The wrong way...

Drill Bit

Tuesday I hear it’s going around;
I’m off...again, knuckled white.
Wednesday I will talk myself into
Round about routes to denial.
If I say it, then it won’t come true.
And, I find comfortable restraint; bound to
Repeating it over and over and over. And again,
It feels better that way, medicated meditation.
Then Thursday everything is white. I eat
From a bland full service spectrum buffet,
Plated and nothing touches.
I won’t even sip from her cup.
By Friday I am unable to tolerate human contact.
And, I count back to the last
In order to find spared time. I’ll be free-
On Saturday what is in the air will kill me.
So, I hold my breath between rooms. Suffocated,
Sunday I become completely restricted.
I will not accept from anyone, anything
That has been anywhere other than here.
Those days, they wear me hard
And to the end, so I have become
Exhausted from the fight. I finally sleep.
Then Monday brings me back, slightly.
With a negligent handshake,
So that again Tuesday I am found,
Wringing dry, anticeptic hands.
I will not allow myself to open a door
I stay; refusal and restraint, withholding.

p.s. its got quite a grip.

Hey elena

toujours said...

sorry. *contrite*

i spent my weekend just puttering around, bc. it was nice.

Anonymous said...

That's good to hear TJ

elena said...

Hey BC

TJ are you liking your job?

J thank you and L so much for the lovely gift.

Yep St Jude fits me.

Anonymous said...

Kate Winslet best actress.
Sean Penn best actor. Boo. Mickey Rourke or Brad Pitt should have won.

toujours said...

i am liking it, elena. it's surprisingly fun. :)

Amyranth said...

I thought you were St Elena?

toujours said...

sean penn in what role, anon? i haven't been keeping up...

Ergo is on top again....

ergoproxy said...

Hi amy!

oh thanks for the update anon, I'm glad Kate Winslet won, she is a damn fine actress
the guys, I haven't seen any of their work this year

Carrie said...

Aw man, I got spoilt, I was behind on my dvr. And Sean Penn for Milk.

toujours said...

oh, that's awesome, carrie! (the bit about sean penn) i haven't had a chnace to see "milk" yet, but i so want to. congratulations to mr. penn.

Anonymous said...

Hey carrie, amy

Carrie said...

I must say, his speech was good, I have a soft spot for him, mainly for his younger roles. And Ooh, he just blasted the Prop 8 pro voters, well, 10 minutes ago. :)

ergoproxy said...

hello Carrie!

Carrie said...

Hey BC!

elena said...

Glad to hear that TJ!

Hey Amy - Yep I'm Saint Elena who gets back up from St Jude - patron saint of lost causes

Original Punk J said...

Elena, I'm so glad to hear you liked it! L said that when she realized St Jude was the patron saint of difficult causes, she thought, "PERFECT! *Elena* gets this one!" *hugs*

Amy, have you gotten a package yet from us? If not, there's one coming.

TJ, what kind of job are you doing?

Amyranth said...

I'm glad Heath won for DK, especially after getting to see it last night. He did a great job, but it's sad to think that he'd essentially died for that movie.

elena said...

Hey Carrie

Good to see you

Carrie said...

Amy, I am sooo with you on that. We watched it a couple weeks ago, and I was thinking the same thing the whole time, well when the TwoFace makeup wasn't giving me the heebie jeebies.

Amyranth said...

*aheam*

I'm probably one of the few people who knows this but St Gerard is the Patron Saint of Pregnant Women.

Seriously. Google it. My dad has a St Gerard medal.

toujours said...

j., i'm working for a company that does fire and water restoration work on houses. there's a ton of work for them right now, what with all the smoke and soot damage from the recent storm. lots of kerosene heaters were being used.

Carrie said...

Hey Elena! Did you see me being jealous of your comics last night?

elena said...

J

The nuns always told us it was patron saint of lost causes..

Oh yeah, that's me

Amyranth said...

!!!

Carrie, that Two-Face makeup was something ELSE wasn't it?

God, that was worse than any zombie I've ever seen.

Original Punk J said...

L says HI to everyone and hopes you're all doing well!

