The wrong way...

Drill Bit

Tuesday I hear it’s going around;
I’m off...again, knuckled white.
Wednesday I will talk myself into
Round about routes to denial.
If I say it, then it won’t come true.
And, I find comfortable restraint; bound to
Repeating it over and over and over. And again,
It feels better that way, medicated meditation.
Then Thursday everything is white. I eat
From a bland full service spectrum buffet,
Plated and nothing touches.
I won’t even sip from her cup.
By Friday I am unable to tolerate human contact.
And, I count back to the last
In order to find spared time. I’ll be free-
On Saturday what is in the air will kill me.
So, I hold my breath between rooms. Suffocated,
Sunday I become completely restricted.
I will not accept from anyone, anything
That has been anywhere other than here.
Those days, they wear me hard
And to the end, so I have become
Exhausted from the fight. I finally sleep.
Then Monday brings me back, slightly.
With a negligent handshake,
So that again Tuesday I am found,
Wringing dry, anticeptic hands.
I will not allow myself to open a door
I stay; refusal and restraint, withholding.

p.s. its got quite a grip.

Lynz Talking about Gerard!!!
an old interview with msi.
http://punktv.ca/news/105/ARTICLE/3109/2008-01-18.html

U: Whatever you find that you can’t stand. Things that people do, and it doesn’t matter what band they are in. They do the same stupid shticks all the time. “Hey, alright, get up you motherfuckers!” It doesn’t matter, you could be in a Jock Rock band, a fucking war band, or 30 Seconds to Mars and the guy is going to be like, “Hey you motherfuckers!”

S: How about Gerard, that is the most bizarre one, from My Chemical Romance....?

U: Oh, I know! I expected him to be…

S: “Get your hands in the air! Alright you fuckers!”

L: Yeah, what the fuck? It is like they go to the 101 school. Shut the fuck up!, why are you ruining it with crap?

Has anyone here heard from Wendy? Six people were shot along the Mardi Gras parade route today. All survived, but are in the hospital. The news didn't give names, but released ages of the victims, and one was a 17 year old girl. I hope it wasn't Wendy's niece.

The police caught the two shooters right after it happened. It's hard to imagine there are people in this world who think nothing of firing into a crowd, full of men, women and children. One of the victims was a one year old baby. The bullet grazed the child's back, so they think it should be ok.

Unbelievable.

Anonymous said...

Hi Wendy.

Anonymous said...

9:42, what the hell is your problem? I'm not Wendy, I am concerned about her.

I will say it again,

Unbelievable.

Anonymous said...

Unless you can tell me you heard from her and she and her niece are alright, I've got nothing to say to you.

Goodnight.

Anonymous said...

Seems like something you would do. Use your niece for attention and an excuse to get attention on the blog. That is what is disgusting.

Not playing, anon. Not playing.

But if that happened getting out of the area my be a bit difficult, with panic and emergency services and all.
Hope she and anyone she is related to or knows is ok though. Thank goodness the people who were shot all survived, and glad they caught them

Here is the news item:

What should be an all out celebration has turned violent as police say several people have been shot today along the Mardi Gras parade route in New Orleans. The Mardi Gras shooting left six people injured.

Today is Fat Tuesday, a day known for gluttony as it marks the end of the Mardi Gras celebration before the Lenten season begins. Police have recovered the weapon used in the Mardi Gras shooting and have arrested two suspects.

Bob Young, New Orleans police spokesman, says the 'Rex' parade had just passed by a group of revelers when shots were heard around 1:40pm CST.

Shots erupted during a truck float parade that followed. One victim was shot in the stomach and is in serious condition according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper.

Medics rushed each of the victims to the Trauma Center at University Hospital in New Orleans. Two men aged 20 were the most seriously injured. Those two Mardi Gras parade shooting victims are in guarded condition according to the New Orleans EMS.

