that is actually really cool ergo. i always did better with a one-on-one approach to math, so i'm sure you're helping them alot. plus, you're like supercalifragilistcally smart.
Its important to help them be successful when they are young, as math concepts build on one another. Over here we have chicago math that acts as a spiral with problems becoming increasingly difficult each go round. Though the concepts are introduced early.
miranth we don't have the same sort of thing here, unless they do in primary school, high school covers all basic maths topics during the year, and each year builds on it, getting more difficult, then in yr 10 there is an advanced option for the later half of the year and in yr 11 and 12 there are 4 possible levels of study these kids are yr 8 so that is the first high school year and they have missed the early basics, so my job is to try and give them a bit of a boost ( a lot have comprehension problems too so I do reading exercises as well)
ergo- I am glad that you are also teaching them critical thinking skills! Its very important and useful in real world applications.
We do chicago/everyday math in grade school. Revisiting the concepts helps the students grasp them - and if there is some deficit, we can see it as the curriculum progresses and take steps to help them earlier.
I can teach middle school as well, but only the topics I am certified to teach.
I am qualified for yr 8 through 12 in maths/science/biology unfortunately if kids aren't caught in earlier grades, the issues have usually been compounded by major behaviour problems, which makes helping all the more difficult
ergo - That is too true! They get frustrated and act out, so helping them be successful earlier is best.
A lot of times administrators will say deficits are just 'developmental' milestones that students haven't yet reached and then pass the resulting problems on down the line. They don't want to spend money on support services for the younger ones. But these practices differ by school district.
Sometimes prison inmates have access to better support services than grade-school students actually!
so i've been sitting here for some while, typing and deleting, stopping to think, listening to the music in my headphones (just a bit distracting that). i've got this little file folder of topics in my mind and in riffling through them i see i've already relied on them much too heavily. i mean, do you really need to read another good night from me filled with artsy-fartsy pagan nonsense?
there were a few good things that happened today, that tallied today up on the good side, but they were tiny, not much to say in them. they aren't lending themselves to much of a good night.
so, it's back to meandering then, to set my mind at ease enough to go to bed. i'm in the habit of tucking it in with these good nights to you.
you know, yesterday my mom was in a reminiscing mood. i learned that i actually reached out and pinched out the candle on my first birthday cake. crazy baby. *grin*
but the best story was about my dad. mom told me she couldn't remember hearing him sneeze once in the seventeen years they were married, not once. she asked him about it one time, and he said that he had been told when he was a boy that when you sneeze your heart stops, just for a moment. he believed it still, and mom said that he would "practically kill himself" struggling to keep from sneezing, because he didn't want his heart to stop.
this astonished me, and amused me so much! i mean, my dad wasn't really a superstitious guy, not that i knew. learning he picked up pennies was charming, but this...!
i'd hug him if he was here still. it makes me wonder what else he believed. of course, i have my own superstitions -- i have a whole host of them that i subscribe to in varying levels of seriousness. i always figured it was just because, you know, silly witchy lady here, but now i wonder, how much of my willingness to believe is a gift from him?
i'm smiling to think of it. :)
but it also makes me wonder what else i didn't know about him, and what else have i yet to understand about myself.
there's always something else to be learned, isn't there? i know some people who are content to allow themselves to live within a very narrow definition of themselves, and they seem to have abandoned any inner life, but most of us are layers of thoughts and ideas and emotions and beliefs and contradictions and reactions and dreams and skills...
i want to be that kind of person forever, the one who is always astonished to learn something new about hereself, the one who is always willing to learn something new about her friends. i think people are the most interesting of all.
so, to bed. i've rambled my way into sleepiness.
mayo, if you see a penny on the ground tomorrow, will you pick it up?
Wow! My sister just visited me at 3am without calling first! She knows I stay up late, but damn. She is the nice one though, so I can't be mad at her! There are a few of us who didn't conform to the mold. :)
The laptop overheated while I was away and powered down, deleting what I wrote. I have all the fans blowing on it while I type.
I made a tour of some of the blogs, but I will give my computer a rest now!
Wendy - Thank you! And I meant to ask you how your animal friends and fuzzy people were doing?
ergo and BC - My niece is pretty good, thanks for asking. She is on so many medications that even though she keeps getting the colds and viruses going around, she has only missed a day of school every two weeks, which is not bad!
Mayo - I agree, it does look a bit like a rooster, now that I look at it again, but the gestural blue strokes make it look like a very active rooster! It might fly away any minute now. :) Exploding cock, indeed!
Hi, how are you? I hope all is well in your world. Mine seems pretty okay at the moment. Everything is rolling right along, nothing to bitch or whine about, but it's early.
Gimme a few hours and I'll mindfuck myself into a corner that I'll be all too happy to sit in right by myself.
If I could only hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign around my neck....
Get me?
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but who knows about the day after or the next night.
Love to YOU Always, S
p.s. Complete with fantastic foreplay fourhundred different ways and cuddling, coddling, and kissing afterwards.
What a lot of lovely familiar faces have been passing through lately. So good to see them all again, even if fleeting. =)
MJ, Your evening pills have made for some interesting reading. ;) Promise me you'll lock up your home first before taking them okay!? Your kitties and we need you. =)
Kapunua, Glad you're feeling better and hopefully able to keep something more down now. =)
616, If you lose anymore weight with illness I'm not going to see you when you turn sideways! Just little and often. =)
BC, Reading through you've been having a lot of tiredness and headaches. Have you thought about getting some bloodtests/ and or eyetests done, sweetie?
anon Oct8, 4:16pm said, Elena did you suggest Mayo finger pants? Haha! Shhh, 4:16! We let them believe that size doesn't matter. ;)
Elena, Could you please suggest fingerpants instead of fingerpainting this time, as the result may be quite interesting. =)
Hi Mayo, Nice job. Your picture is very appealing. I'd offer you a hose, but you've probably got it covered and in hand. ;)
SS, The redecoration of your home was inspired by Ergo! Lovely choice. Nice to see you walking these halls boldly again. =)
Ergo, BATHURST THIS WEEKEND!!! Yep. Brrrmmm. =)
Well, it appears I'm either dirty or doctor today. Not a good mix!
Hey Ergo, my fellow rev head! Bathurst is compulsory viewing!! I love it. Did you see the year the kangaroo jumped across the track between the cars??! O_o
And I adored Peter Brock too. So sad. I have not seen the statue!Argh!! Why have I not known about this?
and the notorious rock on the track years ago with Dick Johnson
the statue was just unveiled today, it was on the news, ready for the race. He was a great driver and a great man, such a loss to the sport and the nation
Mayo “The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don't know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened.”* I love this moment, when I can still lie and believe. before I have to face the day. My dreams are usually so entertaining, though often surreal. Have you ever had a moment when you are describing an event and suddenly realise you dreamed it? It's a little awkward, do you admit it? or sort of waffle on and deftly alter the subject? What about if you realise it's a novel? I often find I start as "I know this person who...." then have the thought "oh shit, this is fiction" but you know, if the story is important in it's meaning I continue, for I do see those characters as people I know, though perhaps only for a while, they can stay with me always. Wishing you friends both real and fictional and sweet delightful entertaining dreams Much love EP xx
SS “We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are.”** Isn't it always the case, you can fail to appreciate the now, as you anticipate the next.I do like to take that moment to see the good around me and I hope you can also. A smile, a touch, birdsong, fractured sunlight throwing tiny rainbows.. Sending you the time to pause and centre yourself, see the beauty, and enjoy lotsa love EP xx
goodnight blogbelieve, see you in my morning ♥xx♥

