tic-tac-toe

Nothing provokes me like someone trying to tell me what I can or can’t do. And I am not talking about “Eat your vegetables”, “Take out the trash”, "Don't run a red light", "Don't steal shit", or "Don't stick a knife in someone" (well maybe the red light thing, once). That stuff is important and I get that. What I mean is when someone is attempting to assert control over me, primarily for their own gains or because they consider my actions irrelevant, then I am full-on instigated.

In fact, I can be a bit immature when confronted with authority. A holdover from adolescence, I presume. For the most part, because I am an adult I am able to identify when the limitations being placed on me are legitimate and necessary. And I bite my tongue.

But, nothing pleases me more than to shove it in the face of whatever or whoever attempts to assert unnecessary control over me. Tell me I’m too old to do something, to act a certain way, then you can bet I’ll be first in line. Tell me what I say is irrelevant and I’ll carry on until I find an ear. Attempt to limit my behavior because you don’t consider me worthy and I’ll increase my efforts until you are red faced.

What amazes me is that they (those attempting control) do not understand that their assertions invariably expose their hot buttons. See, now I know what pisses you off and I can be an asshole, so there you go. But, like I said, I can be a bit immature.

Also, I find it unnecessary for someone to belittle a person because their opinion does not run parallel to their own. Typically, name calling will get you nowhere. We are each entitled to our own beliefs, and our opinions will undoubtedly run counter to other's. And if I don't agree, I'll let you know. I'll give you my point of view and perhaps some facts that I may have squirreled away for the occasion to back it up.

Usually this works and we can agree to disagree. But, if you are maliciously handing me my head over and over about whatever burns your ass, then I will most likely ignore you.

That works in two ways. First, I don't hear you any longer. I can continue my life knowing that I made an attempt to express my opinion. And hopefully you now realize you are not going to change mine. Second, I don't hear you any longer.

Then later, under my breath, I'll call you an idiot. And let's face it, if after all that you still think you can change my opinion...well now, we don't need to go there. Just for the record, I won't try to change yours, either. Your opinion, that is.

With all that being said, (and feel free to ignore any of it) please keep in mind that I am a bit of a smart ass. And I have been known to dish out a good natured hard-time. If you poke me, I'll poke you back...sometimes I poke first.

I think I read somewhere something along the lines of...we need to be able to best deal with those things that impact us emotionally, and we need to handle them ourselves. As individuals the decisions we make are what we can control. The rest is up to the rest.

p.s. ask yourself.

How ya been? You know I feel sorta bad cause I feel like with all that has been going on with me I haven’t really asked you how you are doing. I mean, yeah, I say I hope things are going well in your world and of course I do mean that. But it’s been awhile since you posted and so you know me, I start to worry. I can’t help it that’s just how I roll. So are you okay? If not, please remember you have a whole bunch of really nice people here who care about you. We may not be able to really help but maybe just knowing we care helps a little?

Anyway, since that’s really all I can say about that I guess I’ll tell you about how my casino trip went with my mom. Wow, did she have fun! We checked into our room (they comp me 4 or 5 nights a month and yeah, that does mean I go there too much) then went down to the casino. It was about 5 pm and we didn’t leave the casino floor until about 5:30 am. Not kidding we really were there that long. Mom didn’t want to leave she was having so much fun. I actually lost her a few times. The woman wanders off and while I’m short my mom is even shorter so finding her in a packed casino is quite a challenge. She’s shorter than most of the slot machines. That and I think she was hiding from me. Each time I found her she was just sitting there having a conversation with the person next to her. And unbelievably each time I found her she had 2 or 3 hundred dollars racked up on the machine. Did I mention my mom is lucky? It’s crazy. Then on top of all that I figured out she doesn’t know how to play half of the machines and so she wasn’t even betting all the lines and still had that much money. I shutter to think how much she would have won if she’d been playing all the lines. But to her it didn’t matter. She was just happy winning so she could keep playing and being there chatting with people. Finally I told her we had to get some sleep. She agreed but when we got to the room she found a dog show on Animal Planet and we watched that. Okay, I can go on a few hours of sleep cause that’s what I do most nights but mom needs her sleep. Well hell maybe she doesn’t. She was having a good time and that’s what’s important. She already wants to know when where going next month. I’m glad I can do this for her. I hope we get to go many, many more times.