The other victims are in stable condition including a 1-year-old baby boy with a graze wound in the back; a 17-year-old girl was shot in the thigh, while a 50-year-old woman was shot in the elbow and a 30-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the thigh. Each of the victims appeared to be innocent bystanders according to Deputy Chief of police Kirk Bouyelas.

I am also not playing. That's really my opinion.

How about you? I saw you took off sick?

Lol. Yeah, something I ate last night made me a bit ill, and I didn't sleep that good either, so I felt like crap.

I stayed home today and spent it resting. My brother thought I was gonna quit school, but in this day and age, I can't afford not to, with the way the economy is. My ass shall still continue to go.

that is sad news about the mardi gras violence. i'm glad everyone survived.

This is the second night in a row now that we (my friend and I) have been up browsing Youtube and listening to songs we haven't heard in YEARS.

(They are also songs we'd probably never admit to owning ever again.)

But I have to say, even though music has changed a lot in the last few years, I still think the late 90's had lots of great music. But then again, most of my MP3 player is the late 90's...

that sounds like fun, amyranth. i haven't been able to browse youtube since i left my apartment last march.

Walking around the castle I found this post by Mayo. I miss these times so much.

Sunday, October 14, 2007
Time has a funny way of punching in.

Do not be led astray...I am here, not there, not everywhere. Although the meaning may be hidden, my words are never buried. You always recognize my presence and hear my voice. It is a great compliment. I hear you as well, and continue to do so with an open mind. My lovelies, it has been far too long since I addressed you directly. Please don't be mad.

It was never my intent to stay, you have given me a path, and I will wander. Judgments aside for the moment, the most promising of you have made this a phenomenal place to find importance in reason; the process of it. Dare I say we complement one another?

p.s. some are not obligated to wear the wool and others do it for good measure.

mayo,

we get done earlier in the day at this job than usual -- i'm generally back at the shop by 4 pm, and my sister picks me up at the library an hour later. i walk there, just a half-hour crosstown. it gives me time to look for rentals and just wander a little.

today i detoured over to the local comics shop. it's a tiny little dark hole-in-the-wall, a few wire racks along the back and the walls lined with the usual cardboard boxes. they play d&d at the table in the center. it reminds me of places from when i was younger.

today i stopped in to ask if they could hold the next tua issue for me, and the guy at the table readily agreed to do so -- didn't even ask for my name. (that was startling, but it's a small town after all.)

i was still early to the library, and so sat inside working on my story, scribbling away in my notebook at a table.

that's it. that's what i did after work. nothing stupendous, but the quality of the air -- hovering between winter chill and spring sweetness -- and the sound of my shoes on the brick sidewalks made it a gentle and enjoyable hour.

that's how it is, you know. the little hours build up behind the exciting stories we tell, those adventures that become our anecdotes. but very often it's those quiet beautiful hours, doing nothing but being in the world, that become the most wistful memories of all.

make sure you watch for those, mayo, and save them. make yourself chock full with them. they are what our spirits feed on.

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.

I got a message from Wendy too, they weren't near where the shooting was, they didn't even know of it at the time
They are home and collapsed and slept, had a great time but are appalled at the fact someone did that

(btw I saw that 11 yo that shot his dads pregnant girlfriend, with the shotgun his dad gave him as a present - how totally tragic for them and for him, his life is wrecked before it even started, you wonder how things like that ever get to that point, so very very sad)

Hello Mayo, SS, Ergo, Sweetcheeks, Amy, Elena, J and L, Martha, anons and lurkers!

Thanks to those who were worried/concerned! Like Ergo said, my family and I are fine! We had a great day. The weather was gorgeous, the floats and costumes were fabulous, the marching bands were rockin' and the crowd (at least in our area) was wonderful!

I had no idea there had been a shooting until I read the e~mails a few minutes ago.

I am absolutely appalled. I don't understand why some (obviously violent) people would want to ruin the fun families are having celebrating "Fat Tuesday". What the hell is wrong with people?

Oh, and FOR YOU anon at 9:46 who said:

You can kiss my little bo peep!

