Burning the Manual

I have righted myself before you.
Pulled the knife out of my wound,
And shoved it back in yours.
Like you knew I would.
Like you knew I could.
Before I ever had a name
You knew it was there,
Everything for you
And you know it, and I
Know it still, the same.

p.s. who is driving who or...what?

Wise words.

Come party then 7.37. I have a pretty hat for you! *hands over sparkly party hat* and also some cookies.

Anyone who wants a cookie, I've left them in the corner. Help yourself and have a good evening.

BOOGAAAAAAAY! *does a 'gay' dance, a la David Copperfield* don't worry though, shall keep hands to self.

No irony. I am an anonymous. I don't have a problem with people calling me anonymous. Never once did I say don't call me that.

I am an anon who does not shout sign in *insert name here* at other anons. That's so funny when they do that.

That's what I call irony.

The name is anonymous. Therefore what that anon wrote is technically correct.

in what not to post on facebook or anywhere on the net news

Scandalous or Drunken Photographs

Here's a simple rule to live by when posting photographs of yourself and allowing yourself to be tagged in photographs: if you wouldn't show them to your parents, you're not going to want to show them to the Facebook community. Employers and Co-workers can and will get a hold of these pictures and you will be fired for them. Unfair? Maybe. But putting these pictures on the internet gives employers the right to find them. You've made you're own bed, so enjoy sleeping in it.

Phone Numbers

I do not understand the need to put your cell phone number on Facebook. You wouldn't give your phone number out to a random guy in a bar. In fact, you would most likely give him a fake phone number. Why then would you post your phone number on the internet for all guys you've met at bars to see? This isn't safe and it doesn't make sense to me. If someone needs your phone number, they'll ask you for it. Keep those digits to yourself!

Your Every Waking Moment

Please people, Facebook is not Twitter. I do not care what you're doing every thirty minutes. Accordingly, please stop taking yourself SO seriously. "Ashley is floating in a cloud of ecstasy because she just published a new hub," is a really annoying status update. Don't I sound like a tool starved for attention in that status update? Yes, I do. Go ahead and admit it. Your updates sound the same when when you try to be insanely prolific. This is Facebook, people, you're not writing the next Grapes of Wrath for goodness sake!

Hi Ergo
Hi Anon

Ergo, your chicks are darling! The black and white ones are looking at the yellow one like, "You look funny. Iz yoo a chicken?"

Amyranth said...

You can totally tell who was adopted in that photo.

ergoproxy said...

hi J

the white one was a surprise, I have one white hen, but she was out of black and white hen and rooster
There is a white Plymouth Rock so I think it must be a recessive colour..

(and I just googled it and it appears that is the case!)

ergoproxy said...

I have some more at my blog too

there is a chick I call Sumo, it's in the front of the pic with just the 3 chicks at my blog, it's bigger than the rest
at meal time it is always head down, big fluffy white bum up, in the food bowl

Original Punk J said...

The white one IS cute. Yeah, you can tell s/he's the 'special' one. ;)

Hey Amy, good to see you, and you too, Ergo! I keep missing you guys.

Original Punk J said...

Those are some cute chickens, Ergo--I saw your other pics. :)

Amyranth said...

I miss everyone. On too late, leave too early. :P

What's going on, chicks?

ergoproxy said...

I'm waiting for everyone to get home, wondering if I should have my lunch anyway, as I'm hungry
and watching the UK Masterchef

what are you chicks up to?

Amyranth said...

Waiting for supper to finish cooking. I hate cooking rice sometimes, it never cooks the same way twice. :/

Original Punk J said...

This little punkchick is listening to our neighbor play some sort of video game with loud bass sounds. And has been reading some.

Maybe you should have a little snack, Ergo, to tide you over until the rest get home for lunch. Cheese and crackers, yais?

Spanish rice is one of my favorites, Amy. What are you having with it?

Anonymous said...

LITTLE punkchick? LOL.

Amyranth said...

Well J, it's probably not the same as you make it. I simmer the rice in Chicken stock and tomato juice, then add green and red peppers, chopped drained tomatoes, chicken and italian sausage.

