At the Home

I hate to see you
When you're falling apart
Can't you start over, again?

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her chair
Keeps her windows shut
To keep out the air

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her bed
Spends all her pastime
Mulled in her dread

What keeps her living
Is her fear of being
Anywhere other than here
So they’ll feed her too much
Or it’s never enough,
Then it's fuck you
“Get the hell out of here!"

Elizabeth stumbles
Over everything I've said
Pining words are useless
Pushed round in her head

The mystery was my bravery
I never knew what I'd get
Will it be her fear or regret?
Her confusion my denial?
Walked her shoes a while
Now she can’t turn back
So she said then she’ll stay
And I will walk away

Elizabeth mumbles
Over and over my name
Forgetting tomorrow
Will never be the same

She’s repeating her beating
Did you bring her a drink?
Why are you leaving?
What the hell do you think?
That she’ll fuck you
To get the hell out of here

Elizabeth tumbles
Out onto the floor
With an abandon of reason
It is herself abhorred

She sat alone in her room
Pouring over her gloom
Never got out of her chair
And they don't even care
Now that they’ve all receded
Into the ground or fleeted
To the wormholes
And woodwork back there

You'll find repair
Where that memory
Becomes illusory

Look, again?

p.s. in the end it is what you think you will get.

Hubby wanted me to ask how you and your hubby caught the crabs.

I looked at him and said that didn't sound quite right.

uh, how did you catch the sand crabs?

ergoproxy said...

they do! I don't know how deep they actually go but you would need a shovel for sure, and they are fast!

toujours said...

*gasp*

elena!

that's such a personal question.

you don't have to answer that, ergo.

tsk.

ergoproxy said...

hahahahahahahaha!

well the SAND crabs were actually caught in a cast net yesterday, you could see them as we were catching bait

other times though they follow in your bait as you retrieve and you can either step on em as they get in close, or flick them on shore then step on them/grab them.
we did get one that way but it was a jenny

elena said...

Hubby said that's not how he got crabs.

Seriously I shouldn't comment from his shop, should I? LOL

Hey TJ

Good to see you. How are you tonight?

toujours said...

hey there elena! papa bear is funny, isn't he? *waves at the hubby*

i'm good, my nails are a proper superdark purple again, and i finally have plans for my birthday tomorrow!

how's it going for you? i loved the pics of your flowers from earlier. so pretty. :)

ergoproxy said...

they are also called blue swimmer crabs, you can use pots but they have really long front nippers
we are tossing up going to another spot next week and targeting them, they were sort of chanced upon yesterday
they are very sweet and tasty, the other main crab here is a mudcrab, much bigger and deeper tasting meat, you use pots for them

elena said...

TJ

He waved back at you.

Ergo

He said his crabs just itch. (He's making me type this shit)

He was really impressed with your pics.

ergoproxy said...

hahaha
*waves to hubby*

tell him you can get cream for that

elena said...

Holy crap, he said to say he prefers butter to cream for his crabs. LOL

ergoproxy said...

haha he's on a roll

crabs on a buttered roll that is!

elena said...

Yeah Ergo he is

We're at the shop watching "Deadliest Catch" right now. They are bringing in crabs.

ergoproxy said...

Oh we watch that! They are insane!!
Which ship are they with? I liked Time Bandit, just cause it's a cool name from a cool movie

ergoproxy said...

has TJ wandered off ?

elena said...

Time Bandits is an excellent movie.

Do you watch "Ice Truckers"?

ergoproxy said...

Oh yes, I loved Ice truckers, it's not on here anymore though, I've seen Lobster Wars too

elena said...

Oh the Time Bandit is on now. Wow, I've never watched this before but it's a great show.

Hubby knows Lobster Wars. He likes it.

ergoproxy said...

you haven't watched Deadliest catch!!!

it's great but holy cow I don't think I'd have the guts to do it
there is an episode where they show all the cameramen and crew.it's great they get seasick and frozen.
Seeing the guys bashing ice off the ship all the time makes me feel cold in the middle of summer!

toujours said...

i did wander off, ergo -- sorry about that!

i loved time bandits, it was one of those movies that you discover and can't believe you had never heard of before.

ergoproxy said...

elena I just sent you an email hubby might like

toujours said...

oh! and if you ever see a young, cheerful guy on "deadliest catch" named odie, i know him! helped him find his way around seattle, got him to the fishing boats and the piers up in north seattle.

good guy. :)

elena said...