So that’s my story. Just thought I’d share it with you.

Take care, okay?

Night Mayo

Everyone, I'm sorry I can't stay but more drama here tonight.

Ergo, I saw on the news what is going on. So tragic. I'll e-mail you tomorrow. Stay safe.

Goodnight everyone.

Is Kapunua being forced to go to China? No. She's choosing to go to China. What happened to principle?

You're refusing to see that point.

You are right about one thing. Comparing the power and influence one of the world's largest and strongest powers to that of a rock band is not logical.

It would make much more of a statement for her and her causes to refuse to go to China
on principle
than her refusal to watch a free video or buy a 20 dollar cd and tshirt.

Boycotting China did not seem illogical to Steven Spielberg, will.i.am, Mia Farrow, Uma Thurman, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Hillary Clinton, Nobel Peace Prize Desmond Tutu.

I guess they're all illogical like me.

They must feel throwing away all their band merchandise is a much better way of helping improve the human condition.

Goodnight, Amy. I am glad they know how to fix it, but make sure they are careful! (especially if imbibing!)

I hope the wee one is ok.

That would be the equivalent of Kapunua and co throwing away their merchandise and not supporting certain bands in the narrow little rock world. That is not illogical to them.

In other words, small steps do make an impact.

They must feel throwing away all their band merchandise is a much better way of helping improve the human condition.

Ah, but it may make them feel damn good.

Looks like you have just countered your argument again.

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with your if it makes you feel good do it logic

as long as it applies to everyone. Across the board.

It's double standards I have a problem with.

miranth said...

Ergo - Thank you. She did the steam room trick and it helped a bit. She has RSV, so its important to keep an eye on her, which her parents are doing, but they will call EMS if there is any change.

I just wish my car didn't die on me so we could have had her checked immediately, just in case!

And I hope you hear good news about your friends tomorrow!

Goodnight now.

Hey Mayo, I hope you are ok? Take care of yourself and I hope to see you around here soon.

Sorry I have not had much to say here. Emotionally drained by circumstances beyond my control, just now.

Life is like that.

And, therein, I am sure we can find consensus.

PS - GS, nice to see you stop by.

And anima - I am glad the business sounds like its doing well.

Bye for now everyone!

What's that? If it makes you feel good do it? Is that your logic now.

That depends on what makes you feel good, and keep to your principles. Perfect logic.

Bigger steps make a bigger impact anon. It's not that difficult to throw a few cds and tshirts away.

Maybe. However if you multiply that by hundreds, not buying the merch, not supporting the music, then the impact will be felt. By the label at least.

Saying yes to boycotting China would be a much bigger step and have a greater impact.

That depends on who is doing the boycotting. What message would she be sending?

And it's not like the country is reliant on external tourism, there is enough internal demand that drives the economy of China. It seeks reform, it wants a more open market.

How best could she make a say about what she objects to? Maybe by supporting Amnesty International or various other groups, or donating to orphanages and poorer families that find it difficult to support females. There is a big demand there.

This I think makes far more impact, and makes much more sense.

Anonymous said...

Maybe. However if you multiply that by hundreds, not buying the merch, not supporting the music, then the impact will be felt. By the label at least.

If you multiply her refusing to go to China by thousands, not pumping any money into their economy, not promoting China by being excited about going there, then the impact will be felt.

In other words, take a tougher stance against China like the Obama adminstration is doing.

How best could she make a say about what she objects to?

The same way she does with musicians and Walmart. Don't buy their products. Don't go.

That would be the best and strongest way to express her stance against child slavery, genocide, forced abortion, unequal treatment for women and minorities and animal cruelty. All of which she has vehemently spoken out against. Here.

Double standards and hypocrisy. That's what it's about.

Anonymous said...

Anon, this debate could continue indefinitely.

If you multiply her refusing to go to China by thousands, not pumping any money into their economy, not promoting China by being excited about going there, then the impact will be felt.

Unlike the music industry whose primarily objective is to get a return, China is more not driven by the tourism dollar. It seeks new ideas, information, foreign investment. Closing off a country to the democratic ideas and practices of the western world, may make them far more intolerant.

