Set to self-destruct.

The saddest girl
In the whole world
Sits in thirty day
Thinks she owns it.
Models herself a pro
With every word just so
Crack answers for everything
And a lie to keep you guessing
Is she real or just made-up.

She says she's lost her life
And can't tell where to find it.
So she sold her soul for the high
Of the sweet synthetic lullaby.
Where's the bottom when you need it?

The saddest girl
In the whole world
Just told the doctor she's fine
The problem isn't mine
"It's them." and they've ruined me
And all that I could ever be.
So now she has a new disguise
and half-way covers her eyes
with a crystal crooked crown
Slipping just missing her frown.

She says she's lost her life
And can't tell where to find it.
So she sold her soul for the high
Of the sweet synthetic lullaby.
Where's the bottom when you need it?

She used to be a little girl
The sweetest you've ever seen.
Now she's just a tracing
Of a near broke beauty queen.

I thought the gravy was lovely, maybe could ahve used a bit of vegemite stirred in though...

elena said...

Ergo no vegemite !!!!!

Actually it might have been okay because I used Kitchen Bouquet and that's about the same taste.

Thank you TJ, it was just fine he just likes to find something to complain about.

if he was complaining about the gravy it means the roast was perfect. :)

Very true TJ

So what's new with you?

I've been doing okay ergo, thanks. And you? You're welcome for the blog comments. I kinda have a fondness for tigers, jaguars and such, hee.

Hey elena and tj. Please continue to finish writing the gothic story. I miss reading it

oh we are going to pick up a bit of a muscle car this afternoon, it's a holden HX V8 all chevy motor and gearbox, 1 tonne ute, it is one a guy sort of started doing up and didn't finish, sounds cool and will be hubby's hobby.
it's good as it all goes and everything just needs tidying up
long time since we've had a good V8

Sure TJ sounds like fun. Let me know when you want to start

ergoproxy said...

apparently they are making a vegemite for the US, mixing it with cream cheese as they said you guys put it on too thick, so it'll be weaker

you see we put like a scrape on toast or bread with butter, not a layer like peanut paste, that'd be gross

Oh Ergo

Gonna be walkin' on the wild side in a Big V8 How cool

We have a 64 Thunderbird that's waiting to be restored. It doesn't need that much work and I can't wait.

sorry getting distracted...

Mayo

You know if someone asked me to describe my life right now I think I’d say “Spiraling out of control”. So much shit is going on I’m finding it hard to breathe at times. My biggest worries center around my girls. Two of them are having some health issues. (when it rains it pours, right?) And I’m scared. There I said it. See I can say it here but I can’t in front of them because I’m the mom and moms are supposed to handle things. You know what? I’m tired of handling things. Sometimes I just wanna crawl into a hole and hide. But that’s not possible, I have to keep going. So I pretend things are fine. But sometimes….I just don’t know. And I guess because of the stress I’m letting stupid, small shit really bother me. I seriously yelled at my car today. The check engine light came on (it’s been on for about a month now and it’s nothing wrong I had it checked) but every time I start the car the light comes on and it dings. Well today was one ding too many. I spent a good five minutes yelling at the car. Actually cursing at the car. Then I felt like an idiot. Yeah, stress is my close companion right now. But you know what really worries me is that I’ll screw up and crack. I don’t want to let people down. And yeah, there is much more going on then just my girls. Shit I can’t talk about. I feel like I have this huge weight on my shoulders and I’m starting to bend. But I won’t because I can’t. See I just told you this because it helps to get it out. For some reason it helps to write this down, maybe just to acknowledge to myself how I feel. Does that make sense? I can say here what I can’t say out loud. Thank you for that.

So now it’s back to the comics I’ve been working on all night. I need to get them done. Take care and once again, thanks.

Night Mayo

Kalamazoo

Once, in the city of Kalamazoo,
The gods went walking, two and two,
With the friendly phoenix, the stars of Orion,
The speaking pony and singing lion.
For in Kalamazoo in a cottage apart
Lived the girl with the innocent heart.

