At the Home

I hate to see you
When you're falling apart
Can't you start over, again?

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her chair
Keeps her windows shut
To keep out the air

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her bed
Spends all her pastime
Mulled in her dread

What keeps her living
Is her fear of being
Anywhere other than here
So they’ll feed her too much
Or it’s never enough,
Then it's fuck you
“Get the hell out of here!"

Elizabeth stumbles
Over everything I've said
Pining words are useless
Pushed round in her head

The mystery was my bravery
I never knew what I'd get
Will it be her fear or regret?
Her confusion my denial?
Walked her shoes a while
Now she can’t turn back
So she said then she’ll stay
And I will walk away

Elizabeth mumbles
Over and over my name
Forgetting tomorrow
Will never be the same

She’s repeating her beating
Did you bring her a drink?
Why are you leaving?
What the hell do you think?
That she’ll fuck you
To get the hell out of here

Elizabeth tumbles
Out onto the floor
With an abandon of reason
It is herself abhorred

She sat alone in her room
Pouring over her gloom
Never got out of her chair
And they don't even care
Now that they’ve all receded
Into the ground or fleeted
To the wormholes
And woodwork back there

You'll find repair
Where that memory
Becomes illusory

Look, again?

p.s. in the end it is what you think you will get.

Now, how about an apology to OPJ for falsely accusing her?

Anonymous said...

I didn't think so. I know you won't show up until you think I've left, so I'll save you the trouble of guessing. You can talk shit all day long if you want. Be nice if you would just go back to your new place and leave the others alone, but I guess you don't have the decency to let them have some peace. Have fun with that.

Anonymous said...

OK OPJ, sure.

Anonymous said...

Face it. Even from a distance we can smell you.

I've left you at least six questions anon. Start talking
.

This ain't a command thing.

Anonymous said...

How often has OPJ bitched that "oh you never answer while I am on" and demanded START TALKING!

Too often.

OPJ, just give it up please.

Oh wait, is this "I am not OPJ but I am her friend and I talk like her" anon again??

lol

I'm still waiting for you to answer my question. Where did I ever say anything about another blog?

Anonymous said...

You have got to be kidding me. You ripped Mayo a new one for it, tore into others for doing it, and now have the gall to write this? So, has Mayo showed up there yet? You left enough clues.

a super seekrut blog? i totally missed the clues. wonder if mayo and ss missed them too.

Anonymous said...

Oh I loved that. "I am not OPJ. I am her friend, I talk just like her on purpose and I say the things she wants to say when she's not here to say them."

You are the same one who said "I'm not OPJ but I'm her friend and I use some of her phrases" right?

That was classic OPJ!

Anonymous said...

"You have got to be kidding me. You ripped Mayo a new one for it, tore into others for doing it, and now have the gall to write this?"

Does it make you feel better to think you know thy enemy? That it must be someone who you have preset insults for? Think again. You owe her an apology. Whether you give it or not is up to you.

Anonymous said...

OPJ you owe everyone an apology for this mess today.

Anonymous said...

3:53 do you have trouble understanding plain words? I don't care how much you want my words to be someone elses they are not going to be! You sound like a broken record. What is it that you can't comprehend? That no one else could see you for what you are? I don't get you. Do you have to blame someone for your own messes?

Anonymous said...

I know you're trying to re-direct the subject, 3:53. Is there anyone else you want to drag over the coals? Any other skeletal horseys you want to wail on?

Anonymous said...

Again, OPJ's words!

you are too funny.......

"I know you're trying to re-direct the subject, 3:53. Is there anyone else you want to drag over the coals? Any other skeletal horseys you want to wail on?"

Word for word OPJ. WORD FOR WORD.

It would be funny if it wasn't soooo sad.....

Anonymous said...

Oh, shit, you're right! I forgot OPJ had the patent for "sound like a broken record." Oh, well, I guess I should go with something else so I don't get sued!

You sound like...a broken car alarm.

YOU would be funny if you weren't so pitiful.

Jeez, is this bullying Sunday?

Anonymous said...
While you're at it, why don't you tell me why you felt the need to come in here and attack a group of people who are not here right now, and no one was talking about anyone else. There were attempts to try to help and asking everyone to play nice. What do you gain? Everyone here has heard all this before. You aren't going to change anyone's mind. So why?

