guts

It is interesting when you get a fresh perspective of yourself from a new acquaintance. Even at this reasonably accomplished age, I am still able to find myself anew.

Recently, I have been fortunate to gain the friendship of an interesting character. A smart, quick-witted, young “old chap” of a guy whose creativity and open-minded ideals speak volumes for his generation. At his age I was not nearly as wise, worldly, cultured, present, or relevant as he is. Even now his intellect far exceeds my own, and his ability to perceive others astounds me. He is very deliberate with his words, often taking what seems to me to be far too long to respond to my often off-kilter banter. But always following his reflection, he delivers an astute, provocative discourse on whatever topic I had mindlessly rambled into. Seriously, the guy can talk me under the table…and that is saying something.

And I must admit he is a bit off, as well. Regardless, or perhaps in spite of those facts, I find him very interesting.

As it goes with most new friendships there is the crush period. The time where everything about the new friend is fascinating and we often try to find a bit of ourselves in our new pal. And so my new friend has attempted to find fascination in me, and has asked for the privilege (his term, not mine) of reading some of my writing. I initially waved him off, figured he would find what he wanted or give up. But, after the third very polite request, I obliged.

It is strange; I can write for an unknown audience without fear. I can put it out there for the world to read, all of it…without a second thought. Yet when I directly hand over a few poems to my new friend, I am paralyzed.

As I said, my new friend is very perceptive. So, when I stuffed a few of my poems in his hand and continued on about the weather, he immediately detected my insecurity. He saw in my rushed speech and downcast eyes that I was nervous. And while I waited for him to speak, to interrupt my prattle, I reeled. He placed the pages face down on the table, then said “Ah yes, I see I was correct. You are an exhibitionist and shy, both.”

Which really put me to thought…what purpose am I serving with these characteristics, if characteristics do in fact serve us?

I suppose that those opposing characteristics, that in my case are so apparently extreme, benefit each other. I can only imagine that my unchecked exhibitionism would undoubtedly lead me to my depraved end, and that my need to slap the world in the face keeps me from becoming a total shut-in.

p.s. what you got in you; what it takes.

mayo,

half-finished thoughts running through my head, none of them fit to be written down, faltering starts discarded and leaving no rambling topics, save the usual one, the only one left:

hope you're well, hope your day was a bright one, a heart-filled one, a satisfying one.

take care, and sweet dreams.

Damn wish Mr E would get here. I want my steak and baked potato

ergoproxy said...

What type of steak do you have?

elena said...

T-Bones

Oh yes I hear "potato potato potato"
That's the Harley sound. LOL

He's home!

ergoproxy said...

YAY!!

we cut some great t-bones from the steer, can't wait to grill them (have to they'd never fit in a pan!!)

elena said...

Oh we always grill steak with jalapino peppers too.

ergoproxy said...

I've never grilled them, I think I can buy them fresh, what do you do?

elena said...

Just toss the peppers whole on the grill until they turn just a bit brown. Very good to have a small slice of pepper with a bite of steak.

elena said...

Well I better go and help Mr E with dinner. Nice talking to ya, Ergo.

Take care.

How do you like your steak? Got an extra one if you're interested. I like them rare (just this side of still mooing)

No need to RSVP. Just show up.

Hi
Good morning everyone.
Nice to see you Lewis.

My mam and cousin died of complications arising from diabetes. They both developed renal failure and had to undergo dialysis. They spent months in hospital. By the time a suitable donor was found for my mam she was too weak to withstand the surgery. She died.
My cousin had a pancreas and kidney transplant but unfortunately her body rejected them and she died shortly after her operation.

True it can be controlled effectively and some people lead a normal life but please 'diabetes mocking anon' have some respect for the ones that tried desperately to control it but lost the battle.
Thank you.

Nicely put Welshie.
No two human bodies are exactly the same. That's why the same medications or diets can have vastly different results from one person to the next.

No med, treatment or diet is one size fits all.

It one of the reasons they list all the side effects of drugs, treatments, diets and most vitamin & mineral supplements now
-Even if only 1 person in a million suffers that side effect.
and it's why they tell to you to consult a physician and keep up with your regular visits.

Even then the disease still wins way too often.

I'm sorry for your loses.

