At the Home

I hate to see you
When you're falling apart
Can't you start over, again?

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her chair
Keeps her windows shut
To keep out the air

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her bed
Spends all her pastime
Mulled in her dread

What keeps her living
Is her fear of being
Anywhere other than here
So they’ll feed her too much
Or it’s never enough,
Then it's fuck you
“Get the hell out of here!"

Elizabeth stumbles
Over everything I've said
Pining words are useless
Pushed round in her head

The mystery was my bravery
I never knew what I'd get
Will it be her fear or regret?
Her confusion my denial?
Walked her shoes a while
Now she can’t turn back
So she said then she’ll stay
And I will walk away

Elizabeth mumbles
Over and over my name
Forgetting tomorrow
Will never be the same

She’s repeating her beating
Did you bring her a drink?
Why are you leaving?
What the hell do you think?
That she’ll fuck you
To get the hell out of here

Elizabeth tumbles
Out onto the floor
With an abandon of reason
It is herself abhorred

She sat alone in her room
Pouring over her gloom
Never got out of her chair
And they don't even care
Now that they’ve all receded
Into the ground or fleeted
To the wormholes
And woodwork back there

You'll find repair
Where that memory
Becomes illusory

Look, again?

p.s. in the end it is what you think you will get.

Night TJ

Talk to you later, okay?

mayo,

you know, i've been sitting here thinking about what to put in my good night to you, staring off into space, my mind sorting through possibilities. but my day was pretty standard, the only stand-out moment this evening when we had a big ol' rainstorm suddenly roll in. my mom and i stood out under the eaves of the house and watched it come across the field, and catching the rising scent of the wet air, and then the wet walkway...well, that was wonderful. but do you really want to read another essay about how magical i find my surroundings? lol

there was one other thing that was neat about today, that has had me grinning off and on throughout. i wasn't going to write about it because it's pretty silly...but what the hey.

when i was teenager, i could only find out about what was going on with my favorite band through cheesy teen magazines and the band's own fan club newsletter. i didn't live in a metropolitan area, so i never heard about concerts until it was too late, and wouldn't have been able to go to them anyway.

being a fan back then was a mostly solitary thing, me and the music.

but, today -- holy moly! the internet really makes it so very, very different. and so today, thanks to my favorite band's website, i was able to know that they've started recording their next album. maybe that doesn't seem like much to write about, or maybe it seems way too fangirlish, but when i buy that cd and listen to that music, it won't be something that just exists in my head anymore, it will be anchored to my own memories of today, to chatting with my boss this morning, drinking the iced latte she brought me, to the rain tonight, to today's updates from the band, generously sharing their excitement for their new work.

it's so different, it's so immediate. it really is magical.

good night, mayo. i hope you always have lots of little happinesses to go along with the big ones, always have something in your life to make you smile.

Mayo

Holy crap I’m gone for a day and a half and there is three days worth of shit I need to do. Just how does that happen? And through it all I try so hard to concentrate on the tasks I need to do but my mind is wandering. Something is nagging at me, that little voice in my head is telling me that I’m overlooking something important. Fuck, I really wish that little voice would just buy a pack of post-it notes and write things down. Then I could just look at them and figure it all out instead of using the little bit of brain cells I have left trying to figure out just what the hell I’m missing. This isn’t making sense, is it? Well how the hell do you think I feel? Stupid little voice won’t leave me alone. What the hell did I forget? What is it that I’m missing? Okay to be honest this is one of those night I really wish you were sitting with me at a table drinking Starbucks coffee. Maybe you could listen to me ramble and figure out what is going on in my brain. Then again you might just roll your eyes after about ten minutes of listening to me ramble, throw up your hands and decide that no one on the face of the earth could figure out the way my mind works. But you know what? Deep down I have the silly belief that at least you would try to understand. That thought makes me smile.

So anyway, I still have tons of stuff to do and I need to get busy. My grandma would have said that I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off. That is not a pretty visual at all but that does describe me well tonight. Focus, Elena, focus.

Hope you are focused, Mayo. I hope you know where you are going in life and never doubt the path you’ve chosen. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.

Night Mayo

Hi Elena and Ergo!

Good night TJ!

