Best Dressed Death

The Millers

I am reminded of the man at the bar
Who has forgotten who his kids are.
There, swallowing tequila straight
Same call as every night his fate.
To me, he blames it on the whore
Claims she pushed him out the door,
But he can’t provide the reason why.
And, I am certain she would deny
His musings to me this late hour.
They are causing my gut to sour.
But, that is how he believes it to be.
He says he won’t go back, you see
That he’s still in Rye, there living.
Only now, looking in me to find forgiving.
He says he’s certain they will find
She has lost her fucking mind.
And, it is only himself he’s hurting
While hiding behind his convertible curtain,
To save him from his mirrored face.
He won’t look across and find disgrace,
Instead sets his eyes on the last of the bottle.
All of his duplicitous life he’s set to throttle
In a dull thudded break of dawn.
His head heavy under his crown,
He buries each night, repeated.
The music, he says she cheated.
If only the radio had played that night,
There would be nothing, nothing right.

Hi Ergo.

I hate youtube. Why do they block things in certain countries. :(

Maybe you can watch the video here?

I mainly just wanted people to be able to listen to the song though. You can hear it on Jimmy's myspce. Link. It's Bring You Home, the live version.

I haven't spoken to Welshie in such a long time. She may already know about the album, but just in case she doesn't I wanted her to hear some tracks from it. I'm sure she'll enjoy it. :)

Good morning and a very happy 10~10~10 or X~X~X and Internat'l Zombie day to Mayo, Elena, Amy, MissT, Ergo, 5:45, Welshie, :), SS, Possum, Mya, dancers, wavers, singers, lovers of autumn beauty, all my fellow WHO DATS (who I am sure will be glued to their TVs today watching the SAINTS versus the Cardinals game ~ whilst sticking pins in their little red birdie dollies. Little red birdies can't fly with injured wings. *wink*)... everyone!!!

How are you all, today? Well, good and ache free, I hope!

In honor of International Zombie day:

~~~I walked with ONE... or two... or three~~~
But, only on Wednesdays!
:P
You know, all those people out there who THOUGHT they waited a long time for a new MCR album must not be MURDERDOLLs fans.
Eight years, people! EIGHT fricken YEARS!!!
Okay, so Joey has been a little busy with that "Slipknot" thing and Wednesday has been a little busy doing his "Wednesday" things...
but, EIGHT years!!!! Oh, and it was SO worth the wait!
I mean, there are only so many bands out there that can do that whole "Horror Rock/Punk/Metal" thing as well as they can!
Let's see... Rob Zombie, The Misfits, MURDERDOLLS!!!!
Elena: That "bad boy" of yours just gets more adorable with every picture I see of him! I bet he does miss running all around the farm with Jake.
Poor Diego! Just let him know that Jake will back to running him ragged soon!!!
And, I love those matching hats. You know how I love my hats!
Ergo: What's not to LOVE about October? (Well, there IS actually something I don't love about the month; but, I've found keeping busy and having things to look forward to on those "anniversaries" help!) And, this year I have OZZY to look forward to on that "anniversary".
My brother would have loved to see Ozzy in concert and I know I'll feel him with me on that day. Afterall, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't feel the presence of my brother (or my dad for that matter).
Nope, not one. Not one day that I don't miss actually being able to see them or hear them and hug them just one more time either...
Tricky time of year.
And, on that "tricky" note, I really should be off (before I get too sentimental).
Enjoy the day, everyone!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
I just didn't think it was fair for the Zombies to have a special day when werewolves have been around for so much longer!
But, now I think it may be more important to get some help for Grover! What has Cookie Monster been baking in those cookies???!
Where's Elmo? Is he too busy being tickled by God knows whom?
Where's Oscar? Is his lid on too tight?
Did Big Bird fly South for the winter, already?
Carrie, I was so sorry to read about your friend's dad. It's good to see you back here though. I hope he's on the mend sweetie. Don't beat yourself up about feeling angry that he survivied where you dad didn't, I still feel that way about people.
Or I guess it could be
(c) me being a clumsy idiot.
LOL Welshie, I'm guessing C. Seriously though, I hope you are OK sweetie.