Then it cooks for an hour or so. The boys love it.

Original Punk J said...

Sounds very tasty, and you're right, it's quite different from how I make it. Rice-A-Roni to the rescue! :D

I don't put tomatoes in mine b/c neither of us can eat them. We usually have it with chicken; had it with steak fajitas a couple times, too.

Original Punk J said...

Amy, check your email.

Anonymous said...

ooooo Amy check your email. We are going to talk in secret so everybody better start to be afraid of us.

Amyranth said...

Oh YUM.

Chicken and Steak Fajitas are so good. Mister's are easily the best I've ever had, and it's nothing more than chicken, seasoning, red and green peppers and cheddar cheese.

toujours said...

spanish rice was one of my favorite meals as a kid -- i think my mom's version was somewhere inbetween j.'s and amyranth's. but the thing was we always had it with buttered sliced bread, i couldn't not have it that way. the bread was crucial to the meal.

huh.

go figure.

ergoproxy said...

Original Punk J said...

Ah, rice and bread--the Wonderful World of Carbohydrates!

Hey TJ, what's shakin'?

Glad you had lunch company, Ergo, it's always nicer that way.

I loooooooove fajitas, Amy. L gets a kit by Old El Paso, but cooks her own steak, onions, and red and green peppers. Then we add sour cream, mozzarella cheese, and taco sauce. MMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Anonymous said...

toujours said...

congratulations to your niece, j.!

Original Punk J said...

Thank you, ladies. :)

She and her man have been together for almost 4 years, have lived together for most of that. She said they just decided to go ahead and do it. It started out that they were going to go to City Hall on their lunch breaks, but then my sister said she wouldn't be able to go (would've been in Louisiana). So they moved it to TN and now about 25 people are coming. From four to 25.

I'm going to the reception/party they're having in October, that'll be more fun. ;D

toujours said...

a wedding is always nice, no matter where you have it -- it's such a hopeful act -- but hoe neat that they decided to do more than meet at city hall. i bet they're excited. :)

Original Punk J said...

Weirdly enough, they're not, not too much. My niece says she doesn't see anything changing, they'll still do stuff on their own or with friends, not always together. The biggest bit of excitement for her was getting on his insurance b/c it's cheaper. O_o

It's not going to be a big to-do, she's wearing a blue and white sundress with hot pink shoes, he's in a grey suit, and the ceremony's being held in the yard of the church. She made her own bouquet out of tissue paper to match her outfit. (The flower is beautiful, though, about the size of a dinner plate.)

I'm happy for her, but I still have these odd feelings. Fear of change? A tiny bit jealous? Old? Who knows. They'll be happy together, though, and that's what counts.

toujours said...

you know, i didn't think anything would change when i got married -- we had been together for ten years, living together for six of those -- but there really was a subtle change. it was like we had a place with each other, something no one could deny because it was public and legal and official and all that. i was surprised by it.

best wishes for them both!

Original Punk J said...

Well thank you, I'll pass those on to them!

I'm sure they'll be fine. As long as he doesn't ever break her heart, it'll be cool.

What's the word on Emmie?

toujours said...

no word, really. i didn't reply to the email from my ex because i don't want to rile him.

there's no way to get her back right now, so i just have to wait. at least i know he'll keep her, and take care of her. he's too big an animal lover to do anything else, so i know she's safe, at the least.

Original Punk J said...

Yeah, at least he'll treat her well and not give her away or anything. Why is he being so...I don't know, mean?--about it?

toujours said...

he probably thinks he's really doing what's best for emmie, but i also know he has a passive-aggressive streak that is also probably coming into play here, too.

mostly, he's not a bad guy, but he can really be a jerk sometimes, too.

ergoproxy said...

it's a shame about emmie TJ, maybe he is really attached to her now too
and you do know he'll look after her, maybe he'll soften to the idea as he thinks about it more

toujours said...

i know i'll be able to get her back, ergo, especially with my folks throwing in their support. eventually, he'll give in if only to avoid any further conflict.

i just hate to have to do it like that.

well, i'm not giving up! and i'll be glad when i no longer have any reason to have to deal with him.

