Did you hear the one about the man who remained silent only to be heard?

The whispers are only for myself, and I repeat them often enough to know them all by heart. The truth, I held it under my tongue and prayed...all the while losing my hold on the meaning. Now my words are bent and broken from the release. Questionable promises have crumbled in my fist, and what remains is dry and falls through my fingers. It crashes to the ground in small piles, which I blend back into the earth with my shoe. I grab a handful and press it against my lips; it is rough against my cheek. And I am reminded of where it all began.

p.s. what has changed is mistaken for truth without question.

&Jade, I know that the attention is always drawn to Gerard, and the lead singers in bands. I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve it, but the guys do too. I'm sure that the guys understand that.

Anonymous said...

Do you think other band's don't talk about this?

I am sure they have lost some "weight " in their eyes as well.

toujours said...

Why do you feel they aren't being true to themselves anymore? The main focus has always been on Gerard.

but in the course of this year of massive touring, culminating with the prorev tour, the focus has morphed from what the band is trying to say with the music to what's gerard doing now.

i think the band is still true to themselves, gerard included, it's just woefully overshadowed by the rest of it now.

Hey, some of us think they are in love, some of us don't. Forget that.

Surely, we can all agree that it was so much better when we went to an MCR show to watch the whole band play as one, with no-one trying to outdo the others attention wise, and with no mention of wives or girlfriends, just a good show with good music.

Frank and Ray love people!!!

Anonymous said...

Paperhear @ 12.04

I agree.

And look at them all. To be honest, Gerard is the least happiest, and his bandmates have all achieved.

Bob, Ray, Mikey and Frank are all happily in relationships and I personally think that Gerard envies that. Thus, why he has found 'love' so rapid recently. He's antics like "rubbing in peoples faces" he's partners I beleive, is to try and cover up how unhappy he is.

He is just purely trying to be happy like the rest of them.

Sorry, PH. My comment about 15-year-old's was in no way directed at any of the 15-year-old's here... you're much more mature than that. :)

I was talking about the kind of things that are cute when you're in puppy love for the first time. Adults don't usually run around doing shit like that.

We will not be divided, or conquered. Nobody is fighting here -- we're all respectful to each other, and even if we disagree, no one slams anybody else's beliefs.

So, to whoever feels that we're part of a game: DIVIDE AND CONQUER THAT, motherfucker. ::kissy face::

every band has a spokesperson for whatever reason but interviews are losing the "band" focus.
Pete Wentz said once that he didn't like it but someone had to do it.

Yes his behaviour is coming across as unprofessional.
Yes he should have been more discreet.
It is fine to be happy and being a bit more open about it is fine,
but when the most important fan issue after a concert is "what did Gerard have on his arm/ neck" instead of "wow they played/ sang so well"
there is a problem.

Anonymous said...

Oh my goodness...

Where to start?

Sdock:
So, I do the worst possible thing you can do. I hold it in and seek other ways to numb my feelings.

You aren't alone in this. In all seriousness, I carry conversations with myself or with a wall just to have someone to talk to. It becomes way too much for me to bottle up, though that's the only thing I've ever known and done. It's become normal.

I don't even know really where to start on the subject of Gerard.

PDA: Do not want.

Relationship with Lyn-Z: I hope they are madly in love. I also hope that they keep that love behind doors on this tour.

I hope that the Anon was right when they said that this is the happiest Gerard has been in a long time. I hope it stays that way. Is it a false happiness? I pray that it isn't.

Do I think this band is a joke? Most certainly not. This band and their fans, us, we're all like family. Families have to jump hurdles and this is one we have to do together, or else this whole thing is going to fall completely apart. We're still hanging on by a few threads. But, if something doesn't happen...well. I think you know.

He didn't intentionally flaunt his personal life. People pried into it. But now, it just seems like he is willingly shoving his personal business into everyone's faces. Yes, I find it unprofessional and it does take away from the band.

The lines been crossed, and people have gone way too far to the point of stalking them (just read someone did that)

Because of all this invasion of privacy.