Just stopping by - very tired - all of this hockey is getting to me.

And I am going sailing on Sat. as well as a party and I am having trouble keeping up with everything. Not missing the hockey tomorrow though. Should be a blast downtown.

Elena - How's your back?

MissT - It was my friend's ex. She was thinking of giving him another chance till that happened. When she went to pick up her things she caught him doing drugs, which would explain his erratic behavior.

I've known the guy for three years and had no clue. Not only that, but what he was doing was super hardcore. I only know about it because I spent twenty years growing up in Detroit and its hard not to notice when people sit on steps of abandoned houses and do it.

I am still pretty shocked.

Also. my guardian angels were working over time because someone was trying to drug my drink at the bar on Fri. night and all of my friends were rufied (sp) instead. My guy friends weren't returning my texts and it turns out they were extremely sick for days as a result. I was drinking water (having been out a LOT recently) and others' vodka tonics were spiked instead.

Anyway, shit happens. I am taking Cleo with me everywhere I go now. She struts through Detroit shouting about Eileen Wuornos (sp) shooting motherfuckers at the top of her voice and no one ever bothers us. YAY! Cleo!

Amy - MORE HOCKEY!!!! I could have gone to the game, or so a guy I'm not interested in told me, but I don't believe him. They lie all of the time trying to impress. I'm just saying! Anyway, so excited to be in Detroit for the event! I am hoping Fleury still has no clue how to field the puck on Detroit's ice and its possible my prayer will be answered. *fingers crossed for luck* Anyway it should be lots of fun. I hope you enjoy the game!

Wendy - How are you doing? I have a rear view mirror sort of attached to my car now. YAY me! Lol. A friend fixed it for me.

OK gotta go. Chores await and I am sooo tired.

Holdup! Wait a minute...

Mayo - How are you? Hope nothing bad happened! I know if you were going to leave forever-ever you would at least say goodbye and in a manner not so very cryptic. I have that faith. Hold in there, shit, if I can live through all of the above and not be so very cynical as a result (though it is difficult) I know you can deal with whatever it is you've got going on (though cynicism may come into play?)

Anyway, good luck to you all!

I wish I had more time to read here, but not so much lately. :(

6:20 a beautiful shot, thanks for sharing

Mayo
well I had a nice enough day, though it was cold. Yep it was down to at least 0C this morning, that is whatever F that water freezes, we had a light frost. Down south it was even colder, considering we are the "sunny tropics" it's a bit of a cold snap. We do get this cold but not usually this early in winter. Plus there was a wind so it felt colder again. But I got to wear my denim jacket, with lovely soft red scarf and my new red boots., So it had a plus. Though I didn't feel great I think I looked pretty good, lol and that has to count for something! Hope you're looking great and finding the best I whatever weather is around you
much love EP xx

SS
I can't remember if I posted this before, but I was watching it again and I know with your love of animals you'd have to enjoy it
extreme sheep herding. Amazing the amount of time you have when you're tending your flock. sheep fashion Samsung style.

Just dropping by to say I hope you're all doing good. It's hard to believe we are half way through 2009 already. Where does the time go?

Anonymous said...

Well the Porchies got butthurt acting like MJ wasn't entitled to her opinion over Kapu's grandmother.... and they all dropped off the blog all around the same time. Did anyone else notice that?? They probably have a secret blog where the rest of us (including YOU) are left out but at least they are not here anymore. Wasn't it nice of them to tell you where to find them? Yeah, us too.

OPL has been sick, did you read back?

Anonymous said...

Things change as time passes. This was to be expected.

Anonymous said...

And I think it is clear who is to blame.

Anonymous said...

There is no one to blame. Each person made their own choice. Would you want to be somewhere you aren't wanted?

Anonymous said...

I don't think the porchies left because they got "butthurt" I think they left because now this place is fucking boring.
'

Anonymous said...

Just face the facts that MJ was right. So was Amyranth with the Fix and the Guidelines and so was WENDY with her opinions.

THe sooner all of you get this through your thick skulls, the better you will feel about leaving for good.

Anonymous said...

Too bad Mayo seems to have left for good as well.

Anonymous said...

last i checked nobody said they were leaving the blog for good.

Anonymous said...

