Dig into her.

Of all the translations of Charles Baudelaire's Rêve parisien that I have read, this version is my favorite.

Parisian Dream

I

That marvelous landscape of my dream —
Which no eye knows, nor ever will —
At moments, wide awake, I seem
To grasp, and it excites me still.

Sleep, how miraculous you are —
A strange caprice had urged my hand
To banish, as irregular,
All vegetation from that land;

And, proud of what my art had done,
I viewed my painting, knew the great
Intoxicating monotone
Of marble, water, steel and slate.

Staircases and arcades there were
In a long labyrinth, which led
To a vast palace; fountains there
Were gushing gold, and gushing lead.

And many a heavy cataract
Hung like a curtain, — did not fall,
As water does, but hung, compact,
Crystal, on many a metal wall.

Tall nymphs with Titan breasts and knees
Gazed at their images unblurred,
Where groves of colonnades, not trees,
Fringed a deep pool where nothing stirred.

Blue sheets of water, left and right,
Spread between quays of rose and green,
To the world's end and out of sight,
And still expanded, though unseen.

Enchanted rivers, those — with jade
And jasper were their banks bedecked;
Enormous mirrors, dazzled, made
Dizzy by all they did reflect.

And many a Ganges, taciturn
And heedless, in the vaulted air,
Poured out the treasure of its urn
Into a gulf of diamond there.

As architect, it tempted me
To tame the ocean at its source;
And this I did, — I made the sea
Under a jeweled culvert course.

And every color, even black,
Became prismatic, polished, bright;
The liquid gave its glory back
Mounted in iridescent light.

There was no moon, there was no sun, —
For why should sun and moon conspire
To light such prodigies? — each one
Blazed with its own essential fire!

A silence like eternity
Prevailed, there was no sound to hear;
These marvels all were for the eye,
And there was nothing for the ear.

II

I woke; my mind was bright with flame;
I saw the cheap and sordid hole
I live in, and my cares all came
Burrowing back into my soul.

Brutally the twelve strokes of noon
Against my naked ear were hurled;
And a gray sky was drizzling down
Upon this sad, lethargic world.

— Edna St. Vincent Millay, Flowers of Evil (NY: Harper and Brothers, 1936)

Hallo BC! How's your neck feeling? :(

RW, it was all over the news. You're the first province to get snow!

Although I figured it would be us as usual.

Oh, wait! Strike that! Saskatchewan got snow last week, I forgot.

Thanks for the link, anon :)

Batman in a Legend of Sleepy Hollow comic?

Amyranth said...

Like I said last night, it would carry on the tradition of making the costume big enough to cover the snowsuit!

I used to be jealous of all the people who got to have a "normal" Hallowe'en. With dried leaves, and hide and seek in a graveyard, and a full moon. Here, you could never tell, because I can't remember a year without snow.

And, my parents wouldn't let their 8 year old daughter hang around a graveyard at night. :P

Back home on Vancouver Island it usually didn't snow until February.

Halloween was snow-free, but usually rainy.

Amyranth said...

RW, I really didn't think that VI ever got snow. They talk about Vancouver Island getting snow like Africa getting snow.

Anyway, time for me to turn in. Grey suit pattern pieces await tomorrow morning!

Have a good night, all :)

resurrected wreck said...

Are you kiding, A? Vancouver Island's been known to get a dumping of the stuff! Just not very often. When it does, Victoria comes to a stand still. I heard they only have one plow for the whole city.

Goodnight RW!

Mayo,

I challenged you to a sunrise duel, remember?

Dark blues and purples, shades of periwinkle and pale blues, peaches and pinks, and my personal favorite, the bright orange that makes me want to drink the sun. The whole sky starts to glow and I just want to squeeze that fucker down my throat. How can you not be hopeful when watching something as magnificent as that?

Watching all of that while listening to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Doesn't get much better than that now does it?

I'm waiting.

Love to YOU Always,

I'm tempted, actually tempted to buy a pair of gloves, but not before I fuck this up one last time.

So, did anybody see Gerard on tonight's Scream Awards? He doesn't sound like he's from Jersey anymore. :(

Amyranth said...

I didn't even know they were on TV, Anon.

I watched the interview the other day, and I noticed it's a little less than it used to be.

-A

Anonymous said...

There is so much better shit on the Scream Awards than just Gerard Way.