Original Punk J said...

mya said...

OPJ! How's it going?

mya said...

Cooking the pork loin to 150 degrees and then resting brings it up to the required donesness without over-cooking it.

Plus, when I grill, after browning, I put it over the middle burner (have 3) and turn that burner off, while keeping the side burners on medium.

I love the indirect cooking method!

And ignore those anons. They're not worth your words, your time, or your attention.

Amy, there was a competition?

Amyranth said...

J, yeah, that's what this whole week is about, a fireworks competition.

I explained it a bit more in the email I sent you, but essentially, it's a small handful of countries that come here and put on fireworks displays. The crowd decides, over 5 days, who wins, and on the last night the winner is chosen and all participants create another fireworks display and deafen anyone within a 10 block radius. :D

Original Punk J said...

mayo,

there was this moment today, a sort of flash from my future. i was walking out from the back of the shop, waiting for my ride to show. it was very bright today, so i headed along the side of the building to the shade, walking along the row of parked cars.

i was doing something, tucking my mp3 player into my pocket, settling my bag on my shoulder, just little things, my mind half on what i was doing and half on just walking along and being done for the day, and that's when it happened -- all of a sudden, i felt like one of those cars was mine, and in a second i would be unlocking the door, settling in behind the wheel, and driving off home (or anywhere).

it was so vivid. it was real, like a tiny bit of time travel.

the driving practice today was good -- i did almost 10 miles on new roads, about twice as far as my sister intended to let me drive. i was doing well enough that she just let me keep going. *grin* -- but that moment in the parking lot was better, for that taste of freedom, that taste of independence.

i'm not going to wait until then to start my life, of course. no more "somedays".

but oh man, how much better it's going to be when i'll be able to get around on my own!

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.

Original Punk J said...

Oh Ergo! How pretty he is! He looks just like Raindrop! Except, there looks like there might be a tad bit more 'somebody home' in those eyes...and Thomas looks bigger...and probably has a long tail.

Other than that, they're identical! :D

Very pretty, and has his own duckie, too. ;D

Amyranth said...

J, I really wanted to, but my ol' camera is busted. The battery finally croaked after 5 years and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement.

Well girls, I think now is as good a time as I can get to slink off to bed. There's a big thunderstorm on the outskirts of the city, and it's blowing a sweet breeze through the house. Finally!

(It was 33 degrees today, so this is a slice of heaven right now.)

So, goodnight girls, Mayo and SS.

See you on Sunday, perhaps. My niece is coming to town tomorrow, so I won't be on until much later.

I saw pics of Rain and thought they looked alike
Tom is a bit sepia though, in his lighter fur, is Rain like that?
He is a big cat too, weighs about 7 kg (15 lbs)
he is so puury though
I had a moment of worry as he was on BG's bed just now, and my in laws brought both nephews over, to drop the older off and the younger is only 1 1/2 and they went in the room.
Not knowing how Tom would react to kids I went in, and there he was, all 3 kids on the bed patting him, stretched out and purring!!
I did take him as I don't think I'd trust him not to get spooked but it was good to see.

Original Punk J said...

Goodnight Amy, I don't think either of us will be on tomorrow night, got plans. We'll talk to you Sunday though! Have a good time with your niece.

Ergo, Rain is more gray than stripy now, but as a kitten he was all tabby. He's sort of got some brownish undertones to his gray. Although in the right (or wrong?) light, I get him and Dumplin mixed up cause they're both so dark! I have to check tails! :D

Rain weighs between 10-11 pounds, never any more or any less. It's bizarre. He was the runt of his litter. (Ha, so was Dumplin, and now he's HOOOOOOOGE! Muscular, not fat.)

Animals seem to know who's ok and who's not, it's a good sign Tom was letting the kids pet him--and purring while they did it!

ergoproxy said...

I won't be about tomorrow either, I have friends coming over for the afternoon and dinner
We are going to investigate the creek with a metal detector

Vet said Tom is about 2 she thinks, so he may still grow a bit, he is a solid cat
I think he is very happy we are his family.
Gary is a much smaller cat, very slight and long
they get on not toooo badly now, Tom has stopped being so dominant since his "unkindest cut"

Original Punk J said...

