Hai peeples, I haven't caught up yet, but wanted to express my yayness at Americans not *totally* fucking up Life on Mars. And sorry if this comment is inane because people are currently in serious discussions and such. Catch ya in 5 or 10.
11.38, she is feeling much, much better, thank you. She's been eating solid food today and not having any trouble with it! In fact, while I was out, she called and asked if I would bring her an Arby's roast beef sandwich. So I did! She's still fighting fatigue, but that's normal.
Did you know she's set her blog back up? You can click her "Original Punk L" name from any time and the blog'll come up.
Is there anything you'd like me to tell her from you?
no she wasn't sure at all, my daughter had the snake on her too, we took a pic just before he put it on her and the look is priceless! But she was fine with it on her, funnily most other adults kept well away! The handler was great we talked to him for ages later on, young guy and really laid back, he said Russel likes going through belt loops and you have to cut them to get him out!
Hey anon, and j, and tj. I'm all rude and stuff, not saying hi to people. I always kind of picture this blog as walking into a party, and I'm just kinda wafting around the room.
TJ, I can't remember if it's in the third book or the fourth, but there's this huge scene at the end that takes place in the Courts. It's quite a look into this world LKH has invented.
As for the, um, rest of it, expect that to escalate as you read further. O_o Same goes for the Anita Blake series. All very, very good.
Ergo, I'm guessing you wrote a travel blog! I'll head over a little later to read and comment. How are you doing today?
I have to reply now? They'll find me and make you suffer for it.
Carrie, it was my pleasure. I have a twisted sense of humor so I considered making other accounts for other places. You can use your imagination to figure them out. I was well behaved and didn't go through with it.
Ergoproxy, there are ways around typing that depending on where the photos are stored. I sneak and read a lot of the blogs here. :)
J, I'm trying to get the emails done and stay out of trouble. I can't find a damn broom!
Anon, I'm not that gullible. I set my blog so that you have to have balls to comment. I know they'll need a new place to stir things.
Amyranth, J told me she'd help me fend off weasels with a broom. Ok, not exactly but that's the less perverted version.
Dickweed, i want to apoligize to you. I'm sorry, after reading your new blog, i see i was wrong.I thought you were a anon that wanted to cause trouble. After i read your blog..i felt ashamed of myself. I'm sorry i jumped to conclusions.
Oh! And J, no, with Annie home I haven't been reading as much, but I have gotten up to the point where she's indulging in a blood shake to help the fetus. It just keeps getting better and better, and by that I mean more ludicrous.
I'll most assuredly pass on your words. L told me today that she's felt so good that someone she doesn't know would care so much about her. I told her that she probably knew you, but under another name. She appreciates ALL the get-wells she's been getting, and says thank you.
DW, if you've got the weasel, I've got the broom! ;D
I have never commented on the ones that visit your blog. I'm all for people that can get along and treat others with respect. I admit i did not trust you..but that was my problem.,not yours or the people that visit your blog :)
Ergo, I'm doing fine. Had a dr's appt today, everything checked out alright. Got some samples of insulin and this other drug I use called Symlin, and some blood pressure pills. Honestly, the amount of money I would spend a month if I had to pay for every single thing I take would bankrupt Warren Buffett. O_o
carrie what beer does he like? we would have different brands over here, but I don't like "bitter" styles, and I prefer to drink a nice flavoured higher alcohol beer slower than a light beer, I don't think they taste as nice my brands here are Carlton Draught, Cold and Dry Tooeys Old and New and Little Creatures Roger's Ale I have had Heinekin which is nice
I think Heinekin smells like a skunks's butt! But I'm not so much a beer fan to begin with. Terry is obsessed with hops, hoppy hoppy flavor, which I think tends to be a little bitter. He likes India Pale Ales, and the brand over here that it probably one of his faves is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I'm totally gonna have to throw all these other beer names out at him tomorrow, he will be impressed, and think that my blogging finally has a purpose. :)
Carrie (and Amy, and BC if you're around), when I was in Target today I passed the display where the Meyer books were. I looked at them all resting there, thinking, This is that hideous series the girls are reading. I wasn't EVEN tempted to pick one up to look at it.
Oh my heck, Ergo, I looooove Wheat Beer. My friends made a Raspberry Wheat beer that I would almost trade a family member for. It's definitely my fave style, if I'm forced to drink beer, that is. :)
I rarely have imported beers as we have a lot of breweries over here. if you can get Little Creatures anywhere try it the pale ale and rogers are lovely We have home brewed too, usually pale ale.
at the moment we have Carlton Extra Dry with lime, very very nice
I am so going to taunt Terry tomorrow with my newfound knowledge. We do have a hoity toity place near here called Cork and Ale who pride themselves on their selection. I am soooo gonna walk in there and throw out some of these names and watch them go huh?
Yes you did, Carrie, and I am eternally grateful! *bows head in acknowledgement of Carrie's, Amy's, and BC's greater wisdom on the topic*
Amy, don't look at it as tainting. Look at it more like saving me countless hours NOT reading the schlock.
I'm not much of a beer drinker either, but when I do, my choice is Corona Extra with lemon and lime in it. I also like Red Stripe, Killian's Red, and Amber Bock.
Dumplin also likes Amber Bock, and would be quite the sot if left to his own devices with it.
You could always go in and ask for a Gibson. And when they pull out the bottle of whiskey, you can roll your eyes and say "The COCKTAIL, Philistines." and huff.
The best beer I ever had was a homebrew Terry made while in college. I think it was a Scotch Ale. We were in campus housing at the time, a teeny tiny apartment, and I had to listen to that bitch blurping in my bedroom for what seemed like forever.
sorry carrie, wineries sell of wines cheaper and just put on white labels with the wine type, they call them cleanskins, bottleshop is what we call the place that sells alcohol, often attached to a pub and drive through, though I go to a big warehouse one, it's cheaper
If I don't happen to answer a question right away, it's b/c I'm answering emails. Still checking in and out, though!
Not a big wine drinker either. Honestly, if I'm gonna drink, I'd rather just hit the hard stuff. But that's only about once a month or two. The ol' constitution ain't what it used to be.
Cool Ergo, thanks for the edumacation. In the North here, we can buy liquor at our grocery stores, but where I'm from originally, that have the ABC store, or I think I've also heard it called the package store.
So in case you were wondering, the dr's appt went fine today, no major problems, just some fine-tuning.
Um, you can wake up now. *pokes with stick*
Moving right along...
Are you ready for Halloween? It's such a great time of year: the air starts turning cooler, the leaves turn colors, just the whole feeling of autumn. And Halloween itself? Well, being a diabetic, I never really got to do the trick-or-treat thing. I associate the holiday with the feeling of the season. That, and witches, ghosts, and black cats. ;)
Hope you're doing well, honey. Hang in there; I'm here if you need me.
brahmans are a common breed over here as they are drought tolerant these were cows and some little calves too, so cute but not around your house, in your nice yard!
Ergo one morning I went out on the back deck and about 8 cows were very nicely standing in my flower garden. I wasn't very happy. They had wandered down to our place from about a mile away. Yep, runaway cows.
I will have your stuff packed up to send next week TJ too :]
she sent an early reader book on sharks and dolphins 2 pairs of black socks with halloween pumpkins on them an mcr button and a button that says "I am so blogging this" and some peeps cocoa cats and a giant gummy bat and spider
oh, i'm looking forward to seeing what you will send, ergo! it will be my second package from someone here. :)
love that button about the blogging, that's funny. and the halloween stuff is cool. my college friend and i used to send each other big birthday packages, and since her birthday is in october (just this week in fact) i would always send a ton of halloween trinkets and candy. it was fun to find silly things to send. :)
halloween is definitely a fun holiday, ergo. it's a little different for me now, though, but still good.
elena, i took about 50 pics of the trees yesterday, it was ridiculous. i can't seem to stop taking pics of their trees. so i have more, but i picked out the best ones to share. some would be great if my camera took sharper pictures. hand-me-down, though, so what can you do?
Oh I found my Halloween costume today. Not gonna say what it is yet (I'll take pics) but I found it in a thrift store and it's real. I mean not a costume. It's gonna be fun.
Well today I did in fact pick out my pumpkins for this Halloween. Three great specimens that will have such great ‘face’ potential. I’ll take a picture of them tomorrow if I get a chance and show you.