I feel sorry for anyone is watching just for a glimpse at Michael Jackson. :/

Anonymous said...

"for this we're not apologetic!
We are just beyond poetic!

nothing broken, nothing fixed

Be it known I'd so much rather
read my friends and all their "blather,"
on the porch here, where we gather.

Kapu's poem posted on the 'porch' is a DIRECT insult to Amy in almost every single line. Every othere line mentions something that Amy said to them about the way they act up "beyond pathetic", "Blather", everything Amy stood up against.

Can't the porckies just GET OVER IT already. THEY LOST. People who care about what goes on here, WON.

GROW UP. It actually IS beyond pathetic!!

Anonymous said...

Do we need to talk about Gerard?

He's not exactly the most interesting person on this earth.

toujours said...

hello there. how's it going?

i have to admit, i watched the scream awards tonight. my stepdad fled the room, but my mom persevered (she had a book to retreat to).

the tim burton segment was utterly fantastic. :)

Anonymous said...

I agree 12:18 I saw that today and I rolled my eyes. I think Amyranth really got to them with the things she said and they are trying to trike back.

Anonymous said...

Actually, 12:18, it sounds like she insulted the entire Mayo blog.

Anonymous said...

Gerard is a beautiful talented soul. Your negative thoughts are not welcome here. Please take them elsewhere.

Anonymous said...

I think the best thing about the Scream Awards was Robert Downey Jr's video acceptance speech from the Sherlock Holmes set in London.

Anonymous said...

If you read the whole thing..... Yes it does.

Anonymous said...

12:06,

Nope. I find award shows to be quite boring.

"
we greet the castle, greet its lord

That doesn't sound very nice, I wonder who the frothing horde is?

Anonymous said...

What happened to "everyone's opinion is welcome here"? Not everyone thinks Gerard Way hung the moon, you know.

Anonymous said...

Killers, X Files, Broken Bride
never are these words denied,

Wasn't it television show quotes that made Amyranth feel uncomfortable? This is a direct insult to everything Amyranth worked for.

Anonymous said...

I don't remember anyone every saying exact that bad opinions WERE welcome. It was just starting to get nice in here over the last week. Then Kapu's nasty poem and now negative opinions about Gerard.

Amyranth said...

Hallo Teej!

Well Anons, all I have to say is, if that's how they feel about this place now, that's their prerogative.

It's merely an opinion, wouldn't you agree? :)

Goodnight Lovelies, Mayo, SS and Anons.

-A

Anonymous said...

12:26 that is your opinion, and you are entitled to it.

However everyone has one, and you have to respect that.

Anonymous said...

Different cultures and aesthetic,

That is the problem here.

Anonymous said...

It is Amy... Good for you for taking the high road. They can't deal with what you said so they turn bitter. It is not your problem. They ARE 'beyond pathetic'!

Amyranth said...

12:28, I think that people can't agree to disagree. I don't think Gerard hung the moon, but I also don't believe he was the snake in the Garden of Eden, if you catch my drift.

I think he's just a guy who sings for the band that I like.

-A

Anonymous said...

Well Anons, all I have to say is, if that's how they feel about this place now, that's their prerogative.

It's merely an opinion, wouldn't you agree? :)

Goodnight Lovelies, Mayo, SS and Anons.

-A

October 22, 2008 12:31

Obviously it is. Most peoples opinion is that you cleaned the place up and it is much BETTER since they stopped their blather, yes it was BLATHER. They can't handle the fact that it is better since you cleaned the place up, so they turn bitter and they have to post nasty little poems.

It is their loss.

Amyranth said...

Anyway, again, Gracious Guests of Mayonaise's, Goodnight. See you tomorrow.

-A

Anonymous said...

Well amy, you appear pretty level headed.

Unlike the others, I don't necessarily agree with everything posted nor do I need to.

Anonymous said...

At our backs the castle door,
others feel free to ignore
this extension of extended metaphor

Notice them turning their backs on Mayo's. Instead of simply stopping what they were doing, which was making someone uncomfortable, they turn their backs on it.

toujours said...

see ya amyranth. good luck on the gloves.

Hi TJ. Goodnight amy sweet dreams. If I don't come back and respond, I might be off sleeping. Apparently, this infection I have takes a while to get over :/

Anonymous said...

Let the porkies say what they want as long as they say it over there. Let them be bitter. It is their loss.

Anonymous said...