Thenceforth the city of Kalamazoo
Was the envied, intimate chum of the sun.
He rose from a cave by the principal street.
The lions sang, the dawn-horns blew,
And the ponies danced on silver feet.
He hurled his clouds of love around;
Deathless colors of his old heart
Draped the houses and dyed the ground.
O shrine of the wide young Yankee land,
Incense city of Kalamazoo,
That held, in the midnight, the priceless sun
As a jeweller holds an opal in hand!

From the awkward city of Oshkosh came
Love the bully no whip shall tame,
Bringing his gang of sinners bold.
And I was the least of his Oshkosh men;
But none were reticent, none were old.
And we joined the singing phoenix then,
And shook the lilies of Kalamazoo
All for one hidden butterfly.
Bulls of glory, in cars of war
We charged the boulevards, proud to die
For her ribbon sailing there on high.
Our blood set gutters all aflame,
Where the sun slept without any heat—
Cold rock till he must rise again.
She made great poets of wolf-eyed men—
The dear queen-bee of Kalamazoo,
With her crystal wings, and her honey heart.
We fought for her favors a year and a day
(Oh, the bones of the dead, the Oshkosh dead,
That were scattered along her pathway red!)
And then, in her harum-scarum way,
She left with a passing traveller-man—
With a singing Irishman
Went to Japan.

Why do the lean hyenas glare
Where the glory of Artemis had begun—
Of Atalanta, Joan of Arc,
Cinderella, Becky Thatcher,
And Orphant Annie, all in one?
Who burned this city of Kalamazoo
Till nothing was left but a ribbon or two—
One scorched phoenix that mourned in the dew,
Acres of ashes, a junk-man's cart,
A torn-up letter, a dancing shoe,
(And the bones of the dead, the dead)?
Who burned this city of Kalamazoo—
Love-town, Troy-town Kalamazoo?

A harum-scarum innocent heart.

Looks like more bad news for the KOL fans. RPattz, SMeyer and the person doing the music for the New Twilight film are itching to get them on the soundtrack. If so they'll probably use the song Closer.

Twilight ruined Muse's Supermassive Black Hole for me forever. Now it's going to ruin Closer for KOL fans too.

Oh well. Too bad so sad.

Anonymous said...

From the comments.

I'm sorry but I LOL'd. KOL fans are going to shit bricks.

I'll try again.

*runs back in upon hearing the title of one of her favorite KOL songs mentioned*

Nothing can ruin that song for me. I don't care if they agree to let the song be used in a triple X rated porn movie starring mini KISS! I would still love the song and KOL. I'm quite certain the KOL anons would agree!

:)

"Stranded in a spooky town

Okay, no time to finish the song. I really must run (without the moon, this time)!

Enjoy your afternoon, anon!

hi wendy
hi TJ

2:22 such a shame your feelings on the song were so superficial! I'm sure the KOL's have more depth than you.

we actually got to 0C at the house this morning (which is partway up a hill) frost right up the yard, you can see the damaged grass, I didn't see the frost though, hubby & I were far to comfy snuggled up in bed

KOL anon said...

Hello Ergo and Elena.

I read the ONTD post about Closer possibly appearing in the next Twilight film earlier today, and although some fans are unhappy about it, I honestly could not care less.

Nope, I'm not a fan of Twilight, but the original soundtrack was very, very good. With songs like Flightless Bird by Iron & Wine and Supermassive Black Hole by Muse and others by Collective Soul and Linkin Park, how could it not be? Also, Radiohead's 15 Step was featured in the end credits (although it wasn't on the soundtrack) and, love them or hate them, you can't deny Radiohead's credibility. So...if they do use Closer or another KOL song for the next Twilight film, it will be in good company.

It's all good. ^_^

ergoproxy said...

I shall :]

apparently I can't have a go yet as air cleaner is very dirty, I think hubby just wants to fiddle with it first
better be able to have a go soon

ergoproxy said...

hello KOL

how are you?
I always think being in a soundtrack can expose a band to potential new fans who may not have ever heard them before, which is always a good thing
heck I'd strap people down and force them to listen to muse if I could!! lol

oh and they are tweeting lyrics to their first single, the teases!! Won't be long until the release
YAY!

Hey, everyone, how are you?

I'm doing good, besides an URI with fluid on my ears. Feeling a little better.