Yes, I've always used my niece for attention. Yep, there was...
wait, there was NEVER and there NEVER will be a time when I use any person I love for attention ~not in real life and certainly not on a blog!

What the hell kind of person would even think someone would make up crap about a family member being shot to get attention. Who the hell would even think something like that?

Something here is disgusting; but, it's not me, the way I feel about my family and friends or our attitudes.

Let me guess, are you the one who said that "Carrie and I were just jealous because we don't get any attention in real life". Yeah, that was so true too!

Again, thank you to those who were concerned (and those who know better). I'm just sorry that I couldn't get back to any of you sooner. Yes, I passed out! I felt like I had been run over by a couple of those tractors that pull the floats... and a few horses too!

Having said that, I'm ready for next Mardi Gras already!!!! It just never gets old. Hopefully, next year's Mardi Gras will be violence free.

Thanks again!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Allez hop! un matin
Une louloute est venue chez-moi
Poupee de cellophane, cheveux chinois

Ca plane pour moi ca plane pour moi
Ca plane pour moi moi moi moi moi
Ca plane pour moi
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!

for you the translation, (or one of, for alternates see here

Wham! Bam! my cat Splash
lies on my bed with his tongue puffed out
by drinking all my whisky.
As for me, not enough sleep, drained, persecuted,
I had to sleep in the gutter
where I had a flash
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
in four colours

Allez-oop! One morning
a darling came to my home,
a cellophane puppet with Chinese hair,
a plaster, a hangover,
drank my beer in a large rubber glass
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
like an Indian in his igloo

This works for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me
This work for me
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
This works for me

Allez-oop! The chick***, what a gas!
what a vibration!
to be sent on the door mat
filed, ruined, drained, filled
You are the King of the divan!
she says to me in passing
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
I am the King of the divan

This works for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me
This workss for me
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
This works for me

Allez-oop! Don't mind, don't worry
Don't affect me
It’s not today
that the sky will fall on my head
and I'll be without glue
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
This life’s for me

Allez-oop! my chick has gone away,
flew away, finally had enough, to break
the sink, the bar, leaving me alone
like a complete jerk
Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo!
I've put my foot in it

This works for me, this works for me
This works for me me me me me
This workss for me

who were "the most promising"??

that would be me anon! i'm very fucking promising!

i do love reading old mayo though. ages ago now. i'll go find possibly my fave mayo post? it may have changed over the time but there were some good ones.

hi everyone hope you are good, well and super fucking duper?!!

farawaysoclose said...

this is possibly my fave cos it was when it was so busy here and it was about us. i loved this one.

"From the corner."

Always, they gather around the table.
Their hands clasp coffee cups
of different colors, shapes, and sizes.
Scattered before them plates hold sweets.
They arrive, each with beautiful minds
bounding exuberance, and cautious measure.
Another day and the scene may be festive,
music, cocktails, streamers, and balloons.
And another, somber
with their wondrous hearts saving the day.

Always, they are lovely to behold
and they graciously offer
the culmination of extraordinary lives.
They saunter in and take their usual place,
then spirit out again to live, work, love, and play.
Always offering their host a taste
of what that experience could be.
I walk among them undisturbed,
sharing the endeavor
with their glorious insight discerning the way.

Please keep that in mind for the times I when say I have heard enough and please carry on regardless of my shitty ass bad timing.

I am all but present and accounted for, and simply enraptured with the season…I am fucking giddy with this shit.

"Independent Endeavor"

This is overdue. Please forgive me as I have been preoccupied with family. I had meant to post this earlier, in time with all of your moments of introspection, during "this is me". I think it is in good timing, as it seems a distraction could be in order...

I am a contradiction.

I am a planner, I plan everything. But, I have also been known to make snap decisions.

I am an idealist.
I am a realist.

I research the hell out of everything, but I am always changing my mind.
I am a workaholic, but can very easily sleep in too late...I have insomnia so the appeal of my dreams can be somewhat overwhelming.