I agree, I just don't like the direct insult to Amy for calling them pathetic. When in fact they are.

Anonymous said...

They changed her words to them from 'beyond pathetic' to 'beyond poetic'. Very childish.

Anonymous said...

I found the poem to be quite clever.

And you forget, the porchies were not the first to use the term "beyond pathetic".

toujours said...

bc, you need to take care of yourself as much as possible! i want you all healed up, too!

Stop kissing their ass and sign in.

Anonymous said...

True 12:42.

There are always two sides to every story.

Anonymous said...

Hmmm I wonder who they are calling the frothing, rabid horde. Those are not nice words.

Anonymous said...

There is the porkies side, then there is the RIGHT side. Sometimes one person is right and you can't deny it. Amyranth was just simply right about them and about their blather.

Anonymous said...

I see the anon witch hunt has begun again.

Anonymous said...

Incredible. If someone has a differing opinion its;

or
porchie!

Maybe that's what you should be doing.

Anonymous said...

Except for the fact that they WERE the poetry anons. Hello? That much is obvious.

toujours said...

so hey, you guys. who here has seen the second "hellboy" movie?

the clips i saw tonight looked pretty good...was it? is it worth trying to rent sometime?

Anonymous said...

We are the hunted ones, and Amyranth is the hunted one. Remember they are "shunning" the "rabid frothing horde". Does that sound like a nice thing to say?

Anonymous said...

Smoke and Fimble Star attacked Amyranth ON HER OWN BLOG. Amyranth was nice to them but they were nothing but sarcastic and confrontational to her. They can't admit that she might be right about them so they lash out.

Anonymous said...

I saw Hellboy II. It's definitely worth renting for Ron Perlman's performance alone. :)

toujours said...

ooh, thanks 12:52. it certainly looked shiny on the award show tonight. :)

Anonymous said...

Just remember, they turned their back on the castle simply because Amyranth was right about them. they called us over here "rabid frothing hordes" and they are NOT APOLOGETIC.

REMEMBER THAT.

I wonder how Mayo feels now that the turned their back on him.

Anonymous said...

He probably feels relieved.

Anonymous said...

You people just love to exaggerate.

Anonymous said...

12:56 (no 1) Why?

toujours said...

actually, does anyone have any other movie recommendations? i haven't seen a movie for months and months, and i'm starting a to-watch list for when i get back on my own.

so far, i've got: hellboy 2; the dark knight; iron man.

what else?

Anonymous said...

Mayo is an asshole that kissed their ass repetedly for them to stay 'cause they were/are attention whores who will kick you in the face if you didn't praise them once a day.

Anonymous said...

Have you seen Pan's Labyrinth toujours?

Anonymous said...

I think he would feel relieved that their blather isn't cluttering up his blog anymore. I can see they are all butt hurt over Amyranth being right. It is hard to know you are in fact pathetic. But she made the place better and I just think that he is glad to not have the blather here anymore. I would be if it were me and my blog.

Anonymous said...

"rabid frothing horde". Does that sound like a nice thing to say?

In reference to anons such as yourself I would say the description is very accurate.

Anonymous said...

I never saw Mayo as kissing their ass. I saw him more as putting up with them because he had to. They were obviously making Amy as well as others uncomfortable with their stupid games, poems and attention seeking ways. I saw it more as tolerance on his part.

Anonymous said...

But she wasn't talking about any anons.

Anonymous said...

No 12.59. Don't you notice that is plural? Hordes means ALL of you. All of us. And since when is giving my opinion being "rabid"?

Anonymous said...

Mayo obviously liked their poetry. You only have to look at what he has posted on the blog to see that.

Anonymous said...

"Hordes" is probably the Family. The Family that Amyranth and others tried to protect by sweeping out their behavior.

Anonymous said...

Plural does not mean all inclusive.

Anonymous said...

Stop trying to speak for Mayo. He liked this poem but that does not mean he liked all of their ENDLESS poetry. besides, remember this. They weren't posting professional poetry. A lot of it was their own written poetry, which is different.

Anonymous said...

1:02, I suspect you and I are not part of this circus.

Toujours, what is your current reading material?

Anonymous said...

And it wasn't just poems that was making it impossible for people like Amyranth to feel comfortable. It was the random quotes and games. It wasn't a matter of simple poetry. Don't try to simplify it into something it wasn't.

Anonymous said...

