Burning the Manual

I have righted myself before you.
Pulled the knife out of my wound,
And shoved it back in yours.
Like you knew I would.
Like you knew I could.
Before I ever had a name
You knew it was there,
Everything for you
And you know it, and I
Know it still, the same.

p.s. who is driving who or...what?

hey there everyone --

i peeked in earlier and saw j.'s questions, so made a quick c&p of them and have been answering them off and on through the day. *sneaky*

here are my answers. :)

1. What was your best subject in school? Your worst?
art, and...geometry. (ugh, proofs.)

2. Favorite color.
green.

3. Dog or cat?
cats. :3

4. How many scars do you have, and how did you get them?
i've never counted them.

5. What is your favorite holiday and why?
candlemas -- i love the solemnity and the hopefulness of it. there's something invigorating about starting out fresh every year.

6. If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be?
there are so many people from history that would be neat to meet and find out what they were really like (like king john, for example. no way he was as bad as they always depict him in the movies), and authors to meet and talk to, i honestly can't decide. i've been thinking about this one all day!

7. Describe yourself in three words.
silly, serious, and distractable

8. What do you notice first in someone you are attracted to?
eyes, hands

9. Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex? (Family doesn't count!)
nope.

10. What is your favorite book, and why?
gah. always so difficult to say just one! but i love "a room of her own" by virginia woolf. i read that and get lost in her effortless skill with the language.

11. What is your hidden talent?
i can whistle really, really well.

12. Have you ever seen a ghost?
nope.

13. What did you want to grow up to be?
a writer (my fall-back career was being a sleuth).

14. What is Love to you?
cherishing someone, and feeling so comfortable in their presence that you feel no need to hide anything about yourself, not even the weirdest little quirk.

15. Can you touch your nose with your tongue?
nope. and now my upper lip is wet. :/

16. Describe your first kiss.
in college, he asked if he could, and i shot back with "why?" -- after a quarter hour of discussion, we kissed, as clumsy as hell. the second one was better. ;)

17. Creamy or smooth peanut butter?
creamy and smooth.

18. What is your favorite movie and why?
difficult to pick just one, but "my neighbor totoro" has always been a favorite. it reminds me of the straight-forward magic of childhood, and usually leaves me wanting to draw!

19. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
i usually say england, but i think some place new would be cool, too, so: japan.

20. What three words would your Mum use to describe you?
creative, independent, smart.

time to close up shop -- see you guys tonight! thanks for the questions, j. -- that was fun. :)

ciao!

The taxi driver shouted to her out of the window, 'You stupid cunt!'. Dame Judi responded with, ”That's Dame Cunt to you!”

Now THAT is awesome. Own that word and it can't own you.

Original Punk L said...

Hello, everyone, how's it going?

I love Dame Judi! She is such a cool lady. That was a great retort she had.

Ergo, you can crack a whip in each hand? I'm impressed! Danger Hand best watch out!

TJ, did you watch a lot of Nancy Drew or The Hardy Boys when you were young? Maybe you can still give it a go. All you need is a spy glass, trench coat and a hat. Don't think you would look good with the Sherlock pipe, though.

Hey, Amy, how's it going?

Hello also to Mayo, S.S., Miss T., Wendy, Anima, Mya, Martha, Elena, Lewis, Jade, m., Bubbles, Jennicula, B.C., Cupcake, anons, lurkers, passerbys, and anyone else I missed.

L.

ergoproxy said...

hello L!!

how are you? I am busy catching up on housework before we head to the show later don't know how I did yet

and Dangerhand doesn't need to watch out, he taught me, and he is much much better, can do all that crack paper out of your mouth and stuff, so I don't mess with him.
(oh I can do a whip in each hand alternately too, and I only hit myself occasionally, lol)

Original Punk L said...

Hey Ergo! Have a great time today, and good luck again. Do you guys have blue ribbons, or something else?

Wow, I AM impressed with Danger Hand. A regular Indiana Jones! And his wife, Ergoiana Jones!

I love reading all the answers from the questions. I think J. is going to put hers up too tonight. Wendy pointed out to me that I had wrote "Creamy or smooth" for the peanut butter question. They're different, right? :)

L.

Original Punk L said...

J. says "Hello!" by the way. She's been cleaning too tonight. I have a load of laundry I need to do, so I will be right back.

hello to J!!

there is a ribbon for champion, it's purple with gold fringing and then little certificates for champion(purple) 1st (blue)2nd (red) and 3rd(white)
some categories have highly commended and commended too
and there is a little bit of prize money, $8, $4 and $2

ugh... laundry, that is what I've been doing all morning, kinda let it pile up a tad

i just caught up on the comments, and only now realized i wrote "j." instead of "l." -- ever single time!

