At the Home

I hate to see you
When you're falling apart
Can't you start over, again?

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her chair
Keeps her windows shut
To keep out the air

Elizabeth crumbles
Alone in her bed
Spends all her pastime
Mulled in her dread

What keeps her living
Is her fear of being
Anywhere other than here
So they’ll feed her too much
Or it’s never enough,
Then it's fuck you
“Get the hell out of here!"

Elizabeth stumbles
Over everything I've said
Pining words are useless
Pushed round in her head

The mystery was my bravery
I never knew what I'd get
Will it be her fear or regret?
Her confusion my denial?
Walked her shoes a while
Now she can’t turn back
So she said then she’ll stay
And I will walk away

Elizabeth mumbles
Over and over my name
Forgetting tomorrow
Will never be the same

She’s repeating her beating
Did you bring her a drink?
Why are you leaving?
What the hell do you think?
That she’ll fuck you
To get the hell out of here

Elizabeth tumbles
Out onto the floor
With an abandon of reason
It is herself abhorred

She sat alone in her room
Pouring over her gloom
Never got out of her chair
And they don't even care
Now that they’ve all receded
Into the ground or fleeted
To the wormholes
And woodwork back there

You'll find repair
Where that memory
Becomes illusory

Look, again?

p.s. in the end it is what you think you will get.

I can't get that song out of my head!!!

I know why. Yesterday I found a very old "Clue" game. I had no idea how long that game has been around. The one I got is from 1949

So anyway, it made me think of the movie and of course the song.

Love that movie!

Bees collect nectar to make honey.

Amyranth said...

Hooray for bees!

Also, it's not true that bumblebees do not have the aerodynamics to fly.
The "power of their own arrogance" quote is untrue, but it sure makes a little thing like a bee seem that much stronger!

Hallo Elena! No, the weather hasn't been good. We got rainy snow on Friday, and snowy rain on Saturday. Now we're just getting smats and patters of rain, but of course the only plants affected in the yard are the expensive ones. The crabgrass would probably survive a Nuclear Holocaust.

elena said...

snowy rain? Crap, it's near 90 here today. Lots of rain and storms last night. Now it's just hot.

Amyranth said...

A day of "just hot" wouldn't be a bad thing around here. According to the Weatherman, we're on board for one of the coolest Junes in years. :P

The rain will be good for the garden, but the sun isn't a bad thing either, Mother Nature!

How's the comic collecting coming?

elena said...

Sorry Amy I keep wandering away. Actually the comic collecting is what's making me stray. I've been working on comic listings.

Amyranth said...

Right on.

I've been wandering too, I just started watching clips from The Untalkative Bunny. I love that show.

elena said...

I've never heard of that show. What's it about?

Amyranth said...

It's a series of 5 minute shorts about a yellow bunny that doesn't talk, but still interacts with his surroundings and other characters.

They play a lot of Jazz and Bossa Nova as the sound track, I personally really enjoy it. If you look it up on youtube you can catch a couple of episodes. There's quite a few of them from what I understand

elena said...

I'll have to check that out. Sounds good.

Do you like Wallace and Gromit?

Amyranth said...

I'll be honest, I've never seen Wallace and Gromit before. I've really liked other shows from the UK, like the stop-motion Paddington Bear, and Postman Pat though.

Mayo

This is the second time I've written this goodnight. I had just finished the first when I realized it was unnecessary. What I had to say to you, while important, didn't need to be said. It is my belief that the words I intended to say should remain silent. Not because they weren't important but because I believe in my heart you already know them.

This place started out as a gathering but slowly became a game. Not to all but to some. And you my friend are the dungeon master. Yes, you really are. I on the other hand am simply just a lowly player. I didn't plan on playing a part but yet I did. But I refuse to accept that. I could go all cryptic but I choose not to. And yes as I write this I do see the irony. I'm talking to the King of Cryptic. And yet, cryptic as you can be I've always felt I understood you. I still do feel that way.

The game is still being played but it is my belief you see that. I have faith that you do.

So I will continue as I've done from the beginning. I will come here, talk to those you inhabit these halls, and I will speak to you as my friend. All because I have faith.