Sadly, 4:18, it seems to be bullying everyday now. It started out promising, but some can't leave it alone.

Anything in that comment that should have a copyright attached, 4:07?

Anonymous said...

Anon, if you did not read people being horrible to other when on other blogs and being nice here then where did you read it?

I suggest, again, that you re-read my original comment.

Anonymous said...

Are you finished here? Can the ones you left behind come back out to play? Are you ready to go back to your drama free happy seekret blog and talk about everyone else? Or do you have more insults ready to cut and paste? Since they are all so horrible, I would imagine you would want to leave here and have nothing more to do with them, ever!

Can I say that? Was it all my words, or did I use theirs again?

Anonymous said...

What a sad way to spend Sunday. You appear to have been here for hours attacking people who are not here to respond.

I'm just happy I don't know you in real life-I imagine you are the class/workplace bully. A friendless nightmare to be around.

*shudder*

Hi Mayo!!

boy we had a great day yesterday!!!

I'll post some pics shortly, we ended up with 20 crabs (though we caught more jenny's and undersize go back) and of the keeper fish I caught a nice big rock cod, and hubby caught a flathead as did our mate (I caught 2 too small ones) but we got to keep all the fish as he already has heaps at home, and we split the crabs.

Baby girl had a great day too, she hooked so many fish, we were all wondering what her knack was!! all too small to keep though, but can now bait her own hooks and did some not too bad casts on her own.

Had some crabs for dinner last night, now today I will be picking the meat out of the others to freeze, then fish and chips for dinner tonight!!

Weather was good too, it was a bit overcast which made it cooler, though we had to dodge 2 decent showers of rain. Today looks a bit miserable though.

hope everyone is having a nice weekend

Hey Kol and everyone else! Hope you are all well.

The word from all sources is that the Kings will be playing Use Somebody at the MTV Awards. Personally I would love for them to do Closer, but Notion would be great too. What would really be great is if they could do one of their harder rocking songs like Black Thumbnail or Slow Night So Long. That would bring the house down. :)

Nobody but the Kings could get me to watch an MTV awards show, but I will most definitely be watching tonight. :D

Anonymous said...

I think there is definitely tension within the band. Anyone else notice that Frank is no longer following Gerard or Ray on twitter?

Kol 2 said...

Word. For. Fuckin. Word. Meffers.

How many in blues has she asked that question in that same accusing tone?

Must have been her because no two people can use the same words can they? Unless it was one of the cult followers. They often pick up the language of their master, lord and saviour.

Hi Ergo.

It is great to see the band doing so well, but at the same time it sucks just a little. I haven't been a fan as long as Kol anon and I'll probably never get to see them play in a small venue like she has. They even have the paparazzi following them around now. :(

I'm happy for their success, but I wish I had been there all along.

ergoproxy said...

hi KOL2
I hope you do get so see them more intimately one day. They seem like modest guys so they may want to keep touring smaller places if they can.
I know what you mean about missing the real early days of a band, they tend to be more accessible in that stage.
I was lucky with MUSE, I knew of them but didn't really get into them until a bit later,as they still aren't huge outside of the UK and don't get heaps of mainstream airplay here, so when they toured here it was at a smallish outdoor venue so I was able to be quite close, then I saw HAARP at Wembly and realised how fortunate I was!!

Italian Tomato Garden:

An old Italian lived alone in New Jersey. He
wanted to plant his annual summer tomato garden,
but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard.

His only son, Alfonso, who used to help him, was in prison.
The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his
predicament:

Alfonso,
I am feeling pretty sad, because it looks like I won't
be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old
to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would
be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the
old days.

Love, Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Pop,
Don't dig up that garden. That's where all the bodies
are buried.

Love,
Alfonso

At 4 a.m. The next morning, FBI agents and local
police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They
apologized to the old man and left.

That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Pop,

Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I
could do under the circumstances.

Love you,
Alfonso

Ergo!!!! Here's a "good bit"! It's just not from the MTV Movie awards; but, it's damn good!

