I am sitting at a table with friends, it is dark and loud. I am bored. I am absently searching for something affecting to distract me, when I spot myself sitting across the room. I am at a table with some friends…and I am staring right back at myself. I am unable to look away. The gaze between us has me transfixed. Then he, the other me, shuns me with a smirk and joins the conversation at his table. He is speaking, and his hands are gesturing along with his alluring tale. His friends are captivated by the unconstrained other me. I envy his ease. Now I am alone at my table and I am singing to the other me. My song is pleading for him to hear, to once again find me, but he does not. And just as I am about to stop singing, you grab my hand and pull me up from my chair, and I wake up.
p.s. it is because the light reflected from painted glass is ambiguous. mirror me in your words, and that is where I find clarity. as do you, in each others.

I'm getting caught up this morning. I read through comments from 'careful', 'nonananon', and that other one. I missed out on the list. I don't know whether I was on it or not, but I guess it doesn't matter now.
I have to say, I'm not exactly comfortable with calling our little group a 'mafia'. Do you realize what that implies?
Sure, I don't like the anons who come in here and start throwing insults. But I'm not about to order my boys to give them a pair of cement shoes and drop them in the river. Know what I mean?
Truthfully, I don't see a problem with answering questions from anons or strangers, unless they start getting nasty with us, and then I think it's time to start ignoring. But do we really want to shut out everyone we don't know, just because we don't know them, without giving them a chance?
I mean, how did this group start out in the first place? It was a bunch of strangers who don't know each other, right? What if we'd never given each other a chance? Or what if we'd started excluding people weeks or months ago? We would've missed out on some good company I think.
I'm not saying we shouldn't protect ourselves or each other. I'm just saying that we should be careful about how we choose to do it. Personally I like to avoid broad labels and all-out exclusion. I think it's going too far.
And since when to we listen to 'careful' anyway? We're going to let a stranger tell us to watch out for strangers? Does anyone else think that's odd?
Anyway... I know I'm late, and everything I'm saying hae probably already been said long before I arrived and attempted to get caught up. But I just couldn't let my opinion go unheard. It's important to me. I hope you all understand.

Adrian Lyne did 9 1/2 Weeks, Flashdance and Jacob's Ladder. I really prefer his version of Lolita, because it's more true to Nabokov's novel than Kubrick's. It's DEVASTATING. I mean....Even listening to the director's commentary is difficult. So beautiful, plus Ennio Morricone's music puts it so that it really gets to you. I have the script, the book, the audiobook, heart-shaped glasses....I'm obsessed. It's just that good. PLUS. JEREMY IRONS. He's the most beautiful man EVER. EVER. And his voice......

I understand that people want to go somewhere else that is not well known to say things they now feel they can't say here and that they don't want to advertise it and attract those they seek to avoid. That's cool...I understand that.
But maybe then it shouldn't be mentioned at all. The 'nudge nudge wink wink head over to the other place and i'll tell you' type comments in here were only ever going to cause hurt and confusion.

The only reason the other blog was mentioned was because Kapunua wanted to discuss a single point with a couple/three of us, and she didn't want to do it in front of any strangers. We went over, talked about it, then came back. Should have been end of story. But several other people thought we were ALL going over there to get away from the Anons, etc. No no no. There was no hidden agenda. It was kinda like the little bunch of us needed to go off in the corner for a minute to get our thoughts together. We weren't trying to dis anybody, or exclude anybody. Kapunua had an idea, she wanted to talk to us, so she mentioned the other blog.

Like I said, this Latin anon must know Latin very well, because it's more than just Medieval Latin and new age Latin, some of the words are not even within the Latin dictionaries that are available. So, I'm trying my best. I've got the time anyway, when I'm not trying to master Metallica on GH3 :)

ergo, the trick to drying herbs is to make sure they are dry to strat with -- wash them and pat them thoroughly dry -- and if it's too humid, you might want to try drying them in a very low oven, with the door left open.
have you thought about freezing them? it's easier -- just chuck them in a freezer bag after washing and drying -- and the flavor lasts longer, too. the thing with basil (it was basil you asked about right?) is that it's going to change color no matter what. basil darkens no matter what you do to it, but it doesn't affect the quality.

The word 'amicoque' was hard to find. I had to go through a Latin text that had an English translation after. The anon also used 'quum' instead of 'cum'. I don't know what to think. I just like the hunt! :)

The word amicoque won't show up in dictionaries that are on google, but it doesn't mean it's not Latin. It is. It's not common, though.