Night Mayo

hello everyone!

elena's good night (though surely, it's early for that?) is a lovely thing to read upong getting here. pactum serva. :)

as was g'nite's poetry selection from last night. caught my eye because it seems out of season, but i found it really touching. it reminded me of the comfort of piled leaves, and of missing (and missed) friends. thank you, g'nite.

so, what's up?

ergoproxy said...

Hi TJ!

Elena has a beautiful way with words doesn't she

Original Punk J said...

I'm sort of here, Ergo. :)

How are you ladies tonight, you and TJ? I'm assuming Elena took a pass on hanging around.

TJ, yet another new word: UPONG. THey're getting better!

toujours said...

hi ergo, she does. :)

hi j. -- oh no! it looks like my typing skills are still being a little subverted, aren't they?

lol

ergoproxy said...

upong!I didn't even notice that!

I'm pretty good thanks J, I feel very lazy today though so I'm just bludging about

how are you?
any more packing done?

Original Punk J said...

I had great intentions of packing, Ergo, but...I was reading earlier, and fell asleep, and that was the end of the packing idea. So, maybe tomorrow after Mom and I get back.

ergoproxy said...

I'm like that, I always fully have intentions, I just get distracted so easily along the way

Original Punk J said...

And it's worse b/c I don't want to do it. Who I THINK is gonna do it, I don't know, but obviously I'm not who I had in mind!

ergoproxy said...

hahaha
that is always the worst, knowing it has to be done, and really not wanting to.
I always feel overwhelmed, like I don't really know where to start, and it seems like such a big job, and it's boring, that I'll find something else to do.

When are you due to move?

Have you been admiring your art TJ, do you ahve somewhere to display it?

toujours said...

j., just don't follow my example and leave it all until the last weekend! *yeesh*

ergo, for now, i just have the paintings resting against the wall in the guest room where i stay. they need to be framed, but i didn't want to put them away. :)

Original Punk J said...

Actual moving day is up in the air. The manager told us she wanted to "do some things" to the new place first. She said "at least" the middle of June. But they have to find a moving company, and get all that scheduled. We MAY be out of here by July, but who knows. There's no big rush b/c this unit's going to be demolished after we're out.

ergoproxy said...

they are too nice to pack away, have you thought of the frame type? You'd need something fairly simple so as not to detract from the art would you have a mat around them as well or just a frame?

J as long as it doesn't get worse before you get out!
Not having a date would make it harder to get motivated too

toujours said...

i think a frame that is almost invisible, because i like the way they look right now, ergo. i was wondering if there might be narrow bamboo frames out there somewhere...

Original Punk J said...

Is there a framing shop in town, or close by, TJ?

Ergo, I just want it over with, I'm really over moving. This one will be my ninth since I left home in '89.

ergoproxy said...

I hate moving, though I have only really moved twice, the first time was before we were married and hadn't accumulated so much stuff, I would dread doing it now

TJ I agree, it would need a very minimal frame, I haven't ever really seen bamboo frames readily available, it'd likely need to be specially made, so talk to a good framer, however you can get glass fronted frames that clip together, leaving very little visible. I'd say scope out some framers and see what sort of thing they offer and what sort of price you'd be looking at, framing isn't cheap

Original Punk J said...

Ergo, TJ, I have to get up early tomorrow to take Mom to her appt, so I'm off to bed. Hope you have a good day/night/whatever, and I'll talk to you tomorrow night.

Goodnight Mayo, have a good one.

Dear SS,

What are you reading right now? I'm reading a Jeffery Deaver novel called The Twelfth Card. It's another of his novels that features Lincoln Rhyme from The Bone Collector. These books are so fascinating to me b/c they get into such forensic detail. They're truly stories to make you think. Try one out if you like that kind of thing.

What did you think of that Offspring song? I love them, they make a point even in a "silly" kind of song. Their song "Gone Away" is one I play in memory of my dad.

Off again I go, but I'll talk to you when I get back.

