Theory of Degeneration.

For as long as I can remember, I have collected little bits and pieces of people. Not eyeballs and arms, or blood and guts, but their lives, their actions, moments and movements…the way they walk or speak. I watch and listen, collecting fragments and still-frames of lives of which I know nothing. I keep these parts, and then when I am ready I attribute my own perceptions to their actions; I make up stories. I am a thief. And from what I collect, I assemble.

The way a woman, carrying her child on her hip, hesitates while crossing the street. Wrapping her hand protectively around her child’s head, she holds her breath and second guesses the crisp-suited businessman will run the red light because he is distracted talking to his mistress, and he has only five minutes to make plans with her before he meets his wife for lunch. The woman knows this because her husband left her last year for his secretary. He told her over lunch.

The way coffee shop patrons cast questioning glances at the man sitting alone at the back of the room. His eyes are downcast, and he is spinning an empty cup. He rarely moves, and never speaks. Across from him sits an empty chair, a full cup of coffee, and an uneaten pastry. Patrons avoid him, falsely assuming he is homeless or insane, because of his sour body odor and dirty clothes. It is true; he hasn’t changed them in six days, the six days since his wife died, the six days he has returned to the table at the coffee shop where they met. The same table they called “ours” twice a week.

The way a classroom full of students, half paying attention, all consider the quiet kid in the back to be a dolt. They see a girl who rarely looks up and never raises her hand. The kid isn’t ignorant or lazy. On the contrary, she has already correctly answered the question in her head. She simply can’t get past the fear that, once called upon, she will fumble through her speech and answer incorrectly, drawing upon herself the jeers of her classmates. She so fears the embarrassment of being wrong that she sacrifices achievement. She will later beat herself up because she didn’t raise her hand, taking over from where the others have left off.

No Longer Lost.

I don’t have to look for you anymore.
Not in faces that resemble yours
Round and rugged, shadow of a beard
That always seems present, but never more
Than a scruff. Is it you?
I never asked, but wonder.
This time I could not help myself.
Are you?

He told me you drowned yourself,
And that in the end they had made you a beggar
Boxed in pine, without proper notice.
It had been 20 years, but still I looked for you
Because you were kind when I was afraid.
But, I think I don’t need you anymore.

Right now, that is all prosthetic.

A lack of sleep and unending thoughts will either drive me to excuse myself from my obligations or thrust me headlong into achievement. Everything around me spins on, and I remain pushing my way through to the very end.

And that is where I remain, soldered to the front end of a rogue missile.

p.s. that is what makes it rock.

i think both mayo and ss will say goodbye in some way. they won't just stop posting.

they are not that cruel.

Anonymous said...

Maybe SS will open his blog up for comments if Mayo ever deletes this place. I always wondered why he never did that.

Anonymous said...

But how long will Mayo and SS continue to come here? They come so rarely now.

Probably because there's nobody here for them to talk to any more. The daytime slot used to be filled by the porchies. Now it's just silence. This blog was always big enough for a day crew and a night crew. This place used to be buzzing 24 hours a day.

Anonymous said...

as was said before, people had run out of things to say. they were onto repetition.

Anonymous said...

Not everyone. I learned a lot of things from some of the people here. There used to be some really great discussions here; things that would make you think, make you laugh, and make you challenge your own preconceptions. Discussions about what people had for lunch...not so much.

Anonymous said...

also people have lives. they move on. people cannot be expected to just comment here all day for the education and entertainment of others.

people may have other interests now-they may have found partners, had children etc.

start your own discussions. you never know who might join in.

Anonymous said...

ah, there's the rub. they didn't have to comment here all day. there used to be enough people here to fill every hour of every day with comments. i believe people did so because they wanted to, not for the amusement or entertainment of others.

Anonymous said...

but people move on. as i said they get new interests in their lives, new real life friends, new family etc and this becomes a memory. just like when you change jobs, you swear you will keep in touch and then you just get caught up in your new life and before you know it you have to struggle to remember names of people you spent most of your day with for a long time.

that's life!

