Terminus

Seventeen years had passed since their admission, supine, hands clasped. The moment paused and rewound so many times it has begun to slip and slur. Yet it remains solid, holding down everything from that time, forward. It is the ground to which any path may be traced.

It is far from nothing.

They were alone, their easy banter quickly escalating to hysteria. It was cast. He pressed his words between their laughter, hoping that the weight of their meaning may be buoyed by the mirth of the spell. As he had hoped, they had caught her off guard. And, she swallowed her response, continuing to laugh as if what he said was part of the folly.

It is easier to disbelieve.

Then he turned to her and she found the truth in his eyes. He wanted to take it back; he did take it back. While she held her breath and hoped that she could find her words, and that they wouldn’t sound ridiculous in the wake of her stay, he had let his words disintegrate.

The moment was gone.

In an instant, fear can consume you. It can make you refrain from disclosure, from the truth. You may hold your tongue or reel in its wag. Once it is fixed, fear can thrive in you for years, feeding off of regret, recycling into a fierce energy…anger.

It can destroy.

Or you may gain experience, chalk it up to another missed cue. You can allow yourself to forgive, provide another the opportunity to atone. Understand that when acknowledged, fear can guide you. You can turn it around and fear can provide additional strength to push you beyond previous expectations, to rise above limitations.

What has become of them?

Over 2500 miles travelled between the lines, their lives. They both stand as a movable marker for a moment, a slide rule for a decision. They are not broken, but both are damaged. Each has a life filled with family, friends, knowledge, achievements, and failed attempts. Of course, there is a portion of their lives of which the other is aware, a fraction that they speculate. But, neither knows that the other will occasionally recall that moment, reflecting on, but never regretting, its purpose.

It's my degree in rocket science that helped it out. I really didn't want to mention that because it sounds like I'm bragging and all, but yes, I really am that smart.

Except....except...except...a monkey could get on here and figure out the next "logical" place where everyone would be hanging out or not.

Get over it.

Good Morning Everyone

Wow nothing like being awakened by a huge clap of thunder at 4am. Holy crap it was loud, shook the whole house. I'm guessing lightening hit one of our trees in the woods out back. I'd go look but it's still storming and hells bells so many people have been struck by lightening lately I'm just not gonna chance it.

Anyway hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

Woman says she’s too ‘educated’ to be kicked off New York train
By Liz Goodwin

Loud cell-phone talkers strike again!
A woman traveling on New York's Metro North train line was recorded by a fellow passenger telling train employees that she is too "well-educated" to be told to quiet down and not use profanity in her cell-phone conversation.
"Do you know what schools I've been to? How well-educated I am?" she asks the train employee, who is seen explaining to another employee that she asked the passenger to stop using the "F-bomb."
"I'm sorry do you think I'm a little hoodlum?" she asks, then demands her money back and dares the conductor to stop the train.
The person who originally uploaded the video to Youtube (who has since removed it) said in the description that the woman "was talking too loud on the train when the conductor politely asked her to keep it down and stop using profanity or to take it to the vestibule."

After the altercation, the conductor came on the loudspeaker and reminded people to keep conversations quiet, "especially those people who went to Harvard or Yale or are from Westport."

The conductor should get a promotion, raise and the key to the city!

From the beginnings of the E Street Band in 1972, Mr. Clemons played a central part in Mr. Springsteen’s music, complementing the group’s electric guitar and driving rhythms in songs like “Born to Run” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” with muscular, melodic saxophone hooks that echoed doo-wop, soul and early rock ’n’ roll.

Hello

Hope everyone is having a good day. I am still a bit shaken from last night. First I was worried because Flighty was flying back from Denver through some wicked thunderstorms. Her fight was delayed, that I knew because she had called from the airport. However she was supposed to call me when she landed in KC. Did she? Oh hell no. So I was waiting up for the call and fell asleep. Then at 1:30 am I got a call. I thought it would be Flighty but no it was Sunshine. Okay let me tell you there is nothing scarier then being dragged out of a deep sleep and hearing something in your kids voice that starts your heart pounding. Turns out she and three of her friends were down in a "trendy" part of KCMO and were mugged by gunpoint. She lost her purse, car keys and phone. Of course none of that mattered I was just thankful the girls were okay. But the call was very quick and I thought she was going to call me back. Did she? Oh hell no. I found out more about what happened when she called her dad this morning. I swear these kids are gonna give me a stroke.

Oh and Flighty called this morning but she just couldn't understand why I was upset she hadn't called.

Some day they will have kids of their own....ha!

If you can't find it in yourself, and you don't have another person that makes you feel better, try finding something else that does. Do you have some favorite music, 2:49? Or a movie that always makes you laugh? Don't give up. Things will get better. Just try to fill the inbetween with things that you love, that never let you down. A favorite book, drawing with neon gel pens. Just try one thing that you've always enjoyed, it doesn't have to cost and it doesn't have to bring about great change. It just has to make you feel better for a little while. I'm sure there is something you can think of, small or large, to help for a little while. Just give it a chance. Feel better, 2:49.

