The wrong way...

Drill Bit

Tuesday I hear it’s going around;
I’m off...again, knuckled white.
Wednesday I will talk myself into
Round about routes to denial.
If I say it, then it won’t come true.
And, I find comfortable restraint; bound to
Repeating it over and over and over. And again,
It feels better that way, medicated meditation.
Then Thursday everything is white. I eat
From a bland full service spectrum buffet,
Plated and nothing touches.
I won’t even sip from her cup.
By Friday I am unable to tolerate human contact.
And, I count back to the last
In order to find spared time. I’ll be free-
On Saturday what is in the air will kill me.
So, I hold my breath between rooms. Suffocated,
Sunday I become completely restricted.
I will not accept from anyone, anything
That has been anywhere other than here.
Those days, they wear me hard
And to the end, so I have become
Exhausted from the fight. I finally sleep.
Then Monday brings me back, slightly.
With a negligent handshake,
So that again Tuesday I am found,
Wringing dry, anticeptic hands.
I will not allow myself to open a door
I stay; refusal and restraint, withholding.

p.s. its got quite a grip.

It is eye-opening to observers when one proclaims that one is a feminist and then, squeals like a piggie when referred to by a slang term for female genitals. The furor surrounding the "C" word (and others like it) achieves the exact effect that the appropriation of this word has always intended; when employed, it reduces a human being to the status of an object. When a woman uses this word as an epithet, she internalizes the attitude of the oppressor for her own possible gain. The vagina is both worshiped and vilified in our society. To be born male is to be born with a very real set of privileges that men are not obliged to earn or even to be worthy of. When a man calls someone the "C" word, he is saying that the object of that derision is worth less than he is. That its target is so worthless as to be equal to the lowly status of the woman - indeed, that s/he is analogous to the lowest distinctly female feature of anatomy. This word can only hurt you if you buy into the notion that it is the ultimate shame to assume the characteristics of, resemble or actually BE a woman. Or, if its negative power has been violently, deliberately pounded into you in the service of convincing you that you are worthless.

It is hard to see the logic of an avowed and vocal "feminist" objecting so shrilly and serially to the "C" word. Feminists, in theory, are proponents of ALL things female, including the female body, bearer of the wonderful vagina. Hypocrites only pay lip service to feminism, while using the arbitrary trappings of disempowerment in order to appear to be a victim. This perpetuates the harm that the "C" word can achieve by reinforcing its artificial, noxious meaning. I do not use the "C" word because of the hearts that have been broken by it. If someone used this word to describe me, I certainly would not extend the violence intended by the hurling of it in example after example of my "victimization". Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can break your heart. Our soi-disant "feminist" knows that the words she uses and the spirit that they are written in brand her a hypocrite. She is counting on her conviction that others here are not sharp enough to see her and her statements for what they are.

I guess this must be said: I do not intend, by my comment, to criticize anyone who objects to ALL use of this word. I also do not refer to Ms. Jones in any way. Martha has spoken out against words of abuse repeatedly and I am always interested in what she has to say. Whether she liked The Truman Show or not.

Amyranth...... These people can come back and call the porchies cunts when you say it's OK for them to.

March 6, 2009 8:13 PM

Because people are sick of reading it.

Anonymous said...

Yes Amyranth please tell us when you think it's OK for us to tell the Porchies what to say, make a list of what is' OK to write, how much poetry allowed and please tell us when you deem it OK to call them names like scum, bitch and anything else. YOU tell us when YOU think that is OK. We bow to you oh rule maker.

So it is OK for you to tell me to fuck myself then?

Like i said. YOU tell others when they can and can't insult people, the porchies, call them names, post poetry and whatever else you can think of.

After all it is about YOU and what YOU think is appropriate. Someone YOU like has a tragedy so things should be put on hold because YOU said so.

Except telling me "fuck you".... That is OK.

How nice of you to use Anima's loss for your own agenda BTW.

Anonymous said...

"8:20, go fuck yourself.

LMFAO.

Anonymous said...

I'd rather if she could read something NICE for a change, as opposed to a bunch of bickering.

I agree. It would be nice for everyone to be able to come here and not listen to all the bickering.

Anonymous said...

Let's just let Amy decide when others feel up to the insults. Once Amy says its OK to call the porchies cunts you can do it again.