In other words, take a tougher stance against China like the Obama adminstration is doing.

They are a new administration. With a new presidency comes a new agenda and new rules. This especially applies to belligerent countries. How tough they will be, and how long for, is a wait and see situation.

Now it's time for my beauty sleep.

Goodnight anon.

Obama Administration to take firm stance against China's exchange rate policy

New Delhi, Jan 24 :

US Treasury Secretary-elect Timothy Geithner's remarks that China is 'manipulating' its currency, suggests that the Obama Administration will take a firm stance on its economic policies toward Beijing, local analysts said on Friday.

Geithner told senators on Thursday the new administration will press China to change its exchange rate policies, the China Daily reported.

His comments were a clear move away from the stance of the Bush Administration, which did not label China as a currency manipulator.

"The new US government seems to be harsher regarding China's exchange rate policy," Sun Lijian, an economist with Fudan University, said.

"More comments about China violating intellectual property rights and dumping charges on Chinese exporters will follow," he said.

Such statements, along with the accusation about currency manipulation, are designed to pressure China to do more to help the crisis-battered US economy, he said.

"The US is deep in recession. It is in dire need of help from outside," said Ma Ming, an economist with the Beijing Institute of Technology.

After building up a huge deficit with its costly market rescue plans, the US has become increasingly dependent on China and other economies with abundant liquidity to help finance the plans.

China became its largest treasury holder in September, and analysts have said the US now wants Beijing to increase its holdings to provide more liquidity to counter the deficit.

If China toes the US line (to let the Yuan rise further), its exports will take another battering and its economy will worsen, analysts said.

The first official statement of Mr Obama's China policy has emerged on the revamped White House website, in a small section about "Renewing American Diplomacy".

The only comment, after long sections on Afghanistan, Pakistan and Israel, is that Mr Obama will "work to ensure that China plays by international rules", an implicit criticism of China's current behaviour and a suggestion that the US needs to police it.

Mr Obama has also pledged to reverse President Bush's arrangement of "bilateral agreements, occasional summits and ad hoc arrangements, such as the six-party talks on North Korea", a status quo that has been largely successful for the past eight years.

President Bush was well-liked in China because of his candour, according to Dennis Wilder, the former senior adviser for Asia on the National Security Council. According to Mr Wilder, the structure of the six-party talks with North Korea, in which China plays a vital role, was President Bush's "own concept".

He also said that the Chinese relationship with the US had deepened as a result of the co-operation, and that: "It was lots of hard work to get the Chinese off the bleachers and onto the playing field. The Chinese would be happy if we let them off the playing field and back onto the bleachers and I don't think that's in our interests."

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has appointed Kurt Campbell, a Taiwan-friendly former Defence Department official, to head the State Department's East Asia team. His appointment could suggest renewed US support for Taiwan, which the Chinese government sees as its own sovereign territory.

The Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was too soon to see how the Obama administration would treat the island, but noted that the Chinese defence ministry has openly urged Washington to rescind Bush-era arms contracts.

A trade spat between China and the US could also develop after Timothy Geithner, the new Treasury Secretary, insisted that China is a "currency manipulator" and that Mr Obama would "aggressively" use all diplomatic channels to urge it to stop artificially lowering the value of the yuan.

America believes the weak yuan is aiding Chinese exporters at the expense of its own manufacturers.

Frank Gong, an economist at JP Morgan, said: "China should be expecting a very tough relationship with the new administration," he added. "China will be a natural scapegoat for the problems in the US."

Zhao Xiao, the former director of the macroeconomic strategy department of China's Assets Supervision and Administration Committee research centre said Mr Obama was grandstanding. "We should not take him too seriously. Every new American president airs some China-bashing comments, which show their eagerness to win support as well as their lack of experience."

He added: "Mr Obama is still an undergraduate in the high political scene, and it will take some time for him to become a graduate. The former Singaporean prime minister Lee Kwan Yew also does not think highly of him, seeing him as a good presenter but an inexperienced and immature politician.

I think Beijing should take his early comments, good or bad, lightly and wait for him to become more professional."