Just face the facts that MJ was right. So was Amyranth with the Fix and the Guidelines and so was WENDY with her opinions.

.

MJ was tactless and cruel, Amy was childish and selfish and wendy is a psycho.

Anonymous said...

They wonder why Mayo and SS never gave them any attention but when you see how 3:14 behaved, is it really any wonder? Mayo and SS used to join in the conversations, and talk about music, tv shows, plans for the weekend, childhood memories etc. How on earth are they supposed to get involved with childish comments like 3:14. It just turns them off. If he comes back and re-reads those comments it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't bother coming back at all. What is left here for either of them now? Unless they want to join in a convo bitching about the porchies, there is nothing here to stimulate their interest or entice them to join in any more.

Anonymous said...

4:58

Tactless, cruel, childish and psycho?

Pretty much sums you up.

Good job!

Anonymous said...

Coming out in defense of 4:58, how do you know what "sums up that person"? They made that one comment.

Anonymous said...

Uhhh going on the way Wendy has behaved over the last two or so years (as opposed to one anonymous comment to judge by) I have to say YES, she is psycho. Maybe not psycho but definitely messed up mentally, emotionally and takes it out on people she hates. She has a lot of anger, hate and she seems like she gets drunk and "snaps" sometimes.

OPJ too but not when she thinks it'll make her look bad in front of SS and she'll never get near him with that dildo.

Anonymous said...

Why do these anons feel the need to come on and start calling names and insulting people? What is the motive? What is their agenda?

Anonymous said...

Opinions. Like the rest of you have about each other. Like Wendy and Amyranth's opinion that Kapu is a cunt and the porchies are beyond pathetic.

Anonymous said...

And other people's opinions, about other people, interest you that much?

Lewis it's not that bad, honestly! And you put just a scrape on toast, if you spread it on thick it'd be too much.
I'll make you try it one day! (I sent some to elena, she was a bit bemused I think, most people wonder why we like it so much!

Linkin Park Anon, that is one awesome song! It sounds great, it looks great! Chester's voice sounds very strong on that one.

I also saw the Million Dollar Anon earlier. For you, a video and lyrics to sing along:

BNL "If I Had $1,000,000"~

If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a house (I would buy you a house)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you furniture for your house
(Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a K-Car (a nice Reliant automobile)
If I Had $1000000 I'd buy your love.

If I Had $1000000 I'd build a tree fort in our yard.
If I Had $1000000 You could help, it wouldn't be that hard.
If I Had $1000000 (Maybe we could put a little tiny fridge in there somwhere.)
We could just go up and hang out. (Open the fridge and stuff. There would be
food laid out for us, little pre-wrapped sausages and things.) Mmmm. (They have
pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon.) Can you blame
them? (Well, yeah!)

If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a fur coat (but not a real fur coat that's cruel)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you an exotic pet (Like a llama or an emu)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you John Merrick's remains (ooh all them crazy elephant bones)
If I Had $1000000 I'd buy your love

If I Had $1000000 We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I Had $1000000 We'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I Had $1000000 We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner.
But we would eat Kraft Dinner. Well of course we would we'd just eat more. And
buy all the fanciest ketchups for it...dijon ketchup! Mmmm..

If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a green dress (but not a real green dress that's cruel)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you some art (a Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a monkey (haven't you always wanted a monkey?)
If I Had $1000000 I'd buy your love

If I Had $1000000, If I Had $1000000
If I Had $1000000, If I Had $1000000
If I Had $1000000
I'd be rich.

Yay! Great song by a great band. Hope you check out more of their stuff.

Well, BC, it's good to see you regardless. I know what you mean, I'm not here like I used to be. I take spells. L's coming back on more, too; she's doing much better from the killer pneumonia. The fibromyalgia seems to be in a flare, though, so she's been hurting.

"Bring out yer dead!" *BONG* Love that movie, man, it rocks.

Oh crap I don't have SS's (wow that sounds like a snake) link on this computer but he liked the sheep, Ergo?

That is great. I loved them too.

Aw I hope L gets better soon J. And you too. I've been spending much of my time job searching, but it's been pretty much sucking because there doesn't seem to be a lot of places willing to hire. There's a car that I really think it's cute so I'm desperate to find employment lol.

elena said...

