A mother of a good friend taught me the secret to hers: a good spicy sausage and spinach. I've tried it with a sangiovese ot tempranillo, but they're far too nice to cook with ;)

oh yes, chorizo is really nice in it, as well as italian sausage, never put in spinach though, I may try that next time

and you just have to buy 2 bottles then ;]

I don't know if you use it over there, but there is a phrase to say you're confused which is "I don't know whether I'm Arthur or Martha"

maybe it should be Artha or Martha

mayo,

i'm finding it's more difficult than i thought to jump to another story. i'm not giving up though. i want a creative life.

i know i'm not good about follow-through. i have ideas -- maybe i'm not exactly brimming over with them, but still -- yet i haven't finished a major story.

i don't want to be an almost-writer. i don't want to struggle at this my whole life and then realize at the end i fell short.

i just have to work harder.

the amount of time i've wasted and the unknown amount of time left is what scares me though.

what would have been the point of me even being alive if i don't add at least one book to a library shelf somewhere?

ok, this is a ramble and i'm sorry about that. not really pretty questions for the end of the day, huh?

today was both a lazy day and a hardscrabble day. i wish i was better at this.

anyway, good night, mayo. sweet dreams, and a productive tomorrow.

Mayo
An elderly gent was invited to an old friends' home for dinner one evening.

He was impressed by the way his buddy preceded every request to his wife with endearing terms such as: Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, Pumpkin, etc. The couple had been married almost 70 years and, clearly, they were still very much in love.

While the wife was in the kitchen, the man leaned over and said to his host, "I think it's wonderful that, after all these years, you still call your wife those loving pet names."

The old man hung his head. "I have to tell you the truth," he said, "Her name slipped my mind about 10 years ago and I'm scared to death to ask her what it is!"
Much love EP xx

SS
Abe and Esther are flying to Australia for a two-week vacation to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Suddenly, over the public address system, the Captain announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am afraid I have some very bad news. Our engines have ceased functioning and we will attempt an emergency landing. Luckily, I see an uncharted island below us and we should be able to land on the beach. However, the odds are that we may never be rescued and will have to live on the island for the rest of our lives!" Thanks to the skill of the flight crew, the plane lands safely on the island.

An hour later Abe turns to his wife and asks, "Esther, did we pay our $5,000 PBS pledge check yet?"

"No, sweetheart," she responds.

Abe, still shaken from the crash landing, then asks, "Esther, did we pay our American Express card yet?"

"Oh, no! I'm sorry. I forgot to send the check," she says.

"One last thing, Esther. Did you remember to send checks for the Visa and MasterCard this month?" he asks.

"Oy, forgive me, Abie," begged Esther. "I didn't send that one, either."

Abe grabs her and gives her the biggest kiss in 40 years.

Esther pulls away and asks him, "What was that for?"

Abe answers, "They'll find US!"

Hope everyone has a great day. Take care.

Lol @the people who get all up in arms over the Kindle or the ereader taking the place of actual books.

For most people who use them, they aren't intended to replace books, but to enhance them. They are a convenience. For someone like myself, who reads constantly and travels a lot, my ereader is a godsend.

Anonymous said...

lol @you being so defensive!

Anonymous said...

But don't you understand, 12:32? The "Lovelies" here are CLASSY and literate! They are BIG readers, they are so very very smart, charming, and in love with the written word. And they want Mayo to know all about it too! In fact every second that they are not here at Mayo's, they are out there reading first editions. Even when they are at Mayo's they are in his library of first editions, climbing the oak ladder to reach the rarest of books and then huddling around the fireplace where Mayo can see them, just to make sure he knows how literate, charming and classy they are.

No need for gadgets and fads for these "lovelies", the written word and paper is precious (not as precious as Frank / SS though)....

In fact even when they are spending hours posting here, they are still "huggling" an old book or two.

And Mayo damn well better notice that!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

PS I really don't mind if people like books and hate the eReader, but the pretentiousness of the people here blows me away.