She wanted me to ask you, Elena, if the lightsaber you got for Christmas that one time was an FX one?

*And here's my plug for her blog: L wrote a memorial piece on Hunter Thompson this past Friday. It's really good, if anyone would like to wander over and read it. Hint hint.*

ergoproxy said...

I really have to see Dark Knight

Carrie said...

Yeah, a kerosene heater took out some of my favorite people, my poor dead gay ex boyfriend's mom and brother. Which, if you peeps get on FB, you can actually see a pic of the PDGEB in all his dancing 80's glory.

elena said...

Uh Amy

I knew that about St Gerard. Seriously Catholic school almost my entire school years...LOL

Yeah I did see that Carrie. I love those comics so much

Amyranth said...

*waves her hand*

I read it L!

I haven't read anything by Hunter though, so I didn't have anything to say. :P

ergoproxy said...

hi L!

Amyranth said...

Elena, good. I mentioned that to my cousin a few years ago, and she thought I was lying. That was before I knew who MCR really were though. She was a huge fan, and I'm a bastion of useless information.

Carrie said...

Ergo, you totally do!! It was good. And yeah, Amy, it was just ewww, but in a really impressive way. And yay! Slumdog Millionaire won!

elena said...

*waves to L*

My lightsaber is just a cheap one

I really want one of those they sell at Sharper Image

Carrie said...

OOhhhh! They are showing previews of upcoming movies as the Oscars credits roll, and I am getting excited!

Original Punk J said...

Ahhh, difficult cases, lost causes, all about the same thing, ain't it? ;D

Now, the St Gerard info is interesting. Kind of sounds like "St Bernard", a little.

*J is glad she's Presbyterian instead of Catholic*

ergoproxy said...

oh sweet! PDGEB certainly had the 80's groove going on

Amyranth said...

Elena, is that the ForceFX ones?

Mister's got one and they're really worth the money, they take a good beating.

Carrie said...

Ergo, he soooo did.

Anonymous said...

Hi all.
:)

elena said...

Oh I didn't tell you guys but I thought this was sweet..

Last week Flighty went to a movie and they showed a preview for Watchmen. It was really long and Gerard was in it. Flightly left the theatre and went outside to call me and tell me she's just seen Gerard and all her college friends went out with her because they didn't believe her when she said that her mom liked MCR so she put me on speaker and I had to confirm that fact. Then they all said that I was pretty cool.

ergoproxy said...

My Birthday is St Bartholomew's day

elena said...

I think so Amy

Hey Anon

ergoproxy said...

St. Bartholomew is the patron of Armenia, cheese merchants, tanners, plasterers, and he is invoked to cure nervous tics.

well there you go, never knew who he was, but maybe why I like cheese!

Carrie said...

Elena that is sweet, I'm glad you got your props! A girl I worked with was in total awe that I even knew who The Used was, plus she didn't even know the Shallow Believer EP existed. I like to surprise the youngsters, it's fun.

Carrie said...

And hey anon!

elena said...

Yep Carrie I thought it was pretty cool her friends thought that.

Damn it I am cool LOL

Original Punk J said...

My favorite part is:

O_o

Oh my cow. There's a Saint for that?

But the cheese connection...that's spooky...

Hello Anon with the Smiley Face! How are you?

Carrie said...

Night Tj! Tell us what you find tomorrow, your job sounds hella cool.

Original Punk J said...

Goodnight TJ, have a good day tomorrow at your new job that you like despite its being something you've never done before! Or, something like that. Yeah.

Original Punk J said...

Ergo, I think Elena might need to invoke him, considering the twitching inflicted on her by her children...

Carrie said...