I'm really like this show. It's so cool to watch this but yeah, I totally wouldn't want to be on those boats. They are in the ice right now actually got off the boat and are walking around on the ice.

They are showing a marathon right now of this show. It goes all through tomorrow.

All I know is I really want some crab right now.

ergoproxy said...

you do TJ!!!
I will have to look out for him when I see it nest

toujours said...

i don't know if he'll ever be on, ergo -- but that's what he came to seattle to do! i know he's up in alaska working a fishing boat now, so who knows!

elena said...

Ergo

Hubby liked the e-mail. He said he likes cars but he like boobs better.

I'm so rolling my eyes now!

ergoproxy said...

mayo,

i was thinking about the beginning of your blog today, all the things that happened, the games and the parties and the mystery of it all. i was remembering reading but not being a part of it yet, and how posting under a name was like a threshold crossed, and no looking back!

i never thought i would be part of an online community, i never thought i would meet people who were strangers and friends all at the same time. i have to admit that i am afraid of the day this will be all over. i know that it will, everything must end eventually, but i can say honestly that this blog has been the catalyst for a great many changes in my life. without the effect this blog has had, i wouldn't be here in kentucky, i wouldn't have had that road trip experience that rearranged everything, i wouldn't have met all these people who now mean so much to me, and so much more besides. lots of ripples, mayo.

i don't think you were writing about the end of the blog in your last comment, it read so much more optimistic than that, but even though this place isn't perfect (and never has been, i remember all too well), i will miss having a home here, will miss talking to my friends here -- even if we talk elsewhere -- and will miss reading you, your poetry and your stories about yourself.

there will always be a part of me that lives here in blogbelieve.

take care of yourself mayo, have a good night tonight and an enjoyable day tomorrow.

"Rise up, rise up"

Rise up, rise up,
I say, out of
your grave,
I refuse to
have you buried there
These five & a half years
should be separation only, never
a complete farewell,
& all we’ve learned & thought of
for each other, all we discovered by the terms of
this distance forced upon us
all that we stored up to tell,
to give each other, these words clamoring
between us
all that relief of touching, holding
hands, embraces & half-broken
laughter instead of weeping,
all that is
promised for us still:
how we would
fall upon each other
to make sure
the other’s flesh is there for
touching, what a wealth,
a cornucopia
of pleasure awaits us!
5 & ½ years
of walls between us—& all that blankness
turned upside down!

One more thing. Tomorrow is Memorial Day. I will rememeber those I have lost. It is painful yet the memories are not sad. Does that make sense? I miss my loved ones that are gone. I will always remember the good times. That is important. I hope you rememeber those you have lost with love. They really aren't gone, you know. They are still with us.

Yes, they are really are.

Happy Memorial Day BB

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

Anonymous said...

Strange MeetingIt seemed that out of the battle I escaped
Down some profound dull tunnel, long since scooped
Through granites which titanic wars had groined.
Yet also there encumbered sleepers groaned,
Too fast in thought or death to be bestirred.
Then, as I probed them, one sprang up, and stared
With piteous recognition in fixed eyes,
Lifting distressful hands as if to bless.
And by his smile, I knew that sullen hall,
By his dead smile I knew we stood in Hell.
With a thousand pains that vision's face
was grained;
Yet no blood reached there from the upper ground,
And no guns thumped, or down the flues
made moan.
"Strange friend," I said, "here is no cause
to mourn."
"None," said the other, "save the undone years,
The hopelessness. Whatever hope is yours,
Was my life also; I went hunting wild
After the wildest beauty in the world,
Which lies not calm in eyes, or braided hair,
But mocks the steady running of the hour,
And if it grieves, grieves richlier than here.
For by my glee might many men have laughed,
And of my weeping something had been left,
Which must die now. I mean the truth untold,
The pity of war, the pity war distilled.
Now men will go content with what we spoiled.
Or, discontent, boil bloody, and be spilled.
They will be swift with swiftness of the tigress,
None will break ranks, though nations trek
from progress.
Courage was mine, and I had mystery,
Wisdom was mine, and I had mastery;
To miss the march of this retreating world
Into vain citadels that are not walled.
Then, when much blood had clogged their
chariot-wheels
I would go up and wash them from sweet wells,
Even with truths that lie too deep for taint.
I would have poured my spirit without stint
But not through wounds; not on the cess of war.
Foreheads of men have bled where no
wounds were.
I am the enemy you killed, my friend.
I knew you in this dark; for so you frowned
Yesterday through me as you jabbed and killed.
I parried; but my hands were loath and cold.
Let us sleep now...
.