I saw the weirdest thing the other day. This bloke had a wasp on his back. The wasp had a HUGE spiders leg in it's mouth and was chowing down on it. Then it started flying towards me still with the HUGE leg (did I mention it was HUGE) in it's mouth. Well, I'm not usually bothered by wasps, I do the standing still till it's gone technique but this time I squealed and ran off.
Well, off for a bath now, take care everyone.
Howdy everyone
Hey, thanks to all who commented on my pic with Flighty. I’m not quite sure where I’ll wear my hat because I’m really not much of a hat person but damn Target had marked them down to $3.34 each so we just had to buy them!
Ergo I had to look up the Bathurst 1000. Glad I did, what fun!
Amy I think you should totally get matching white fedoras for the ladies in the bridal party. Good to see ya here and I hope to one day soon chat with you.
Wendy – Diego is a cutie but he’s a little devil. He really likes to stand on his hind legs and hug. Not bad when the weather is nice but when his paws are all wet? Not so good. Don’t know if you saw but my team lost today. But it’s okay they’ll win next time. Go Chiefs!
MissT it was great to see you here too. I’ve missed you. Hope things are going well for you.
Welshie hope you are feeling okay.
Well I spent the day with mom (yes we went to the grocery store and you know what that means) LOL So now I have to get caught up on my work before 7 PM That’s when HDNet is showing The Black Parade is Dead. Yeah, I’ve seen it a few times but I like watching concerts on the HD channel.
If I don’t get back here again tonight – Have a great night everyone. Take care.
So paranoid. . .
Looking so sorry that I'm gonna believe,
You've been infected by a social disease.
Somehow I'm still here,
To explain,
That the darkest hour never comes in the night.
You can sleep with a gun.
When you gonna wake up and fight... for yourself?
I'm so sick of this tombstone mentality,
If there's an afterlife,
Then it'll set you free.
But I'm not gonna part the seas
You're a self-fulfilling prophecy.
You think that crying to me,
Looking so sorry that I'm gonna believe,
You've been infected by a social disease.
Well, then take your medicine.
Mayo
Hope you had a good day. Mine was pretty uneventful which translates to a good day. No new drama.
I guess the high point of my day was when I took mom to Target. Okay doesn’t sound all that exciting and it wasn’t but it was sorta funny in a “mom’s like that” way. We had just rounded the corner when on an end cap she saw her favorite cereal. Yes, her favorite cereal (say it with me – plain shredded wheat – small squares – not frosted) and it was on sale. Not just any sale the crap was marked down to 50 cents a box. When I saw this at first I was thrilled but then I thought oh hell does this mean it doesn’t sell well and they’re not gonna stock it anymore? Well anyway, I decided to just push that thought from my mind and concentrate on the oh hell yes mom can stock up. So mom looks lovingly at the box then puts it in the basket. …..and I stared at her. She stared back. Finally I couldn’t take and said “Really? Really mom? One box? It’s on sale for 50 cents and you’re gonna get one box?’ She continued to stare. It’s times like that I think I’ve just fallen into the Twilight Zone. So I took a deep breath and tried again, “Mom, you love this cereal, we have trouble finding it, you eat one or two bowls of it everyday and here it is for 50 cents. How about we get more than one box?” She continued to stare. So I grabbed three more boxes and threw them in the cart. Finally she says, “Do you really think I should get that many?” I assured her it was a good idea. Then it dawns on me she likes hunting for the damn cereal. So I tell her not to worry we’ll still go to the store every week because she’ll need other stuff. That seemed to please her so we moved on. Suddenly she looked over and grinned. “Hey you should tell everyone it’s on sale.” At first I didn’t get it. I mean really who do I know that likes that stuff other than mom? She laughed and said, “I know you’ve written about me and the cereal at that place. (yeah here). So Mayo – Mom wants you to know that her favorite cereal is on sale at Target. (Like every Target in the world has the same sale) I dunno maybe they do. And so there you go I’ve delivered the message.
Well then, the wind is picking up and a storm is coming so I better go. Take care
Night Mayo
Just you know why
Welshie said...
Elena your mother sounds just like my Auntie Doris!
She’s quite eccentric and up until a few years ago she‘d ride around town on her moped complete with shopping basket. She had a rather fetching baby blue helmet.