Even though she says "fuck you" and even if SHE calls them names or insults others remember to "do as she says and not as she does".

Amy didn't say Simon Says. Once she thinks that Anima can handle it, you will be allowed to call the porchies names again.

Disgusting.

Anonymous said...

Using such a tragedy in order to make it possible to tell others what to do.... especially when it's something you do yourself, OFTEN, is so disgusting to me.

Anonymous said...

So it is OK for you to tell me to fuck myself then?

Yes

Amyranth said...

Nice.

Grow up. I shouldn't need to tell you that, you should know that by now.

Apparently you don't.

Anonymous said...

But then again I'm not one to call people names. I leave that to the professionals like Amyranth.

Anonymous said...

Just give the green light when you think it's OK for the anons to attack them again Amyranth. It's all up to you.

Anonymous said...

"Are you saying that to be a feminist you have to not hate being called a "c"?"

Absolutely not. It is unpleasant to be characterized by any word that is intended to cause harm, shame or pain to its target. People who use these words anticipate the harmful results they will achieve and use them for that specific purpose. There are some words that make me cringe because of my unique negative experience with them, just as the "C" word does for many, many people. If you hate being called a "C", you are entitled to your feelings and I respect them. I respect them enough to refrain from using that word.

I am saying that in order to have the right to consider yourself a feminist and know that it is legitimate, you should, among many other things:
-Not use words of derogation (including the big "C") that perpetuate the notion that anything associated with the female is automatically inferior by sole virtue of that female identification.
-Not use a highly-charged, oppressive word like the "C" word in order to effect some anticipated sympathy or gain for yourself.
-Not use such words as bludgeons against other women in an attempt to enhance the perception of your own worth as compared to the target woman.
-Not throw your sister under a bus in order to attempt to appear clever in the estimation of a purported man whom you believe will enjoy the nasty pageant you devise for his amusement.

You have every right to hate to be called the "C" word, whether your personal outlook reflects a feminist or any other perspective. But you can't turn around and write that word on a pennant and trot it out for display when it suits you. Then, I have every right to believe that you are not what you would seem.

Anonymous said...

Hello Mayo, SS, Amy, Ergo, Elena, TJ, Carrie, anons 1 through 5, everyone!

How are you all? Good and not miffed, I hope!

I am miffed! Very miffed!

Ohhhh.... oh no! No, no, no, no and NO!!!

We can not let this happen again. We have to start all over with lawsuits now. Well, this just totally SUCKS!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Wendy,
I have some terrible news. Today, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced that he would follow the discredited path of the Bush Administration and delist wolves in the Northern Rockies and Greater Yellowstone region.
This is a stunning development, just six weeks into the Obama Administration. This delisting paves the way for almost 1000 wolves to be killed under deadly state management plans in Idaho and Montana.
The killing could begin in just weeks.
As I write this, we are already preparing an emergency legal challenge to this harmful proposal -- and we’ll be in court as quickly as possible. But we need your help for the legal fight ahead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am pissed off!

Well, SOME of us did see this coming. Sure did! It's all in the eyes.

Yep, never trust a politician. NONE OF THEM (Except Bobby Jindal. That man is gooooood. Kept all the "promises" he's made ~ so far!)

Anyone who would like to help the wolves (AGAIN ~ since we now DO have to start all over thanks to the new adminstration), please click the link below.

Emergency Appeal: Support the Northern Rockies and Greater Yellowstone Wolf Legal Defense Fund

Pfft... politicians! What a lying bunch of power hungry you know whats. That is really how I feel about politicians!

Have a great night, everyone! Thank you to anyone who supports wolf preservation!

No matter how cold and dark some try to make this place

No matter how uncomfortable they try to make other people

No matter how many times anyone hears "you are less than me"

there are those willing to stand up and say "no they are not less than you".

The warmth and light are still here.

well considering I missed last night I had better make up for it LOL, What song to choose?? well one stands out in the current situation I find myself in. A song called Tojo by a great band called the Hoodoo Gurus
To fill you in so you understand, 3 years after my experience with Cyclone Althea(christmas eve 1971) a cyclone named Traceyhit a north Aust city called Darwin (christmas 1975), with much greater damage. It uses the parallel between the push by Japanese PM Hideki Tōjō in WWII and the bombing of Darwin which never fell during the war, and the actual massive devastation wrought by the cyclone many years later. It was also inspired by a song called "Santa never made it to Darwin" which was released in 1975 as a fund-raiser.