Anonymous said...

Thing is, I could start a discussion but who would join in? Unless it's something that people here are already talking about (like lunch, for example) it would most likely just get ignored. I'd have to bring a friend and hi-jack the blog most likely in order to get any kind of back-and-forth going. And that would go over like a lead ballooon.

Anonymous said...

try it 7:30. i have always found that people are happy to discuss/advise.

if you really think there is nobody or nothing here for you then i have to ask why you are here.

Anonymous said...

No, there's no point in anyone trying to start up a discussion at this point. I think we should just accept what this place has become and leave it to the people who still seem to care.

Like the other anon said, that's life.

Anyone home?

ergoproxy said...

Hi amy

I'm just looking up a recipe for chicken and camembert pie
how are you?

Amyranth said...

Ooooh. Hungry all of a sudden! Chicken and Camembert pie? Sounds good!

I'm not bad though, still job hunting. How was the swim yesterday?

elena said...

Hello

I'm finally home and pretty happy I was out among the living today.

Wait that's not exactly true I spent a lot of time in graveyards today. LOL

ergoproxy said...

I didn't end up getting in the water, the kids all did, us grown ups sat around in the shade chatting, so it was a nice afternoon.

If it's not sweltering weather, I tend to feel awfully like swimming, until I get near the water, then my body goes "nope, I think you feel quite cool now actually"

ergoproxy said...

hey elena!

I bet it feels good to be up and about

elena said...

Hi Amy

Hi Ergo

Yep it feels great. I'm only a little tired.

Did you see Stormy fixed my phone so now I can post a comment?

Of course evil child that she is she won't tell me what she did. LOL

Amyranth said...

Hey Elena! Glad to see you're feeling less like the undead!

ergoproxy said...

I did see, she's a clever girl. my phone is dreadful at posting comments, it keeps coming back saying I haven't picked an option, when I have, so it takes so many tries I give up.

elena said...

Thanks Amy

How are you today?

Amyranth said...

Pretty good Elena! Took a nap this afternoon, and though I woke up feeling kind of off, it was nice to be so deliciously lazy for a change.

elena said...

I tried to get the damn phone to post comments, Mr Elena tried...hell 2 Sprint employees tried.

She sits down at dinner and three minutes later she's posted a comment.

Oh here's Mom and Stormy at dinner.

Mom and Stormy

elena said...

Amy I've taken so damn many naps the past two weeks it was crazy.

Are you feeling better now?

ergoproxy said...

nice pic!
what did you all have for dinner?

Amyranth said...

Elena, I like that shot!

And yes, I'm feeling better. It was just that post nap haze, where your body doesn't really need to sleep, but you lay down anyway and it eventually gives in.

Not to mention the heat in Mister's room is set on stun, so I was probably dehydrated coming out of there. :/

elena said...

We had steak for dinner. It was good but I could only eat part of it cause food still isn't agreeing with me.

But Mr Elena got a nice doggy bag out of it LOL

Amy - Mr Elena likes to sleep with the windows open when there is snow on the ground. I'd like the heat set on high!

ergoproxy said...

lucky Mr Elena!

Amyranth said...

Elena, my mother does too, then she can't figure out why her heat bill in the winter months is around $350 monthly.

Speaking of which, she wants to come live with me.

elena said...

Amy does she really want to live with you? Oh my.

Much as I love my mom I know I just couldn't have her living in my house.

ergoproxy said...

I'm with elena, much as I love them, my parents in the same hose for more than a holiday is a scary thought

Amyranth said...

Well, my sentiments exactly.

Right now, I don't feel like I can really say no. Dad is already here, trying to make money to pay off their bills, and his work is so sporadic that he's been pestering Mom to come out here and work as well so they can get the bills paid up faster.

(Which both Mister and I saw coming a mile away after they moved, but I really should digress.)