I adore her. We have the most wonderful conversations.
She’s poorly at the moment, lost a huge amount of weight and has just been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus. She speaks very little English and when asked by her Consultant if she understood what was wrong with her, she said “Yes my dear, I understand. I have cancer of the gusset”. Apparently it took him a while to compose himself before correcting her. “You mean your gullet Doris, your GULLET!”
She keeps insisting that she’s had an autopsy whilst she was in hospital! We try and tell that she’s had a biopsy. She just shrugs and says “Same thing”!! haha.
It’s her birthday today. She’s 81. She wanted some lavender soap for her birthday. I’ve just wrapped it up in some pretty paper. I’ll call and see her later on.
Welshie said...
Ours anon how wonderfully kind of you for coming back here to tell me about Jimmy’s new album. I didn’t know about it, so it was a lovely surprise. Did a little bit of googling and apparently it was self-produced by Gnecco, who also played every instrument on the album. What a talented man.
So thank you so much for that. I’m sure I’ll enjoy listening to it.
I went to the doctor’s surgery this morning. Terrible pain in my shoulders after my fall. Was working in the restaurant over the weekend and could hardly carry the plates to the tables. Anyway good news is that he doesn’t think I’ve broken any bones, just badly bruised.
Thanks to everyone who was asking about me. I promise to be more careful in the future.
Anon October 8, 11:25 pm. I loved that photo. Loved it.
I thought of Martha Jones the other day. I know she’s a huge fan of Doctor Who and whilst I was queuing up to use the cash machine a truck drove slowly past and on the back was the Tardis. I swear to you. It was quite funny really.
How huge was it Miss T? eh? How huge? Had to laugh thinking about you running away from a wasp! I bet you wished you’d had my bagpipe so you could whack it!
Take care everyone.
Stormy is okay.
We spent several hours at the hospital while they did x-rays and a CT. Thank God she was wearing her seat belt. She’s very sore and bruised but okay. The accident happened on I-70. The roads were very slick from the rain and she spun out, hit the median wall twice. Luckily no other cars were involved. Both of her air bags deployed. A woman who saw the accident happen stopped right away and she is who called us because Stormy was so shook up. Bad news is her car did not survive but hey, that’s okay too. It could have been so much worse.
the car
I am feeling very blessed.
Anonymous said...
The car looks fixable if that's all that's wrong with it. Glad she is OK.
elena said...
Thanks anon
But the car isn't fixable. There is a lot more damage than shows in the pic. Add to that it's a 2000 with over 150,000 miles... We only carried liability on it so..damn.
It's okay we just have to figure out how to afford to get her another car. Not an easy task right now but as Mr E said... She's okay so that's all that is really important.
Amyranth said...
Yeah, screw the car. That's one of those situations where the cost of the car doesn't compare to the cost of Stormy.
Transit pass anyone?
elena said...
Hi Amy
Wish there was a transit option she could use, at least until we find another car but there isn't.
Not sure what we're gonna do for now.
Mr E and I are gonna give it some thought tonight. He was supposed to work but he took the night off because he's a bit worried about me. I think I handled it well. Okay I was a little nervous waiting for the ambulance and seeing her when she first arrived strapped to that board...I freak when my girls are in pain.
Right now I'm just trying to relax but it's kinda hard after something like that happens. I just keep reminding myself she's okay. I guess it’s just the thought that something really bad could have happened.
How are you?
I hope you can find some relaxation tonight, it'll take a some time to wind down.
Good morning (or perhaps afternoon by the time I finish typing this ~ or night on the little piece of the Earth you happen to be inhabiting at this, particular, moment) Mayo, Elena, Welshie, Ergo, Amy, MissT, Possum, :) and various other anons!
How are you all, today? Happy, well and grateful for something, I hope!
Isn't the miners' rescue story just amazing?!!!
I think it should remind us all that "heros" don't have to rush into burning buildings to save a life. Nor do they have to take a bullet for a friend, family member or stranger. (Although, both of those are very heroic acts!)
There are "quiet heros" out there. People who find the courage and strength to survive (and perhaps even thrive) under the most difficult of circumstances.
People who don't give up... on themselves, on each other, on their families, friends, communities.
People who keep the faith and keep on believing under the most stressful conditions.
