Oh hell what a day. Yep, my day was spent with Flighty and I’m still twitching. Sad thing is she really did say or do anything over the top. Well, okay her over the top is so close to her normal that it’s really sorta hard to make a distinction. All I can say is she was in a sharing mood about her life and it was all I could do not to scream TMI. It’s not that I don’t want to know what is going on in her life but honestly I could do without some of the details she was sharing. Oh well, I’m just gonna let it go. I’ve found that in more and more aspects of my life this is the best way to go. Time is precious and I’m not going to waste one second of it worrying about things I can’t control.
So, that said, I hope you had a good day. I hope you too can recognize the fact that this world is full of things we can’t control, things that try to fuck with us. If you let these things hit their mark, then you lose precious time. And you wouldn’t want that to happen now would you?

Here is my observation. Frank came here a few days ago and posted the Kool Aid Man IN RESPONSE TO OPJ. Then shortly after that he Tweeted the same thing on his Twitter.
Some observations I made about that. First of all, Frank knew it was OPJ when she sent him the package and the books, and he publicly thanked her on Twitter for that.
It was IN RESPONSE to OPJ that he put the Kool Aid both here and on his Twitter.
Mya noticed that the Kool Aid looked "beaten up".
So it's obvious that Frank is still close friends with OPJ and is ON HER SIDE.
Remember, it was OPJ who first called Kapunua out on playing the stupid Kool Aid game on this blog. It was OPJ who revealed that Kapunua was the one spamming the board with Kool Aid quotes and generally being an attention whore.
Some people might not remember that but I'll bet Frank does.
And it was Amyranth and Mya who finally told the porchies to stop being Blog Hogs.
Since he has shown his friendship toward OPJ recently in so many ways, you have to assume that he agrees with OPJ, Amyranth and Mya about how this blog should be run.
Remember, the Kool Aid pitcher that Frank posted looked "beaten up", which seems to mean, "You got beat. We won. You lost".
I don't think there could be any question about who was really in the right, all along.

The point being made is that people seem to think the Kool Aid on Twitter was relevant to this blog. However, Mikey made a similar comment. That pic was passed around the internet during the time. It is of no significance to anyone and it's delusional to think so.

I'm from the UK and I was here when SS posted and I thought SS had actually slipped up because he posted at what would have been stupid o'clock in America when any sane person would have assumed Frank would be asleep. I thought after 2 years he had finally messed up and got his time zones confused or something. I checked on s//c and twitter and he wasn't online on either. When I checked back 10 minutes later I saw Frank had tweeted a link from failblog and said he was just about to go to bed.
It's just odd that if someone was pretending to be Frank you would at least think they would pick a time to post when they could at least guess Frank would be awake! If Frank hadn't tweeted right after SS posted, I would have been convinced SS had been caught out cos it was such a ridiculous time to post.

You are right anon. He hasn't been around since the misty skies reference afew months ago. He is here even less than Mayo is. I am quite sure he has no idea what goes on here most of the time. Like the time OPL was so sick, he had no idea and yet she had been in the hospital for over a week and almost died. And likewise he was late finding out about Kapu's loss, and it was a lovely gesture, tipping his hat respectfully to Granny K the way he did. He has always been kind to Kapu and I believe if he knew her dad had passed, he would say something. He isn't here enough to have noticed that she isn't here any more. i'm feeling poleaxed, literally. i sent an email to my ex last week, askign for a kitty update because i was missing her so bad, and he finally replied tonight.
said it was "time for me to let her go", that he didn't "see the point" of moving her, that "for her sake she needs to stay".
my mom helped us pay for her, the fees and pet deposit, because after my cancer treatment i was feeling like there were so many things that i would no longer be able to do. i remember she told me that there wasn't much she could help me with in the other areas of my life, but she could help me finally get a cat. she knew we had never been able to adopt one because of the cost.
emmie and i were so close, she was literally like the child i would never have, and now my ex says i can't have her back.
i feel like he just stole her from me.