(with bloddy and bloody spelling errors corrected!)
You know, normally I don’t remember yesterday or last week or even five minutes ago. I just don’t remember stuff. Sucks most of the time. But I can tell you what I was doing on this very day one year ago. Every last detail. It started at around three in the morning. I almost lost my husband on this day last year. I thought our life was over. I thought my son would have to grow up without his father. I thought 31 is just way too young. I know I’ve mentioned the accident before but this day just brings it all back. I’m sorry for repeating myself. He flipped his truck and was thrown from the vehicle. He was found in the middle of a cotton field where he’d been for over an hour. They didn’t think he’d even make it to the hospital. Do you want to know what my last words were to him before the accident?
Now, I sit back and think about how lucky I am to be able to do things differently. He’s changed. I’ve changed. We still have our moments but I never, ever leave the house without telling him that I love him. He never goes to bed without telling me how much I mean to him and how thankful he is to still have me. That’s the way it should have always been.
I don’t know what’s going on in your life, Mayo. I don’t even know if this will make sense to you. But if there is anything that has been left undone, any words that have been left unspoken make it right.
Make sure the people in your life know you love them.
Make sure that if you’ve wronged a friend to tell them you’re sorry.
If you have a chance to make things right, just do it. You never know if it might be your last chance.
Anyway, just thought I’d share that with you and I’d like to say thank you again for allowing us to continue to do this here. Hope you are well and you are happy.
Good *insert time of day here* Mayo, SS, Ergo, Pickled Bloody Possum, Miranth, Sweetcheeks, TJ, Sdock; various anons, watchers and lurkers; all creatures (bloody or not) in the land o'blogbelieve!
How are you all this morning/afternoon? In decent health, relatively happy and well rested, I hope! Me, I'm tired. I think I need to borrow some of Martha's pills! ;)
Amy: *takes a (late) bow* FABULOUS, you say? Thank you! I don't think I'll ever be able to outdo that exit! But, I'll try just for you! ;)
Miranth: I'm sorry to hear about your laptop. I hope it's cooled off by now! Exactly what was in that comment (to cause your machinery to overheat), young lady? Mayo's combustability is contagious!!!
My fur babies and furry people are all doing well. The non furry people too! Thanks for asking, Miranth! I'm glad to hear your niece is doing a bit better. How's the rest of the family? I hope you managed to get some sleep after you sister left.
Ergo: I'm glad you found the *smoooooooch* I left for you!!! Did you get any more of those pictures uploaded? BATHURST, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never heard of that race before; but, you and Possum seem excited about it so I am too! *smoooooooooch*
Possum: I'm trying. I am! Hmmm....I seem to recall Elena had a cookbook for roadkill.
*eyes possum* *mouth starts watering* *gets ravenous look in her eyes*
OH NO! I must not eat my friends!
*decides to try J and L's baby food recommendations*
Sweetcheeks: I hope you're feeling better today! Try not to do too much until you shake this bug. You do have permission to go to the grocery store and purchase a few cans of soup. You may also eye a certain butcher boy while you are there. That'll make you feel better!!! ;)
Submitted for your reading pleasure and pondering consideration today: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Have a great day, everyone!