Anonymous said...

LOL, I'm not even convinced Amyranth has ever cracked open a book, unless "Modern Bride" counts as a book.

And as far as MJ reading ..... Uhhhm yeh.

Anonymous said...

12:56, I'm sure Amyranth does read. Maybe not War and Peace, Northanger Abbey or Shakespeare .... but maybe Twilight or something. I can see her getting into that.

Kind of agree about MJ though.....

Anonymous said...

lol @you desperate for the attention of mayo and ss.

sad that the only way you have to seek that attention is to ridicule others.

maybe you can enhance your imagination by reading a good book...

Anonymous said...

For me, the ereader replaces the paperback. I have this thing. I don't take my hardback books with me on trips and I am so very, very careful with them; if they get the least bit dog-eared or worn looking I freak out. So, I usually buy two copies of books I love.

Now I can take my ereader on trips and not bother with a paperback. It's great.

Anonymous said...

I've not read Northanger Abbey. Is it good? I do like Jane Austen.

Not many people can get through War and Peace. Tolstoy's characterizations are great, but all of the details about the war bog the story down, in my opinion. I flew through the parts dealing with Russian society and slowed to a crawl during the military parts.

As for Twilight... *shudders*. I had a really fun time reading the back cover of the first book at the book store once. Something about the "impenetrable Edward Cullen." What a hoot. I think that's about as far into Twilight as I care to get.

Anonymous said...

I liked Northanger Abbey and I really only used War and Peace as an example. I'm sayiing I really don't see someone like Amyranth reading high literature but she probably does read some books. Twilight is very popular and it seems like her kind of "literature". I think the whole "I love books so much" from her is pretentious, an affectation. I really can't see her being a deep person or a big reader, but pretending to be.

Anonymous said...

lol @you desperate for the attention of mayo and ss.

Do you really think Mayo or SS read all the comments here? Jeez, I can't imagine anyone having the time to sit down and wade through all of the "Hi. How are you?" "I'm fine. I just brushed my teeth and now I'm going to floss." type convos that go on here.

I don't think anyone is getting Mayo's or SS's attention, certainly not a lowly anon such as myself... or you either, for that matter.

Anonymous said...

Most of the regulars here seem to me like they would be either into mystery novels or gothic romance. Fun, but not exactly highbrow literature. But yes, there is quite a bit of pretentiousness that runs through the blog.

As far as War and Peace goes, I only know two other people besides myself who have read it and one of them was a Russian major in college. I do recommend it and someday I think I might read it again (apparently I have a masochistic streak, lol).

Of course, people always think I'm being pretentious when I say I've read it, but hey, I have an ereader. That probably cancels out having read War and Peace. Lol.

Anonymous said...

Yes, with the ereader you can't SMELL War and Peace and you can't HUG it, LOL! Because that's what books are for. It's not about the words and what you get out of it. It's about going on a blog and talking about your love for paper.

I haven't read War and Peace either but I have read much and I try to stay away from "trend" writing but I don't feel like listing my likes and dislikes, I'm sure no one cares.....

1:07 now how or why would an anon get Mayo's attention or want it? Is Mayo going to go "oh those anons, I love them more than the "lovelies" so I'm giving them all my attention"!! How can we get his attention as anons? And don't you think if we wanted Mayo's attention or approval we would use a name so he could address us? I like my nameless quality here, I like being a nobody. I don't have anything to prove to Mayo but I do find some of the other anons nice.

Anonymous said...

I don't have anything to prove to Mayo but I do find some of the other anons nice.

and what qualities do you admire in these nice anons?

Anonymous said...

Willingness to chat and NOT for the benefit of Mayo for one thing. And a lack of pretentiousness.

Anonymous said...

i am certain Dickens, Austen and Shakespeare were not considered highbrow literature (lol) when they were written.

it is sad that you have bought into the concept of highbrow literature (lol-sorry, it just cracks me up).

pretty gullible and shallow if you ask me.