One sour note emerged, however, with the impounding of $100,000 (£72,000) of souvenirs in the new visitor centre in Washington's Capitol building because one congressman did not want China-made products to be sold. Robert Brady, the leader of the House Administration Committee, said he has forbidden the knick-knacks because "the idea that the Capitol's main gift shop could be selling a model of our Statue of Liberty that is manufactured in China does a disservice to the millions of American workers who are losing their jobs and their ability to support their families."

Oh, but wait! Guess I can't be talking to my religious friends anymore,) that is doing something I find morally objectionable.

Then, I will be leaving america for good. Because they are still torturing, enslaving, hunting, using fur, buying diamonds, animal testing, allowing (and heck, if Sarah Palin had got in, ENCOURAGING) rape, and countless other atrocities.

I guess I can't go to, well, any country, because this anon is pissed that I don't like MCR and find the lead singer to be a tool.

I'll be going to one of the moons of Jupiter to study medicine. Maybe while I'm there I can get some Freedom Fries.

There are a lot of times when you sink to your knees and think nothing will ever change, the fight is too hard and too long and the world is full of prejudice.
Then there's days like today.

Equality and tolerance, they march on, despite the barkings of the religious right. These are the things that will flower and propogate, long after the yappings of Fred Phelps, or Bill O'Reilly, or Ann Coulter are relegated to the trash heaps of history.

So like I said, I guess I'll be leaving this country, too.

Oh my gosh, I am surprised and disappointed in myself for taking this bait. You have just stayed awake all night and then gotten up early to have a go at me again. You keep repeating the same things. I've tried being nice and reasonable with you, Soap. You aren't reading any of my posts to you. You are just spitting vitriol.

I must keep reminding myself of that.

Have a good day anyway. :)

Well! Just when you think you have a day off. I have to finish up my stupid laundry that did not get done yesterday, and then I have to study for two tests tomorrow. I never did get to tune my guzheng. I was going to do that later on tonight, and maybe chill for a bit, but now company is coming over tonight.

This whole "school" thing is a lot harder than I thought it would be. ;D

Also, I've just found out that once I get to clinic, they're going to probably try to make me prescribe stuff that has animal parts in it. What do I do then? I was talking to another girl about this, who doesn't use certain animal parts due to religious reasons. We were wondering if there was a way to go around this. I just don't know.

Another thing I'll have to ask my lecturers about once I get my stuff together. I am about halfway to switching out to the other program and continuing the Master's at a different school. But, I just don't know yet.

Sorry for babbling here. But you know, that's what I do. Writing stuff out helps me work it out. :)

Better get going. Hope you're all having a great day!

Mayonaise said...

I would like to comment. But before I do, I would like to say that my work tends to keep me a bit distracted from current events. That is not to say that I am unaware, but that I could spend more time in efforts to educate myself on what is going on in our world so that I may be a more active change agent.

I write and therefore a good portion of my time is spent in my head. But, I listen and I read as much as I can. And I have people around me who are boundless suppliers of information. I envy their passion to make a difference. In this case mine is there, but must be interpreted and is not so easily recognized. Not even by me.

I am an American. I’ve been around a bit, and I think it is a pretty good place to live. It is the place where I was born, but I could have just as easily been born in Afghanistan, China, or North Korea. For me, it is something I equate to chance and not so much an honor. Hang me.

But, I digress.

I have not forgotten that not too long ago the United States of America participated in the enslavement of millions of Africans and I recognize that at this very moment Americans are bringing slaves from many parts of the world into this country to work in their homes, in their factories, their farms, and in the streets. Americans in the slave trade feed on the fear of individuals who consider life in their present country as death. They offer desperate people the idea that in exchange for a few years of labor they can get to America and have the opportunity for the “fairy-tale” life America offers.

Only, the thing is…many end up paying off their travel debt for the rest of their lives, or beaten, abused, abandoned, or dead. While some people argue that they most likely would have met the same fate in their present country. To that I say, at least it wouldn’t have been a lie in the name of profit.

