I put my fingers in my ears,
and disappear
before you
tell me, tell me
you love me.

Days, dry as dirt
kicked up in heels,
catch in my throat.
I want them back.
Tomorrow, better yet-
today, I will stop
rushing away. The distance
between here and the deserted
has been
forgotten.
Washed up,
I am ready to devour those days.

I am dead in a box in the center of the room talking to everyone or no one can hear me or they neglect to listen because I do not say what they want to hear or I make no sense to anyone but myself because I am only speaking to someone a million miles away from where I am at present they cannot hear me or I make no sense.

I am out of corks
with a barrel full of holes.
The relief will not stop;
resentment pouring and filling
the cracks in the walls,
plaster caked in puke green,
painted over in pink
for all the world to see.

Yay! Anonymeese!

This is miranth if tit doesn't show up under my username.

I appreciate mayo keeping this place open!

I wanted to thank anon616, elena, ergoproxy, TJ and anyone I missed for your words of encouragement when I was going through a rough spell.

Nice to meet you Welshie! Thank you as well.

I no longer work with the elderly and I work with children again so I am much happier. I've also recently moved so I am piggybacking off a neighbor's network and only have sporadic access! lol

Excited about the Night 89x Stole Xmas - just found out a friend got me a ticket after it was sold out- and thought of you guys here so I am going to try to post.

I sincerely hope this works!

hope all of you are well and if you have my email I will try to check it when I have access.

Hope the formation of anonymeese isn't giving too much trouble.

Much love and I remember our laughs tribulations and triumphs,

MIRANTH!!!!!!

So good to see you (and your tit) again.
Great to hear you are doing well and happy.
I had a look at what that show is and it sounds like it'd be a great night, you're so lucky to be going!!
I don't know innerpartysystem but the other 3 are all bands I really like to listen to.

Hope you can call in again, or shoot me an email I'd love to catch up.
xx

I just jumped on when I came in to get my pavlova out of the oven, well it's not out, it's cooling in the oven but finished cooking.
It's going to be raspberry and cherry topped with a few decorative sprigs of our native holly, which has tiny leaves but same shape, for a Xmas party.
Hope to find some when we go down the creek for a swim after DH gets home.
So very hot and humid here today, might even be a storm later, just hopefully not like the super cells that hit down south last 2 days and might again today. Over 200 000 lightning strikes and some hail the size of oranges!! yipes!!

Hope everyone has had a good day/evening/night whatever :]

Hi anon 12:52! Good to see you too!

:)

Now I am on a much posher neighbor's network, but unfortunately I have to watch the most absurd and unfortunate porn while accessing his unsecured network. I don't know how much of this I can laugh at before it loses its amusing qualities.

No joke!

:D

I am trying to give my roommate some time with her relatives who are visiting from other areas of the country for the holidays.

I hope all of you enjoy yours!

Ergo I will look up the other artists while I'm here to check them out now that I know I have general tickets. I wanna mosh if its still allowed! LOL

miranth said...

PS ergo I don't think inner party system is playing this year.

Its more like Sick Puppies and Middle Class Rut - both of which sound like damn good bands!

I haven't heard much of My Chem's new music having had to move house and lots of other changes, but it sounds more old school. Hope I like it live!

PS I may be moving to Ann Arbor within a few months. Right now I am still near the larger lake near Detroit. The winter is pretty harsh here.

I hope the show is good!

Hello everyone

Well I’m back in the land of the living. I had a wonderful time in St Louis but on the way home I started feeling sick. Good thing Flighty was driving because by the time we reached the house the flu had me. I pretty much slept from 4 pm Wed night until this morning. Yuck! But today I’m feeling much better.

Anyway back to St Louis. I can’t begin to say how great it was to see Anima and her hubby. They made Flighty and I feel right at home. And it was so fun hanging out at her bar. The concert was of course fabulous. I couldn’t believe the huge line of fans who actually had lined up since 9 am Tue morning. Good Lord it was freezing out there. I mean I’m a huge fan and all but I wouldn’t have been willing to freeze my nips off like that! It was also wonderful to meet up again with TJ. Just like old times! And boy did all of us have fun after the concert.