Tracey.Tracey was angry.
a bad mood.A bad mood.
I told her,"it`s an ill wind
Blows no good.Blows no good."

Then she told me:
"Tojo never made it
Tojo never made it to Darwin.
Tojo never made it
Tojo never made it to Darwin."

I said,"Tracey, won`t you listen - this is Christmas!
Don`t you go.Don`t you go."
She said,"David, believe me,I wouldn`t miss this for the world
I`ve got to blow.I`ve got to blow."

She said again:
"Tojo never made it
Tojo never made it to Darwin
Tojo never made it
Tojo never made it to Darwin."

Now she`s gone,gone,gone
Just like the wind.
I just sigh,I just sigh,
But I`m dreaming that I`m gleaming
In her eye,in her eye.

But I`ll always hear:
"Tojo never made it
Tojo never made it to Darwin
Tojo never made it
Tojo never made it to Darwin."

That year,Santa never came.

SS
hey mate! well for you it a bit of a sappy song, but it sprang to my mind seeing as it's the wind we are expecting during the night
Patrick Swayze
She's Like the Wind
She's like the wind through my tree
She rides the night next to me
She leads me through moonlight
Only to burn me with the sun
She's taken my heart
But she doesn't know what she's done

Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind

[SOLO]

I look in the mirror and all I see
Is a young old man with only a dream
Am I just fooling myself
That she'll stop the pain
Living without her
I'd go insane

Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind

Feel your breath on my face
Your body close to me
Can't look in your eyes
You're out of my league
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
(She's like the wind)
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)

so what's going to happen? "the answer my friend is blowing in the wind..."
well hoping I'll be able to get on tomorrow and let you know how we are going and what our likely experience will be, they are suggesting it may go further south, but have to wait and see.
It kinda makes you prioritise what is really important, if you ahve to choose what you will def try to save from damage. My big one if photos and my camera. Heck everything else can be washed, dried out or replaced. Even the house if it came to that. But after personal safety it's my photographs I really treasure. So maybe spare us a thought if you have the chance. If not us directly it'll most likely make landfall somewhere, so someone will be affected.
I have people I can contact in case my net is out, and I'll do so any chance I get. But here's hoping in the morning the threat will be over and we'll all be fine. They say the next 24 hrs will make a big difference.

goodnight blogbelieve, see you in my morning

Good morning/afternoon/night Mayo, SS, Ergo, Safe, Elena; various anons, watchers and lurkers, everyone!

I just had a wonderful hour and a half of sleep! I'm good to go now. Well, except that what I have to do today is not so good. Another funeral. Ms. B from next door passed away early Friday morning.

She found out 4~5 years ago that she had several blockages and needed open heart surgery. The thought of that surgery scared her so much, she never had it. Several people who went through the surgery talked to her about it; but, she was still scared. We reminded her that my dad had been through TWO open heart surgeries and did fine through and after each one ~ she said she would think about it. Her doctor told her that sooner or later she was going to have a massive, fatal heartattack; but, she still refused to have the surgery.
:(

The poor woman was just terrified of having her chest cut open and there was nothing anyone could do to convince her to have surgery.

Anyway, that's how I will spend my morning. Paying my respects to her and being there for her family. I was very good friends with one of her daughters and her son growing up.

If anyone would like to accuse me of being emotionally manipulative for mentioning any of that, you can just save it. Thanks!

As for the anon who accused my niece, Bre/AkuRoku, of accusing them of being K with this comment:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
have a nice day k!
There ya go! Someone accuses me of being K. Assumptions and generalizations again.
Maybe I should jump to conclusions and assume most of the anons are Aku.
But I won't, because that's silly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't think there was any MAYBE about! You did jump to conclusions. The wrong conclusion at that!

You were right about one thing though. It is silly! Ridiculous and juvenile too!

I've always felt that way about "anons" who accuse other "anons" of being a named person. How ridiculous is it when one "anon" says sign in *insert name here* to another "anon"?

It's sort of like someone named "Harry Asscrack" making fun of someone else named "Chris P. Nutts". I think it's hilarious (and quite juvenile ~ as is my sense of humor at times). Of course, it could just be me who finds it ridiculous, silly, juvenile AND funny!