Musically, they still hold credibility, however the stage antics of the lead vocalist leaves a lot to be desired.

Personally I think we became distracted with the crotch fest, and "guess who I'm fucking tonight" sharpie messages at PR.

They seem to be continuing,.... so 3 months ago and now quite boring seeing they are in a committed relationship.

He may be Gerard, but this is just plain silly.

MissTottenham said...

I hope people didn't misunderstand my comment.

I don't think this band is a joke. I love this band. I think Gerards behaviour is a joke.

Unfortunately, with Gerard being the singer, some people (not us lovely people here) eauqte being the singer with being the whole band. Some people never look past the singer in terms of a band, you know the type of people I mean.

These people will see Gerards actions and think the band is becoming a joke. I think that is such a shame for the others who work so hard. To see it being ridiculed would be awful and I don't want to see that.

I think that is what I was trying to say.

JocelynHolly said...

What?

Yeah, I guess it was intentional. But wasn't that later on in the game? Before everyone knew that they were together, people were just trying to find clues of their relationship. They kept it discreet at first. Once the pictures of them kissing came out, THAT is when they started to publicly display the relationship.

I never once thought, as I said at VV's, that Gerard (him being the one to pull all of the strings to get the date cancelled) would cancel the Maine date to get over to Europe quicker.

Some people have lost so much respect for him (which I completely understand if you have and we all have our own reasons for the amount we have lost) that they immediately thought that that was what happened.

Not until someone from a high authority tells me that he pulled the strings to get that date cancelled will I believe it.

Gerard has never been a conformist. Part of his charm is his quirky sense of humor and eccentricty. He has always had a defiant 'take me or leave me' attitude and gets a kick out of being controversial. However, he would never deliberately incite some of the feelings you have described to me. I feel sure he would be horrified if he knew that what he considers to be innocent and lighthearted fun was having such a negative impact on the fans and a detrimental effect on the band's credibility.

I certainly preferred it when it was just about the band and the music. Everyone knew they all had girlfriends and that was it end of. Then along came Eliza and honestly I don't think it was Gerard's fault she obviously wanted to gain attention by dropping not so subtle hints everywhere. I can see why some fans where then critical of his silence, when she was all but screaming it. Personally, I think he was right to keep quiet because their personal lives should be kept separate from their professional lives. All I wanted was for someone to shut Eliza up because she was damaging the credibility of the band.
When the engagement ended, you would have thought that would be the end of it, but no, Gerard has to start turning his lovelife into a circus. If he's in love, great. If he wants Eliza to know it, great. Once or twice would have been enough. Time to get back to the music and forget trying to court the tabloids.

Sparkle Wrath, I hope you don't think I was yelling at you or trying to prove you wrong. I was just trying to contribute to the discussion.

Thanks for that picture Kapunua.

He's an admitted jumbo tron watcher.

"Wait a sec. Let me strike my pose!"

Of course he was aiming for that camera.

Smoke,

Yee, sharing!

Should we stand really close together, cut it in the middle, or cut it on its side, then we each get a circle of it.

I think the latter is the best idea.

Haha,Kapunua,that did make me laugh.

Perfect!

Thank you dear Sparkle Wrath! I shall wear it proudly. But let me warn you, once I wear a crown, I find it very hard to remove it from my fabulous head of hair. :-)

I got a question for anyone here that feels like answering. What they hell does "Love Man, Yes They're Real" mean? Does that mean you got balls that clank or something? Or you got the real deal double d ta-ta's? Okay, maybe that is only bothering me but anyhoo.....

Silly, Princess Smoke&Venom20

I think the "yes they're real" is referring to the autographed script from Scrubs that he/she totes everywhere.

And I think he/she dropped by here to let us know that he/she watches more than Scrubs and Boston Legal!

Good to know.....

Did someone just compare Loveman to Jeffree Star?

I could have sworn someone just said that. Or did I just imagine that? I have no freaking clue.