Anonymous said...

Why are some of you unsigned in regulars so immediately defensive when a real anon says they like talking to anons, and don't immediately have their noses up a signed in regular's ass?

Wait, I think I just answered my own question.

Anonymous said...

Personally for me, I find that anons are talking to anons because they want to. Not to say "Mayo and SS, look at me, I can be nice to anons" and not because they think there's an off chance that you might BE Mayo and SS. Its like the nice anons, have nothing to prove to anyone. But the signed in ones really just do it to make a point or because they think you're a rock star. That's how it feels to me.

Anonymous said...

it is sad that you have bought into the concept of highbrow literature (lol-sorry, it just cracks me up).

Obviously, you misunderstood the context in which the term highbrow was brought up. Nobody was criticizing the people here for not reading War and Peace. I simply meant that they weren't exactly "highbrow" in their choice of reading material so there was no reason for them to act that way when it came to the ereader -- which they did, by the way.

Anonymous said...

Willingness to chat

i don't see much general chat over the past year-it is mainly anons ridiculing regulars and others attempting to balance what is being said.

hardly chat, although it would be nice to see some anon chat, it was often more fun than the blues back in the day.

Anonymous said...

I personally have been having a very enjoyable conversation here today. It has nothing to do with Mayo or SS.

Oh, and I got a book recommendation (Northanger Abbey) out of it. :D

Anonymous said...

You know, when anons say something that blues don't like, the blues generally let them know.

Is there some double standard here that prevents anons from doing the same to blues?

Anonymous said...

i don't see what can be considered enjoyable as you are ridiculing others.

do you find ridicule a source of enjoyment?

just interested.

Do the people at this blog consume your whole life? My God, how much time do you spend defending them?

Anonymous said...

I was discussing literature and the ereader. I simply made the comment that people who get all "Oh noes! The end of books!" because of the ereader or Kindle were overreacting and being a bit silly.

Of course, here you are, calling that "ridiculing others" and totally overreacting yourself. Are you always so sensitive?

Anonymous said...

Anyway, this has been fun and has consumed a part of my day that otherwise might have been boring (lull at work). But now I have things to do.

Thanks for the Northanger Abbey rec, anon.

Anonymous said...

it's not being sensitive.

you have attempted to ridicule Amyranth and Martha Jones and also suggest that people here are not into highbrow (lol, kills me every time) literature.

i am just wondering if it is not possible to present your opinion without denigrating others?

oh, and 2:57-faux hysteria and attempts to denigrate me will not work.

still just interested.

Anonymous said...

You're welcome, like I said it was a good book and one of Austin's better ones. At least IMO. I enjoyed the chat too. :)

Anonymous said...

surely you mean Austen?

tut, tut, tut!

Anonymous said...

oh, and 2:57-faux hysteria and attempts to denigrate me will not work.

Because you are on a mission to defend the lovelie's honor and you will not be dissuaded! You crack me up. Faux hysteria, indeed.

Anonymous said...

3:08, I am a different anon and I do not think that other anon was trying to denigrate you in any way. I think the whole "faux hysteria" comment was your way of deflecting a reasonable point.

Anonymous said...

oh, a different anon (yeah, right!)

what exactly was this reasonable point? i have not actually defended anybody. i have only questioned the behaviour of those i have been speaking with...

Anonymous said...

Seriously, anon. Why not let the "lovelies" defend themselves? You aren't really helping them you know. You just make yourself look like some crazy stan with an obsession. Sorry if you think that I'm denigrating you, but I'm just speaking the truth.

Anonymous said...

You just make yourself look like some crazy stan with an obsession.

This is true. I can imagine her face getting redder and redder as she pounds on her keyboard. "Faux hysteria!" Lol.

Anonymous said...

Oh now I get it, everyone must be the same anon to you. There is no possibility it may be someone else.

Anonymous said...

well i see you kids are too highbrow for me!

lol

Anonymous said...