That is all for now. Have a great day, everyone!

Martha: Thank you for being there for my niece!

Bre: Thank you for being there for Martha! I love you!!!!

Ergo: Stay safe out there in Australia!
*smoooooooch*

Anima: *more hugs*

Sweetcheeks: *kisses*

Guys, this is the latest update from the Australian Meterological Bureau on the Cyclone heading towards Ergo.

Cyclone Hamish is now a Category 5 Cyclone. The media is being asked to start broadcasting the sirens to get people out. Very destructive winds, high waves and flooding are expected.

You can see the Cyclone on the right hand side of the map. It's HUGE!

However, according to satellite radar, it's showing that the cyclone is still off the coast of Mackay, which is the closest to where she is right now.

I'm hoping to give her a call in a few hours, I don't want to wake them up, as it's 3:30 in the morning her time right now. I think I'll hit them around 5 am, so I don't cut short any sleep they may have gotten.

Hello. Stopping by. I am pretty much exhausted.

Wendy - Stay safe!

Anima - ♥ My thoughts are with you and your family *hugs*

FASC! - Good to see you about! :)

I'll be back when I can. The anon storm makes me want to avoid the place, though I miss the people here.

I wrote this a while ago and didn't post it as the negativity was ripe in here, but here goes:

March 1, 2009 Hi - Sorry I have been gone so long.

I have been trying to help out my close friends who live near me.

One needed my consolation as she deals with her 14 year old autistic son. She has to brush his teeth for him and other things Moms do for younger children. She's a strong woman but she was very sad about it the other day.

Another friend's daughter was stalked by a known pedophile. He's a guy that abducted an East Indian girl from an area near 8 mile not too long ago. Apparently Nancy Grace only covered the story for a moment as the child isn't blond-haired and blue-eyed. The local news hasn't mentioned the story as far as I know. Police and school officials seem singularly unconcerned. And have not taken steps required by law, might I add, including notifying other neighborhood schools. (They have since warned parents, but they waited a week before bothering, while children were at risk.) And my friend's child (who is Native Amer.) is not the only girl who's been stalked in that area.

Her brother and another tween-age boy got her to safety.

Another friend called me last night. Her toddler was released from a clinic with a 105 degree fever. I wanted to offer to drive to the emergency room, however the car that I paid a mechanic to fix is doing the same thing it was before and I couldn't risk getting stuck at the side of the road in this frigid weather with a toddler whose fever was dangerously high. (She's better now - this was last week - and my friend fixed my car.)

I just highly recommend helping neighbors and friends when you can.

It makes everyone feel better in the long run.

Mayo - I would not blame you if you didn't read here just now, but I understood you wrote 'permanent vacation' some time ago?

Anyway, if you choose not to return, I do understand, though I would miss this place. I noticed that even with the rampant negativity, there are bright lights within the comments here, you just have to look harder to find them.

♥ MJ

PS - Thanks to MissT, Ergo, Solly, FASC and the anon who wished me well. I am better now, thank you, just tired. And your good wishes are appreciated.

I haven't caught up completely and I am not sure I will.

PS - BC - *HUGS* and good luck with school!

Much love to you all - and a giant *hug* as well!

Hi Amy and Miranth! I'm back from the funeral. Her family is taking it very hard; but, they have each other to hold onto...

Thanks for the cyclone update, Amy. That doesn't sound or look good at all. Has anyone heard from Ergo? E~mail, phone call, text message... anything?

Miranth: *huge hug*

Anon616 said...

*waits patiently (albeit nervously) until Amy calls Ergo or Ergo contacts one of us*

Amyranth said...

I've just phoned Ergo and got her answering machine, I let her know that I checked out the most recent warnings, and things are not looking good. I told her that I hoped she was getting out as soon as possible, and for her to give me a call whenever she could.

I hope they're okay. According to a radar map I've found, the storm is just now hitting a town north of her, so they are most probably getting the winds and rain right now.

I hope, I hope that they got out. And I hope nothing happens to the house when they're gone.

Anon616 said...

Thanks for the update, Amy! I'm hope, hope, hoping with you! (I know, I have nerve.)

They were going to try to ride it out at home weren't they? Maybe they did change their minds when they saw how bad it would be. If not, I hope they're in a high area and are safe and secure!