CRAWL!!!!The lyrics for anyone who would like/love to sing along:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crawl
Kings Of Leon
You fault my pride
Dont ever need to 'pologize
As your lips unfold
Shaken purple from the cold
You better learn to crawl
You better learn to crawl
Before I walk away
Before I walk away
You broke my mouth
The bloody bits are spitting out
Is your grave unscathed
The worm is counting down the days
He wants to see you crawl
He wants to see you crawl
Before I walk away
Before I walk away
The reds and the whites and abused
The crucified USA
As their hypocrisy unfolds
Oh hell is truly on its way
As the rat, and the fly
Theyre searching for an alibi
As we await the wrath
They never went to Sunday Mass
They want to see us crawl
They want to see us crawl
Before they walk away
Before they walk away
The reds and the whites and abused
The crucified USA
As their hypocrisy unfolds
Oh hell is truly on its way
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I really do love, love, love, love, LOVE that one! Yes, I am aware I mentioned that earlier. No, I am not drunk (but that anon comment did give me another serious case of the giggles). Thank you to the anon who posted that one! You're almost as cute as Miley!

Anon616 said...

Welcome back, Elena!!! I missed you whist you were gone! I'm sorry to hear about the casino taking all your money. That's usually what they do to me too. Which is why I haven't been to a casino in years!

Ohhh... did I ever tell you about what happened to my mother's hair dressing after winning a measley $150 dollars at a casino?

She was followed home by 3 men and these men waited until she, her husband and their grandson all went to bed. Then, the 3 men broke into their house and went into the bedroom where all three of them were sleeping...
started screaming at them and demanding to know where the money was.

Beat the crap out of her husband and shot him.

The only reason they are not all dead (probably) is because their grandson screamed at the 2 who were beating his grandpa to "stop hitting my paw~paw".

That distracted the criminals long enough for Mrs. S's husband to grab his gun (which he keeps under his mattress) and shoot two of them!

The third one ran before he could be shot. The other two ran after being shot.

All three of them were caught and arrested a few hours later.

Her husband is still going through surgeries for his shoulder though. He worked construction and he'll never be able to work again. All for what? Because some pieces of crap wanted $150 and had NO problem trying to kill a man, woman and a child for it.

"vulva on horseback" not a phrase you commonly see!

toujours said...

well...not if you're not a medievalist! lol

there's actually a book out there that examines the whole subject of those badges. lots of examples.

we had it in the library i used to work at. difficult to find it on the shelf.

ergoproxy said...

I imagine there are some fascinating stories behind the designs, A lot of medieval stuff was very symbolic. My dad has a book on medieval artwork and it was wonderful to read

toujours said...

a lot of those are carnival designs, but you're right in that medieval stuff was always loaded with symbolism. most people couldn't read -- literacy wasn't common until just after chaucer and even then it was more something you did as a social thing. reading alone silently in the corner was rare!

so there was a whole language of symbols, all the stained glass windows in churches, the badges, plaster paintings in manor houses...

it's one of the reasons i love that period for art, it's so rich.

annnnnnd, now i'm stepping away from the lectern!

ergoproxy said...

it's ok TJ it's interesting

toujours said...

lol ok, ergo. :)

if you're sure!

actually, the whole thing about reading is something i was fascinated to learn about -- the performance of it, and how we've totally lost that aspect of it (which i think shows the growing sense of the individual over the centuries, sometimes not a good thing...)

also, this has also amused me, the fact that glasses were invented not too long after universities were, and in the same city!

students were ruining their eyesight. lol

the price one pays for literacy. *sigh*

ergoproxy said...

I liked the idea of the minstrels retelling stories, wandering from town to town, must have been great to experience, I think that is why I liked Anne McCaffrey, it's that some sort of atmosphere

toujours said...

ooh, yes, i got that vibe from her books, too -- and the position music had in her world, even though i've never been a musician when i was reading her books i felt like i was getting a glimpse into that world, especially with the killashandra ree books too.

ergoproxy said...

Oh yes
I agree, it was one of my favourite aspects of her worlds

I really loved the concept of crystal singing, it sounded so magical but dangerous
I think it'd make a great movie

oh yeah it would, i can see it! unless they mess it up like the scifi channel did inexplicably with the wizard of earthsea.

you know, her book restoree would make a great movie, too.

ergoproxy said...

it would be a movie I would be worried about, wanting them to get it right
I got such vivid images from her books, I'd worry a movie wouldn't "look" like it should

me, too. and wouldn't it be weird to hear those names spoken aloud? robinton is no big deal, but piemur? menolly?

ergoproxy said...