Hi welshie, so sorry to hear of what your family has had to go through. It is a disease that so many people can underestimate the potential severity of. I know of a man who has had both legs amputated due to circulation complications from diabetes, it has so many effects on the other organs of the body.
I hope that by sharing your experience, as Lewis did, there might be a bit less misunderstanding, flippancy about, and misuse of, what is a very serious problem for a lot of people.

Hope you have a good day, despite the earlier anon.

A man and his wife were sitting in the living room and he said to her, "Just so you know, I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."
So his wife got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all of his beer.

Bruce was dying. Sheila, his wife, sat devotedly at the bedside. He looked up at her and said weakly: "I have something I must confess."
"There's no need to,nothing matters now" she gently replied.
"No," he insisted, "I want to die in peace. I have to confess. I've rooted your sister, your best mate, her best mate, and your mother!"
"I know," she replied understandingly, smoothing back his hair "now you just rest and let the poison do its work."

Thank you Ergo, Elena and anon 5:56.
I couldn't stand by and watch OPJ being mocked for being diabetic. Like you said Ergo sometimes amputation of the legs is a must and unfortunately it happened in my mam's case. She also lost her sight as did my cousin. It was a terrible waste of life for two wonderful people.

But, like I said earlier it can be controlled and people do get on with their lives despite of it. I guess my mam and my cousin were unlucky.

OPJ if you read this then I wish you only the best. Take care:)

Song = "Given To Fly"
(I shall post my JAZZ FEST video to a bit of that one in a bit.)

I just love the way that song builds. You feel your spirit lifting and your smile growing with each and every note!

By the time they reach the "And he still gives his love, he just gives it away", you're and SOARING with Pearl Jam ~ feeling like a "human being that was given to fly"!!!! And, grinning from ear to ear!

And:

Hello Mayo, SS, Martha!!!!!!, Lewis!!!!!, Amy!!!!!, Elena, Ergo, TJ, Welshie, MissT, Anima, friends and acquaitances!

How are you all? Well, wondering and doing a bit of soaring on your own, I hope!

If any of you have an extra cases of DAWN, extra hair (human or pet) and extra nylon stockings lying around; please send them down here. Thanks!

Elena: The pictures and video were wonderful!!!!

Ergo: It's definitely not "brrrr" here. It's more like 'turn on the sprinklers, run through them and watch the steam rise from your skin'!

Martha: It's great to see you (here), popping in for an all too brief "howdy do"!!!

Lewis: It's great to see you as well!!! How's Dave? There is still a Dave, right? Tell him I miss his licks!

Welshie: *hugs*

Okay, I'm going collect some of my videos and I shall be back in a bit!

Okay, here we go.

First PEARL JAM/JAZZ FEST 2010 video (because this one was recorded 'down here', back in the day)!:

~~TREMOR CHRIST!!!~~

Just look at the smile on Lt. Col. Mr. John's face!!! "Hey, John"!

:D

Next:

~~DAUGHTER and a big f*ck you to British Petroleum!!!~~

"Send your sons and daughters to clean up your f*cking mess, BP!"
~Mr. Eddie Vedder

Hell yeah!

~~IN MY TREE and GIVEN TO FLY~~

~~Introducing some of our service men in Iraq and their family members and PEARL JAM. Opening song SO YOU WANNA BE A ROCK N ROLL STAR~~

"Sending the troops some good, red blooded, American Rock N Roll"!

:D

~~EVENFLOW~~

And, I just noticed that youtube did not save my title change on my "com2" video. I must go fix that, now!

But, before I do that, here's:

~~BETTER MAN and JUST BREATHE!!!~~

Awww... yes, I got a little more than misty eyed with "Just Breathe". It's so beautiful!

:)

Anonymous said...

"I couldn't stand by and watch OPJ being mocked for being diabetic."

Nobody mocked her for being diabetic. She uses diabetes as an excuse to act like a total nutcase when most diabetics are in fact not total loose canons.

Anon616 said...

All fixed!!!

Welshie: You're welcome! I hope the election turns out for the best (meaning: I hope the person who WILL do the most good and be the most helpful wins)!

Here's that 'newly fixed title' video:

~~EVOLUTION and UNTHOUGHT KNOWN~~

"It's evolution, baby!"