Happy 4th of July

We're having a big party today and needless to say I'm a bit busy. What started out as just a little get together for the girls and their boyfriends has morphed into a much larger event. Oh well, I'm sure it will be fun.

Now if Mr E would just stop stressing but he has put a lot lot of effort into the food prep. He took out his huge smoker and is preparing chicken, brisket, pork butt for pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, cold slaw, baked beans oh and he made his own BBQ sauce and rub. Pretty sure we have enough to feed an army. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh and 2:49 - I understand how you feel, at times I think everyone feels overwhelmed and wanting to hide from the world seems like the answer. And you know, I really don't think hiding for a bit is bad. Maybe you just need a little time to yourself to get your head straight. That's not bad but you can only do it for so long or it is bad. I hope today you are feeling better. Don't give up, it will get better.

Grillmaster Mr.E

But you know it's weird to have my girls and their boyfriends over. Don't get me wrong, I love having them here. But...it's sorta bittersweet in a way. I find myself suddenly watching them at moments when everyone is laughing and having a great time and I'm still seeing them in my mind as my little girls. Yeah, yeah, I know - time passes, life moves on, yeah I get it. But at times I find myself still not able to believe that it passed so quickly. Wonder if I'll ever really be able to get past this.

For them life is an on going adventure but for me at times it seems to have stopped. I feel so lost, and I know somehow I've got to find my way. And holy crap I know where this is going...so I will shut up, smile, and try to remember all the good moments today brought me.

Hope everyone here had a great day full of wonderful memories.

Sorry the delete was cause I messed up my pics.

Do not serve to minors.

Haschigh Fudge

This is the food of Paradise – of Baudelaire’s Artificial Paradises: It might provide entertaining refreshment for a Ladies Bridge Club or a chapter meeting of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). In Morocco it is thought to be good for warding off the common cold in damp winter weather and is, indeed, more effective if taken with large quantities of hot mint tea. Euphoria and brilliant storms of laughter; ecstatic reveries and extensions of one’s personality on several simultaneous planes are to be complacently expected. Almost anything Saint Theresa did, you can do better if you can bear to be ravished by an ‘un évanouissment reveillé’.

Take 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, 1 whole nutmeg, 4 average sticks of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon coriander. These should all be pulverized in a mortar. About a handful each of de-stoned dates, dried figs, shelled almonds and peanuts: chop these and mix them together. A bunch of cannabis sativa can be pulverized. This along with the spices should be dusted over the mixed fruit and nuts, kneaded together. About a cup of sugar dissolved in a big pat of butter. Rolled into a cake and cut into pieces or made into balls about the size of a walnut, it should be eaten with care. Two pieces are quite sufficient.

Obtaining the cannabis may present certain difficulties, but the variety known as cannabis sativa grows as a common weed, often unrecognized, everyone in Europe, Asia and parts of Africa; besides being cultivated as a crop for the manufacture of rope. In the Americas, while often discouraged, its cousin, called cannabis indica, has been observed even in city window boxes. It should be picked and dried as soon as it has gone to seed and while the plant is still green.

Eminem's seventh album Recovery has become the first record to sell over a million downloads. According to Neilsen Soundscan, Recovery has sold 1,001,000 digital copies, which amounts to about a quarter of the set's overall 3.9 million sales. The album, which includes the smash hits "Love the Way You Lie" and "Not Afraid," was the best-selling record of 2010.

Congrats to Taylor Swift! Almost 10 million in album sales in less than 2 years? Wow.

ALBUM SALES

Country-to-pop crossover princess Taylor Swift is the undisputed leader here, and she would have dominated even further if we'd gone back another year or two. No artist, male or female, of any genre, has sold as many albums as Taylor has over the late aughts and early part of this decade. The 9.8 million in album sales Swift has piled up since the start of 2009 include her still-selling self-titled debut from 2006; her 2008 Grammy-winning blockbuster, Fearless; and her latest, 2010's Speak Now, which sold more than a million copies in its first week last November.

This town (town),
Is going like a ghost town.

All the clubs are being closed down.

This Place (ahh),
Is coming like a ghost town.

Bands won't play no more,
To much fighting on the dance floor.

Ahhhhh-la-la

Do you remember the good old days before the ghost town?
We danced and sang as the music played in any boomtown.

This town (town) is going like a ghost town.
Why must the youth fight against themselves?
Government leaving the youth on the shelf.

This place (town) is coming like a ghost town.
No job to be found in this country.
Can't go on no more.
People getting angry.

Ahhhh-la-la-la

This town is coming like a ghost town.
This town is coming like a ghost town.
This town is coming like a ghost town.
This town is coming like a ghost town.

This town is coming like a ghost town.
This town is coming like a ghost town.
This town is coming like a ghost town.
This town is coming like a ghost town.

Today is our anniversary. Yep, married 27 years.

Had a nice steak dinner, watched Fear and Loathing and now watching original Planet of the Apes.

A wonderful thing being married to your best friend.

Hope everyone had a nice day too
