Anonanswers, we are not sure about tonight. The stream was not really expected anyway. Regardless of whatever happened tonight, show/no show, MCR cancelled prior, and MSI could have cancelled tomorrow's show.
I am still not sold on the whole Bob arm thing. It really makes no sense. (But then again, I had doubts right before we found out about the staph infection.)

I don't know Paperheart. Maybe it was dwindling before the concert, but with it being such a publicly displayed event, they'd probably have no choice but to play. Concert-goers and reviews did state that Gerard was having a hard time that night with his voice. But, I honestly don't know. I don't think anyone does.

I learned today, that according to a standard Promoter-Artist contract, one without all the bells and whistles, that a show should be cancelled no later than 30 days before the event is to be held.
That's again, why I'm confused Ergo.
Honestly, I blame Reprise for most of this crap. The one thing that I can say about MCR that is bad is that they signed with them. They should have stayed Indie. No question. MCR should wrap up their contract and take the band back.

Reprise is probably not the one to blame for anything. It's probably, if anyone is at fault for anything, the big wigs at Warner. And had they stayed on Eyeball, Bullets may have been the last album we all heard. Unless Geoff wanted to pitch in to help produce another one. It probably wouldn't have worked had they stayed on Eyeball.

So, my word is sickness. I think he's had a cold or the flu, and it's just metastasized so that he cannot perform.
And as cool as MCR kareoke would be, I would pay for a ticket to watch anyone but Gerard sing MCR songs.

Mustard, you are right. Warner is the powerhouse, but Reprise is their bitch and unfortunately so is MCR. Eyeball, I have mad love for; but again you are right with regard to them moving onto the next album. But I do wish it would have turned out differently.
I think MCR is strong enough to regain control. Except I do not know the ins/outs of their contract. I only hope they saved their ass somewhere along the way.

Yes, you can. Unless it is otherwise stated in the contract that if sickness were to occur, they could easily back out of the scheduled date.
This isn't your Mom and Pop business. They have you every fucking way you turn. Either way, if their contract states that they are to cancel that particular date 45 days in advance, for example, and they cancel 22 days before the date, they have (forget the legal terminology) "gone against" what's laid out in the contract, sickness or no sickness.
Cancelling dates cost shit loads of money for everyone involved. Had they cancelled the Bon Jovi date...they'd probably had been without a recording contract and management deal with Brian, Brian would have probably gotten fired as well. You can't just decide on a whim to cancel, and if their is sickness or a death, the record label doesn't take sympathy on you. You as the artist work for them, not the other way around.

That's what I was checking RW. Neither of the other two bands, Metropolis and Desmod, are given anything on Pollstar. They...just aren't there. I couldn't even find any sites for them. I just found that this Desmod band has been around since 1996. *shrugs*
Let me just say that my posting was not to try and prove a cancellation. I was only trying to provide some more information. I hope to God nothing is wrong that has made them have to cancel again. I don't want that. I do hope that is like you said RW, that one of the bands had dropped out or they added another. I really, truly hope that's the case.

I used to be a Psychology major. Got into and it made me depressed as fuck. I then turned to the only thing that kept me sane and in one piece. Psychology isn't for the faint of heart, that's for sure. I commend you both on having the strength within you to have completed the courses and obtain degrees.
Okay, you guys are probably going to laugh about this.
So, I kind of gave up on dating and have been really happy with that. Then I started talking to this guy from a website, like, for geeks and we were talking about movies. I saw his picture and I thought he was really good-looking and I told him so. We started emailing pretty frequently. He's like wildly literate and well-spoken (well-written, actually,) and funny and charming and all of that crap that we girls tend to like. And I kinda sorta asked him on a date. Or he asked me, or we mutually decided that we were having enough fun talking about stuff that we should do it in person.
Then I saw a few more pictures of him. The guy ends up being really, really, really, really ridiculously good-looking. I mean like, uhh, kinda Jared Leto level of good-looking. In that sort of, "this dude could date anyone" kind of way. As in, my eyes pretty much popped out of my skull kinda thing.
He's actually seen a few pictures of me--more than I have seen of him--and he still wants to meet up with me.
This can only mean that he's going to kill me. He's some kind of freak who goes around the internet picking up girls and then cutting them into bits to stick into his freezer. (I told my friend about this and we damn-near wrote a song about it: "Ugly Girl Parts In My Freezer.")
OR! the other option, since I've never seen him smile, is that he has absolutely no teeth.
Or he's a crack dealer.
But I still kind of want to go on a date with him. It would just suck if he killed me!
Err, the only other thing I can think of is that my pictures aren't very clear or don't look like me at all, and that when he meets me he's going to be like, "Uhh, yeah, totally not what I expected." Which I guess is a lot better than him killing me, I suppose.