Sdock said:
But people were interested in their private lives long before Lyn-z came along. You guys just act like it's all a scripted stunt and I just don't know that I believe that.

I wasn't. I liked the music and the message. I thought they were a great band for young teens and for adults alike. I couldn't care less who was banging whom, and it struck me as tacky the way Eliza was advertising. Now Gerard is advertising. There's no difference to me. And tbh, it does feel scripted to me. From start to finish: scripted.

paperheartxx said...

Fans wanted Gerard to be more open about his private life.. and now that he is, people are hating him for his life and judging him.

The fans only got what they wanted.

Please don't generalize. I think a certaincontngent of teenies wanted that. Music fans and people who just liked the band wanted pretty much the opposite. And since when has Gerard done anything to appease people? Believe me, this is not a case of "well you were asking for it."

Sdock also said:

Ok, then turn your head and look away. What if he does it just because he fucking wants to do it? Isn't he entitled? What if it is so NOT about rubbing people's faces in it?

....just saying. Someone here has got to argue for the unrepresented parties....!

The dude won't let you. You go to see a show, it's all about "OMGz I"M SOOOO LEIK IN LOVE!!!! I DEDICATE THIS SONG TO MY BOO!" (Yes, he did say that.) "LOOK AT MY HICKIES AND SHARPIE MESSAGES! Huh? Wait, what music?" Tacky and irrelevant, to quote a very wise man.*

Anonymous said...

anon @ 11:44

Eliza must have done something quite spiteful to warrant this behavior.

Maybe not. Maybe Gerard is the spiteful bitch in this scenario. We may never know, but it looks worse and worse for him the more he acts up and takes cheap shots at his past relationships.

Anonymous said...

misstottenham, do you really feel the band have become a joke?

I know you're not asking me, but that's exactly how I feel. MCR is a bulletin board for MSI. Their live concerts are now the Gerard And Lyn Z Show.

Another anon said:

Bob, Ray, Mikey and Frank are all happily in relationships and I personally think that Gerard envies that. Thus, why he has found 'love' so rapid recently. He's antics like "rubbing in peoples faces" he's partners I beleive, is to try and cover up how unhappy he is.

That's my perception, too. And I would feel sad for him if he wasn't acting like such a juvenile macho prick. "You've got my attention but not my sympathy" to quote some crappy 80s band, points to anyone who remembers that one.

MissT:

Unfortunately, with Gerard being the singer, some people (not us lovely people here) eauqte being the singer with being the whole band.

I use the inconsistencies
To undress the machine,
You're the poster boy, their selling point, the focus for their new campaign.
(Something has to be done)

The truth is that if the rest of the band isn't on board with his stupidass, pathetic behavior, they should stand up and say so. No one has.

paperhearts said:
But wasn't that later on in the game? Before everyone knew that they were together, people were just trying to find clues of their relationship. They kept it discreet at first. Once the pictures of them kissing came out, THAT is when they started to publicly display the relationship.

Not true. The messages started around the start of the tour. The dates written, the wristband thing, all of it. Way before that picture. (Which did have a staged "feel" to it, I admit.)

Some anon said:
I feel sure he would be horrified if he knew that what he considers to be innocent and lighthearted fun was having such a negative impact on the fans and a detrimental effect on the band's credibility.

I disagree, or at least my perception of him from afar is a different one. I used to have a lot of respect for he dude. These days he's just another annoying diva. And he seems spiteful and childish to me, too.

Sparkle Wrath said:
But, seriously. If he had any of our names here written on an arm, we'd be freaking out. We wouldn't be worrying about how much he shoving his love in our face.

If I guy I was with pulled that kind of crap, I'd kick him to the curb. It's ridiculous and I don't like advertisement. I don't want to date a billboard, thanks.

It makes me wonder....

How many here are in a happy relationship at the moment?

This aaaaalmost sounds like the beginning of something that might lead to "UR JUS JELLUS." Please don't. You're better than that.