I must follow TJ's lead and toddle off myself. It was nice chitty chatting to all you guys. Hope you have a good night, or day, depending on your global position. And Ergo, you were sooo working that perm in the Pepe le Pew pic. HOT!

mayo,

back to work tomorrow. (i like being able to say that. *grin*) i hope i'll be able to keep this job for the duration of my kentucky stay, but once the ice storm jobs are done, they may not need the extra workers.

still, it's probably two months' worth of employment, and it has unexpected perks. see, it's not just cleaning, it's detailed deep cleaning. soot gets everywhere, and so we have to, as well. my first day at this current house i did nothing but clean the hall closet -- empty a shelf, wash the shelf and walls, then wipe down every item and put it back. every individual item. it can be tedious.

after the closet, i moved on to the second grader's room. oh man, that kid has got a lot of toys -- i've been cleaning his room for two days now, and i'll be back in there again tomorrow.

but here's where the perk comes in: while i'm standing there, wiping down books and cars and puzzle pieces, i'm wondering about the occupant. i'm trying to figure him out, sherlock style.

i mentioned this to one of my co-workers and she didn't get it. she thought i meant that i was trying to figure out what was wrong with him. that's not it. i just can't help but try to get a feel for what his story is.

it's not exactly snooping. not really.

*grin*

i always got in trouble back in college with my art profs -- my work was "too illustrational", too figural. but the human form is what is interesting to me. i'd rather draw people than anything else.

and when it comes to writing, it's the characters that keep me going, whether i'm the reader or the writer. people are interesting.

this boy has a bajillion stuffed animals. that's interesting.

time for bed. i've got more snooping...er, cleaning to do tomorrow.

*grin*

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.

I listened to XO again yesterday. I really like "This Song Is About Being Attacked By Monsters", "Your Friends Are Full of Shit", "Bodysnatchers 4 Ever", and "Leviathan".

L told some of you, I know, that we decided to do some promotion work. We put up flyers for LeATHERMOUTH at some of the music stores and the big used book store in town. Just the band name, the MySpace address, a brief description of the sound. We didn't name the band members so that people who aren't into MCR wouldn't dismiss LM as an MCR knockoff.

Pimping LM. Yeah baby, its all good!

elena said...

That's cool J

I think that's a great idea. Let the people hear and be aware of the awesomeness that is Leathermouth

Original Punk J said...

Testify, Sister Elena! :D

You could put one up in YOUR bookstore, I'll bet. If the boss'll let ya.

She's rumored to be a really cool mom, so I think she'll be ok with it.

elena said...

Nope J

She's a bitch.

Oh wait, that's me. LOL

ergoproxy said...

it's a great idea J word of mouth makes a huge difference

Original Punk J said...

The irony is that while we were at the bookstore, these three punker guys came in. One had all the gear, plus a really cool mohawk. L saw them in the CD area upstairs, and was talking up LM. They seemed interested, especially when she said LM is reminiscent of Black Flag and the Sex Pistols.

A woman that works at one of the music stores said her husband's in a local punk band, and that she'd check out LM on the computer, then tell her husband about them.

Who knows, maybe if we keep talking, half the CD sales'll come out of Knoxville! :D

heeheehee I don't know so much about that, but it can't hurt, you know?

Amyranth said...

Okay, so I suck. I came here to chat and ended up emailing.

So, hello J and L, Elena, Ergo, Teej, MJ, BC, and Anonymous!

And, goodnight J and L, Elena, Ergo, Teej, MJ, BC and Anon!

Elena: Are you sure you don't feel like driving down to NOLA tomorrow. You could make it on time for the main event/Fat Tuesday! I'll even let you use my French Maid costume from years ago!
;)

Did Amy go to bed? Goodnight Amy!

elena said...

Oh I have my own French Maid costume....and several others!

Wish I could come I need a vacation!

Original Punk J said...

Oh now the lambkins are squee-ing about being "on TV" with Aunt WenBaa, and will they get to meet somebody famous, and can they stay up baaa and baaa lots of what they're calling "bagnets". I think they mean "beignets".

Dear Heaven above.

Original Punk J said...

Wendy, do most people dress up for Mardi Gras, or is it mainly the folks on the floats? And what are some of the more popular costumes?

Anonymous said...

Hi sugarplum. Goodnight Amy. Expect a email from me tomorrow.

Anon616 said...

LOL J! Tell Sparkle and Twinkle Aunt Wendy will buy them each a dozen "baagnets" and hot chocolate. I think they're a bit too young for the Cafe Au lait!

Elena: I should have known you would have your own costumes!
*big wink*
Maybe next year I should borrow one of yours!

