year and it killed our avocado tree, just killed it stone dead, it wasn't huge but it wasn't tiny either

toujours said...

some of the trees won't recover; if they lose more than 50% of their limbs they can't grow enough back in a season to survive. but the maple is one of the big trees on the property, so although it suffered alot of damage, and lost alot of limbs, it was never more than about 20%.

it's amazing though, how many have kept on growing!

ergoproxy said...

they go dormant don't they? lose their leaves? Bit yeah too much damage and they'd have no energy store

we don't get maples this far north, you can buy ornamental asian ones but not the proper tree ones

ergoproxy said...

Bit = but

toujours said...

they do, and it's fortunate that they were asleep when the storm happened, as it didn't interrupt their growing season. the ones that could recover were able to put out a ton of new growth.

there are some that are just "wait & see". it's too soon to tell if they have enough limbs to make a go of it, or if they will slowly starve.

it was weird, though -- when the trees started to lose their leaves this year, it was a shock. the summer foliage had been thick enough to hide alot of the damage, and seeing it again was startling.

it was quite a devastating storm, actually. nothing on the level of katrina or the southeast asian tsunami, but it will take a long time to erase the marks of the ice storm, that's for sure.

and oh my god! do my folks watch too much weather channel or what? i have absorbed way too much information about storms and storm damage!!

ergoproxy said...

hahaha too much weather channel does that to people!!

I tell you I constantly check our weather radar if I know storms or anything are coming

but though it's not of a scale of some other weather disasters, it is still a shock to see the damage that something you think is fairly harmless can actually do, and on a smaller scale can really alter an environment

ergoproxy said...

and so it's not all my fault again,... isn't it a bit past your bedtime TJ?

toujours said...

lol, very much so, ergo! and it isn't just that i'm sitting here on the computer either...i stepped away from the computer for just a minute and got distracted by the books i have out from the library.

i'm afraid i'm easily led astray. :)

but! i am definitely heading to bed now!

Hiya Welsh anon. I am with you, although I love the Beatles, I love Queen more. Maybe it's cos Freddie looked just like my dad. My dad had a tache too cos he didn't like his teeth even though there was nothing wrong woth them.

We always used to listen to Queen in the car and I knew all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody before I was five.

So, did everyone have fun at new years? Mayo? SS? Anyone?

LOL we know how to party. I had a bath, mum fell asleep in front of the tv. At ten to twelve, we went upstairs to look at the fireworks out the window (we can see over to the other side of town where they have a big display at Don Valley Stadium). There were lots of Chinese lanterns this year that you don't usually see. It baffled us at first cos they travel at some speed and mum first thought they were planes or helicopters but the lights weren't right. Then she freaked that they were UFO's and the aliens were coming. It took ages to convince her otherwise, she said she wanted to die if there was an invasion cos she didn't want to live in the aftermath. She even put the tv on to see if there was anything on the news. I had a stupid moment then cos I was still looking out the window and went "wooo that one lit up the room", but it was the tv hhahahah!

I hadn't been drinking and mum had only had one glass of wine so it wasn't drunkeness but sheer stupidity hahahah!

I don't know about fantabulous, but I got new front tyres on my car and while it was happening I walked around with Bg, we had lunch at a little cafe (and I had one of their divine iced coffees) but I did find (yes I had to check the thrift store) a really nifty red and red tartan brand new handbag for $8, when I got home I looked up the name as it looked really well made and it's a designer here and they sell for a LOT more, so chalk up another for my bargain hunting-fu :]

oh i hate when that happens! the library here sends out a note when a book you have on hold is available. they give you seven days to pick it up but it take the mail 3 days to deliver the thing!

well, i hope you like it when you do get a chance to read it. :)

here's the thing -- i've gotten into the habit of staying up late during this holiday break, and it's going to kill me when i have to get up at my usual time to go to work on thursday! so i'm going to say good night and kick myself off the blog!

talk to you later ergo, have a good day and a good night!

mayo,

well, i've written this good night about three or four times now. i think i'll blame mercury being in retrograde for my lack of skill, and save you from having to read any of my feeble, clunky efforts.

rambles i'll subject you to, but clunky writing, never! (well, so i hope! don't tell me if i'm mistaken, ok?)

*grin*

anyway, i hope you're doing well, hope this year is a happy one for you already, and hope you're having a good night.

take care, mayo, and sweet dreams.