*facepalm*

*headdesk*

i'm so sorry, l. -- i swear i really did know it was you! my only excuse is that i was typing at lightning speeds in order to get it posted before i had to close up.

d'oh.

it was a cool test, though, i had fun with it. :)

hi ergo, still aorund?

hows things?

things are not too bad, ergo. actually, i keep thinking about mychem at the roxy tonight...i'm excited to think they are back from break!

wish i could've been there, though. it would have been cool to be at the last show before the break and then the first show back.

*sigh*

oh well. soon enough!

Original Punk L said...

Hey Amy, TJ. How's it going?

Amy, you can't just leave us with "long story"! Spill, woman.

TJ, that's ok, we kinda morph into each other anyway! :)

Ergo, in the catagories for highly commended and commended we call it honorable mention.

Kinda like what Eddie Izzard would say about horse races where they tell you so and so was first, who was second and third, and then "5 ran" meaning every other horse in the race. He said no one walks around saying, "yes, I know, but how many RAN?"

ergoproxy said...

it would be good to see how they are after the break, it's been a while, hopefully they'll be refreshed and give a great prformance

Original Punk L said...

I know, TJ, I'm excited about the guys going back out on tour too, especially with a new album! We should see footage from the show tonight soon. The wonders of YouTube...

toujours said...

you're kind to forgive me, l.

and how are you doing? it's good to see you here. :)

i'll have to wait for the vids until tomorrow...but you know i'll be on the computer at work up until the very minute i have to clock in!

Original Punk L said...

I'm doing really good, thanks! I have been working on eating healthy (I did really good right after I got out of the hospital, but I shot that a month or so ago) and I'm managing to stay with it.

I try to cook healthy anyway (grilling, olive oil, lots of veggies, etc.) but I'm just paying more attention to portions and carbs. And no snacking after dinner unless blood sugars are on the way down!

ergoproxy said...

J that reminded me of this, you heard it?

William Tell Overture

SPIKE JONES

It's a beautiful day for the race
Stooge Hand is the favorite today
Assault is in there
Dog Biscuit is 3 to 1
Safety Pin has been scratched
Ya ya
And at 20 to 1 ... Beetlebomb

Now the horses are approaching the starting gate
And there they go!!
And it's Stooge Hand going to the front
Cabbage is second on the rail
Beautiful Linda is third by a length
And ... Beetlebomb

Around the first turn
Stooge Hand is still in front
Cabbage is second by a head
Cabbage by a head
Beautiful Linda is third
and ... Beetlebomb

Into the back stretch
Dog Biscuit is now leading the pack
Lady Evelyn is second, very close
Banana is coming up through the bunch
Banana coming up through the bunch
And ... Beetlebomb
At the half
Stooge Hand still out in front
Apartment House is second with plenty of room
Assault is passing Battery
Assault and Battery
Notary Sojac is fourth
And in last place by 10 lengths
I believe it is, yes it is ...
Beetlebomb

Around the turn heading for home
It's Stooge Hand and Dog Biscuit
And Girdle in the stretch
Flying Sylvester is third
And Mother-In-Law nagging in the rear
Oh oh oh

And now they come down to the wire
And it's number one
And now number two
And it's very close
There'll need to be a photo finish
Or an oil painting
And now Louis leads with a left
And Louis is in there slugging
And it's a battle
And now they're tearing hair
There's hair all over the ring
There's hair all over the place
I don't know whose hair it is, ah ah
It's mine
And there goes the winner ...

Beetlebomb

ergoproxy said...

that's good, l.! taking a new approach to your food and what you do with it, being more conscious of what and how you are eating -- it has so many benefits beyond just the nutritional ones. you feel better about yourself because you get to participate in your meals with delight, you know?

i hope you're really enjoying it! :)

ergo, i've heard that! i didn't know i had heard any spike jones.

Original Punk L said...

I'm lucky that I love veggies, so it's not a big deal to make sure I eat well. I was the weird kid who actually LIKED veggies.

Except brussels sprouts. I have a sincere dislike for those.

Original Punk L said...

Amy, you still about?

toujours said...

*heh* i actually love brussel sprouts. yum! back when i was first divorced, when i had some extra money, i would buy brussel spouts and carrots and roast them -- it was a treat!

ergoproxy said...

