A little rough around the edges…

I have not yet entered into a static free zone. Buzz, buzz, buzz…my head is ready to fucking split. I asked him if it still mattered at all.

I am waiting for his reply.

I have been half way around my brain with this shit, and it just keeps coming up the same. And I am repeating myself, here in the dark, not quite alone.

In time.

p.s. patience please, my lovelies...I am listening.

My comment was a bit slow there.

I hope it's all OK Kapunua.

Good luck K.

Being denied the answer is so painful. It is extremely painful. But sometimes, well at least in my brother's case (and maybe in your case too MissT), I believe there is a reason for not knowing what really happened. Actually, I think I'm better off. I consider it a blessing.

anima said...

MissT, I actually found that quote last week, but for some reason kept forgetting until it dawned me last night. I'm glad you like it. I was worried it was going to sound hokey.

Carrie said...

That's such a sad story Miss T, but thanks for sharing it. I'm glad we all do things like that here. I hope telling it lightened your load a bit.

MissTottenham said...

I'm glad you feel that way Anima. If it brings you comfort then it is good.

I'm just really glad that we went to that car boot sale and saw him. It was the weirest thing because we just decided to go out of the blue and we'd never been there before. Some things are just inexplicable.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Miss t I'm so sorry to hear about that. I hope that someday you find out the reason it ended up that way.

anima said...

It's strange how things like that happen. It's also a reminder too that every moment is precious.

MissTottenham said...

Thank you Carrie, I do feel a little better.

I know I'm not religous but I do like to learn about religion. And as you know my preference is for all things Egyptian.

Egyptians believed that if you spoke about and thought about a deceassed person, it gave them immortality as they were not really dead but still alive in your hearts and your memmories.

Also, to speak the deceassed persons name aloud gave them sustenance in the afterlife.

I would appreciate it if everyone would say the name Dominic aloud at some point tonight.

anima said...

MissT, have you listened to the interview with Mikey and Frank?

It will bring a smile to your face.

anima said...

Absolutely MissT. I'd be happy to do that.

Carrie said...

I'll do that and throw in a candle burning for good measure.

farawaysoclose said...

miss T you made me cry i am feeling for you! 3 yrs isn't long at all everything is still pretty raw and the not knowing why must just be terrible! thinking of you anyway, not that it helps but i am. i hate anniversaries of deaths.

MissTottenham said...

Thank you Martha.

I guess in the end, knowing what truly happened won't change anything anyway.

MissTottenham said...

Thank you faraway.

I'm glad I caught you on your allocated 2 minutes online (that's how it always seems anyway).

Yes Anima, I listened as I was writing the blog so I didn't really laugh but it was a good interview.

MissTottenham said...

It is quiet tonight. I hope I didn't put people off with my sad story.

Really, I'm OK Anima. I just wanted to do talk about him so I thought I'd share it here. It felt good to do so.

MissTottenham said...

it was cool missT i don't have AIM but hey i don't think i really would get away with anything else would I!!!
i wonder if steve was legit, i'd like to hope so but who knows?!

I wonder about our little friend Steve. I mean I wonder who he is.

Hello to all. How are we today?

Miss T, I'm so sorry about your cousin. That must have been really hard on all of you.

*special hug*

MissTottenham said...

Thank you CTV *enjoys hug*

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I think he may have been a roadie if he was legit

capture this void said...

Yeah, that was really nice of Steve to drop by and answer your questions. I didn't get a chance to meet him but he sounded friendly.

Let's hope he drops by soon, eh? He must have been a long-time lurker if he's heard of DM.

anima said...

I also wonder if Mayo will come and visit us sometime today. And I wonder what he is wearing. ;)

SS, the same goes for you.

anima said...

It was kind of interesting that Steve stopped by DM instead of here.

MissTottenham said...

It sure would be nice if Mayo or SS turned up. I could do with cheering up.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Hi CTV how are you? I am so not a person who hugs people so I often forget about that kind of stuff so Miss t here is a hug for you.

MissTottenham said...

Thank you Martha, and a very nice hug it is too. You should do this more often.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

You're welcome Miss t. I think Steve hasn't be around that long. He didn't now how intense we were until we started questioning him. On the Dm think we have been talking about it a lot lately and the URL was given out for J's party I think that is how Steve knew where to go.

