For as long as I can remember, I have collected little bits and pieces of people. Not eyeballs and arms, or blood and guts, but their lives, their actions, moments and movements…the way they walk or speak. I watch and listen, collecting fragments and still-frames of lives of which I know nothing. I keep these parts, and then when I am ready I attribute my own perceptions to their actions; I make up stories. I am a thief. And from what I collect, I assemble.
The way a woman, carrying her child on her hip, hesitates while crossing the street. Wrapping her hand protectively around her child’s head, she holds her breath and second guesses the crisp-suited businessman will run the red light because he is distracted talking to his mistress, and he has only five minutes to make plans with her before he meets his wife for lunch. The woman knows this because her husband left her last year for his secretary. He told her over lunch.
The way coffee shop patrons cast questioning glances at the man sitting alone at the back of the room. His eyes are downcast, and he is spinning an empty cup. He rarely moves, and never speaks. Across from him sits an empty chair, a full cup of coffee, and an uneaten pastry. Patrons avoid him, falsely assuming he is homeless or insane, because of his sour body odor and dirty clothes. It is true; he hasn’t changed them in six days, the six days since his wife died, the six days he has returned to the table at the coffee shop where they met. The same table they called “ours” twice a week.
The way a classroom full of students, half paying attention, all consider the quiet kid in the back to be a dolt. They see a girl who rarely looks up and never raises her hand. The kid isn’t ignorant or lazy. On the contrary, she has already correctly answered the question in her head. She simply can’t get past the fear that, once called upon, she will fumble through her speech and answer incorrectly, drawing upon herself the jeers of her classmates. She so fears the embarrassment of being wrong that she sacrifices achievement. She will later beat herself up because she didn’t raise her hand, taking over from where the others have left off.

I have to say something about the double standards that are shown here. It seems that no matter what the remaining blues do, they are in the position of damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. They are accused repeatedly of being anons, and it is implied that “well, of course it is them, who else could it be?” Yet when they are attacked, it’s always someone who “has only been here two days, or never commented before, etc.” Do you not think that possibly the other anons are someone besides the remaining blues? They have stated over and over again how they do not like the attacking anons either. They have stood up for people who treated them horribly. Yet that means nothing.
While I am on the subject, I’m tired of reading how horrible the people here are for one or two incidents that anons have brought up repeatedly, yet the ones here are expected to keep quiet, never defend themselves, for they know that the second they do, they are going to be accused of “going psycho, or flipping their shit” or whatever is the going phrase that day. They can talk about the people here as much as they want, because hey, they deserve it, right? They blew up once or a few times in two years, so they deserve to be treated as less than human. It’s not right, no matter how you justify the words in your mind. I recall many incidents where others lost their cool too, and treated people badly.
I’m not saying one person is better than the other, for they are not. The whole point of this is that each person should be treated with respect and not instantly accused of being attacking another under an anon name. What scale you use for determining intensity of insults or cruelty is irrelevant. I asked for an example of chastizing when it was obvious another person's feelings were hurt, or they were spoken to in a hostile manner.

LONDON (AFP) – British singer Morrissey was in a stable condition on Sunday, a hospital said, after collapsing on stage with breathing problems.
The 50-year-old former frontman of 1980s pop band The Smiths fell ill just one song into his concert Saturday at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon, southwest England.

"Just after 9:00 pm we got a call to a 50-year-old man who was reported to be suffering from respiratory problems and was unconscious," said a spokeswoman for the Great Western Ambulance Service.
"We sent a paramedic in a doubled-crewed ambulance.
"When they arrived they found a conscious patient who was not feeling well at all. They made an initial assessment and took him to the Great Western Hospital (in Swindon) for further assessment."
His condition was not thought to be life threatening, she added.
"The stage went dark and he was taken off the stage and then his band all left the stage," The Daily Telegraph's website quoted 40-year-old eyewitness Mark Taylor as saying.
"There was a wait of about 25 minutes before one of the stage crew came on and said Morrissey had left the building, and that he was seriously ill.
"Everybody started booing, thinking 'here we go again'. He has a bit of a poor track record for cancelling his concerts."
The Mancunian singer has been touring North America and Europe since releasing his ninth solo album, "Years of Refusal", in February.
He has cancelled several concerts during the tour, including dates in Florida, North Carolina, California, Britain and France.

