So...does this mean we’re going steady?

(It was by chance or perhaps happenstance.)

An Awkward Moment’s Legend.

It was one year ago today that I held your hand.
You asked if he did a good job.
It was a good job, wasn’t it?
It was, thank you.
You were quiet, I rambled
And you held my hand.
Can I get that for you? Oh yeah, sure.
I didn’t want to leave you,
You seemed to need
More time, one less drink, and one more smoke.
And I was intent on permanence.

Then, as is now, time passes like a plunge.
I am far, but not for long.
Do you miss me? Yes, I do.
I can’t hold your hand.
You will, soon enough.
In the meantime, I am waiting, asking
Are you sleeping to the sound of my voice?
I know you hear me, you do.
And this is ours,
A moment in time, continued.
And I am intent on permanence.

(How life can change, so quickly. In a moment, in a hand, it can shift. And everything that was will never be the same, in a good way, in the best way.)

p.s. shall we get matching rings? (Go on, laugh. I am.)

K, (Weaver Girl)

Thank you! I'm getting there. I'm finally starting to write about things that don't involve my dude. It's so nice. Your words and encouragement carry more weight than you know and I hope to one day be able to be in rhyme off with you.

Wouldn't that be cool?
We could do a poetry duel!

You with your sword
and me with my heart.

Hello All

Kapunua, congratulations on the raise. That is always news and fab for motivation. I am currently saving up to install new windows and a door in my house in Ireland. They should be in by the end of the month-a raise would really come in handy right now!

Miss T-re the Earthquake (see how far I am behind)-I got home at 12.30am that morning. I had just gone to bed-alone-when the bed started to shake. It only lasted a few seconds but me, being me, thought it was something supernatural or that I was having a neurological "turn". I was petrified. I said some prayers and went off to sleep. I forgot all about it until I got into work and I was hugely relieved when I found out it was only an earthquake!

I have seen alot of stuff written here about The Beatles. There are 2 questions I ask potential good acquaintances/friends/boyfriends that I have used for the past 15 years:

1) Who are your 2 favourite Beatles?; and
2) Do you believe man walked on the moon in 1969?

The responses to these determine whether we are going to get along. They have not failed me yet.

Smoke said...

Muwahahah. I think she proposed to quite a few.

Smoke said...

My two favorite Beatles?

OMG.

I don't know actually. Don't like ban me from the blogs but I've never really 'listened' to The Beatles. O_O

Did man walk on the moon in 1969?

Don't know. I wasn't born for another like eight years.

Can't really say for sure. ^_~

Smoke said...

I don't know a whole lot do I?

Also, he muddles the words there too, there's like a random extra syllable after "and", right? It is my favorite part of the entire CD. My other favorite part is when he just lets loos in "I Am Fred Astaire;" the "ahhhhh" after "we get it, we get it, each time. I feel like that's the song on that CD where he discovered that he fully owned singing, and he was just feeling the joy of his own voice in that one.

And the fact that he acknowledges his stutter. OMG, that shouldn't be as adorable as it is and I am going fanpoodle right now and I need to stop.

That's going to be awesome. DOn't you love changing things in your house? "House in Ireland." That phrase alone is gorgeous. ^_^ I should be saving up for a trip I want to take, but I can tell you right now that after expenses, my extra money is going to go to plants. Yep, plants.

1) Who are your 2 favourite Beatles?; and
2) Do you believe man walked on the moon in 1969?

John and Ringo. But mostly John. I'm snarksexual.

And yes, I do believe that a man wlked on the moon. Also that it's not too big a deal, either. :) I mean, it is, or was for its time, but I guess I'm just jaded by the zeitgeist.

Anonymous said...

Okay, awesome, 'cause I can totally do this.

1) Who are your 2 favourite Beatles?

Lennon, without a doubt and for the reasons I stated last night. A storyteller and lyricist of the highest regard. A fighter. And he changed things, he changed hearts and minds. I believed in him.

Probably Harrison next. Gosh, this is hard. He, to me, was a different sort of individual. The ideas he brought to the music astounds me. The influence he gained from Indian culture that worked its way into a completely Americanized idea to this day amazes me.

2) Do you believe man walked on the moon in 1969?

No. So, I'm a documentary freak. And I'm not sure how much truth there is behind documentaries (you'd think there'd be some), but from what I've seen and the information I've gathered, it's enough to tell me that the American government would lie, steal, and cheat their way to be the first anything.

I think it was a grand hoax. :)

Anonymous said...

Splash, you should watch that movie Zeitgeist I was going on about months ago.