But it was good to get home (even though Mr E had to take care of sick me).

Wendy thanks for hoping I’d have a great concert experience. Hope to talk to ya soon.

Also howdy to Welshie, Ergo, Amy, Miss T and wow Miranth. (good to see ya)

Hope I didn’t miss anyone. (Anyone nice that is)

Take care everyone. Hope the holiday spirit is in your hearts and minds.

said the spider to the fly
December 18, 2010 2:06 AM

That's not what the spider said 2:06.

This is.

The Spider and the Fly

"Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly, "
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show you when you are there."
"Oh no, no," said the Fly, "to ask me is in vain;
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."

"I'm sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?" said the Spider to the Fly.
"There are pretty curtains drawn around, the sheets are fine and thin;
And if you like to rest awhile, I'll snugly tuck you in!"
"Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "for I've often heard it said
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!"

Said the cunning Spider to the Fly, "Dear friend, what can I do
To prove that warm affection I've always felt for you?
I have within my pantry, good store of all that's nice;
I'm sure you're very welcome - will you please take a slice?"
"Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "kind sir, that cannot be,
I've heard what's in your pantry, and I do not wish to see!"

"Sweet creature," said the Spider, "you're witty and you're wise;
How handsome are your gauzy wings, how brilliant are your eyes!
I have a little looking-glass upon my parlour shelf;
If you step in one moment, dear, you shall behold yourself."
"I thank you, gentle sir," she said, "for what you're pleased to say;
And bidding good morning now, I'll call another day."

The Spider turned him round about, and went into his den,
For well he knew the silly Fly would soon come back again;
So he wove a subtle web in a little corner sly,
And set his table ready to dine upon the Fly.
Then he came out to his door again, and merrily did sing,
"Come hither, hither, pretty Fly, with the pearl and silver wing;
Your robes are green and purple, there's a crest upon your head;
Your eyes are like the diamond bright, but mine are as dull as lead."

Alas, alas! how very soon this silly little Fly,
Hearing his wily, flattering words, came slowly flitting by;
With buzzing wings she hung aloft, Then near and nearer drew, -
Thinking only of her brilliant eyes, and green and purple hue;
Thinking only of her crested head - poor foolish thing! At last,
Up jumped the cunning Spider, and fiercely held her fast.
He dragged her up his winding stair, into his dismal den
Within his little parlour - but she ne'er came out again!

And now, dear little children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly, flattering words, I pray you ne'er heed;
Unto an evil counsellor close heart, and ear, and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale of the Spider and the Fly.

Stop the presses
Pop-punk group Paramore is losing two of its founding members. The band announced that guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro are leaving.

The announcement led to a lot of noise on the Web. Almost immediately, Web searches for "paramore breakup" and "paramore band splits" surged into breakout status.

The band posted a statement on its official site confirming that the split had been in the works for some time.

"A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere."

ergoproxy said...

I haven't ever watched a Survivor series, I watched a few of the first one, and I watched a few bits of the Australia outback one, which was just funny, as where they were looked pretty much like places we go camping. They did make them do pretty extreme stuff though, and if you aren't used to the heat etc and know what you're doing Oz is a pretty brutal place.
Bear Grylls did one show here once and said it was one of the worst places he'd ever been and conditions could kill you very easily.

Funniest show though was I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, the UK show in Australia.

They told them all these things were dangerous and poor dears, bless them, knew nothing about Oz so they believed it all.

One bit they had to walk across a rope bridge thing above a waterhole in the rainforest and they said there were crocodiles and even had "snipers" on the bank in case anyone fell in and got attacked.
They were terrified!!

Thing is there aren't any crocodiles for miles around there!! It's actually a perfectly safe place to swim and heaps of people go there in the summer to cool off, I've even been there.

But I just digressed a lot ...lol

Shame for Paramore, but if they aren't happy there's no point prolonging it.
I thought Wolfmother's split was funny, only one left was the lead singer!