Anyone here?

Anon616 said...

Hi Sweetcheeks!!!! I'm here, there, elsewhere... doing some networking whilst worrying about Ergo !

How are you? I hope your Saturday has been better than mine!

Can you believe this BS with the wolves? Can you? I can't. We had this all settled; but, NO. A new guy and his "oh so wonderful/saviors of the world/representatives of all that is good and right" (Did anyone buy that BS? I mean, really?) had to take over and decide killing wolves was, indeed and in fact, a GOOD IDEA! Umm hmmm....

Well, we are getting there! See:

Nearly 1,000 wolves like this could be killed unless we can stop a new proposal to eliminate vital protections for these majestic animals.

Amount raised:
$114,936.85

Amount needed:
$160,000.00

Go wolves!!!! Hey, we could set a hungry pack loose in the White...
nah...
that would be cruel (and wrong too), wouldn't it?!

Okay, back to networking and defaming all politicians (except Bobby Jindal)!
:P

Just a quick note

Still haven't heard from Ergo. She was supposed to speak to me when she woke in the morning (her morning) but I still no word.

Really hope to hear from her soon.

Anon616 said...

I'm not happy about that news, Elena. She should be up by now!

Well, thanks for letting us know. They could be without electricity and phone lines... including cells. I know that's not a good situation to be in; but, I'm hoping that's what it is and nothing more...

Amyranth said...

Elena, glad you posted.

She told me last night that if the weather was bad when they got up she'd probably have no internet service. So, I'm not surprised that I haven't seen her online, but I've also called her already and she hasn't called back. However that was around 5am her time, and I bet you she was ready to kill me.

Anon616 said...

What about Cupcake? Has anyone heard anything from her? I just checked her twitter and there are no updates.

elena said...

Hey guys I'm at work and it's very busy but I'll keep checking for Ergo news and I'll let you all know if I hear from her.

Ironically enough Wendy, I think the one of us who talks to Cuppy once in awhile is Ergo. But Cuppy is on the opposite side of Australia as well, she's nowhere near this storm.

Ergo - I hope everything is okay your end. Fingers crossed for you.

Anon616 said...

Hi GS! How've you been? All's good with you, I hope!

Amy: Thanks for Cupcake location. I never knew what part of Australia she lived in! I know she's been away a lot lately. I'm hoping she's not "away" closer to the cyclone now! Hopefully, she kept her beautiful little self a safe distance from Hamish!

Elena: Thanks, again, to you too! I'm trying to find news on the cyclone but there's really not much new news out there yet.

Anon616 said...

Good grief! Did ya'll know they had an earthquake yesterday?

FRIGHTENED Victorians left shaken by quake measuring 4.6 and spanning more than 200km.

Poor Ergo!

Anon616 said...

Okay, I'm breathing a little sigh of relief right now. I have just checked the maps and it doesn't look like the cyclone has reached Ergo's part of Australia yet (she lives way, way south). Hopefully, they decided to evacuate and that's why we haven't heard from her.

gnothi seauton said...

Hi Six. Yep, all is well here. No news this end on the cyclone either.

I just realized it was Mayo talking about Kapunua "squealing like a pig" when Wendy called her a cunt a while back and "throwing her sister under a bus" for being upset because Wendy called her that.

Looks like the honeymoon is finally over. ^___^

Thanks, GS! I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay! I have to go do something. What, I don't know; but, it might involve an early glass of red wine.

I'll check back in a few hours. Stay safe... everyone!

Also, isn't it funny that a band, who claimed to wanting to save their fans' lives, attends a suicide themed party?

I'm not stupid and I know that a person, who tells everyone in public that they're feminist and want to fight sexism, is still likely to use the word 'cunt', slut, whore etc., but the thing is that they shouldn't be so FUCKING STUPID to get caught doing so IN PUBLIC.
The same goes with telling fans in public that they're taking their fears and problems seriously and that they are here to save their lives etc. and then go and attend a party wich clearly mocks the act of committing suicide. And again IN PUBLIC.

How fucking stupid must they be that the assholes of MCR always get caught by contradicting every single statement of the past?

Well, you have to consider that this is a band (MSI) who thinks they can redefine words like "cunt", "faggot", "nigger", etc. by using them a lot. And Lindsey thinks she can redefine feminism. I suppose they think by poking fun at suicide they can redefine it as well.