So, for now I see no massive problem with it, so long as she realizes that it is my house. I pay the mortgage, and while she is going to be paying rent, that means there's still going to have to be some "kinks" worked out.

I just really hope this is only for a few months, until they get everything caught up and paid off.

elena said...

You have the right attitude Amy but it will be hard for her. I know if I suddenly went to live with Flighty I would have a big problem with the change of roles.

Mister is a good man to be so understanding.

Amyranth said...

Well, Mister's not super excited about it, but were the people changed, he wouldn't be interested in his parents coming to live with us either.

I think just what it comes down to is that Dad handled the transition well. He knows this is my house, and I run it, and he's got little to no problem with how I do things.

My mother, on the other hand, calls me to lecture me about my bills, and the garden, and the housecleaning and...

So, I just hope that when she gets here she's working enough that she's got nothing to complain about when she gets home every night. She won't handle it well if I have to ask her to stop interfering.

toujours said...

hey all.

good to see you here, elena!

i'm just checking in at the moment, because i think i'm going to try to get some pics loaded up over at my flickr.

i don't know if i'll be successful so stop holding your breathe, ergo! *heh*

i'd also like to say that i appreciated the discsussion that took place earlier -- not only was it a pleasure to read real discourse (instead of anonymous arguments), it was an interesting topic.

i've often wondered about the current state of the blog, wondered what it was that was keeping me here...it isn't just the friendships, because i'm able to be in contact with these ladies through many other venues now. i admit, there is a feeling of "sticking it out", but not out of a sense of obligation, no, it's more that as long as mayo is posting, i want to be here to read what he has to say. plus, the sense that this is a home still lingers for me.

i'd love it if we could play more, and talk more. i don't want to believe that all of that had to come from one person, because we've all had our moments of starting tomfoolery here! but we're so sparse on the ground now, it's difficult to strike any sparks.

anyway!

i don't plan on giving up, and i'd love it if i could get to know some of those who currently post anonymously as individual voices. after all, i started out as an anon, too. :)

gonna go make an attempt at chucking some pics at my flickr, back in a bit!

elena said...

Crap Mr Elena just woke up. Gotta go until he leaves for work. Be back later but I wanted to share one of my pics from today...

ergoproxy said...

may it'll be a big adjustment, maybe have a possible back up plan?
But if it's the best thing for them at the moment it may be well worth the period of settling in

ergoproxy said...

hey TJ!

Amyranth said...

Oh Ergo, I have a great back-up plan.

If she starts, my uncle has a basement apartment in his new house. They can both go live with him and I'll stick it out without the extra money. Simple as that.

See you later Elena, and hello Teej! Excellent points.

Amyranth said...

MJ, I'm good, just trying to figure out why my computer is being a twat.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

WTF , can't you eat and talk? Never mind I don't have anything to talk about. Well nothing you guys would know. You all need to start listening to podcast.

They are talking about BlackJack. If you only knew about this stuff.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I am sorry I know nothing of twatish computers. Well I do but for other reasons.

Amyranth said...

BlackJack?

I'm guessing... not the game?

Amyranth said...

Yeah, mine's nothing but a holy pain in the ass to begin with, so I guess it's not much of a surprise.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

No, he is a doctor like House but with an assistant who was a lump of organs taken out of one persons. That he made a body for and gave her a life. After 18 years of being stuck in her twin sister's body.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Holy pain in the ass makes me think bad things. But I was at urban dictnary not to long ago. That is a bad place. Very bad but you learn something. Things that shouldn't be known.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Bones is on and I think I haven't seen this one. At least I hope.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Did I scare you off Amy? Or is the twat being a holly pain in the ass again.

ergoproxy said...

hello again!

MJ I could eat and talk, but when I've been doing stuff all morning I like to sit down with the cat and have a relax while I eat and watch true crime or cooking shows

that Blackjack sounds very strange, is it like a series?

