It is interesting when you get a fresh perspective of yourself from a new acquaintance. Even at this reasonably accomplished age, I am still able to find myself anew.
Recently, I have been fortunate to gain the friendship of an interesting character. A smart, quick-witted, young “old chap” of a guy whose creativity and open-minded ideals speak volumes for his generation. At his age I was not nearly as wise, worldly, cultured, present, or relevant as he is. Even now his intellect far exceeds my own, and his ability to perceive others astounds me. He is very deliberate with his words, often taking what seems to me to be far too long to respond to my often off-kilter banter. But always following his reflection, he delivers an astute, provocative discourse on whatever topic I had mindlessly rambled into. Seriously, the guy can talk me under the table…and that is saying something.
And I must admit he is a bit off, as well. Regardless, or perhaps in spite of those facts, I find him very interesting.
As it goes with most new friendships there is the crush period. The time where everything about the new friend is fascinating and we often try to find a bit of ourselves in our new pal. And so my new friend has attempted to find fascination in me, and has asked for the privilege (his term, not mine) of reading some of my writing. I initially waved him off, figured he would find what he wanted or give up. But, after the third very polite request, I obliged.
It is strange; I can write for an unknown audience without fear. I can put it out there for the world to read, all of it…without a second thought. Yet when I directly hand over a few poems to my new friend, I am paralyzed.
As I said, my new friend is very perceptive. So, when I stuffed a few of my poems in his hand and continued on about the weather, he immediately detected my insecurity. He saw in my rushed speech and downcast eyes that I was nervous. And while I waited for him to speak, to interrupt my prattle, I reeled. He placed the pages face down on the table, then said “Ah yes, I see I was correct. You are an exhibitionist and shy, both.”
Which really put me to thought…what purpose am I serving with these characteristics, if characteristics do in fact serve us?
I suppose that those opposing characteristics, that in my case are so apparently extreme, benefit each other. I can only imagine that my unchecked exhibitionism would undoubtedly lead me to my depraved end, and that my need to slap the world in the face keeps me from becoming a total shut-in.
p.s. what you got in you; what it takes.

O ! ;)
don't want that comment twice, lol
I hadn't heard about those deaths. Yes, Frazetta was a wonderful artist. And Lena was a great performer. How sad
Congrats Ergo. I guess it's destiny. ;)
Hi Elena. It's like playing with a magic 8 ball. I wonder if we'll get the comment we want if we shake it up and concentrate hard enough?
I heard about Lena. :(
RIP
She certainly was a tremendous talent & a class act.
LOL anon
I don't know but I guess we could try. Mayo's Magic 8 Ball
Did you know she turned down an invitation to sing for the Reagans, as she felt they weren't doing enough for civil rights? They were talking about her this morning on tv.

Pictures from the upcoming season finale of CM, guest-starring Tim Curry. Scroll down for the Tim Curry pics.
Oh, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, what happened to you? D:
Oh well. At least MGG's new haircut is looking fine. :)
:)

:]
Mayo's Magic 8 Ball
O_o
I hope has 2 magic 8 balls!
1 might not get the trick done effeciently. Could get worn out & lose it's magic too fast.
^he
Thanks RHF. TC rocks.
Anybody remember the short lived show Earth 2? Loved that one.
*runs in
hugs mayo

I remember Tim Curry as Pennywise from It.
He gave me nightmares for weeks.
Elena! You're not blown away!
Hallo Ergo, and Teej I know you'll be in soon, so Hallo to you too.
And Hallo Welshie and MissT and BC, and Wendy, and anyone else who's still buzzing around here.
You'd had a good laugh at me today. Got up this morning, couldn't find one of two cats, so I was outside walking around the block yelling my cat's name in my pajamas.
She was downstairs, and asleep in the computer chair. Bugger animal.
Hi Amy
cats are great at that aren't they! I ahve sworn one of mine is missing, looked everywhere then turned to see them sauntering around with a "what?" look on their face.
But you reminded me of Groucho Marx then, "I was out calling a cat in my pyjamas, how he got in my pyjamas I'll never know!"
*comes in, glomps Amy, looks around for Sweetcheeks and Martha to GLOMP them as well ~ no such luck ~ starts singing*
~~Wind blew in, cloud was dispersed
Rainbows appearing, the pressures were burst
Breezes a-singing, now feeling good
The moment had passed
Like I knew that it should.
All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it's got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.
^credit to my, personal, favorite Beatle: George Harrison!^
Thanks, Blow Away/Georgie Anon!!! Thanks for posting the link to that one!
:)
And:
Greeting and Salutations to Mayo, SS, Amy, MissT, the too rarely seen Lewis and Martha, Anima, Elena, Ergo, Welshie, TJ, everyone!!!
How are you all? Good and just a little bit "blown away" by something(s) or someone(s), I hope!