So since I’m all psyched for Halloween I’ve been watching horror movies. A few months ago Fred and I came across a video store that was going out of business and all their movies were 2 bucks apiece. Of course I went to the horror section. The great thing was that there was a whole bunch of movies I’d never seen. You know those movies that get made but never make it to the theatre? I like to call them good/bad movies. They are really bad but they are so bad that they are fun to watch. Lots of times we totally MST3K them but that’s just part of the fun. Okay here are the ones I’ve watched so far. If you’re not a horror movie fan you may just wanna skip this. But really I think you’d have fun watching them.
“Slash” – Okay this one, while it has a pretty predictable plot, wasn’t really all that bad. There is a rock band that goes to the lead singers family farm for a funeral. Yeah, of course it isn’t typical. Can we say “blood harvest?” The acting wasn’t too frightening and it actually had a few actors I’d seen before. One was Zulieikha Robinson (she played Yves Adele Harlow in “The Lone Gunman”. I loved that show, by the way. Anyway you might want to check it out. It’s one of those movies that’s fun to watch once.
“Population 436” – Maybe I’ve seen too many movies but within the first few minutes I knew how the whole movie would play out. Even so it wasn’t terrible. It has Fred Durst portraying a deputy. Gotta say I was surprised cause he’s actually a pretty good actor.
“The Fanglys” – Oh man, this is a perfect example of a bad movie that is so bad it’s good. I have no idea how they did it but they actually got a real “known” actor to be in this. It was Burton Gilliam (he played Lyle in Blazing Saddles). He must be related to someone who made the movie or was desperate for money. Anyway, this jewel of bad movie making tells the story of a witch that truly dumbasses tempt by driving down Storm Creek looking for her. She’s Fanglady. Yep, every Halloween people go down there looking for her. Guess they forget all the dead bodies from the previous year. Really if you ever get the chance give this one a shot. Bad movie making at it’s finest.
So that’s my movie reviews. Oh and if anyone out there would like to see these please let me know. I’d be more than happy to pass these on. Fun to watch once but I’m not gonna sit through them again.
Well I better get back to work. Hope your day was a good one, Mayo. Oh and thanks again for sharing your painting with us. Each time I load the page I see something else. That’s pretty cool.
the season has definitely turned here, now. the nights are cold, and the morning sun is beginning to have that thin clarity that comes with winter. right now, this moment, i can smell wood smoke. i like to keep the window open in the room i sleep in, even though the temps are dropping -- but then, i left my dorm room window open a bit all through the minnesota winters, so a kentucky autumn is small potatoes. *grin*
the wood smoke, though...
it's wonderful. it brings all my camping memories to the surface, all those enjoyable nights wandering around a fairground or campground or field in the dark, going from campfire to campfire, listening to bards tell stories about thor and william marshall and our own heroes and leaders. there would be songs, too, and there's nothing like listening to several voices joined together in medieval harmonies, accompanied by the crackling of the flame.
i remember one event, it was a crown tourney down south of portland. the dirt road through the state park's camping area went in a circle, and the merchants all set up their tents in the center. everyone pitched their own pavilions around the outside of the road, and to get to the tourney field you had to cross through the merchants. sneaky, and effective! i bought things i normally wouldn't have -- some amber-scented bath salts, and a beautiful bronze hairpin with a spiral at one end. not really in my period design-wise, but i find it difficult to resist bronze items. *grin*
that was the event where they scheduled one tourney for after-dark, as a special treat. the list was ringed with torch-lit poles. imagine a tourney lit by flame...it was glorious.
afterwards, we left the tourney field and wandered back to our tent. we took the long way back, winding our way through the encampments along the edges, stopping to talk and greet friends. someone gave me a chocolate martini! it was odd, but good. i usually stick to mead or hard cider at events if i'm drinking -- though by rights, i should have ale, as it's what is authentic to my persona. i'm teaching myself to like it. the modern ones have too much hops in them though. ick.
we got to this one campfire, it didn't belong to any encampment, but was in a firepit by one of the picnic shelters. there were people sitting and standing around it, so we stopped to inquire, and it turned out that there was going to be a play. so of course, we found spots on the ground, sitting on our cloaks.
it was dark all around, and you could hear from one direction the sound of a shaum, i think. but some instrument being played in someone's encampment, off in the distance. then the players walked up to the fire, dressed in their ordinary garb. they greeted us, laughed with a few close friends in the little audience, and then acted out the story there at the fire, in the space we cleared for them. it was a romance, if i recall, something with mistaken identities. no set, no props, just the players, their story, and our attention and imaginations. a good ending to the day.
that's what wood smoke is to me.
and maybe now it will also be listening to music in my headphones and writing to you, too. memory is sticky that way.
good night, mayo. i hope you have beautiful memories of fellowship, too. they really are gems.
Just stopping by as I am tired. But I wanted to wish Solly a...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
:) I hope you enjoy your day!
Wendy - My laptop has risen from the ashes, but I am entirely innocent! Maybe it was the combustible cock? :) Our very own phoenix :)
DW - I left you a message.
ergo - Your pics are lovely. I stopped by your place for a moment and 'squeed' over the cutie baby koala! :)
Anons - please refrain from leaving words that truly disgust me at my place. There are certain words in the english language that make my skin creep and my hair stand on end - especially the ones used to refer primarily to women. While I believe in free speech, I also have the freedom to protest.
Mayo - Sorry if your drawing wasn't meant to be academically critiqued. I have an art degree, unfortunately ;)
War And Peace costue pics are up. Click on the Photo Gallery link under the More Information section. I made the black and silver frock coat in picture #4 and the military jackets in picture #7.
Happy Jappy Friday to you, my mystery mister blogger dude!
Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to celebrate not one, but two birthdays here. How freakin' awesome is that?
I was just telling Ergo that yesterday I was joking around with co-workers telling them I was going to be 24 today. Well, a funny thing occurred to me. I can't remember dick about being 24, not a single thing jumps out at me. But I'm willing to bet it was nothing as cool as BlogBelieve has been.
Mayo “Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.”* So many times we act without really thinking, speak without caution and pass judgement without understanding. I hope you can always take the time to think befoer acting and to consider how your words will affect those around you. By the way I saw a set of fingerpaints today, do you know how many times I'd visited that store and never noticed them! Today I turned a corner and voila! there they were!! Mayo Memories hit in the oddest of places! (and you cannot explain them to anyone) Wishing you patience, foresight, courage and perseverance much love EP xx
SS “The power of a man's virtue should not be measured by his special efforts, but by his ordinary doing”** it's always so easy to make a special effort, to appear to be the person of the hour when the eyes of those around turn in your direction, to garner praise from a moment, but to live in a way that shows always how your heart is focussed, even when there is no one to see, no pride to be gained, no praise to be gathered, is a true measure. If we can all remember to try always to give of ourselves humbly and with humility, we shall gain far more than we expend. Sending you the presence of mind to think before acting, the wisdom to choose your words and the opportunity to make a difference lotsa love EP xx
I love seeing the pics from the productions I told you I showed my Dad too? he just did sets and costumes for the ballet Cinderella here there is no photo gallery yet, but the bit you see there is his work
Good morning everyone. Hi Mayo, Miranth, Ergo, FASC, RW, Socky, SS.
Princess, Wow. I knew your husband had had a very serious accident but seeing the wreckage and hearing the story really puts the severity of it into perspective. It really has been a case of what doesn't break you makes you both stronger. Da Rake was, and is, a lucky man. =)
MissT, I meant to say yesterday how much I enjoyed your Egyptian exhibition photos! And that is a permanent display?! Fantastic!
Ergo, Super photo essay! Haha, anytime I read Sea Eagle I look for the Manly before it! Sad, I know! Too much NRL viewing.
616, *grabs 616s hands and jumps in happiness* Yes, come join us! Bathurst = V8 Supercars! Australia's Mount Panorama circuit. Racing ALL day! 1000 laps. It is indeed exciting!Smell the fumes!