I remember hearing it as a kid, maybe my dad had it on vinyl, I don't know, It is on youtube, the old guy doing the actions in this is funny too, the way he says "Beetlebomb" is just classic

that and Stewball Was a Racehorse, by Peter Paul and Mary

good on you with the cooking too L, I am not big on veges, but I do eat them, I just usually forget about cooking them , lol
brussel sprouts have to be small, fresh and just cooked tender or they go bitter
you can though shred them and sauté them in olive oil and garlic and they taste very good

toujours said...

oooh, that sounds interesting, ergo! i might try that method, too.

ergoproxy said...

I have never roasted them TJ! Must try that.
I do roast carrots sometimes and onions with potato and sweet potato and if I cook them I sauté them in oil rather than boil them, they go much sweeter and I think are a whole lot nicer than boiled

the one vege I really don't like is pumpkin, unless it's in soup
(we don't have pies)

Original Punk L said...

Ergo,

That video was frightning. Like the song, but the strange man scared me!

Original Punk L said...

You don't make pumpkin pie? What do you usually make? I love pecan pie, but can't have the nuts now.

toujours said...

i'm trying to think of any other way i've had pumpkin...but we usually do seem to bake it up in a pie. hmmm.

but i love sweet potatoes, they are one my most favorite vegetables, and the other one i'd buy to give myself a treat! having one baking in the oven was a feast all on its own.

Original Punk L said...

Ooo, sweet potatos! Mum usually bakes them and puts butter and brown sugar on them. Yum!

Original Punk L said...

Think I'm going to head out for the night, getting sleepy.

Good night and sweet dreams, Ergo, TJ, Amy.

Love ya,
L.

toujours said...

i know! even without the brown sugar, they're like candy!

ergoproxy said...

normal pies would be apple or other fruit, pavlova is made a lot YUM!, cheesecake, caramel tart and other types of cakes

pumpkin pie isn't made at all, and pecan pie only really became popular the last 10 or so years
we also generally don't do waffles or pancakes as breakfast food, you can get them but it's not really a thing here.

toujours said...

good night, l., it's been very good getting to chat with you, and the test kept me occupied all day!

sweet dreams. :)

Original Punk L said...

Mayo,

One day we'll all figure it out. And if we don't, well, that's ok too. As long as we all know who we really are.

Good Night, Mayo. Sweet dreams.

mayo,

one of the things i love about the internet is the way it allows you to be a part of something that you would not otherwise be able to.

waiting for the pics of mychem from onstage at the roxy tonight, exchanging excited comments at twitter with my friend from the msg show last year, made it feel almost like we were side-by-side on the barrier again, waiting for the band to make their appearance. i couldn't be at the roxy tonight, but i was able to taste a little of the excitement and energy of the evening all the same.

it really is a bit like magic. *grin*

Changing the subject quite drastically here, but...

INSOMNIA FOR THE MOTHER F***IN' LOSS!

*boo, hiss, etc.*

For anyone interested, here's a nifty little article from Spin online with all all of the performance videos from KOL's appearance on the Today show.

I agree with you, Wendy, about how adorably humble the guys were during the interview. Jared cracked me up with his "I just wish it was anybody other than our family, that 20,000" when he was asked about how it felt breaking the record for fan pass requests on the show.

My only complaint is NOT ENOUGH NATHAN! Oh well. The boys sounded amazing (duh) and are looking fine these days. I love that both Caleb and Jared are sporting longer hair.

So, Wendy. Your birthday is the day that KOL are playing the Leeds fest, huh? Hmm...I just so happen to have a friend who lives in Leeds. She'd probably love to have us stay with her...so, we only have to get plane tickets and two tickets to the sold out show...

*sigh* It would be so lovely, wouldn't it?

L, I may just take you up on getting a blue name. There is so much going on with KOL these days and I'm thinking about making a KOL blog. Sometimes trawling the fansites for pics and good video links is a pretty dirty job (you know how fansites get) and I love to share the fruits of my hard work with others.

Oh, and Ergo -- I'm not sure I'm going to make it til the new Muse CD comes out. It's going to be awesome, isn't it?

Anyway, I'm leaving this morning to go to Atlanta (seeing Green Day) and I should probably try to get some sleep. If anyone is interested, I'll let you know how the concert goes.

Take care, all, and have a lovely weekend.

Did he actually say that?

Better to have no future than pretending to be someone we're not, right Gerry? Generalizations annoy me.

I don't think so 5:26. If someone said something that was intended to be a generalization, it annoys me. It's one of my biggest pet peeves.

Hi KOL. It's staying up late for me. I was getting done watching some Buffy episodes. It's been ages since I last watched it.