PS: I agree with Possum. It IS very nice to see some old (as in familiar and friendly) faces!
Hi Bella, SisM, Paperheart, SIM, Jade, Safe and PJ!
That's horrible, Smoke. He, you and your family were very lucky/blessed indeed! You are correct. Not everyone gets a second chance ~ a new lease on life. Thank goodness your family did. Thank goodness you learned such a valuable lesson from something that could have been so tragic, so devastating.
so get this: i just found out today that i might not be able to vote in the coming election. D:
i checked my voter status today and it's inactive, and it looks like i just missed the deadline to update it, dammit!
and i just missed the deadline to register here, as well.
why didn't i think of this last week??
i can't believe i might not be able to vote. that's something i've always taken very seriously, even though i don't have much taste for politics.
so i'm going to call the county auditor there in wa and see if there's anything at all that can be done. i'm just wracked that this election might pass me by - it's such an important one!
TJ sorry to hear about your voting nightmare! that's so frustrating and annoying!
Princess thanks for sharing again re your husband's accident. i knew he had been injured in one a while back but i didn't know when it was or the details. you are both so lucky that he survived, the vehicle looks a mess! you are right we should really make sure we tell the ones we love how much we really do!
i really can't stop though but hello to everyone and hope your days/nights go smoothly!
I think alot of people thought you were a random anon here to start trouble. You have been here awhile.I'm sorry i gave you a hard time. I do respect the ones that have been here when this blog started. Sorry you had a bad time. I'm sure your friends will be glad to see you.
TJ your voter status changes? gee, that's a pain , ours is just registered or not, but it's compulsory here
Smoke, how scary! You are really blessed that he was spared.I hate leaving anyone on bad terms, because of possibilities just like that. I'm so glad it ended well
no, not Mayo and the lovelies, a long time ago there were attempts to have a blog for the lovelies to discuss things away from anons but they were found and so deleted
You are still the strongest person I know and I'm proud to call you my sister and my best friend.
Da Rake is the luckiest mother effer I know. One, he survived a near fatal wreck. Two, he laid out in field for God knows how long before help arrived. Three, he made it through, he can walk and talk and function, and didn't lose a lick of his personality or the things that make him special. (God help us!)
And finally and most important of all, he has you and LHM.
Most people spend their whole life searching for love like that.
*slaps Da Rake just cause*
Dude has put more grey hairs in my head than I can count, but he has also left me rolling on the floor unable to catch my breath from laughing so hard. Oh and did I mention that my sister kind of sort of loves him just a little bit? So that counts for something.
I ♥ him though. He looks after me like the brother I never had.
it's a bit showery (Fim! the rain frog was right!!) other than that it's swimming carnival at the school so i have the day off! Be prepared for blog of holiday pics in a while!
that's good we haven't had any real rain yet, but the wet season starts around now so we hope it'll be a good one this year, Oz dries out a lot so the rain is very welcome, but preferably not floods again!
How are you? Well, I hope you are well. I have just been staring at your picture, and something stuck out to me, for some strange reason, it doesn’t look like you painted this with a finger. I love the blue, it is my favourite colour after all but the blue paint just doesn’t look like it was made with a finger, maybe a brush. Also, in my opinion, it looks like you are painting over the picture of the rooster like you were trying to block it out. Are you trying to scribble or paint over something in your life that you find annoying? Or maybe something that you don’t necessarily like because why else would you try to block it out? Heck I don’t know, I just felt the need to ask if everything was ok because of the way the brush strokes and the way you painted over something looked. Maybe you are ok and you just fancied going crazy with the blue paint, just wanted to check on you :)
Anyhoots, it is Solly’s birthday tomorrow so big party all around. I think she will probably dance to the ‘cheeky girls’ but she doesn’t know who they are so that makes it even funnier for me lol.
i think she would like to lick it with you. maybe you could have the left side, and she could have the right side? or maybe you could have the top, and she could have the bottom?
I don't think it matters if Mayo painted it with a brush, his finger or a veggie. It was clearly intended to make a certain Lovely aware he is still listening to her. He still cares.
And that is what should be noted. The Meaning. Behind the effort. That is beautiful. Please just try to appreciate it Fimble Star. Don't dispell the meaning by drudging up unconsequential things...
I was in the pool with the tornado and poppy, when i saw dickie and he was with his family. around 8 dickies was outside my door, so i took torando to feed them. i think he enjoyed the food but they were fighting with each other over it lol. tornado loves dickie so much, she wants a picture with him but i wont let her because he will probably want to peck her hair lol.
Sorry for the interruption. I just had to share that one!
How've you been RW? Any new posters/paintings for the wall? Maybe Mayo will let you get your hands (or flammable fingers) on his "combustable cock"! ;)
For the (official) record, I think the blue/white does look like it was done by fingers. Angry fingers at that! It appears to be one of those instances when the artist is "inflamed", takes his/her hand and ~ in anger and/or frustration ~ just smears the heck out of the painting.
Of course, I could be wrong! It does happen! I won't say how often. ;P
Thats what i like about art, 616. It can look and mean something different to everyone. I just know i love the colour blue :) And i will try and stay away from the tornados, they always say that there is one around or that it may happen but i havent been in one yet, so i count myself lucky for that one.
Hey guys, back now and the tornado is sound asleep. bless her little cotten socks :)
No, I'm afraid I never got it. I was about to, but then I got sick again so I immediately went back home. Right now I'm at home recovering. The headache is gone, thankfully.
How are you? I've been walking around all evening thinking it was Friday. I think I'm on Aussie time!
It's Reeko's fault! Yes, that's it! He's been whispering sweet nothings in my ear trying to confuse me. He has succeeded! He's an evil Roo; but, I still love him! ;)
Hi Sweetcheeks!!! How was your day? Are you feeling better?
hi wendy! actually she's pretty much done with her convalescence -- back to work and everything. she's taking things slow, but she was getting bored sitting around the house all day. :)
Did you get my e-mail, sweetcheeks? I'm glad to hear you're eating something.
A nap sounds like a good idea. I think I should go try to grab one. I have a busy day tomorrow. It's grandparents day at my nephew's school. I've been his, and my niece's, substitute grandparent for almost 10 years now.
I always love the strange looks I get and the "You can't be a grandparent?" questions/statements from the newcomers. ;)
even if no one gets me, if i'm the only one laughing at my jokes, i won't hide myself away from life. it's uncertain and it's dirty and it's fucking exciting, and i want to be a part of all of it.
it's too good to waste in hiding.