Really? I can see it tha way, too. But, whenever he didn't pay attention to them long enough, talk to them, he said something they didn't agree with, they would bitch and moan. What he have to do for them to ;) at him again? Put their words up, talk to them, the regular shit.

toujours said...

sorry for the delay, 12:59 -- i was getting more coffee. :)

yep, i saw pan's labyrinth. that was an amazing film. a lot bloodier than i counted on, but very solidly satisfying.

i also watch anime and korean dramas, if anyone has recommendations in those genres.

*hopeful*

Anonymous said...

Honestly, if given a choice between poetry and this contstant ragging on the porchies, I would choose the poetry.

Anonymous said...

The people who care about Mayo and about the Family are the ones who had the decency to try to drive the nonsense out of this blog. The ones still here, who haven't turned their backs on the "castle" are the ones who matter. That much is obvious.

Anonymous said...

They were obviously making Amy as well as others uncomfortable with their stupid games, poems and attention seeking ways.

The constant "blathering" that consists of attacking other bloggers is making me and others uncomfortable, does anyone care about that? Will someone propose a "fix" for that?

Anonymous said...

They started this whole thing by posting that poem which is a direct insult to Amy. If you think that 'beyond poetic' is not a dig on 'beyond pathetic' you are blind.

toujours said...

1:05, today i read dead to me by anton strout. it was okay. i picked it up because he's an author on one of the lj comms i belong to.

tomorrow i will either read superpowers by david j. schwartz (about five college students who wake up with hangovers and superpowers), or the poyson garden an historical mystery by karen harper (the sleuth is actually queen elizabeth I *grin*).

Anonymous said...

The constant "blathering" that consists of attacking other bloggers is making me and others uncomfortable, does anyone care about that? Will someone propose a "fix" for that?

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT AMY'S FIX WAS ABOUT. The poetry and endless quotes and play for attention were making HER uncomfortable. And some of the rest of us "frothing hordes" too.

Anonymous said...

They didn't post it here, did they? You are the ones bringing it here to this blog. You are the ones causing trouble now.

Anonymous said...

1:08 this is not the mafia.

I always thought it was a community, and in a community there are all types of characters.

It's never perfect.

Anonymous said...

Read what Amyranth said. She said she felt like she couldn't even sign on when they were on because they were too busy playing their games and writing poems and stupid "pomes" and such. Did they care about her comfort? Did they care how their blather hurt others? No so why should we care about theirs?

Anonymous said...

They started this whole thing by posting that poem which is a direct insult to Amy. If you think that 'beyond poetic' is not a dig on 'beyond pathetic' you are blind.

But they didn't post it over here. It was posted on their own blog. If was directed at Amy, then let Amy deal with it.

toujours said...

i would like to hear about other good movies, if anyone who like to recommend any.

or, tell us what everyone is doing for halloween? i'm not doing anything, so let me live vicariously through your plans for the night!

Anonymous said...

You porchie defenders obviously cannot see reason. Oh well. It is their loss, they are the ones sulking because they were told the truth by one brave person and they know the were wrong. I hope they enjoy the porch. It's too bad they had to take a dig at Amyranth when she was just trying to help because she actually cares.

Anonymous said...

Come back later, anon.

Anonymous said...

But they didn't post it over here. It was posted on their own blog. If was directed at Amy, then let Amy deal with it.

Common sense here.

Mayo

Well I’m sitting here writing this goodnight in the afternoon. Yep, I’m not gonna be here tonight (or should I say now?) so here I go. To be honest this is hard. My day so far has been pretty boring. I’ve worked on the comics and paid bills. Do I have an exciting life, or what? I did watch “Halloween” while I was working. You know no matter how many times I see that movie I still find myself pulled into the story. Laurie was the perfect “survivor girl”. I think it’s at the end of this month that they are set to release another special edition of the movie for the 30th anniversary. Holy crap, I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since I saw it for the first time. I saw it with a friend at the Drive-In. The second movie was a classic good/bad movie titled “Laser Blast”. Anyway, I have such fond memories of that Drive-In. It was out in the country and every once in a while the cows from the farm next door would wander over to the fence and start mooing. Eventually someone would get out of their car and shoo them away. Oh, good times, good times. The Drive-In is no more. Where it once stood progress has placed a grocery store. It’s sad really that my kids never got to see a movie there. All the Drive-Ins are gone now except for maybe a few in KC, those are not in safe areas. Oh, now I’m all nostalgic for intermissions with dancing hot dogs and singing cups of soda.