Ergo: Sorry I almost gave you a stroke! Forget I ever mentioned them spending the night! Please.

Concerning costumes J: It's pretty much anything goes! Especially in the French Quarter.

Here, this will give you an idea:

Yep, ANYTHING

;)

ergoproxy said...

looks like a whole lot of fun

Wendy you can borrow any of them you'd like. J and L know about a certain one...

lets just say if the hotel was on fire I'd stay in the room...

Original Punk J said...
Wendy, do most people dress up for Mardi Gras, or is it mainly the folks on the floats?

OH, and the folks on the floats have to "costume". Every "krewe" has a theme and each float (and the riders costumes) represents that theme.

You can read more about Mardi Gras Krewes

here

For instance, this year's Barkus theme was "BatMUTT ~ The Bark Knight". So, all the doggie "floats" had something to do with Batman.

Original Punk J said...

Wow, what a huge bunch o' fun...I can't wait until we can come see you, Wendy! L says she wants a Parisian sort of dress. Son't know what I'd pick yet.

Original Punk J said...

OH ELENA! *laughs* I'm with you, I'd stay in the room and take my chances with the fire!

I have to ask: do you do the hair, too? To go along with the outfit?

Thanks for the reading info, Wendy, I'll have to check it out!

Can I borrow THAT ONE, Elena? Not for Mardi Gras of course. Just for fun!
;)

It is fun, Ergo. I wish you all coulc be here with me!!! Ya'll would love it!

And, you don't have to wear a costume. It just seems to be more fun when you do!

People bring their sofas, recliners, tvs, bar b que pits, propane stoves tents, tarps and everything else out to the neutral grounds running along the streets of New Orleans. The city looks like a huge outdoor living room/kitchen/bar room (of course). Ummm.. one that has been taken over by aliens!

It's great!!!!

Ummm... just not THAT one. I don't know what it is; but, I do like the sound of it!

Well, I'm going to go hang out with Martha and Sweetcheeks for a bit (before working on my "to put in ice chest" shopping list). It's been fun chatting and catching up a bit! Thanks ladies!

Dear SS,

Early Monday morning. It's a quiet night here, no dogs barking, no traffic, no neighbors up and about. The only sound I can hear is the clock ticking on top of the TV.

The night is cold, and darker than black. What stars are out are hidden behind clouds. I know they're there, though, even if they're not visible. The stars never disappear, they never leave. They're a constant presence, reassuring in their clarity and nearness.

Even though I've said it so many times before, I want you to know and remember that I'm like those stars. I will never disappear, never leave. I'll be here every time you need me. Even if I'm not visible, you know where I am. I'm right beside you, supporting you, encouraging you, loving you. You never need to doubt me, because if I ever let you down, I don't think I could look myself in the eye again.

These words from a Squeeze song really say it, I think.

"By Your Side"

When you're down and you're lonely
Come to me I'll be your only
Always remember
I'll be by your side
Call me up daytime or night
I'll always listen every time
If you need me
Then please believe me, don't you cry

I'll show concern
And I'll keep my word
I won't stay away
Now and then when your heart's in pain
I'd like to say
Always remember
I'll be forever
By your side...
*******

For the "now and then" part? Substitute "every time".

Goodnight baby. I love you.

*hugs and kisses*

My heart to yours, always.

Mayo

It was a fairly uneventful day…that is a very good thing. I got caught up on some shit I had been ignoring and read comic books. There was no major drama. Pretty damn nice for a change. So I’m sitting here thinking about tomorrow. Can I actually go for two in a row? Two, count them, two days where nothing epic happens? While I’m trying really hard to convince myself it’s possible, I’m just not really believing it. I guess time will tell.

So hope your day was a good one and tomorrow an even better day. Damn, just think if I ruled the world you would be one happy motherfucker. You’d have one good day after another. Sadly I rule nothing. But that’s okay; I’m not a leader. I’m just a minion.

Back to the comics or perhaps Shop Erotica is on. I would read comics while watching the show but somehow that just seems wrong. Besides lately that show has had some things for sale that demand concentration. Seriously at my age you’d think none of those things would surprise or confuse me but damn. Sometimes they show a product and I know I’m just sting there shaking my head trying to figure out what it does and where it goes. Sometimes I’m pretty sure I really don’t what to know. Or maybe I do.