I am a good listener, but I tend to talk over people (I am really working on that one).
I fear rejection on every level, but I am always drawing attention to myself.
I fear failure, but I am not afraid to try new things, and this constant change in scenery allows me to masquerade achievement.

I think I am always right, but I acknowledge that I make mistakes.
I am very independent and a control freak…I like to do things my way, myself. Yet, I am high maintenance and a bit of a scatter brain…therefore I require someone to look after me.

I have diagnosed clinical depression, but I can be the life of the party.

I have outrageously high standards for myself, but I am generous in allowing others to fault.
I am very loyal, but I have been known to wander off towards a novel stimulus like a moth to a flame.

I am empathetic.
I am selfish.
I am stubborn.
I crave change.

I have enjoyed kissing both women and men, but prefer women.

I am shy.
I am eccentric.
I am erratic.

I work hard, and I am passionate. I love life, my friends, and my family. I am always expressing myself

...even in silence.

oh shit i love this one also!!

"A lucid transaction."

I am sitting at a table with friends, it is dark and loud. I am bored. I am absently searching for something affecting to distract me, when I spot myself sitting across the room. I am at a table with some friends…and I am staring right back at myself. I am unable to look away. The gaze between us has me transfixed. Then he, the other me, shuns me with a smirk and joins the conversation at his table. He is speaking, and his hands are gesturing along with his alluring tale. His friends are captivated by the unconstrained other me. I envy his ease. Now I am alone at my table and I am singing to the other me. My song is pleading for him to hear, to once again find me, but he does not. And just as I am about to stop singing, you grab my hand and pull me up from my chair, and I wake up.

p.s. it is because the light reflected from painted glass is ambiguous. mirror me in your words, and that is where I find clarity. as do you, in each others.

I hope tomorrow is nice too. Of course I have to work but I could open the store at noon.

*starts to plan*

MissTottenham said...

Sucks to be the owner sometimes.

Oops forgot.

But yeah, take tomorrow morning off if it's nice weather. Perks of being the boss.

gnothi seauton said...

Elena - get yourself outside, make the most of the weather whilst you've got it.

Miss T - is that like some strange Northern version of the kinky slapping they do in Morris Dancing? And you have to do it after tea to build your strength up?

MissTottenham said...

Yup GS, it's defo an after tea event.

All those yorkshire puddings makes you strong hahaha!

gnothi seauton said...

All those yorkshire puddings makes you strong

Ahh, stodgy carbohydrates. Good for the stamina.

MissTottenham said...

Oh yeah GS, yorkshire puddings lashed with gravy. Yumm Yumm.

elena said...

I've never had yorkshire pudding. What's in it?

MissTottenham said...

It's basically the same mixture as pancake mix but you put it in a tray in the oven and it rises.

elena said...

oh that sounds good. Do you put anything on it, MissT?

MissTottenham said...

vegetable oil
290ml/½ pint milk
4 eggs, beaten
255g/9oz plain flour, sifted
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.
2. Grease a Yorkshire pudding tin with a little vegetable oil. Place the tin in the oven to preheat.
3. Place the milk, eggs and seasoning in a bowl. Stir well to combine.
4. Whisk in the flour.
5. Remove the tin from the oven. Pour in the batter, filling each case only three quarters full.
6. Place the tin in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until puffy and raised.
7. Remove the puddings from the oven and serve.

puddings

MissTottenham said...

Elena, you can have it warm with your sunday roast. I like gravy on mine.

Or you can have them cold with golden syrup on them as a desert. I like it that way too.

elena said...

Thanks MissT. Think I'll try my hand at making that. It sounds good.

MissTottenham said...

If you need any handy hints Elena, Carrie makes a mean yorkie pud.

gnothi seauton said...

Hi again Elena. Try Yorkshire puddings at least once, just to experience them.

Miss T - had pancakes again tonight and was dared to try them with Marmite. Vair scrummy!

MissTottenham said...