Amy: Girl, you know I would never judge you! You should have seen me, all the many nights I was walking down neighborhood streets at 2:00 or 3:00 a.m.~ meowing at the TOP OF MY LUNGS ~ calling "PATCHES... P~A~T~C~H~E~S!, P~A~T~C~H~E~SSSSSS R~E~N~Eeeeee!!!!!!"
Dang tom cats!!! My females never wandered off like that. No matter who left the door to their house open or for how long said door was opened!
Like he doesn't get enough LOVIN' at home from Boots and Noel?! Dang males!
Anyway, I'm glad you found your kitty (was it Merlot?) nice and comfy in a chair ~ probably laughing his little heart out knowing you were out in your jammies looking for him!
Welshie: Thank you, so much, for your words. You did more than you think you did. You read my words and felt empathy. THANK YOU for that. You'll never know how much it's appreciated!!!
Are you ready to get the good news (regarding your sister) next month? I'm still sending "good news getting" vibes to you and your family!!
Elena: I'm so happy to hear you had such a wonderful Mothers' Day!!! That Mr. E sure is a sweetheart! Give him an extra big hug and a special THANK YOU from me, please!
A special THANK YOU to friends who sent "Happy (furry) Mothers' Day" wishes my way!!!! Love, love and more love to you!!!
And, thank you to eveyone who clicked my picture links (of Bre) and commented! She is such a special, young lady. I know I'm (probably) a bit biased; but, she REALLY is an incredible young woman!
Thanks, again, everyone and I hope you all have a great (or at least a good) night!!!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Hi PJ and etc...!!!
PS: I adore Tim Curry and I loved Lena Horn.
Rest in peace, beautiful lady!!!
PPS: Am I the only one in the world who did NOT have nightmares about Tim Curry as "IT"?
The only one in the world who gained and new respect for and love of clowns because of him?
I can't be!
:P
Who is Tim Curry, Pennywise and "IT"? My Grandma watches crime shows. How old are you people? Jeez.
old enough to know my manners. jeez.
i remember the show earth 2...and how they canceled it in the middle of a cliffhanger. dirty pull, that. it was an interesting show! though i was afraid it was just going to devolve into a conspiracy show.
erk. i'm at the top of the page?
:/
hi TJ! I see the blog has shuffled again! lol
It's like House of Leaves...
Blog of Leaves.
Creepy.
hi ergo. :)
it is creepy! i don't like being shuffled to the top, that was startling.
how is it happening? are comments disappearing somewhere, I haven't thought to look at the comment number.
somebody must be deleting them. again.
don't know why though.
LOL lil oh so young, innocent and un"pop"cultured anon!!!
How the heck are you?
As for how old WE are, I will only speak for myself.
I'm old enough to know who both Tim Curry and Andy Warhol are.
Old and experienced enough to know who Lena Horn, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Buddy Guy, Aretha Frankin, Tommy James, Fats, BB King, Tony Bennet, Jeff Beck, Satchmo, Ella, Randy Rhodes, Angela Landsbury, Natalie Wood, James Dean, Bogart, Grace Kelly, Gene Kelly, Princess Grace, R. Sterling, Vincent Prince (swoons), Poe, Lovecraft, Wilde, Bukowski, Monet, Angelo, Dali, Woody, Zombie ... etc... are.
And, I'm young enough to enjoy and appreciate the "art" of them all and so many "new comers"!!!
How about you? How old (or young) are you? Whose "art" do you appreciate?
Do you know what "a Hammer film" is? If not, too bad. You are missing some great (cheesy) stuff!
hi wendy, I love Hammer Horror, just because you're one age doesn't mean anything from the past is out of bounds,or anything new, some of my favourite music and movies were from long before I was born, and some from the past year. It'd be terrible to only have a narrow view of the world.
Ooops!
Hi TJ! How are you?
I almost missed you, trying to edjumacate the young'uns!
And, that was just the tip of Titantic sinking ice 'thing a ma~jig'.
There is so much (wonderful, sound, sight and soul soothing) history these young'uns aren't being taught to appreciate, today.
It makes me sort of sad.
:(
hello wendy. i'm sure the "young'uns" are finding their own things to appreciate, both old and new. i won't fear for the end of the world just yet on the basis of one commenter not having heard of tim curry.
Ergo: I am, so totally and completely, with you on that!
Did you know that Steven Speilberg made his directorial debut on Rob Sterling's "The Night Gallery"?
God, I love that show!!!!
TJ: I think you may have totally misunderstood me.
I think the future of the world is in great hands. My niece and nephew are PROOF of that! LOL!!!
The responsiblity lies, soley, with US. The adults. The parents, the aunts, the uncles, the teachers and the "historians".
We have a responsiblity. A responsibility to expose them to the past. To everything that and everyone who lead us all to this moment...
Well, that's how I look at things!
I do not take my responsibility lightly!
There shall be Hammer films and black and white films and the original Star Trek and silent films, there shall be blues and jazz and gospel. There shall be OZZY and Black Sabbath and Iron Butterflies!