You doing good?

KOL anon said...

Oh, I love Buffy! I love how she's this tiny little blonde thing, yet she so totally kicks ass. And Spike is so...well, he's Spike! He would make mince meat out of that wimp Edward Cullen. ^_~

I've been to bed about three times, but I keep getting back up. Insomnia sucks. Other than that, I'm okay.

Anonymous said...

Lol, that's what's hilarious about the show, her strength. Spike is awesome, I love him when he's being so bad, and I agree he can absolutely kick Edward's ass. He doesn't even have fangs to begin with. Ha!

Sorry about your insomnia though :/

KOL, I hope you have a good time at the concert. I must cut this short. Daylight is coming in about....15 minutes or so, lol.

Hi there, 7:21. That would be Jared. =)

Hiiiiiiiii Mayo,
Your top and bottom drives me to the automatic response of 'manual, everytime'! It isn't until you've worked that manual gear stick down by your left leg, or right leg depending where you live, that you really feel the power and response of the car engine. Going into and out of corners, navigating around and up steep mountain roads, blasting straight roads - it's a great relationship.
Of course you will have been meaning absolutely nothing of the sort, but yeah, tangents and all.=)

It's been nice to see lots of familiar names appear over the last few weeks - precious stones, royalty, unicorns, telephone box travellers, fortune tellers, football supporters, pillow book lovers, U2 lyrically named... =)Lovely to see them all.

KOl anon, safe travels to Atlanta -and looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the show, afterwards.
Luckily there's no longer any need for me to swim to Australia to see them - as they're coming here! One less whale to be saved!

Miss T, that was a leg crosser of a read. O_o
But, the orchid will eventually bloom and it will be perfect.

TJ, You go girl! That's the spirit, starting up driving lessons. It will be a new form of freedom*.
The History Boys is a super film. =)

J and L,
They're not shifting you?!? Didn't they imply major structural changes needed to be made? Craziness.

Hi, to all that visit. And apologies if some one has already answered 7:21 by the time I post this. Too damn slow and distracted as usual, I'm sure.

*apologises for sounding like a car advertisement!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. =)

Wizard of Oz

"Dorothy lived in the midst of the great Kansas prairies, with Uncle Henry, who was a farmer, and Aunt Em, who was the farmer's wife. Their house was small, for the lumber to build it had to be carried by wagon many miles. There was four walls, a floor and a roof, which made one room; and this room contained a rusty-looking cooking stove, a cupboard for the dishes, a table, three or four chairs, and the beds.

When Dorothy stood in the doorway and looked around, she could see nothing but the great gray prairie on every side. Not a tree nor a house broke the broad sweep of flat country that reached to the edge of the sky in all directions. The sun had baked the plowed land into a gray mass, with little cracks running through it. Even the grass was not green, for the sun had burned the tops of the long blades until they were the same gray color to be seen everywhere. Once the house had been painted, but the sun blistered the paint and the rains washed it away, and now the house was as dull and gray as everything else.

When Aunt Em came there to live she was a young pretty wife. The sun and wind had changed her too. They had taken the sparkle from her eyes and left them a sober gray; they had taken the red from her cheeks and lips, and they were gray also. She was thin and gaunt, and never smiled now. When Dorothy, who was an orphan, first came to her, Aunt Em had been so startled by the child's laughter that she would scream and press her hand upon her heart whenever Dorothy's merry voice reached her ears; and she still looked at the little girl with wonder that she could find anything to laugh at.

Uncle Henry never laughed. He worked hard from morning till night and did not know what joy was. He was gray also, from his long beard to his rough boots, and he looked stern and solemn, and rarely spoke.

It was Toto that made Dorothy laugh, and saved her from growing as gray as her other surroundings. Toto was not gray; he was a little black dog, with long silky hair and small black eyes that twinkled merrily on either side of his funny, wee nose. Toto played all day long, and Dorothy played with him, and loved him dearly.

Jadis The White Witch - You know, Aslan, I'm a little disappointed in you. Did you honestly think by all this that you could save the human traitor? You are giving me your life and saving no one. So much for love. Tonight, the Deep Magic will be appeased, but tomorrow, we will take Narnia forever! In that knowledge, despair... and die!

Aslan [almost in a roar] - Do not cite the Deep Magic to me Witch. I was there when it was written.

Aslan - If the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the deep magic differently. That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery, is killed in a traitor's stead, the stone table will crack, and even death itself would turn backwards.