heart full
Today on my way home from class, I stopped off at the petrol station for some petrol. I paid on my card which wasn’t a lot, and then as I was getting into my car, I saw an old man walking past the building. He had a red and green stripy jumper which was frayed at the ends. He was also wearing some jeans that were dirty and had holes all over.
I sat there and became intrigued by him because I didn’t know what he was doing, so as I sat there and watched him, he continued doing what he set out to do.
He walked past the trash cans and first picked out a cup with some drink still in it (one of the cups that you get from burger king that has coke in it). He then walked over to the next trash can and pulled out the end of a half eaten sandwich. In my shock horror, he ate it and then went to sit on the wall to drink the drink he had found.
I felt sad, I wanted to give him my last $4 that I had but I was told when I was younger that you should never give people money, you should give them something they need or can use because that way, if they had an addiction, they would not be able to use the money for their addiction. So I went into the shop and bought a chicken sandwich from their deli counter and then walked out of the building.
The guy was still sat at the wall drinking his drink so I walked up to him and asked him if he would like this sandwich. He thanked me and said that he was hungry.
I should of felt good after that, doing something for someone else but all I could think of is where his next meal will come from or where in fact he will sleep tonight.

(Tonight, although I am cold and my feet are sore, my belly is full.)
It helped.
Jennicula,
Thank you for sharing your story. Although it only appeared briefly, I was lucky enough to have caught it.
Once upon a time, for me, that was the best part of this place...having my words related back to me from another's perspective.
And it never mattered to me who said it, just that it meant something to the writer.

Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life. Hold your head up high and be proud of who you are. If you've had a shitty day and you feel like people just don't want you to be happy, and when you find yourself struggling to make it through the day, just keep on believing and keep the faith. Also, from personal experience, don't push people away. When they say they want to help and that they are there for you, let them in. Believe me, I know how fucking scary that thought is, but don't shut others out.

Retro-spectacled
Sometimes, when you look back on stuff in your life, you know, the crap that makes you shake your head and say, "Holy shit, what the Hell was I thinking?" it's part of what makes you - you.
I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I have made small mistakes and really big, fucking scary mistakes. Would I change those mistakes and blunders?
No. Wanna know why?
Because they make me - me. They help make up the person that I am, what I've learned the hard way. Hopefully I've learned from my mistakes and have become a better person for it. And, hopefully I don't repeat those same mistakes. Although, sometimes I repeat variations of certain ones, but I'm working on that. :)

aloft
Blazing against the sun like locusts, samaras swarm the sky and skitter to an earthly end, dry like clever words. I want to make them fly up, flip heaven upside down and dance across the top of hell and sing your thoughts to the sound of thunder that you love so well, rip open the littered sky and bathe in the light or draw across the firmament the blanket of the night.
In only a day they have covered the ground, their brief flight yielding nothing permanent on infertile land, a fleeting moment of swarming glory that calls to mind our own short story: Diamonds and petals, the loom and the light, the inkdark moon, foxfire marsh, an open, waiting hand.
Clever winged seeds of childhood reminiscent-- and like the idiot grown-up heart, as stubbornly indehiscent.