What is it about the term highbrow that bothers you so much anon? It would have been an insult had the other anon said that the regulars here had highbrow tastes in literature. Highbrow is generally regarded as being snobbish and pretentious. The anon already said that you misintepreted her comment. Go back and read it. She wasn't praising saying that "highbrow" is a good thing.

Anonymous said...

I think the defending anon paints all anons with the same brush.

Anonymous said...

Well defending anon is probably a reg. And you know they don't like true anons because true anons don't kiss their asses.

Anonymous said...

The funniest part of all of this is going to be when all the blues "come back" as if they were never gone, and pretend like they've ignored the entire conversation when in fact they took a big part of it.

"Oh we are above talking about that stuff, look, it never even happened,".... when in fact it was one of them.

Anonymous said...

*"As if they WERE gone" not "as if they were never gone".

Anonymous said...

3:56

Why should anyone comment on your conversation? It's been and gone and was not at all interesting.

Why do you need attention so much?

Anonymous said...

Either that or Elena will make some ridiculous chastising remark, "Oh you silly, Anon. Of course we don't blah, blah."

So very, very predictable.

Anonymous said...

Not that you "should" comment on "the conversation" but that you are. It's so insincere when you come on later like you missed the whole thing and pretend to ignore it. It's silly.

And like 4:00 said, predictable.

Anonymous said...

Well apparently you are interested, 4:00.

And just because you started capitalising doesn't automatically prove that you're a different "defending anon."

LOL. We might just start painting you with the same brush too.

Anonymous said...

well i see you kids are too highbrow for me!

What do you anons get out of this? I'm really curious.

Anonymous said...

Partly I come here out of habit. The honest truth is sometimes I find the drama entertaining. That might be immature or whatever but there it is.

One thing I can say in my defense is that even if I ever gave in to the drama and spoke my mind about certain things here (like the gangrape of certain "skull and crossbone" LOL!) people and maybe called some people on their bullshit, not once did I ever go out to really hurt someone. Not once did I ever try to find out someone's real name. post their junk, get them fired, google them, or generally act evil and insane. I never got into anyone's real life. Never even discussed anyone's real life. Just their behavior towards others and that kind of bullshit.

Do I think that makes me a slightly better person......? Yes, yes I do.

I sometimes think that many of the nasty comments towards some of the remaining blues are from the other blues themselves, pretending to be "family" but then selling each other out anonymously at every corner so that they can look better in the eyes of Mayo and SS.

Good Morning Ergo. Still raining? It was cloudy here all day but so far no rain.

The only thing I want to add to the previous conversation is this.. As someone who sells books for a living it shouldn’t be hard to understand that I’m less than thrilled with ereader or Kindles. Sure they are very convenient for someone traveling. I get that. However it isn’t that hard to believe that for many these will become the norm over time. They will no long purchase actual hold-in-your-hand books. When I opened my store over 20 years ago I also sold new books. Then Wal-Mart moved right up the street and because of the huge discount they receive from publishers they could discount more than I could ever possibly do. I gave up trying to sell more than a handful of new books each month. And another small bookstore in our town simply closed. So I chose to devote most of my store to used, out-of-print and rare books. And though I can count at least 20 small bookstores in the KC area that have gone out of business these past 20 years I’m still holding on. I also sell through Amazon, mostly books that would never find an audience in my store. However now when I list a book on the site there is that little Kindle box showing people that they really don’t need to order the book. Nice, and this from a site I pay money to each month on top of their commission for each sale. Times are changing that I understand. My hope is that there will be enough people like me who truly love books. I love the smell; I love the artwork on the cover. I love the weight of the book in my hand. But will there be enough of these people to keep my small business going? Ten years ago this wasn’t a worry at all. Now each day it becomes more and more a nagging feeling of doom.

Oh and as for what I read – I read for entertainment. I want to get lost in a good story. I don’t want to read something depressing (so no to most Oprah books) if I want to be depressed I can turn on the news. Okay not all Oprah books I found Million Little Pieces very entertaining though dark, I love Pillars of the Earth and East of Eden.