Can you imagine being one of those miners?
Buried alive, miles underground, for 69 days...
69 days of darkness. And, they never lost hope. They didn't allow their friends and co~workers to lose hope, either.
To me, that is what the heart and spirit of hero truly is.
They are heros. Each and every one of those Chilean miners...
along with their families (who, also, never gave up hope) and all the men and women who worked so hard to rescue the miners.
BRAVO and hat's off to each and every one of them!!!!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
And, that picture of Jake and Gizmo is just too damn precious!!!
If Sandy Ann weren't already "in love" with Jake, that picture would make her fall head over "tennis ball tail" in love.
It just served to help her reaffirm her love for him!
Her "tail that ate a tennis ball" was wagging at warp speed when I showed her that picture!
I seriously don't think I could've survived underground for 69 days. I admire the miners strength and faith that they would eventually be rescued. I would just fall apart. I'm the first to admit that I'm not a very strong character and at the first sign of defeat I tend to crumble into a quivering heap:(
good morning!
Hope everyone is good :]
I don't know how I'd go being stuck down there all that time!! Though I do know I would be pretty freaked in that capsule, I am not normally claustrophobic but I have found small spaces in rock, like when I've been caving, really unnerve me. It's the thought of getting stuck under all that weight that freaks me out. Though we have joked here, being around a lot of mines, that if the same thing happened they'd still be down there a few months losing enough weight to fit! We don't know anyone who hasn't gained weight working at the mines, too much available food and grog. lol
Good Morning Everyone
Anons those are some great pics. The steps are eerie and that house just screams “I should be on the cover of a gothic novel”
Last night Mr. E sat and watched The Black Parade Is Dead with me. I couldn't believe he offered. Of course he spent the whole time discussing their guitars (Mr. E is an excellent musician but sadly he never has time to play anymore). Anyway it was fun to share something that I like so much with him.
And (wait for it...fan woman moment) I LOVE the new MCR video! What fun. Wow Grant Morrison is pretty hot too.
Okay gotta get ready for work. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
But then books have always been wonderful friends to me. Almost everything I see either seems to belong to a story I've read or one that has yet to be written.
Sometimes the most significant conversations we have are those with ourselves.
And sometimes the most interesting stories we tell are those we think no one else will ever read.
That could be the key, couldn't it?
Mayo
You know I really wanted to talk to you tonight and I’d planned on it but it just wasn’t meant to be. Sunshine stopped by after she got off work and we ended up having a nice long chat. That is something that hasn’t happened it a long time. See Sunshine is my daughter that is most like me, so because of that she and I have the most trouble seeing eye to eye. I think when people are too much alike they have problems getting along. My thought on this is because when you are too much like the other person you see your own flaws too clearly. You see yourself and sometimes you just don’t want to.
Anyway, it was a very nice visit and for that I am grateful.
You know this has been a rough week. I’m still pretty shaken about Stormy’s accident. Well shit I promised myself I wasn’t gonna dwell on it but I can’t help it. I found out more about it (yeah she and Mr. E tried to keep it from me). Now I know that right after the accident Stormy got out of the car still very shaken and confused and attempted to walk across the highway to the shoulder. Yeah she tired to walk across a four lane highway with traffic traveling 70 mph. Thank God there was someone there to help her. The very thought of something happening to one of my girls just kills me. And damn it I had promised myself not to think about it anymore and here I am telling you. Okay maybe now since I actually wrote about it I can let it go. I hope so. I need to concentrate on the fact that nothing tragic happened, I HAVE to concentrate on that or I will drive myself insane. And yeah, that would be a short trip.
Did I give the impression that I wasn’t gonna write much because I was tried? Oh yeah of course I did but then I never really do listen to myself.
Mayo do you listen to yourself? Do you tell yourself one thing then do another or is it just me?
Night Mayo
Can anyone tell me why the word drugs is bleeped out on the MCR video for Na Na Na?
That's the only problem I have with the video.
Why bleep out drugs? *Ritalin is a drug and that word is not bleeped out.
Anyone?
*an overprescribed one at that
Anonymous said...
I have a headache. I need some of those bleeping drugs.
Anonymous said...