;)
I used to stay up and watch Twilight Zone and Outer Limits, they were on so late but fortunately on weekends. Or they'd show movies like Creature from the Black Lagoon, sometimes on a weekend they'd show B grade horror and sci-fi at midday, all those great movies where some creature was exposed to radiation, or an alien landed and the scientists in lab coats had to save the world, with obligatory female falling over at inopportune times.
And, it shall pour PANTERA, rain ROCKY and RAMBO and "Rainbow(s) In The Dark". It shall cry for Queen(s) and Queensryche!!!
And there shall be VOODOO experiences! Many, many, many VOODOO experiences!!!!
:D
Thank God for that!
Damn. I should run for elected office!
:P
Night Gallery, the source of many of my nightmares.
Ergo: The Creature From The Black Lagoon is still one of my favorite, all time, movies!!!
I used to love Sunday mornings. It's when my dad, brother and I used to watch all those "rerunned" shows.
Star Trek, Space 1999, and those old black and white Sci~FY(?) movies.
it's always nice to share one's experiences, wendy, but it's also great to discover stuff for yourself, too.
i love stuff like that, ergo. there used to be a local cable station in my college town that aired stuff by theme nights, and always all these forgotten, cheap tv shows from the 50's and 60's. thursday was sci-fi, and it was sometimes the most awful stuff! but i loved it. the channel was called "tv heaven" and it was. :)
11:02 ~ I'm sorry!
*hugs to keep the nightmares away*
But, as I've said; I LOVED THAT SHOW!!!
*hangs a dream catcher over your bed*
:)
even the theme music from night gallery was enough to creep me out, anon!
toujours said...

I agree, completely, TJ! And those are the experiences our "young'uns" will pass on to their "young'uns".
Today is simply tomorrow's history!
:)
And, today's "young'uns" can teach us so many things too. If we just take the time to stop and listen.
Space 1999 was a fave of mine, she of the caterpillar eyebrows lol
I always loved Lost in Space, I still watch it on a classics channel here. Exploring the galaxy in velour.
My brother and I used to got to the video rental store and try to find the most appalling movie sci-fi or horror to rent, we saw some doosies! Like elena does.
11:02 ~ Was it "The Doll" that did it? That one was pretty freaky!
Night Gallery was such a giant and glorious leap (into the macabre) from The Twilight Zone starting point.
Me too, Ergo!!!! I loved "Space 1999"!!!
I loved "Lost in Space" too; but, it was no "1999"!
;)
I have to credit 1999 for my, eternal, love of Sci~fi! Those 'furry' eyebrows were smexy! Perhaps even better than Mr. Spocks!
;)
:)
space 1999 was one of those shows i would watch with my dad. he wasn't into a ton of sci-fi, generally, but i remember sitting next to him in my little toy rocker as a kid with that show on. :)
comments flipped again. thank goodness i'm no longer up at the top. *whew*
The number count seems to have gone up further than it should have
Speaking of "The Twilight Zone"!
Will Mayo's blog ever (re)enter its original dimension of time and space?
:P
Well, it's been fun talking Sci~fi(fy?), history, memories and the macabre with a few of you!!!
I must, now, be off to make a little 'history' and a few (more) memories of my own.
Goodnight and sweet dreams to one and all!!!!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy
Goodnight BRE, PJ and crew, Martha, Mya, J, L, NO, Seven, RW, GS, SC, Magic Pie, Paper, Entropy and CTV!!!
goodnight wendy, have fun
Who is Tim Curry, Pennywise and "IT"?
Go watch "The ROcky Horror Picture Show" and "IT" (which is a movie adapted from the novel by Stephen King). You'll get all your answers.
You rude little girl.
no need for that anon
I hate it when I put a dvd in a cd player instead of the cd, then wonder why it's not working, have that fleeting moment of "shit! it's broken!!"
good night, wendy.
on the other hand, ergo, i astounded my folks when i showed them you could play a cd in a dvd player.
oh yes, have you ever tried negotiating a cd of folders of photos with your parents on a dvd player? Always good for a lol.
I always forget which Muse disc is the right one from HAARP, even though I play it to death lol. Must remember black = cd.
for the longest time, my mom was only able to watch the first episode on the first dvd she ever had. she couldn't figure out why none of the other episodes would show; she was always complaining that it was broken.
but she'd still just watch that one episode! lol
lol, shouldn't laugh, it'll probably happen to us one day, but then, maybe should laugh while we can!
oh gosh, i'm going to have to cultivate some children as friends so that later on i'll have someone to explain the new technology to me!
I'll send BG over when you need help, she already knows more about the computer than DH. lol
*phew*
that was a close call!