Anyone seen "Thirteen Ghosts"? It's the movie that is just coming on but I don't know anything about it.

ergoproxy said...

my brother told me about that video

ergoproxy said...

elena SS "added ...and the lizards...and the sheep" to his animal list

I haven't see it elena but I do recall the name, what is it about?

Original Punk J said...

Sorry, can't help you with that one Elena, never heard of it.

Bleeding Chaos said...

elena, i heard about it, but I heard it's not that good. I think it's about 13 ghosts who inhabit this old house that some group of people moves into and that the ghosts tries to kill them or something. I'm not sure.

elena said...

Well I guess it's about a guy who dies and leaves his collection of ghosts to his family.

So if he dies is he in the collection?

Anonymous said...

i love the sheep and the lizards too.

Original Punk J said...

Ladies, it's been smashing, but I'm really tired. So I will bid you all a 'buono notte' (I think that's right, check my accuracy BC!) and wobble off to bed.

Goodnight Elena, Ergo, BC, and Amy if/when you come back! Sleep well, everyone.

Oh, and goodnight Anon, I missed you there!

ergoproxy said...

hi 1:34

goodnight J sweet dreams

I just saw Dangerhand off on a pig hunt with his mate

elena that is a novel question
what if they didn't like being in his collection?

Original Punk J said...

Dear SS,

Not much more to add to my earlier note. Always great to see you; wish you had time to visit more often. But I know you're busy--that's your way--so I try to look at each visit as a small present. A very good present.

You take care of yourself, alright? If people or situations become too much to handle, back off, cool down, take deep breaths, and ignore the fuck out of them. Then scream when nobody can hear you.

And remember, I'm here if you need me.

Goodnight, baby. I love you.

My heart to yours, always.

elena said...

Goodnight J nice to see you here. Call me tomorrow if you get a chance.

OH and BC I just wanted to tell you how great it is to see you here too.

Hey Anon, how's it going?

toujours said...

mayo,

must be more tired than i thought, i'm falling asleep at the computer. oops.

i have to admit i think about you sometimes during the day, wondering what you're doing, hoping you're doing something that nourishes your spirit and makes your days satisfyingly full, rather than any less-happy alternative.

i forget sometimes just how long it is that we've been here, it still astounds me actually, and how something as ephemeral as this can bring people together and make them friends -- even if it is a modern, internet sort of pen pal friendship, i still think how happy i am to have met the people that write here, those i've met out in the world and those i've only met through words on the screen. like you, mayo.

good night, my friend. remember to take a quiet moment to breathe, to be still and be yourself without narration. it will re-energize you, i promise.

Bleeding Chaos said...

Thanks elena.

Goodnight J, sweet dreams.

elena said...

You know BC, I do miss you a lot when you go missing. I'm always happy to see you back here.

This is a strange movie. I'm not really sure what is going on.

But you have to put on special glasses to see the ghosts.

ergoproxy said...

really? special glasses, and they have them?
I always wanted to try those x-ray specs on the back of comic books, and sea monkeys

and I agree it is nice to have you around again BC

elena said...

Ergo I totally had sea monkeys.

elena said...

Okay I just have to say if someone wants to leave me something after they are gone....do not make it ghosts.

Besides I have enough of them already at my house.

ergoproxy said...

YOU DID???????

WOW!!!!!!

what were they like? I wanted them to be like the picture but they were little shrimp aren't they?

Bleeding Chaos said...

Aw I appreciate that elena, ergo. Thank you. It's good to talk to you guys again as well :)

Bleeding Chaos said...

Ohhhh. How many ghosts do you have in your house elena? That's really interesting.

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Sea monkey's are so the shit.

But you shouldn't eat them either. ;p And you'll have to hold me down to get me to eat that vegimuh Ergo! I DARE YOU! ..I bite, sometimes. I think you are right? Little shrimpies? Certainly looked like that to me? And seriously, if you let them dry out -they totally DIE. Gip!

elena said...

Ergo, Sea Monkeys are just brine shrimp. No hats, no crowns, just little tiny shrimp. Acutally one of the best cons ever. LOL

BC last count there are four ghosts in my house. One is John who killed himself here. One dead chick we don't know for sure who she is and two little girls but they are only outside in the yard. Even one of the neighbors saw them but they never appear in the house.