Goodnight, Precious. I love you.

mayo,

full moon tonight, so i went outside to hang out and watch her rise above the treetops. it was that time of day when the sun has set, but the sky still holds a memory of the day's color. there was one star, high overhead.

the fireflies were making up for the lack, though. the field was glittering with them. i walked down the drive a little, admiring their display (still so magical to me, who grew up without them) and then, on a whim, sat down on the paved driveway. the road was warm from the day's heat; it felt so cozy.

i could actually feel the transition from day to night as i sat there. the light was already gone, even though it wasn't dark yet, and suddenly the scent of the woods was on the air, cool and green and sweet. a moment later, a whippoorwill began to call.

it was an intensely quiet moment. it was prayerful, a moment when you feel securely rooted and free all at the same time. it was a gift, moments like that always are.

and you were there with me, too. i was watching the night rise and knew i would be sharing it with you here, and so saw it for both of us, saw it as a writer so i could give it to you now.

even now, after so much time, that is one of the wonderful things about this blog.

good night, mayo.

ergoproxy said...

hey TJ
banana plants put up suckers beside them, that will grow into a new plant. You have to remove some suckers as they take energy from the parent plant, but you usually have one full grown, one half the size and one small sucker per clump. The plant dies after it fruits so they next one takes over.
Bananas aren't "trees" as they have no trunk they grow from the base, the stem is tightly wound leaves and the flower grows up through the centre from the base.
So to get new types of bananas you need to get suckers off someone else. Which is what we did

lol and here endeth the 1st lecture of "Banana 101"

take care & sweet dreams

The New York Dolls were WOW; just WOW!!!! In fact, the entire night was WOW!!!!!! Wasn't that full moon absolutely gorgeous? Wasn't everything just absolutely gorgeous? I think it was!

I just don't know what else to say but WOW!

I do have pictures and videos. I shall work on uploading those after I get a few hours of sleep.

I'm exhausted! I did quite a bit of dancing at the Dungeon... after, afterwards.

Ergo: I told you I would behave and I did. No articles of clothing came off! I promise!

*hopes those 'house' videos don't end up on youtube*

:P

I would just like to add, I think people are so funny. In a wonderful, beautiful sort of way.

And, I'm going to Washington in a couple of weeks. I just don't remember what Washington I'm going to. One of them... DC or state. Eh, who cares? I can use another vacation!

Mayo, SS, Ergo, Amy, Elena, everyone... I hope you're all well and I hope you all had/have a wonderful night!

Dear SS,

Well, Mom's appt went very well today. The neurologist said he could either give her a new med that she'd take as a maintenance med, or she could have the CT scan to find out if anything's there. She opted for the scan, since that's what she had planned all along. It went well, and the tech seemed pleased with the results. But of course the dr has to read it and then he'll make the diagnosis, if any.

And miracle of miracles, we actually got along today! All six hours we were together!

Must be some kind of record. O_o

You remember I told you I sent a mix CD to a friend of mine? Well, this is one of the songs that's on it. Thought you might like it too.

Matthew Sweet "Where You Get Love"~

This is another one of my favorites by him, same album as "WYGL". Matthew Sweet "Come to California"~

*Maybe GWay watched this video last year; it has a chimp in it. Just sayin.

So there's some tunes for you to listen to, hope you enjoy them!

Goodnight, baby. I love you.

it's all thunderstormy right now, but this afternoon it was sunny and warm and lovely. i finished up all my to-do's, had my shower, and then couldn't resist any longer; i had to spend some time outside.

i was outside all afternoon, just hanging out, watching the green world, writing a little, texting with elena. it was such a good way to spend an afternoon, and i didn't want to go in when the folks made dinner, so i took my plate back outside and made a picnic of it.

the sun was in my hair and on my skin, and i felt like i had re-established my place in the world just by seeing how big the sky is and how the light walked through the woods.

i know it probably seems like i write about my environment a lot, i'm always going on about the trees and the stars and what have you in my good nights to you. it's not just that i think they're beautiful and magical, not just that they're my default topic, it's that they really do give me so much. fresh air and the rustling sound of green leaves is the surest mood-altering medicine i've ever had.

back in college, i would get so closed in on myself, and i learned to escape the cannibalistic circling of my thoughts by leaving my room and just walking across campus to the library. at first i thought it was the library that made me feel better, and i'm sure that was a part of it, but it really was just changing the air in my lungs, and looking at the sky, and feeling the breeze or the snow or the rain...

because i get stuck in my head too much, and being outside puts me back in my body. it's so easy for me to live an interior life, on so many levels, that balancing it is crucial.

plus, you know, pagan, and all that. *grin*

good night, mayo. i hope you're finding magic and renewal all around you, too, in whatever it is that balances out your interior self.