I think though, being female you will stave the need off for longer, seeing as you read instructions.
lol good point!
plus, the relentless craving to play video games, in whatever form they may come in. ;)
but it's good to know i've got a back-up. :)
no worries :]
I have to head offline, have stuff to get done this afternoon, great to chat to you, sweet dreams and have a great Tuesday.
good to chat with you too ergo, and have a good rest of your day. :)
Oooops, ONE more thing (since I'm freshly showered and smelling of strawberriess and cream and while I'm waiting for somefriend to get here):
A little tune for all of you!
(For those of you who have YET to purchase ~ the actual CD or LEGAL download of ~ AFI's "Crash Love", ya'll really need to do that. I know Martha has! *big smile for Mrs. Martha Smith~Jones and her excellent taste and trust!)!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Fire Inside
(AFI)
End Tranmission
Pull the top down, use your knees to drive
I'll make it worth your while, just let me taste the sky
You pressed your mouth on mine and fed me a star
Then said we never, can truly, know who we are
Know who we are...
With the lights out and the night inside
The broken radio was playing suicide
I felt myself falling, I confessed to you
I saw a body, you said you'd seen a few
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you've not abandoned
Now's the time
We'll burn to best the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
The gun...
Keep the top down, use your knees to drive
I'll hide these words, there only yours to find
You pressed your mouth on mine and said they call us stars
Then said we never, can truly, know who we are
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you've not abandoned
Now's the time
We'll burn to best the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
Everything was burning bright
Everyone was frightened
You ,said "Stay Strong"
Everybody knowing that what we invited
Still remains when we're gone
This night has only just begun
If there's discretion that you've not abandoned
Now's the time
We'll burn to best the morning sun
Go grab your bag, I'll bring the gun
Ohhh...
The gun..
I'll bring the gun... oh...
Well, I have to 'give it' to those folks at The Roxy. They, certainly, seem to have a great deal of self control!
And, while you're at your favorite musique store or (LEGAL) downloading site; I strongly recommend SCREAMWORKS: LOVE in theory and practice!!!
That's HIM's latest, ya'll know?! It's beautiful in it's simplicity and complexity!!!! So straightforward yet so CONFUSING.
It seems to satisfy you in the strangest/most mysterious ways. Sort of like feeling full after not eating a thing... for days!
;)
In other words, IT'S AMAZING!!!
PPPS: Amy ~ Weren't YOU supposed to fix that clone machine for me TWO years ago? I really WANTED to be in Houston and Orlando on the days I was at JAZZ FEST in NOLA!
:(
It really, really sucks not being able to be all the places you want/need to be at the same time, sometimes. It really does!
*shrugs*
C'est le vie!
Goodnight and sweet dreams, once again!
*hangs dream catchers over all beds in blog believe and blows kisses*
Ummm... okay. I'll be completely honest here (since honesty is one of the things I value most in life)!
Your blog is really starting to freak me out, Mayo! So much more than any "Night Gallery" or "IT" ever could!
Fix it, man!!!! Fix it NOW!
;)
*blows night~night kisses~
Good grief!!!
I don't know. I think I'm starting to like this "pot luck" buffet.
:P
I wonder what comment will be at the top o'the page when I return?
Hmmm...
;)
Ooops (again) and one ONE more thing:
11:41 ~ a smile and a special goodnight hug and kiss just for you!!!
:D
Sometimes, you just have to tell it like it is!
;)
mayo,
knock once if you're not getting these little missives in a bottle...
knock twice if you are.
ah well, it was worth a shot.
hope you're well, old pen pal of yore.
good night.
Still love you, Mayo.
Oh boi.
Not gonna say more than that.
Nope. Nothing.
I lied.
Hero worship. Must get old.
So many people trying to get your attention. Trying to impress you. Trying to be who they think you want them to be instead of just being themselves.
I'm sorry Mayo. Sorry you ever had to deal with that. Sorry for my part in it if I ever played a part.
I'm sorry for times I belittled you and the times I pushed you. And I did both. I know I did.
I did those things because of my own pain and my own confusion. I hope you understand that. I hope you can forgive me.
I don't envy you Mayo. I don't envy you at all.
♥
I still think "Mayo" helped a lot of people. Maybe He/She/They should write a book.
.
I agree anon. I think he tried his best. I think what happened here took him by surpise and he wasn't prepared for it.
Tonight, the tears I cry will be for Mayo. For the character of one Mayonaise.
This was his journal. His blog. His home.
Dozens of people found this blog and moved in. They unpacked and laid claim to the territory.
Why? Because of who they thought Mayo might be? Because of who some of them hoped he was and the people they thought he knew?
They expected him to help fix their problems, alliviate their loneliness. Tell them all the things they needed to hear. Things they may never had heard before.
That they were special, talented, smart, beautiful, valued, liked, appreciated.
All of that from one Mayonaise.
Only it wasn't Mayo's place to do that. That responsiblity, that burden should never have been placed upon his shoulders.
My heart breaks for the character of one Mayonaise tonight. For the weights and burdens that were thurst upon his shoulders.