That just goes to show you how stupid they really are.

Maybe, that's also why Billy didn't attend because he found the theme to be disrespectful towards Kurt?

That probably did have something to do with it. I also think Billy realizes that Courtney is a lost cause and he doesn't want to be associated with her anymore. After all, the woman is regarded as a joke in intelligent circles (which automatically excludes MSI and Gerard, who don't have one brain cell between them).

I imagine Billy wasn't terribly thrilled with Courtney's "how dare you make my little nine year old girl (or whatever age she thinks she is) cry!" guilt trip either. That just made Frances seem like a spoilt brat who always gets her way.

Not just MSI. MCR seems to think the same thing these days. Bob and Frank have both used the word cunt and Gerard goes along with everything MSI does and Mikey goes along with everything Gerard does.
What a bunch of morons!

March 7, 2009 9:06 AM

^^ Well, I'm from central Jersey and I'm a senior in highschool, most of the kids in my school detest MCR, or like them but probably won't admit it. But the reason why I said that is because most of my friends were avide MCR listeners, (maybe that's why we became friends) and they don't seem to mind this new change that they have gone under... Even though, I explained my point of view the best way I could.

They don't mind MCR changing and I don't either but I don't want them to change into something negative or tey to be something that they are not...and they don't seem to see the negative aspects of their changes.

I don't know, sometimes I feel that I'm making a big deal out of this, but honestly... I already miss the old MCR, from Bullets to the Black Parade. I don't know, I just have a feeling that it's never going to be the same again. That's what really sucks about it.

And of course their attitudes make it worse.

And when did Quinn say that? Was it to one of those girls or did they know about it from hearsay?

From what I remember, the two girls met The Used backstage at one of their shows. They had taken a tin of brownies with them and shared them with the band. They started chatting with the guys and somehow MCR came up in the conversation (I think maybe they had played the same venue not long before or something like that) and Quinn started off a rant about how full of shit Gerard is and how he was still a total cokehead. He even drew a picture for them (I think on the brownie tin?) of some guy with weird, coked out eyes. One of the girls posted the picture on her lj of the tin and her ticket that Quinn had autographed.

All of this happened sometime in 07. I'm thinking shortly before PR, but I could be mistaken about that. It might have been a bit earlier in the year.

GS, Black Dawn is book #8 of young adult series that came out about 10 years ago(There's 9 books so far, but there is going to be another one coming out next summer I believe, although it's going to be about 1,000 pages long) The main plot revolves around witches, vampires, shapeshifters, and finding soulmates and such.

It's one of my favorites.

well the cyclone is getting so the eye is almost opposite us and so far so good
no new warnings and there isn't any bad wind, so it may miss us.
I hope so but I really hate to think what'll happen if it hits someone, it's a really nasty system, our weather channel even described it as a "mother of a cyclone" it's one that could destroy a lot of property and even kill people I really hope as it gets to cooler water it'll lose strength

we all hope so too, it looks like it has stayed far enough off the coast to not affect us, so I am having a cautious sigh of relief, though I won't relax until it's blown out, they have circled back and looped about in the past

how was your day?

toujours said...

i hope it dissipates very soon, ergo, before it can do any damage! but it's good to see you here and hear what's going on. :)

i had a good day. trawled through antique shops with my sister and brother-in-law (got myself a great brass box to make my new sewing kit), and then saw "watchmen" in the afternoon.

i finally got to hear "desolation row", there in the theatre. smiling all through the credits. :)

ergoproxy said...

did you like the movie? I've heard it's very good,we were thinking of going into town to see it

any nice antiqes?

toujours said...

i loved it -- even though it pushed my comfort zone as regards the violence (but i'm very adept at watching the far bottom corner of the screen during the squeaminsh scenes. lol) -- after i came out of the theatre i wasn't able to really hold a conversation for awhile, my head was so full of what i had seen.

as far as antiques -- i saw a couple of great drop-leaf farmhouse-style kitchen tables, and an art deco wardrobe that still had all the bakelite label in the interior bins. also a haori with the most lovely pale rose bamboo pattern painted on the lining...*wistful sigh*

mostly i was looking for items for my various travel kits that i'm assembling, while my brother-in-law bought a few more bottles for his collection. it's fun, and i always like to chat with the owners. you learn neat things that way.