Plants are a major weak ppont for me too! In January 07 I planted 120escallonia hedge plants around my house-its a big back garden. They were tiny but all have survived and I think they should really begin to grow this year. In September I planted trees-2 apple trees, a poplar, weeping birch-cos I'm not fond of willows-and a "red" tree -I don't know the name-I am so looking forward to going over to see them in April.

I love plants!

I wonder if he's going to say that tonight.

However I do believe there are those who would agree with me that Gerard Way is an entertainer who also happens to be a very talented artist. I know I have already thanked you for your comments today but I wanted to tell you something.

I really hope that you know what your words and your presence means to the people in this little family, not just the people in blue but also the people who are under the anonymous name.

Your comment @ 11.36am today particularly stood out in more ways then one.

A friend of mine that I was fortunate to meet in this blog, whom has become a very good friend and one that I will keep in contact with, recently lost someone very dear to her. Her grandpa passed away last week, and I know that it is very hard to lose someone in your family. In this particular comment you stated “Never miss an opportunity to tell those you love how much they mean to you.” Well, my friend wasn’t really close to her grandpa but she wanted to be. She wanted to be closer and she wished she had told him how much she loved him, unfortunately though they were separated by living in different countries. When she read your comment, you made her cry just by simply using your words to help others. The words made her think of her situation with her grandpa and the memories that they had made when she was younger. she cant make more memories with him now but she can cherish the ones that remain in her mind and her heart.

You touched someone who needed to hear those words and with that she wants to say thank you. She hopes that you really do know what your words bring to this place and that she hopes you take your own advice and make your memories special. Cherish the ones you love and live life to the full. Remember everything about the ones you love and tell them as often as you can, how you really feel about them because you never know when you may never get to see, hear or touch them again.

Thank you for your words, and thank you for what you did for my friend. You have so much of my respect and I would like to call you my friend.

Yet Gerard himself says that he is happier than he's ever been, and that he has decided to finally be himself and do what makes him happy.

By Gerard's logic, this is how he really is.

Which, oh well.

sally said...

Amy, Capricorn? Aren't they meant to be relatively calm?

Hmmm, Aries, the babies of the zodiac. Think they know it all. Good points, very eager and passionate.

Amyranth said...

Capricorn is fairly laid back. I'm a complete believer in Nature VS Nurture. His nature is laid back and calm, but his sense of humor was nurtured by his father.

Is this a direct quote?

Mayo,

What's up? or down? or in between? or spinning round? Yeah, I don't know either. I'm okay though. Just getting ready for bed.

The little airplane poem is stuck up at the top of your door. I can't reach it or I would have pulled it down and set fire to it. Oh well, I hope you like it. If not, put it beside your bed and use it as a scratch pad. Or fly it around your room just for kicks. That fucker can soar!! Not bad for someone who hasn't folded a paper airplane in like 20 years.

Dude, there is something really sad and gloomy and depressing about that last statement.

Mayo, I wish you a night filled with paper airplanes and other simple pleasures.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. I bet it will still fly.

Yes, life it too short and it can be over in the blink of an eye.

He said it a few different times in quite a few interviews back when I could still bear to listen to him prattle. I'm sure someone could find it if you want to see it, or you could search youtube if you're that interested. I believe him, too, unfortunately.

Well guys, I'm off to attempt to sleep on a mattress on the floor! The dogs are going to try to bother me. >_< And tomorrow: Long, icky, ugly Friday. Ugh.

I hope everyone else has a lovely Friday! Goodnight, darlin's!

S(S)S: Be well, and I hope wherever you are, you are smiling, and you have something wonderful to look forward to. ^_^

Mayo: I hope you also have a reason to smile real big tonight, and tomorrow too. Then, I hope you get to sleep late on the weekend, because that rules, right?

Long days and pleasant nights. :)

sally said...

Nite Kapu.

Amy, you always make me laugh!

Amyranth said...

Kath, it's what I'm here for.

In real life, I have Asses' Ears.

Strange, I've read quite a few interviews and I've never seen that quote. Of course I'm sure a newly married man would say he's happier than he's ever been. As for the rest of that .....

Good night Kapunua, sleep well.

sally said...

Elena, it would be very strange to marry someone you had no feelings for.

I am sure he is content.

Anyway, some people like to talk through their ass. It doesn't mean their bad or mean, just reactive.

ergoproxy said...

hello again

goodnight people off to bed

I have a capricorn partner too, and he is laid back and very calm, and very loving

elena said...

Very true Katherine.

I truly hope he is very happy. I hope his marriage is all that he dreamed it would be and more.

Goodnight Mayonaise.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Hello everyone,

Looks like I missed all the action.

As far as GW and his lecture I thing he will be answering questions about the On raven's wing comic. so he won't have time to be an ass even if he wanted to.