Take care

Night Mayo

hey Mayo
well I don't have time for songs tonight, I'll get you a good one tomorrow. I have a very important question to ask you, may I have your permission to go back to work part time next week? Elena said seeing as you are the man I spend most of my daytime with it's only right that I should check it's ok ;]
Yep I got a call this afternoon about going back teaching part time on a 10 week contract. I'll have 2 classes of my own, from a teacher I know and work well with while she is away. I have to say def, tomorrow so thought I should ask. I know you'll miss me. Go on, admit it.
lol
so let me know hey? In the next 8 or so hours?
take care mate
much love EP xx

SS
so you read Mayo's message (you can you know, if you want) but to briefly reiterate. I have been offered 10 weeks of part time teaching, It'll take some discipline and organisation (which are totally not my strong points lol)
But it is what I wanted - though a few more hours than I'd really like. Def good for the bank balance too! Though I'll have so much less time to bargain shop and chat! Eh I'll fit it in.
So you think it's a good idea?
let me know lol
keep safe and stay well
lotsa love EP xx

goodnight blogbelieve see you in my morning

Here's a quote from Heath Ledger this morning, just because:

I'm not good at future planning. I don't plan at all. I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow. I don't have a day planner and I don't have a diary. I completely live in the now, not in the past, not in the future.

Hi guys, just popping in to say hello.

Hiya Mayo, Hiya ss.

How is everyone today?

8:12, I'm thinking of you and your family and hope you get the outcome you are wishing for.

I'm kinda emotional at the moment for a few reasons.

First, the other day I had a dream about my dead grandmother. I dreamed that the family had one of those get together parties and afterwards when we were looking at the photos, there was one were all us cousins were sat together posing for the camera. I was holding the photo and as I turned my hand, it changed. It was like a hologram where one minute nothing is there then you turn it the other way and you see the picture. When I turned the photo I could see my grandmother standing behind us all and smiling as though she too were posing for the picture.

Then saturday, we were taking that nice old lady friend of ours shopping. We had a great day but when we were driving home, the exhaust dropped off from under the car and scraped underneath doing some damage. We had to call the RAC out to help us get the car home. My sis has taken it to the garage and it's gonna cost £150. She's upset cos she can't afford it really and that makes me upset too.

Then yesterday, I was reading the sunday papers. There was a story that I'd been following and it was told in much more detail and frankly it made me cry. I'll share it with you.

It was the grandparents telling the story. It had to be cos all the rest of the family are now dead. A portuguese lorry driver plowed into the car of a family of 6 killing them all. It is thought he was messing on his laptop at the time. He has been given three years and will be out in half that time. Makes you sick.

The police told the grandparents that they would have to know all the gory details as it was gonna come out in court and they should be prepared (as it turns out, they didn't let the jury hear all the gory details cos they didn't want to influence them, can you believe that?).

There was the mum and dad and 4 kids in the car. The oldest kid was 13 and the youngest was 10 weeks old. It turns out that they were hit with such force that the 13 year old was decapitated and his head was found on the front seat. The heart and lungs of the father was found wrapped round the baby. The carnage was so bad, they didn't know there was 6 bodies. They had to identify them by DNA taken from objects in the house. The grandparents were told there was no bodies left really for them to bury.

I can't begin to imagine how bad the scene was. It sounds worse than a horror film.

The driver got 3 years, out in half that time. Yet people who defraud money from institutions get 12 years. It is so sad but utterly true that our justice system values money over life.

I don't mind admitting that I cried over this story.

Sorry for the sadness but I had to share my feelings.

Catch you all later.

Good morning/afternoon/evening SS, Mayo, Ergo, MissT, Elena, everyone!

MissT: *huge hug*
That is horrible! I agree with you. I don't understand how money can be considered more precious/valuable than life. It's the same way here in Louisiana. For instance, one of our former governors (*Edwin Edwards) is prison ~ serving a ten year sentence ~ for "racketeering".

Meanwhile, murderers get to "plea bargain" with DAs and serve half that time. It makes no sense to me. NONE whatsoever!

