Is it true that we value in others what we want to see in ourselves, the missing piece...pieces, or peace? Who surrounds you? Why are they near? I hold dear to my heart those whose passion can find no limit, those with righteous hearts, and calloused fingers. Because I aspire to be more than I have brought to the table so far.
What is missing? I can not watch myself from a distance...it is far too painful. The awkwardness, the shuffle, gives rise to self doubt and sour bile. I rely on second hand tales and the perceptions of others to deliver me from evil. Introspection has never been my finest skill...so I challenge myself to look.
p.s. here we go, one last time...it's in the blood.

I think I have come to the wrong place.
Yes, I believe that was probably during the same time that Bill Clinton wasn't inhaling.
And he did not, let me repeat, did not, have sexual relations with that woman.
PS - I don't consider myself a feminist, I just don't like the hypocrisy. Or MSI's lyrics.
Come to think of it, I can't think of anything about them I *do* like!
Anon51, thank you :)
I don't consider myself a feminist,
May I ask why not? Because a feminist is just someone who wants women to be treated equally to men and not be regarded as second-class citizens. No matter how much Bill O'Reilly and his ilk try to spin the word.
SM, The sound to me is awesome. It combines several sounds that I enjoy. Industrial, punk, a mix of others, and I am genuinely impressed by Jimmy's range (it's true). Do not insult MCI just because you discovered them through a route that dissappointed you.
[Side Note: What if they or someone they know was molested/taken advantaged of? Does it change your point of view?]
You don't like them. But I understand why MCR likes them. Oh well, I cannot explain it.
tipper huh???

Watching Alton Brown now on the Food Network and then off to dreamland. Hope everyone has a great evening!
Here's one page on the 'I'm Not A Feminist, But...' phenomenon.
I'm not a feminist, but...
I'm Not A Feminist, But... Factors contributing to the discrepancy between pro-feminist orientation and feminist social identity.
Awesome page on some of the terms, good and bad, tossed around regarding feminism.
Anti-feminists have taken that word away from us and made it into something derogatory. What was meant as an equal rights movement has been slanted so that it's now just as "bad" as being called a "bitch" or something. It's the new "F-Word" that no one wants to associate with because they don't want to be viewed as some kind of non-shaving lesbian who wants to castrate men or something. That's very sad, it's real shame. Because if you want women to be treated fairly, what do you call that?
Anon30, way to dodge the issue I just gave you. You come on here accusing me of being like Tipper Gore when in actuality I was really just taking what Gerard said many, many times. I point that out to you along with the fact that I specifically said I was against the censorship of music, and you just kind of ignore it. Anything at all to say?
I never referred to you as Tipper.
*crickets*
Why is it that no one wants to answer my question [my side note from above]?
Does it change your point of view? Any of you?
Kapunua, why is it that almost every post yout make has you egging someone on? It's almost like you love to start arguments here. When someone wants to civilly let something go, you won't let them and you keep pressing on. Way to be mature.
It wouldn't change my point of view. There are other ways to word the song that can get the point across if their intention was to be sarcastic.
This is a group that does things just to shock people. I know that what they are doing is a "joke" but even things that are said jokingly can offend people.
When someone wants to civilly let something go, you won't let them and you keep pressing on.
Making references to Tipper Gore after I specifically said that I was against censorship and that these were things that Gerard had said--not I--is hardly what I'd call civil. And if there's one thing I hate it's when people come into a conversation not only hostile, not only missing the point, but then dodging the issue when it's pointed out to them that they have, in fact, acted hostile and missed the point.
Anon30, to answer your question, an emphatic no. Being abused still does not give you the carte blanche to throw around hateful words and not get called on it. Why should it?
Now do you mind answering my post to you?
"Now do you mind answering my post to you?"
Exactly my point. Why can't you just drop things? This isn't the first time.
Sorry for not responding. But I'll take a stab at this. If someone close to any of the members of MSI or any actual member of MSI were wrongfully taken advantage of, I would offer nothing but my sympathy. That's never a good issue, nor is it something that can be forgotten. I'd feel for them. I would like to know if any of that is the case, though. I critically judge lyrics, to a fault at times. On first listen, all I hear is the music. But beyond that, I analyze the shit out of lyrics. I like to know the back-history, the history of the lyricist, where they were when they wrote this particular line, etc. I would take a second look at the band had something like that happened. I'd then read the lyrics and the context in which they were said, and then I'd go from there. But, I've already read the lyrics without knowing anything about the band at all. And from where I stand, the lyrics are disgusting. That's my take.
New Mayo post

Exactly my point. Why can't you just drop things? This isn't the first time.
I wasn't addressing you.
You know what? I'm still a little bit curious as to how come the Anon that had tried to stray us towards their blog just suddenly stopped. And the whole "this is all just an elaborate fanfic" thing? I wonder if they realized that we're not exactly lambs to slaughter?
Let's not forget the issue of the wool.
[Side Note: What if they or someone they know was molested/taken advantaged of? Does it change your point of view?]
Are msi lyrics used to shock people into paying attention to molestation?
Then maybe is should be stated and or all profits from that song should go to victims
Or are the lyrics used to shock people into paying attention to the band?
then that is sick and disturbing!
Caution, you appear to be emotionally close
Ever have SS or Mayo over there?
No, I have not unfortunately, but at this point, no one knows if they read other people's blogs. I did have Love Man post a couple of comments on one of mines though :)
Good point, Kapunua. I prefer to focus on all people being equal. When I hear the term feminist, I think of such lovely woman as Betty Friedan - whom I rabidly dislike. But yes, I agree that women should be treated as equal. Hell, we're MORE equal. ^_~
Anon30, I wasn't saying that no one should like MSI. I was simply stating that I can't stand them. If you like their music, you're entitled. I just don't think that their 'message' fits in with what Gerard spoke so openly against for the past five years.
New blog? Hmm, glad we weren't 'mothballed'. Or I'd be CRUSHING some balls!
G'nite! ^_^
^ Is all good. I Still Love You Like I Did Yester...day. ^_~

Mayo, you are on the path to an enlightened and self-aware new year. Just look back a few months ago to what you wrote. I see a new new man beginning to awaken. You often talk of your fears, but it takes real courage to look inside yourself. Keep up the good work.