And, it is not always wise to ignore, or in this case boycott, a situation. Considering China, it may be more prudent to seek out and support an organization that provides information, supplies and promotes change. If we, in this case Americans, refuse to travel to China the foundation for isolation may be set. China may decide to shut their doors to us. Then we would be completely in the dark as to the atrocities that occur there. We would also be without a channel to provide assistance. And, I am reminded of North Korea.

Here in America, we have just come off of an administration that condemned the rationalization that condoms protect against HIV/AIDS by refusing to support any HIV/AIDS program that did not teach abstinence as the primary means to prevent HIV/AIDS, an administration that held the opinion that it is more important to promote “family values” than to dispense condoms to countries that need them.

As if the United States of America should be the moral clock to set your watch by.

But, like I said I am by no means an expert on the human condition. I will leave that to those impassioned individuals who fight tirelessly for human rights. But I won’t be ignorant, either.

Humans have the amazing ability to learn and create. Unfortunately, some have the capabilities of the most horrific moments.

There is no place on Earth you can't find evidence of either.

Anonymous said...

Now, you're already married, right Mayo?

Nah I'm just playing with you son. :)

YES to the things you've just said.

Especially this, which is something that I've tried to explain to people before:

I am an American. I’ve been around a bit, and I think it is a pretty good place to live. It is the place where I was born, but I could have just as easily been born in Afghanistan, China, or North Korea. For me, it is something I equate to chance and not so much an honor. Hang me.

That's how I feel about it, too. i think I might be a little more "out there" than you are on this one, (perhaps,) but I don't get that "national pride" thing. It was, like you said, chance that made us the nationality that we are. It's fine to be proud of your heritage etc. but I think it makes more sense to be proud of the things one achieves rather than where one happened to be born.

That was, in fact, one of the biggest problems I had with this administration. I mean, I had an awful lot of problems with the administration, but that was one of my buttons. I lost a friend to AIDS in college. He was homosexual. The idea that he somehow "got what he was asking for" galled me, galled me.

As if the United States of America should be the moral clock to set your watch by.

This.

There is no place on Earth you can't find evidence of either.

Will I be seeing you on Europa then? ;D

Anonymous said...

Oops, one more thing.

I have not forgotten that not too long ago the United States of America participated in the enslavement of millions of Africans and I recognize that at this very moment Americans are bringing slaves from many parts of the world into this country to work in their homes, in their factories, their farms, and in the streets.

And Native Americans, as well. I know you know that but I always feel compelled to point that out. The destruction of nations upon nations of people, and this is still going on and still flying under the radar. Not just North American Native Indians but indigent Hawaiians as well are still being subjugated. What America did to all of Native America and the ongoing, some still maintain illegal occupation of Hawai'i is another one of our long lists of travesties that is still with us today.

Also I think you are in Gryffindor, Mayo. ;)

Personally Kapunua, I don't give a fuck whether you like MCR or not. But when the reasons and morals for which you claim to be boycotting MCR fail to apply to other situations that are at the very least similar and in some cases worse by several orders of magnitude? You just look like a plain fucking hypocrite.

Hola, Mayonaise, Jules, Anon(s)!

Anonymous said...

Everything we do changes the world in some way. Even on the most minute and basic levels, every little bit of energy you put out there changes something, and creates or destroys something. I don't think there is a way to not change the world, even if all you are doing is minding your business and being yourself. It's just, you can only do your best and hope that the changes are going to be ones that benefit the world.

Now of course, everyone disagrees on what benefits the world and what doesn't, so you could end up in a mental mobius strip, you know, or like an emotional Ouroboros. So you just do your best.

Anonymous said...

Hiya Solly. I'm just about to take my doggies out because it is warmish today. Want to come outside and play with us?

Why is Mayo constantly in bed with her? i will never understand it.

UNLESS Mayo actually really is GV.

I'm starting to believe that more and more.

Anonymous said...

I don't remember Kap calling those people right wing zealots, anon. You purposely are misunderstanding her, AND Mayo, once again.

Anonymous said...

Mayo likes Kapu because he is like her!

Anonymous said...

I don't see him "being in bed with her" either. He agreed with a lot of what she said but he also said that he thought America was pretty good, therefore he also disagreed with some of her ideas. To me it just seems like two people agreeing and disagreeing at the same time without getting on each other's case.

Anonymous said...