I did love the glossary of names she always had, and the maps, the number of times I would have to refer to them during reading!!

toujours said...

fantasy books with maps are a particular weakness of mine! there's a supplemental book written by jody nye (i think) that is nothing but maps -- each of the holds, cutaway diagrams and maps of each of the weyrs, timelines...

that's where i found the klah recipe, in fact. all of it written in conjunction with anne mccaffrey, so it's accurate.

mayo,

so it's the last day of may, and the merry month comes to an end. i've enjoyed the poetry on the blog this month, for some reason. it made me feel like it was beltane all month long, even though we have lovely poetry here all the time. my brain makes its own connections, go figure.

but i had the house to myself this evening, and it was such a beautiful one, too, i just couldn't stay inside. i had been in front of the tv all day practically, having myself a nice gorge on motogp and superbike racing, and the contrast of the peaceful delicate evening with the speed and fervor of the afternoon was delicious.

i took my journal out with me and sat, scribbling until i could barely make out the page. i'd look up to watch swallows swooping everywhere, or take another long drink of the bright quarter moon. the air was dusted with the songs of birds and insects, and the sky was pink at the edges, like a shell shaved thin and held up to a lamp.

it's weird, i was writing about sad things, purging some fears and doubts, but the experience was a peaceful one, gentle and nourishing even with my mind dwelling on what scares and hurts me.

i stayed out there until the fireflies were darting around in their loopy liquid fashion.

you know, all those quotes today, the ones about looking forward...sometimes it isn't easy to see past what frightens you, it blocks the hopeful future you might otherwise see. i truly try to go forward, to always be travelling toward my best self, but i still get blocked by my doubts. i've learned that eventually my optimism will return, that was a hard-won lesson and no doubt about it. but i still have times where i sink in upon myself; maybe i always will.

when i'm without hope, i am sure that that's my true self, and the other is just a pollyanna fantasy. when i'm optimistic, then i know that the sadness is just a storm that obscures me.

i think maybe they are both true. i'm both.

so this perfect evening at the end of may nurtured me, even while i was tearing at my heart on the page.

go figure.

good night, mayo. if you can, take some time this new month to sit outside in the quiet growing night and wait for the first star to make an appearance. (it's even better if you sit with a friend with whom you can share silent moments.)

And

Well, it was three weeks before I finally got to see it, and I'm completely with all of you that have seen and commented about it, already - Star Trek is utterly fantastic! Even better than expected. Just, wow!

And WTH, a sci-fi that makes you cry at the beginning?! Oh wait, that was probably just me lol

Unfortunately for female* sci-fi convention cosplay enthusiasts**, around the world, this uniform did not make it on screen.And while still in film geekiness mode, Transformers2 is also looking good. Missed the first film, but will make the effort for this one! Hieroglyphs linking ancient civilisations; a very effing big baddie who wants the dudes brain - super!

Good morning!

To Wendy and anybody else who managed to make it through those horrendous MTV Movie Awards, I offer my sincere condolences. I admit, I think Robert Pattinson is cute as hell, especially when he speaks with his real accent, but even he couldn't redeem the awful shitfest that was Twilight. The only way you can watch that film is to get drunk and pretend it's a comedy.

Incidentally, how wasted was KStew?

For those of you who didn't watch, here is the Kings of Leon performance.

They were excellent as always, although the production wasn't all that great. The idiot camera man managed not to get a single shot of Jared up until his solo back-up vocal near the end of the song, and he crowd pretty much sucked as well. Overall, I'd have to say the Brit Award performance was much better.

Oh, and while I'm at it, I might as well put up their acceptance speeches at the Brit Awards. ^_^

Here they are accepting the Best International Group Award. You just can't help but love Nathan. ^_^

This one is for winning Best International Album. They were very sweet and gracious and I love how they thanked their Mom. ^_^

I promised KOL 2 I would post some Jared picspam (and possibly some Matt, since he doesn't get nearly enough love) later, so you'll probably be hearing from me again soon.

Have a great Monday.

Sing the song of the moment...