Bleeding Chaos said...

It's about time you came at the time I'm here Lewis. Ha! >:)

I'm doing well, thanks for asking. I'll send my many kisses to Bugsy for you! Goodnight and sweet dreams!

ergoproxy said...

I want then sitting cross legged in front of an undersea castle WITH DAMN CROWNS!!!!!!

it was a huge con, but weren't they all? lol

hi Lewis, oh you will, if you ever come over here it's compulsory, they hold you down at the airport ;]

your ghosts aren't difficult though are they elena?

Bleeding Chaos said...

Oh wow four ghosts? Are they harmless?

elena said...

John is a nice ghost. He lived here his whole life. I feel he sorta guards this place. All my girls and the hubby have seen him at various times.

As for the dead chick we don't know who she is. But she shows up in dreams to the hubby. In his dreams she is hanging in the upstairs bathroom. We have actually heard the bench she uses to hang herself fall over. It's creepy.

As for the little girls they are seen playing in the front yard.

ergoproxy said...

we have a ghost, there was a woman but a friend told me she senses a man, so maybe we have two
I've never seen them , but you get the feeling they are there, looking after us

Mayo

Well I wanted to tell you all about my day because it was a good one but I can't. Well not right now anyway. Okay let me Readers Digest Condense this for you - Went to lots of sales, found lots of great books, even found some cool tee-shirts (New London Fire and AlkalineTrio) It was a good day. So was I right? Did you have a great day? Not sure why I'm asking you because you aren't going to answer, I know. But that's okay, I'm all about the pretend. I'll pretend you answered and you said you had an outstanding day. Yep, the pretend world really ain't so bad. LOL

So my hope for you is that tomorrow is even better than today. Mayo, I know what I hope really doesn't make any difference but somehow I guess I always hope that me giving you my best wishes makes you smile. Crazy, isn't that? Oh well, that's okay. I've truly gotten in touch with my inner crazy.

Take care

Sometimes spiritual needs trump the physical.

Anyway, she always was a nervous person.

Morning!

9:25am,
Ha ha! Bloody weird isn't it? It's great being stop-start, rather than CG, too.

9:56am,
Oh I remember that one! Fine tellers of tall tales indeed. =)

9:30pm,
Thank you for the link! That was pretty cool. And OMG, I can see I'm going to be scared of giant toys.
Lamesville, here I come lol

4:29am,
Yes, that would hurt unbelievably, and I'm sorry that has happened to you. Your instincts may have let you down this time, but don't give up completely on people because of the action of one.
It's true you can trust in your own company, but it's bettter to learn to trust again - even just so as to avoid the Gollum effect.

Ergo,
lol Sunday tv viewing of sheep dog trials, on A Dog's Show, was never as exciting as that!
Get in behind, Floss!
*piercing whistle*
Come around, Jack!
*piercing whistle with extremely shrill end note*
That'll do.
*growly, extremely emotive celebration, by gumbooted farmer, as gate shuts on sheep*

*sigh*

*makes note to suggest use of LEDs next season*

It may be Wrong, but it's good.
Hope everyone is having a lazy sleep-in this morning, and if you're in the UK, an extra looong lazy sleep in. =)

Pickled Possum said...

Oh, that's another lovely one, 7:53. =)

7:53 very pretty

Mayo
I found a song for you tonight, I was reminded of it after seeing the guy on a tv show. His name is Frankie J Holden and sang in a band called Ol' 55 (the FJ Holden is a classic aussie car from the mid 50's) the band sang and dressed in 50's style and had a number of hits both original and remakes.
This is one of the remakes, originally by Kenny Vance and the Planotones, but I really like their version. The lyrics I think speak of what all of us really want to do, not necessary in music, but in life.
Hope you enjoy it

Looking for an Echo
At Daydream Junior High School, we used to harmonize
Me and Frankie and Jummy and two Italian guys
We were singing oldies, but they were newies then
And today when I play my old 45's, I remember when...

We'd practice in a subway, in a lobby or a hall
Crowded in a doorway, singing doo wops to the wall.
And if we went to a party and they wouldn't let us sing,
We'd lock ourselves in the bathroom, and nobody could get in.