For your pleasure and pondering consideration today: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Park Bench
The park bench was deserted as I sat down to read beneath the long, straggly branches of an old willow tree. Disillusioned by life with good reason to frown, for the world was intent on dragging me down.
And if that weren't enough to ruin my day, A young boy out of breath approached me, all tired from play.
He stood right before me with his head tilted down and said with great excitement, "Look what I found!"
In his hand was a flower, and what a pitiful sight, with it's petals all worn, not enough rain, or to little light. Wanting him to take his dead flower and go off to play, I faked a small smile and then shifted away. But instead of retreating he sat next to my side and placed the flower to his nose and declared with overacted surprise, "It sure smells pretty and it's beautiful, too. That's why I picked it; here it's for you."
The weed before me was dying or dead. Not vibrant of colors, orange, yellow or red. But I knew I must take it, or he might never leave. So I reached for the flower, and replied, "Just what I need." But instead of him placing the flower in my hand, he held it mid-air without reason or plan. It was then that I noticed for the very first time that weed-toting boy could not see: he was blind.
I heard my voice quiver, tears shone like the sun as I thanked him for picking the very best one. You're welcome, he smiled, and then ran off to play, unaware of the impact he'd had on my day. I sat there and wondered how he managed to see a self-pitying woman beneath an old willow tree. How did he know of my self-indulged plight?
Perhaps from his heart, he'd been blessed with true sight. Through the eyes of a blind child, at last I could see the problem was not with the world; the problem was me. And for all of those times I myself had been blind, I vowed to see the beauty in life, and appreciate every second that's mine. And then I held that wilted flower up to my nose and breathed in the fragrance of a beautiful rose. And smiled as I watched that young boy, another weed in his hand about to change the life of an unsuspecting old man. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you all find the very best flower today or see the beauty in what some might deem a dead, worthless weed.
Have a great day, everyone!
Hugs and Love, ~Namaste~ 6/Wendy
Hi PJ, Fruit Punch, DA, Fang Bang, Emily and Andrea!
good morning everyone (squeaking in under the wire for that greeting!)
i forgot to mention this last night, but i was able to talk to someone in seattle about my voter status. she just switched me over to receiving a temporary absentee ballot, and is sending it here -- WHEW.
i was very happy about that! and now i even get to vote early! mwah-hah. ;)
and i'm a teeny tiny bit wiggly this morning (from more than all the coffee i've had *grin*). i just checked tfaw for the publication date of the tua hardcover (couldn't remember when it was) and it's the 22nd! this month!
can't wait. haven't read it in months of course so it will be interesting to see if anything new stands out, plus the extras!!
*wiggly*
i like graphic novel extras. :)
that's it. that's my morning news. voting and geekery. *facepalm*
my apologies to all who are irritated by my caffeinated idiocy. *sincere curtsey*
and now i'm gone -- i feel like making something today so it looks like i'll be pulling out my sketchbook later on. :)
Last night's Weezer concert was fucking amazing. I got pushed around in the mosh pit, and today my feet and neck are sore. But it was well worth it! It was a great show!
Thank goodness I planned a day off today. I'm sitting here in my PJs trying to think of all the fun and relaxing things I can do with my day off. Go out someplace nice for lunch, go to a matinee, do some shopping, sit on my ass and play warcraft or watch movies... the possibilities are endless. :)
Anyway, I hope everyone here has a great weekend! Take care!
even if no one gets me, if i'm the only one laughing at my jokes, i won't hide myself away from life. it's uncertain and it's dirty and it's fucking exciting, and i want to be a part of all of it.
it's too good to waste in hiding.

