Do not surrender your ears.

The click of the door brought comfort to my well worn ears and my heart sick chest. My throat, raw from futile attempts at making myself heard, was bleeding. Alone in the center of the room I am suddenly cold and tired. The heat having been drained from the room at your departure and every ounce of energy I had was expended to keep myself from begging you to stay. You had to go.

Then, relief washes over me in its sickening way. I am suddenly aware of the emptiness of my stomach and my sudden urge to vomit. To dry heave the words I did not say. “I am sorry, don’t go.” Instead, I sit. Right there, I sit right in the middle of the room that heard my pleas for you to leave, my pleading for you to stop believing and start listening to the truth. “Why don’t you hear me?...I have done such terrible things.”

Sitting there, alone with my shame, I realized I had let this drag out far too long.

p.s. make sure it is so loud that they have no choice but to listen.

Does anyone of you Americans here know when the 'Sex & the City' movie is coming out?
Are there any S&tC fans here?

Hi Pantera, Carrie, Mya, Siobhan & Miscellaneous Anons!

Still eating junk food in my jammies.

Yes, Ashlee Simpson does look better with the new nose, but what about all the "individuality & loving yourself" crap she spouted beforehand when she wanted teenage girls to buy her record? I wish some of these female vocalists would realise that to be a true legend, no cosmetic surgery, partial nudity or pelvic thrusting is actually required. Just look at Aretha, Dusty, Karen Carpenter and Carole King. Even the former "X-Tina" seems to acknowledge this.

I still love Britney though...

Siobhan-san, their already showing some previews for the sex and the city movie, but I'm not a fan. Kass, you brought up an excellent point. I do recall Ashlee saying similar things like that before, but when someone usually says that, in the end, they become a fucking contradiction.

It's business as usual. If they truly had respect for themselves and wanted to inspire young girls to love themselves, they wouldn't have to be selling themselves out.

Don't say that you want your female fans to respect and love themselves unless you actually MEAN it.

Anonymous said...

Do that, BC!!!

I will eat with you (in my mind)!!!

Pancakes, pancakes, pancakes!!!!

I almost fell off my chair when I watched 'The Hills' and they were celebrating some girl's birthday and this Lauren said to her: 'Look, I'm eating carbs. I'm eating carbs, because it's your birthday'.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

How awful must it be to chasten yourself so much.

Carrie said...

I was a huge Carole King fan, I might have to go dig my old Tapestry album back out, haven't listed to it in ages. And you're right about the cookiecutter singers nowadays. Britney, I just feel sorry for her. Have you seen those horrible t-shirts that have a pic of Heath Ledger in a heart and say Why couldn't it be Britney?

Anonymous said...

I heard that this girl from 'Highschool Musical' (Ashley Tisdale?) is losing her fans, because she had a nose job and said that it had to be done because of her deviated septum. haha

And who is buying Ashlee Simpson's cd's now?

They may look better, but their career is O-V-E-R!

Kassiopeia said...

You're not a Perez Hilton afficionado too?!

And are you the "Carrie" from SATC, 'cos that would be, like, so Cooool!!

I read that Britney's uncle told a tabloid that she already drank and did drugs at the age of 13.
Her father was an alcoholic and most of her family too.

Lol Kass!

Aw man, Blogger at my last comment! Yes, I do read Perez, evil little troll that he is. But alas, I am not a fun loving single gal living it up in the city. More like fat suburban housewife, a show nobody wants to see!

Anonymous said...

I like 'I don't like you in that way' better.

Anonymous said...

Siobhan-san, that's fucking horrible! Some carbs are good for you though. Don't worry, when the day comes where I will stuff my face with pancakes, I will do it in your honor! And then I will gulp it all down with a giant glass of fresh orange juice! And then, I will burp and when I do, I will not say "Excuse me." >:D

Anonymous said...

I don't like that Perez wants to become a celebrity himself. That's why he kisses other celebrities asses such as Paris' or whoever.
And that's why he doesn't tell all the juicy stuff about them anymore, because he's afraid that they drop him like a hot potatoe.