"Unkindest cut", hahaha, I like that! Well, the term, not the act itself.

Dumplin is a long, kind of skinny cat. He's built like a mini panther; his shoulder blades move up and down when he walks, like a big cat. Bombays were bred to look that way, and he really does. You can't tell so much in his pics cause he's usually lying down. But he's pretty graceful.

Rain is short and a little pear-shaped, due to the Manx genes. His hind end sticks up in the air some, and he has this twisty-hip walk. Then there's the nub-tail, or his Nub O' Lub, I call it. If you watch him walk from behind, he looks like a white-tailed deer. :)

Anonymous said...

Mya, "Christian" is just a mask you wear. What you really are is a total shitbag.

Dear SS,

So, it's been a quiet night here. No storms, thank goodness; just a neighbor with a loud video game. Even that wasn't too bad.

Maybe you read earlier that my niece is getting married--well, today, in about 10 hours. She's the youngest of my two sisters' kids, that might be why it's kind of freaking me out. Shouldn't she be the last one to get married and not the first?

Well, it's about the two of them being happy, and its all about the love. Right? Right.

On an aside, I saw earlier that someone wanted them to "send me an angel". Maybe if they sent their angel a plane ticket...;) Heeheehee. Ok, stupid joke. Never mind.

Off to bed with you, too; you're notorious for not getting enough rest.

Goodnight, baby. I love you.

My heart to yours, always.

Mayo

I am adrift tonight. No clear course set, hell no course at all. I am questioning things while knowing full well that I will come to no conclusions. Life just confuses the shit out of me sometimes and sometimes it just batters the shit out of me. I suppose this feeling is being magnified by the fact that all of my girls are gone tonight. They have scattered to the wind, all in different directions. When they were little I knew where they were and I knew my purpose was to keep them safe and sound. But now…well while I wish I could still do that I know I have to let go. Fuck, letting go is hard. It is harder than anything I’ve ever done. I know I have to have faith that I’ve taught them well but that whole thought is pretty scary too. See what I mean? My thoughts are just all over the place. Children should come with warning labels when they are born. It should read….Love them, hold them close while you can, but know that the day will come when you have to give them one more tight hug then step back. You have to step back and watch as they walk away. Crap now I have that stupid “Incredible Hulk Sad Walking Into The Distance” music from the TV show stuck in my head. Great, that’s just what I need. No, that’s wrong. I don’t need that music. What’s wrong is I don’t know what I need at all. I know for the last 19 years I was needed but now I’m not. Not like I was. Maybe I need to know where I go from here. Maybe I do need a course. I hope I find one.

Take care and hey, I miss you.

Ergo, your cat is gorgeous! Love the colouring and staring right at the camera :). And all the black/yellow chicks look just about ready to gang up on the white one, bless, so cute.

J, hope the wedding goes well-good weather and happiness all round.

Elena, your 'outing Mayo' photo was a good find, lol. Nice one.

Good morning bloggy people, good morning everyone.

hi wish, hope you're having a good day
I just had dinner about to go up the back and make a campfire for the kids and hubby (our girl and our nephew)who are having a camp out in the horse yard tonight

Wish you were here said...

Hey ergo. I'm good, day's only just beginning, going into the city today probably.

Awww, campfire sounds fun. Sometimes I do wish I had space to do something like that. Have a good time :)

Good evening, Ergo.
Good morning, Wish.

Aw, cute little chicks Ergo.

I roasted 2 small chickens in my new slowcooker,

How small exactly, Ergo?
*suspicious eyes*

7:21am Aug 16,
Thanks for posting the Alive In Joberg link. Raw, but great to see the essential core of D9.

7:18pm Aug 21,
You weren't burning the right stuff!
*lights a long, slender, frankincense stick*
*wafts gently with hand*
See? Smells better, right? =)

Speaking of films and D9, I saw a 20 minute selected scenes preview of James Cameron's 3D film, Avatar, today. Yep, I seem to be rolling with the film reviews, sorry.