KOL don't know if I can either!!
but I won't be able to hear the single streamed, I'll be at work, have to check the times, I'm sure it'll be somewhere to hear after though
safe travels and have a fantastic time at the concert

hi BC

Helloooooo PP!!! *yells to the south east*

had a great time yesterday, went on some rides, the rodeo and fireworks were good, BG had a ball and I got 4 1sts and 2 2nds for my cooking, (rum balls 1st for the 5th year running!!!) a 1st, 2nd, 3 rd and 2 highly commendeds for my photos
:D
there were some beautiful shots in the contest, so many photos entered, amazing that a small area has such talented photographers!

Good evening Mayo.
Good evening All.

Miss T - I am cringing as I type. Not nice :s

TJ - driving lessons is it? Good for you!

Ergo - was it you who said about Muse? The ' United states of Eurasia ' track has been played quite frequently on Radio 1. Can't wait for the album :D

Anons - still spazzing I see.

I believe Jade has been around. HI JADE!!

To all others - hellooo! And I hope you are all well :)

ergoproxy said...

hello GS!!!

they aren't playing it over here, which isn't a huge shock as they aren't popular on mainstream (I mean in my area too, don't know about other city stations)no one even knows who i'm talking about most of the time, lol
Their site says they are premiering the actual first single from the album, The Uprising, see my link up at 5:54, BBC1 19:30

ergoproxy said...

30 sec tease of Uprising

just plays on the site, no extra clicks needed

gnothi seauton said...

Hi Ergo!!!

Muse not popular? That's blasphemy!

It was a bit of the reverse here. It was advertised on the radio when they would be playing the title track and it was repeated the next day for if you missed it!! It's been quite regular since then. This is the first track of theirs that I have actually gone ' Hmm, not sure '. Usually it's an instant love affair.

Thanks for the link. Shall come back to it in a minute.

So how are you?

gnothi seauton said...

Oh my. Matthew has been watching too much Dr Who lately :)

Could be promising!

ergoproxy said...

YES! I thought Dr Who as well!!

the United States one I had to listen to a few times, still wouldn't be a fave, but that Uprising has a sound I think I will like

They are played more than they used to be, but prett much only stuff from Black Holes
Our national alternative station is the one that really picked them up, that is JJJ and Knights of Cydonia was voted top song in one of their top 100 surveys, 2007

So I wear my shirts and try to educate as many people as possible to their brilliance, already have BG and Hubby turned to them
great to turn up to our workshop and hear them blasting out over the machinery noise :D

ergoproxy said...

I am really well too thanks, had out local fair yesterday so bit tired from going on rides 9and bit of a sore neck, they sure do whip around!)
and I entered some cooking and pics and did pretty well, other than that have a few days work again for the next 2 weeks

how are you?

gnothi seauton said...

I wouldn't say that they are played regularly but if something new is coming out Radio 1 usually makes a point of it.

You entered some things in at the fair? Was it like a country fair then, where you can enter cake comps etc?

I'm not tooo bad. Am into the 2nd week of summer hols. Been a bit under the weather for about a week/ week and a half. My daughter is adamant it's swine flu!! Could be I suppose because we had it in school.

Had my 40th in July. Had a 4 day celebration culminating in a cruise on the river. Was supposed to be a Pimms cruise but we had my party the night before so it ended up a ' nice cup of tea ' cruise :D

That's about it really.

ergoproxy said...

oh wow HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

what a wonderful way to celebrate, a party and a river cruise!

Hope you get over the illness soon, even minor viruses seem to ahve staying power this season
The have swine flu around here too, but not many people fortunately, just heard they had some pigs with it far down south, which is a bit of a concern as they got it from a person, but they are isolated and probably will be destroyed.

It was that sort of fair too, all the baking, vege and fruit, flowers, craft as well as animals
for a small town it's a pretty big contest.
I enter photography and confectionery and bread, my bread won first which I was really pleased about as I hadn't entered that section before

gnothi seauton said...

but they are isolated and probably will be destroyed

MEEP!!

Er, I have diagnosed myself clean.

Congrats on the bread! We, of course, know of your excellent culinary skills so I'm glad others are appreciating them. And your photographs are legend :)

If you don't mind I'm going to head to bed. It's been great talking to you Ergo; please pass on my regards to everyone.

Take care x

and the flowers are lucerne, I was just about lying on the ground as they only grow about a foot up
that pic was on our TV weather too, I sent it in as he shows weather photos each night

Amyranth said...

Dang, looks like Mister's team is about to um... never mind

This is football, and I forgot that 1:53 is like, an HOUR.

Amyranth said...

So did I Ergo!