Oh, yes, I think that Mayo and I are alike in some ways, and opposites in others. Just like Solly and I are alike in some ways, and not in others.

If those folks want to boycott China--if they feel that is the thing for them to do and it's going to help--then that's great for them! I personally don't think I could, or ever will, hold an entire country and culture responsible for the actions of its government (see everything I've said a few thousand times that you refuse to acknowledge, and some of what Mayo said,) but if that is what they feel like they have to do and they think it will change the world, then that is their choice. I admire Paul McCartney and the others.

And I sure don't see how any of this reflects badly on Mayo. Jeez.

Anonymous said...

No. She and her little friends called me those things for daring to point out her hypocrisy and asking her to explain. For trying to understand how she justify boycotting rockbands and WalMart and not boycotting China.

Perhaps the head of state in another country imposing economic sanctions might be able to do that. However that takes a skilled player, and that game can be dangerous.

No. Somebody accused me of staying up all nite. I guess I'm not allowed to speak my mind. I guess I should just agree with everything she says and does. Not point out the hypocrisy. I should know what happens when you call her out on something. I should know the namecalling, mocking and accusations will follow.

Fine. Don't boycott China. Go buy some diamonds too. Support child slavery. Kill a million people. Wear fur. Eat dogs and cats. Torture prisoners. It's all ok if it's supported by a place or people you like.

Those are the things almost exactly that SHE said.

What I find sad, really truley sad, is that so many people come here with love for this "person", they take care of him, they share their words lives and everything with him. They are having really bad times in their lives. A word or two from him would mean so much to them.

Then there are those who care about the blog and always try to help it.

But he constantly sides with one person, a person who admitted that the blog didn't really mean that much to her.

I will never understand Mayo's selfishness.

9:55, You're right. In the beginning, it did seem like Mayo cared about all of the people here, but either that changed, or Mayo was fucking with everyone from the beginning. To ignore the issues of people who are in pain, or need, while focusing all their attention on one who clearly needs none is not only rude, but telling.

From what I can see, Mayo just doesn't care about the rest of the group. That's a shame. There are and were a lot of good people here that he tossed aside.

Anonymous said...

Proud Jerk, unfortunately it was not YOU who made Mayo come out. And unfortunately it was not anyone who cares about this blog. And unfortunately it was not the people who NEED him.

No, Mayo saw "his woman" getting "picked on" and that is why he came out.

I can't stand the way everyone fawns themselves over him.

That was probably him defending her last night too.

Offend in Every Way
White Stripes

I'm patient of this plan
as humble as I can
I'll wait another day
before I turn away
but know this much is true
no matter what I do
offend in every way
I don't know what to say

You tell me to relax
and listen to these facts
that everyone's my friend
and will be till the end
but know this much is true
no matter what I do
no matter what I say
offend in every way

I'm walking through the door
but they're expecting more
of an interesting man
and sometimes I think I can
but how much can I fake
I'll speak until I break
with every word I say

offend in every way

I think people are beginning to catch on, anon. It's becoming too obvious how he feels (or she, depending on who Mayo is) and what he addresses. What I don't really understand is why. Why encourage a group of people to care about him, telling them they're helping him, that they're his "lovelies" and then treat them the way he does? Unless he REALLY is a cruel person.

An anon long ago asked Mayo what he was going to "do with these people". They warned him about fucking with lives and then hurting those who he claimed to like.

I guess we know now.

Mayo is GV. Kapu is her "Lovely". If only people could see it. GV SAID BOTH OF THESE STATEMENTS HERSELF.

What is it that people keep wanting out of this blog, the people here, or Mayo?

Have you enjoyed your time here?

Have you made friends here?

Have you learned something about others and/or yourself?

Have you helped someone or been helped by someone here?

If you have answered yes to any or all of those questions, then, isn't that enough? Do you really want or need more than that? And if so, why is that Mayo's responsibility?

Anyway, I'm just throwing that out there. Feel free to take your best shot and throw it back at me.

Have a great night, BlogBelieve!

Ergo, hope you have nice Monday, as nice as a Monday can be!

Mayo,

That's your song up there. But you knew that already, right?

Fuck yeah, you did!