Electric Blue
…today I saw a ulysses butterfly it was in our yard and settled to feed on our hibiscus. They really are fantastically beautiful things, the electric blue is amazing, however as they sit with their wings closed they are rather nondescript and dull. Sometimes people are like that, from the outside they seem unappealing but within there hides an amazing beauty for those lucky enough to see it. I hope you appreciate beauty in all things, and look for it perhaps where others miss it.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.
I read your post again and suddenly without warning memories of construction paper filled my head. I remembered all the lop-sided flowers my girls made when they were young. Bright blue, yellow and pink flowers that were cut out with blunt end scissors would fill the windows to decorate for Easter. An occasional bunny was attempted but those usually ended up looking like creatures from a horror movie. Flowers were so much easier. I can close my eyes and hear the paper being cut into petals. I can smell the Elmer’s glue squirted on in huge blobs to attach each misshapen petal to form the flowers. We had a huge arts and crafts box full of wonderful items just waiting for their imaginations to turn into something wonderful. In my mind I see my daughters, as they once were, small, blond little girls sitting on the floor surrounded by scraps of paper and other art supplies. They would create their masterpieces then proudly show each other. Oh and Lord the messes that would ensue if the glitter made an appearance. Now, the box is forgotten. I’m not really sure where it even is anymore. The few flowers so lovingly created that survived are faded and dusty and high on a shelf they sit. Time marches on, so many things get left behind.
Today was the first Easter I spent alone. I don’t think it really upset me until I remembered the construction paper flowers. Of course I understand that my daughters are growing up and have lives of their own. But understanding doesn’t make it any easier to accept. I miss my little girls in their frilly Easter dresses. I miss the laughter that filled the house when they found what the Easter Bunny left for them. And I miss making the damn flowers.

and one girl said she finally gets variables, I am doing pre-algebra this first 2 weeks
ie 2k = two k's
so 2k + 5k = 7k
:]
io only have another 15 mins or so if my student comes
Hunting the Snark has made me think of Jabberwoky, I recited it for a drama exam in high school

Its important to help them be successful when they are young, as math concepts build on one another. Over here we have chicago math that acts as a spiral with problems becoming increasingly difficult each go round. Though the concepts are introduced early.
Do you do the same thing over there?
That's ok miranth. Thanks for stopping by at my blog :)