you enjoyed your weekend? Hope you did. it's rainy here again, though the day didn't rain properly it wasn't as nice as it had been. Hopefully next weekend will be better, and seeing as we might be going fishing to actually target sandcrabs it could be tasty too! Do you ever fish? Like seafood? Don't you feel a bit sorry for crustaceans,, no only do they taste good, but their exoskeleton makes them so convenient.
Have a great monday
much love EP xx

Maybe this one?

So you think youre a romeo
Playing a part in a picture-show
Take the long way home
Take the long way home

Cos youre the joke of the neighborhood
Why should you care if youre feeling good
Take the long way home
Take the long way home

But there are times that you feel youre part of the scenery
All the greenery is comin down, boy
And then your wife seems to think youre part of the
Furniture oh, its peculiar, she used to be so nice.

When lonely days turn to lonely nights
You take a trip to the city lights
And take the long way home
Take the long way home

You never see what you want to see
Forever playing to the gallery
You take the long way home
Take the long way home

And when youre up on the stage, its so unbelievable,
Unforgettable, how they adore you,
But then your wife seems to think youre losing your sanity,
Oh, calamity, is there no way out?

Does it feel that you lifes become a catastrophe?
Oh, it has to be for you to grow, boy.
When you look through the years and see what you could
Have been oh, what might have been,
If youd had more time.

So, when the day comes to settle down,
Whos to blame if youre not around?
You took the long way home
You took the long way home...........

Happy Memorial Day Mayo, SS, Ergo, Elena, Amy, J, TJ, Lewis, various anons and lurkers, Gilligan, the skipper too, the movie star and the rest!

How are you all today? Happy, well and good, I hope!

Mayo: It's good to see you again! It's (also) good to see you have moved forward. I was beginning to think you were stuck in some weird blogbelieve time warp ~ being forced to relieve the same minute over and over again! Welcome to the present! Well, it's actually the past by now; but at least we know you're not stuck there, at 4:40, anymore!

Elena: I'm so happy to hear you and Flighty had such a great time at the TBS/The Used concert! Thanks for sharing your pictures with us! Do you have any more to share?

Oh, Sandy Ann said to tell Jake "thanks for trying to bring her a fresh catch; but, maybe he should should listen to his mom and leave those strange looking, hissing 'dogs' alone"!
;)

And, gorgeous roses!!!!

Ergo: Thank you for the beautiful Memorial Day wishes!!! Did ya'll catch that feral cat yet?
*smoooooch*

KOL anon: Ohhh.... I more than appreciate the links you and KOL 2 post!!! THANK YOU!

J: It's so good to see your name again! I'm so happy to hear L is continuing to improve! Soooo.... it's her birthday tomorrow, eh? I must get blog cake and balloons!