Victorian novelist Edward Bulwer-Lytton, in the beginning of his 1830 novel Paul Clifford.

"It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents, except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness."

I always wondered about "it was a dark and stormy night"

Here it is a dark and stormy day. Storms seem to be here for the next couple of days.

Hope everyone is having a good day, with or without storms.

Hey gang, everybody good?? Just wanted to let Saintly and OPL know I am without internet at home (sad), but as soon as that is fuckin, er, "fixed" (um, aka:paid for!) I will check in properly as promised! Not forgot! And Ergo, still no building to move too or the money to do so. But our one little supporter is still game to sponsor a few kids. So we still have a future as far as that goes! And that is something! ;p Right? Right!? (Shit, I hope so!) Will let ya know if anything gets better than that. <3

Awesome to read the quotes, see the pics and stormy nights guys! (Hope that stays.) And Ray Bradbury is so The Man, just sayin. I really like those quotes 1:00/1:04. So need the thought of that, right now! Hope everyone is doing well. Mayo, you in on that Yo?? Just curious. Love to you guys, miss ya, be well<33

good morning :[

I am not well. I think I have a tummy bug, but I haven't eaten anything so it's just making me feel very uncomfortable and blah.....

ergoproxy said...

lol elena, I like how you are waiting for me in the mornings
it got me smiling :]

elena said...

Sorry you're under the weather, Ergo.

Put something warm in your tummy and see if that helps.

ergoproxy said...

I had some coffee, and I don't feel too bad, now I'm awake and up it's just annoying but it was bad trying to sleep last night

I have titoring this morning too, at least it's easy, and she gives me tea

elena said...

Try to take it easy, Ergo. Can't have you getting sick.

I'm at work and very, very bored. I kept looking at the clock waiting for you to get up. LOL

ergoproxy said...

haha you know my schedule, I had a little sleep in this morning too

how much longer do you have till closing?

elena said...

Just about 40 minutes. Then I have to go home and pack. Fred and I are leaving on a book buying trip in the morning. I hope it goes well but a couple of the places we are heading were hit by tornados the other night.

ergoproxy said...

oh dear I hope it goes ok too

will you be about later on a bit?
I am off now but will be back in about 3 or so hours

hope to catch you if not have a great ,safe, trip

and hi to Fred

elena said...

Hope you feel better. I'll be around. Talk to ya then.

Hi Elena, in case I don't talk to you later, hope you and Fred have a safe, enjoyable trip for bookbuying!

Hey Ergo, sorry to hear about your tum. I know you're going to hate to hear this, but coffee's actually one thing you should avoid with an upset tum...but you probably already knew that...have some soup and crackers, whatever's bland. Hope you feel better.

Hi Lewis, L's been wondering where you were! Having no internet sucks; I was without while she was in the hospital, but it turned out ok cause I could come home and veg, and not "stress" over other things. Hope you're well, too!

L might be on tonight, so for now I'LL say hello and goodnight and take care!

;)

Have fun ladies and anons!

elena said...

Hi Mya

My back is better. Thanks for asking. How are you?

elena said...

For Sandy Ann

Very Tired Jake

ergoproxy said...

hello!

I don't feel too bad ,thanks everyone, though I am very tired

my friend made me toast with vegemite and tea while I tutored :]

J I know I shouldn't have coffee, but it was nice and hot, lol
apparently this is a viral thing going around too, a man my friend knows had it and doctor told him it just has to run it's course. I'd just like to have a decent nights sleep again!

elena jake does look exhausted

hi wendy

hi miranth

hi mya

elena said...

Ergo you're back!