these kids are yr 8 so that is the first high school year and they have missed the early basics, so my job is to try and give them a bit of a boost ( a lot have comprehension problems too so I do reading exercises as well)
which anon are you speaking to 1:14 and 1:18?
ergo, maybe you could make up that $50 by charging for the next time you have to go get your clothes off the line?
;)
nice idea TJ!
1:35 and 1:36. They went hunting.
I was the only anon from 11:40 up until then as far as I'm aware.
maybe the slithy toves got them
ow. wun wittle wabbits.
you're welcome ergo. just trying to help you out. :)
did you have your fun 1:14 and 1:18?
puh leeze!
Nope.
why not? are you angry about the wabbits?
Don't be so ridiculous, of course not!
ergo- I am glad that you are also teaching them critical thinking skills! Its very important and useful in real world applications.
We do chicago/everyday math in grade school. Revisiting the concepts helps the students grasp them - and if there is some deficit, we can see it as the curriculum progresses and take steps to help them earlier.
I can teach middle school as well, but only the topics I am certified to teach.
run rabbit run rabbit run run run
don't give the farmer his fun fun fun
"bang bang bang" goes the farmer's gun
so run rabbit run rabbit run run run
2:03
puh leeze what?
I am qualified for yr 8 through 12 in maths/science/biology
unfortunately if kids aren't caught in earlier grades, the issues have usually been compounded by major behaviour problems, which makes helping all the more difficult
wabbit wunning away
Haha
ergo - That is too true!
Help is a little late then, I would say!
oh poor anon
well I'm off to check up next doors house while they're away
see you all tomorrow as you'll all probably be gone when I get back
sweet dreams TJ, BC, miranth, anon(s)
Bye ergo!
It looked like I killed the blog!
Sorry you are sad anon. I hope you feel better.
bye ergo (enjoy the pool!)
i'd best be getting off to bed, as i might be sleepy. i probably am. i'll assume i am. *grin*
good night miranth, good night anons and lurkers.
sweet dreams all.
mayo,
so i've been sitting here for some while, typing and deleting, stopping to think, listening to the music in my headphones (just a bit distracting that). i've got this little file folder of topics in my mind and in riffling through them i see i've already relied on them much too heavily. i mean, do you really need to read another good night from me filled with artsy-fartsy pagan nonsense?
there were a few good things that happened today, that tallied today up on the good side, but they were tiny, not much to say in them. they aren't lending themselves to much of a good night.
so, it's back to meandering then, to set my mind at ease enough to go to bed. i'm in the habit of tucking it in with these good nights to you.
you know, yesterday my mom was in a reminiscing mood. i learned that i actually reached out and pinched out the candle on my first birthday cake. crazy baby. *grin*
but the best story was about my dad. mom told me she couldn't remember hearing him sneeze once in the seventeen years they were married, not once. she asked him about it one time, and he said that he had been told when he was a boy that when you sneeze your heart stops, just for a moment. he believed it still, and mom said that he would "practically kill himself" struggling to keep from sneezing, because he didn't want his heart to stop.
this astonished me, and amused me so much! i mean, my dad wasn't really a superstitious guy, not that i knew. learning he picked up pennies was charming, but this...!
i'd hug him if he was here still. it makes me wonder what else he believed. of course, i have my own superstitions -- i have a whole host of them that i subscribe to in varying levels of seriousness. i always figured it was just because, you know, silly witchy lady here, but now i wonder, how much of my willingness to believe is a gift from him?
i'm smiling to think of it. :)
but it also makes me wonder what else i didn't know about him, and what else have i yet to understand about myself.
there's always something else to be learned, isn't there? i know some people who are content to allow themselves to live within a very narrow definition of themselves, and they seem to have abandoned any inner life, but most of us are layers of thoughts and ideas and emotions and beliefs and contradictions and reactions and dreams and skills...
i want to be that kind of person forever, the one who is always astonished to learn something new about hereself, the one who is always willing to learn something new about her friends. i think people are the most interesting of all.
so, to bed. i've rambled my way into sleepiness.
mayo, if you see a penny on the ground tomorrow, will you pick it up?
good night, my friend.
Bye for now everybody!
:)
Mayo,
Hi, how are you? I hope all is well in your world. Mine seems pretty okay at the moment. Everything is rolling right along, nothing to bitch or whine about, but it's early.
Gimme a few hours and I'll mindfuck myself into a corner that I'll be all too happy to sit in right by myself.
If I could only hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign around my neck....
Get me?
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but who knows about the day after or the next night.
Love to YOU Always,
S
p.s. Complete with fantastic foreplay fourhundred different ways and cuddling, coddling, and kissing afterwards.
Morning all!
What a lot of lovely familiar faces have been passing through lately. So good to see them all again, even if fleeting. =)
MJ,
Your evening pills have made for some interesting reading. ;)
Promise me you'll lock up your home first before taking them okay!? Your kitties and we need you. =)
Kapunua,
Glad you're feeling better and hopefully able to keep something more down now. =)
616,
If you lose anymore weight with illness I'm not going to see you when you turn sideways! Just little and often. =)
BC,
Reading through you've been having a lot of tiredness and headaches. Have you thought about getting some bloodtests/ and or eyetests done, sweetie?
anon Oct8, 4:16pm said,
Elena did you suggest Mayo finger pants?
Haha! Shhh, 4:16! We let them believe that size doesn't matter. ;)
Elena,
Could you please suggest fingerpants instead of fingerpainting this time, as the result may be quite interesting. =)
Hi Mayo,
Nice job. Your picture is very appealing.
I'd offer you a hose, but you've probably got it covered and in hand. ;)
SS,
The redecoration of your home was inspired by Ergo! Lovely choice.
Nice to see you walking these halls boldly again. =)
Ergo,
BATHURST THIS WEEKEND!!!
Yep. Brrrmmm. =)
Well, it appears I'm either dirty or doctor today. Not a good mix!
Have a super day.
'Night all! =)
*licks Socky on the way out* ;)
hiya sdock , have a great thursday
PP!!!!!
Bathurst!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you see the Peter Brock statue? I always watch the race, it's cool to think you will too!
I'm going to go and look for it! =)
I do remember that one!
and the notorious rock on the track years ago with Dick Johnson
the statue was just unveiled today, it was on the news, ready for the race.
He was a great driver and a great man, such a loss to the sport and the nation
Found it. =)
Cripes! I must have just walked out before it came on the news.
I remember hearing the word'slingshots' from the kitchen.
It's a lovely tribute. He was a remarkable driver and a true Aussie legend.
We had a lot of time and respect for him over here.
How long do you think before those bloddy galahs get it? ;)
Hope you've got your tinnies ready. =)
*bloody, bloody, bloody! - not bloddy.
That's better. =)
sure do PP!
Lets give a toast as the race starts! then we know we're doing it together!
It's a date, Ergo. =)
And apologies for the bad words at the end of your lovely post. #^_^#
Righto, time to go for me, and I guess it is time for you as wellas you've posted.
It's been lovely being around the same time as you. We must do it again. =)
Sweet dreams, Ergo. =)
'Night.
xoxo

“The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don't know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened.”*
I love this moment, when I can still lie and believe. before I have to face the day.
Wishing you friends both real and fictional and sweet delightful entertaining dreams
Much love EP xx

Isn't it always the case, you can fail to appreciate the now, as you anticipate the next.I do like to take that moment to see the good around me and I hope you can also. A smile, a touch, birdsong, fractured sunlight throwing tiny rainbows..
Sending you the time to pause and centre yourself, see the beauty, and enjoy
lotsa love EP xx

TO BE PLAYED AT MAXIMUM VOLUME
and that would be comment.....Let me count the ways.
Good Morning Mayo!
“I’m done with you.”
What I woke up to on October 9th, 2007
See you around.
XOXO

*eyes possum*
*mouth starts watering*
*gets ravenous look in her eyes*
That'll make you feel better!!! ;)

PS: I agree with Possum. It IS very nice to see some old (as in familiar and friendly) faces!
Hi Bella, SisM, Paperheart, SIM, Jade, Safe and PJ!
O_O
That's horrible, Smoke. He, you and your family were very lucky/blessed indeed! You are correct. Not everyone gets a second chance ~ a new lease on life. Thank goodness your family did. Thank goodness you learned such a valuable lesson from something that could have been so tragic, so devastating.
I'm off now....