:(
My heart goes out to Mayo.
I wholeheartedly agree. Eloquently put.
.
:) Goodnight.
What a wank!
Wendy, my sister's doing quite well thank you, a few aches and pains in her back which are a little bit worrying but on the whole she's ok. Waiting for the results is hard though.
anon 2:07. I read your comment and I have to say I felt ashamed. Ashamed that I've used this place to unburden myself of the worry about my sister. I had no right to do that. Mayo didn't start this blog so that a silly Welsh girl could go on and on about how scared she is. Like you said "This was his journal. His blog. His home."
I know my comment to Wendy was about my sister but I didn't want her to think I was ignoring her question.
Just for the record I've never wanted Mayo's attention. Hell I'd probably jump out of my skin if he ever spoke to me! In fact since I've started commenting he's kept away from this place. I think I've cursed the blog:(
I think the problem is nobody knows what Mayo thinks any more. He never comes around, well I've never seen him anyway. If he's tired of all this then why the hell doesn't he just bloody say so.
I've now decided that this shall be my last comment here. I'll probably still be lurking somewhere in the background 'cos I'm a sneaky little bugger!
If I've been a burden to you Mayo then I'm sorry. I truly am.
To everyone else, well it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you. I wish you all well.
Cheerio:)
Your words are what give value to this space.
Never do that again.
This is what mayo said when someone deleted one of their comments.
If the people here past and present were a burden, he would have deleted this place long ago.
I suspect Mayo used this place as a sort of group therapy.
Maybe he doesn't needed it anymore or he is busy living life. Whatever the case maybe, why not Thank him for his time and for providing this space. He would get a lot more out of that then the most eloquent apology.
:/ Good morning.
good morning anon
welshie I don't think you have any reason to be ashamed and if Mayo had a problem with people unburdening he would have said so to just about everyone who has ever been at this blog since it began at one point of another.
He has though said pretty much the complete opposite a number of times.
I hope you'd reconsider your decision as I'd miss you being around, but you have to do what you feel most comfortable with.
Just know you'd be missed.
I hope your sisters back pain is nothing more than just run of the mill back pain, and that the wait for results is rewarded with good news.
Mayo
A guy goes to the supermarket and notices a beautiful blond woman wave at him and say hello..
He's rather taken aback, because he can't place where he knows her from.
So he says, "Do you know me?" To which she replies, "I think you're the father of one of my kids."
Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says,
"My God, are you the stripper from my bachelor party that I laid on the pool table with all my buddies watching, while your partner whipped me with wet celery and then stuck a carrot up my butt???
She looks into his eyes and calmly says, "No, I'm your son's math teacher.
1. While ears need to be cleaned regularly, this should be done in private, using one's OWN ute keys.
2. Even if you live alone, deodorant isn't a waste of money.
3. Extensive use of deodorant can only delay bathing by a few days.
Welshie
Read the comment below yours. To me that pretty much sums it up.
Don't you dare stop commenting here. If you do, I lose a friend and I really don't want that to happen.
I have no idea what is going on with Mayo but he knows this place is here and people are here for him if he needs them.
As long as this place remains that is how it will be.
Hope to hear from you soon, Welshie.
This doesn't feel right anymore.
It seems so self serving.
Not on Mayo's part. On our parts.
It's been almost 6 months since his last blog post. 6 months.
When was the last time he made a blog post addressing any of the regular posters
blues, named blacks or anons?
When was the last time he addressed anything going on here? 8 months. 10 months. A year?
So why do we stay? Can't we make our own blogs if we don't have one and talk there or go to chat rooms or email.
Why does he keep this blog open for comments?
I can't speak for Mayo but I have a feeling he feels obligated to keep this place open.
It just doesn't feel right to me.
That's how I've felt for awhile and wanted / needed to express those feelings.
I do thank Mayo. For this place, his words, his time, and the opportunity to get to know some good people. :)
Good day.
good morning.
i've struggled with the same feelings. why are we still here when mayo is clearly done? why am i still making good nights that i'm pretty sure are going unread? but then, i agree with elena's comment, too. i still feel a loyalty to this place, and all that it was. i'm not yet able to turn away. i feel dumb about it sometimes, but there you go.
welshie, please don't stop commenting. mayo once wrote that this place was as much ours as his. rydych chi yn berson o'r fath melys, ac yn gyfaill fath. aros ac yn ymweld, os gwelwch yn dda? byddwch bob amser yn dod â gwên. :)
11:08 I respect your feelings it's just I don't feel the same way. If in fact Mayo never comes here anymore, then what possible difference would it make for those of us who remain to be here?
I just feel in my heart he has always understood this place is where some feel a connection, where friendships still remain. Why would letting that place remain bother him?