heart full
Today on my way home from class, I stopped off at the petrol station for some petrol. I paid on my card which wasn’t a lot, and then as I was getting into my car, I saw an old man walking past the building. He had a red and green stripy jumper which was frayed at the ends. He was also wearing some jeans that were dirty and had holes all over.
I sat there and became intrigued by him because I didn’t know what he was doing, so as I sat there and watched him, he continued doing what he set out to do.
He walked past the trash cans and first picked out a cup with some drink still in it (one of the cups that you get from burger king that has coke in it). He then walked over to the next trash can and pulled out the end of a half eaten sandwich. In my shock horror, he ate it and then went to sit on the wall to drink the drink he had found.
I felt sad, I wanted to give him my last $4 that I had but I was told when I was younger that you should never give people money, you should give them something they need or can use because that way, if they had an addiction, they would not be able to use the money for their addiction. So I went into the shop and bought a chicken sandwich from their deli counter and then walked out of the building.
The guy was still sat at the wall drinking his drink so I walked up to him and asked him if he would like this sandwich. He thanked me and said that he was hungry.
I should of felt good after that, doing something for someone else but all I could think of is where his next meal will come from or where in fact he will sleep tonight.

(Tonight, although I am cold and my feet are sore, my belly is full.)
It helped.
Jennicula,
Thank you for sharing your story. Although it only appeared briefly, I was lucky enough to have caught it.
Once upon a time, for me, that was the best part of this place...having my words related back to me from another's perspective.
And it never mattered to me who said it, just that it meant something to the writer.

Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life. Hold your head up high and be proud of who you are. If you've had a shitty day and you feel like people just don't want you to be happy, and when you find yourself struggling to make it through the day, just keep on believing and keep the faith. Also, from personal experience, don't push people away. When they say they want to help and that they are there for you, let them in. Believe me, I know how fucking scary that thought is, but don't shut others out.

Retro-spectacled
Sometimes, when you look back on stuff in your life, you know, the crap that makes you shake your head and say, "Holy shit, what the Hell was I thinking?" it's part of what makes you - you.
I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I have made small mistakes and really big, fucking scary mistakes. Would I change those mistakes and blunders?
No. Wanna know why?
Because they make me - me. They help make up the person that I am, what I've learned the hard way. Hopefully I've learned from my mistakes and have become a better person for it. And, hopefully I don't repeat those same mistakes. Although, sometimes I repeat variations of certain ones, but I'm working on that. :)

aloft
Blazing against the sun like locusts, samaras swarm the sky and skitter to an earthly end, dry like clever words. I want to make them fly up, flip heaven upside down and dance across the top of hell and sing your thoughts to the sound of thunder that you love so well, rip open the littered sky and bathe in the light or draw across the firmament the blanket of the night.
In only a day they have covered the ground, their brief flight yielding nothing permanent on infertile land, a fleeting moment of swarming glory that calls to mind our own short story: Diamonds and petals, the loom and the light, the inkdark moon, foxfire marsh, an open, waiting hand.
Clever winged seeds of childhood reminiscent-- and like the idiot grown-up heart, as stubbornly indehiscent.