Speaking of silly, I remembered one of my favorite cartoons, "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends". (As a matter of fact, I wore my Foster's T-shirt today.) This little old lady named Madame Foster runs a home for imaginary friends whose children have outgrown them. She adopts them out to new children, for the most part, but there are a few who're there all the time.
In this episode, called "Mac Daddy", the little boy, Mac, whose imaginary friend is Bloo, wakes to find a new I.F. in his room: Cheese.
Cheese is not like anyone else I've ever seen anywhere. He's the typical 2-year-old. Except he's yellow. :D

the best part of today was having the wooden box i ordered from etsy arrive, the one i plan on using for my travel altar. it's this beautiful little thing, elegant and simple, mostly oak with a walnut base. it just feels prayerful, alive with the scent of sawdust and oil and the feel of the woodgrain, sanded soft but rippled still.
soon enough it will hold the little items i'll find for it, and when the lid is removed it will smell like oak and honeyed beeswax and sandalwood. from now on, i will always have a little home for my gods, no matter where i go.
that was the best part.

Well today started off with flooding. Yeah, really it did. We got over 4 inches of rain in a very short period of time. Going to work this morning was quite an adventure. For now it’s stopped but more rain is in the forecast for the next several days. I can’t even begin to imagine what the dungeon must look like. See I didn’t tell you but while I was gone on my trip the dungeon had a flood. The central air screwed up and we had a little mini lake down there. So naturally just when it starts to completely dry we move into a damn rainy season. Oh well, that’s how it goes and goes and goes. Other than that, today was the first day of school. Life changes around here when that happens. Mornings are pretty hetic and Lord knows I stay out of the bathrooms while the girls are getting ready. Actually I just sit and wait for the fights to begin… “she took my eyeliner, she’s wearing my new shirt….” That goes on and on too.
At least it’s quite now. I like this time of night. The windows are open and I hear the soft clicking of the attic fan and the sounds of the night. And tonight the air is sweet. The rain scent still lingers and it’s so nice. Pretty boring isn’t this? I suppose it is but it is what it is…it’s my life. I am not complaining at all.
I’d like to leave you with the lyrics to a song that is going through my head. Not sure why, I haven’t thought about this song in years. I did have the album once upon a time and I played it constantly. This song was one of my favorites. Nilsson’s voice was haunting. I mean come on, Without You? That is one bad ass song. Toujours, I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I hope things can be resolved. I'm sure she'll remember you-I had a cat when I was younger which we had to give away. The next time I saw him was four years later and he definitely recognised me. I know this because he was always skittish, always nervous and never really like people, especially strangers but when I saw him again it was like we'd never been apart.

I'm not really in the habit of saying goodnight, I just kind of float away and stay away, but I do like to say good morning. It's afternoon here but your time says morning, so good morning. I've not been sleeping well recently, up too late and too early, not enough time to sleep between the two. I've exhausted myself recently, and it makes me forget things more. Yesterday I forgot for half the day that it was my dad's birthday, but I made up for it in the end. I wrote him a letter, maybe because his health hasn't been so good recently, I'm not sure, but it felt good to recall old memories and tell him why he's so special.
My point is that I let things get too hectic, and in doing so I forgot some things that were really important. Make sure you take some time out for yourself, remember what's important, who is important.

Good news on the eye doc front, everything was fine, just have to keep putting drops in my eyes for dry eye, and no return visit for a year.
We spent some time in the library yesterday, and came across some hard to find books, which was a treat. Not sure why, but J. has mentioned this too, there is something comforting about being surrounded by books, by the words and thoughts of people both living and long dead, words that live on for ohers to find decades, hundreds or thousand of years later.
I picked up a copy of "Fear And Loathing In America", a collection of Hunter Thompson's letters, faxes, notes, etc., from the late 60's to the mid '70's. The book was published in 2000. It was very strange to read the introduction with the words "he is" instead of "he was".
A couple of quotes stood out to me.
"I never believed much in luck, and my sense of humor has tended to walk on the dark side. Muhammad Ali, one of my very few heroes, once took the time to explain to me that "there are no jokes. The truth is the funniest joke of all."
The other was this-
"It was my personal lighthouse and I could see it from anywhere in the world-no matter where I was, or how weird and crazy and dangerous it got, everything would be okay if I could just make it home. When I made that hairpin turn up the hill onto Woody Creek Road, I knew I was safe."
Maybe he found where he was safe. I hope so.