Hey TJ good to see you and remember your goodnights always get read. I like to read your thoughts at the end of the day.
hi there elena, it's good to be able to sit with you a bit. :)
i'm glad to hear that you read my good nights. sometimes i think i should stop posting them here, that if i really still have the urge i should just put them on my own blog...but then here i am every night, writing that good night.
it's dumb, but it's good to know it isn't entirely in vain. :)
It's not dumb at all TJ
So how are you today? I had a rough start this morning. Had to go with Mr E as soon as he got off work to try to get Stormy's car which was broken down on the side of the road. Yep, I had to go at 2:30 this morning and pick her up. I was glad to see a police office was already there waiting with her for me. The police office and I pushed the car to the side of the road. Mr E couldn't work on it there so it ended up we had to have it towed. I barely made it to work on time.
oh man, your kids have the worst luck with cars! i'm glad she had you guys there to be able to call on.
i'm doing ok. today's a day off so i'm just kicking back.
Bad luck with cars doesn't begin to cover it. LOL
Too bad she didn't listen to Mr E. The car started having problems when she got to the house where she was babysitting. He told her not to drive it home, that I could pick her up, but she decided that since it started she could make it home. Well, that didn't pan out. Have to say I was a bit worried when she called. I was on the phone with her as I drove to get her and she suddenly started to freak because another car pulled in behind her. But we were both relieved when he turned on his lights and she saw it was the police. Still I told her to tell him I was almost there. You can never be too carefull and really that's sorta sad.
Anyway, I'm here at work trying to unload all the books out of my car but it looks like it's gonna start raining any minutes. Not good!
Yep Yep Yep
better safe than sorry, even with the cops, though. it should be different, but there you go.
i hope you get all your books inside safe and dry, elena! i should be getting offline. when the folks are out running around, then it's no big deal, but when they're home (like they are right now), i always feel like i'm hogging their computer.
talk to you tonight. :)
have a good day, everyone.
Hi anon
Sorry I can't click on the link with this stupid slow computer.
See ya later TJ, take care.
.
And here's something else that's scary..last week the Subway, which is right next door to my shop, got robbed in broad daylight. Yeah, it's happened before at night but this was a complete shock.
.
" If in fact Mayo never comes here anymore, then what possible difference would it make for those of us who remain to be here?
"
I personally believe he keeps it open out of guilt or a sense of obligation.
So many people still here have convinced him that they "are loyal" and that they "need" this place, he can probably only imagine the emotional fall-out if he were to ever close it down.
Everyone here has made themselves seem so weak and needy, it's possible Mayo is just fearing that he would break so many hearts if he closed it down.
That's what I think.
but then again if he never comes here anymore he wouldn't know how we'd react, would he?
As for weak and needy? Yeah, okay if that's all you see here, if you can't see anything more well then I understand why you feel the way you do.
.
:(
"but then again if he never comes here anymore he wouldn't know how we'd react, would he?"
Wellll he could know from past comments. So maybe it's better for him to just not read it, but still leave it up so that he doesn't shatter everyone's lives.
I think there's a lot of passive aggressive posts towards Mayo, telling him in so many words to leave the blog up and trying to manipulate him into posting again.
"I'm faithful to you, I'm so stupid, I realize it makes me weak, we miss you, we love you, it's all good, I understand if you don't come back but WE are faithful to YOU" and manipulations like that.
And a lot of veiled emotional threats it seems about how upset everyone would be if he shut down.
This isn't new trends it's been going on for a long time.
Just as the trend to make those of us who still enjoy being here feel bad about that fact.
I've stated my opinion just as other's have stated theirs. So who's right?
End of the day...who knows? Well of course Mayo knows.
So why keep discussing it?
Not trying to sound angry or start a fight, that's just what I think.
Gotta go, take care
.
Enjoying being here and harrassing Mayo emotionally about coming back, posting more and emotional threats that he shouldn't shut down are two different things.
It is a web site. There are other ones you can talk to the same three or four people, are you really emotionally attached to an URL?
Or do you just want someone you think is Gerard Way to tell you how great you are and make you feel special...... Something to think about.
and here is something you should think about...
Just why does it bother you that we are here talking to the same 3 or 4 people? Does what we do impact your life? Does it bother you for some reason? Leaving Mayo out of this because we don't know how he feels, tell me what harm comes from us talking here?
Okay, really this is just rehashing the same topic over and over.
Easy to see we aren't gonna agree
No harm to me, that's just my opinion on why Mayo might leave the blog open. Other people were giving theirs. But I see when someone gives one you don't like then its a different story.
I personally don't care if Mayo feels personally responsible for your happiness or if he would feel guilty for shutting the place down. But it is an opinion on why the blog is still here. And also on why you still come here when you could go somewhere else. I don't care if you do or not but it seems that is why you stay here.
11:08 if that is the way you feel then you should leave.
Don't place your guilt about this place on everyone else. If Mayo felt obligated to this place and people he would be here everyday letting us know he was here.
I think you should stop reading so much into the blog still being up. It really doesn't take much to keep this place going.