Wendy, thank you for finding that list of room numbers and places around the castle. The looking back comments from yesterday were really nice to read.

Also, welcome back, Mayo. It's been a long time. Good to see you here and the party does sound good. Hope you can find a space on your calendar! Glad you are in good spirits, and get some rest. Take care of yourself.

Elena, the garden looks great. I like the gazing ball in the bigger picture. Oh, and any leftover roast? I'll take the gravy too!

Ergo, I've got to go over and check out all the vacation pics.

KOL Anons, I wanted to let you know that there is absolutely NO problem with me or J. with you being here. You all seem very nice, and are welcome here anytime, I'm sure. They may not be my favorite band, but I don't dislike them either. Hey, their from Tennessee! Gotta like that.

I read an article not long ago in RS about them that was really interesting. The brothers seem to have a love/hate relationship. Sort of one will bust a bottle over the other's head and then hug them in the ER telling them they love them, man. Reminded me of the Oasis brothers. KOL had a lot of really good stories and outlooks on life. So I can definitly understand the fanbase.

I'm sorry you are still being bothered by anons. Are you still getting e-mails? Can you block them or is it from different addresses? Don't worry about the crappy anons, you come in and talk whenever you want.

I really envy you getting to go see U2! The last time I saw them was on the ZOO TV tour. They are such a fantastic band.

Hey to Amy, Mya, B.C., TJ, Lewis, S.S., nice anons, lurkers, anyone I missed, etc. :)

Hey L. I just saw the U2 commercial for blackberry. It's rockin. Makes me want to go to a U2 concert.
They musta got a nice chunk of change for doing that commercial.
Take care of that ear and infection.

Original Punk L said...

Thanks, anon. I will. How are you doing? U2 put on one of the best shows of anyone. They are well paid, that's for sure, but they really rock!

Ergo, hopefully I'll feel better soon. I've rode Space Mountain and the rafter ride thing at DisneyWorld, and a bunch of others. I like a lot of them.

The dinosaur ride at DisneyWorld is one of those that goes along do-dee-do, in the dark, until "Oh, look it's a raptor!" right next to you. I rode it with one of my charges, who was about 9 at the time, and at the end of the ride you are thrown around on the track in the car, speeding along in the dark, until the car comes to a dead stop and you see you are under a VERY realistic life sized T-Rex who is lunging toward you and roaring. It stops about 3 inches from your head.

My charge grabbed me and buried his head in my chest and screamed like a little girl.

I nearly wet my pants.

It was fun!

Lol, hi ergo. Not only in the movie, but he's like that in the books too, only if you're not glued into the hype, you would think he was controlling. He tells Bella that he watches her while she's sleeping.

And that was when I decided to toss all the books into the garbage.

mayo,

to be honest, this week hasn't been the greatest -- work has been moderately crappy and i've been mired in that "am i getting anywhere or am i stuck?" feeling. i can fake it during the day for the most part (though i do find myself gritting my teeth behind the smile every time a new customer comes in), but in the evenings the grey discontent is difficult to ignore.

i know it will pass, i know i will find my optimism again. this has happened before, it will undoubtably happen again -- it really isn't anything much to write about.

it's just -- sometimes i am so damn far from the person i want to be, and i wonder if i will ever complete this transformation of mine or if the ghost of that stupid woman i was will forever drag at my heels, my own version of marley's chains.

and when i am feeling like i am right now, i have no defenses against the certainty that i will not, that ultimately, every purpose for which i was born will be rotted and wasted, the victim of my weak will.

so i'm giving up for the day, going to hand myself over to dreams and hope i don't oversleep in the morning so i can start the whole damn thing over again.

take care, and good night.

12:44 should follow betsy cronkite's example and not take things that don't need to be taken seriously
so seriously.

Walter, about Betsy's sense of humor: "Probably the most important single element that I found in my own marriage was a sense of humor. My wife had a delicious sense of humor, and I think I have an adequate one. The funny things Betsy did to me on an almost daily basis could fill up one of those old Sears, Roebuck catalogs. She just wouldn't take things seriously that didn't need to be taken seriously. It was tough for us to get together and try to solve a serious problem because humor would begin to creep in-which would save the day most of the time."