good morning everyone/anyone.
so get this: i just found out today that i might not be able to vote in the coming election. D:
i checked my voter status today and it's inactive, and it looks like i just missed the deadline to update it, dammit!
and i just missed the deadline to register here, as well.
why didn't i think of this last week??
i can't believe i might not be able to vote. that's something i've always taken very seriously, even though i don't have much taste for politics.
so i'm going to call the county auditor there in wa and see if there's anything at all that can be done. i'm just wracked that this election might pass me by - it's such an important one!
crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap
i know i'm easily distractable, and a bit of an airhead sometimes, but why didn't i think of this earlier?
*repeated headdesk*
*sigh*
well, must go now. thanks for giving me a space in which to flail, mayo. *rueful grin*
see you guys later.
bye blogbelieve.
bye mayo. :)
These Love anons HAVE GOT to be 15.
hey mayo!
hey SS!
hey blogbelieve!
i cannot stop but this is so funny!
haha!
TJ sorry to hear about your voting nightmare! that's so frustrating and annoying!
Princess thanks for sharing again re your husband's accident. i knew he had been injured in one a while back but i didn't know when it was or the details. you are both so lucky that he survived, the vehicle looks a mess! you are right we should really make sure we tell the ones we love how much we really do!
i really can't stop though but hello to everyone and hope your days/nights go smoothly!
and please click on the link it's priceless!
god i just clicked on it again! i dunno what's funnier Frank or Ray!!
that's made my day!
seeya guys!
so mayo can have cock on his blog but kapu can't have cock on hers without getting shouted down about it?
Dickweed is fixing to make a new post ...maybe they can explain...I doubt it.
Thanks for the fucking news flash. No one here would care so why start shit? Talk about stirring.....
You did inspire me though, thanks for that.

You welcome...and i do think people that are here would care. Maybe you could be a little more clear on THE TRUTH!