I have a customer who is a witch. I found out a couple of months ago when I was sick. She asked Fred if she thought it would be okay with me if she did something to help me get better. Fred said she was sure I wouldn't mind. I'm still not really clear on what she did but it had something to do with throwing cheese out a window.

Anyway, the same woman told us today that if you stack up dimes on the left side of all your window sills (make sure not to move them) then you will have wealth in the New Year.

Here it is just rainy again, looks like that will be the norm for Xmas day too, I suppose in a way it's better than swelteringly hot and humid. Might be able to enjoy a cooked lunch for a change.

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ" -Merry Christmas!!

Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind.

Merry Christmas to you 7:19. :)

Here's a beautiful story from CBS' Assignment America that should warm your hearts.

What a completely selfless man this year round Santa is!

He's spent 26 years and all of his savings giving to others in need. Delivering toys, clothes, food
whatever they asked for
to people in need in Appalachian communities. Every day.

I think even Ghandi would like the man named Ronnie Greene. Even if he is a Christian.

A truck driver by trade, Greene made this his full-time mission after he became disabled in a work accident. Since then, his friend Brazo says all he's done is give as only a Santa could.

His wife Kathy is suffering from a liver illness. She spent the last year in and out of hospitals and nursing homes and is now under hospice care.

"You've got to start eating or you're fading away," he told his wife.

If there was ever a reason to not celebrate a holiday - this would be it. If there was ever a time for apathy and despair, - it would be now. And yet Ronnie and Kathy refuse.

"We can still help some people," Kathy said.

Resolute as ever, Ronnie is still taking wishes, and still delivering to people now more fortunate than he is.

Yes. My bottom lip started quivering and I cried like a baby.

What a beautiful, completely selfless man and woman! :)

Anonymous said...

I'm crying again rereading the story.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist

He exists as long as men like Ronnie Greene and women like Kathy Greene walk this Earth.

Hello friends!

So, I have a dilemma! I am currently designing my second tattoo, and I want to get the latin phrase 'Keep the faith' incorporated in my tattoo because it's the saying I have lived by since my brother passed away, and in all honesty, it's almost connected to this blog and My Chem. *blushes*

NOW, I know our trusty blogger, SS, had it on their page as "Pactum Serva" and I believe Frank Iero has it as a tattoo? (Could be mistaken, I haven't discussed MCR in a looong time).

BUT, while googling the phrase so that I am not mistaken and don't have an error on my body forever, I have found it as "Serva Fidem" or "Fidem Serva". In conclusion, HEEEEEELP!

Hi Mayo, Welshie, Ergo, Elena, PP, and Anons. If I missed someone, hi to you too!

Elena, it was my pleasure to make you and Flighty feel at home. I am so happy you could come into town and rock out with me. MCR put on a damn good show. Fun times before/during/after for sure! (I tacked my pass onto my CD insert. No regret, but at least I have a reminder of a lost opportunity.) Sorry to hear you were sick on your way home. My hubby was sick that day too, I ended up working his night shift. I was okay doing it, just a weeee bit hungover. Not fun, but at least I wasn't sick. Happy to hear you are feeling better. :)

Funny that you mentioned Jud (Fabio) won Survivor. It wasn't until the finale last night that we realized he was from St. Louis. Super stoked for the guy. My favorite all along because he wasn't a backstabber. Probably the first that earned the win for just being himself (and several immunity challenges). Nice to see for a change.
Mr. E should go on Survivor. He would give them a run for sure!

And I'm intrigued...What's this with the dimes on the window sill? How many should be stacked? There has to be a magic number.

I've seen two commercials this week with MCR songs. I pointed it out to my husband and he replied, "what do you think about that?" and I replied, "I'm just happy that they are making money doing what they love to do." No comment after that. I think he agrees. Even though both of us believe that big labels are the devil. Hopefully some money is in it for them. Haven't seen the Sims commercial Elena. How much did they change the lyrics?