3:49 this place has meaning to some people. Meaning beyond who Mayo is or isn't.
Why not just let the few people who still come here have this space. The Internet is a big place. Why not go find some place better suited to your needs.
good morning
elena so glad Stormy was ok with the car,that must have been scary. And the robbery eep! Hope they catch them.
hey Tj I think you're gone though.
Elena I agree, with what you've said.
Anon, if you're of that opinion then that's fine. Mayo can end the blog whenever he likes, I am not going to second guess his motives or reasons. If it remains open I'll keep coming to chat,simple.
Liar. You, have something personal against the people here and this place.
If you need enemies to make yourselves feel important then keep believing that.
People were stating their opinions as to why Mayo keeps the place open. I think he's been guilted into keeping it open. Whether he comes here or not.
you know, it's oddly flattering that we are so important to people we don't know. Shame it isn't reciprocated for you anons, but thanks for your opinions. I'm sure they've been noted and it was great of you to take time out of your obviously full lives to care so much about people you don't know and a blog you apparently don't care about.
You have a great day :]
If you need enemies to make yourselves feel important then keep believing that.
Anon do you know what the definition of crazy is? It is doing the same thing multiple times and expecting a different out come.
You have posted your opinion here before but the people and this place or still here.
Either you are a crazy person or you have something against the people here.
"Anon do you know what the definition of crazy is? It is doing the same thing multiple times and expecting a different out come."
Like expecting Mayo to post every night?
Have to agree with the "guilt complex" reason but also agree that it's not worth it.
Anything that goes against these women's beliefs that they are Gerard Way's special little butterflies, you're going to get attacked by them.
"You have posted your opinion here before but the people and this place or still here. "
Hi MJ.
No one expects mayo to post every night. Only a self center child who has no one in their life at all would thing something like that.
Anon you are that child. I don't know if this is some game to you or you are just in need of some kind of attention.
Whatever it is maybe you should get yourself some professional help. Your need to voice your opinion here relentlessly is the sign of some kind of disorder.
*flutter flutter*
oh you're priceless anon!
good job showing how much you think it's "not worth it"
But the Lovelies need to voice their opinions nightly is not.
It's precisely what I said, any opinion that doesn't bow to the people here and make them out t be saints and victims gets attacked.
Exactly. Silly anon. Only the lovelies get to do that. Where you been?
And the anons get to cry, whine and feel sorry for themselves because they can't share their opinions.
Their little sock puppets all smell like their feet, lol....
I'm pretty sure I smell Elena's feet on that one. phew!!
Really 7:22. Please do enlighten us poor little sock puppets.
Ignore the anons. They only come in here to bother us. Why? Because they were never a part of what happened here.
7:56 it must eat them up inside to know that.
I'm down at the shop helping Mr E work on Stormy's car. Holy crap who would have thought putting a belt back on the engine could be this hard? Damn, rocket science ain't got nothing on this shit.
Hi elena, belts on cars can be a nightmare, I get roped in because I have smaller hands and can reach down through everything, older cars are easier, newer ones seem to have so many belts just finding the right one is a pain.
I do very much enjoy setting the timing though, I become complete boss of the timing light because it's cool,lol.
why not?
me!
"Jules, you're a fine one to talk. You and the rest of your little acolytes"
Wrong, if you're talking about Kap. Ha. I actually think she and her friends manipulated Mayo too, or tried to. I really think he humored most of you but in part felt guilty, and still feels guilted into leaving this place open.
I have never been an acolyte of ANYONE, and will never.
But you still smell like MJ's feet and the other puppet smell like Elena's feet.
yay!!
*happy dance*
(...until the blog shuffle moves everything again, lol)
Okay first attempt to get belt on didn't work. Lord you should see how this damn thing wraps around. Enjoying the break.
Which belt is it elena?
***
***
Serpentine belt? I think that's what he called it but yea, we got it on.
This belt wraps around all kinds of things. And yep I had to put it on because my hands are small and fit down into the engine.
i hate going to facebook but it is pretty damn amazing for how it brings people back into your life.
i'm just now reconnecting with my very first friend -- the girl i used to run around the playground with, pretending to fly wonder woman's invisible plane -- and it turns out she's a pagan, too!
i hope we can continue to write, but facebook seems to be like a mini-reunion: you catch up and that's it. but still, it's great to hear from her. :)
er...my comment is not showing up?
ROFL @ 10:57
there i am! hello. :)
@}-;-'---
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
blogger keeps kicking me back to the last page when i make a comment. odd.
this has always been such a fidgety site.
hi TJ! I have found people from way in my past too, it's fun.
I hope you can continue your new relationship.
I have seen my friend twice since I found him on facebook and met a new friend through him!
elena I thought that may have been the one, it runs around six or so things. Easy when the engine block isn't in the car, not so good otherwise.