Electric Blue
…today I saw a ulysses butterfly it was in our yard and settled to feed on our hibiscus. They really are fantastically beautiful things, the electric blue is amazing, however as they sit with their wings closed they are rather nondescript and dull. Sometimes people are like that, from the outside they seem unappealing but within there hides an amazing beauty for those lucky enough to see it. I hope you appreciate beauty in all things, and look for it perhaps where others miss it.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.
I read your post again and suddenly without warning memories of construction paper filled my head. I remembered all the lop-sided flowers my girls made when they were young. Bright blue, yellow and pink flowers that were cut out with blunt end scissors would fill the windows to decorate for Easter. An occasional bunny was attempted but those usually ended up looking like creatures from a horror movie. Flowers were so much easier. I can close my eyes and hear the paper being cut into petals. I can smell the Elmer’s glue squirted on in huge blobs to attach each misshapen petal to form the flowers. We had a huge arts and crafts box full of wonderful items just waiting for their imaginations to turn into something wonderful. In my mind I see my daughters, as they once were, small, blond little girls sitting on the floor surrounded by scraps of paper and other art supplies. They would create their masterpieces then proudly show each other. Oh and Lord the messes that would ensue if the glitter made an appearance. Now, the box is forgotten. I’m not really sure where it even is anymore. The few flowers so lovingly created that survived are faded and dusty and high on a shelf they sit. Time marches on, so many things get left behind.
Today was the first Easter I spent alone. I don’t think it really upset me until I remembered the construction paper flowers. Of course I understand that my daughters are growing up and have lives of their own. But understanding doesn’t make it any easier to accept. I miss my little girls in their frilly Easter dresses. I miss the laughter that filled the house when they found what the Easter Bunny left for them. And I miss making the damn flowers.

Well, this was a quick chat and visit tonight. I really do need that nap!
Have a good and fun night, Mayo, SS, Amy, BC, TJ, Ergo....everyone.
Sweet dreams to one and all!

*smooooooooooooch*
say hi to Reeko!
hi Amy, TJ
have a nice nap BC
good night wendy. :)
bc, have you been to a doctor? i'm really starting to get worried about you.
amyranth, please to be deciphering your previous comment.
i read it ergo! but i have to space out my picture clicking, or with dial-up i'll be sitting there until dawn tomorrow. :)
Actually, my chicken tastes like chicken.
Mango Chicken.
-A is OM NOM NOM.
Hai peeples, I haven't caught up yet, but wanted to express my yayness at Americans not *totally* fucking up Life on Mars. And sorry if this comment is inane because people are currently in serious discussions and such. Catch ya in 5 or 10.
hi carrie!
TJ there are only about 20 pics in part 1, I didn't realise I took so many!!!
ooh amy can I come for dinner?
hi carrie! I sent your voice mail :]
Hey Carrie! Did you get to check out those links I emailed you?
-A
oh they are smaller sized pics too, I always reduce them or they take ages to upload as well
OmG Amy yes, the first one, I was totally rolling. Edward scrapbooking and knitting? Too funnay.
And I didn't get it yet Ergo, hopefully it's just waiting out in cyberspace to get all beamed to me.
Ergo, feel free to stop by!
-A
*grins at Carrie*
I was in splits when I first read it. Now, when I need a good laugh I go back to it. Never fails.
-A
I hope it went through
Hello ladies! Ergo, Amy, BC, TJ and Carrie! And I see I just missed Wendy. Shoot.
BYE WENDY! *waves like a lunatic*
What are we talking about tonight?
okay, ergo, i'll speed up my picture clicking then. :)
oooh, j.! i started reading the first merry gentry book today.
i'm almost done. that's a good read! thank you for the recommendation!!!
I love me some frill necked lizard, gotta say. I am enjoying your blog entry, Ergo, your pics are of the awesome.
Anons don't bother typing, I'll be in and out of here.
I just want to say:
Ergoproxy, I peeked at your blog and loved it.
Have a good day and or night all.
Now I have to go find a weasel and a broom.
Hey DW, hey, thanks for emailing, your name in my inbox amused me to no end. :)
thanks carrie!
and dickweed you are most welcome to visit my blog :]
I'll do part 2 when I can (and when I'm ready to type a href...etc another 40 times!)
Oh NO you don't, Big D. Thought you could slip in and I wouldn't notice you? Mm-HMM. I get it now.
;D You know I'm kidding. But seriously:
GET BACK HERE ALREADY!
TJ, I'm so glad you love the books! I told you you would. YAY! I've made another convert!!
you dont have to go dickweed. Waves white flag !
At least you can do that Ergo! I think I managed the clicky link once. Just once.
A weasel and a broom?
*rubs her forehead and grabs a beer*
Okay, I'm game. What's the weasel on the broom for?
-A
ergo, that snake pic! it looooves you. but that girl is none too sure about it is she? :)
hi and bye, dw. (i'm not even going to ask)
Hey everybody!
J how is L tonight?
yep, i like them, j.! the whole seelie/unseelie court intrigue is interesting, and i like the rules about being polite..and um, other things. ;)
i'll be checking out the rest as soon as i go to the library.
Is there anything you'd like me to tell her from you?
hi anon
no she wasn't sure at all, my daughter had the snake on her too, we took a pic just before he put it on her and the look is priceless!
You're gonna make me work for the link, J? Dang. :)
I am the anon you spoke with the other night.
Thank you. I will try to visit her blog.
Just let her know I and others think of her. Please pass my hellos and best wishes to her :)
Ok, not exactly but that's the less perverted version.
don't worry about it carrie, you just waft as much as you like. :)
ergo, i wonder why the snake like the belt loops? it's funny! i would've been the chick hogging the snake...they don't bother me at all.
Carrie, you can go to my blog and click on her there. She put a message or two on my latest post today. :) She'd enjoy the visit!
Have you finished your piece of literary nastiness yet? ;)
I have J!
part 1 I have sooo many pics
I'm really well too thanks, how are you? I'm glad L is feeling better again
j., thanks for the "warning"!
*heh*
Dickweed, i want to apoligize to you. I'm sorry, after reading your new blog, i see i was wrong.I thought you were a anon that wanted to cause trouble. After i read your blog..i felt ashamed of myself. I'm sorry i jumped to conclusions.
*reads DW's comment*
*ponders her beer*
-A
No one needs to apologize to me. It's the people who comment on my blog that don't deserve the abuse they're getting for it.
I think it would be nice if people shook your hand before they decked you though. I'm weird like that.
What kind of beer? You know, my husband will totally judge you for what brand you are drinking, me, not so much, just curious.
Oh! And J, no, with Annie home I haven't been reading as much, but I have gotten up to the point where she's indulging in a blood shake to help the fetus. It just keeps getting better and better, and by that I mean more ludicrous.
Carrie, Alexander Keith's.
Ergo, have you heard of a sympathetic pregnancy before?
-A
11.38/11.45,
I'll most assuredly pass on your words. L told me today that she's felt so good that someone she doesn't know would care so much about her. I told her that she probably knew you, but under another name. She appreciates ALL the get-wells she's been getting, and says thank you.
DW, if you've got the weasel, I've got the broom! ;D
OMG, I have never ever heard of that! He will be so impressed tomorrow when I whip out a new brand at him.
And is it the India Pale Ale? Because your elvin ass will be on the floor after one of those, that shit is potent.
I have never commented on the ones that visit your blog. I'm all for people that can get along and treat others with respect. I admit i did not trust you..but that was my problem.,not yours or the people that visit your blog :)
Carrie, pick up a six-pack of Keith's or Keith's Red. You should be able to get it in the States, if not, cross the border and visit beautiful Canada.
J, you don't use a broom on weasels. You use a fucking trained hawk.
-A