Well to be honest, I've met quite a few guys off the internet before (always in public!) and that's not entirely my main concern. I think you can meet creeps who will kill you in a bar, at a concert, at a dance, at a grocery store. My main concern really is that he's gotta have some other kind of agenda here.

I guess I'm at a level of "ok" with my life, but I'm a fat functional alcoholic (and yes, my husband and kids both know this), I have deep seated issues with my parents that I refuse to talk to them about yet cry about on a regular basis, and evidently the only people I can open up to (beyond my husband, thank goodness he's there) are a group of people on a fictitious celebrity's blog (ok, the celebrity is not fictitious but if this is his blog I will find a hat to eat). Yes, the Mayo Clinic is a good name for this blog. And oh, guess that's my biggest secret from a few nights ago.
Very proud of you Carrie, for having the strength to say that. I think we all have our own issues. I think that's possibly why we've stayed around here. It helps when there isn't much else there.

First of all, okay, let's kill this word "fat," it's an ugly word. I've never really heard the term "functional alcoholic" before, but now that you mention it, I think I know quite a few functional alcoholics. Probably around 80% of the people I hang out with. Are you ready to fight that yet?
I'm also just really sorry about your issues with your folks. That's just a really tough one to work out.

Back, dind't disappear, sorry for the delay. Real life. The anonymous from last night. I want to shed some light, please don't take it the wrong way or to upset you, it's not meant to.
Some of you are asking why Gerard's friends aren't helping him if he's so bad off with the alcohol and drugs. Part of the reason could be because they know in their hearts they can't judge him because most of them are alcoholics too. Yes, Frank is an alcoholic. Ray is an alcoholic. Like someone said earlier, Functioning Alcoholics. You don't have to fall down and stumble and act like an ass to be an alcoholic. They all drink ALOT and regularly. You guys all seem like Taking Back Sunday fans, but guess what, your beloved Adam Lazzara is an alcoholic. Watch him on stage some time.
They are all "Tour Alcoholics" mostly because it's just one of the few things to do on tour. It's not exciting like most people think. It's so boring. You don't get to see that many new places. You spend most of your time traveling and working. It's not easy. Beer and liquor is available to everyone and boredom abounds. You just go and get wasted. Everyone else is.
One of th ebiggest problems with Gerard and one of the differences is that while many of his friends are alcoholics he is DESTRUCTIVE (to other people) and SELF destructive. It is an explosive combination. Most of the other guys will eventually either taper off the drink or just be functioning alcoholics all their lives. But Gerard will always struggle.
If he lives. And his new "companion" isn't helping him, but enabling him. She can drink like a champ.

That makes me really sad. It goes a lot deeper with this guy than just dressing alike. When he was with Eliza, he turned into her, too. He spoke like her ad acted like her, dressed like her and gestured like her.
Now it's easy to see him trying to "be" this new gal. He's trying to act all hardcore and edgy; like he wants to join MSI or something.

What are everyone's plans this evening for Halloween.
I did a pre adult Halloween in New Orleans over the past weekend, ie Vodoo Fest and Dungeon costume party. Had great fun and now fully recovered.
Tonight it is for the kids passing out candy and making a huge pot of Gumbo - yum yum!!!!!
Oh and Halloween cupcakes, too.
Oh and Gerard get a life other than the ones you mimic. You are an artist, right - stop blatenly copying others or are you just another hack!?!
Happy Halloween - My best friend told me her costume was going to be a surprise. First let me say that she isn't a My Chem fan but listens to them for me. Anyway I picked her up this morning as she's dressed as Gerard complete with hole in jeans, Lyn-Z tee and sharpie messages. On her arm is written "Cry For Attention" and on her neck "Love Me" but its backwards cause "he" wrote in in a mirror. IT is so fucking funny.
