This place IS "the trash".
It is not 'revisionist history", all I have to say to that is "The Fix" and "The Guidelines", how bullshit was that, come on. You people got rid of the ones you hated (I thought the blog was kind of fun back then) and harassed them in every way, from calling them various disgusting names to insulting their families, publicly giving out their real names and information (happened to Sdock thanks to OPJ and Kapu thanks to OPJ), made sure they lost jobs, just about everything you "Uglies" could htink of.
Now that they're gone you're all doing the exact thing you all bitched about them doing for months.
It's bullshit.
There has been a lot of talk over at Mayo's about how to "fix things".
Well, I've got a few ideas, and I can guarantee that very few people are going to like them.
You want to fix things at Mayonaise's? Why not give the stage to someone else once in awhile? Constant self-centered posts, be they about what you're doing every exact second of every day, or posts as "Random Televison Character" really monopolize the conversation. Is that fair to anyone? Nope.
What's that? Scroll past it? You know, that would be a genius idea, if it didn't make up 75% of the blog replies. Ignore, ignore all you want, but it is still there. It's still used to derail current topics of conversation. It's used to force people to stop talking, and it's used for attention. It's beyond pathetic.
However, I'm going to hell in a 24k handbasket, because I refuse to stand for anyone who is comfortable to spend the day, night, mid-afternoon, whatever, belitting, undermining, harassing, or even outright insulting people who I consider to be friends.
Who gives anyone else the right to do those things? Nobody.
They are done, and done again. And over and over. I have seen the posts. The veiled comments behind my back. I've even seen the assumption that I am every nasty Anon that has ever visited Mayonaise's blog.
Oh, but here I am, in blatant disagreement with a lot of things. A lot of people. Oh well. I suppose I can't be blacklisted any more than I already am, can I?
If you can't have a POLITE discussion about anything, without resorting to name-calling, derogatory talk, or even threats, you do not even have a right to open your mouth.
"Real adults - mature ones - realize that different people have different tastes. Really realize it, as in: they don't just say they do, they mean it and take it to heart. As opposed to trying to FORCE their tastes on anyone within earshot. Particularly when said "anyone" has expressed profound dislike of said thing-that-is-within-said-adult's-tastes. Real grownups don't feel the need to be a conversational dictator."
(Clearly exempt from this are Anons that come in with the claws and teeth at someone's throat for no decent reason.)
Here's something else to ponder. Why would you discuss things, or even provide information that you can be used to harass you and possibly make your life unhappy?
This is the internet, darlings. Regardless of who you are, you should never provide information, or allow access to information that anyone can use to identify you offline. Ever. Period. You put yourself and everyone around you at serious risk when you do that.
Why make yourself a target? Why make anyone else an unwilling target?
I have felt for a very long time now that there has been a movement to push people away from Mayo's. It is painful to read and even more painful to say. I do not form this theory lightly, and I wouldn't say it unless I truly felt that it was affecting everything that we all used to enjoy so much.
There is no inclusion. There is no friendliness. There is no love, and no "home".
My mother said to me once "If you're being picked on for something, pay attention to what is being said. If it's the same thing over and over again, maybe it's something you should think about changing."
People will not conform to your expectations. They will not conform to your will. They will not take up your ideals, your thoughts, or your mentality. They especially will not tolerate attitude from anyone who attempts to lord over them.
If you seem to be the problem, look at them, and ask yourself what you plan to do. If the answer is "Nothing", then do not be surprised when the circle around you gets wider, and wider.
For those of you that complain about the divide in the House of Mayo, here's some of your reasons why. If anything can bring it back to what it was, I feel that fixing these problems would be a start.
They are not minor.
They are not going to be easy.
I think they can be worth it.

I just trued giving him a little rinse in the tub because he's shedding SO BAD. I thought maybe the water would help to loosen some of the old furs that are coming off, and wash them away, but no real luck.

so this was a little bit of weirdness from my day -- i didn't feel like putting my hair up at the shop today like i usually do, but it was unruly (imagine that) and i didn't want it in my face, either, so i grabbed a ribbon scrap and tied it up around my hair like a headband. it did the trick and i thought no more about it.
until i caught sight of myself later in the day: red ribbon, dark hair, tiny little bow on top of the head.
i was rocking a snow white vibe.
go figure, inadvertent cosplay at the quilt shop. *grin*
but it was an odd feeling there for a moment, looking into the mirror and seeing a disney character. oh man.