And yes I believe he is an ass. He may have stopped doing it right now. but given my experience with people being asses it always comes back.

I think the quote was something about after the broken engagement he decided to do things that only made him happy. That was during the PR tour. We all remember that.

He was once a nice guy but for some reason he would rather show his "darker side". Some people still see the nice guy some only see the bad guy.

I see a person I used to respect thinking it is cool to act like an asshole. Because you know nice guys finish last.

So in the end I'm just really disappointed in him and feel the need to be very vocal about it.

sally said...

Elena, I think that's what everyone aspires to in marriage. It's always a work in progress.

Ergo, earth signs are meant to be pretty stable. Oh well, I'm water, I am fluid and flexible, I also can wear you down slowly.

ergoproxy said...

I rmemeber him saying that, he decided to only do what makes him happy in Europe,it is in the Kerrang issue 1190 (not youtube)

ergoproxy said...

katherine I'm a virgo and we are supposed to make a good match

It's working so far!

Amyranth said...

Kath, I'm an Earth sign, and while we're stable, it's pretty freaking scary when the earth moves (earthquake, volcano, rock slide).

As for the assery thing, I'm an ass. It's come from years and years of being walked all over by people I thought I could trust. Now I'm an ass until somebody gets into my good books.

Just an example.

ergoproxy said...

amyranth - or when 2 earth signs make the earth move!

sally said...

Ergo, I'm not really au fay with astrology, (my friend fills me in), but you sound like a good match! And I also assume both your personalities balance each other.

elena said...

Hello Martha

Oh yeah, On Raven's Wings. I just bought a copy the other day but haven't received it yet. I really want to read it.

I bought the second issue. Now I'm looking for the first issue.

sally said...

Ohhh, landslides...sounds pretty hot there girls ^_~

ergoproxy said...

haha I'm a bit more tempramental though, so it's more he balances me,
well I like to let him think that!

ergoproxy said...

what is On Ravens Wing?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Elena good lucky. I'm sure that now that it is confirmed as being his comic all the fan girls will rush out and get it. So the price is going to be jacked up.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Ep It is a comic that GW wrote when he was 16 and had it published

sally said...

Ergo, we must never challenge the fragile male ego!

elena said...

Martha you are correct about the price. However I love comics and so I'm willing to pay the price!

Did you catch the video that he's in? Yeah, he's 16 and in the audience.

ergoproxy said...

Oh I recall, the one the other guy came out and said he wasn't given credit or whatever

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I was watching it but I didn't see him. Only in the still photos.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Ep He was upset that GW was claiming UA was his first comic. And he said that GW was ripping him off by using his writings as lyrics for his songs

ergoproxy said...

have you seen the cartoon , Sheep in the big city? I used to watch it then heard he worked on it and got a little thrill when I looked and saw his name in the credits!

elena said...

Actually the publisher of Boneyard Press is pointing out that Dark Horse said UA was Gerard's first comic when in fact it's not. He published under the name Garry Way.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I don't remember that. I will look for it.

Amyranth said...

Ergo, ahahah!!

Gerard worked on Sheep in the Big City? I didn't know that.

-A

ergoproxy said...

was it GW or just people saying it and he didn't correct them?
I remember reading the article but didn't pay a lot of attention.
But then he published that statment in response

I was hoping to come back tonight for a while,...

My nephew just left. Love him.

And well, now my hubby is on his way home. Apparently he cut his finger in half at work. Twelve stitches! Is that even possible? I will be shocked when he gets home I'm sure.

I have no idea what is going on in Blogbelieve...I'm doing a blind comment. So I apologize for...

Just swooping in...can't stay. I was really wishing to hang out with all of you...but just know I'm thinking of you.

♥ to all of you.

ergoproxy said...

he did, not all the series it was already going when he camne into it, he's listed as Interns (I think) something like that.
I used to watch it then Angry Beavers (which is my favourite)

Thanks to the Anonymous who kindly reposted Fimble's note.

Goodnight, everyone around. I'll see you all tomorrow :)

Mayo:

You can't win them all. This isn't to say you shouldn't try, but don't be disappointed when things don't turn out the way you thought they would.

There are times when I'm not sure it's worth it anymore. There are times when these are just words on a screen. I think people often forget that there is someone behind the screen writing them, and the words, hopefully, produce a good effect.

Do remember that they are more than just words. It's someone's life. The words are sometimes their secrets, their innermost thoughts that they can't share anywhere else. It's the only way we can convey feelings here. We're all just human.

Goodnight, Mayo.

Goodnight, SS. May your days be filled with laughter and happiness. And soup, 'cause it's supposed to warm your soul or something like that.

Have a good night.