j., thanks for the "warning"!

October 9, 2008 11:48 PM
Uh, YEAH! Anytime! Read on! Enjoy!
carrie what beer does he like? we would have different brands over here, but I don't like "bitter" styles, and I prefer to drink a nice flavoured higher alcohol beer slower than a light beer, I don't think they taste as nice
my brands here are Carlton Draught, Cold and Dry
Tooeys Old and New and Little Creatures Roger's Ale
I have had Heinekin which is nice
may sure have, what's up?
Amy, you can use a broom on anything. Depends on the size of the broom. ;)
Carrie, it is. And, it is.
-A is slinking to the floor
*sheesh*
AMY sure have. not may
Oh carrie I love pale ales, or most ales actually
have you tried wheat beer?
I think Heinekin smells like a skunks's butt! But I'm not so much a beer fan to begin with. Terry is obsessed with hops, hoppy hoppy flavor, which I think tends to be a little bitter. He likes India Pale Ales, and the brand over here that it probably one of his faves is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I'm totally gonna have to throw all these other beer names out at him tomorrow, he will be impressed, and think that my blogging finally has a purpose. :)
And ha, Amy!
Well, see, J, we did you a service!!
I rarely have imported beers as we have a lot of breweries over here.
if you can get Little Creatures anywhere try it the pale ale and rogers are lovely
We have home brewed too, usually pale ale.
at the moment we have Carlton Extra Dry with lime, very very nice
Poor J. We've tainted you.
Carrie and Ergo, I'm also partial to Strongbow as well. I get picked on for drinking "apple juice" though :P
-A
oh Strongbow is lovely!!
I like the draught, though on a really hot day the sweet goes down a treat!
goodnight honey♥
I am so going to taunt Terry tomorrow with my newfound knowledge. We do have a hoity toity place near here called Cork and Ale who pride themselves on their selection. I am soooo gonna walk in there and throw out some of these names and watch them go huh?
Ergo, Strongbow is best on a 30 degree day, in a pool full of cold water.
*suddenly realizes that it's Mayo's, and it IS a 30 degree day.*
Uh, I'll be out back in the pool if anyone needs me!
-A
Yes you did, Carrie, and I am eternally grateful!
*grins at Carrie*
You could always go in and ask for a Gibson. And when they pull out the bottle of whiskey, you can roll your eyes and say "The COCKTAIL, Philistines." and huff.
-A
carrie do you make shandy over there?
mix beer and lemonade?
*winks at Carrie*
Well J, if that's how you feel, I have some links to show you. Check your email.
-A
Yeah! We usually use a Hefiweissen, and that is no way spelled right, no how.
Noooooo, J don't loooookkkk!!!
goodnight sweet
(you gave me smiles all day)
♥♥
The best beer I ever had was a homebrew Terry made while in college. I think it was a Scotch Ale. We were in campus housing at the time, a teeny tiny apartment, and I had to listen to that bitch blurping in my bedroom for what seemed like forever.
Corona isn't bad, though it is quite a bit more expensive over here
I would much rather make wine. Although come to think of it, the best batch we ever made of that was one Al sneezed in when she was like 4 or so.
Did someone mention wine?
Hey, thanks Amy! I'll look at those links. Eventually. ;)
I answered you, too.
Carrie, don't worry, I just ain't feelin' the urge.
12:36, we're always mentioning wine.
-A
My personal fave is Yellowtail Shiraz, if we're talking wine. Yeah, it's cheap, but it's tasty!
wine is nice too, beer is casual, wine is special.
I have a very nice White Zinfandel for dinner tonight, with my chicken caesar salad
As long as it's in moderation...well...most of the time :)
I think cheap is fine, if you like the flavour drink it!
I often buy cleanskins at the bottleshop
cleanskins? bottleshop? You gotta translate for the Yank.
Sending my love.
Sending my love.
*yawns*
Well, I'm going to trot myself off to bed I think. One more day and this week is OVER! Turkey, Turkey Turkey!!
Uh, the Canadian thanksgiving is coming this weekend.
Goodnight Lovelies, Mayo and SS.
-A
Did someone mention wife?
Night Amy! And enjoy your hella freakishly early Thanksgiving. :)
sorry carrie,
wineries sell of wines cheaper and just put on white labels with the wine type, they call them cleanskins, bottleshop is what we call the place that sells alcohol, often attached to a pub and drive through, though I go to a big warehouse one, it's cheaper
Goodnight Amy, talk to you tomorrow!
Ohhh you don't know what you are missing J!
We need a wine appreciation/education class here :)
I could convert you :D
♥
I meant "they" instead of that, not so good with the proofready in the middle of the night, or day, in Ergo's case. :)
here we don't have alcohol in grocery stores, it's been introduced but isn't all over, they are still separate areas though, like an adjoined shop
We call those party stores over here, Ergo.
Goodnight all.
I always have wine cold, even reds I think as the climate here is usually so hot, room temp wine is pretty warm!
Goodnight, anon.
goodnight anon sweet dreams
Hello, everyone
Hey, Elena, I like your decorations, and your house.
Hi elena!
Goodnight Anon! The question remains, though: convert me to WHAT? ;)
Hey Elena! How are you? Didn't talk to you today.
♥
Are you here?
Thanks Carrie. I like my house too! lol. I still have more decorating to do and if you'd like I can maybe put up some more pics.
Hey Ergo, J and anon.
I'M here, but I don't think you're talking to me. :) Have a nice night, Lovey Anon/s!
I love to look at pics!
yes ♥
Carrie I'll try to get more pics tomorrow. I'm going to take pictures of my pumpkins I picked out today. I love them.
I saw your house too elena very cool decorations, and do put up some more if you take any
hi anons
I'm catching up on my True Bloods, and there is a total Bert looking vamp, he's kind freaking me out.
I think I'm going to bed now too. Good talking with you all tonight!
Goodnight Ergo, TJ, Elena, Carrie, Amy, BC, Anon, and DW! Hope you all get some much-needed sleep. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.
Goodnight Mayo, you dude, you. Have a good one!
love, faith, hope, brooms, weasels
Goodnight J!
goodnight J sweet dreams
good night j., thanks again. :)
I'm off too, my blog princesses. Catch you all tomorrow!
good night carrie, sweet dreams.
Night Carrie and J
Dear SS,
So in case you were wondering, the dr's appt went fine today, no major problems, just some fine-tuning.
Goodnight, baby. I love you.
My heart to yours, always.
Oh why is it when I finally get here the party is over?
I wanna talk to someone. Yep, I'm whining.
it's just me left, though. i'm not doing so well with the conversational skills tonight. :/
phew I'm back just had to chase some cows out of the neighbours house yard and check a gate
goodnight carrie
sweet dreams
hi ergo. elena needs someone to talk to. :)
I can talk..give me a topic!
the cows I chased were brahams
What's wrong TJ?
you ok TJ you sound melancholy