I adore books as well, Elena and I can absolutely relate to your story about your bookstore. A family friend owned the most wonderful bookstore back in the early nineties: one of those places with nooks and crannies and delightful surprises for those who wanted to spend hours browsing. They had story time on Saturdays and Wednesdays for young children and my daughter adored it.

Amazon put her out of business.

But I have a Kindle and I use it for magazines and traveling. I will never, ever give up books. Like you, I love the smell, the look, the fact that I can touch it and hold in in my hand. The Kindle will be reserved for light summer reading and for use as a portable way to read books that I love and for which I already own a hard copy.

I can see the value of students having all their texts on one to save the weight. But there are already reports from schools trialling it that they have major tech issues.
If they get all that ironed out, and bring down the price so all students can afford it, it would be a huge bonus in a case like that too.

Ep I don't think the ereaders having tech issue should be that big of a deal. When most text books are so out dated they don't have current info in them.. Some of the new ones have wrong info. With an ereader you just update the thing with very little cost to the school.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

hello 6.43

ergoproxy said...

I certainly will elena!

I have so many books I like it's hard to name any specific ones, But I do really like one named Sigmet Active, about a sentient thunderstorm that resulted from an experiment shooting a laser into the atmosphere.
It's no classic, but the story is just so much fun to read

Anonymous said...

I love all of Fannie Flagg's books. Her characterisation is sublime.

elena said...

6:43 it is titled World Without End. And I have to admit I was hoping you'd read it and could tell be something about the story. LOL I keep meaning to get to it because I loved Pillars so much but just haven't found the time.

ergoproxy said...

MJ I mean tech issues as they stop working, or scramble data, or battery issues. Like computers do.
Schools unfortunately don't always have much money to spare on stuff like that.
And teaching a class with tech stuff when time has to be spent trying to get everyone's working, fix problems during the class etc means less time for actual teaching.
Big, wealthy or well funded schools have the means, smaller lower socio-economic area schools don't.
They are new technology so prone to problems, which if they can work out will mean they could be a huge plus, seeing as they can be updated so easily, but most texts don't get updated that often, unless it's history.

and seeing as someone has developed the first iPhone virus, that'll end up being an issue as well, as people do stuff just to fuck things up
(haha not to mention having to check students don't have anything else loaded into the ereader, it's the 2000's version of hiding a Playboy in your bag, only so much easier and more graphic)

elena said...

Fannie Flagg is great. Oh and my friend Fred...her sister is friends with Fannie.

You know how there are some books that you feel you should read. Well, Catch-22 was on my list.

I bought the book and saved it to read whilst on holiday.

I sat on the plane and began to read. We were in the air only 20 minutes when the oxygen masks dropped down. Have never experienced such silence on a plane. We were terrified.

The plane had to return to the airport and as it touched down fire engines escorted it on both sides of the runway until it stopped.

I never picked that book up again and never will!

Anonymous said...

How many Gerard posters are in your store, Elena?

6:57 said...

Oh Elena-it's a small world. Fannie Flagg is my favourite feel good author.

I bet she is lovely. She seems to have had an interesting life.

elena said...

7:04 I don't blame you. LOL I'm not sure I would pick it up again.

7:04 Gerard posters? I guess you mean MCR right? There are several also Johnny Depp as Capt Jack, The Ramones, Spike from Buffy, and of course everyones fav is David Bowie from Labyrinth. There are also antique A Fox prints oh and above the animal section I even have a pair of those funky cats with the big eyes LOL

Anonymous said...

How many Gerard posters were on your wall 7:07?

How many MCR t-shirts did you own?

Did buy their calenders? Magazines featuring MCR?

ergoproxy said...

7:04 that must have been so scary!

Anonymous said...

It was very scary, Ergo. It is so easy to ignore the safety features talk before take off cos you think it won't happen to you.