Kassiopeia said...

I was just getting all excited as well, Carrie...

Anyway it's not "Fat housewife", it's "Rubenesque Domestic Engineer"!

If you like perezhilton.com, but despise Perez Hilton, try d.listed.com. He writes about the same stuff but his bitchiness is funnier.

Siobhan-san, Ashlee Simpson sucks indeed. And oh, when you try to pretend to be someone you're not, like when she tried with the entire "punk" persona, you are crossing the line. I don't appreciate fakeness in people.

Aww Carrie, I bet that's not true. I bet you're a wonderful person.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaah! *kicks her own butt*

Anonymous said...

It would be cool wouldn't Siobhan-san? I do know that they film Buffy's house and high school in a L.A. suburb called Torrance and then the cemetery and Angel's mansion is filmed in L.A. I saw some pictures of the locations on some website a while back.

As for the Buffy yearbook, I actually have it, but I don't have it with me.

Hello CTV!

Yes, Elena, how are your daughters and what happened at school that they had to leave the building?

Anonymous said...

No, I can't accept that Elena!

I know that book is big and heavy. It will cost a fortune alone to send it to Germany.

I'm so embarrassed right now. This is such a wonderful gesture, Elena.
But I can't accept this. Please, don't be upset!

Elena, I'm doing much better today. Yesterday pretty much everyone was down, you know?

I was at work when it happened and my youngest daughter sent me a text that said "Something is really bad. They are putting us on buses and getting us away from the school as far as they can. There are not enough buses."
Well I guess you know how much that scared me. I closed the store and drove to the school. She text again saying she couldn't get out the door because too many people were panicking. By the time I got there both of my daughters had gotten on buses and left the school. It was not a good day.

Yo I thought they were engaged. Whichever, I'll party for those two any day. I've met them both and they are beautiful. They were nice to my cousin and I; Jamia told my cousin all about James's dog as we were petting it and Frank talked to her all about his dog, Mama. They are lovely people and Jamia has the most gorgeous complexion. Random observation.

Anonymous said...

RW, that is a tough haircut to handle, do you think? Would you have to style it every day? Looks like she's got a buttload of gel in that biddy. O_o

It's actually pretty close to the haircut I already have, except the one I'm sporting now is much longer (angled) at the sides. Those long bits are getting unruly, something must be done!

I've sent the pic to my hairdresser. if she thinks it's not a good cut for me, she'll tell me, then we'll do somehtign different.

Well, I told him that maybe he could put her on w/d and he was like, "Yeah? What's w/d?" I told him it was low calorie dog food and he just laughed, which of course, so did I, because his laugh is so infectious I'm pretty sure they invented it on Plum Island and every time he does it, a fairy is born.

Then I totally facepalmed after he left. "Did I just tell him that his dog was fat? Seriously? Not 'thank you for coming out to sign things' or 'you played wonderfully tonight'?"

Me FTW! ;D

so how are you. what you been up to. looking forward to the big day? i think we sooooo need a party

ergoproxy said...

sorry Fimble we had a visitor

yes I did catch it myself I was very excited.
Hubby and our mate caught a couple bigger and a few small ones.
They jump a bit and come up from under the lure and open their mouth huge and then dive.
It's pretty amazing to catch one.

the biggest are females (they change sex)but they don't breed in the dams they stock them (they need salt water to breed)and have a closed season (which is now so you can't take them)

is the anon ok?

Completley my mistake: it was not Ronnie DeFeo who injured my Dad, that had happened earlier.

And I just found out how easy it is to google this case and find out my Dad's name, which makes me a little uncomfy TBH. O_o Gosh, I had no idea this info (some of it false) was still out there.

I'm fine, thank you, FS :) But very stuffed!! Time of the month coming, my appetite goes way up.

I actually haven't got much planned for my birthday. I've got a hair appointment, then will maybe go for a pedicure, maybe hang out with some friends that evening. Very low-key.

How are you this weekend?

Amyranth said...

Speaking of the fish, we went to Red Lobster tonight and there was a lobster in the tank that was so freaked out, he backwards swam out of one tank into the other.