I always think about how horrible the families of the victims must feel. Can you imagine how those grandparents felt. 6 family members gone and the man who caused it gets 4 years in prison. What? 7 ~ 8 months per life he took. Not even close to being "justice", in my opinion.

Ergo: That is wonderful news about the job offer!!! I can't wait to hear what your decision is (pending Mayo's approval, of course!)
*wink and smoooooooch*

Sweetcheeks: I'm sorry you weren't up for much of a "chat" last night. I hope you're feeling better today!

That is all for now. I must go shopping for Mardi Gras! We need "supplies"!

Have a good day, everyone!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy

Hi PJ, L, Fruit Punch, Gel, Andie and Anima!

*Not that we, the people of Louisiana, liked having our money stolen and such; but, money crimes should not carry harsher sentences than violent crimes and crimes of neglect that lead to loss of life.

Anon616 said...

Wait. I got that wrong. He "gets" three years? THREE years for six lives?

*shakes head*

MissTottenham said...

Hiya Wendy.

The mind boggles doesn't it. Seems that people get in a position of power and lose all touch with reality.

There was a story on the tea time news. A woman in Scotland was raped as a 12 year old by her uncle. She is only now braving up to dealing with it. She was in the witness box giving evidence. She got upset and broke down crying and she ran out of the court.

The judge told the police to arrest her and told her a night in the cells would calme her down.

What message does that send to rape victims.

As a result of her not being able to continue, her rape charge has been dropped but luckily he was also being charged with molesting two others girls and was found guilty for that. I think he's got 3 and a half years.

The woman is calling for the MALE judge to be sacked. Good for her though I doubt she'll get her request granted somehow. They all look after their own.

MissTottenham said...

calme = calm obviously.

hi mayo!

hi SS!

hi solly, elena, wendy and miss T!

miss T i read about that horrific accident, but i didn't know the full details, just that they couldn't identify all the people and they didn't know it was all six of them. but that is horrendous! and the sentencing is fucking ridiculous!

and re the rape, what is the matter with people? how traumatic must it be to stand up in court infront of everyone and have your rapist in the same room as you and go through all that shit! i don't think i'd be brave enough to go through with it. and the sad thing is, because rape is such a common crime, it gets diluted as a crime in some people's minds. i think it is such an evil crime.

can't stop guys! Heroes is resuming here in the UK and i need to get my fix!

love to you all!

good morning

my pleasure elena!!

have a great night fasc

missT that is dreadful, and caused by such an idiotic thing for him to be doing!
Justice sometimes seems not to be served at all.
We had a dreadful accident not far from here, the other week, a van with tourists and a car wit tourists, all bar one killed (that was 6 people) the vehicles burnt out and they couldn't notify relatives as they couldn't identify anyone. They had to wait for the girl who survived to recover enough to tell them, and to try and trace the hire car. They think most likely it was speed ad inattention.
A decision by one person can affect so many so tragically.

MissTottenham said...

Hiya Ergo sweetie.

That's a sorry story. It breaks your heart. But you'd think the people in high roles would be more compassionate and understanding of families needs for the guilty to be punished.

ergoproxy said...

you would think so but so many times people with waht you'd see as more sort of minor white collar crime, such as embezzlement etc, which do affect people badly but not like murder or needless manslaughter, get 3 years+ and often serve the whole term. Yet a person can take a life on purpose, or at least due to gross negligence, and be free months later

MissTottenham said...

I know Ergo, it needs to be changed. Money is money but once someone is dead, it is forever. That is irreplacable. You can't put money value on a life.

You can try to put a punishment value on it though. Surely no-one should spend less than 30 years inside for killong someone. Surely that is the minimum acceptable for taking a life.

ergoproxy said...

for sure missT

I have to go I 'll see you tomorrow

YAAHOOOOOO!!!! Wake up, everyone!!! It's almost Mardi Gras!!!!!!

Happy Lundi Gras (and Happy Mardi Gras) Mayo, SS, Sweetcheeks, MissT, Ergo, FASC, Amy, anons, lurkers, everyone!!!!