Have a rockin' Sunday, whether it be to the Grammy's or Rock of Love Bus!

Love to YOU Always,
S

Perhaps he or she is tired of the place and wants to get rid of all but a few. Maybe that's why he has stopped pretending to like the others, hoping they'll leave on their own. He could just make a new blog for him and the few he likes.

It's funny how a little truth can put things in perspective
Usually I try to hide from all of life's unpleasantries
Like corruption, lies and users
Try to ignore all the abusers
But sometimes truth just slaps me in the face

And I can't hide
Try to deny deception but now I see the other side
I can't hide
Try to regain my innocence but something's changed inside

Funny how perceptions change when you know secret history
Suddenly you see right past the thin veil of diplomacy
Like the smiles that invite glare at you
Like they're filled with spite
The warm handshakes just seem so out of place
And I can't hide

Every person has a dark side please don't show me yours
I don't really think I want to know you can't be trusted
They say the truth will set you free
But they don't say how deep the cut will be
Trust dies and paranoia takes its place
And I can't hide

Here you go, sdock. A song for you.

Well let me tell you. Resident Evil 2 is actually harder than RE4. The controls are so 1998. I have gotten so spoiled with updated controls and an actual goddamn analog stick (if not the Wii, which is very intuitive,) that using a freaking control pad is like WTF. The gameplay is scrolling, jerky and very 2D, yet Leon is freaking eight-way directional, causing me to screw up constantly and make him run (and shoot) the wrong way.

Still, it's a GREAT game. zombies and lickers keep jumping through windows to grab me and I scream like a little girl. It's really scary and really awesome.

*sigh*

Tomorrow is my like 16 thousand hour day. The classes aren't bad and of course it ends after I drop the Empress at home after KF, so it's not a bad day, just a long one. And me, I am not made for such things. My thing is chilling out playing games and eating blackberries (the fruit, not the phone/internet.) I'm way too frail for this stuff. ;D

Well anyway.

Mayo, now you mind me for another minute, if you've got one to spare. I gather that you're busy so I hope you do catch this.

Mayo, I was glad to hear from you today and I agree very much with the stuff you were saying. It's very heartening and you sure do have a way of putting things eloquently where I struggle to, and where I make jokes and get random and lose track of my thoughts.

But, I'm so sure there are times when you're reading my words and going "WTF is this crazy beeatch talking about? She is SO WRONG on that one." That happens with just about everyone. I hope--aww heck, I know--that if and when our ideas are at odds, we wouldn't be at odds.

Also Mayo, I sure am sorry that everytime you go on your own blog to make a comment, drama follows you. I'm also sorry that you can't say anything to, about, around, (insert preposition of choice) me or anyone associated with me, past present or future for better or for worse, without people getting all up in your grill and saying that Mayo this and Mayo that and blah blah blah.

You speak so rarely that sometimes when you do, you know what I hear and visualize? "God" from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Just thought I'd share that visual with you.

Again, I enjoyed what you had to say; it was good to get your perspective on this, that and the other. Those are the topics which interest me so I admit I had a sort of "SQUEE" moment when I was reading. Hang me. ;D

Well, that's about it for me tonight. I was going to play a little more RE2 before bed and hopefully get some crazy dreams, but I made all this progress and then my game crashed and now I'm discouraged. I guess I'll watch Family Guy and hit the scratchy hay, as Splash would have said.

Everyone, have a great night and I'll catch you guys tomorrow. :)

Solly, I agree. It sure does put a lot of responsibility on him and it seems to elevate him above the rest, too. Noblesse oblige shouldn't apply here and the idea of it should not be forced on someone. It's a blog, you know? Anyway Solly, I agree with what you're saying. :)

Oh, I long ago stopped caring what he thinks, anon. That's not the point. The point is that he HAS hurt people, and he is well aware of that hurt. Do you not get upset when someone you thought was your friend turns on you? Who doesn't even say WHY they don't give a shit about you anymore? That's the fucking point. They deserved better.

I'm going to tell Paul McCartney, Steven Speilberg and Desmond Tutu that Mayonaise and Kapunua disagree with them. That some anon on this thing called blogger thinks they're not logical They'll be heartbroken. Devestated. They'll never sleep again.