When the masks dropped there was nothing from the cockpit. For a minute I thought a switch had tripped and I continued reading (in denial). I looked behind me and saw an air hostess sitting there with mask on and I thought-oh shit!

I had visions of my mother listening to the news and hearing that the plane was down!

Thankfully it ended well but I have always associated that with Catch-22. Illogical I know, but still...

Anonymous said...

7:14 you talk like MCR and Gerard as if their time have already pasted away. I own 15 shirts (1 that I slep in) one bulletproof vest 5000++ hot photos 1 calender couple of records ever issue of TUA and more memories then I could ever write down into words.

I hope she has another one out soon.

ergoproxy said...

7;04 associations like you just cannot shake, shame, as it is a good book, but I'm sure you can manage without it, I think not being able to read one book is a very good outcome, considering what the alternative could have been.
Very glad you were that lucky

elena said...

7:04 maybe you could read Something Happened by the same author. Just don't try it on a plane!

elena said...

I hope she has another out soon too anon. Some authors you just want to write as quick as they can while others you think "oh damn, another book all ready"

Anonymous said...

Elena

I really think I will just give Joseph Heller a miss.

Ergo that sounds lovely but I'm enjoying a Starbucks Verona at the moment.

elena said...

I really think I will just give Joseph Heller a miss.

Don't blame you!

7:14 said...

At least 7:07 answered the questions. Most don't. Kudos to them for that.

ergoproxy said...

mmmm, well I had a choice of that or Verona,(thanks to you and TJ) but this one is almost like a cafe latte, without needing to be made on milk, in the cold it's like a soft warm blankie

Anonymous said...

7:14 - Zero. Not one.

It was just a question and the question wasn't even directed at you.

Chill the fuck out.

elena said...

Ergo now it is raining here. I think you sent it. LOL

7:07 said...

That wasn't me answering those questions. Sorry.

7:14 said...

Impressive merchandise list 7:23. I hope you enjoy that merchandise for years to come. New merchandise as well.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

That is also what I was talking about EP.

Yes, you can have issue with the power or even a virus but they can be fixed. In some cases they can even be avoided. I think saying that it has a tech issue and therefore we shouldn't use it is bullshit.

You have to have an IT team at work because you can tech issue there. Tech issues are a part of life now and kids and teachers will have to learn how to deal with them. Have a back up plan for the possibility something might not work right.

ergoproxy said...

yep, and the plan is normal text books, big schools have IT staff, smaller schools don't and you misunderstand, I'm not saying not to use them, I'm saying there seem to be major issues at the moment in schools that have trialled them, that I hope they'll fix, and the cost is beyond many people and schools at the moment, if that can change I'm sure they will be incredibly useful.
Definitely better than poor kids having to lug around massive texts.

7:14 said...

The not answering questions

or not answering without an attitude

continues. No kudos for 7:07.

Kudos for 7:16 & 7:23.

7:07,
Why is it ok for you to ask Elena a question but not ok for me to ask you a few questions?

No one told you to chill the fuck out when you asked your question.

Odd.

Are you that sensitive or just that rude?

That was just a question 7:07.

Anonymous said...

Who asked who or whom or what?

ergoproxy said...

did you see the film of the domino walls they put up on Berlin to signify the fall of the wall and the strides ahead since? I think it looked really effective

elena said...

Nope Ergo I didn't see that. Do you have a link?

7:14 said...

Who's on first? What's on second? I don't know's on third!

Are you the manager?
;)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Or the learning plan could be how to fix your ereader.

How am I to take it when you bring up tech issue as if they are some new thing just because schools have to deal with it now.

I bet if you let some of them, those kids could have those ereaders up and running. Most of them have cell phones, iPods and computers that might have had the same problem as the ereaders.

ergoproxy said...

I'll have a look, hang on

Those who don't like Gerard Way should not click this link. It may kill them or at least cause them to blow a few fuses.

Those who do still like Gerard Way
Enjoy.

What follows is an adventure through time, Heaven, the Vietnam War and a diner with the best apple pie. Way has crafted a tale that surpasses his original outing.