We ahve new Bones on here too, it was on last night, I don't know who it'd match up to your episodes though

Martha Smith-Jones said...

BlackJack is an amine and manga created by Osamu Tezuka. I will find a link.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Do you know what season of Bones you are on? I can't find a blackjack video on you tube but it is on veoh.

toujours said...

hello!

i've seen black jack, it's a good anime, not as bizarre as it sounds lol

ergo, you'll be happy to know i got a batch up at my flickr, all the pics i took at the living history place. i'll put the rest up tomorrow night. will these tide you over until then? :)

toujours said...

i'm good, martha, considering i have to go back to work tomorrow. i donwanna.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

3 I hope you have good hiding places. Maybe I should get the chocholate and candy corn milk out. How about adding a slip and slide to the house. We can add soap and make a lot of foam and have a foam party.

ergoproxy said...

oh thank you TJ they are great!
it is so different to over here and the colours are gorgeous
I do love the one of the little outbuilding with the stone steps

MJ it was the second episode of Series 5

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Tj no body really wants to go back to work.

Ep I think that is from the current season. I know I saw that one. It wasn't bad I liked it.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

It is current. House is on but I have seen this episode and I hate it.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Happy dance!!!!!!

toujours said...

that was their spring house, ergo, although the creek's running very low right now, making it difficult to tell!

ergoproxy said...

I didn't ever watch House, I had a problem taking him seriously after seeing him as a comedian for so many years.
They looked clever though, different to the run of the mill medical dramas that seem to have doctors and nurses shagging each other at the drop of a hat

Martha Smith-Jones said...

It has been so long since I've been on a blog that gets over 200 post that I forgot it is when it hits an even numbder that we get a new page.

Well happy dance anyway. I now have the safty dance stuck in my head.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Ep you have to give it a try. There are some funny bits in it that are great and he uses an American accent. You may just see him as a new person.

ergoproxy said...

I have watched some episodes, they weren't too bad, but I am just not a fan of medical shows in general, unless it is real life stuff.

TJ it's a very cute building, must look lovely with water flowing by it in at well, all surrounded by greenery

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I have ice cream sandwiches and pixie sticks. Anybody want some?

toujours said...

i watch house occasionally, in fact, just caught a couple of episodes tonight -- it did take a little bit to get used to seeing him as a curmudgeon, i was always expecting him to fall into his bertie wooster character. *heh*

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I'm not either but house is a very good show. They should move Dollhouse to the 9 PM time slot behind House. It could do it some good in the ratings.

toujours said...

toujours said...

these are my answers. :)

1. What was the last concert you attended?
drive by at maxwell's in hoboken, nj (with visible naiad!)

2. How many people were there?
it was pretty small, maybe at a guess 30 or 40 people.

3. What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times?
my chem, 14 times. the runners-up are drive by at 8 times, and billy talent at 6 times (all due to last year's road trip).

4. Do you have any set lists? From what bands?
no, i always forget to ask for that stuff. :/

5. Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones?
all my cds are in the next room. does the mp3 player attached to my head count for proximity? *heh*

6. What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
my chem, always. i'd like to be in the crowd for a bouncing souls show, again, too.

7. Have you ever been on a tour bus?
nope.

8. Have you ever partied with a band?
the lashes bought everyone pizza after their show once, so if hanging around a venue eating pizza together counts, then oh boy you betcha. :)

9. How many states/provinces have you been to concerts in?
washington, oregon, california, kansas, ohio, missouri, minnesota, pennsylvania, new york, and new jersey.

10. What bands did you see live the month of May?
no shows in may for me. :(

11. What CD are you addicted to at the moment?
the black parade. i always end up listening to it at this time of year.

12. Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can't stand?
i went through a strong anti-beatles phase there for awhile. however, now i consider myself neutral.