Hi dear M. Naise,
I just spent the weekend with family in Branson, Missoura. Oh yeah! I'm more tan than I have been in several years! Wow, I actually got to be in the sun...so great to be out on the lake... fishing, swimming, tubing behind the boat! Hella fun. Much needed time away. It makes me realize how much the simple/inexpensive trips are way more better than anything. Even though 8 of us were crammed in a 300sqft cabin! Good thing we are family!
I wish I was still there, but I'm back; and now we are celebrating our bar's one year anniversary. I can't believe it! It should be a good time...We have an amazing band playing that night...we are so fucking lucky! Just saying.
All in all, I'm hoping you find time to take the family away - don't spend a lot of money, just more time...I highly recommend it!
I hope you are okay, healthy and happy. I think of you often.

WOW and daamnnnnnn!!!! What an amazing evening/night/morning!!!!
I almost forgot how fantastically enjoyable ARENA ROCK shows could be; but, Cheap Trick ~ Poison and Def Leppard reminded me, tonight.
They rocked that New Orleans Arena!!! All of them did!
Cheap Trick looked so damn happy when they finished their 40 minute set. They so did not want to leave that stage; and, who could blame them. They received much LOVE, respect and appreciation from the New Orleans audience. They said they would be back in NOLA as soon as humanly possible! They sounded great and they looked great!
*blows kisses to Robin Zander and all the Cheap Trick guys*
Poison took the stage next and they were great as well!!! Rikki Rocket was in especially fine form. Being a new dad suits him!
And Bret is just as sweet and charming as ever. He gave a wonderful "speech" before playing "Something To Believe In".
Somethings about how much he loves New Orleans/Louisiana and the people of the state. He thinks our priorities/our values are right on the mark. He especially loves the way we support the military and recognise and appreciate their sacrifices(several members of the military who just returned from active duty in the middle east were in the audience as Poison's special guest) and a military man was video taping their performance!
Needless to say, he received a rousing round of applause when introduced. Hell yeah!
Finally, Def Leppard took the stage. The first song was a little rough. I was very concerned about Joe E.'s voice. It was hoarse, low and basically not good for half of their first song. But, miracle of miracles, half way through that first song his voice (mysteriously) came back full force and fresh sounding. It was glorious from then on. Absolutely perfect! And, his dance moves were pretty damn great too!!! The entire band sounded incredible. They played for well over an hour, did an encore and spent about 10 minutes taking bows and blowing kisses!
After the concert, my sister and I took Bre for her very first walk down Bourdon Street. I don't think she was very impressed; but, I had fun (as I always do).
I ran into Razzoo's to say HI to Austin, ran into The Dungeon (of course) to say HI to one of my favorite bartenders in the entire city, took Bre to The Famous Door to check out the band there, stuck my head into another bar when I heard a familiar bass line...
saw it was, indeed, my friend Cujo (who I had not seen since the night of the MCR concert in NOLA last year. He happened to playing across the street from the HOB that night and I spent some time chatting with him on the sidewalk that night). Gave him a big hug and kiss then motioned for Bre and my sister to come in to meet Cujo and enjoy some Hendrix. Stayed there for awhile. Waved bye~bye to Cujo prompting him to jump off the stage and give me a bigger hug and kiss (got sweat all over too) and making me promise to message him today (which I shall. A promise is a promise).
Then we started walking to One Eyed Jacks, got lost, asked a very nice man named Mark how to get to One Eyed Jacks from where we were. He "just happened" to be going in that direction, so he offered to show us the way. Got to One Eyed Jacks and it was closed. Hung out in front of One Eyed Jacks, chatting with Mark, when a lovely lady pulled up on a bicycle and said "Excuse me, weren't you at the Def Leppard concert tonight?"
To which I replied, "Yes, I was." And gave her a very curious 'how did you know that' look.
Turns out, she was bartending and served me my first drink. She even remembered what it was. Grey Goose and pineapple, double shot!
I was impressed!!!! So was my sister and Bre! We all looked at each other like
O_O
I asked her how the hell she remembered me from the thousands of people she served. Apparently, I reminded her of the girl in the Poison videos. LOL!!! Well, sorry. I watched some Fox news today. It's nuts. It's like no other news, I kinda love it. Apparantly though the H1N1 vaccine is being tested on children in different doses to see what will work fastest and the best. Wtf? So animal testing is not okay, but child testing is, because the families will be compensated for their time and travel?
Also, Google is being made to hand over the identity of a blogger for saying hateful things about a model and dedicating an entire blog to it so she can sue the person. I guess some people should be careful what they blog about. Silly people making entire blogs in order to slag people off *shakes head*.