The 20th Century Fox rep gave the go ahead to tell people about it. Risky, since it doesn't come out until December! It could backfire!lol

But - Pandora is stunning - familiar, yet clearly so different (human like, near naked, blue elfy inhabitant thingies, with long tails contribute a little there).

The Hammerhead-Feathercrested-Triceratops fight scenes were hard on the eyes from near the front(gah!I'm always a back row girl >_<) so get near the back if you can, but the rest of the 3D was fine, especially the red, scary ass, hungry tree-ripper creature. The 3D live action was great.

Live action and CG merge together better then expected. Film making just took a new direction. Yep, I'll definitely catch it properly in December.

The audio engineer next to me agreed. He watched it all. Unlike Transformers 2, he said, where he closed his eyes and just listened to the audio. Yeah, T2 is visual crap but the audio story telling is great O_o.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. =)

sorry I didn't make it to goodnight last night, things got in my way, Tonight I have been roasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate under the stars, then I came down to the comfy bed in the house. I'm just about to settle in and watch Most Haunted. Hope you have a lovely Saturday and as it is likely I won't be saying goodnight tomorrow night (have friends over for dinner - lasagne YUM!!!!) I shall wish you a very lovely Sunday as well, know I'll be thinking it to you tomorrow.
much love EP xx

SS
How was your week? Was it a good one, or one you were happy to see the end of? I hope you have a look at the pic of my chicks, they are so cute, and the mum is very attentive, without being aggressive. It's amazing how much they change each day, only a week old and they have new feathers starting to show. So seeing as I will likely not be on to say goodnight tomorrow, I will wish you a beautiful weekend now and you know I'll be thinking of you this time tomorrow.
lotsa love EP xx

*thinks, perhaps, singing ~ dancing and howling in the rain yesterday was not such a good idea*

Well, it was fun at the time!

Good afternoon/evening Mayo, SS, Mya, Amy, Ergo, J and L, Elena, TJ, Wish, Possum!!!, kitties, chicks and non total shitbag anons!

How are you all today? Happy, well and doing good, I hope!

Angel anon/4:07/4:09 ~ I did not know Gene Simmons discovered Angel! I knew he discovered Van Halen; but, not Angel! Thanks for "lil" piece of music history!

You, also, inspired me to do some research and reading. I always wondered why Angel wore all white. Turns out that was Gene's idea too! Since KISS wore black he wanted Angel to "portray" the opposite image.

Is it true that Gene recently bought Canada? I heard he might have.

;P

Amy: Prepare to bow to your new king ~ The God of Thunder (and Rock N Roll)!

;)

Mya: Your baby's senior year of high school is going to go so fast!!! Hopefully, she'll choose to go to a nearby college!

So, when's that next pool party? Perhaps a cruise around the lake in that fine looking yatch?

Ergo: Those baby chicks are adorable!!!! I want the one all the way to the right of my screen. The little black and white one. I iz in love with that one!!! And, Tom is quite a handsome puzzEcat!!! He looks just like my little Noel (only not so little)!

J and L: Tell Rain I'm coming!!!

Wish: How are you? Long time no "catch" you! I hope things are good for you!

Possum: It's so good to read your morning antics again!! I miss them and you!

*passes Possum a pet hair/lint roller*

Have a great day/night, everyone!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Ooops! I forgot something, as usual!

Possum: Thanks for the Avatar review!!! I've heard great things about the movie too and your review makes me really want to see it (when it FINALLY comes out)!

Anon616 said...

Okay, ONE more thing!

I just heard from my niece. Seems she is loving college life already!

The first "building" she visited on campus (besides her own dorm, of course) was the boys' dorm!

She and her room~mate were strolling around campus and met three "lovely" young men who offered to take them on a tour of their dorm.

Ummm hmmmm and LOL!!!!

A good thing this is a Catholic/Jesuit College, huh?

;P and Oh boy!

It's music to drive by day thanks to tj. I'm reaching far & digging deep today. Somedays ya just gotta.