MissTottenham said...

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Original Punk J said...

Actually, I take that back. Physically, I feel a bit better, but emotionally, I don't know, something is just off today.

Not really anything I can pinpoint, but I have a weird feeling that I just can't shake. Like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

L.

Awww, Ray's getting married. Ray is the coolest. He is so level-headed. I really admire that about him.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

You know L I was feeling that way to. than I listen to that Frank and Mikey interview I felt better. I have a feeling that tomorrow I will go back to my shitty self ones again I just can't seem to shake that feeling it just won't go away.

MissTottenham said...

Well L, we can share that icky feeling together.

I didn't know if it was just because of it being Dom's anniversary, but I feel all on edge too.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

anon you are talking about the nightline interview?

MissTottenham said...

I'll bet once Frank gets married in March and once Ray gets married, Bob's girlfriend will be all *arms crossed* "well, don't you have something you want to ask me".

Original Punk J said...

I listened to the interview, and that was great to hear. It had been a while since I had heard an interview where they actually LAUGHED, not just laughed.

I don't know. Maybe it's just gloomy looking outside, or I'm still tired, or the talk of Kurt Cobain this morning, I just don't know.

I'm usually the "cheer up" person!

I guess you can't smile all the time.

L.

Anonymous said...

Morning everyone!!

Miss t lol no bloodshed.

I am really happy for him and I hope they are very happy together.

he seems such a lovely guy and I hope he will appreciate and care for her and she will appreciate and care for him always.
It's a nice piece of news to come back to.
Apart from that i am soooo tired. Elton JJohn is a fantastic singer and the show was really enjoyable (not as good as a rock concert though) but the best bit was being away with the others and I won $18 at the casino with some credits a person left on a virtual roulette game!!
(3 hrs sleep Tues night has hit me today though !!)

Original Punk J said...

Plus if it's an interview with Gerard, I don't even want to look at it, but thank you. He just brings it all down lately.

I'm at home with my dog and we STILL don't know anything. They won't have any results for another few days still. Also she got some kind of bug or reaction to all the pills she's been on so she's off her food now, too.

Anonymous said...

Aw shucks, gnothi, thanks!

Well a gunman has killed 8 people at a mall in Nebraska.

I'm sick and tired of the gun control issue. There's got to be better by-laws or something. Man....Give me a second with an idiot who wants to pull something like that when he's without his gun....Ugh. Dangerous civilians with guns are cowards. It's males a lot of the time, too! I think it's sort of like some twisted phallic symbol or somethin'....It's about power all too often.

Sdock, I haven't heard any of the news yet. You know, it's like every year there's another episode of this, the "crazed gunmen" thing. I have no sympathy for those people and I wish they'd just turn the gun on themselves first. And I have no shame about saying that.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Miss t I feel the same way Elena feels

Anonymous said...

missT it is really hard to understand why some things happen, why some people are lost while others you think are far less deserving of life remain.
It is best to remember him as he was before, not as you saw him last. he wasn't really there anymore then, he'd moved on, whole and I believe to a better place.
I have lost students in accidents, illness suicide and in one case a murder and I always wonder what they may have been. A friend too said goodbye to her husband as he went for his morning jog and the next person at her door was the police. It is tragic and not knowing why makes it so much harder, it seems it was just a terrible accident.
My favourite quote
to live on on the hearts of those you leave behind is not to die
I suppose what I want you to know is that there are so many people who know and understand how you feel and that there is nothing wrong with you for feeling this way and in fact it really shows how much you cared for him and how much he does still live on in your heart.
Many hugs and comfort to you.
I don't know if this helps but I am thinking of you and his family and friends.
And things like this should remind all of us that it is so important to show those we love that we do everyday because you really do never know what may be around the corner.

He told us he doesn’t like to do Dutch Ovens on himself or anyone else, his worst habits are biting his nails and smoking cigarettes, and he’ll be spending all his downtime in NZ, drawing for his comic books. At the end of the interview he kindly signed a few autographs for us and we repayed the favour by giving him OUR autographs! He seemed genuinely grateful and said ‘I will honestly keep this’. Maybe he was tired, stressed, or just forgetful, but we noticed he left the room and the autographed photo of us lay discarded on the coffee table. You can hear the entire interview on our podcast. Hi Elena,
I've heard of the Dresden Files ( James Marsters reads them )but I haven't read them.