Hi Paperhearts! So nice to read you. Not sure how to respond, my heart still breaks for your loss...but I'll just put it out there.
My brother just got the latin phrase 'sign of faith' tattooed in honor of my dad. I believe "Faith" was Fidei, but within context its something different. I think you are probably reading two different statements: "Keep the Faith" vs "Having faith." I think Frank's tattoo is definetly the correct version you are looking for.

Hoping someone else will come in and confirm. Good luck my dear. I wish you all the best.

hi PH!

This link may help it's the same question about a tattoo at a Latin Forum!!

here

it appears both are correct, but "serva fidem" is more a command
It is also the motto of the Glascow Academy in Scotland

they also have Latin tattoo phrase discussion

Hope that helps!

Hiya Anima Great to hear about what a fab time you had. Wish I could hang out with you all too.
Hope you and yours have a great lead up to,and Christmas weekend

JocelynHolly said...

Thanks Ladies!

I miss my brother everyday.. and I know I already have one tattoo in honor of him, but this one is not only for the loss of Troy, but the loss of all my loved ones. My sister and I are going after Christmas together, so I am pretty stoked to share the experience with her!

It's 1:30 am here, and I am not tired yet, so I will be wondering around the blogs reminiscing and creeping facebook! So needless to say, I'll be around to talk :)

ergoproxy said...

hey PH I think it's a lovely idea.

From what I have gleaned by google, Serva fidem, means keep the faith as in faith as in to believe, whereas Pactum serva, or serva pactum (in latin word order is not as important), it is more faith as in your personal pact with based on your faith.

So one seems to be to keep believing in general, where the other seems to be more keep true to, or keep believing in yourself, sort of.

But it is really hard to find any more info about the actual translations of the word pactum or fidem and how they differ as
"faith"

JocelynHolly said...

See, now I'm torn. I want it to mean, keep believing in yourself, and life; Everything happens for a reason.

One of my profs at Uni studied Latin, so I was considering emailing him, but I think it might be a bit odd to email him and ask for tattoo help. Haha

Hi Ergo!

I knew someone could help! You are so brilliant. Truly. Elena and I talked about you....hope your ears weren't buzzing about! The show was fantastic. Perfect. One day, I hope we can all enjoy it together.

I wish you and yours a great Christmas too!

PH, you should for sure email your professor. I'm sure he would be happy to help...it might be a nice change of pace for him! ;)

Now I am off to bed.

Goodnight all!

That's really good 3:12!

Similarly,

Sibi Crede - Believe In Oneself

Ipsi Crede - another form of Believe In Yourself

Fidem Conserva - Keep Faith

Pactum Serva = Save the Contract. According to the Cambridge Latin swot I share a roof with, Keep The Faith is quite an extension that many of his teachers would have trouble accepting.

The verb is normally at the end, but the imperative may be placed first if wanting greater emphasis.
All Cs are sharp like Ks
All Vs are Ws

All the best with your Latin quest PH!

Mother mother tell your children
That their time has just begun
I have suffered for my anger
There are wars that cant be won

Father father please believe me
I am laying down my guns
I am broken like an arrow
Forgive me
Forgive your wayward son

Everybody needs somebody to love
(mother, mother)
Everybody needs somebody to hate
(please believe me)
Everybodys bitching
cause they cant get enough
And its hard to hold on
When theres no one to lean on

Faith: you know youre gonna live thru the rain
Lord you got to keep the faith
Faith: dont let your love turn to hate
Right now we got to
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Lord we got to keep the faith

Don't you let your love turn to hate
Lord we gotta Keep The Faith

I been Walking in the footsteps
Of societys lies
I dont like what I see no more
Sometimes I wish that I was blind
Sometimes I wait forever
To stand out in the rain
So no one sees me cryin
Trying to wash away the pain

Mother father

Theres things Ive done I cant erase
Every night we fall from grace

Its hard with the world in your face
Trying to hold on, trying to hold on

Faith: you know youre gonna live thru the rain
Lord you got to keep the faith
Faith: dont let your love turn to hate
Right now we got to keep the faith
Faith: now its not too late
Try to hold on, trying to hold on
Keep the faith

*Comes in singing a Louzianna favorite*

~~Siding on the sides
Washer in the rear
Santa and his reindeer used to live right here!