We had to replace the power steering belt in my car one year, we went driving to look at xmas lights and I went to turn a corner and suddenly my car turned into a tank! My goodness you don't realise how much help the power steering is. I was able to keep driving and get home but boy it was a workout. If the car was moving it was not too bad but from a stop it was very evident how heavy the car is!
Oh hi TJ
You know I have a Facebook but rarely ever go there. People I went to school with keep finding me. Okay not to be mean but I really wasn't friends with them in school so why would I want to be friends with them now? See high school was weird for me because I didn't get here until the second half of Freshman year and at that time this was a small town and pretty much everyone here had gone to school together their whole lives so I was the ultimate outsider. I really wasn't all that accepted. So I don't have really great memories from that time. Okay so yeah, that's why I would never go to a High School reunion. I was glad when that time in my life was over.
TJ it's doing it to me too
Wow Blogger is fucked up tonight.
Yep Ergo this belt went around 8 things. I'm so glad we got it done.
Now Mr E is gonna grill steaks.
Oh and Ergo he loved your pics of the steaks you had. LOL
≡≡彡
彡 ´_)` )
that's an amazing butterfly, anon. good job!
ergo, it looks like when i finally do get a car someday, i'll have to hire you as my mechanic. :)
elena, i've had some people request friending on facebook that i apparently went to school with, but don't remember at all. but that happened a lot, even back then...when you're the only person in school with blue hair, it's difficult to go unnoticed. lol
i've only friended the people i knew.
lol elena it is funny when people you were never friends with years ago find you on facebook and suddenly want to be friends.
I get requests from ex students at times and think "pfft!! I was so happy to see the back of you then , I certainly don't want to see you again now!!"
( ´_⊃`)
Oh well done getting it on! It's a v-belt too isn't it? mine is, they are always harder too
Glad he liked the pics,it was soooooo nice. I spoke to the guy the steer came from, who breeds them, and he was really happy that we loved it.
Oh I missed the butterfly, clever!
The one you've just done don't work for me though anon.
TJ DH would be a lot more use than me, but I'll come along to help :]
oh and the comment count is different when it shoots me one page back than it is on this page
彡 ´_)` ) stereotypical Austrian character
Hi artist anon
Man I read my comment and that sounds sort of mean but I can't help it. Some of the people who want to be friends on Facebook made my life a living hell back in high school. Maybe I should get over it, but why?
Ergo - Mr E said it's not a v-belt it's groved. Okay have no idea what that means but there you go. All I know is it went around a bunch of things and was really head to put on
i can't see the latest drawings either. just boxes, i'm afraid. :(
ergo, i'll employ your whole family before long: your daughter as my tech support, your husband as my mechanic, and of course, you will be my personal chef! don't worry, i'll be a very reasonable boss. lol
T_T :[
sounds like a plan TJ! I'm sure you'll be a great boss!
elena tell mr E I know what he means, lol
you know I told DH the other day that the perfect gift he could get me one year, is to borrow/hire an excavator from a friend (we have handy friends lol) and get the open and close jaw bucket for it, or the log picking up jaws, and an old car...
I was playing with a jawed bucket on a backhoe on the weekend and it is so cool.
Don't know if it would ever happen but boy it'd be fun!!
elena, no reason for yu to be friends with people now who weren't your friends in high school. life's too short to put yourself through that twice! and you have other friends now. :)
ergo, that sounds like a hell of a birthday party! can you imagine the pinata game you could do with that?
oh yes! hang a car up in a tree!!!
Brilliant idea!
You will def. get an invite TJ, and elena & mrE
awesome! :)
well, i hate to say this, just when i got the hang of commenting in this way, but i've got work tomorrow. time for bed.
but i hope i'll get to chat with you guys tomorrow, and maybe even without all this weirdness that blogger keeps throwing at us!
good night, everyone. :)
mayo,
you know, until i read some of those anon comments earlier, it honestly had never occurred to me that my good nights could be seen as being a guilt-trip. i really hope they aren't -- that is totally not my style, especially after all those years with a catholic mother-in-law!
i just write from my heart(though that isn't always pretty!), and i'm not really sure why i still need to. but if i thought this was something that was dragging you down, even if only slightly, i would stop. i really would.
take care, mayo, and sweet dreams.
Another rose and a gorgeous butterfly!
Stars and austrian characters too!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
sweet dreams TJ
I must be off too, bye elena hope you enjoy your steak dinner!
Sheila stands in front of the mirror complaining to Bruce that her boobs are too small.
Instead of telling her it's not so, Bruce uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion."If you want your boobs to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between them for a few seconds".
Willing to try anything, Sheila grabs a piece of dunny paper and stand in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her boobs. "How long will this take?" she asked."They will grow larger over a period of years," Bruce replies.
Sheila stopped. "How the hell is rubbing a piece of bog roll between my boobs every day make 'em grow bigger over the years?
"Without missing a beat Bruce says "Worked for your arse, didn't it?"