;)

~~NOTHINGMAN!!!~~

~~WHY GO?!!!~~

~~Mr. Vedder and JAZZ FEST saying HEY to Lt. Col. Mr. John and other Louzianna guardmen/service men out there in Afghanistan!~~

~~ALIVE!!!~~

I think I may have missed one or two; but, ya'll can just browse my channel on ya'll own.

Now it's time to:

~~KICK OUT THE JAMS!!!!~~

But, only 41 seconds of them because my poor battery was just plumb tuckered out!

As were my shoulders, feet, etc...
but, JAZZ FEST 2010 was GREAT!!! As all Jazz Fests always are!

That's all for now.

Again, I hope you're all well and doing good.

Have a great night, everyone!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

I am the one who tried to get others to leave you alone. It obviously did not work and I am sure never will. I do want to apologize to OPJ if she comes here. She was accused of something she had nothing to do with. I have left her an apology at her blog.

The level of hatred I have seen toward someone who did not deserve it is unreal. I am sure she was used as a diversion but for what ever reason it was cruel and unwarranted.

I am leaving everything here and there alone. If I caused any harm here I would like you to know I meant no harm, only wishing for a group of people to leave you alone. Thank you.

Anon616 said...

Ooops, one more thing (because it is so damn beautiful and I didn't get the whole song, live. And, it deserves to be heard ~ and sung ~ in it's entirity). And, I think friends will appreciate the meaning and beauty of the song.

~~JUST BREATHE by Pearl Jam~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lyrics to Just Breathe
by Pearl Jam
Yes I understand that every life must end,
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go,
I'm a lucky man to count on both hands
The ones I love...
Some folks have just one,
Others they got none,
Stay with me...
Lets just breathe.
Practiced are my sins,
Never gonna let me win,
Under everything, just another human being,
Yeah, I don't wanna hurt, there's so much in this world
to make me bleed.
Stay with me...
You're all I see.
Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool, you see...
No one knows this more than me,
As I come clean.
I wonder everyday
As I look upon your face,
Everything you gave
And nothing you would take,
Nothing you would take...
Everything you gave.
Did I say that I need you?
Oh, Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool, you see
No one knows this more than me...
like I come clean.
Nothing you would take...
Everything you gave.
Hold me till I die...
Meet you on the other side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Simply glorious!!!

Goodnight, everyone! Sweet dreams!

mayo,

i was trying to describe to a young co-worker today the pleasures of being at a show. she has never been, and had lots of questions. it was fun to reminisce for her benefit.

but there was one thing i didn't even try to explain, one of the little delights that are particular to the band i have seen the most: non sequiturs.

the music always carries me away from myself, being at a show is like being in a magic circle that way, and it's powerful and wonderful and fantastic, and then all of a sudden the lead singer says something, and you have no idea where it came from or why and all you can do is smile wide and laugh and enjoy the feeling of losing your step for a moment.

i didn't even want to try to explain to her why that's one of the things i look forward to, it's really something you have to experience for yourself.

*grin*

good night, mayo. hope you're enjoying yourself, even if everything always makes sense.

Children behave,
That's what they say when we're together,
And watch how you play,
They don't understand,
And so we're,

Running just as fast as we can,
Holdin' onto one another's hand,
Tryin' to get away into the night,
And then you put your arms around me,
And we tumble to the ground,
And then you say,

I think we're alone now,
There does't seem to be anyone around.
I think we're alone now,
The beating of our hearts is the only sound.

Look at the way,
We gotta hide what we're doin'.
'Cause what would they say,
If they ever knew and so we're,

Running just as fast as we can,
Holdin' onto one another's hand,
Tryin' to get away into the night,
And then you put your arms around me,
And we tumble to the ground,
And then you say,

I think we're alone now,
There does't seem to be anyone around.
I think we're alone now,
The beating of our hearts is the only sound.

I think we're alone now,
There does't seem to be anyone around.
I think we're alone now,
The beating of our hearts is the only sound.

I think we're alone now,

I think we're alone now,(alone now)
There does't seem to be anyone around.
I think we're alone now,(alone now)
The beating of our hearts is the only sound.

I think we're alone now,(alone now)

Hiya guys, how are you all?