13. Have you ever been on anyone's guest list?
nope.

14. Last band person that you got a picture with?
i don't normally think that fast, but i did get a pic taken with steve righ? at projekt rev 2007, for some reason.

15. Do you consider yourself a groupie?
i get this question occasionally when people find out i followed a band on the road for a bit, but ew, no.

16. If you were to name a boy and a girl after any band... what would you name them?
for a boy, simon (yes...after simon le bon. *cough*), and ummm...bjork for a girl? idk, never really thought about it before. not a mom.

17. How old were you when you went to your first concert?
i was in my 30's.

18. Who was it?
it was the local radio christmas show with my chem and about a half-dozen other acts.

19. Which artists haven't you seen yet that you want to see?
i would really like to see muse, even before ergo began to influence me! *hee*

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I don't go to shows very much. The last show I went to was mcr. I used to work as event secrity when I was younger so I would see all kinds of people live. I really have to like a band to want to see them live. I don't think there is any point to me answering those questions. most of them would be 0 or not in a long time. Sorry.

toujours said...

wow! first time i went over the character limit!

here's the second half. *oops*

20. Are you wearing a band shirt right now?
sort of; i'm wearing my projekt rev t-shirt. (poor thing, it's about ready to be retired!)

21. What band do you own the most merch of? (excluding music)
probably my chem, especially as i just took advantage of their recent sale to buy two t-shirts.

22. Do you ever do anything crazy at shows?
i seem to have a knack for shouting out when the crowd goes into a quiet lull; otherwise, i once did an impromptu spell during a show, inspired by the music and using it as the vehicle for the magic.

23. What are your favourite venues to go to shows at?
i like small venues and medium-sized clubs. i like to actually see the band perform.

24. What band do you have the most performance pictures of?
i have a small handful of out-of-focus pics of my chem (and one of julien k) from projekt rev, and then i realized that i was wasting my time, and stopped trying.

25. Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band?
maybe, but i'm saving up for my pagan ones, first.

26. How many concerts do you average a year?
the math works out to 9.5 concerts a year (but this year is definitely at the low end of the scale).

27. Upcoming shows?
none. *weeps*

28. List every band (or artist) you've EVER seen live, no matter how obscure.
brace yourself, i like to go to festivals!
in rough chronological order: pete yorn, angels & airwaves, jet, gnarls barkley, taking back sunday, my chemical romance, the shins, the bled, mindless self indulgence, julien k, placebo, h.i.m., linkin park, the cops, crowded house, the lashes, schoolyard heroes, gym class heroes, panic! at the disco, the kooks, she wants revenge, spoon, coheed & cambria, jimmy eat world, modest mouse, ships, the lonely h, kay kay and his weathered underground, our last night, the morning light, the cab, my evolution, four year strong, a rocket to the moon, rookie of the year, streetlight manifesto, rx bandits, story of the year, bouncing souls, the audition, paramore, the all-american rejects, from first to last, mxpx, escape the fate, drive by, billy talent, the color fred, anti-flag, the bravery, panoramic blue, jet lag gemini

toujours said...

that's okay martha, you don't have to answer them if you don't want to.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I didn't say I didn't want to answe them. My answers wouldn't be intresting. I don't go to show anymore. I can't think of anyone coming here I want to see.

ergoproxy said...

oh wow TJ!
I used to go to concerts when I was younger too MJ, now it takes a lot of effort as we live so far from the venues in the capital most performers go to.
So it has to be special to fork out for plane tickets and just can't afford it too often

toujours said...

well, this year i haven't done very well at being a concert-goer...i hope i'll get back up to speed next year. :)

I think you are lying about "apeshit", I've seen Kapu lose her cool and make fun but have never once seen her go berserk like the others have.

Also as an anon, her and her friends were always nice to me from day one.

Maybe that's because I was never an ass to them. I could understand her getting defensive because of the way she was treated, more than anyone else.

goodnight tj

Anonymous said...