The keys to the city and the "legal power" of the Mardi Gras kingdom known as New Orleans , LA have been handed over to REX ~ The King of Carnival.

The laws of the land are now: No school, no work, no one will be arrested for getting drunk and/or pigging out on the streets of NOLA!

In other words: Eat, drink, be merry and catch plenty "throws"!!

Those laws will be in effect until midnight tomorrow. At which time, the NOPD will roll down the streets of the French Quarter and tell everyone to GO HOME (and come back next year)!

I am going get a few hours of sleep. We must start early (before sunrise) to celebrate properly on Mardi Gras.

I hope you all have a wonderful night and a fun tomorrow!!!

I'll try to stop in tomorrow night (of course, I may be passed out ~ so, we shall see)!

Goodnight everyone and sweet dreams to one and all!!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

i'm glad for you ergo! maybe this time it will be more fun. :)

Hallo Ergo!!

yes I have three classes of my own, and I know the lady I'm relieving so should be ok
I know I will be terribly nervous when I start though. I get nervous before every class, always have, bit like performers. I don't think you ever get used to it, or you lose something, the nerves give you some sort of edge

I knew what you meant by wanting to figure out the boy too, I do that with people. Sometimes it shows a side of someone you don't expect, shows how inaccurate first impressions can be.

mayo,

i stopped by the library after work today, mostly to pick up some tax forms (it's going to be complicated this time, what with all the odd jobs i had last year. ugh.), but also to check out some new dvds. i've been watching movies in the evenings, catching up on what i missed and revisiting old favorites.

it was a little strange tonight, though. as i was coming across the parking lot, this teenage girl said hello to me. i replied. then i see her again upstairs, and that's when she just starts talking to me, like we know each other, and follows me around the building, chatting. after awhile, she introduced herself, and said good-bye.

stuff like that happens here. old men will pull up alongside me when i'm walking somewhere, wanting to know if i'm alright, if my car broke down, if i need help. they are completely sincere. people say hello to you, in the mall, on the street, in the shops. it's like everyone is a wal-mart greeter. i even had a stranger wave at me from their car.

my folks assure me this is a normal level of friendliness for this region, but to be honest, it is freaky as hell! and it didn't seem this noticeable last time, i suppose because i wasn't trying to be a resident. now i am and it's like i've emigrated to a foreign country. it's amazing how different places can be, even though we're in the same country.

i'm not complaining, though. not at all. just think of this as a postcard from an exotic clime: greetings from kentucky!

however, i will breathe a sigh of relief to get back to places where they properly ignore you in public. *grin*

good night mayo. please remember -- no one likes to be called "ma'am".

Goodnight to anyone here.

Mayo

I could tell you about my day but that would just bore the pants off you. It really would. There is an upside of course. Nothing bad happened. So I guess that could be viewed as a good day. Yeah, I’m gonna go with it was a good day and leave it at that.

I guess the most exciting thing I did was watch 24 but I gotta admit I’m not really liking this season. Maybe it’s just me but Jack seems to have lost some of the magic and the plot line is pretty thin. Hey, maybe it will get better. I hope so.

So now I’m sitting here trying to think of something else to say. I swear if I had a thought bubble coming out of my head there would be tumbleweed blowing across an empty street. I totally got nothing. I am truly boring tonight. Okay I’ll admit it I’m boring a lot of the time but tonight it’s especially apparent.

That said, I think I’ll go get some of my work done because I’m feeling the need to take tomorrow off. Not sure what I’ll do or where I’ll go but I like it that way. Times like that seem to be when interesting things happen. So maybe tomorrow something noteworthy will occur. If it does I’ll let you know.