For all the veterans out there (especially the fallen), their families, their friends and those who appreciate their sacrifices and their service:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Freedom Is Not Free
Kelly Strong
I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of TAPS one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That TAPS had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
Hi everyone!
Just stopping by.
Ergo - Hi back and thank you for your lovely thoughts. Its true that we should remember those who have fallen with respect, and that regardless our feelings about war.
Wendy - Thank you for the poem and ditto above. And please don't let cruelty here get to you! There is enough real cruelty elsewhere.
But you know that. *hug*
I wanted to give you guys a taste of what my life has been like recently.
So I go out to Nautical Nights on Lake St Clair and marvel at the number of people with boats all moored together off of the patio of a summer club. Lights shining from each one and music beating from the one I was on (DJs boat). It was quite beautiful actually, but I was glad I was on the boat and not at the bar because women were telling me how awful people were acting and they should have appreciated the beauty around them and realized how blessed they were. I had a great time, however.
When I left the after party at my friend's yacht, I found someone had kicked my car in several places, knocked off the sideview mirror, and busted a glass across my windshield. The only motive I can come up with is that cars were all packed close together and when the white car next to me pulled out, the driver scratched my car along the side (evidenced by the white streak across the side) and took his anger out on my car rather than his own drunk driving. (The foot prints looked male). I called the police and everything, but there is nothing they can do.
Anyway, my point is from giddy highs to miserable lows, I am kind of tired of all of the drama. I just wish things would settle down.
This feels really awful.
And this isn't the first dramatic event (& 'fall') that happened in the past week - I can only pray that its the last.*
*Thanks for listening.
Mayo looking back over your comment, I can only say that I interpret it differently. But as I said, as you will! But you know that. :)
PS - Menopause anons - I only wish I had hit menopause, seriously! That would be good luck though and I rarely have any.
Just saying!
Much love to you all as I know we all need more.
And *GIANT HUGS*
A Fable
Once upon a today and yesterday and nevermore there were 7 men and women all locked / up in prison cells. Now these 7 men and women were innocent of any crimes; they were in prison because their skins were black. Day after day, the prisoners paced their cells, pining for their freedom. And the non-black jailers would laugh at the prisoners and beat them with sticks and throw their food on the floor. Finally, prisoner #1 said, “I will educate myself and emulate the non-colored people. That is the way to freedom—c’mon, you guys, and follow me.” “Hell, no,” said prisoner #2. “The only way to get free is to pray to my god and he will deliver you like he delivered Daniel from the lion’s den, so unite and follow me.” “Bullshit,” said prisoner #3. “The only way / out is thru this tunnel i’ve been quietly digging, so c’mon, and follow me.” “Uh-uh,” said prisoner #4, “that’s too risky. The only right / way is to follow all the rules and don’t make the non-colored people angry, so c’mon brothers and sisters and unite behind me.” “Fuck you!” said prisoner #5, “The only way / out is to shoot our way out, if all of you get / together behind me.” “No,” said prisoner #6, “all of you are incorrect; you have not analyzed the political situation by my scientific method and historical meemeejeebee. All we have to do is wait long enough and the bars will bend from their own inner rot. That is the only way.” “Are all of you crazy,” cried prisoner #7. “I’ll get out by myself, by ratting on the rest of you to the non-colored people. That is the way, that is the only way!” “No-no,” they / all cried, “come and follow me. I have the / way, the only way to freedom.” And so they argued, and to this day they are still arguing; and to this day they are still in their prison cells, their stomachs / trembling with fear.
Hey Wendy from earlier. Jake is being a bad boy. He got another one of the groundhogs. The boy just doesn't listen.
I hope you all had a good weekend. I did, I have eaten so many of mum's birthdays choccies. I swear the diet starts tomorrow.
Miranth, sorry to hear about what happened sweetie. Life sucks sometimes doesn't it, that's for sure.
Ghost anon, interesting thoughts. Wanna hear my loopy ones?
As you all know, I'm not religious, I don't wanna slag off or upset anyone who is but I'm just not. I'm a believer in science. But I am a believer in the afterlife, a scientific one.
I believe that as electricity is the meaning of life, it is also the meaning of death. Electricity runs through us and makes us live. As the Egyptians believed, I also think that the soul is made up of various parts, one of these being electricity, one being expreiences, one being personality, one being memories etc.