Do you feel as tired as Jake?

ergoproxy said...

I think I just about do elena
I could happily flop in a sunny spot and ignore everything

elena said...

Then that's what you should do Ergo. Just find a nice sunny spot and relax. Sunshine is great medicine.

ergoproxy said...

well I am watching a show on the Shroud of Turin, near the sun. It's a bit hot actually in the sun

how long is your book trip for?

elena said...

Just a couple of days. Actually tomorrow night we are going to stay at the casino, free rooms you know. LOL

Then the next day we are going to head out towards Jamesport. It's an Amish town.

ergoproxy said...

you and the casino! lol

are Amish towns really like you see on TV? Are they friendly places? They look like they'd be more polite, friendlier and all with that style of values,

elena said...

The Amish are very polite and reserved. IT's a lovely little town

1:49am, thank you, it comes from being oddly lent.

Elena, Safe travels.

elena said...

Thank you anon.

ergoproxy said...

I though it would be, that is nicer than the rushed, depersonalised cities

hi anon

elena said...

Oh yes, Ergo. And it's so neat to see all the horse drawn carriages.

I'll take lots of pics to post.

toujours said...

*front door swings opens with a rush*

i can't believe i actually made it!

something's going on with the computer or the connection or i don't even know what, but it was dicey getting online tonight.

but at last: hi everyone. :)

Amyranth said...

Okay, Hiya girls! I'm not on for long because I'm supposed to be helping Dad with drywall, but there's this huge spider that came out from behind the wall and we're both kinda icked out..

elena said...

Hi TJ

Hi Amy

Good to see you guys. Amy what kind of spider?

ergoproxy said...

oh great I'd love to see them

you well anon?

ergoproxy said...

hi TJ

hello AMy

big spider would stop me working too!

Amyranth said...

Hiya Elena, Ergo and Teej!

Elena, I think it's from the Genus Drywallidae, Family Hugeamongousae.

:S

Amyranth said...

Alright, I gotta run now, The spider is gone and Dad is hinkey.

Gotta go, I'll be by tomorrow!

toujours said...

hi elena, ergo, and amyranth.

the spider is probably more afraid of you than you it, amyranth.

elena said...

Be careful Amy. Take care

Ergo Jamesport is Missouri's largest Amish community. I will have to send you some of their homemade noodles.

ergoproxy said...

*ears prick up*
home made noodles? ooooh

Drywallidae scaramywithhairylegsii

elena said...

Yep best homemade noodles ever. The town is full of Amish shops and English shops (that's the rest of us who aren't Amish) They have all sorts of wonderful homemade foods.

ergoproxy said...

that's why I love all the towns over here, outside of the cities further you get away the more it goes back to home-made stuff, roadside fruit stalls etc and really friendly people

elena said...

I just hope there was no serious damage because Jamesport is the area that had the bad storms the ohter night.

elena said...

TJ

Where did you go????

ergoproxy said...

I hope so too, I saw on our news they got video of inside a tornado, there is some big study going on this season over there

toujours said...

lol i'm still here, i just have nothing to add to the conversation.

elena said...

Well then change the conversation, TJ

What do you want to talk about?

toujours said...

i didn't mind just reading along, elena. i don't really have anything to talk about. tonight kinda sucks.

it's just nice being here.

elena said...

I know what you mean, TJ.

I really do.

toujours said...

thanks, elena.

so what kind of books are you hoping to find?

ergoproxy said...

did you see my Banana 101 TJ?

ergoproxy said...

whoa! I didn't even notice that!!

*happy dance*

*with bananas*

mya said...

Hi, Guys!

Wow! Wendy's videos look great! She does a good job!

elena said...

Anything that is interesting or will sell. Okay to be honest I like "interesting" better but if I don't find some to sell then I can't afford "interesting" LOL

Right now I'm drinking Starbucks Verona, life is good.

Did you get the book I sent yet?

elena said...

Ergo

You used The Force, didn't you?

Hey Mya

mya said...

Glad to hear your back is better, Elena!

Oh you know, he's off being Mayo.

I'm just trying to decide if I'll want to hug him or smack him when he finds his way home.