I'm good, getting over a really early start yesterday. We had to ptrol the polling stations cos of the election. It was an easy day realy just walking from one to the next. Dunno why we had to start at 6am though *gulp*.

I just feel so very sad about the gravestone you know. I've spent a lot of time over the years sitting at the graveside, placing flowers then taking a damp cloth to wipe down the stone 'cos there's bits of grass on it.

Still doing that myself Welshie. I really hope they catch the vandals that did this.

Me? Prime Minister? You really think so Miss T? haha.
I'm having "Vote for Welshie" posters printed as we speak. I'll be going around blogbelieve later on putting the posters up:)
Hmm must remember; first rule of being Prime Minister; if I'm going to insult anyone then make sure the damn microphone is turned OFF!!!

LMAO Welshie. You got my vote. I'll even wear a rosette and campaign for you. Maybe you should offer your services to sort out this hung parliament situation.

And I totally sympathise as I am soooooo short of funds this month. All my three monthly bills fall this month as well as the monthly ones. And why does everyone have to have a birthday in the same month argh!

I had to giggle though 'cos she and her two brothers were on Mobility Scooters and as they came over the bridge towards the restaurant they looked just like a row of Daleks! haha.

You never fail to make me laugh.

LOL Elena, that watch is indeed huge. Wow, you could get quite a profit on that. Have you decided what you're gonna do yet?

Ergo, loved the two married men joke. Keep em coming. I love waiting to see what the next theme is gonna be.

Van aerial disease *sniggers*

I was driving through wave after wave of little yellow butterflies, they are still flying through the yard too.

Wow Ergo, I echo what TJ said. That's must have looked amazing.

Anon, I was so sad to hear about you losing your cat. I was quite shocked to hear about black cats not being wanted in the US. In the UK, we don't hold with those superstitions so it was quite surprising to read that. The UK and the US are quite similar but sometimes you read something that reminds you that you are oceans apart really.

I hope that you can find another cat to love. Cats are my faves. cat people are great people.

*A huge hug for Lewis* Love you sweetie.

*A huge hug for Welshie* Love you sweetie.

And a huge hug for anyone with family members suffering with diabetes. I have a family member myself who lives with this disease.

Let's leave off with bashing the ill people please.

Hiya Wendy, send some of your steamy weather down here. We had some lovely weather a couple of weeks ago, I even got my pasty skin one shade of darker white hahaha! Now it's gone cold again and I hate that, it's like being taunted.

my two-day weekend turned into a three-day, which is very nice. i've got the place to myself atm, goofing off online for a bit, listening to some music a co-worker loaned me (ergo, he loaned me "absolution" by muse!)

later on, i'm hoping to bleach my hair and get some purple back in it, so keep your fingers crossed for the strand test to go well. i don't know why i get the urge for color every may, but there you go. the fairies go to my head.

welshie, you are adorable. :)

i'm sorry i didn't stick around to chat.

i went offline when my folks came home, but i've been thinking about something, and out of that, came this. thought i'd hop back on to post it before i lose my courage and/or come to my senses.

i'm not a good friend. i don't know why. there are times when i go all hermity, and i guess i lose people then. or maybe i just don't know how to hang on to friends. for a long time i had just one friend, my ex, and i thought that nothing else mattered, because he had my back, and always would. together, we were enough. well, that was wrong, obviously, and not just because he ended up leaving me, but because no matter how solitary you are, humans are still social animals, right?

so, for whatever reason, i suck at it, even though i want to be a good friend, even though i'm always trying. but it's a no go. there's something about me that is just not enough. i'm good at making friends, but not good at hanging on to them. i'm coming to terms with that. i'm learning how to let go. i don't do it well, i don't do it gracefully, but i'm learning that it's inevitable.

not trying to be self-pitying here, even though i'm sure it reads that way.

i guess i just want to explain that, because no matter what it may seem like, no matter how i may come across, the truth is that everyone i've met and become friends with here is important to me, and always will be. the experience of being a part of this blog has directly altered my life. you have all been my heart's family, and i will always owe you a debt of gratitude. the thing is that even though people always seem to let go of me, i don't let go of them, not really. maybe that's a stupid weakness, i don't know.