'Cause we were looking for an echo, an answer to our sound
A place to be in harmony
A place we almost found.

And the girls would gather 'round us, and our heads would really swell.
We'd sing songs by the Moonglows, the Harptones, and the Dells.
And when we sang "Sincerely," we really sang it high.
Even though it was falsetto, we almost reached the sky.

We've sung a lot of changes since 1955.
And a lot of bad arrangements we've tried to harmonize.
Now we've turned into oldies, but we were newies then.
And today when I play my old 45's, I remember when...

We were looking for an echo, an answer to our sound
A place to be in harmony
A place we almost found.

Ol 55

much love EP xx

SS
well so glad you enjoyed the sheep, apparently it took them 8 days I think it said. It really is amazing the things people can achieve when they put their minds to it, some things maybe a bit more pointless and fun than others, but still pretty amazing none the less.
I gave Mayo a song and I will give one to you too, I have posted this before but it is still one of my favourites, and it always makes me happy, and it reminds me of how much wonderful stuff really is out there...never believe it's not so.

Pilot - Magic
Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning
Lazy day in bed
Music in my head
Crazy music playing in the morning light

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

I love my sunny day
Dream of far away
Dreaming on my pillow in the morning
Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning light

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

[Musical Interlude]

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

Hey everyone!

Going out for the day, but I'll be back on later tonight. Feeling a little better. Course, I say that now... :)

Miranth, I know what you are saying. My Mum is getting older and it's hard to see them getting weaker, though no less beautiful. I hope you and your Mum have better days ahead.

Ergo, so glad you are feeling better! Stomach flu can be nasty! Did Dangerhand and baby girl get it too?

Elena, hope Mr. Elena is feeling better too. Tell him your "imaginary friend" says get well soon.

TJ, don't go too wild with power today. We'd hate to have to come bail you out of jail!

Amyranth, how's it going? Have you pulled your hair out yet, or is the day coming? Hang in there!

Wendy, YUMMY! Maybe soon J. and I will join you in NOLA for some of those sweet treats and powerful coffee.

By the way, I got a bag of Dunkin Doughnuts Dark Roast coffee, and well, it just sucks, I have to say. No offense to DD drinkers, but give me my Starbucks Italian Roast anyday!

Fuckin piece of shit goddamn crappy fuckall shitter souless fucker packing tape dispenser, forged in the bowels of Mordor.
(Evil.)

Lewis, that was one of the greatest openings ever to a comment! Did you fling that tape dispenser back into Mt. Doom? That can be a bitch, can't they? It starts out simple enough, but 20 minutes later your taped to the table and ripping off skin to get untangled. Sheesh!

BC, hey, nice to see you! I hope you find someplace soon on your job hunt. What kind of car are you looking at? And give kisses to the bunny for me.

Possum, that video of Depeche Mode was really good. I love the song too. Hope you are doing good today!

Anon who left the Linkin Park song, thank you. Chester sounds amazing! And what a great bass line all through it. Fantastic song.

Anon at 4:29 a.m., I'm so sorry you were hurt. It is hard to trust someone completely, and it hurts like Hell when they break that trust. Don't shut your heart out. There are good people in the world, it just doesn't seem like it sometimes.

I always thought of it as a barbed wire heart. That when your heart is broken, you gather the pieces and wrap barbed wire around them to keep them whole. The wires remind you of the pain, and keep anyone from getting in. But when your heart is healed, fused together, you take the wire away, and only then can you start to let anyone in.

It may not be much for advice, and you probably aren't looking for any right now, but I hope you are ok.

SS, I hope the lizards you added are whole! Our neighbors cat seems to think that the half eaten ones, along with the bird I found yesterday, are the best presents she could give us in the whole world! I know to a cat that's the ultimate compliment, but still...

Thanks for checking in, it was really nice to hear from you. Oh, a CD recomendation for you. I got the new Rancid album yesterday, great as always. Check them out if you get a chance.

I hope I didn't miss anybody!

Have a great day, and I'll see you guys later tonight.

It'll be ok if you just STAY AWAY FROM THE TAPE DISPENSER!

Love ya,
L.