Yeah I had the misfortune of seeing that picture. all I took from that exchange was that he was asked a question, he made a joke about it, and they posted the picture. If he doesn't complain, nothing can be done.
The model? My news channel said the things said about her were not to her face, they were behind her back to many people, causing her a loss in work through rumours about her.
They're saying it was libelous and defamatory. This is an example of why I feel differently towards that photo than the blogger case:
I saw something on that blog you refer to a few days ago, where someone said that you-know-who had groped and verbally attacked a female tech...they were specific enough with time that someone could work it out if they wanted to. That kind of talk is damaging, it's accusations, it's disgusting to circulate a rumor like that. That could be sued against...I've no idea about the picture in law terms, but if it doesn't hurt/harm him and he says nothing then nothing can be done.

Yes, slagging is a form of degredation (sorry it's a term we use here, if you're not familiar with it), like calling someone a bitch, for example. Slagging is not generally something that ruins a career or job prospects though, it's basically name calling but not accusation. But, no I don't particularly agree with what they did with that photo, though I suspect he may have gotten a chuckle out of it.

Actually in truth, Kapunua and Sdock could really call the fires of hell on this blog for all the harassment the both of them took from people signed in, and from blue people pretending to be anons. The two of them got it the worst and I say that as an outside observer who always wondered why the two of them didn't pursue that more. Their real names, people posting where they live, the vulgarities they were called and the defamation, calling them liars, c*nts, scags and you name it. OPJ accusing Sdock, Smoke and Fimble for "framing" her when she accidentally posted signed in, when she meant to anon.
The people here who insulted Kapu's family over and over and over again? Some of that was signed in and some was "anonymous" but it's all harassment and defamation.
I know it happened to most people here, but those two got the worst of it, endlessly. And those two had their information revealed.
Part of me wishes those two would buck up and take all those people down. But I also realize it's probably more trouble than it would be worth for them.
I'd agree with you anon, if that stuff was posted about me in that way I would at least be contacting Google, but like you say, perhaps it was more trouble than it would've been worth.

I really don't know why they didn't contact blogger. I suspect it was to protect Mayo. You're right, he did ask the others to stop. he expressed concern over Mya reporting Kapunua's plea for help and getting her fired. He more or less told Amyranth that if she didn't like the poetry and quotes, she could leave. (Many times).
he stood up for them many times but it never ended. I'm not saying the blog owner should catch shit for the actions of other people but I wonder..... with this news as you report it now .... if Sdock and Kapunua could do the same thing and hold people accountable for their actions. Not just words but actions they did against them.

But I think the point someone was trying to make is that using imformation against someone, is what is not legally okay. For example as I don't want to be involved in names, last week I was sent an important letter with a lot of personal information in it, from the government, unsealed. I got it ten days after it was posted, so anyone could have my details now. If they were then found out as having used my information against me to have me kicked out of my home for false reasons, they could be prosecuted.
But that's the point. It is really NOT a big deal. If Mya chooses to reveal something that Kapu put on on her facebook then there's really nothing wrong with that. It' snot horrible.

Someone I know made a song about a local girl, calling her all sorts or names and saying she was a whore, etc. They sent it around and it spread like crazy to the point people used it as ringtones and sent her and her family hate mail and threats. They had to be moved, and have been allowed to press charges against the people who started it.