Okay, well I really don’t have anything to share with you so I’ll move along. I hope your day is going well. Hey, can you remember the first time you saw “Halloween”? I am assuming you’ve seen it. It’s a classic. Funny how something like watching a movie can bring back so many memories.

So anyway, take care. Talk to ya tomorrow.

Night Mayo

Elena (Dancing hot dogs, playgrounds, mosquitoes and crappy speakers. I loved it all)

toujours said...

good night elena (even though you aren't here *grin*)

1:36, the religious content wouldn't bother me, but just how truly violent is it? is i gratuitous, or does it serve the story (even though it might be excessive)?

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't really call the violence gratuitous, Toujours, although the carnage is pretty over the top, especially in the artwork. But, it does serve the story.

It didn't really disturb me, even though I usually don't care much for violence. I would suggest thumbing through one of the trade paperbacks at the bookstore before you buy it.

toujours said...

thanks, anon. i have to admit i've been curious about the title...we had it on the shelf at my library, but i never had time on my shift to page through it.

i'll probably just hold my breath and dive in. :)

I think you'll enjoy it. It's clever and engrossing.

ergoproxy said...

Tj you may as well have a look, can't hurt!

I loved the drive in, we used to go often, as kids with mum and dad then as teens and young adults with friends, we'd have a few cars, and set the speakers loud (proper speakers too, not the tune in your car radio ones, the ones you set on your window) and sit in front of the cars on blankets with tonnes of food.
Being asleep befoer the second movie, playing in the playground and those ice cream cones with the solid choc coating, older
I remember many nights, mozzies, warm air, or beanies and jumpers but we had a good time, even in the line up to leave

mayo,

as a kid, halloween was my absolute favorite holiday. i was spending all my time drawing witches and ghosts and jack o'lanterns and haunted houses by the end of the first week of the month, and always had a stack of books out on the topic, craft books and short stories and picture books.

as a teen, my friends and i dressed up well past the time we really should have, though we didn't always go trick-or-treating. it was just a night that had to be honored. missing halloween was worse than missing christmas. it wasn't necessarily about the candy (although, i mean...candy! *grin*), it was more that it was a night in which anything seemed possible, and to not taste a little of it a horrible fate.

but, even so, i still felt like i was missing something. i remember this distinctly, the feeling that there was more to halloween, and it was just out of reach. no matter how much fun i had, no matter how successful the haul, i always had a tiny bit of discontent at the night's end.

years later, out of college and spending the holidays with a coven up in seattle, i was standing in circle in a covenmember's backyard. it was dark, it was hallow's eve, and everyone was costumed and painted. there was a small bonfire in the center, lighting our celebration and throwing our shadows onto the back of the house and against the trees. we had just finished dancing the spiral dance, it was a moment where we were all giddy with the rush of energy and the night air and the crackle of the flames. as the cakes and ale began to be passed around the circle, i remember catching sight of our shadows on the house, still dancing the dance.

that's when i realized that i had finally found it -- i had found what was always just out-of-reach all those halloween nights from before.

the sad thing about this is that everything comes with a price. it's only been in the last couple of years that i've recognized that the holiday trappings that gave me so much pleasure as a child don't really raise the same anticipation in me as they did. i still enjoy the decorations on display in the store, still hand out candy to the few trick-or-treaters that knock at the door, but halloween isn't my favorite holiday anymore. i'm looking at it from the other side, and it's something much different to me now.

i can't be sorry about it, the night has come to be such a special one to me. but maybe i do regret, just a little, losing the simple excitement of the holiday, the joy in the scary side, the thrill of walking along the edge of night.

but then, i'm a witch, and have been for many, many years. witches don't walk the edge of night. we dance in the middle of it.

*grin*

whatever the dying of the year means to you, mayo, i hope you take delight in it.

good night, my friend.

Hi everybody!

My signal strength is low - the modem is the problem, so I will hurry.

Mya - Nice to see you again! :)

anima - Nice to see you too - I hope you and your family are doing well!

Wendy - I will do a quick reading - and if the signal remains I'll write it below. Take care of yourself! :)

BC - Are you feeling better? I know you were taking it easy. *hugs*

Anons - I may be rabid :) but certainly not frothing (and never part of a horde) - speak for yourselves!