Electricity doesn't die, it gets used up or moves on into the atmosphere and I belieeve when we die, our soul (and our electricity) goes into the atmosphere as such.
I believe in different dimensions in the here and now. We know there are many more then we can see. Dogs only see in 2D but we know there is a third dimension cos we see it. How many more can our eyes not see?
I believe when the situation is right, when the atmospheric conditions (electricity) is right, we see more clearly into these dimensions and we see ghosts. It is well documented that a change in atmospherics results in more ghosts sightings, especially at battle grounds where huge battles are re-created on hillsides.
I beleieve also that the electricity coursing through us makes us all like TV ariels and when the conditions are right, we recieve better signals so to speak and see more. I believe that psychics pick up better signals than the rest of us.
I believe that this life is here for us to gain the experiences we will need in the next. I think the afterlife is like one huge virtual reality. If you can think it, you can do it. The possablities are endless. You can interact with the living, or go off and do your own thing. We don't have the limits of bodies in the next dimension so we are not hindered in what we can do. We take the memories of what things felt like and we can recreate them. I think the afterlife will be an amzing place, better than this one. We can be anywhere and do anything. So you should make the most of this life and gain all the experiences you can cos the better life you have, the better afterlife you can have.
I also believe that what keeps the afterlife running is electricity. Our dead souls have to be fed to be kept alive but we can't have real food, I think electricity is the food of the soul and that is why we have electrical storms. they recharge all the souls on earth.
One thing we know about mother nature is that nothing happens for no reason. We know HOW electrical storms occur but WHY do they? what purpose does electricity cracking through the sky actually achieve? Nothing happens for nothing in nature. I think this is what electrical storms are for. Just because we can't see it doesn't mean that's not the answer. If that is what's going on and that's how the afterlife is fuelled, this planet and science and nature is even more amazing than we could ever have thought possible.
And I believe that seeing how far we have come since harnessing electricity, we still have more amazing inventions to come. I think that in the future, we will be able to live and converse with the dead as though they never left us. With some sort of night vision goggles set up and some sort of ear piece, we could sit down at a table and have a cuppa with our relatives as if they were still here. Whyever not?
So, those are my crazy thoughts. You can call me mad but can you prove me wrong? There is a scientific idea that could actually work.
OK, this fruit loop is off to bed now.
Nighty night everyone.
xxxxx
I was just reading back through my blog posts and comments and such, and I was struck once again with a whole gratefulness to good ole Mayo for being the catalyst to me meeting people who are cool. That's the suit I'm trying on as of late, being grateful. Not bitching, not moaning, not being all butt-hurt about non consequential things. If I start the day on the upper side of the dirt, guess it's a good one. Me and my Mom are kinda in the same place now. Tell me good things. I don't want to hear the dead and drying report, tell me about a good book you read, a pretty flower you saw, a good tv show you watched. I admit it's hard, but I am committed to crawling out of any self-imposed pit I might have been digging lately. And yeah, I could have all wrote this in my journal, but I can type faster than I can write, and it kinda needed out. Also, good wishes to friends who need them. Goodnight all. And I have a really pretty cornflower on my counter right now, and the Heroes finale was awesome.
ithought drying report was very apt, as it suggests that sort of conversation that makes your interest dry up. :)
j., i hated packing too. it seems endless. and then when you finally are all packed up, and have completed your move, it seems like you surely had more stuff, and how did it all get lost?
Dear SS,
Today is a day that almost didn't get to be celebrated.
There aren't enough ways to express how glad I am that it will be.
L told me the best present she's gotten was the chance to be here for another birthday. The rest is a bonus.
And that's what matters, you know? Not fifty boxes wrapped in shiny paper; not cards from everyone you know, and some you don't; not the finest meal at The Four Seasons, complete with champagne.
What matters is being here to enjoy being here.
Enjoy your gift of being here too, baby. As you know, life's too short to waste being unhappy.
Goodnight, Precious. I love you.
My heart to yours, always.
mayo,
the thread around my wrist fell off today. i was talking to my brother-in-law, and brushed my wrist. there was a gentle little "pop", and my wrist was naked, the tattered thread on the ground.
eleven months since i put it on, to remind me of what i needed to be reminded of, to lend me courage.
my wrist felt so naked, even just from the absence of such a little thing.