I've been driving all nite my hand's wet on the wheel

There's a voice in my head that drives my heel
It's my baby callin', says I need you here
And it's half past four and I'm shifting gear

When she's lonely and the longing gets too much
She sends a cable comin' in from above
We don't need no phone at all
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We've got a wave in the air, radar love

The radio's playing some forgotten song
Brenda Lee's "Coming on Strong"
The road's got me hypnotized
And I'm speeding into a new sunrise

When I get lonely, and I'm sure I've had enough
She sends her comfort, comin' in from above
Don't need no radio at all
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We’ve got a line in the sky, radar love

No more speed, I'm almost there
Gotta keep cool now, gotta take care
Last car to pass, here I go
And the line of cars drove down real slow

And the radio played that forgotten song
Brenda Lee's "Coming on Strong"
And the newsman sang his same song
One more radar lover's gone

When I'm feeling lonely and I'm sure I've had enough
She sends the comfort coming in from above
Don't need no radio at all
We got a thing that's called radar love
We got a line in the sky
We got a thing that's called radar love
We got a thing that's called radar love

Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too

I'm on the highway to hell

No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me round
Hey Satan, payed my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land

I'm on the highway to hell
(Don't stop me)

And I'm going down, all the way down
I'm on the highway to hell

Good Afternoon/Evening, everyone!

Neither J. or I will be in tonight, got plans, so I will say hello and hope you all have a great night.

Wendy, awww, Bre is off to collage. Surely she is going to behave all innocent and sweetly while she's there. Right? Wait, who is her Aunt again? :)

Possum! Hey sweetie, good to see you and read you. I too miss your morning comments. How is you baby doing at collage?

Ergo, the little white chick is so cute. The first thing I said when I saw the pic was "One of these things is not like the other..." Don't know if you have Sesame Street there, but if you do, you'll know where that comes from.

The pic of Tom was cute too. Aww, he has a little ducky. He also looks like, "yeah, so?!"

Elena, you found it! You must go through the book and fill us in on Mayo's life and times. I bet it's an interesting read!

TJ, I hope you can get your baby back with you soon. I know you miss her very much, and I'm sure she missed you too.

Amy, one word.

Fajitas.

Yummmmmmmmmm!!!

The fireworks competition sounds pretty cool. Do you live close enough to see them very well, or do you guys go over to the festival?

Wish, how are you, nice to see you here this morning. Camping was never my thing, but I think I could get used to it if I could bring all the necessary stuff, like a regular bed, house, air conditioning or heat, you know the basics. :) Actually, I used to camping a lot with my parents when I was younger, and that wasn't bad.

Anon, thanks for the link to the movie trailer. I love the older movies. Breakfast At Tiffanys is one of my all time favorites.

Time for:

Glasvegas' "Geraldine", L.'s Musical Recommendation For The Day

Have a book recommendation too if you haven't read it. "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman. I'm halfway through and it is just wonderful.

Anyway,

Mayo, S.S., Ergo, Elena, TJ, Amy, Martha, B.C., Mya, Wish, Miss T., Possum, Anima, Jade, m., Jennicula, PJ, anons, lurkers, anyone and everyone I missed,

Have a wonderful night and sweet dreams.