Teej, this is like my Sunday. I don't work tomorrow, but I've got such a load of things to do before our guests come on Tuesday that it feels like I'm going back to work.

ergoproxy said...

how long are your guests staying?

Amyranth said...

Oh, just overnight Ergo, but we're trying to get that basement bedroom finished once and for all. It's been drywalled, taped and mudded. Sanding and cleanup has been done, and all we really need to do is slap two coats of paint on it and call 'er good for now.

Mister informed me today he thinks burgundy would be a good colour for the room.

toujours said...

that's a lot of work, amyranth! i bet it's going to look great though, even if it is painted burgundy. lol

thanks, ergo! it's saved over to my flash drive. :)

ergoproxy said...

Oh nice, I love that look, with the right colour accessories it would look be fab, you just don't want to end up looking too dark, being a basement

Amyranth said...

Thanks Teej. Thankfully, I had my Dad's help for a lot of it, now comes the "easy" part.

Ergo, I wouldn't mind burgundy, but you are right, it's a basement bedroom. It doesn't get a lot of light as it is, so to paint it such a dark color is going to make it seem smaller.

He really wants to do something fun though, like put the logos of his hockey team and football team on the walls. I'd have no problem with that, except that it affects the re-sale value of the house.

ergoproxy said...

well unless you sold to another fan that would be a minus, but typical male idea
you could put them on canvas and hang them instead if he was set on it
There are so many shades of burgandy too, you could go for a lighter one, or a deep colour up to a fake chair rail then lighter above
you could team it with deeper burgundy extras like quilts and give it the look without the darkness

ergoproxy said...

this is wood panelling, and fairly high, but that sort of look

mayo,

so today was lammas, one of my holidays, the one celebrating the first harvest. i used to bake a special bread and make offerings of it to my gods, but i haven't been able to do that since last spring.

it's weird, though -- i'm not too bothered by the disruption to my usual practices, and i haven't felt that it's distanced me from my gods. i think i'm just in a very outwardly-focused period, and the spiritual stuff will return when the time is right.

the cool thing is that i can still feel lammastide energy in my day-to-day stuff -- for instance, i'm making a budget. i've got some goals i'm saving up toward, and i don't want to fritter away my income on wasabi and caramel macchiatos. i loved following my heart last year and not letting mundane concerns (like money lol) stand in my way of adventure, but now i'm wanting to sit tight for a little while, and build up a foundation for the stuff to come. these days, i'm the ant, not the grasshopper -- and that is completely in keeping with the theme of the season, because what else is it but managing my harvest?

i've been a pagan for a long time, my entire adult life, but it's still always gratifying to see an example of how truly pagan my thoughts and attitudes have become over the years. i don't have to do the witchy thing according to someone else's checklist, i don't have to fulfill any clichés about what i ought to be, i only have to listen to my inner voice, and that will keep me on my true path.

and if i can do that in regards to my religion, then i can do that in regard to every other aspect of my life, too.

i was thinking about that today, in between customers, and seeing my current situation in that light made it suddenly seem much clearer to me, like i had cleared the path ahead of me of the tangle of weeds that had been obscuring it.

not a bad harvest for the day, after all.

good night, mayo. i hope your own path is clear right now, too, and that it brings you much happiness, always.

Tonight I’m filled with so many thoughts that they all seem to be fighting for top spot. Well guess what? None of these thoughts are gonna win. I’m just gonna ignore them all and tell you a story. Show those stupid thoughts who’s boss, I will. Annoying they are. Holy crap I just realized I’m sounding like Yoda. What the hell is that all about? Wait, that gives me an idea. Okay I’m shelving the story I had chosen and I’ll tell you about something else. I’ll tell you about Star Wars. Well, I don’t mean to say I’ll tell you about the movie because I’m pretty sure you’ve seen it. I mean really, who hasn’t? But I’ll tell you some of the things I remember that make me love it so much. I guess part of the reason has to be traced back to it being such a good memory from my teenage years. I actually saw it for the first time on my birthday. I was so damn excited. I’d heard so much about it and just couldn’t wait. From what I’d read many theatres were selling out showings so I was worried that would happen. However, this was Leavenworth Kansas and the people there hadn’t gotten the memo that a ground-breaking movie was being shown. Hey, that worked for me. Anyway one of my friends from school and my mom and dad trekked to the theatre. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. (I had milk duds during the show) Sorry, just had to add that because I just remembered that too. I remember sitting there looking up at the screen and becoming lost in the story. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. And yeah I had a huge crush on Hans Solo. But not Luke, he was too whiney. Crap, now I want to go watch it again. Matter of fact I think I will.