Thanks for posting these tj, these questions are fun to answer :)

1. What was the last concert you attended? Last summer at Rockstar Mayhem Fest. I went to go see Machine Head.

2. How many people were there? Quite a lot, but not so much that it was super crowded.

3. What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times? Probably only MCR, about four times. I'm still waiting for Evanescence to start touring again. They put on a great show last time I seen them.

4. Do you have any set lists? From what bands? Nope. I like spontaneity, as long as the songs aren't boring or slow.

5. Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones? Testament's the Formation of Damnation, Vio-lence Eternal Nightmare, Devildriver's Pray for Villains; I also have a cd from an unknown Finnish band called For My Pain, Amon Amarth's Twilight of the Thunder God(Awesome cd) Metallica's Master of Puppets, Machine Head's Through the Ashes of Empires.

6. What band are you in the mood to see live right this second? Machine Head. Their live show is absolute killer, better than most shows I've been to. Arch Enemy would be next.

7. Have you ever been on a tour bus? No. I do see a lot of them when I travel though.

8. Have you ever partied with a band? I wish.

9. How many states/provinces have you been to concerts in? About one. The Bay Area would be awesome to visit and see some of the thrash bands over there.

10. What bands did you see live the month of May? None, sadly.

11. What CD are you addicted to at the moment? I've never really listened to them until now, but Alice in Chain's latest Black Gives Way To Blue is actually pretty good. Jerry Cantrell reminds me so much of my old crush that it's scary.
12. Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can't stand? MCR. I outgrew them.

13. Have you ever been on anyone's guest list? Sadly, no.

14. Last band person that you got a picture with? MCR. That was ages ago.

15. Do you consider yourself a groupie? I do not. I don't do that.

16. If you were to name a boy and a girl after any band... what would you name them? Probably after Dimebag Darrell. He's still a guitar god, even when he's no longer with us.

17. How old were you when you went to your first concert? About 11 or 12.

18. Who was it? the Backstreet Boys.

19. Which artists haven't you seen yet that you want to see? Nightwish, Within Temptation, Arch Enemy, Devildriver, the 69 Eyes, Luna Mortis.

20. Are you wearing a band shirt right now? Nope. My band shirts are around here somewhere.

21. What band do you own the most merch of? (excluding music)Probably none of the above. I have a Evanescence and Machine Head hoodie, but that's about it.

22. Do you ever do anything crazy at shows? Maybe if I'm drunk enough. I get happy when I'm drinking.

23. What are your favourite venues to go to shows at? Aragon Ballroom, House of Blues, any small intimate theater. I can't stand arenas. I'd love to visit some of the clubs in Helsinki.

24. What band do you have the most performance pictures of? Haha, none. Most places I go to, they don't allow cameras, the fuckers.

25. Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band? Yes.

26. How many concerts do you average a year? About two or so.

27. Upcoming shows? Probably the Arch Enemy/Exodus show in January.

28. List every band (or artist) you've EVER seen live, no matter how obscure. Backstreet Boys more than once, O-town when they were still together, MCR, Machine Head, HIM, Evanescence.

Mayo

Well today I rejoined the Land of the Living. Yep, I got out of the house for almost the whole day. I even went out to dinner with Mom and Stormy. It felt good but now, I’m tired. What really sucks it that I wanted to spend some time writing tonight because today as I trampled over beautifully colored leaves in graveyards my mind was churning out some great storylines. Crap, I really hope I don’t forget them. I suppose some would just wonder why I don’t write down the basic ideas but I can’t write like that. I’ve never been able to write a story using an outline. I simply sit down and let the ideas flow into sentences. (And yes I know sometimes the flow becomes a flood and I have really, really long run-on sentences) But the fact remains that is just how I write. Damn, I wish I wasn’t so tired right now. Oh well, maybe tomorrow those ideas will still be floating around in my head just waiting to flow.