Love,

Wendy, awww, Bre is off to collage. Surely she is going to behave all innocent and sweetly while she's there. Right? Wait, who is her Aunt again? :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course she'll behave sweetly, L! She'll be as sweet as southern pecan pie ~ a la mode and with caramel sauce, whipped cream AND a cherry on top!
That is until she's given a reason to NOT behave sweetly!
In other words, mess with her family, her friends, her.... all bets are off. She'll come out with both guns blazing (ala Miss/Ms. Yosemite Sam)! As all good southern ladies should! (Just watch a few episodes of "Designing Women" if you don't believe me.)
;)
I have taught that beautiful young lady well. Her parents helped ~ a bit!
Innocent is an entirely different matter!
Well, we can't expect her to hang on to that much longer...
I know I didn't!
;) again
Ya'll know what other songs are GREAT for driving? Besides the ones already posted and "Heading Out To The Highway" by Judas Priest, "Magic Carpet Ride" by StepphenWolf" or "I Can't Drive 55" by Hagar.
I've always loved driving to some TRIXTER!!!!
~~~ Give It To Me Good!~~~

The lyrics, for anyone who would like to drive and sing along:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well Hey Hey baby
tell me what's your name
From the way you look and the way you dress
I can tell you ain't got no shame
And that's alright
'Cause I'm just a man
*(ummmm hmmmmm)
You say you're from the city
Where things move so fast
Got your fancy cars and your diamond rings
You don't need a love to last
And that's alright
I'm just a man baby
So take me home tonight
Like you know that you should
When you're ready to be bad
Just give it- give it to me good
*ummmmm hmmmmmmm
Me I'm just a rocker
Ain't got much to say
I never did things by the rules
Always did things my way
And that's alright
'Cause that's the I am (rock n roll)
My father was a teacher
And he taught me how to live
He said "Son you gotta be someone
Not takin' more than you give"
And that's alright
That's the way I am
So take me home tonight
Like you know that you should
When you're ready to be bad
Just give it
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
C'mon C'mon
Give it Give it to me good
Now that we're together
I'm gonna show you a thing or two
Hey girl, you got a lot to learn
I'm gonna take you to my school
And make you feel alright
*ummmmm hmmmmmmmm
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That song makes me extra happy!

*ummmmm hmmmmmm's added by me

:P

Anon616 said...

Ohhhhh..... another great driving song by Trixter!

Well, it's one of my personal favorites. Your opinions may differ!

~~~~One In A Million~~~~
And, of course, the lyrics:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once in your life you'll find someone
To make it all so real
When it comes you will know
'Cuase it's like something
You never thought you'd feel

(And) sometimes you say to yourself
Is this really what i'm looking for ?
'Cause only time will tell
if this is heaven or hell
To really know if you're sure

I walk this lonely road
And I felt i'm goin' nowhere
(And) some things I'll never know
But I know why you're the only one

And I'll never find love again
Like the kind you give
Like the kind you send
'Cuase you're one in a million
One in a million... to me.

Baby you've got a certain way
of doin' things that makes me feel
Like I'm someone
So don't change the way that you are

I walk this lonely road
And I felt i'm goin' nowhere
(And) some things I'll never know
'Cuase you're a million and one

I walk the lonely road
And I felt i'm goin' nowhere
(And) some things I'll never know
But I know why you're the only one

And I'll never find love again
Like the kind you give
Like the kind you send
'Cause you're one in a million
One in a million to me..

No more lonely nights
I'm finally goin' somewhere
And it's all because of you
That I know why
You've always been the only one

And i'll never find love again
Like the kind you give
Like the kind you send
'Cause iou're one in a million
One in a million to me

I'll never find love again
Like the kind you give
Like the kind you send
'Cuase you're one in a million
One in a million to me