I guess that means the Chinese government is not logical either. China does boycott the following entertainers and their movies. Joey Cheek was banned from the olympics for daring to speak up and raise money for the people of Dafur.

1.Sharon Stone
2.George Clooney
3.Steven Spielberg
4.Richard Gere
5.Bjork
6.Mia Farrow
7.Paul McCartney
8.Julia Roberts
9.Angelina Jolie
10.Brad Pitt
11. Joey Cheek was banned from the olympics for daring to speak up and raise money for the victims in Darfur.

How dare they speak out against human rights violation, animal cruelty and hypocrisy.

So illogical of them.

Joey Cheek's not logical statement upon learning of being banned from the Olympic Games in China

I am saddened not to be able to attend the Games. The Olympic Games represent something powerful: that people can come together from around the world and do things that no one thought were possible. However, the denial of my visa is a part of a systemic effort by the Chinese government to coerce and threaten athletes who are speaking out on behalf of the innocent people of Darfur. Team Darfur's main efforts have been to advocate for an Olympic Truce for Darfur, and to raise awareness about the crisis and ask for lasting peace on behalf of the children of Darfur.

The Olympic Truce captures the spirit of the Olympics: around the Games, the world should come together to work for peace and speak out against conflict. The Chinese government's efforts to suppress athletes, even those who are competing in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, who speak about essential human rights issues, is a violation of that core Olympic spirit.

Shame on him.

Okay damn it I refreshed the page. But since I did I feel I need to clarify something. It seems my goodnight caused some controversy. First off I did not say nor did I imply that Mayo came in only to “talk” to K. He came in and gave his opinion on a topic that was being discussed. Is there anything wrong with that? Nope, not that I can see. I don’t know how many times I have said when I write the goodnight it is me thinking out loud. And what I was thinking tonight is that I have been a bad friend to people here and I don’t like that at all. Yeah, I’ve got some serious shit going on in my life and I’ve let it consume me. So many people here have offered me support and I realized I have not done the same for them because I “shut” off when things get too much for me. I hate this about myself. I need to realize that others have problems that are just as serious as mine. I need to offer them support.

If anything that I say strikes a chord with Mayo that’s fine. All I was putting out there was I realize I need to start giving back what I’m taking in. I need to be there for the people who are reaching out to me. Right now, as far as I can tell, Mayo is fine. But others are not. I want to stop being selfish. I want to give back. I want to let people know that I truly appreciate their friendship.

Joey Cheek

you're a mean, nasty person and you just hate China and the Chinese people.

Nevermind the fact that you and your Team Darfur raised over 1 million dollars to help the people of Darfur. That you donated every penny of your prior olympic bonus to the fund. It was all a lie. You're horrible.

Anonymous said...

You don't have to explain Elena. Thank you for being the type of person that cares enough to explain even when you dont have to.

Aaactually anon, I said I did agree with them: you just pretend not to hear me. :)

Yeah, that's right you silly goose, I stay up aaaaaallll night, with my "little friends" to post to you. I certainly don't have to get up at 7 for school or anything and those "little friends" don't have to go to work.

Have fun in that little world of yours, and good night. :)

By the way, hi E. don't worry about what these people think, you know?

Elena I agree.

Once again Mayo stopped in, and once again he didn't even take the time to ask about anyone. All he did was agree with Kapu as usual and then leave.

I don't see why people fawn themselves all over him. HE is the true jerk here.

February 8, 2009 9:55 PM

What I find sad, really truley sad, is that so many people come here with love for this "person", they take care of him, they share their words lives and everything with him. They are having really bad times in their lives. A word or two from him would mean so much to them.

Then there are those who care about the blog and always try to help it.

But he constantly sides with one person, a person who admitted that the blog didn't really mean that much to her.

I will never understand Mayo's selfishness.

You can't talk to Kapunua about the things she likes.

Leonard Cohen. He lives with a women less than half his age.

Jared Leto. He went out with Scarlet Johansen, HALF his age.

The video games she loves so much. Japan. The biggest whalers in the world. Boycott Japanese products surely a person so into animal rights would never buy anything from those cruel people.

Those are only a FEW things Kapu still does / likes and talks about constantly.....