VII

Sing the song of the moment in careless carols, in the transient light of the day;
Sing of the fleeting smiles that vanish and never look back;
Sing of the flowers that bloom and fade without regret.
Weave not in memory’s thread the days that would glide into nights.
To the guests that must go bid God-speed, and wipe away all traces of their steps.
Let the moments end in moments with their cargo of fugitive songs.

With both hands snap the fetters you made with your own heart chords;
Take to your breast with a smile what is easy and simple and near.
Today is the festival of phantoms that know not when they die.
Let your laughter flush in meaningless mirth like twinkles of light on the ripples;
Let your life lightly dance on the verge of Time like a dew on the tip of a leaf.
Strike in the chords of your harp the fitful murmurs of moments.

Hello Mayo, SS, MissT, Ergo, Elena, KOL anon, Possum, other anons and lurkers!

How are you all on this first day of hurricane season 2009? Good, I hope!

That plane crash is such a tragedy. Ergo and Elena, I think about all the family members, friends and loved ones affected by tragedies like this too. The number of the victims is so much higher than 228.
:(

Ergo: I hope you enjoyed a nice, dry walk!

Elena: I hope you enjoyed that chocolate!!!

MissT: Exactly what have you been doing at that gym? Hmmm.... any extracurricula/after hours workouts involved in this exhaustion?
;)

KOL anon: Thanks for the Brit Award links!!!! I thought both acceptance speeches were great! I love how Nathan strutted down that aisle with his glass of red wine. Didn't spill one drop either!!!

I think Caleb and Jared should both speak more often, too!!!

Speaking of hurricanes (as I did mentioned the start of the season up there), here are a couple of uplifting stories:

~St. Augustine ~ the Marching 100 ~ will rise again!!!~

They really are getting there!!!

~St. Aug Marching 100 back in 1996~

Today, Jessie Pullings was finally reunited with his beloved dog JJ. After almost 4 years of being seperated JJ's "new people" and the shelter that adopted him out FINALLY agreed to return JJ to Mr. Pullings.

Many Katrina pets are still missing and their families are still searching for them, hoping to be reunited.

~Lost Katrina Pets~

That is all for now. Enjoy the evening/day, everyone!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

how is everyone?

i wanted to share this -- my mom got it at church yesterday, i thought it was giggleworthy.

it's a little rock, tied up in a piece of fabric and tied to it is this paper:
I'm your little prayer rock
and this is what I'll do:
Just put me on your pillow
til the day is through.
Then turn back the covers
and climb into your bed,
And "WHACK!" your little prayer
rock will hit you on the head.
Then you will remember,
as the day is through,
To kneel and say your prayers
as you wanted to.
Then when you are finished
just dump me on the floor,
I'll stay there through the night
to give you help once more.
When you get up the next morning
"CLINK!" I'll stub your toe,
So you will remember
your morning prayers before you go.
Put me back upon your pillow
when your bed is made,
And your clever little pillow rock
will continue in your aid
.

*heehee*
the poem isn't a masterpiece, but it was funny nonetheless!

I do know what you mean TJ, some shows I end up deciding not to keep watching
this guy was creepy, so matter of fact, despite what he was confessing
they showed the courtroom stuff

now it's The New Detectives

i remember reading helter skelter back in jr high, and it affected me for days, not just the horror of it but because it was my first glimpse of how alien our minds can become. i walked through the halls at school looking at my classmates and wondering who might be capable of commiting crimes like that and yet still believe that their actions were justifiable. it was like it pulled away the surface of what i had been taught...

anyway!
what did you do today? i saw you took a wet walk, those are fun. :)

ergoproxy said...

I did!
It started with light drizzle just halfway down the raod, I'd already walked twice so I stopped when I got back to the car so it was only 3km instead of my usual 4
but eh, I'm not worried

since then I have washed some towels to hang under the veranda as it's still raining and picked the meat out of the last 5 crabs to make crab cakes for dinner

and I agree with the thoughts about how the mind can go, plus if anyone takes out insurance policies on you, that is a reason to be worried it seems. So often it's "So and so was found accidentally killed/was murdered....looked as if it was a random thing/accident... husband/wife convicted of murder..... had just taken out a $25 000 life insurance policy...."

ergoproxy said...

what have you been up to?

toujours said...

i love rainy walks, i always think it's the freshest and sweetest air. :)

i didn't do much today, tried to find a doctor to go to but it's almost impossible when you don't have health insurance. one doctor wanted $120 upfront, their standard new patient fee!

so that tanked. my boss's daughter is a r.n., i'll call her tomorrow and get some free advice. *heh*

and then i slept.

i was just going to take a nap, and i conked out for the whole afternoon!

sheesh.