ergo suggested that it fell off because it was something that no longer needed to be symbolized. i like that rather than what my imagination was coming up with.
because you're still here, aren't you.
anyway, maybe i read too much into things. sometimes a bird is just a bird, and sewing thread is just sewing thread. it wasn't a spell that broke today, it was just a security blanket.
so i guess today i grew up?
quelle horreur!
good night, mayo.
Ohhh... did you all hear that QUEEN is very interested in having Adam Lambert as their new vocalist???!!! Isn't that wonderful?!
I'm not saying he should accept their offer (after his AI contract is fullfilled). Honestly, I don't think he should. I think Adam should do exactly what Chris Daughtry did (when he declined Fuel's very gracious offer) and form his own band!
Although, Mr. Jackson's suggestion of making an album with Slash does sound good!
Once again I say: GO ADAM!!!!
Lyrics to Believe
by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
"Aren't these some times?
It's gotten bad, and it's been
Pressin’ on my mind
Got me feelin’ sad
But I know you know
That we could do more
But we just don't
Don't worry world
I feel your pain, and it’s a shame
My shoulders are hurt
And stressed from the pain
And I know you know
That you could do more
But you
And I still believe
That there is more love than hate
There's more heart than ache
And we are stuck in this great big world together
With a little bit of help from up above
And a sprinkling of love
We can break these chains
We will end these days
And I know you know
That you could do more
But you
And I still believe
That there is more love than hate
There's more heart than ache
And we are stuck in this great big world together
And I still believe
That there is a lot at stake, there's no time to wait
We can change the world if we try
We're gonna change it forever
You should join us
You, let it be you
Who will join us?
You, let it be you
And I still believe
That there is more love than hate
There's more heart than ache
And we are stuck in this great big world together
And I still believe
That there is a lot at stake
And there's no time to wait
We can change the world if we try
We're gonna change it forever
And I still believe
That there is more love than hate
There's more heart than ache
And we are stuck in this great big world together
And I still believe"
So you had any animal encounters lately? Have you found any new furry or non furry pals? New flocks of birds? We have a family of brolga that fly past most every day. You ca hear them coming, they call the whole time, then they land across the road, sometimes you can be lucky enough to see them dance (though no luck so far this year.) They are a large grey bird, like a stork and they put out their wings and dance when courting, they look magnificent
Concerned about her relationship, a woman approaches her doctor and says, "Doc, I'm getting married this weekend and my fiance thinks I'm a virgin & I'm not! Is there anything you can do to help me?"
The doctor says, "Medically, no, but here's something you can try. On the wedding night, when you're getting ready for bed, take an elastic band and slide it to your upper thigh. When your husband puts it in, snap the elastic band and tell him it's your virginity snapping."
The woman loves this idea and knows her hubby will fall for this. They have a beautiful wedding and retire to the honeymoon suite. The wife gets ready for bed in the bathroom, slips the elastic band up her leg, finishes preparing and climbs into bed with her man.
Things begin to progress - her hubby "slips it in" and just then she snaps the elastic band. The hubby asks, "What the heck was that?"
The wife explains, "Oh nothing honey, that was just my virginity snapping."
The husband cries out, "Well snap it again, it's got my balls!"
I heard this joke and wanted to share it with you all - you'll just have to imagine my sketchy Irish accent!
John O’Reilly raised his glass and said, 'Here’s to spending the rest of me life, between the legs of me wife!' John won the top prize at the bar for the best toast of the night!
He went home and told his wife, Mary, 'I won the prize for the Best toast of the night'
She said, 'Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?'
John said, 'Here’s to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife.'
'Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!' Mary said.
The next day, Mary ran into one of John’s drinking buddies on the street corner.
The man chuckled leeringly and said, 'John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary.'
She said, 'Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself.'
'You know, he’s only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come.'
for long delicious moments it is perfectly
lazy, riding motionless in the breeze on the soft stalk
TJ - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I really enjoyed what you wrote about the people you met here and the experiences you enjoyed as a result.
OP-L HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
We are lucky to have you still among us and I, for one, am very grateful for that miracle. *HUGS* and best wishes for your birthday and many returns.
Elena - I am glad they caught the person. The police are still working on it in my case, but it doesn't look good.