The word "drugs" is bleeped because it implies emcouraging the use of street drugs, such as cocaine, heroin, pot, etc. "Ritalin" is an approved, name-brand, prescription drug. Hope that helps.
October 15, 2010 3:21 PM
It did. Thankyou. :)
Considering the reality shows that air on MTV I wouldn't think they have a problem with the word drugs or the implied use of drugs.
Was it the bands' decision to bleep the word?
ergoproxy said...
Lol elena,I was thinking of that.
How about Placid Malice
and Anon it wasn't odd, it was lame.
I'd say the censoring was because it could be shown on programs which don't have a rating that would preclude children from watching, they can have a General rating, whereas reality shows do have a higher M or M 15+ rating, though it is still up to parents to either supervise viewing or block the rating as a kid can change channels.
I doubt it was a band decision, other than to agreeing to it to ensure broadcasting in all time slots.
There are plenty of video clips that have images or lyrics that are less appropriate for younger kids but they aren't censored.
It's a very skewed area as far as I can see.
Nothing takes the place of parental monitoring.
It isn't bleeped on the radio at all here.
Perhaps there will be a second version which is shown at a later hour or it is dependant on the country? Like Girls on Film did.
Hope everyone has/has had a good night and will have/are having a good day
elena said...
Good Morning
The sun is bright and the air is crisp. Damn, it is a beautiful day.
Anonymous said...
My first thought about the bleeped "drugs" was the band had meant to use it as part of the video, as a smack at censorship. It's a not just bleeped, it's back and forth from a transmission, as if BL/ind was responsible.
What would happen if I mowed the lawn while it was wet?
Anonymous said...
Nothing much different than cutting dry grass.
You would have big clumps of cut wet grass in your yard instead of instead of free flying dry cut blades of grass blowing all around.
Careful not to slip on the wet the grass and cut off a toe or sumthing.
Anonymous said...
That's a very plausible explanation 11:35 AM. I think you could be right since everywhere I've seen the video the word drugs is bleeped.
ergoproxy said...
mowing anon, it won't cut as well, the wet grass will stick up in the base plate which can jam up the blades so you have to clear it as you mow and cut grass will stick around the blades which reduces the cutting surface so the blades will act more and more like they are blunt and you will have to clean all of it out from underneath as any left is a place where rust can start.
It is not worth bothering cutting it when it is wet, unless it's a very small area and you have the time to waste cleaning up, better to wait until it dries off.
Oh plus wet grass won't cut cleanly which is worse for the grass, and you might leave tyre tracks in your lawn as you go over it.
It's sunny today hooray!
I had a totally delightful day. Hope you did too.
I went to some garage sales and was just tickled to find a vintage leather Members Only black jacket. Yes a Halloween look is slowly coming to mind. The vintage hi-top bright yellow Reeboks I got the other day will be part of it too. I’m so goofy sometimes it’s almost scary but I really don’t care. It’s good to be goofy now and then, don’t you think?
I just love this time of year; I love getting ready for Halloween. I think tomorrow I just might go out and buy my pumpkins. I really wish the place where I used to get them was still there. It was a huge field that was filled with pumpkins and you simply went out and picked your own. That was the best but now it is a huge paved parking lot. I drove by it the other day and suddenly I remembered the past. I remembered my little girls laughing as they ran from one huge orange pumpkin to the next trying to decide which one would make the trek home with us. And then my mind went totally weird and a story started to emerge about a field of angry pumpkins just below the surface of a paved parking lot. Green vines pushing their way through, cracking the cement, winding around tires….
Yep, I like it. Maybe I’ll write that one someday.
Hope you are enjoying the season. Have you picked pumpkins yet? If not, do so. That is an order!
Take care
Move over NYC, New Orleans gets top city rankings
(Reuters Life!) - Looking for romance? Head to Honolulu. But if you are single, like live music, boutique hotels and want a wild weekend, New Orleans is the city to visit.
In its latest survey of America's favorite cities Travel and Leisure magazine asked readers to pick the best places for everything from the most attractive, intelligent, stylish and the friendliest people to where to find the best museums, restaurants, bars, museums and affordable hotels.
"The big news this year is that New Orleans received the most number one rankings over New York," said Travel and Leisure Assistant Editor Stirling Kelso.
"It is a popular weekend destination. You can go to New Orleans and feel like you have left the country," she added.