this is muddled and stupid, i don't know if i'm making any sense, but i guess i'm just trying to say thank you. i know it may not mean much, but the friends i've made here are important to me, and always will be.

everybody who made me welcome and shared themselves with me: bc, ergo, redrum, fimble, pixie, mustard, sdock, miss t, faraway, resurrected wreck, dei gratia, katherine (ak.a. g.v., sparkle kitty, et al.), kapunua, anonymeese, ss, bikey, a.i.p., pickled possom, smoke&venom, miranth, star, it's me, lewis, gnothi seauton, welshie, amyranth, wendy, carrie, cupcake, entropy...i know i'm forgetting people but i'm writing this off the top of my head.

and everyone who helped me or was with me on my road trip: elena, anima, opj and opl, vm, soulconnector.

and mayo, of course.

you can all come knocking on my door anytime, and will find a welcome. really.

i'm not saying goodbye -- i'm the lame one who would still be checking in every night even if no one was commenting here -- i just wanted to say all this.

this blog isn't really a heart's home anymore. if i was a stronger person, i'd probably walk away. but i am who i am, and at one time, you all gave me a place to belong.

that can't be ruined.

see you tonight.

Funny how it still was "a heart's home" when OPJ was posting Sdock's real full name, got caught anoning, when Amaranth was calling people bitches, called a whole group "beyond pathetic" when people's privacy got raped, towns and locations posted, and when MJ made from of Kaps' deceased granmother.

hi welshie, it is a bit of a mess over there isn't it.Be interesting to see how it all gets sorted out, or will there be new polls in a while? Hung parliaments are never good.

hi TJ I get what you mean, but I think you're too hard on yourself, just remember other people can be just as messed up and unsure as you, so you would only ever share any blame for something not working, not be the sole cause, if indeed it isn't the other person mostly anyway. Did that sound right? So yeah, don't beat yourself up and take on more than you really should.

oh welshie! I love Plug in baby too, really loud. The guitar is brilliant and the film clip is bizzare! Matt is an amazingly talented guy and it's fantastic he is with talented musicians like Chris and Dom, together Muse is greater than the sum of it's parts.
TJ Absolution is a great album, some really awesome songs on it, I love Thoughts of a Dying Athiest

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being a part of it.

Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop. Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it.

This is forever friendship.

When you're down and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full.

Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times and the confused times. If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on.

Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be okay.

And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete because you need not worry. You have a forever friend, and forever has no end

well the blood running to your head can get tedious ...lol

It is good down here, but there is a quite cold breeze blowing, so I had to put my fluffy socks on. Beautiful day though, one with one of those impossibly blue skies.

How's things there? Not too much salsa yet?

It's pretty darn cold here. We are done with the salsa, it was amazing! Mr. E did a great job. :)

I'm actually leaving here in a few minutes. Gotta get back to my hotel. My niece is graduating tomorrow...so I have a busy day ahead of me. It's been fun though taking a detour and visiting with a good friend. Wish I could stay longer.

I will hopefully talk to you soon. Take care.

mayo,

i came across a blog tonight dedicated to inspiring people to be creative every day, through monthly challenges and the like. it's a neat idea, and fits in with some things i've been trying to accomplish this year.

i might give it a try. in fact, i already did something creative today, i danced until i was dizzy. the day kinda went downhill after that, but i had that moment of pure joy.

so that's good, don't you think?

hope your days are filled with creativity, mayo, chockful with all those beautiful words you have and whatever else your imagination can come up with.

take care, and good night.

Well tonight was a whole lot of fun. It was so great seeing Anima again but you know what? Even though it’s been over a year since we’ve seen each other you never would have known it. Good friends are like that, time just doesn’t seem to matter, when you are together it’s like nothing has changed at all. I’m really looking foreword to the next time she and I meet up, in fact we’re already planning it. And yep, here it comes….thanks Mayo. Had it not been for this blog she and I would never have met. Dude, I owe you a lot for the wonderful people I met here.

Okay well now that Flighty is home I’m suddenly thrust into a musical (she’s singing in the bathtub at the moment) and I can’t hear myself think. LOL

So take care.

TJ you're the first person I spoke to on this blog. I only meant to leave a few words here then I was going to bugger off back behind the sofa! Your welcome and your kind words slowly dragged me out of my shell and helped me talk to all the others here. Thank you.