you chased sacred cows, ergo?
i was just out-of-sync tonight, elena, that's all. slipped over to ecto to stop inflicting my brand of stupid on everyone.
i'll be fine, ergo. just happens sometimes. i'm not really down or anything.
Brand of stupid? Nope, I don't agree with that at all. I get that sometimes it's hard to "talk" here but you're never stupid.
Anything really bothering you that you want to talk about? You can e-mail me if you want.
elena
I sent you a special email
sure did TJ, I chased them nicely
brahmans are a common breed over here as they are drought tolerant
these were cows and some little calves too, so cute
but not around your house, in your nice yard!
i know, thank you, elena.
calves are always cute, ergo. i remember that from when i was a kid on a farm. but you're right...not in the house. *heh*
so, what else did elena send you, beside the candy? you guys sure do send each other a lot of things, don't you? that's neat. :)
Ergo one morning I went out on the back deck and about 8 cows were very nicely standing in my flower garden. I wasn't very happy. They had wandered down to our place from about a mile away. Yep, runaway cows.
I will have your stuff packed up to send next week TJ too :]
she sent an early reader book on sharks and dolphins
2 pairs of black socks with halloween pumpkins on them
an mcr button and a button that says "I am so blogging this"
and some peeps cocoa cats and a giant gummy bat and spider
cows are really curious, they were probably waiting to see who had such a nice garden
oh, i'm looking forward to seeing what you will send, ergo! it will be my second package from someone here. :)
love that button about the blogging, that's funny. and the halloween stuff is cool. my college friend and i used to send each other big birthday packages, and since her birthday is in october (just this week in fact) i would always send a ton of halloween trinkets and candy. it was fun to find silly things to send. :)
Oh I showed them whose garden it was!
I think it is wonderful to be able to share in halloween like this, I always envied american kids as it looked like so much fun
TJ have you taken anymore pics? I really loved the ones you've posted.
halloween is definitely a fun holiday, ergo. it's a little different for me now, though, but still good.
elena, i took about 50 pics of the trees yesterday, it was ridiculous. i can't seem to stop taking pics of their trees. so i have more, but i picked out the best ones to share. some would be great if my camera took sharper pictures. hand-me-down, though, so what can you do?
i'm glad you liked them. :)
it looks like a really pretty area TJ, thanks for putting them up
Oh I found my Halloween costume today. Not gonna say what it is yet (I'll take pics) but I found it in a thrift store and it's real. I mean not a costume. It's gonna be fun.
you're welcome ergo. i've enjoyed getting the chance to spend so much time around these trees. :)
can't wait to see the pics, elena. i love seeing what people do for costumes.
well, i'm going to bed now. i've been sitting here listening to "desert song" on repeat and it's turning into a lullaby.
good night ergo, good night elena. good night fellow lurkers.
sweet dreams all.
It's gonna be fun. Well I better go. I've got more work to do and a goodnight to write.
TJ if you need me anytime you know where I'm at, okay?
oh I can't wait either
goodnight TJ sweet dreams
Mayo
Night Mayo
Elena (owner of some truly good/bad movies.)
mayo,
the season has definitely turned here, now. the nights are cold, and the morning sun is beginning to have that thin clarity that comes with winter. right now, this moment, i can smell wood smoke. i like to keep the window open in the room i sleep in, even though the temps are dropping -- but then, i left my dorm room window open a bit all through the minnesota winters, so a kentucky autumn is small potatoes. *grin*
the wood smoke, though...
it's wonderful. it brings all my camping memories to the surface, all those enjoyable nights wandering around a fairground or campground or field in the dark, going from campfire to campfire, listening to bards tell stories about thor and william marshall and our own heroes and leaders. there would be songs, too, and there's nothing like listening to several voices joined together in medieval harmonies, accompanied by the crackling of the flame.
i remember one event, it was a crown tourney down south of portland. the dirt road through the state park's camping area went in a circle, and the merchants all set up their tents in the center. everyone pitched their own pavilions around the outside of the road, and to get to the tourney field you had to cross through the merchants. sneaky, and effective! i bought things i normally wouldn't have -- some amber-scented bath salts, and a beautiful bronze hairpin with a spiral at one end. not really in my period design-wise, but i find it difficult to resist bronze items. *grin*
that was the event where they scheduled one tourney for after-dark, as a special treat. the list was ringed with torch-lit poles. imagine a tourney lit by flame...it was glorious.
afterwards, we left the tourney field and wandered back to our tent. we took the long way back, winding our way through the encampments along the edges, stopping to talk and greet friends. someone gave me a chocolate martini! it was odd, but good. i usually stick to mead or hard cider at events if i'm drinking -- though by rights, i should have ale, as it's what is authentic to my persona. i'm teaching myself to like it. the modern ones have too much hops in them though. ick.
we got to this one campfire, it didn't belong to any encampment, but was in a firepit by one of the picnic shelters. there were people sitting and standing around it, so we stopped to inquire, and it turned out that there was going to be a play. so of course, we found spots on the ground, sitting on our cloaks.
it was dark all around, and you could hear from one direction the sound of a shaum, i think. but some instrument being played in someone's encampment, off in the distance. then the players walked up to the fire, dressed in their ordinary garb. they greeted us, laughed with a few close friends in the little audience, and then acted out the story there at the fire, in the space we cleared for them. it was a romance, if i recall, something with mistaken identities. no set, no props, just the players, their story, and our attention and imaginations. a good ending to the day.
that's what wood smoke is to me.
and maybe now it will also be listening to music in my headphones and writing to you, too. memory is sticky that way.
good night, mayo. i hope you have beautiful memories of fellowship, too. they really are gems.
sweet dreams, my friend.
goodnight elena sweet dreams
Take care guys!
HI miranth!
thanks for visiting!
and fasc too :]
and happy birthday in your time now sdock?
Thank you for sharing your pictures ergo. I look forward to the next bunch!