I need a new TV for my bedroom. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm leaning towards a Samsung, but the LG looks good too.
My old Mitsubishi TV has been a good one. I got it in 1986!

For about a month now, it has been a bit fuzzy and the screen flips every now and then. Of course, I've been putting off replacing it because of my financial situation. But, let me tell you something that happened yesterday...

As you know, I've been unemployed since last August. I transferred all my 401K stuff several months ago. On Thursday, I received something in the mail about some small withdrawals from my 401K account. I was pretty confused about that since I had transferred it all, right?

Well, yesterday, I received another letter and a CHECK! I thought it must be some kind of mistake! But it finally dawned on me that this is the end of the fiscal year, at which time the company I had worked for makes their yearly contribution!

Hallelujah! The check is enough to cover the cost of the new TV! I must somehow let my old boss know how thankful I am that the company is buying me a new TV! HaHa! It will chap his ass so bad!

Seriously, this guy would get so jealous over what other people had or vacations they were taking! Like he didn't think we deserved it or something! And yet, he bragged about everything he had or what great vacations he was taking! He was the king of one-up-manship! Such a jerk!

After a while, we all started trying to keep things to ourselves as much as we could. But, when we asked for vacation time, he would ask, "Where are you going?"

I can't even begin to tell you how life at work went for about a month after taking vacations! Extra work, more nit-picky corrections, etc. Not to mention that one year, after one of the nicest vacations I ever took, he gave me the worst evaluation I've ever had in my life! All because of his childish and jealous, conceited behavior!

This is the same guy that when we were all talking about how we wished our raises could be more (even him), he looked at me and said, "Why would you need more? You live with your parents!" WTF??!! I said "And I'll have to continue to live with my parents under these circumstances!"

And I stayed in that job for over 10 years!

Whew! I wrote a book! Sorry!

Gonna go shop for TVs now! Weeeeee!

elena hello!!! how is your patient today? Hope he feels better.

Lewis evil dispensers must die, but only after you finish needing them, I got a great chunk out of two fingers from an evil dispenser when I was working, hurt for weeks!!

Amyranth said...

Hey guys!

Just a stop in, Dad and I are mudding and taping that bedroom that we built 2 years ago. It's actually kinda fun.

Mira, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's injury, nothing worse than watching a strong person get weaker.

Ergo! Feeling better, yes?

Mya, I agree with Elena, if your throat is really bothering you that much, even stopping by the ER could get you seen to have a prescription re-written right? My mother always swore by salty, warm water to gargle with whenever she got a sore throat, maybe you could try that?

Elena, how was your trip?

Lewis, what are you busting open on the sidealk? And would you prefer a hammer maybe?

Mayonaise, SS? Is it nice and sunny where you are too? Go have a cold drink on a hot deck for me. Hopefully you're not covered in mud and drywall tape bits. :D

See you guys later!

If my life were a newspaper it would be 3 sections. Sports, money matters and obituaries. the first 2 consume my life that other reminds me that i need one.

A bit of wisdom from a friend of mine, a high school gym teacher.

Poor Ergo!!

You can come here. Teletoon Retro is running an all-day Transformers Marathon, the boys have had it on since 7am this morning.

Oh that sounds much better!

she is now on to Gladiators though, at least I have washing and stuff to do!

Hubby should be home from his all night pig hunting trip soon
he's going to need some sleep, has to go out to a mine site tomorrow
but I have made an excellent pea and ham soup for dinner, nothing like it to warm the cockles ;]

Mmmm, Ham and Pea soup!

It was that chilly here last week that I made Chicken Stew, in JUNE, and it lasted 3 days. Nobody wanted anything else because it was so cold. But now we're back to grilling on the BBQ.

Oh, by the way, I meant to ask you, if you buy Mozzarella cheese, and it's a little too firm, there's no real way to rehydrate it, is there? I bought a block of cheese to make poutine with, and it's just not soft enough, it's almost like it's not flavourful enough either...

ergoproxy said...

not really amy, some mass produced mozzarella is a lot harder and blander than the proper stuff, it is probably the brand, you could try using it grated, if that works with poutine, otherwise I'd buy the stuff in brine next time, it's sometimes a bit dearer but it's a lot nicer.