I hope you feel better soon, the US health system is so bad compared to ours

toujours said...

that sounds like it'd be really neat, ergo! i'll take a look next time i'm at the library. :)

and yeah, healthcare in the states is not a sure thing, that's for sure. there's good and bad, though -- the hospital i went through my cancer treatment at had such a great financial hardship program i was able to get all my treatments, and was only charged a fraction of the cost. i wouldn't have been able to do them, otherwise. each chemo alone was $8000, and i had eight of them! plus the radiation?

i'd be dead.

so there are programs and doctors who want to see that people get their care over seeing the profits. i was lucky in that situation. :)

i should probably say good night, though! i have to go to work tomorrow. that's going to be fun.

talk to you later, ergo! hope the crabcakes turn out delicious (though i know they will)!

Mayo

Okay so here’s the deal. I am in an extreme amount of pain right now. I totally blame the mushrooms. No, I didn’t eat them I moved them. Big old heavy fuckers made of cement and standing in my flower garden. Yesterday I got the bright idea that I’d just move them around. So I picked up the first one and felt this strange feeling in my back. I didn’t think much about it at the time but this morning getting out of bed was a new dimension in pain. There is a lovely knot must under my right shoulder blade. It was so bad earlier that the fingers on my right hand started to go numb. So was we speak (in a matter of speaking) I’ve taken a strong pain pill and am drinking a rum and coke. Yes, I know it’s bad to mix the two but right now I don’t care. Hell, typing this hurts.

Anyway just a bit ago I was outside laying in the back of the truck (it actually felt good on my back for a short time) looking at the fireflies. I snapped a pic with my phone and wanted to share it. I think it came out creepy and I love it. This is a pic of the woodshop. The little green glowing light at the top is a firefly. I do share some weird things with you, Mayo.

Okay then, I’m going to try to find someplace to get comfortable. I don’t think that’s possible but I’m gonna try. Take care.

mayo,

last night after turning off the computer, instead of going to bed, i found myself following the urge to go outside.

yes, the stars were beautiful.
yes, the milky way was a bright silk veil flung carelessly across the night sky.
yes, i stood there, looking upward, for much longer than i should have.

*grin*

you know, something happened to me last summer. i was going out almost every night, the air was warm, the stars inviting companions. there was poetry on the blog all the time and all of it became a part of a whole. i think i fell in love with summer nights, the magic of them, the heat, the sounds. every night had the gods in it.

i went outside on the first warm night here, last week or so, and all of it was there waiting for me again. i felt like it was a reunion.

it's still a little imcomprehensible to me. i love cool weather, the rain in seattle suits me perfectly. the sun and i were never friends, and i hid away from the heat of summer like it was a mortal enemy.

but now i'm looking forward to a season of stealing outside, dark woods, mysterious sounds, owls calling, fireflies in the fields and the stars in the skies. when i'm out there by myself, i'm not alone, somehow.

good night, mayo.

Murder

1.

Language must suffice.

Years ago,
under a sweet June sky
stung with stars and swept back by black leaves
barely rustling,

a beautiful woman nearly killed me.

Listen,
she said,
and turned
her lovely face to the stars, the wild sky....

2.

No.

No: years ago,

under a sweet, June sky
strung with stars and swept back by black leaves
barely rustling,

under this sky
broad, bright, all rung around

with rustling elders—or intoxicating willows,
or oaks, I forget—
under this sky,

a beautiful woman killed me, nearly.

I say beautiful. You had to see her.

Listen,
she said,

and turned a lovely shell of her ear
to the swirl of stars
and the moon
smudged as a wingtip in one tree, not far.

3.

Yes: she scraped my back bloody against a rough trunk.
Yes: she flung back her lovely face
and her hair, holding me down,

and the tree shook slowly, as in a mild, persistent laugh
or wind,

and the moon high in that black tree
swung to and fro ...

there were millions of stars
up where she stared past us,
and one moon, I think.