LEWIS!!! I left you a message at my place - I'll meet you there (much later) if you leave a message. My concentration for my art degree was graphic design, so I hope I was able to help! You're a sweetie for trying to help your sister, too! *hugs* (But I do need to know what message she is trying to communicate.)

PS - TJ and Lewis - I am watching and reading Twelfth Night concurrently. You may be interested in the movie, TJ, if you haven't seen it.

Mayo - I left you a message yesterday and the day before. Take care of yourself!

Bye everybody! Have a great one!

Wendy - I did a quick reading - and I got the ace of cups - which means yes - you could go to the Voodoo festival all three days. (My cards give me an ace in the first row for a yes answer. Most readers use the whole first spread, but I just use the first row. I have a short attention span :D.) However, I asked the question twice and both times I also turned up a four of swords - which means that you may need to rest/heal and be alone for a bit. So if you rest enough, you should be able to attend each day. I would play it by ear though as you shouldn't overtax yourself. The ace of cups was reversed BTW, which signifies inner contentment, rather than external (for my deck).

So maybe you'll be feeling much better soon?

I hope so - and I hope that helps, even though I think you were just joking! :)

Take care - and the same for your animal friends!

Mayo,

Just a song this morning.

Let It Go

I've been caught sideways out
here on the crossroads
Trying to buy back the pieces I lost of my soul
It's hard when the devil won't get off your back
It's like carrying around the past
in a hundred pound sack

Today I'm gonna keep on walking
I'm gonna hold my head up high
I'm gonna leave it all behind
Today I'm gonna stand out in the rain
Let it wash it all away, Yeah wash it all away
I'm gonna let it go Oh yeah
I'm gonna let it go Oh yeah

Skeletons and Ghosts are hiding in the shadows
Threatening me with all the things that they know
Choices and mistakes, they all know my name
But I'm through holding in and
holding onto all that pain

Today I'm gonna keep on walking
I'm gonna hold my head up high
got no more tears to cry
Today I'm gonna stand out in the rain
let it wash it all away yeah wash it all away
I'm gonna let it go oh yeah
I'm gonna let it go oh yeah

I know I know I know I've been forgiven
I know I know I know I'm gonna start living

Today I'm gonna keep on walking
I'm gonna hold my head up high
I'm gonna leave it all behind
Today I'm gonna stand out in the rain
let it wash it all away yeah wash it all away
I'm gonna let it go oh yeah
I'm gonna let it go oh yeah

Oh yeah

I heard it yesterday sung by Tim McGraw. Yeah, country radio pretty much rules our airwaves. Not sure of the songwriter, but when I heard it I immediately thought about how I need to let shit go and the night I told you to let go of the shit that was pissing you off. Get it out, don't hold onto it forever. It's just useless baggage weighing you down and God knows we have enough people, places, and things in our life that do that job just fine without constantly trying to do it to ourselves.

Get me?

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. Live through it, learn from it, and let it go.

The frothing horde are the ones that call them porkies and tell them to go back to the pork, yet they still go over to the porch and read what they say, and post it back over here, just to start trouble.

But we aren't promised tomorrow, are we? So, I guess we should all really live each day like it's our last! Makes you think, doesn't it?

Miss you guys!

Good morning, my friends! I know it's a pain in the ass to backread, but Mayo, if you want to read the reading I posted for you, it is at October 21, 2008 2:22 PM and S(S)S, if you want to read yours, it is at October 21, 2008 2:51 PM. ^_^

In the meantime, I'm really feeling the spirit of the season. Mayo, here's one I think you will like:

Witch-Wife
by Edna St. Vincent Millay

She is neither pink nor pale,
And she never will be all mine;
She learned her hands in a fairy-tale,
And her mouth on a valentine.

She has more hair than she needs;
In the sun `tis a woe to me!
And her voice is a string of coloured beads,
Or steps leading into the sea.

She loves me all that she can,
And her ways to my ways resign;
But she was not made for any man,
And she never will be all mine.

S(S)S, a poem for you today:

The ghosts of all things past parade,
Emerging from the mist and shade
That hid them from our gaze,
And, full of song and ringing mirth,
In one glad moment of rebirth,
And again they walk the ways of earth
As in the ancient days.