Gawd TJ everyone's going to blame you now for all my waffling! Just think TJ if it wasn't for you all your ears wouldn't be bleeding from listening to me practice my bagpiping! Elena you really have to finish that lighthouse. You've promised me a soundproof room!

TJ you got me thinking about friends. You see as I've said here before I've never really had my own friends, well not until I stumbled upon this blog that is. I do think of you all as friends.

I've always relied too much on my sisters and my cousins. Their friends became my friends. We all went to the same school so I was never short of someone to hang about with. I never quite got the hang of making new friends.

I love my family, I really do but sometimes you just want your own friends. Someone who likes you for yourself not because they feel obliged to like you because you're so and so's sister or cousin.

I always felt a bit of a nuisance to my sisters to be honest. Being the youngest I had to tag along with them which wasn't really cool I suppose. Many a time I heard their friends say "Does she have to come?"
I guess that's made me quite insecure.

I have my work colleagues and we get along really well, but they're just that, work colleagues.

Now don't get me wrong I'm not unhappy with my life. Yes I've had a bit of a bumpy ride along the way, don't we all, but I'm not unhappy.
See? :)

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Good ev~un~ing and howdy do to: Mayo, SS, Ergo, Welshie, Elena, Anima, MissT!!!!, TJ, :) with Tori, anon with the Paul (although, George was always my, personal, favorite Beatle!), Amy, Martha, all smiling ~ frowning ~ singing anons!!!

How are you all, tonight? Well, smiling (not frowning) and singing the song in and of your hearts, I hope!

Welshie: Have I heard of the RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS?! Hell, girl... OF COURSE I have! Heard them, seen them, etc...
I loves them!!! Especially that Flea! He gets me "itchy" in all the right places! Let's be honest here: The man has had years and years of 'biting' practice!

:P

Elena and Anima: I'm so happy to read that the two of you had such a nice visit with each other!!! I bet that homemade salsa was delicious!

Amy: Where is you and how are the wedding plans coming along?

MissT: I love you (and your tassels and your handcuffs)! I haven't said that in awhile and just wanted to let you know!

Ohhhh... speaking of handcuffs, I realized I forgot a very important PEARL JAM live at JAZZ Fest video. It's the one where I managed to capture the end of Mr. Eddie Vedder's story about his... umm... unfortunate incarceration in a New Orleans jail (back in the day)! And, a great story it is!!!

~~pieces of a Severed Hand, Down and an 85 year old toothless man!~~

:P

TJ: Your comment about "friends" tugged at my old, battered, used, tired, idiotic, illogical, evil, black (and still loving every moment of life it's blessed with) heart strings.

*hugs for you*

I, also, remembered that I promised to post pictures of BRE in her great/extra sexy dress. I shall be back with those in a bit!

Until then, try not to get into enough trouble to get yourselves arrested and handcuffed, everyone!

(Handcuffing in or on the privacy of your own home/hotel room/tent/beach/field/forest/mountain/roof/motorized or stationary vehicle = an entirely different story!)

HI wendy, sounds like you're having a good day

welshies clip was of a bagpipe rock band though, not the Peppers, they play a pretty great version of Thunderstruck in that clip. Did you know Bon Scott who was the original lead singer of ACDC (if anyone didn't know that lol) was in the Fremantle Scots Pipe Band as a drummer before he started with rock and could also play bagpipes? He plays on Long Way To The Top.

Anon616 said...

Hi Ergo!!! I must confess, I did not click (or copy and paste) Welshie's clip yet. I just saw RHCP mentioned and THAT got my, immediate, attention. LOL!!!

As for Bon Scott, that man was so damn talented and he left us way too soon. As so many have. Way too many...

:(

I'm happy to hear that you had such a nice mothers' day!!! We're all going out to eat tomorrow. I just have no idea where we're going. I'm leaving that decision ~ along with the time ~ to mom, Bre (she's home now, YAY!!!) and Jude. If left to me, it would be either Taco Bell or Sal and Sam's (which has the best Italian food in the NOLA/metro area). But, I'll be willing to bet the farm that it's going to be seafood restaurant(while we can still get FRESH, Louizianna seafood)! I come from a family of (fried) seafood lovers!