Take care

Night Mayo

well I took your silence as a tacit approval of my job prospects so I accepted this morning :] Now I can just stress over whether I'll do a good job, lol
So I am off Split Enz again, I will get back to it, but I was listening to these guys today. The Fratelli's. Heard of them? well you should as they are really good. I think so, therefore it must be so! I just fins their songs so damn fun and catchy.
This is a great one (and also a tasty aussie fish!)
Flathead
Well just because she feeds me well
And she made me talk dirty in a pink hotel
Doesn't mean she's got eyes for me
She might just want my bones you see
And hey flathead don't you get mean
She's the second best killer that I ever have seen
It don't come much more sick than you
I could go on if you want me to
It's just so wrong so very nice
And I told you once and you killed me twice
Saw you one time at the back of the club
Chewing on glass and a ticket stub
Still I heard you kicked the boy till he bled
And you stood and said oh my god till she said
Bada bap pada da da badada da da da da da bada bap pada da da da. [x4]

Well everybody knows you're the one to call
When the girls get ugly on the back of the wall
Josephine says you got a bleedin nose
Takin' it with her wherever she goes
And hey flathead don't check me in
Well hers is a tonic and mine is a gin
They don't come much more slick than you
I'd drive your car if you ask me to
Said the boy's not right in the head
And you stood and got a kickin instead till she said
Bada bap pada da da badada da da da da da bada bap pada da da da. [x4]

...And she said the boy's not right in the head
And you stood and said oh my god til she said...
Bada bap pada da da badada da da da da da bada bap pada da da da. [x4]

SS
so I ma employed again! it does feel nice, plus seeing as my washing machine appears to have died, and some strange electrical stuff is going on in the house some extra pay will be handy!
Hope you're well,
For you a Fratelli's song called
Chelsea Dagger
Well you must be a girl with shoes like that
She said you know me well
I seen you and little steven and Joanna
Round the back of my hotel oh yeah

Someone said you was asking after me
But I know you best as a blagger
I said tell me your name is it sweet?
She said my boy it's dagger oh yeah

I was good she was hot
Stealin' everything she got
I was bold she was over the worst of it
Gave me gear thank you dear bring yer sister over here
Let her dance with me just for the hell of it
Well you must be a boy with bones like that
She said you got me wrong
I would've sold them to you
If I could've just have kept the last of my clothes on
Call me up take me down with you
When you go I could be your regular belle
And I'll dance for little steven and Joanna
Round the back of my hotel oh yeah

I was good she was hot
Stealin everything she got
I was bold she was over the worst of it
Gave me gear thank you dear bring yer sister over here
Let her dance with me just for the hell of it

Chelsea Chelsea I believe that when your dancing
Slowly sucking your sleeve
The boys get lonely after you leave
It's one for the Dagger and another for the one you believe

Chelsea I believe that when your dancing
Slowly sucking your sleeve
The boys get lonely after you leave
It's one for the Dagger another for the one you believe

Nice seeing you. Go ahead and push all the elevator buttons.

Okay that reminds me of something I used to do in when I went to college at KU.

I never slept back then either. So I would think up weird things to do. One night (actually early morning about 3 am) I rode the elevator to each floor of the dorm and took the cushions off the sofas in the lounges and put them in the elevator. Had a very nice stack in there. I always wondered what the first person in the morning thought when the elevator doors opened. Life was sorta fun back before there were security cameras everywhere.

sdock10 said...

Mayo,

How's your week going so far? Are you neck deep or knee deep in shit? So far, I think I've managed to catch most of it and stack it neatly in brick sized squares.

I'm building a wall. Yep, sure am. Might as well, right?

Anyhow, that's not what I came to talk about. Which isn't entirely true seeing as how I didn't really come to talk about anything in particular, but hell, I figured since I was here and all, I might as well try and get some shit squared away.

Ha! Did ya get that one? Squared away? Bwah, I'm so fucking out of mind that I've circled 'round and 'round and now I just hover over myself.

And what I see doesn't make much sense. Because I see someone who spins herself into a frenzy, by thinking, always thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking.

I think and then I will think about the things that I just thought about and think differently, and then wonder why the fuck did I think that in the first place. Then, I think, what if I'm wrong? I thought things were okay but now they don't seem so okay and I wonder if he, she, or they think the same things. What are they thinking? Are they really thinking what I think they are thinking? Oh no, why are they thinking that? I thought, I think, I thought, I think, I am thinking about thinking about what I should have thought about while I was thinking about that.

And tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after, and the next, I will think about it all again, and I'll probably think that these thoughts should have been more thought out.

So, Mayo...

What do you think?

Love to YOU Always,
S