4.

Excuse me.

My friend, who loves poetry truly, says too much
nature taints my work.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Too many birds, stars—
too much rain,
too much grass—
so many wild, bowing limbs
howling or groaning into the natural night ...

and he might be right. Even here.

That is, if tree were a tree.
That is, if star or moon or even beautiful woman
craning the shell of her ear
were what they were.

They are, I think, not.

No: and a poem about nature contains anything but.

5.

When they descended to us, they were a cloud of stars
sweeping lightly. They sang to us urgently
about our lives,

they touched us
with a hundred thousand hair-soft, small legs—

and held down by such hungers, we let them cover us,
this beautiful woman, this me,

who couldn’t move,
who were stung—do you hear?—
who were stung again, were covered that quickly, crying
to each other
to fly away!

6.
... I just can’t erase
the exquisite, weeping language
of the wasps, nor her face in starlight
and so tranquil under that false, papery, bobbing
moon
just minutes before,
saying listen,

listen,

nor then the weight
of her whole natural body
pinning down mine
until we both cried out for fear, and pain,
and still couldn’t move.

7.

Language must suffice.
First, it doesn’t. Then, of course,

it does. Listen, listen.

What do you hear? This nearly killed me.
I’ll never know
why she didn’t just whisper Here they come, warn Move!
cry They’ll kill us!
Yes: I will save you ...
Yes: I love you too much to watch you suffer!
But it’s all I recall, or now need.

And, anyway, I loved her, she was so beautiful.
And that is what I have had to say
before it’s too late,
before they have killed me,
before they have killed you, too,

or before we have all become something else entirely,

which is to say
before we are
only language.

Hey Mayo

I really should be passed out by now, but I'm not. Why? I have no damn idea. I am so over medicated right now it's not even funny but the upside is I'm feeling no pain. Yeah I know my back is still messed up but I don't feel it right now. Matter of fact I'm not feeling anything right now.

The house is silent and everyone is asleep. I love times like this. I know where everyone is so I have no worries. That is how it is, my friend. First and foremost I'm a mom. My job in life is to make sure my children are okay and accounted for. I didn't even take anything for the pain until I was sure they were okay. Funny but I seriously can't remember a time when I was anything else but a mom. I'm sure I was something else once upon a time but damn it, I can't remember. Sometimes I wonder if this is all I am. I really don't mind, if that's true but as they grow older what then? What will I be? Okay, this is probably just the painkillers talking but you know what? I realize this is truly what I think all the time but bury the thoughts. I'm afraid I will wake up one morning and realize no one needs me anymore. I'm afraid, yeah I'm afraid.

Fear is always with me. It is my constant companion. I really should shut up now.

Night again, Mayo. Sleep tight and may fear not be your constant companion.

There is nothing ''out there'' that's holding you down, - you are limiting yourself only with your own imagination. And your greatest limits are not even the ''cannot'' and the ''should not'', but the places where your imagination hasn't yet gone at all. There has never been a better time for you to open your eyes, let the imagination soar and see what more is possible

I want to hear more about this "secret blog" some people seem to know about.... Don't you all?

Who started it, who is there, IS MAYO THERE and most important who was NOT told?

Not that I want to talk to any of those people who would do that, but to expose them for what they are.

At least Seven's and even DW's was not a secret.

And you have to wonder, if you are not there.... What are they talking about that they don't want you to know.

What makes you think there is a secret blog? Didn't an anon bring it up? Think about it, how would an anon know about a secret blog? Just more anons trying to stir up shit.

I'm not saying there is a secret blog, but hypothetically, if there was, why do you care if Mayo goes there? It's not harming anyone here, he is free to come and go to any blog he pleases. Nobody can force any of us to go to a blog we don't want to go to.

K wrote a while back that she 'didn't mean to post that here' when she posted a comment here, so if she didn't mean to post it here, where did she mean to post it?

I think a lot of people thought Seven was SS at first, making a new blog that was open for comments. But it turned out to be one of the Watchers.

Of course it wasn't SS. Did people really think it was? I thought it became obvious it was watcher number seven. Why would SS go to all that trouble? All he would have to do is enable comments on his own blog.