Anyway I finally started watching the first season of Skins and True Blood.
I like them both. I really found it interesting on Skins Tony was will to make his gay friend happy by giving him a bj. actually just wanted to do it for the shock value. It back fired big time on him. Not only did he lose his girlfriend but all his other friends.

I think they have been silenced quite well, anon. Are you saying that you want them to leave entirely, or just stop defending themselves in anyway? I have yet to see them come in and say, "I haven't talked about the people who left in a while, let me tell you what I think of them."

Well there I was thinking I was hobbling down the road to recovery when suddenly I got run over by a train. Okay maybe not a train but you get what I mean. I’m so fuckin’ tired of this. I just want to write the name flu down in my book then strike a line through it (bet you don’t get that movie reference).
So tonight I worked on my Halloween story (yep that’s right I played with my action figures) (totally wanted to beat a few ornery anons to that). And now I’m bone tired. Hey bone tired sounds like how you should feel this time of year, doesn’t it? It sounds all eerie and shit. (and once again my mind wanders off)
So anyway, hope your day was good, your tomorrow even better. Hope you’re getting into the Halloween spirit (too tired insert me nagging you here)

The Search For Zombie Frank Continues...
Last time the Pale Band had just met Z-Gee and decided to help him look for Z-Frank.....
So they all left the building and began to walk down a dark pathway. Suddenly a noise startled them. Well startled all of them except P-Gee (the artist formally know as Pale Gee)
“What the hell is that?” P-Frank asked catching a glimpse of something white.
P-Gee took a few steps into the darkness then returned leading his ride. Happiness lit his face. “Man, I thought she’d taken off.”
The guys (except for Z-Gee who rolled his eyes) all looked very confused.
“What is that?” P-Ray asked.
“My unicorn.” P-Gee said proudly stroking her long mane. “Isn’t she beautiful?”
“Dudes, I’ve been through this with him already. Just tell him the damn thing is lovely so we can get going.” Z-Gee said taking out a smoke and lighting it.
P-Bob glanced over at him. “You smoke?”
“Like what diff does it make? I’m dead…helllooo Zombie here.” Z-Gee said taking a long drag.
P-Mikey was still staring at the unicorn, “Uh, she’s really nice Bro but we need to get going.”
P-Gee nodded, “Yeah sure.” He climbed aboard the unicorn.
Ready to Go
The guys all moaned. It was P-Ray who spoke, “Dude, you’re not riding while the rest of us walk.”
P-Gee frowned, “But I wanna.” (It was pretty close to a whine.)
“No way.” P-Frank said shaking his head, “Now come on.” He stomped his foot until P-Gee dismounted.
“Fine.” P-Gee grumbled. He gently spoke into the unicorn’s ear explaining the situation to her.
Finally they all started off again. All of them walking. But soon it became obvious they were lost. Nothing looked familiar to the Pale Band.
Suddenly a figure stepped out from behind a tree. Most of the guys uttered curse words. One screamed. (don’t really need to say who).
Good To See You
“Hey, Man. Good to see you.” Z-Gee walked over to the figure. “How you been?”
“Good.”
Z-Gee realized he should introduce his friend to the others. “This is Frankie.”
It was P-Frank who stepped foreword. “Frankie? As in Frankenstein?”
“Yeah, yeah.” Z-Gee answered impatiently. “That means were back in my neck of the woods.”
“Did someone say neck?”
They all turned to see another figure emerge from the shadows. “Hey Drac.” Z-Gee said.

The Pale Band had all moved closer together.
“Uh, you sure this is a good idea?" P-Mikey asked his bro. Things were getting weird.
Z-Gee spoke to his friends then turned, “Come on. I know where we are now. Since we’re here we might as well grab my friends to help us search. Drac says he thinks he knows someone who might have some information about what happened to Z-Frank.”
Reluctantly the Pale group followed. A short time later they arrived at an eerie looking building. Inside the remaining Zombie band were hanging out doing zombie things. (Well that and trying to convience Z-Bob that he and the gnome really weren’t a great couple.) Needless to say they were pretty freaked when the Pale Band walked in. But in time they put their differences aside and the search for Z-Frank continued.