Oh no GS *gags at mere mention of marmite*

It's true what the ad says, you either love it or hate it.

Golden syrup or squeezed oranges for my pancake topping. Which I had yesterday of course ^_^

You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you

Help me I broke apart my insides, help me I’ve got no soul to sell
Help me the only thing that works for me, help me get away from myself

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal

My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that it brings

You can have my absence of faith, you can have my everything
Help me tear down my reason, help me its' your sex I can smell
Help me you make me perfect, help me become somebody else

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal

My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

Through every forest, above the trees
Within my stomach, scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
You are the reason I stay alive

Anon, that is a good song. Wanna know a fun fact? About 10 years ago, my dad told me that was his favorite song! I was shocked! How could I not! But kind of amused at time!

And since they censor out the word 'fuck' on the radio, he said to me..."btw, I know what he is saying" ...

So for christmas that year I bought him the CD. He loves it!!!
Bye Anon, thanks for posting!

anima said...

Hi MissT!

anima said...

Hi Amy, hi Ergo!

Yes, I was working...

The excel program froze, I was forced to close it and now its trying to recover what I was just working on (I've been waiting 2 minutes already). Awesome. Why didn't I hit save? Fuck.

ergoproxy said...

oh anima what a pain!
does it have an auto save you can switch on, like Word does?
I've never used excel, though I probably should learn how, I was shown once for storing kids marks but I preferred a mark book and a calculator and as I never had to teach it it's gone from my memory

anima said...

*still waiting*

"this take take several minutes..."

I hate microsoft. I really do.

Anonymous said...

Hey guys

Carrie said...

I am a bad, bad, Bert worshipper. Didn't know it was his birthday!

anima said...

It does do an autosave, I think that what it is trying to find right now. Excel it pretty awesome. It would be great for you and the grades/marks! You should try again...the help menu is really good now. I use it all the time when trying to figure out a formula.

ergoproxy said...

thanks anima I might have a play at home here and see how it goes

Hi BC!!

hello Carrie!!

how are you both?

anima said...

Hi BC, Hi Carrie!

anima said...

Ergo, you could probably find a template that already has everything programmed. I'm sure there is one out there.

anima said...

*ponders*

Do I hit 'cancel' and end the auto recovery or should I wait a little longer?

hmmm.

Carrie said...

Heya Ergo, Bc, Anima, and I'm sure at least a couple other people. I am fine, mainly because I'm not working, and I'm watching the cheesiness of American Idol.

Awww, Bertles! ♥

Hello Mayo! Hello SS! Hello errbody!

Anon who loves The Gaslight Anthem:

They totally made me think of the movie 'Eddie and the Cruisers'. No lie. Then it made me want to listen to the soundtrack! Then I looked up the synopsis of that movie because it's been like 20 years since I've seen it and of course, Eddie and his Cruisers were a band based out of Jersey. EVERYONE IS FROM JERSEY! EVEN IN THE MOVIES! O_o

On the darkside!!! ^_^

SS,

I swear I had something really important to tell you and I forgot. Ummm, well, not like life or death important. I don't think. We'll never know.

*creepy music*

Well, gotta go get tortured by American Idol for 2 hours.

See you guys tomorrow!

anima said...

Carrie are you sitting on the couch with a laptop?

Sweet dreams everyone!

anima said...

I hit cancel. Go figure it's there! Stupid shit!

Oh well, at least I got to come back to the blog!

anima said...

I barely remember that movie, but all I know is that I loved it!

Carrie, nothing like the comfort of the usual habitat!

anima said...

I can't remember what year the movie was supposed to take place. Damn, Smoke, now I gotta go look it up!

Night Smoke. ♥

ergoproxy said...