The city known as the "Big Easy" also came out tops for people watching, singles scene and the metropolis with the best bars and concerts and bands.
"In the nightlife category, New Orleans beat Las Vegas. Last year New Orleans swept all of the night-life categories and New Orleans did this year," Kelso added.
Hey elena, it sure is painful, I have it strapped to the toe beside. Even woke me during the night.
Hope you find some good pumpkins. Our store had some of those big carving ones last year, for the most ludicrously exorbitant price!! About $40 each. They aren't a common variety grown at all over here so it's a "special" purchase. Considering normal ones are about $4 each they'd want to be special. The flesh cures all ills type special!
Good Morning Everyone
Ergo hope your toe is feeling a bit better today. It will take some time but if each day is just a bit better it helps.
No luck in the pumpkin quest yesterday, maybe I’m just being too picky but I’ll know it when I see it.
A great sickness has befallen our area. Not sure what it is but a nasty cough, sneezing and body aches are included. Mr. E is very sick so I’m pretty sure it’s just a matter of time before I get it. Oh and every time a customer comes in hacking I just cringe. The other day a woman came in and I swear, she coughed the whole time she was in the store, it was non-stop. I felt sorry for her but really wanted to ask her why she wasn’t at home instead of in a bookstore sharing her germs.
Oh well not much I can do about it, if I get sick I’ll just deal.
Hope everyone here stays healthy.
Welshie said...
Hi Elena:) Hope Mr E is better soon. Strange thing, as soon as I read the word 'cough' in your comment I started coughing uncontrollably. I'm ok though, just swallowed a whole sweetie and it got stuck in me throat. Bloody pear drops! Flippin ‘eck get one of those stuck in yer throat and you know about it!
Hi anon:) Won't be walking through that doorway sorry. Don't like sand between me toes see! Bloody sand, gets everywhere! *shudders*
Hope your toe isn't too painful Ergo.
*hands Ergo an "I am brave" sticker*:)
*sigh*
I am so disappointed, sooo disappointed I tell you. I was looking at a list of Pantomimes in the Manchester/Liverpool area when up popped a link for the Tutankhamun Exhibition in Manchester. I thought, Ey-oop Tut, Welshie’s coming to visit ya. I then realised that all the objects on display are replicas. I don’t want to see replicas however realistic they are, I want to see the real thing you know. It just wouldn't be the same:(
Anyway, anyway, anyway, back to the Pantomime hunt.
Damn right sweetie. That would have finished it off hahahah!
I know it's not the same but I went to see the Tut replica tour back when dad was alive so it must have been 8 or more years ago. It was really good. You'd not be able to tell they weren't the real thing if you hadn't been told. Get yourself down there and enjoy it lassie.
Good to see you, hope you are having a great weekend.
Welshie,I went to a King Tut exhibition years ago, replicas but still amazing to see. To get an idea of the actual size and colours of the things you see in pictures was worth it as it's hard to visualise the actual impact they have.
My parents got to see the real thing in egypt, tomb and all, I was very jealous.
The 2 other great display tours I saw were Pompeii,(which my parents also saw for real - harrumph)and the Chinese Stone Warriors, which were amazing. Both of those were the actual artifacts, including plaster casts of the ash casts (which are still in situ) and some of the actual stone warriors, horses etc. They were just breathtaking.
Elena, I hope you don't get sick. I used to think the same thing teaching,plus kids have less inclination to cover their mouth etc, *cringe*
It was pretty much a given teachers would catch whatever was going around.
Maybe you could spray customers with Lysol as they come in the door? lol
Hope MrE feels better soon.
Well bugger!!! I've missed Miss T again. I was watching a programme called 'Snowdonia'. It's a reality show by the BBC about two families giving up their home comforts to travel back to Snowdonia in the 1890s. Very interesting. For a moment I thought I'd like to take part in such a programme then I found out that one of the families shared their cottage with a chicken, a bloody chicken I tell you!! I'd have gone flippin mental if I'd been sitting there darning socks or whatever else they did and a bloody chicken flew straight into me face. Gawd I'd be traumatized, traumatized I tell you.