LoTR- when watching the first film the cinema was deathly quiet whilst a fight with the Orcs was going on.
There was this really graphic decapitation and all of a sudden this little child burst out laughing, breaking the tension and the whole cinema was in hysterics.
One of those had to be there moments, it was hilarious.

What a young child ( about 6 ) was doing there I don't know, but he was cool!

But Angel was cack.

Miss t the x men movie could have been way better. I hated the fact that they made all the strong X women so weak for the movie. I guess men can't handle strong women.

MissT,

X-Men puts me to sleep too.

muahahahah

Kapunua,

I can't do The Matrix like ...No, not even a little bit. Too much Keanu Reeves.

Star Wars..I just missed out on it when I was a kid and now I'm too old to care.

gnothi seauton said...

Kapunua - umm, that's just you I think.

Ergo - aww, I'm going to have to re-read The Hogfather now 'tis the season :)

Dutch Ovens - love it.

Well, yeah, Buffy does rule. Gotta agree on that one.

Re: Star Wars: Han Solo should have shot Greedo first. Just throwing that out there. >_>

Anyone ever do that Star Wars "pants" thing? Where you replace key words in SW with pants? "Your pack of PANTS disturbs me."

Maybe...

I find your lack of pants disturbing.

You are unwise to lower your pants.

Your pants, you will not need them.

The Force is strong in my pants.

You came in those pants? You're braver than I thought.

I cannot teach him. The boy has no pants.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

No miss t not Angel you are wounding me.

elena said...

Oh and yeah, Star Wars rules.

But I just assumed everyone knew that!

gnothi seauton said...

Miss T - Buffy ROOLS!

MissTottenham said...

I guess really what I am trying to say is that I hate comic book films, do you know what I mean?

Comics OK, but don't make it into a film cos it comes out too childish.

Also, films like The Matrix with the stupid special effects. I call them anti gravety films. I bloody hate those.

I like a good horror myself.

I am here to say good evening and to admit that I hate Star Wars and HP.
Will I be shunned?

Dresden Files excellent
Tanya Huff's Blood Ties series also excellent

Oh my god, I'm not the only Star Wars / pants nerd. That is like catnip to me.

Luke. Help me take...these pants off.

That blast came from those pants!

Your pants betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for your sister!

Anon,

I've read Storm Front and am getting ready to read Fool Moon. I wanted to give the second one a try b/c I wasn't thrilled with the first, and thought, well maybe it gets better as you go.

Haven't read Proven Guilty, though.

Star Wars? Oh man, I saw the original when it first came out! L saw "Empire" at a drive-in, lying on the hood of the car. Nothing like a wampa paw right in your face, hunh?

Then there's replacing "wand" with "wand" in Harry Potter, and Harry Potter Innuendo list.

"What did he do to you, Diddy?" Aunt Pentunia said in a quavering voice, now sponging sick from the front of Dudley's leather jacket. "Was it-- was it you-know-what, darling? Did he use-- his thing?"

Anonymous said...

A disturbance in the pants. I have not felt this since near my old master...

gnothi seauton said...

I shall state this now:

Buffy - start swotting :)

Anonymous said...

"He came last night, when you were in bed," said Mr. Weasley.

"He [Harry] tried to eat, but it was like chewing carpet."

"...which left Harry free to sit down on the grass between the beech and the bushes and watch the foursome under the tree."

"Panting, Harry fell forwards over the hydrangea bush, straightened up and stared around. There were several faces peering trough various nearby windows. Harry stuffed his wand hastily back into his jeans and tried to look innocent."

MY INNOCENCE, IT IS GONE.

Hello Star my fello HP hater.

So sdock, what films do you like?

Anonymous said...

Hi, Star. Welp, I don't get any results back for a few days, is the latest. But she's picked up a bug or had a reaction to her medications and she's off her food, too. The whole thing is so frustrating.

Thank you for asking. ^_^