Anyway I wanted to share a few photos from today before I leave. The first is a gravestone that was spotted by Mom. It was hard to read at first but after some removal of clinging crud we found that the stone belonged to a father and son who has been “massacred by Cheyenne Indians in 1874” The father was 42, his son only 14.

Father and son

But it was the next one that truly caused me to pause, reflect and shed a tear. The stone shows the faces of 5 babies, two of which were twins. I just stood there reading the names and dates feeling such an incredible sadness and wondering how a mother and father could survive such heartbreaking losses. It made me wonder if they ever had any children that survived to adulthood.

So Sad

I did take more photos and I’ll share them tomorrow night but now since my eyes are closing I must say goodnight.

As always, from my heart, I hope you had a wonderful day. Take care.

Night Mayo

Elena (yeah you get a nag-free night)

mayo,

i've been reading at night -- it's so cozy to feel like the only one awake, your only companions the people in the book you're reading.

but can't do that tonight, unfortunately!

and that means i will probably miss the night chorus...

the last two nights, at around 1 am or so, i have heard coyotes wailing in the fields nearby, chilling howls that almost sound like sirens. hearing them always startles me, always immediately makes the night vast and the walls of the house very thin. very breachable.

and yet, there's a part of my heart that thrills to the sound, too. i want to rush to the window to see them and pull the covers up over my head, all at the same time.

and those are the fields i will ramble through, come saturday.

you can be sure i will not be holding my samhain observance after dark, this year! *grin*

it's good to be scared though. it's good to be reminded that we aren't the only creatures that can be dangerous.

i like what hearing the coyotes does to the dark.

good night, mayo. take care, and sweet dreams (even if you do hear howling...)

Dexter is so far pretty good. my net is acting up, it keeps stoping. If you get a chance you should watch it. I think you will enjoy it.

Hello Elena and Tj,

You guys are just hearing about the Live action Cowboy bebop. Been hearing about this for a while.

keanu reeves really loves CB and he is using his weight in Hollywood to get it done. Still until they say they are filming the movie i wouldn't get worried or hopeful. It will probably end up getting shelved like Leo Dicaprio's live action Akria did or the Robotech movie, Voltron movie and many others.

How ya'll doing? I hope you had a great time in Alabama!

I'm doing okay, despite lack of sleep last night, and I'm spending my time doing some school searching. Chocolate I guess is doing okay, but I haven't gotten him back yet. I reckon he's gonna be staying at his new family's place for a while.

Bugsy is still destroying everything as usual, but he's okay, lol.

How's the fur babies?

Anonymous said...

I love that song! Thanks Wendy :D

Anon616 said...

I LOVE that song too, Sweetcheeks! I was torn between that one and Charon's "Bitter Joy" (Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto sings both of them and he has such a sexy voice). But, in the end, LOVE won!

:P

What kind of school searching are you doing? Are you thinking of changing schools or going back to the same one?

Bugsy sounds like a little stick of dynamite! He would get along great with Tinker Belle!

Ohhh... I bet Chocolate misses you as much as you miss him. I hope he can return to you, soon!!!

My fur babies went "nuts" when mommy returned home. I swear, they acted as though I had been gone 5 years! And, I must confess, I did CALL THEM.

Yes, I did! I talked through the answering machine just so they could hear "mommy's" voice! Just so they knew mommy did not abandon them and was coming home soon.

:P

Patches (my male/oldest kitty) is still a bit miffed at me for leaving though! Oh well, he'll get over it... sooner or later!

Anonymous said...

Awwwww your fur babies sound so cute Wendy, they probably miss you tons.

As for me, I am somewhat seriously thinking of switching schools before the spring semester begins.
Somewhere along Arkansas or Lousiana. I need a change of pace.

Too much of the same thing bores me, and honestly, the college I'm at doesn't offer that much in terms of what I want in a major.

Anon616 said...

Pick Louzianna, Sweetcheeks! Pick Louzianna!!!!

On second thought, that might not be such a good "educational" decision. Not with me around! I would would probably, always, be dragging you out somewhere!