MissT and Ergo - The really sucky thing about it is that the guy whose boat I was on promised to help and reneged, so I feel even worse. I think he just cares about getting the security guard in trouble!
Carrie - Sorry for bringing up a negative topic!
Hug and Run - Hugs are always appreciated! Thank you.
Bye now.
Carrie said...
My comment was not directed at you, Miranth. Nor directed at anyone, it was an explanation of how I am feeling in my day to day "real" life as of late. But, I forget, sometimes a person can't write anything here without it being seen as a pointed attack at a specific person or people. That kinda gets tiresome sometimes, and is a huge reason why I don't post more. Oh well, I guess Mayo's has run its course for me pretty much anyways. Have fun you guys.
miranth said...
Carrie - I just meant that I agree woith you that we should talk about more positive things more often. Plus I was guilty of dumping my problem here and while it made me feel better I realized after reading you and hearing your positive take on things, that I was being selfish.
It was my own guilt talking! And I am sorry you feel that way. I hope things can be more positive here.
I think the feelings you express are very true and should be a guide to me personally.
And thank you. *hug*
hi elena. :)
i'm afraid to see the new trek movie. :/
ergoproxy said...
Hi elena!
I am thinking I should go see it, I'd have to go alone though during the day.
I ahve seen all the others.
Is it sort of "true" to the Star Trek series? I know a lot of people feared it wouldn't be, that it was made for a more mass audience
elena said...
HI All,
Go see the new Star Trek. Contrary to anything you might have heard, it is very much an homage to the original series. They did a wonderful job of incorporating the known with a new story line. The casting was spot on and there are many many references to the original series. It has the same humor as the original.
Do yourself a favor and go see it. Don't buy into whatever bologna you may have heard. It's obviously crap. It's a movie for old and new fans.
This has been Fred with your movie review. I now return you to your regularly scheduled blog.
Fred
toujours said...
ergo, that's what i asked my friend from college (she and i were trek twits together). she said that the movie is very respectful to the star trek univers,a nd where they do deviate, it is done in such a way that it's mostly believable.
i may not be as "recovered" as i thought i was! *eep*
Hi Anima! Who do you want to punch? I want to punch a few guys, but that's about it and that's pretty usual. I think they'd like it. :))
So I won't!!
Ergo - I love the Ab Fab ladies! I don't know Dawn French, but let hilarity ensue! And yes I am unaware of much that our host Mayo engages in, but I do know that he's pretty sneaky. ;)
TJ - I am glad you had a nice birthday. Hopefully things will work out or you'll find a better job. *sending you good wishes*
Elena - I soooooo want to see Star Trek. JJ Abrams directed it so I know its the best ever. I am glad he hearkened back to the original though. No one will go with me and I have trouble sitting still for a whole movie. They know me well. I am glad you enjoyed it though!
My reading was more of the same, but my psychic sense is heightened, which I knew already, so I was even better able to interpret the cards than the master, Cleo (and NO she is not the lady from TV!)
mayo,
i spent most of the day inside. i don't normally like to do that, it's too easy to let the day slip by that way, and i used to live an interior life, it isn't something i want to fall back into.
but today i decided to sleep myself out, didn't get out of bed until noon, and then spent the day trying to fully wake up. *grin*
i stepped outside just after dinner, to put the outdoor shade down for my folks, and i couldn't go back inside.
it's been hot, that muggy heat that makes air conditioning practically a necessity here. the heat hadn't abated much, but there was something enticing about it. i used to hate the summer, the heat and the sun (even seattle's mild version of them) felt like enemies to me. i felt exposed, unable to breathe.
i don't feel that way anymore. today the heat feels almost loverly, like the season pressing close against you. you can't ignore it, not the warmth of the air on your skin, nor the intensity of the beauty all around you. the sun was low, and every leaf, every blade of grass glowed with deep color.
i was outside for just a half-hour, and it made me drunk.
summer isn't my enemy anymore. i understand it now, understand how the promise of may is fulfilled by the heat of midsummer. i'm not in danger of becoming a beach bunny or anything, but i don't hide from the season anymore, that's for sure.
good night, mayo. put on some sunscreen tomorrow and go outside, listen to the sun and the trees. you might be surprised.
ergoproxy said...
So how was your day? I have a feeling it was very good. Yep, I’m psychic or psycho depending on who you ask. It was a good day here. After a rocky start waking up with a headache from hell it got better. Well that is until I went to the dentist but that’s all bad memories so I’m not going there. Best part was finally getting to see Star Trek. I loved it. I highly recommend you see it if you haven’t already but I’m betting you have. Psychic powers you know.
