Well I spent the day visiting bookstores all around the KC area. Yeah, I was in heaven. I even found a book on ghosts that I hadn’t read. That’s pretty unusual. I wasn’t sure this morning that they day would go well. We were supposed to have snow flurries. It snowed, and snowed and snowed for several hours. Finally it stopped but it’s still bitter cold. I’m looking forward to snuggling up in bed with Jake, my new puppy. I might even read a few chapters of my new ghost book. No, wait I can’t. I have to get up in three hours so I better not. I should be in bed now and to tell you the truth I started in that direction but I couldn’t before I wrote your goodnight. Shit, I’m such a creature of habit. I think today was the longest I’ve been away from the house and I missed everyone so much. It was funny how I would see books today that reminded me of my friends here in you house. I saw a book with a beautiful wolf on the cover and thought of Wendy. I found a copy of “Jaws” and thought of Ergo. Even things that really don’t “fit” make me think of people here like the book about making pickles. Yep, I thought of Possum. The gothic books? Well I thought of TJ of course. Even you Mayo. There was a beautiful little book of poems from 1899. I was reading it earlier. I can’t write poetry but I can appreciate it.
All in all it was a wonderful day. I hope your day was wonderful as well.

Ergo - I see! I met Aussies when I was in Britain and they were all super nice! I keep missing PP :( I am a night owl, too. I get some sleep during the week, but very little. Crikey, I could go on all night I have so many associations I make with everyone here.
So, did you all see that Samoan greeting at the top? Ergo must have been channelling me as I was at Pasifika today, the largest gathering and celebration of all things South Pacific.
It is a yearly event held in a large park that has many natural freshwater springs.
Singers, dancers, musicians, craftsmen, and foodstalls from the Island groups of Nuie, Tuvalu, Fiji, Samoa, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Tahiti, Tonga,and more, form villages and share their culture.
I am still replete on the biggest serving of Palusami (coconut cream and onion wrapped in taro leaves, umu cooked) cooked green banana, and taro, you will ever see this side of Samoa. You won't be seeing that in a WeightWatchers box any time soon ^_^
It's one of those must do things I forgot to mention for Ergo's travel itinerary gift.

It burns you to think about that, doesn't it? It's weird, I see that kind of stuff once every few months; we get in all kinds of raptors that have been shot or tormented. We had to necropsy the body of one who'd had its head cut off like a trophy once. And at work, you just do it. (And I'm the one who deals with raptors there because none of the others will touch them, because they are so intimidating.) So it's not like I'm not used to it, and at work you just deal with it and don't think about it too much. But reading the article made me so angry.
I'm glad you like poetry nights; many people find them boring and pretentious. Oh well, Mayo likes them and after all, it's his hizzouse. ^_^

I really hope that you know what your words and your presence means to the people in this little family, not just the people in blue but also the people who are under the anonymous name.
Your comment @ 11.36am today particularly stood out in more ways then one.
A friend of mine that I was fortunate to meet in this blog, whom has become a very good friend and one that I will keep in contact with, recently lost someone very dear to her. Her grandpa passed away last week, and I know that it is very hard to lose someone in your family. In this particular comment you stated “Never miss an opportunity to tell those you love how much they mean to you.” Well, my friend wasn’t really close to her grandpa but she wanted to be. She wanted to be closer and she wished she had told him how much she loved him, unfortunately though they were separated by living in different countries. When she read your comment, you made her cry just by simply using your words to help others. The words made her think of her situation with her grandpa and the memories that they had made when she was younger. she cant make more memories with him now but she can cherish the ones that remain in her mind and her heart.
You touched someone who needed to hear those words and with that she wants to say thank you. She hopes that you really do know what your words bring to this place and that she hopes you take your own advice and make your memories special. Cherish the ones you love and live life to the full. Remember everything about the ones you love and tell them as often as you can, how you really feel about them because you never know when you may never get to see, hear or touch them again.
Thank you for your words, and thank you for what you did for my friend. You have so much of my respect and I would like to call you my friend.

I'm good, TJ :) We started costumes this week for the new opera, The Barber Of Seville. I get to work with brightly coloured silk. After a couple of months with sombre-coloured cottons and linens it's a real pick-me-up.
Today I got my burgundy hair colour refreshed, which also made me happy :) I tell you what though, I can't wait for spring!!

i was in england jan-may, so i got to experience spring there, and it's remarkably similar here, faraway. i always get a bit nostalgic for my time there when things start greening up.

That depends. The mall close to where I live is open until 9pm every night except Sunday. The bog mall downtown is open until 7pm on Saturdays.