Here's a Christmas story that you prob'ly didn't know
Like most Christmas stories
happened long time ago

In a renovated double
near Broad and St. Bernard
Lived a fat little little hippie
with some live stock in his yard!

There was elves in and out
A refrigerated van
People thought it was a day care
or a sno~ball stand!

Been a bunch of tennants
been a bunch of years
But Santa and his reindeer used to live right here!

Time Saver saved time,
spent a lot of dimes
Reindeer need a lot of Icees
in the summertime!

Working through the rain,
through Betsy's Hurricane
Wasn't just playin no reindeer games!

Blitzen went to McDonaugh,
Rudolf went to Colton School
It was rough bein reindeer 'fore reindeer were cool!

Dasher went to Warren Easton, Donna went to Sacret Heart
She didn't make the dances but they'd meet in City Park!

Porch in the front, yard in the back
Still got toys in the attic in the sack
Siding on the sides, washer in the rear
Santa and his reindeer used to live right here!!

Sold a little toys, paid a little rent
Made deliveries on the street car, it was only seven cents!

They needed somethin bigger for a bigger operation
Doin lotta Greyhound Waitin At the Station

They were looking at a four-door Oldsmobile
Instead bought a sleigh out the News On Wheels!

Added power-steering,
added power-brakes
Had that sled painted red at Fact~O~Bake!

It would magically propel, (but) park parallel (but)
you know Rudolf,
he don't wanna wear no helmet!

Traffic, weather, "we really wanna stay"
Oh, Santa's pretty tired getting his sleigh towed away!

Ok, you know where they went,
OK you know it's cold up there
Ok, you know it's in the middle of everywhere!

I wanna make it plain, I wanna make it clear

SANTA AND HIS REINDEER USED TO LIVE RIGHT HERE!!!!(rap chorus)
(sing chorus)
(rap chorus)
(sing chorus)
~~

*and high school memories come flooding back*

*waves to Benny Grunch (who played bass with my brother in law (Bre and Jude's dad) during my high school years!*

Excuse my delay in saying HELLO to everyone!!!!

I always have to watch that video (and sing along) again and again and again!

Then, of course, I had to watch/listen to "Ain't No Place to Pee (on Mardi Gras Day!).

I hadn't heard that one in a long time and needed time to pick myself up off the floor after listening to it again!

~~But offither, I thought the sign say "Facility Street"!!!~~

Okay, I suppose you have to be born and bred (or have lived in Louzianna a while) to get that one.

"Felicity Street" is the actual street name!

Anyway, how are you all? Well and good and ready for Santa (or Papa Noel) to come sliding your chimney, I hope!

Paper: *huge hug* I know, love. I know. I hope you're having a wonderful time at "Uni" and I hope your holidays are as Merry and bright as possible.

Anima: I'm so happy to hear you and Elena had such a great time (I know I've said that to Elena already; but, I had not say it to you. I hope all is good in the bar business!

Welshie: Thank you for the apology. That was very courteous. And, of course, I accept! I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday!

MissT: I miss you woman!!! You, your tassels, your snot, the handcuffs... everything! (Ummm, I really miss the key to pink furry handcuffs you gave me for my birthday!) It gets exhausting having to go up and down those stairs everyday just to "feed" and sponge bathe... well, It gets exhausting!

;P

MIRANTH!!!!!!!! Hell woman! I've missed you too! Please come back and tell us all about your live musice experience. Or, e~mail or call me woman. I still have the same number!

I hope you, and all your family, are well! And Cleo too!!!

Hmmm... I know I'm forgetting something...

Oh well!

Have a great night, everyone!!! Sweet dreams to one and all!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

goodnight & sweet dreams

I have done the last of my Xmas shopping.....YAY!!!
Made DH have a "take your daughter to work" day to help him clean up the shed before we close up so I could get the last of her gifts.
No more trips to town and having to put up with people who seem to lose all normal human manners during this period.
WOO HOO!!!