It's bad enough that my mam wanted to name me after a bird! Eos (pronounced Eh-os) = Nightingale. Of all the beautiful Welsh names she had to choose from she wanted to name me after a bloody bird!! Luckily my dad put his foot down and gave me a name from the Mabinogi. Thanks dad:)
Welshie said...
Ergo/Miss T, so you think I'd enjoy the exhibition then? Even though they're replicas? I'll think about it.
I've always been fascinated by all things Egyptian. When I was little I'd dress up as an Egyptian princess. I'd wrap myself in a white cotton sheet, I didn't need to do anything to my hair see cos I already had a jet black bob hairstyle albeit with a wonky fringe:(
My mam always cut my fringe and I used to tell her that Egyptian princesses didn't have wonky fringes. She'd just laugh and tell me that my fringe was in fact straight, 'twas my eyes that were wonky.
*sigh* I miss my mam.
Broken glass and cigarettes, writing on the wall
It was a bargain for the summer and I thought I had it all
I was the one who gave you everything, the one who took the fall
You were the one who would do anything, the one who can't recall
Where she was while she was sleeping, in another woman's bed
Or the doctor's or the lawyer's or a stranger that she met
If there's nothing I can gain from this or anything at all
It'd be the knowledge that ya gave me, when I thought I'd heard it all
All the way from California on the way beyond that stall
To those non-negotiations to simulate a call
All the bad of learning evils and your ways around the laws
That keep you up and sitting pretty on a pedestal of men
And now you're sleeping like an angel, near the man who reaped it in
If there's something I can make of this or anything at all
It'd be, the devil hates a loser and you thought you had it all
It was a wrong time for you
It was a wrong time for me
It was the wrong time for everyone
But looks like I'm about to see for myself
That was a 'public service announcement' for the youth (and/or inexperienced) of blogbelieve; brought to you by me, 6/Wendy.
I, simply, felt that it was my duty to warn you of those silhouetting dangers out there.
Good day to you all!
I shall be back as soon as I remember what it was that I (initially) came in to say ~ because, I'm pretty sure it was not that.
:P
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
Ergo! Thank you for reminding me.
That was one of the things I wanted to say.
Rest in peace, Tom Bosley. I loved him on both Happy Days and on Murder She Wrote.
We lost one of TV land's best loved moms (Barbara Billingsly) and one of TV land's best loved dads this week.
:(
May they both rest in peace.
Ooops!
Please pardon my bad manners, Mayo.
Hello to you and anyone else around!
:)
I hope you're all well and good and enjoying whatever it is you are doing!
And, FUN!!!!! That's another thing I came in to talk about.
I'm just so happy to see the FUN being brought back into rock~n~roll by some of the more popular bands (such as MCR) who never delved into that territory before.
Not that the "fun" ever left. I mean, there were always wonderful bands out there who were willing to deliver the "fun".
Buckcherry comes to mind!
And, not that the darker, more 'intense' subject matter is a bad thing. Because, it isn't. I do love those dark, heavy, intense songs as well. And the poetic masterpieces of HIM, Nightwish, Apocalyptica, The 69 Eyes...
But, with so much going wrong in the world today; with so much pain and suffering; with so much darkness on the nightly news every SINGLE night...
I think FUN music is just what the world needs.
We need the escape (as Paul Stanley said at Voodoo Fest last year)...
Sometimes, you just wanna ROCK~N~ROLL and forget all about your problems and the troubles of the world... you just want and need an escape...
if only for an hour or two!
Well, he said something like that and I (absolutely) agree!
Okay, I think that is all for now.
Take care, have fun and stay safe, everyone!!!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
Well crud! I forgot something else.
A big congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Drew Brees on the birth of their new son, Baby boy Brees #2...
a future SUPERBOWL champion, no doubt!
hi again
wendy, you need to add sunshine to the list of silhouetting, just remembering Princess Diana and her famous photo!
Wanted to say as well, in more sad showbiz news, Chrissie Amphlett, lead singer of the Divinyls has announced she has breast cancer. Treatment is complicated by the fact she suffers from MS. She vows to fight and is supported by her sister who is a breast cancer survivor, and of course many from the Oz music industry and those who have enjoyed her music. My Dad worked on a show with her once and said she was a really lovely, down to earth and wickedly funny lady. Wishing her all the best.