The beacon light shines on the hill,
The will-o'-wisps the forests fill
With flashes filched from noon;
And witches on their broomsticks spry
Speed here and yonder in the sky,
And lift their strident voices high
Unto the Hunter's Moon.

The air resounds with tuneful notes
From myriads of straining throats,
All hailing Folly Queen;
So join the swelling choral throng,
Forget your sorrow and your wrong,
In one glad hour of joyous song
To honor Hallowe'en!

-John Kendrick Bangs

(Seriously, if my last name was "bangs" I'd change that sucker. You can just bet that throughout school everyone was like, "I'll bet he does!" Or maybe not, but still. ^_^ )

Ciao, tutti! ♥

Hi everyone,

I see you are having anonymous trouble at this blog too. I am having some at my blog, I have always welcomed different opinions and anonymous comments but racist MSI fans and MCR defenders have come in using derogatory terms.

I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE FOR THIS OFFENSE and I am very sorry!

I put up anew post. this is what it says,

There are a few things I have to say. First of all someone came on here and said that you were not anonymous. As far as I know you all are anonymous. I don't have a tracker or anything, I never had and I never will. You can say whatever you want up to a point, which I will get to later. As for the person saying they knew who you are, or they know who I am, I can assure you they are lying. I don't even know who most of you are and I don't care, as long as you get to vent and say what's on your mind. Disagreeing is fine too. I don't delete comments. I know some people are still fans of MCR and MSI.

I am not one of Gerard's exes or friends, thank God. I am just like most of you, a disappointed ex-fan of MCR. Gerard wouldn't know me and I can assure you he doesn't care what I think. He has enough people paying his bills and paying his and his wife's extravagant LA lifestyle upkeep. Trust me, he doesn't care who I am or who you are or what we aren't buying anymore.

I also do not care who he marries or has sex with or cheats on or if he hooks up with groupies or whatever (although I do think that makes him a total loser but that is just one opinion).... It does show how he feels about women. I don't even really care about MCR or what they are doing these days. But it's fine if you guys still want to talk about it, like I said I don't censor or delete. I don't care if he has pink hair or brown boots. (Even though the pink hair made it even more obvious that he becomes the person he is hanging out with. There is no real Gerard.).

All I care about is the fact that he and his racist, sexist friends and wife are still having the nerve to talk about feminism and call themselves feminists. Gerard is still having the nerve to think of himself and proclaim himself as not bigoted or ignorant. I just wish that the two of them specifically would stop presenting themselves as something they are not because I think that sends a destructive message. If they want to be sexist and racist, that's their prerogative. But to be such a sexist pig and then to preach about feminism is wrong. It's like Sarah Palin calling herself a feminist. You can't redefine terms just because you feel like it. I don't care about LynZ flashing her crotch or what she wears. The only problem is her still calling herself a feminist when all she has done is flash her crotch and marry a rock star to get where she is.

That leads me up to the recent other nasty anonymous people I've had here. I deeply apologise for the anonymous people who are calling some of you racist terms. I don't read here as often as I used to but a friend who still comments here, also a few other people have emailed or messaged me to tell me. Some anonymous people have been calling some of you the N word. I deeply apologize. I don't like to delete comments but that is hate speech and harassment and if you want those comments deleted just tell me where they are and I'll do it. I can't have hate speech like that on this blog. I obviously don't condone it or I would be a fan of MSI.

This proves the point most of us have about MSI. Just because some person or some shitty band thinks it is alright to use hate speech and bigotry, DOES NOT MAKE IT OK. Just because one person or some shitty band thinks those words are funny or that they don't mean anything DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT. And just because some person or some shitty band thinks that you shouldn't be hurt and offended by hate speech DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE WRONG TO FEEL THAT WAY.

That is what MSI and Gerard do not understand. You can't redefine words or tell people that they should just deal with being called things or treated that way just because THEY think it is OK.

I am against censorship and MSI can say whatever they want. I don't have to listen to them and I don't. But, MCR and Gerard proclaim themselves anti bigotry and anti sexist and that is where the problem is. That was proven by the bigoted anonymous person on the last blog. I apologize for them."

I have been warned by some here that it is not a place to have less than good opinions about Gerard or MCR. Opinions are not censored at my blog even though there are disagreements, I welcome them. The only problem is with the racist harassing comments.

If anyone still wants to vent you can come and do that and share your opinions at Three Cheers You Fooled Them All.

While I'm here I would like to say Hi to some of my old friends here.