They've always had a hell of time explaining me. Usually they try the "she had a complete blood transfusion at birth" exuse.

:P

Although, I do love shrimp (anyway, anyhow ~ but 'fried' the least liked) and there is nothing like those Lake Ponchatrain blue crabs!!!)

Anyway, here are those pictures I promised.

~~Bre and Daniel number one!~~

Awwww!!!!

~~Bre and Daniel number 2!!!Full view of sexy dress!~~

I'm so borrowing that dress for something, Bre! Although, I may have to attach straps to hold it up!

;)

Anon616 said...

They grow so fast, don't they?

I can still remember Bre, with all her little 'ringlet' curls, on her first day of pre K.

And, one of my favorite pictures of her is a picture of her swinging in my yard ~ in a little black and white cow themed dress and hat that I bought for her. She loved that dress and hat. Just because her Nanny bought it for her.

God, that seems like a lifetime ago...

I really need to scan that photo and post it! It's just too precious!

And, what a difference three years can make:

~~2007~~

Her hair is about a foot shorter now. His hair is about foot longer and mine is pretty much the same.

:P

I 'introduced' her to bands such as KISS, Poison, Nine Inch Nails, HIM, The 69 Eyes, Nightwish and Apocalypicta and she 'introduced' me to such bands as Good Charlotte, Boys Like Girls, Saosin and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Now, it's time to start working on my nephew! He, already, extremely dislikes Justin B. (or whatever his "I don't know what German is" arse is named) and wants one of those KISS toothbrushes!

I'm thinking he'll be ready for his first VOODOO experience in about 4 years. YAY!!!

:D

And, since it's almost mothers' day here; and, I was just watching my adorable (and adored) tiny, little mom about to fall asleep in her lazy boy ~ and knowing the pain she is reliving and relives every mothers' day. The loss of her only son, my beautiful brother and Bre's namesake: Brian.

~~Brian and Snowball~~

~~Why I will always hate Thunderbirds.~~

Well, I hope I didn't bring anyone down with that stroll down memory lane.

It is my hope that none of you, here (mothers or fathers), ever have to go through the pain my parents had to endure. The pain of outliving your child.

I can't imagine what that feels like; but, I do know what it feels like to watch... to witness... to feel helpless...

there is no greater pain for a human being than the loss of child. That, I do understand.

Well hell! So much for my HAPPY MOTHERS' Day, huh?

I'm sorry. I'm going now. Happy Mothers' Day, everyone!

A drunken man walks into a biker bar, sits down at the bar and orders a drink. Looking around, he sees three men sitting at a corner table. He gets up, staggers to the table, leans over, looks the biggest, meanest, biker in the face and says: "I went by your grandma's house today and I saw her in the hallway buck naked. Man, she is one fine looking woman!"
The biker looks at him and doesn't say a word. His buddies are confused, because he is one bad biker and would fight at the drop of a hat.
The drunk leans on the table again and says: "I got it on with your grandma and she is good, the best I ever had!"
The biker's buddies are starting to get really mad but the biker still says nothing.
The drunk leans on the table one more time and says, "I'll tell you something else, boy, your grandma liked it!"
At this point the biker stands up, takes the drunk by the shoulders looks him square in the eyes and says,
"Grandpa,....... Go home, you're drunk

A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected:
A half-gallon of 2% milk, a carton of eggs, a quart of orange juice, a head of romaine lettuce, a 2 lb. can of coffee, and a 1 lb. package of bacon.
As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier.
While the cashier was ringing up her purchases, the drunk calmly stated," You must be single."
The woman was a bit startled by this proclamation, but she was intrigued by the derelict's intuition, since she was indeed single.
She looked at her six items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about her selections that could have tipped off the drunk to her marital status.
Curiosity getting the better of her, she said "Well, you know what, you're absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?"
The drunk replied, "'Cause you're ugly"

Jay Rayner is a food critic and author in the UK, he's often a guest judge on Masterchef and he was a judge on another cooking show I can't recall the name of, 2 home cooks played off against each other each episode. He's known for being very well...critical.

hello, hope everyone had a good day today. i did, it was a nice way to end my three-day weekend.

just stopping in to make my good nights, though. i was trying to take care of a few things over at facebook...which is impossible on dial-up...and then a co-worker snagged me, and chatting on facebook on dial-up is even more impossible!