One in a million to me..
One in a million to me...
One in a million to me...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just know I'm going to be singing some Firehouse before this night is over...
So, be prepared!
~~~~(Baby) Don't Treat Me Bad~~~~

"You can do anything but baby...
don't treat me bad"

I'm sure about that 'you can do anything' part! Hmmmm....

I shall think on that on that line whilst eating my no meat/no beans/extra cheese and lettuce taco salad!

My lack of words tonight is probably for the best. The same feelings spoken with the same voice over and over fade until they are meaningless.

Perhaps there was never really any meaning. Tonight I falter, I waver, and yet... as much as I wish it was possible, I can't close my eyes. And so I still search for the reason that continues to elude.

Take care

stood like that tonight, soaking up the beauty, until i saw a shooting star.

gorgeous.

HELLO BLOG!
Good afternoon. I'm feeling rather chirpy today; sun is out, coffee is good, cigarettes are plentiful. Feel like singing Happy Happy Joy Joy al a Ren and Stimpy. Wtf?

Anyway. Pickled Possum, missed your posting by miles, but hello :) Avatar does indeed sound worth a look.

Wendy, glad your neice is settling in well...touring the boys dorm. Hehe. And I'm good thanks, see, up there... all happy. How are you?

L, no actual camping isn't really my thing either-can't stand insects. I meant the safer kind of camping out where you just sit and enjoy the sky for a while then retreat to the comforts of home :P.

I shall attempt to say hi to everyone now, forgive me if I miss anyone.

L, Elena, Amy, J, Martha, Toujours, Lewis, Mya, Ergo, Pickled Possum, Mayo, SS. Hmm, I think I did miss someone *thinks*. Brain freeze. And hello anons, hope everyone has a lovely day.

I don't drive, but if I did I'd listen to these, amongst other things:

And

KOL anon said...

Good morning. Hope everyone is well.

Hi, Wish!

Today I feel like posting some really old school KOL links. This interview is priceless, especially because of bb Jared. I originally came across this on ontd_kol after searching everywhere else for it, so I take back all the bad things I said about that comm. (A word of warning to other KOL anon(s): Should you decide to join there, just don't go in and say that Sex on Fire is your favorite song or act like you don't know they existed before OBTN; they'll kick you out in a heartbeat.)

And of course, every KOL fan needs to see this. Nathan's accent is priceless. And Matthew's "balls to the wall hard" comment cracks me up every time, as does Caleb's, "We were some roller skatin' fools on this pavement." Of course, Jared (at maybe 16?) comes off as a little smartass. Nothing new there.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Miss T, and I'm glad you liked the picture of the boys with their grandpa. I love that picture too; so much, in fact, I think I'll post it again. We call his clothes "overalls" here in Tennessee, and although I live in the city, you can go to one of the outlying counties fifteen minutes away from here and see scores of little old grandpas dressed just like him. ^_^

Other KOL anon(s), I am seriously trying to find time to make a blog. When I do, I'll be sure to let you know where to find it.

Okay. It's an absolutely gorgeous day here, so I'm going out to enjoy it. Hope the weather is nice for all of you and that you have a great day.

Anonymous said...

I will say..how many could pull this off!!

Wish you were here said...

Seriously late, but hi KOL anon :). I quite like KOL. The new stuff is growing on me, but it was Molly's Chamber that really got me into them. They also held appeal because we had an ad over here for a phone service with people who had long hair and fake 'taches. It was funny.

BSB anon... I always loved how brilliant thay were live. I saw them three live times back then. There's a super super old version of them singing I'll never break your heart somewhere. Amazing.

Anonymous said...

Good Morning

Wish you were here said...

I'll never break your heart. Live, no music, just beautiful voices. Thanks anon, now I have to go and look up video from when I saw them *eye roll* lol.

Another KOL fan said...

I loved the Nardwar video KOL anon, but the documentary was so great. I think one of the best parts was in Part 2 where Caleb was talking about Holy Roller Novacaine being based on a true story. I never knew that and now I have a whole new appreciation for the song. You didn't post the link to it, so I hope other people see it on YouTube and watch if they watched part 1. I would post a link myself but I always mess them up.

I wanted to ask you how you feel about the band becoming so mainstream now? I think they've sold more than 5 million copies of OBTN now and it's still in the top 20 on the global chart and #5 on the US chart after 47 weeks! That's amazing really, but most fans who have been around a long time aren't happy about that. I've seen lots of them say the new record is crap and they should go back to a more southern sound. I like the older stuff better myself. What do you think?

As always thanks for the links.

WASHINGTON – Millions of older people face shrinking Social Security checks next year, the first time in a generation that payments would not rise. The trustees who oversee Social Security are projecting there won't be a cost of living adjustment (COLA) for the next two years. That hasn't happened since automatic increases were adopted in 1975.

*shakes head*

that's so wrong.

Wish you were here said...

Oh wow, 4:04. That's awful. One of the reasons I'm thankful not to have been born there. Poor old people need looking after, it's ridiculous their money will be going down. I could be sympathetic to not raising it if times are tough, but now lowering it, that's just terrible.

Anonymous said...

Instead of spending billions on cash for clunkers and government takeovers of banks the administration should have put that money into social security.

These senior citizens worked hard all their lives for those ss benefits.