Mayo once said something to the effect that the people here led fascinating lives...but that was a long, long time ago. I don't think he was talking about the people who are still here.
i saw little evidence of fascinating lives back then. i mostly saw lonely people with low self esteem and fucked up lives. They then began to get repetitive and that is how here became dull. this is not due to anybody still here, it is just that there is only so many times and so many ways you can say the same things about yourself.
of course there are a few who have got it together-work/life/fun balance and i still really enjoy reading about it.
I think maybe this place might have remained fun had new people come in and taken the place of those who left. But, new people aren't likely to feel welcomed and there is little to draw them here now anyway.
Like anything else, the blog will eventually die out without infusion of new life. It's inevitable.
i agree 2:43. every community needs new people to sustain it but it is very unlikely that enough new people will come here.
i remember in the good old bad days new people were pounced upon very rudely and made feel very unwelcome and therefore did not come back.
I was always anonymous and the porchies welcomed me with open arms from day one. Both here and the porch, they were always welcoming. Of course I felt like I had something good to bring to the table and I didn't barge in acting like a shithead.
Once I came in to say hi and OPJ got all "STATE YOUR NAME AND INTENTIONS" with me and I did not feel welcome then but I ignored her.

I think all of the regulars here have done their fair share of trying to keep new people out. I can remember Kapunua being quite rude to me once. I also got the third degree from OPJ and was ignored by Elena and Toujours even though I did not barge in nor did I say anything offensive. There was just a time period when they were not nice to any new people -- any of them. That was during the blog's heyday before they started openly turning on one another.
yes, there has always been a policy of exclusion here and when they ran out of new people it just imploded.
I also think that many of the angry anons who come here are people who were treated badly by the regulars at one point. When they discovered they weren't going to be accepted and included they began lashing out at whoever it was who was rude to them. That's why they seem so hateful and angry; they feel they were treated badly.
Although I do think many anons are regulars not signed in.
i think most are people who left and a few, the repetitive bullying anons, are those who just thought they would choose a side made up of those they thought were the most popular (like immature school kids)and just bully those they considered to be the geeks.

It's hard to explain, but I think new people were excluded because the regs thought the new people were just coming here not to make friends, but to find out what the regs knew about Mayo and SS. Clearly the people here from the beginning knew things, and at one point everyone shared info, fitting the pieces of the puzzle together. There was even a secret blog that everyone was invited to so everyone could share and discuss theories about Mayo and SS away from the prying eyes of anons. Then I think some people stopped sharing and this caused problems and resentment crept in. It became a power struggle. New anons that turn up now have missed the boat. Neither Mayo or SS visit as much as they used to in the blogs heyday. Even if new people show up, like WYWH, they may be accepted on the surface, and the regs will have polite conversation, but they will never bring WYWH into their confidence and divulge the secrets they share. If you weren't here in the beginning, you're fucked. End of story.
i can understand that attitude now unfortunately. i don't think there is a very active interest in MCR anymore and i don't think there would be any new interest in whoever mayo and ss may be.
those who have made a connection will continue as they are and really if i were them i would find it very difficult to trust someone new considering all that has gone on.

MCR truly doesn't generate much interest anymore. Even in a recent post on chemicalromance about voting for them in an AP poll, most of the fans said they were voting for another band. Despite what people say, most fans don't care for the new direction the band seems to be going in. Also, people are not impressed by the band's blogs and twitters. Turns out that Gerard, Frank, et. al., aren't the people fans thought they were.
So, where does that leave this little place on the internet? Destined for exctinction, I would say.

No I don't think that's it. The regs didn't want to be seen by other forums etc, quite the opposite. They liked things insular. As for Mayo and SS, they made friends with the people here from the beginning, they aren't here often enough to start making new friendships with newcomers.
i really don't think the reason most of the remaining people are here is solely to be seen. I think there are some genuine friendships here and it has become part of their day to be here.
