I am sitting at a table with friends, it is dark and loud. I am bored. I am absently searching for something affecting to distract me, when I spot myself sitting across the room. I am at a table with some friends…and I am staring right back at myself. I am unable to look away. The gaze between us has me transfixed. Then he, the other me, shuns me with a smirk and joins the conversation at his table. He is speaking, and his hands are gesturing along with his alluring tale. His friends are captivated by the unconstrained other me. I envy his ease. Now I am alone at my table and I am singing to the other me. My song is pleading for him to hear, to once again find me, but he does not. And just as I am about to stop singing, you grab my hand and pull me up from my chair, and I wake up.
p.s. it is because the light reflected from painted glass is ambiguous. mirror me in your words, and that is where I find clarity. as do you, in each others.

Well that's precisely it, Chaos. The whole idea of "selling out" *does* suck, but it also does happen. Most of the time you can just overlook it: success changes things, it changes people. Sometimes it changes people for the better, makes them stronger. In this case, I think it might have had that effect.
Then Gerard went goddamn crazy this summer, turned an entire tour that was meant to unite bands and fans into a two-person diva show, and then, in order to impress his new social circle, took a band on tour with them that is the direct opposite of everything he ever said he stood for. Everything he said he stood for. Not what other people said he stood for.
I was actually just really feeling sorry for him and kind of annoyed for screwing around with what was supposed to be and could have been an awesome show, up until the news of this tour came along. Then I went from exasperation to wanting to vomit with the force of an air-cannon.
OTOH, it happens, you know?

I've got to say, guys, the molehill became a mountain.
The list was only created to be an aid to those of us who are regulars. "Careful" warned us expressly not to trust random people popping in and asking weird questions. Sometimes we've gotten careless and said things we shouldn't have. All our friend was doing was telling us to watch our backs.
There must be a reason Careful posted those comments. More people may be talking than need to be. We pride ourselves on being discreet, but we're never completely safe.
All we have to do is keep quiet with specifics. Nothing else has changed. No one is being singled out or ignored or shunned. We just want our Family to be on the DL, y'know?
L and I noticed Careful's comments earlier, and started thinking, Hey, you know, that's good advice. We all really ought to heed it. That's why we tried to point those words out in the first place; the idea of a list soon followed.
I for one plan to continue posting on Mayo's blog as per usual. I don't see that we particularly need to use "the other one". All we have to do is be a little more "careful" with what we write. I certainly will.
Everybody please just settle down, and let's go back to what we were:

sorry about the length of time it took for me to reply, star -- it's about this time every night that my computer drops my connection. *grr*
in the summer time, i can't wear my hair down very often, because it's just too damn hot, so i usually coil it up and secure with a chopstick. and yes, i do wear glasses, and yes, i do give off a warped librarian vibe! lol