Poor guy.

Fimble Star said...

wow ergo, sounds interesting. the fish on the pic looks huge and you looked like you was so proud to catch it hahaha. i am not to keen on fish,i think they look scary. its the face and the eyes.

jules, i dont know the full story of this i didnt even know it was a true story. was your dad ok after it?

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, my Dad's good. He's a hardcase, hardly anything gets to him. ^_^

Fimble Star said...

amy - do you eat lobster?

rw, that sounds like a nice day. i remember you telling me about your hair and pedicure.

my weekend is ok, today i looked after my niece. that was a mission and a half, she was painting and decided to eat the paint and then with a hand full of paint decided to smack me in the face. i had a baby blue hand print on my cheek. ha
tomorrow it is a big football game for me (soccar), my team manchester united are playing miss t team who are spurs. so i will see who will win haha. then i am going on the web cam to see my family back home.

This must be the new Amityville. I don't remember that in the original one!

Fimble Star said...

lol it is i think. the babysitter was locked in the cupboard and the little dead girl comes and forces the finger in the bullet hole in her head. not pretty

which day is your birthday RW?

I like fish,I have a tank with goldfish and we fish quite a lot, sometimes for keeping and eating and sometimes just for fun.
The Barra are very docile fish once they are out of the water, I think they get caught so often they are used to it. lol

Fimble Star said...

lol ergo, just part of the day job then.

Amyranth said...

Fimble, I've had lobster a few times, but i'm not a huge fan.

I actually felt pretty bad for those guys in the tank.

Lol! Eh... I may not be in much on that day, as it's the day I'm getting the hair/pedi done, and will most likely be visiting with friends in the evening.

Fimble Star said...

ohhh well we must have it another day then. when star comes on you both should pick a day for your party ha.

yes i am sad i really want a party lol

resurrected wreck said...

when star comes on you both should pick a day for your party ha.

Friday would probably work for me, though I don't know if it would for Star.

I think, though that there are two or three other people who have February birthdays. I think we were going to have a group party for this, weren't we? Though I don't think a day was picked out.

resurrected wreck said...

I just had a big glass of milk. If I have a rum & gingerale now will it curdle in my stomach, do you think?

CTV - need an MCR calendar. I have three left looking for good homes.

Sorry Elena! I already bought my Sonny calender for 2008. Thanks anyway, dear.

Wow!

I know! I kept meaning to go out for a lobster dinner, but I was a poor student at the time.

capture this void said...

Hey FS.

I'm so sorry to hear about your nana, sweetie. My thoughts are with you and your family.

*tight hug*

Fimble Star said...

cheers ctv, big bear hug back to you.

how are you doing,

elena said...

No prob CTV just thought I'd ask. Wonder how pissed I could make the husband if I hung one in his work shop?

*I'm doing a very evil laugh*

resurrected wreck said...

i really do not know rw, what is rum and gingerale. is it a form of ice cream?

It's a ginger beer with a splash of rum in it.

capture this void said...

I'm doing well, Fimble. Thanks for asking.

Elena, do it! ;)

Hi CTV

I haven't had lobster but we have crayfish (they don't have the big claws)
and mud and sand crab and bugs (like a crabby thing)and prawns
I like pretty much all seafood except mussles and oysters, clams are nicer than I expected

hi CTV Amyranth we are cleaning so I'm jumping in and out!

Anonymous said...

Hi Elena!!

I'm not big on rum but I do love a scotch and ginger ale
We brew our own ginger beer and you can make it alcoholic! Very nice. ^_^

Fimble Star said...

hey elena

*waves like a loon*

I've got no scotch in the house :/ Got some Canadian whisky though.

Amyranth said...

RW - Oddly enough, back in the day eating lobster meant you WERE poor. When my mom was a kid if you could only afford fish it meant you couldn't afford beef and you were ridiculed.

Funny how times change.

resurrected wreck said...

Indeed, A!

capture this void said...

Hello Ergo!

Amyranth said...

O_O

Why would you ruin a good scotch with Gingerale?