I don't think I ever saw Eddie and the Cruisers, but I may have I have a vague memory of it, but that may be the movie poster too

I have noticed in American movies the two places that seem to be involved an inordinate amount of time are New Jersey and Chicago

mayo,

a neat little thing happened today. when my sister picked me up after work this evening, she gave me a small vinyl case. it's black, zippered, and with a very subtle shimmery glitter -- a take-home item for people who have had lasik surgery. they had a surplus at work, and when she saw it she said it looked like something i would like.

thoughtful, isn't she? here's the part that's especially neat: i was looking at it, turning it over in my hands and thanking her for it, when i suddenly realized what it was.

it's the case for my travel watercolor kit.

and it's perfect for it, too. she was as pleased as i was to discover the use for it.

i love serendipity.

i have this urge these days to make my life portable. aside from the art kit, i also have plans for a new and improved sewing kit (i found an old carved box from russia in a consignment shop here that will be perfect), a small travel-sized devotional altar (i wanted to use a bento box, but haven't found the right one yet), as well as plans to upgrade my electronics so i won't have to rely on library computers in the future.

i even want to train my cat to ride in the car, once i get her back. whether she likes it or not. *heh*

see, i don't plan on settling down for a long while. i have a lot of places i want to not just visit, but live in. i'm quite enamored of the idea of making my entire material life fit into a suitcase. i was weighed down by too much crap for too long.

and today my sister helped me get one step closer to my goal.

neat. *grin*

good night mayo. dream well, and may tomorrow have several little happy surprises for you to discover.

Goodnight TJ, sweet dreams.

Mayo can't get youtube for some reason but I have a song anyway
Split Enz again,
Dirty Creature
Dirty Creature come my way from the bottom of a big black lake
Shuffles up to my window making sure I'm awake
S'probably gonna pick my brain
Got me in a vice-like grip
He said one slip, your dead. Ha.

Dirty Creature of habit, Little horror here to stay
Anyone in his right mind would tell it to go away
But the river of dread runs deep, full of unspeakable things
The creature don't mess around
I don't wanna mess with him

I don't wanna sail, I don't wanna sail
I don't wanna, I don't wanna sail tonight
Dirty Creature's got me at a disadvantage from the inside.

Tentacles on the brain keep me from falling asleep
I'm rooted to the spot, The beast don't know when to stop
Sneaking up from behind, Binds and gags my wits
Dirty Creature got my head exactly where he wants it

I don't wanna sail, I don't wanna sail,
I don't wanna, I don't wanna sail tonight,
Taniwha is waiting for me just below the surface so bright
(Yeah-eah-eah-eah)
Even as we speak the Dirty Creature springs a nasty surprise.

Dirty Creature knows my type found it in a magazine
He's seen the look of fear before splattered all over the screen
The animal magnet thug draws me out of myself
I need a dragon-slayer who can save me from myself

I don't wanna sail, I don't wanna sail,
I don't wanna set sail for the middle of nowhere tonight
Dirty Creature's got me at a disadvantage from the inside
(Yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah)
I don't wanna sail upon the waters of invention tonight

look up the song if you have time, it's a really good one
Hope all is well, you still have me a bit concerned after this post you know
much love EP xx

SS
another Split Enz, this one begins with a really lovely instrumental piece, please find it and have a listen if you can
6 Months In A Leaky Boat
When I was a young boy,
I wanted to sail round the world,
That's the life for me,
Living on the sea.
Spirit of a sailor,
Circumnavigates the globe,
The lust of a pioneer,
Will acknowledge no frontier.

I remember you by
Thunder clap in the sky,
Lightning flash, tempers flare,
Round the Horn if you dare.

I just spent 6 months in a leaky boat,
Lucky just to keep afloat.

Ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay.

Aotearoa, rugged individual,
Glisten like a pearl,
At the bottom of the world.
The tyranny of distance,
Didn't stop the cavalier,
So why should it stop me,
I'll conquer and stay free.

Ah, c'mon all you lads,
Let's forget and forgive,
There's a world to explore,
Tales to tell back on shore.

I just spent 6 months in a leaky boat,
6 months in a leaky boat.

Ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay.

hope you and yours are well
lotsa love EP xx