I am, well, a silly elitist, I guess you could say and I know I've done silly things for the ones I love. And I have no shame.... I've done a couple things in public too, I'm sure.

Did you show up to work like that? Did you act up when you were getting paid to do something else?

Oh, and to answer your question: Guess what? No one needs to know that but me.

Sister Midnite and CVT said:
Everything I'm trying to say, only they said it better.

You people still discussing their personal lives.
Uhh goodness, when will things ever change.

I read a pretty interesting story right now, about a man who walked the Golden Gates Bridge, and said to himself, that if not one person smiled at him that day, he would kill himself.
Well, no one smiled at him and now he's dead.

Makes you think doesnt it, that keeping a smile and to not worry affects life more than you think.

Well anyways before i start preaching like a priest, which i hate doing, i though this was interesting. Tomorrow there will be a live stream of the MCR concert, including MSI and i believe 2 other small bands or somehting else.
So here is the website if anyone wants to watch.
Its in European time, so if you live somewhere else, you'll have to convert timezones:

Sorry Gel. That pretty much ruined it for me.

Anyway, I would not like to see Gerard's childish behaviour live. It's bad enough hearing stories. But to actually see it LIVE...No. I rather not.

I wanted to ask Andy what he thought of that Frank/Gerard thing. He did say (and if he is to be trusted) that when Gerard get's mad, he definitely lets you know.

I never thought he'd take it that far, but I stand corrected.

resurrected wreck said...

Remember what happened at the other live stream? Y'know? Where Gerard attacked Frank?

Geez. I don't think I'll ever forget that. To see the man who spend years spouting "never ever resort to violence" grab Frank & shake him like a rag doll, then toss him to the floor... it still makes me nauseous to think about it.

I wasnt asking anyone to watch it, im not going to watch it, but its not for any of the reasons you people stated.
Just thought if anyone was interested, then why not share it.

The messages started around the start of the tour. The dates written, the wristband thing, all of it.

actually, as a point of fact, the first written matching message didn't appear until the third week of the tour, although i don't know where that falls in reference to the picture showing up.
the first couple weeks of the tour were pretty much s.o.p.: frerard, rockin' out, etc.

Honestly, I've made the choice to block that violent clip from my mind. That's when I started having serious, serious doubts about the entire band.

The helplessness on Frank's face after that explosion. I can't erase it from my memory. The look Ray had, permanently etched.

I never want to have to see that again.

Btw- when has fighting been out of the ordinary? We all fight dont we.

Not with a close co-worker/friend in such a way that could have caused physical injury, up on stage in front of thousands of people after spending the last 6 years announcing loudly that violence is never the answer.

Yes, RW. My husband's been a whole bunch of times. He said I'd love it, and he was right.

I remember seeing the PR live stream and thinking, "I shouldn't be so upset." But, I was. I honestly was.

AGAIN, IT SHOULDN'T BE BROUGHT TO THE STAGE!

You wouldn't fight in the workplace would you? Same goes for here. It's their job. It needs to be handled behind those stage doors.

Kapunua,

You have the option of not listening to the band anymore. No longer buying merchandise, supporting them in any way.

They're not so huge that you couldn't escape them if you wanted to.

What makes you stay?

resurrected wreck said...

Honestly, I've made the choice to block that violent clip from my mind. That's when I started having serious, serious doubts about the entire band.

That's the moment when I also started to think that something was really wrong within this band.

The helplessness on Frank's face after that explosion. I can't erase it from my memory. The look Ray had, permanently etched.

I've seen a slo-mo clip of it. The way Frank's head snaps back - it's sickening.

Kapunua I have to say I agreed with every last thing you said in that very long, very epic post. To be honest I don't always agree with everything you say but this time...yeah. Only bad thing about agreeing with you is that it makes me feel very sad. I miss the way MCR used to be.

Ohhhhh! RW! I'm 15 minutes away from NYC. You have to let me know if/when you come! New York is my favorite city, because I have so many memories there. New Orleans is now equal just because it was so awesome.