Hands stick to dickweed ...you dropped this.
See, I noticed something about this entire thing. People can say they have no gripe with me signed in but the complaints are all anon.
Thank you dickweed for the truth.
I wil take that stick back now.
I'm not violent so it's still clean. Thanks
I think alot of people thought you were a random anon here to start trouble. You have been here awhile.I'm sorry i gave you a hard time. I do respect the ones that have been here when this blog started. Sorry you had a bad time. I'm sure your friends will be glad to see you.
Hmmm...
Dickweed,
what secret meetings? are there secret blogs that Mayo and the Lovelies have?
good morning!
Hi dickweed how are tou
hi anons
I think everyone else has gone..
TJ your voter status changes? gee, that's a pain , ours is just registered or not, but it's compulsory here
Smoke, how scary! You are really blessed that he was spared.I hate leaving anyone on bad terms, because of possibilities just like that. I'm so glad it ended well
anon 5:12
no, not Mayo and the lovelies, a long time ago there were attempts to have a blog for the lovelies to discuss things away from anons but they were found and so deleted
*runs in Mayo's*
Hi Ergo!
How's Friday?
*thinks to self, ponders*
It is Friday, right?
Smoke,
You are still the strongest person I know and I'm proud to call you my sister and my best friend.
Hi sdock!
it's a bit showery
(Fim! the rain frog was right!!)
other than that it's swimming carnival at the school so i have the day off!
Be prepared for blog of holiday pics in a while!
how are you?
I'm pretty good, Ergo.
It rained like full grown cats and dogs here today. Scary stuff, but it moved through quickly.
that's good
we haven't had any real rain yet, but the wet season starts around now so we hope it'll be a good one this year, Oz dries out a lot so the rain is very welcome, but preferably not floods again!
I'm off to get groceries, back later
I really shouldn't eat a caramel apple for dinner.
...
Should I?
Mayo
I think she will probably dance to the ‘cheeky girls’ but she doesn’t know who they are so that makes it even funnier for me lol.
eat it rw, eat it and enjoy it :)
*tackles Fimmy for tempting her to gastonomic badness*
Oooooo! Solly's birthday tomorrow!! ^_^
Shall I save her part of my caramel apple?
i think she would like to lick it with you. maybe you could have the left side, and she could have the right side? or maybe you could have the top, and she could have the bottom?
*hugs rw*
i think she would like to lick it with you
O_o
maybe you could have the left side, and she could have the right side?
o_O
or maybe you could have the top, and she could have the bottom?
O_O
*hugs Fimmy*
How are you today, missus? :)
I am ok, finally ready for my leaving. So i have my last days of just relaxing but i doubt i will get much sun, there is a tornado warning.
I have just uploaded a video, rw. If you go on f/b you will see the weather at the moment, its madness.
Oh! A real tornado.
I thought you meant your niece.
Looks very stormy!
I hope Dickie takes cover!
Don't dispell the meaning by drudging up unconsequential things...
i was not and am not trying to take it away from anyone thank you very much.
Everyone can talk about things and i was not being mean, i was simply asking mayo if he was ok.
am i not allowed to do that?
Oh hai, Elena.
cheers rw, yeh a real one but they dont know if one has formed yet. I doubt it will but they have to inform us on every little thing which is good.
I don't think that's fair, 7:02pm.
Fimble is entitled to her interpretation, the same as anyone else.
I apologize for reading into Fimble Star's words incorrectly then. My mistake.
And no, very much not Elena here. But I do consider that a compliment to be thought of as her. Thank you for that 7:04.
Good day then.
Thank you and have a good evening, 7:02pm :)
no need to apologise, 7.02. there is a lot of mistaken confusen around especially when you read something, it is ot like hearing it i suppose.
I just think that a question would of been more to the point rather than jumping in, but i sometimes do that so i am one to talk :)
have a good day/evening/night.
Agreed RW.
7:02 everyone is entitled to an opinion.
She did no harm by doing this.
hey rw, i saw dickie today.
I was in the pool with the tornado and poppy, when i saw dickie and he was with his family. around 8 dickies was outside my door, so i took torando to feed them. i think he enjoyed the food but they were fighting with each other over it lol. tornado loves dickie so much, she wants a picture with him but i wont let her because he will probably want to peck her hair lol.
i will be back, going to put torando to sleep, see you in a few rw and anons.
Aw! I didn't know Dickie was a family man!
I am going to shower, so I shall be back shortly too, FS :)
I did say I was sorry 7:13. I do mean that. I hope this is clear now?
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day.
Goodbye
Hello Mayo, SS, Ergo, RW, Fimble Star, all anons, watchers and lurkers!
How are you all doing? I'm ...well, Oh my...
I just don't know what to say about this!
On second thought, yes I do. LOL!!!!!!
I won't say how often. ;P
Watch out for those tornadoes, Fimble Star!
I shall return later. Have fun!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Hi PJ, L, Elena, MissT, GS, It's Me and BI!!!
Smoke, thanks so much for sharing your story.
I'm so so glad you had a happy outcome. And I'm so glad that they weren't your last words to him in the long run.
It really made me smile when you said they you never leave the house without telling each other that you love each other.
Thanks again sweetie.
Happy Birthday Solly
It is after midnight here Solly so it is officially your birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOLLY
Hi Wendy & Miss T! :D
Hiya Wendy,
Hiya RW,
How are you guys?
I'm well, thank you, Miss T :) Very much looking forward to the weekend!
How are you today?
I'm good thanks RW.
I'm looking forward to pizza friday as usual. I start looking forward to it from saturday onwards hahaha!
Thats what i like about art, 616.
It can look and mean something different to everyone. I just know i love the colour blue :)
And i will try and stay away from the tornados, they always say that there is one around or that it may happen but i havent been in one yet, so i count myself lucky for that one.
Hey guys, back now and the tornado is sound asleep. bless her little cotten socks :)
Hiya fimmy, you mancy dude.
My friend and I had a pizza Friday last week, Miss T. We ordered from a place that has just recently been voted Toronto's best pizza.
It wasn't.
We were rather disappointed :/
I shall have to make my own pizza for her one day. I think I make Toronto's best pizza!
Hi again, missus :)
hey my sheffy wag, whats hanging?
well hello, missy. fancy seeing you here :)

Thank you, Miss T. T'wasn't crap, but t'wasn't very good, either.
*sniff sniff*
Why do you smell like wet fish?

Did you get your buffy comic?
Hi Miss T, how are you? *hugs*
No, I'm afraid I never got it. I was about to, but then I got sick again so I immediately went back home. Right now I'm at home recovering. The headache is gone, thankfully.
Night night, Fimmy :)
Hullo BC :) *SQUEEZE* How was your day?
Oh dear BC.
I'm glad the headache has gone now though.
Are you gonna be able to get it before it sells out?
Hi RW *squeeze*
I spent my day at home, recovering. I'm still ill I'm afraid. How was your day?
Miss T, yeah I sure will. Next issue doesn't go on sale until next month, but I think it's been postponed.
I hbpe you got plenty of rest BC.
*hugs for BC*

How are you? I've been walking around all evening thinking it was Friday. I think I'm on Aussie time!
It's Reeko's fault! Yes, that's it! He's been whispering sweet nothings in my ear trying to confuse me. He has succeeded! He's an evil Roo; but, I still love him! ;)

Hi TJ!!! How are you tonight? Is your sister all recovered yet? I suppose it's a little soon to be completely recovered, isn't it?
hi bc, i'm here too! :)
Hi TJ and Amy
hi wendy! actually she's pretty much done with her convalescence -- back to work and everything. she's taking things slow, but she was getting bored sitting around the house all day.
I always love the strange looks I get and the "You can't be a grandparent?" questions/statements from the newcomers. ;)
Are we going to battle for the top position tonight?
:D
Ha! I won! I must say, you ladies didn't put up much of a fight tonight. I'm a bit disappointed. ;)
TJ: I'm happy to hear that about your sister. I didn't think she would be back at work this soon!
Yep, I got the email sugarplum. Thank you :)
Hey, I was making supper. Sorry! Next time, I'll put up more of a fight.
-A is eating.
And I think I'm gonna take another nap. I might be back, I might not so just in case, goodnight and sweet dreams everyone.