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to celebrate not one, but two birthdays here. How freakin' awesome is that?
I was just telling Ergo that yesterday I was joking around with co-workers telling them I was going to be 24 today. Well, a funny thing occurred to me. I can't remember dick about being
24, not a single thing jumps out at me. But I'm willing to bet it was nothing as cool as BlogBelieve has been.
Partayyyyyy on, Mayo! Partay on!
Love to YOU Always,
S
p.s. Another year older, another year...???
Mayo
“Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.”*
So many times we act without really thinking, speak without caution and pass judgement without understanding.
(and you cannot explain them to anyone)
Wishing you patience, foresight, courage and perseverance
much love EP xx
SS
“The power of a man's virtue should not be measured by his special efforts, but by his ordinary doing”**
it's always so easy to make a special effort, to appear to be the person of the hour when the eyes of those around turn in your direction, to garner praise from a moment, but to live in a way that shows always how your heart is focussed, even when there is no one to see, no pride to be gained, no praise to be gathered, is a true measure. If we can all remember to try always to give of ourselves humbly and with humility, we shall gain far more than we expend.
Sending you the presence of mind to think before acting, the wisdom to choose your words and the opportunity to make a difference
lotsa love
EP xx

Hi Mayo, Miranth, Ergo, FASC, RW, Socky, SS.
Princess,
Wow. I knew your husband had had a very serious accident but seeing the wreckage and hearing the story really puts the severity of it into perspective. It really has been a case of what doesn't break you makes you both stronger. Da Rake was, and is, a lucky man. =)
MissT,
I meant to say yesterday how much I enjoyed your Egyptian exhibition photos! And that is a permanent display?! Fantastic!
Ergo,
Super photo essay! Haha, anytime I read Sea Eagle I look for the Manly before it! Sad, I know! Too much NRL viewing.
616,
*grabs 616s hands and jumps in happiness* Yes, come join us!
Bathurst = V8 Supercars! Australia's Mount Panorama circuit. Racing ALL day! 1000 laps. It is indeed exciting!Smell the fumes!

Happy Jappy Birthday!
It's supposed to be a backpack thingy. Maybe it was too prim and didn't like to reveal it's shoulder straps!

Have a great day.
See you all around. =)
Oops, forgot something.

For your pleasure and pondering consideration today:

The Park Bench
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you all find the very best flower today or see the beauty in what some might deem a dead, worthless weed.
Have a great day, everyone!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
Hello all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SDOCK!!!!
Hope your day is a great one.
good morning everyone (squeaking in under the wire for that greeting!)
i forgot to mention this last night, but i was able to talk to someone in seattle about my voter status. she just switched me over to receiving a temporary absentee ballot, and is sending it here -- WHEW.
i was very happy about that! and now i even get to vote early! mwah-hah. ;)
and i'm a teeny tiny bit wiggly this morning (from more than all the coffee i've had *grin*). i just checked tfaw for the publication date of the tua hardcover (couldn't remember when it was) and it's the 22nd! this month!
can't wait. haven't read it in months of course so it will be interesting to see if anything new stands out, plus the extras!!
*wiggly*
i like graphic novel extras. :)
that's it. that's my morning news. voting and geekery.
*facepalm*
my apologies to all who are irritated by my caffeinated idiocy. *sincere curtsey*
and now i'm gone -- i feel like making something today so it looks like i'll be pulling out my sketchbook later on. :)
bye blogbelieve.
happy birthday sdock!
Hey everybody,
Just a quick stop to say hello and Happy Friday!
Last night's Weezer concert was fucking amazing. I got pushed around in the mosh pit, and today my feet and neck are sore. But it was well worth it! It was a great show!
Thank goodness I planned a day off today. I'm sitting here in my PJs trying to think of all the fun and relaxing things I can do with my day off. Go out someplace nice for lunch, go to a matinee, do some shopping, sit on my ass and play warcraft or watch movies... the possibilities are endless. :)
Anyway, I hope everyone here has a great weekend! Take care!
Andrea