So there. A nice, non-whiney goodnight from me. Oh wait, bringing up that fact borders on being whiney. Well, too bad. Don’t care. LOL

Mayo, I hope today was a memorable one for you. Hope tomorrow is too. Take care.

Night Mayo

Hello Mayo, SS, Ergo, Sweetcheeks, KOL anon, Amy, Martha, Possum, GS, L (and J), Elena, TJ, MissT, lions and tigers and bears (and witches and wardrobes too)... everyone!

How are you all tonight/this morning? Well and good, I hope!

Possum and GS: It's great to see the both of you again! Ya'll should drop in more often!

KOL anon: Tickets to the sold out Leeds show? We don't need tickets. We'll just chain ourselves to a tree in Leeds and say we're doing it to protest climate change/global warming. Yeah, let the powers that be, in Leeds, try to prove we're not!

:P

I agree with my Sweetcheeks. I think you should finally get a nice blue (and/or green) gown for yourself! I think a KOL blog is a fantastic idea!!!!! And, YES; they were absolutely amazing!!!

Ergo: CONGRATULATIONS on all those first prizes and the other prizes as well!!!! I knew you could do it (again). I'm so proud of you!!! Send some of the left overs to me, please.

L: Great job on getting MissT's lady bits to the top o'the peak!! I bet she didn't think they would be "peaking" that soon after surgery! Yay for the both of you!

Amy: I'm still thinking on that puzzle. In the meantime, I have found the perfect wedding dress (or two) for you (or whoever else might be looking)!

~Classic, romantic, victorian gown in pink and ivory!!!~

Isn't that gorgeous?!

~Or, for a more sophisticated look ~ I love this one in amethyst!~

Who needs white?

;)

Perhaps amethyst might be a good color for that basement bedroom too. Hint, hint to the mister!

Elena: Careful when flinging that hair brush, please! You almost got me!

Goodnight, everyone! Sweet dreams to one and all!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Good morning! Yeah, it's technically afternoon, but I slept in today, so it seems like morning to me.

Green Day was incredible! If any of you have the chance to see them on this tour, do it. They won't disappoint. The set was a nice mixture of both old and new songs, and Billie Joe closed out the encore with a mini-acoustic set that was brilliant.

I'm so glad you get to see them, PP. You'll go away happy. Trust me. ^_^

Also, if anyone here is not familiar with them, check out Kaiser Chiefs. They put on a great show. It's not easy being the openers for Green Day, but they were totally up to the task. The crowd loved them.

I had a great time. ^_^

I really think she is a groupie. Someone should warn Caleb Followill to watch out for her.

Oh noes! You've found me out! But don't bother trying to inform Mr. Followill of my plan, because, quite frankly, he won't be able to resist. You see, first I'm going to get his attention with my natural blonde blondeness. Next, I'll flutter my newly darker and longer eyelashes at him in a rhythmic motion until the poor boy is completely hypnotized. Then, while no one is looking, I'll slip some Rohypnol into his drink! If that doesn't work, there's always the option of hitting him over the head with a club. Once I put my mind to something, resistance is futile.

Oh, and Wendy, I'm totally down with your plan for getting into Leeds. Let's do it!

And now I'm off to hit up the Atlanta malls. Have a great day, everyone.

It is only in the mysterious equations of love that any logical reasons can be found.

Kapunua has to be the hardest hard luck woman I've ever sort of known. :( Boyfriend, dog, job (thanks to a person here) grandmother (and then kicked while down by people here) and now this.

Something on this blog scares me. People here seem to have had their fathers die. Miss Tot, Anima, Carrie, and now Kapu. My father has been sick in the past and I've been semi regular here for more than a year. I feel like it's cursed. I feel like there is a curse on the blog.

mayo,

today was driving day, and my sister decided i was ready for the road. granted, it was an isolated country road (only two other vehicles in the hour we were out there -- the first one about gave me a heart attack! *grin*), but it was still a big change from tearing around an empty parking lot.

i had so much fun. i'm really pleased (and surprised) to discover how much fun this is. after that traumatic lesson several years ago, i was afraid that driving would be something i would have to grit my teeth to do, an unpleasant necessity. but i love it already.

at one point, a red-tailed hawk swooped down across the road, directly across the hood of the car. it was astonishing. i almost stopped the car in amazement! its tail feathers were all raggedy, but it was still a graceful sight. it is always a special thing to see a hawk, and to see one like that! well.

you popped up in my mind while i was driving, too -- unexpectedly, i must add, and i still don't know what caused me to think of you. it wasn't anything specific -- suddenly there you were in my mind, just as if you were someone i needed to go and pick up and take somewhere.

what can i say? there's a strange little brain up there in my skull. *grin*

all in all, it was a satisfying practice, and i'll most likely go to sleep imagining all the wonderful adventuresome road trips i'll be taking. why, i'll even be able to go to the library whenever i want!