anyway, to the anon who wanted me to draw up a map of blogbelieve: i've actually been working on a floorplan of the main areas for the last coupl of weekends. lol

i'll post it when i'm done.

the maybe admittedly weird thing or stupid thing is that i really enjoy drawing floorplans. and maps. there for awhile i was working on this hyoooge map of my s.c.a. kingdom (which is the biggest kingdom in the s.c.a. anyway -- takes in most of canada plus the pacific northwest). i was tracing the coastline froma road atlas, and then marking in the main roads and branches -- the baronies and cantons and colleges of the kingdom.

it was so much fun. sometimes, i would get so focussed on the work it was almost like i was a visiting those areas. and inbetween working on it, i had it tacked to the wall in the dinig room -- it was about a half-dozen sheets of typing paper glued together at the time i had to pack it away.

so, making a floorplan is just more of the same hobby, really it's fun trying to figure it all out.

mayo,

have you ever seen the movie "amélie"? it's pretty amazing -- i mean, suicidal goldfish? *grin*

it's a charming movie chock full of charming moments, almost impossible to pick just one. but one bit i liked was the faux documentary style of narration, how the narrator told the viewers most seriously what the likes and dislikes of each character were -- and they were such small things! so sweetly done...and we all have little things that make us happy, don't we? things that we would hardly even classify as pleasures, because they are almost unrecognized by our own selves.

like, there's one of mine that i'm indulging in right now -- the sound and feel of typing quickly. i like the tappy-tappy-tapping. i also like accidentally waking up early in the morning, and going outside to watch the sunrise. i like the quiet sounds of the birds, and the sweet smell of the morning air.

hmmm.

i also like walking in time to the music in my headphones. tpb, in particular, is great for that, actually. all those martial beats. *grin*

you have them, too, i know you do mayo. everyone does. think about them. can you identify them, those little things that make you happy every time you do them? is it spreading the peanut butter perfectly on the bread? or the feeling of putting on your favorite jacket? or maybe there's a certain pen you like to write with more than any other, because the ink flows perfectly.

it's good to know these things, don't you think?

at the very least, it's amusing to figure them out. *grin*

good night, mayo. sweet dreams, and may many small happinesses be yours tomorrow.

toujours said...

ergo, it's just the main floor of the castle, actually -- the gathering room and the kitchen and the stairs to the bedrooms, etc. i've added a few things that seemed to fit (like bay windows, and the bathroom we never use. lol) i'll have it done maybe this weekend, or the next. *hee*

Mayo

So how’s it going Vacation Boy? I gotta tell you that today while I was out searching for books I checked the blog on my phone and saw that you still hadn’t posted and then I thought to myself, well he’s on vacation. Then my mind really went in a weird direction. I totally got this visual of a guy wearing dark sunglasses, Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirt and a Panama hat. It just seemed kinda weird to me. Not that I’m saying you’re not a Bermuda short kinda guy, cause you might be, but damn it in the visual the guy was wearing socks with sandals. I totally cringed. Please Mayo, tell me you don’t wear socks with sandals. There is just something wrong with that picture. I know some people do it but with shorts? I’m trying hard to get another visual of you on vacation. That one isn’t working for me. Anyway I hope you’re enjoying your vacation. Notice I didn’t say permanent vacation because to me that’s an oxymoron. A vacation is leisure time away from work devoted to rest or pleasure. So if it’s permanent it ain’t a vacation. Okay I’m not debate this at all. Back on track – I hope you are mentally in a good place right now. You know, here’s an idea. How about you send us a little postcard. Just so the folks back home don’t worry and so we know you’re having a good time. Just a thought.

Well the lightning storm seems to have passed now. I should get caught up on my computer work but I got a whole bunch of comics and damn there are some good ones. I’ve already read “”Living With The Dead” There were just 3 issues but I really enjoyed them. Oh and I also found a copy of “Alice Cooper.” Loved it. Also in the bunch was #1 of “Neverwhere” and several issues of “The Dreaming.” I really want to read these but I have issue 9 through 20. I don’t want to start them until I get the first 8. I’m hoping I’ll find them at the comic convention I’m going to at the end of this month. And yet again I’m rambling. So off I go to read “”Desperadoes Banners Of Gold”.