The biggest standout of Way’s writing is his strong grasp on his characters. Way has created the strongest batch of newest characters in all of comicdom.

They also are putting up memorials to the people who were killed trying to escape, 136 of them.Including Peter Fetcher 18, who was shot and no one helped him as they both thought the other side would shoot them
but amazing tales of escape, an underground train driver Harry Deterling got 24 friends and family and drove the train full speed through the barrier, one family made a hot air balloon!!
The feelings of the families and friends separated from each other overnight, all those years ago, In 5 hours their lives changed for 38 years.

That's a really weak & frankly embarrassing argument for Kindle & *against the lovelies, anon.

Don't you recycle? Haven't you heard or weren't you told about books printed on 100% recycled paper?

I suppose there's no wood in your home. No wooden frame, walls, floors, furniture.

I would have to give you a D- in debate. You did try so I wouldn't flunk you or call your argument epic fail.

*Because that's what it really is, isn't it.

hello Amy, no haven't heard from her yet.
How are you?

That's funny 10: 14 because even greenesperience and other places urge others to use the library instead of buying books.

http://www.ebookreaderguide.com/2009/10/07/eco-friendly-kindle/

http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/kindle_more_ecofriendly_then_books

It's a break-even if your kindle replaces only 22.5 books.

But I guess everything is an "attack on the LOVELIES" OH NOES!!! to you.

On October 29, 2009, Gaul's most famous denizon, Asterix, celebrated his Lth birthday.

It is immensely entertaining, I agree on that.

I disagree on Amyranth being "high-brow" or even sounding pretentious. Maybe she tries but she strikes me as someone who reads a lot of magazines, watches Oprah and consideres herself "cultured".

I'm doing good thanks TJ

Hey Ergo!

I was just hoping she'd heard about that job. I got good news on mine, so I hope she got some good news too.

How was your day?

Hey Teej! Asterix's birthday? I didn't even realize he celebrated one. Is it the creator's first publishing date, or an actual written-into-the-story date?

toujours said...

hi amyranth! first publishing date, it would a whole heckalot more l's and v's and i's if it were the historical date. lol

my day was really good, ergo. i had the place to myself, and spent it doing what i liked. :)

Hi guys. Amy, no news until Wednesday. Tell us your good news pwetty please?

Ahhh 11:15...

9:04's argument mentioned nothing about the pro green living arguments of greenexperience.

Their argument was

I like knowing that I'm not killing trees because I like the smell of books.

Now, who said they liked the smell of books. I believe a few of the lovelies did.

But I guess everything is an "attack on the LOVELIES" OH NOES!!! to you.

(Completely inaccurate quote, btw.)

So yes. Their argument was a weak and embarrassing pro Kindle/anti lovely argument.

Would like to answer some of my questions? Here. I will repeat them for you if you are a different.

Don't you recycle? Haven't you heard or weren't you told about books printed on 100% recycled paper?

I will reword these in question form for you.

Is there no wood in your home?
No wooden frame, walls, floors, furniture?

And add a few more.

Will you never purchase another piece of wooden furniture again?

Will you bring all of the books you already own to a recycling plant and never purchase another book printed on paper again?

Will you never purchase another magazine, newspaper, notebook, journal again?

Will you or won't you print out another picture of your family or fill photo albums with print pictures of your loved ones?Don't you recycle? Haven't you heard or weren't you told about books printed on 100% recycled paper?

toujours said...

hi bc, keeping my fingers crossed for you. :)

Tsk tsk. Misquoting me again and missing the original argument which did include the words I like knowing that I'm not killing trees because I like the smell of books.

Those words were said by whom, anons?

That's right. They were said by a few of the lovelies.

I'm going to have to go ahead and give you an F in debate. I think you need to be sent back a grade or 2 as well. Or off to bed because I'm sure it's past your bedtime.

For the record nowhere did I use the word attack. However it does seem to be one of your favorite words.