Mayo

Fred came over tonight to help me get some of my Internet work done and well, we ended up watching movies when we were done. So in keeping with the spirit of Halloween in July we watched two horror movies. Okay, well not really horror movies but let’s just say that is what they were supposed to be. First off was Creepshow III. Holy crap this was so bad it made me want to hurt the Blockbuster employee who sold it to me. What a turdburger. I loved Creepshow (meteor shit, Jordy) and Creepshow II was okay but this one? I want those 104 minutes of my life back.
The second movie was much better. Well I mean in the bad/good horror movie way. It was titled “Dead Above Ground.” This was so bad it was fun to watch. The bad guy had some great lines…

“You know the cause of grief is lost desire.”
“How could you possibly know how I feel when you exist two astral planes beneath me?”
and my fave line was “Malevolent entities don’t ask for photo ID”

This actually had some well-known actors in it (not sure what they were thinking). So if you’re ever in the mood for a terrible horror movie give it a shot.

Other than that my day was rather quiet. That is not of course counting the fact that one of my daughter’s phones butt called me. Yeah, for about 8 minutes I got to listen to her at a party. And yeah, that’s not where she said she was going to be. Nothing like busting a kid using her own phone call.

Well hope your day was a good one. Hope tomorrow finds you in great spirits and smiling a lot. Take care.

Night Mayo

Elena (Mayo, you are such a Baldwin*)

You can't carry it all on your shoulder's little one. Everyone needs a place to be honest. Pain is a part of us all, just like our memories, wishes, fears. We need all of it. It makes us human. It makes us real. It's hard right now, but he will always be with you. Look inside yourself paperdoll, he's there with you baby. You know he is. Hang in there. It just takes time. I missed seeing your name here. You know lots of people here care and are thinking of you, always. Nighty night<3

Honey you know we are here for you if you want to talk. And now for my mother voice "Stop drinking. It may help you to forget for a short time but you are a beaufiful, strong young woman and you don't need that shit."

Take care of yourself. Do it for you and for your brother. You know he would want you to.

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Well thats just nutz paper. ;p I know we are all busy and we all have shit that hurts us going on in our lives, and most of the time, we hold back from saying the stuff inside that really matters -cuz some of that important shit is scary. And it makes it even harder to live with it, when something fucked up happens, after you've admitted things. But kiddo, you know you have people here, at home -that love you. More than you will ever, ever be aware of. It's crap not being close enough to let the people you love in on that very fact every chance you get, especially if you have lost one of them. But deep down doll, people know. We know you care. And you must know we care.

Just as your brother knows you think of him. He thinks of you too J. People don't ever really leave us. They are with us. We just have to do our best to let go of the pain, so we can feel them still loving us. Still standing beside us. Ya know?

What are you up to tonight? You set anything on fire baby? ;p

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Hey Saintly, if ya still around. Hope you are good? (I type really fuckin slow. Sorry.)

elena said...

Hey Lewis

Just getting ready to go to bed. It's almost 3:30 am here. But I wanted to make sure Paperheart was okay.

Take care

Paperheart please e-mail me if you ever just wanna talk. I promise not to use my mama voice. Love ya honey.

elena said...

Oh and Lewis - call me soon, okay?

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Ah, I'm passing out myself. But promise to call as soon as I can. (Broken record there.) Have my cousins again now. No time at all and dogass tired (and I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds impressive yea?) when we don't have 'em! But I haven't forgot ya Saintly. ;p (And I'm sure I'm not the only one terribly fond of ya mama voice.) Love to ya.

Paper, you gone to bed too now? Sweet dreams doll. You know. Love ya.

Hope everyone is doing good. (Feel better L! Quick recovery Miss T!) Enjoy your weekend guys<33

I wish I could walk right up to heaven and bring him back to you, Paper. I really wish I could...

*huge hug*

Elena, Lewis and the anon are correct. He's still with you. He'll always be with you. I know you know that.

I also know believing/knowing that is not comfort enough on nights like tonight. When all you really want to do is see him in the flesh again; give him a big hug and tell him how much you miss him and how good it is to see him again...
to look into his eyes and see his excitement as you fill him in on all that's happening in your life. To share that understanding and loving gaze, to feel that understanding and protectiveness only a big brother can provide with one glance...