Well I’m off to watch some TV after I slip into my sock monkey PJ’s. Very stylish, I must say. Take care. The world offers you gifts everyday. Sometimes we overlook them and sometimes they knock us over the head. Embrace the gifts, embrace life. It’s beautiful.
and the command you chose to give us was beautiful
and your smile was like a ready sword.
The ascent of your cycle livened creation
from your thorn emerged the way’s thought
our impulse dawned naked to possess you
the world was easy: a simple pulsation.
II
The secrets of the sea are forgotten on the shores
the darkness of the depths is forgotten in the surf;
the corals of memory suddenly shine purple. . .
O do not stir. . . listen to hear its light
motion. . . you touched the tree with the apples
the hand reached out, the thread points the way and guides you. . .
O dark shivering in the roots and the leaves
if it were but you who would bring the forgotten dawn!
May lilies blossom again on the meadow of separation
may days open mature, the embrace of the heavens,
may those eyes alone shine in the glare
the pure soul be outlined like the song of a flute.
Was it night that shut its eyes? Ashes remain,
as from the string of a bow a choked hum remains,
ash and dizziness on the black shore
and dense fluttering imprisoned in surmise.
Rose of the wind, you knew but took us unknowing
at a time when thought was building bridges
so that fingers would knit and two fates pass by
and spill into the low and rested light.
O dark shivering in the roots and the leaves!
Come forth sleepless form in the gathering silence
raise your head from your cupped hands
so that your will be done and you tell me again
the words that touched and merged with the blood like an embrace;
and let your desire, deep like the shade of a walnut tree, bend
and flood us with your lavish hair
from the down of the kiss to the leaves of the heart.
You lowered your eyes and you had the smile
that masters of another time humbly painted.
Forgotten reading from an ancient gospel,
your words breathed and your voice was gentle:
‘The passing of time is soft and unworldly
and pain floats lightly in my soul
dawn breaks in the heavens, the dream remains afloat
and it’s as if scented shrubs were passing.
‘With my eyes’ startling, with my body’s blush
a flock of doves awakens and descends
their low, circling flight entangles me
the stars are a human touch on my breast.
‘I hear, as in a sea shell, the distant
adverse and confused lament of the world
but these are moments only, they disappear,
and the two-branched thought of my desire reigns alone.
‘It seemed I’d risen naked in a vanished recollection
when you came, strange and familiar, my beloved
to grant me, bending, the boundless deliverance
I was seeking from the wind’s quick sistrum. . .’
The broken sunset declined and was gone
and it seemed a delusion to ask for the gifts of the sky.
You lowered your eyes. The moon’s thorn blossomed
and you became afraid of the mountain’s shadows.
. . . In the mirror how our love diminishes
in sleep the dreams, school of oblivion
in the depths of time, how the heart contracts
and vanishes in the rocking of a foreign embrace. . .
Two serpents, beautiful, apart, tentacles of separation
crawl and search, in the night of the trees,
for a secret love in hidden bowers;
sleepless they search, they neither drink nor eat.
Circling, twisting, their insatiable intent
spins, multiplies, turns, spreads rings on the body
which the laws of the starry dome silently govern,
stirring its hot, irrepressible frenzy.
The forest stands as a shivering pillar for night
and the silence is a silver cup where moments fall
echoes distinct, whole, a careful chisel
sustained by carved lines. . .
The statue suddenly dawns. But the bodies have vanished
in the sea in the wind in the sun in the rain.
So the beauties nature grants us are born
but who knows if a soul hasn’t died in the world.
The parted serpents must have circled in fantasy
(the forest shimmers with birds, shoots, blossoms)
their wavy searching still remains,
like the turnings of the cycle that bring sorrow.
Where is the double-edged day that had changed everything?
Won’t there be a navigable river for us?
Won’t there be a sky to drop refreshing dew
for the soul benumbed and nourished by the lotus?
On the stone of patience we wait for the miracle
that opens the heavens and makes all things possible
we wait for the angel as in the age-old drama
at the moment when the open roses of twilight
disappear. . . Red rose of the wind and of fate,
you remained in memory only, a heavy rhythm
rose of the night, you passed, undulating purple
undulation of the sea. . . The world is simple.
Ah mayo...
so how's stuff? Stuff's good here. Though the weather has gone back to overcast, it is still great sleeping weather, and I do love my sleep! Apart from that, not much to say really.Which is pretty good, I prefer calm to drama. Tomorrow I shall be walking again, then some light exercise then the ultra exciting task of folding laundry. That is the one chore I hate most, what's yours?
much love EP xx
SS
do you have a chore you really dislike? Funnily I actually like cleaning the bath and toilet, gives me a sense of accomplishment, and it's exciting considering it involves conc. hydrochloric acid! Lime scale be GONE!!!
Hope you have a great wedneday