;)

Have you looked into schools in Alabama? You could be near Bre and I could go visit the both of you!

I have to run ~ again; but, I'll talk to you later, Sweetcheeks!!! I missed you!!!!!

Have a good night and try not to get into too much trouble (without me, that is)!

*huge hugs and sloppy kisses*

I'm thinking of maybe Shreveport or New Orleans sugarplum. I'm serious enough about this that I'm planning on saving up some money.

Life's too short.

Anyways, thanks Wendy, talk to you later!

LOL that's okay too, I need someone to drag my ass out of the house anyways, and I think NOLA has a great music scene.

hey all, just stopping in on my way out onto the internet. *heh*

wendy, i knew you'd have a nice big block of bands to list for the last question!

the anon's answers made me realize i inadvertently lied on mine -- i totally did not take into consideration anything that happened before three years ago! i feel that's when my life started over, and i forget that the old me did a few things, too.

my actual first concert was when i was 12, my mom took us younger girls to spokane to see roger whittaker (my mom was a total fangirl for him *hee*). he taught everyone how to whistle. lol

my next shows weren't until college, and by that time i was deeply ensconced in medievalism and world music (and had met my ex who was a country music aficionado), so we saw paul winter and tanya tucker and john denver and the judds, as well as whatever was playing at the art center on campus: dave brubeck trio, chamber orchestras, and so on.

i even almost got to see they might be giants, but that was after we had been married for years, and i was struggling with social anxiety. my ex bought tickets for my birthday one year, but i was too afraid to go to the show.

but my chem was my first real concert. that's way it feels and that's the way i remember it. :)

mayo,

well, spent tonight looking for inspiration for saturday. i have some ideas about what i want my focus to be, but it's always interesting to poke around the pagan side of the internet and see what other folk are doing.

anyway, get this: last night, instead of going right to bed like a good girl, i sat on the floor in the dark by the window in my room, watching the night, listening for every sound that might turn into a coyote howl.

i sat there for the longest time, with nothing but a flimsy temporary screen between me and any coyotes that might have seen fit to call. i watched the stars, got cold to the touch, and finally realized that i was shorting the hours of sleep left to me by sitting there...

but it was good. when i first sat down, the night air calmed me, and i was able to pray. (my head isn't always quiet enough to do that very successfully these days...) i also saw a shooting star, and heard dogs a mile away bark (no doubt at the coyotes passing by), and heard, too, the occasional rustle of something walking through the grass...

maybe i wasn't shivering from just the cold when i finally climbed into bed. *grin*

good night, mayo, and sweet dreams.

Mayo
A husband and wife were sitting watching a TV program about psychology and mixed emotions when he turned to his wife and said,

"Honey, that's a bunch of crap; I bet you can't tell me anything that will make me happy and sad at the same time."

She said, "You have the biggest penis of all your friends."
much love EP xx

SS
A wife buys a pair of crotchless knickers in an attempt to spice up a dead sex-life.

She puts them on, together with a short skirt and sits on the sofa opposite her husband.

At the odd moment she crosses her legs ... just enough times till her husband says, "Are you wearing crotchless knickers?"

"Yes," she answers, seductively.

"Thank goodness for that. I thought the stuffing was coming out of the sofa!"
lotsa love EP xx

goodnight blogbelieve, see you in my morning

LOL Ergo Funny Jokes!

Good to see you back Wendy.

Couldn't get on the Net last night. Stupid Hughes Net FAPed me. The girls had both downloaded stuff and so that's what happened. I hate Hughes Net with a firey passion.

So anyway, I'm at the store and wishing I was outside. It's a beautiful, crisp day! Much too nice to be inside.

Mayo - Halloween is fast approaching (nudge nudge)

SS - Are you ready for tricks or treats?

Hope everyone is having a great day. (Shit I'm starting to sound like a Wal-Mart greeter)

Take care