You take care, okay?

Night Mayo

O_o

goodnigth elena glad the lightning left, I was getting worried it may have been worse that you'd thought

Mayo
well I feel a lot more relaxed for myself tonight, though still concerned for others, I'll keep the blog up to date briefly as it goes for those interested.
And I want to echo the "please tell me you don't wear socks and sandals" please, please don't or Crocs with socks I don't care how comfortable they are!!
So what to choose for a song...hmmmm. So I just randomly clicked on the letter K in the song lyric site and looked and there it was !!!
The song that sent a thousand young boys hearts a flutter with the first stirrings of lust (well the film clip anyway)
Kate Bush - Babooshka
She wanted to test her husband.
She knew exactly what to do:
A pseudonym to fool him.
She couldn't have made a worse move.

She sent him scented letters,
And he received them with a strange delight.
Just like his wife
But how she was before the tears,
And how she was before the years flew by,
And how she was when she was beautiful.
She signed the letter

"All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!
All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!"

She wanted to take it further,
So she arranged a place to go,
To see if he
Would fall for her incognito.
And when he laid eyes on her,
He got the feeling they had met before.
Uncanny how she
Reminds him of his little lady,
Capacity to give him all he needs,
Just like his wife before she freezed on him,
Just like his wife when she was beautiful.
He shouted out, "I'm

All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!
All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!
All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!"

sing (or whatever) along
much love EP xx

SS
by Kate Bush also, one of her loveliest I think
The Man With the Child in his Eyes
("He's here! He's here!
He's here! He's here!")

I hear him, before I go to sleep
And focus on the day that's been.
I realise he's there,
When I turn the light off and turn over.

Nobody knows about my man.
They think he's lost on some horizon.
And suddenly I find myself
Listening to a man I've never known before,

Telling me about the sea,
All his love, 'til eternity.

Ooh, he's here again,
The man with the child in his eyes.
Ooh, he's here again,
The man with the child in his eyes.

He's very understanding,
And he's so aware of all my situations.
And when I stay up late,
He's always waiting, but I feel him hesitate.

Oh, I'm so worried about my love.
They say, "No, no, it won't last forever."
And here I am again, my girl,
Wondering what on Earth I'm doing here.
Maybe he doesn't love me.
I just took a trip on my love for him.

Ooh, he's here again,
The man with the child in his eyes.
Ooh, he's here again,
The man with the child in his eyes.

sing along
lotsa love EP xx

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night Mayo, SS, Ergo, Elena, TJ, Amy, Sweetcheeks, GS, anon from Seven's place; various other anons, watchers and lurkers!

ERGO!!!!! I'm so happy you are okay. (Yes, that is a bit of a delayed reaction ~ here; but, it is true and must express my joy ~ here!!!)
*smoooooooch*

GS: It's really great to see you back!!! I forgot to say that yesterday afternoon.
*blushes*

Sweetcheeks: Thank you!!!! What do you have planned for today? Is it warm enough to put Chocolate back outside yet?

Amy and Elena: Thank the both of you too (for the updates yesterday)!

Hmmm.... I know there was something else. Maybe I'll think of it later. Until then...

Have a great day, everyone!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

"Babooshka-ya-ya!", Ergo? Can I go back to singing ABBA for you?
;P

And, I remembered what it was that I forgot!

Did you all hear that Lil Wayne's next cd is going to be Rock/METAL??!!! I kid you not! Lil Wayne's a rocker, soon to be an "official" rock n roll artist! See:

Lil Wayne's forthcoming rock-inspired album 'REBIRTH', which is due for U.S. release on May 19, will feature a collaboration between the rapper and Fall Out Boy.

I need to hear some "samples" from this and hear them soon!!!

I think that is all for now.

*blows kisses to blog believe*

One more thing:

*shakes head*

Universal, Universal, Universal...
What are you thinking? The one song that was "released" rose to #15 on The Hot 100 chart and #16 on the BbBU R&B/Hiphop chart.

Does the term "crossover artist" mean anything to anyone, anymore? Crossover artist does usually = bigger profits for all concerned. Hmmm...

Rumor has been circulating in the media, claiming that Universal refuse to release Lil Wayne's rock-themed album 'REBIRTH'.

Okay, that's really all for now. I have to run!

*blows final round of kisses for now*