Just close your eyes, little one. You'll see him and you'll feel him.

Goodnight Paper, Mayo, SS, Elena, Lewis, anons and lurkers.

Sweet dreams to one and all.

Hugs and Love,

Hello Mayo, SS, Paper, Ergo, Amy, Sweetcheeks, L (and J), Lewis, Elena, TJ, everyone!

Are you all feeling better today and enjoying a wonderful weekend? I hope you are!

Guess what I have? Go ahead. Guess!

That's right! Another music link! Please feel free to click (or not) at will.

Sweetcheeks: You'll appreciate this one. It's The 69 Eyes' new video!!!

It goes quite well with all the vampire talk last night!

~Dead Girls Are Easy~

*Warning: If you are offended by scantily clad vamps/playboy bunnies (or videos directed by Bam Margera) please do not click the link above. Thank you.*

L: Regarding that picture of vampire Frank, all I can say is O_O
and... there has to be an explanation!

I know! He's been practicing playing guitar with his mouth/fangs. That or he's developed a taste for realistic looking candy guitar picks!

Elena: You did a wonderful job with those flower beds! You can come tackle my weeds if you want! I have plenty to keep you and Jake occupied.

Amy: How's your dad? Is he still a "house guest"?

Ergo: I like the new blue toy! What an engine!!!

That is all for now. Have a great whatever it is, wherever you are, everyone!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Wendy,

Dad is good, except that he fell of the deck at 5am on Monday morning. We had removed all the boards on the railing to stain them, and his chair was just a bit too close to the edge. He only bruised his ego, and he's going to be fine.

Bumming around until October, possibly later. Getting more houseguests all through August, so this should be exciting.

KOL anon said...

Hello, everyone.

I wanted to say thanks to Toujours for your kind words of a few days ago. They were very much appreciated.

And Lewis! You're a new fan! Yay! I'm going to be really annoying and tell you to go back and listen to some of their older records. Might I recommend Black Thumbnail or Charmer from Because of the Times or The Bucket and Four Kicks from Aha Shake Heartbreak? Good stuff. ^_^

Also, to OPL, thank you. Yes, the Followills do have a complicated relationship. I think deep down they love one another very much. It has been pointed out more than once by journalists that they always stand very close together onstage. When asked about that, Jared (who is usually a bit of a smart ass) remarked that they draw strength and comfort from one another because they're family. I think that's pretty cool.

I don't think Katie (KOL 2) has been getting any nasty emails lately, but she hasn't posted here in a while. I will tell her you asked about her.

Oh! And I'm from Tennessee too. ^_^

Now, for Wendy, something I'm sure you'll enjoy. I'm not sure this shirt should be legal. ^_^ Oh, and you get a really good look at Caleb's old Gibson in this video. May it Rest in Peace. :(

Hope you all have a good rest of the weekend.

:)

KOL anon: A gazillion thank yous for that one! I'm not sure that shirt should be legal either.

I'm not sure that video should be legal. It should at least come with a warning!

How about:

WARNING: Content may lead to over heating and/or spontaneous combustion, heart failure or the need for a long ~ cold ~ shower or ice bath (which may lead to hypothermia). View at your own risk.

Something like that!

He's looking extra sassy in that one. Looks like he learned some new dance moves! I love that shoulder shake and that hip twist!!! That adorable hand crawl too!!!!!

You (and KOL, of course) have just helped me reach my happy quota for the month (perhaps for the remainder of summer)!!!!

After watching the video ~ for the fourth time ~ I did learn that it helps to concentrate on the gorgeous, classic (late) Gibson.

Well, boys will be boys and he did apologize for his inability to control his temper that night!

It happens!

You're going see them on birthday in October? YAY for you and can I come?

one of my seattle friends is on a mini-book tour right now -- her web column of etiquette advice for goths has been turned into a book (yay, her!) and so she's posting tons of pics on her lj and twitter. it's got me all fired up to reinvestigate my own personal style. i've become pretty lazy over the years...housewifery for one, and now i seem to rely on my chuck taylors a little too much for flair. hmmm.