*heh*

hope you're doing well, mayo, and filling your days with lots of satisfying adventures of your own. good night, and sweet dreams.

Well I'm with my mom at the casino. She has to go back to school next week (she's a lunch lady) so this was our last chance to get away. It's been fun. Okay well fun except trying to explain to mom a certain scene in Family Guy. There is just something so wrong about trying to explain uh Chris tucking a certain part of his body away. Shit, if you've seen the episode you know what I"m talking about and if not I'm so not gonna explain this again. LOL Anyway I explained what he did and then she launched into more questions about guys dangling parts. Maybe I need to censor what she's been watching. And she doesn't even have HBO.

Oh well all in all it's been a good night. I want to spend times like this with her while I can because you never really know what tomorrow will bring. I don't want to fear tomorrow but at the same time I don't want it throwing me for a loop, you know?

Hope your day was a damn fine one. And I hope tomorrow is even finer. Take care, promise?

Do not allow a 7 yo to drive a dodge-em car, or if you do, keep one hand on the steering wheel. Especially one who steers to wherever she is looking one minute, then straight at other cars the next, giggling manically. Must admit though, they are super fun :]
Though I am sure if someone invented it these days, with the whole electrically charged floor and mesh above, car and pole completing the circuit, it'd never be allowed!
Hope you have the chance to really enjoy something this week
much love EP xx

SS
so, please see tip above, lol. So another thing about dodge-em cars is, why is it the guys who do it all seem to have the same manner, and I think this is world-wide. Must feel pretty special to be the one allowed to jump on the back of those cars and steer people out of jams, all the while looking like you think they are idiots for not being able to operate such a simple piece of machinery (though seriously, who invented steering that at full lock goes BACKWARDS!!) and you are so much cooler 'cause you can. I was watching one guy who so very obviously was taking advantage of his view of a rather pretty blonde girl in a lowish cut top, as I'm sure was her intention, who seemed to give off the "I need you to stand on the back of my car" vibe, as much as he gave off the "look at me jumping on the back of these small rubber clad cars, aren't I good" vibe. Don'cha love carnies!
Give off good vibes this week (but watch the low cut tops)
lotsa love EP xx

I just read on VV's about Kapunua's dad. How shocking, how awful, he died suddenly and she was with him? How traumatic for her. I wish her peace. I wanted to publically say that I wish Kapunua and her family peace and healing.

To the shitty people here,I only wish I could throw a rock in the face of all you fuckers. How you abused her. How MJ said such cruel things about how she "handled" her grandmother's death. Any thing to add now MJ, you fuck?

And to everyone else here such as Wendy who came out and proudly said that she was proud of MJ for dong "the right thing" to Kapunua. For all of you who supported Wendy when she got Kapunua fired. For all of you who took a shit on her because she called Wendy "idiot" once and told someone who teased her about her dead dog, to stick her head in a bucket of ticks.

Also to everyone who came on talking to MJ and all her friends like nothing happened and she was so great.

You are all pieces of shit to this girl who did NOTHING WHATSOEVER to you to deserve it.

Maybe there is a curse on this blog. But if there is a curse it's brought about by all of you sick bitches who treat people cruelty and then tell each other what a great job you're doing.

Bunch of rotters you are.

To Kapu and her family, I wish you peace and healing. I am going to call my Dad on the phone today and tell him I love him.

Actually, Carrie, it was Mya who did all of that, but I get where you're coming from.

Still, let's not dredge this up or the shit slinging will start again. Kapunua doesn't deserve that. Respect her desire not to have her personal life plastered all over this place anymore. Please.

I'm sorry, your right, Mya, I get some people mixed up.

And you are right. But someone mentioned this place at VV's and what happened and it got my shit in an uproar. I just never saw anyone gang-raped like what happens to her here.

I also realize I'm setting myself up for the same thing but maybe it will vent their disgust on me instead of her because it really doesn't bother me.

My "shit's" just about in an "uproar" right now too, Carrie Anon.

So, I shall say nothing other than: I wish to extend my condolences to the family.

To everyone else (Mayo and SS included), I hope you're all having an enjoyable day.

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