talk to you all later.

good night, everyone. :)

mayo,

one of things that creative every day blog gave me permission to do is go back to writing for myself.

and by that i don't mean the main stories i've been working on and researching, but little things, like the stories i used to tell myself before bed when i was a little girl.

when i was back in seattle, to entertain myself, i started writing a story in a notebook i had, writing it by hand, sitting on the wooden floor of the tiny hotel room.

and it was fun. i had forgotten how easy it is to lose oneself in the story, how the movement of pen on paper and one's imagination can conspire to completely overwhelm one's sense of time and place.

and lately, i've had a little story percolating in the back of my head, nothing with enough of anything to really make a full-on write-it-down story out of, but as something to indulge myself in, as something for a jot of daily creativity...?

yep, there's enough there for that.

so i've been sitting down on the floor, in the cozy space outlined by bedside lamp every night, and taking pen to paper.

just for me.

it's nice.

take care, mayo. hope you're well.

sweet dreams.

He to whom the portentous conspiracy of night and solitude and silence in the heart of a great forest is not an unknown experience needs not to be told what another world it all is - how even the most commonplace and familiar objects take on another character. The trees group themselves differently; they draw closer together, as if in fear. The very silence has another quality than the silence of the day. And it is full of half-heard whispers - whispers that startle - ghosts of sounds long dead. There are living sounds, too, such as are never heard under other conditions: notes of strange night-birds, the cries of small animals in sudden encounters with stealthy foes or in their dreams, a rustling in the dead leaves - it may be the leap of a wood-rat, it may be the footfall of a panther. What caused the breaking of that twig? - what the low, alarmed twittering in that bushful of birds? There are sounds without a name, forms without substance, translations in space of objects which have not been seen to move, movements wherein nothing is observed to change its place. Ah, children of the sunlight and the gaslight, how little you know of the world in which you live!

Morning is the best of all times in the garden. The sun is not yet hot.
Sweet vapors rise from the earth. Night dew clings to the soil
and makes plants glisten. Birds call to one another.
Bees are already at work.

Mayo
Australian Anti-Terrorism Plan:
As we all know, the Taliban considers it a sin for a man to see a naked woman who is not his wife. So, this
Saturday at 2:00 PM Eastern time all Australian women are asked to walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any neighbourhood terrorists.
Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti-terrorist effort. All men are to position
themselves in lawn chairs in front of their house to prove they are not Taliban, demonstrate that they
think it's okay to see nude women other than their wife and to show support for all Australian women.
And since the Taliban also does not approve of alcohol, a cold six-pack at your side is further proof
of your anti-Taliban sentiment.
The Australian Government appreciates your efforts to root out terrorists and applauds your participation in
this anti-terrorist activity. God bless Australia!

IN GENERAL
1. Never take an open stubby to a job interview.
2. Always identify people in your paddocks before shooting at them.
3. It's tacky to take an esky to church.
4. If you have to vacuum the bed, it's time to change the sheets.
5. Even if you're certain you're included in the will, it's rude to take your ute and trailer to the funeral.

DINING OUT
1. When decanting wine from the box, tilt the paper cup and pour slowly so as not to bruise the wine.
2. If drinking directly from the bottle, hold it with only one hand.

ENTERTAINING IN YOUR HOME
1. A centrepiece for the table should never be anything prepared by a taxidermist.
2. Don't allow the dog to eat at the table, no matter how good his manners.

Good Morning

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day. Mine started out with Mr E bringing me a bouquet of roses, chocolates and a lottery ticket. The sweet man was afraid my girls would forget what day it was, I’m sure. But my girls didn’t they all remembered! It was a wonderful day.

The weather here has turned darn cold so while it was suggested Mayo have a nice up of chamomile tea I would love one too. It might just warm me up a bit.

Hope everyone has a great day. Take care everybody.

Good Morning Ergo

Weird weather, for sure. It is cold but we are still supposed to get storms in a few hours. I really hope they don't arrive before "24" airs. Last week was great and I can't wait to see what Jack is gonna do this week.

It's a magical mystery blog now!

Everytime I come in there's a different comment at the top of the page.

It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

ergoproxy said...
