The day after the day after tomorrow.

I arrived suddenly, and knew for certain that I was in the best place. It was warm and calm and I stood quietly in the moment, waiting for my turn. But, I quickly realized I was alone. Figuring my wait would be short; I let out a breath releasing the smoke from my lungs and viewed my new environment. All around me the black tar covered ground seemed endless, as if I stood in the parking lot for the world’s demise. Its emptiness ran undisturbed to the limits of my sight, and I thought, “When does it all get here?” Then, as I dropped my spent cigarette to the ground, intending to snub it out with the toe of my boot, something caught my eye.

At the hem of my faded, old black shirt was a white thread and without reflection I pulled it. As I pulled, it continued to reveal itself. So I continued to pull, believing that my shirt would soon unravel. But instead, my shirt remained intact while the string started to wind around itself, twining, until it became as thick as a hangman’s rope. With both my hands I began to work against gravity to slow it down, but it quickly stole my grip allowing the rope to spill out, coiling at my feet. When it stopped its fall, the weight of it almost pulled me over and I realized it must be connected to me. I pulled up my shirt and discovered it cleanly attached to the center of my chest.

Then I noticed smoke coming up from the center of the pile and realized the rope had coiled itself around my still lit cigarette. I frantically began to kick at the rope, fearing that it would fuse its way to my heart, igniting it. My success gave way to alarm as I heard from behind me the approaching sound of children’s laughter. When I turned, they were upon me. Several of them grabbed the rope and ran past me. As I watched the rope begin to take off I grabbed for it, but it slipped in my hand. When it disconnected from my chest I fell to the ground and grabbed for its end, but it trailed off behind them, leaving an inky trace.

I remained on my knees. A dull pain echoed in my chest as I watched the children huddle together holding hands to ears, whispering. Several of them looked over at me, but quickly returned to their attention to the group. I felt like an idiot. Oddly, they seemed unfazed by my presence and began to jump rope, their laughter in time with its swooshing rhythm. So, I asked them “Don’t you know you’re playing with the end of me?” My reply came in the most unexpected way, as the smallest of all the children approached me with the seeping end of the rope, smiled and said, “It’s your turn.”

p.s. I’m always fucking late.

Edwin H. Friedman-

The colossal misunderstanding of our time is the assumption that insight will work with people who are unmotivated to change. Communication does not depend on syntax, or eloquence, or rhetoric, or articulation but on the emotional context in which the message is being heard. People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choicest words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech.

Aloha Mayo and S(S)S.

Well, I'm not even really sure how I should begin today, to be honest! For one thing, Mayo, I'm real sorry for what's become of your blog yet again. I know how I would feel if I was trying to keep a journal and the comments turned into something like this. I'm not going to be polite and pit-pat like some of the other regulars and blame it all on anons. Anons didn't put my information out there. The stat counter is not a malicious tool. Mayo, S(S)S, I know that my information is private with you. I've got tons of hits on my blog as well; I would never, ever think to publish it. It's just not done. It's not how I roll. I don't even save the info once it expires.

However! When I got fired, at first I couldn't believe the malice with which that was carried out. But look at where it led me. Even if I can't quite see right now how having my home town and server plastered all over the blogs could be helpful, the truth is that you really never know. Hey, like maybe Joaquin Phoenix lurks on this blog and he'll be like, "Hmmm, a ghetto biatch in Riverhead, just my type!" And he'll show up at my door. ;D Heehee.

Something good will come of this. Just watch and see. ^_^

Mayo, the other thing I want to tell you aside from that I'm sorry that your blog turned into this madness again, is please don't worry; that is, if you were worried. I don't like to assume things. What I mean is, it's not your responsibility to police this blog. While the weight of your words do go a long way in making people STFU, you can't be expected to go acting like the blog police deleting this and this but not that or the other. No one's blog should be like that.

I'll tell you what though, I was chatting with Elena the other day and I said something funny and wondered if I should say it to you. We were, in fact, talking about the weight your words carry, and I wondered if you saw it, the way I see it. Sometimes, all you have to do is say, "Stop, I disapprove," and like magic, you make them stop. The funny thing I said was that I thought folks got intimidated when you got your bitch on.

Yet in all likelihood, you aren't even here for all of this, and there's no way I'd ask anyone to backread all that junk. So fiddle dee dee!

However, both Mayo and S(S)S! If you did read all that stuff, well, now you know where I live! So, let's have a party at my house! I'll get the Big Sandwich, it'll be great. We'll watch X Files DVDs (I'll force you to watch!) and I will quote them for you in person. How great would that be. In the words of Jackie Chan, "Come to my hood. I will show you my crib."

Haha, just kidding. ^_^

Oh, I did have some things I wanted to show you guys today. This is a really clever comic that my friend linked me to. It's nerdy, sciencey, clever and cute.

OMG, Mayo! Check it out! That just reminded me of that whole joke about "gravitational constant," do you remember?

S(S)S, did you like Star Wars? (Solly and Smoke have never seen it. WTF, I ask you.)

And for everyone else: Perspective.

It's just a blog. :D

Well, later guys! See you around town! :D

Is anyone else completely nervous about tomorrow? Everything changes in the next two days.

Well, hopefully.

So basically.... J said something to Kapunua yesterday. Kapunua went to J's blog to ask her to stop talking to her, in the spirit of keeping it off THIS blog. J caught Kapunua's IP on her stat counter and posted it in her blog. (Even though when the whole stat counter fiasco came out J assured everyone her stat counter was harmless and she would never use it to hurt anyone. And she also said that besides everyone already KNEW she came from Knoxville so what was the big deal. Then she told Kapunua after she posted her ISP to ignore all the hits she had from Knoxville because it wasn't her)!!

Then the anons brought it here. Amyranth called Kapunua a biatch and said she had her IP too and would screen cap it and put it up here to prove that Kapu had been to her blog too. (Even though when the whole fiasco about the stat counter came out, Amyranth assured people she used it only because she thought it was cool to see what random countries visited her and said she would never use it to hurt anyone). Then the anons went crazy, high-fived J and Amyranth, thanked them profusely, posted information about Kapu's town that J posted in her blog, and at the end of it all..... Tourjour offered to be friends with them.

That's what I got out of it.

Anonymous said...

You forgot to add she likes the anons that trash kapunua and her friends.I am sure she has posted as an anon herself.

Anonymous said...

Mostly but you forgot the part where J posted someone else's ISP on Kapu's blog thinking it was Kapu's ISP and Kapu erased it. Then J posted Kapu's real ISO on her blog. That happened too.

Anonymous said...

Amyranth said...

Mayo's?

I wouldn't trade it for the world.

-A

I don't mean to sound harsh, but if Mayo's means the world to Amy, then perhaps she needs to re-think her priorities.

It is only a blog, written by a person whose identity she doesn't even know.

How fucking crazy is it for anyone to place that much importance on it?

Anonymous said...

What I thought was weird was last night when an anon said that with the malice showed by J by putting Kapu's private info up, it was probably J that got Kapu fired. Amyranth immediately came on and said "WE have better things to do than get her fired" even though no one had even mentioned her. And then right after that she said she was going to screen cap her stat counter hits to show Kapu's ISP and town too. So they have better things to do than get her fired but no better things to do than post her personal info? That's interesting.

Anonymous said...

Mayo is important enough to Amyranth for her to try to banish others from here It is important enough for her and J to post another's private info on here. I would say it was pretty important to her.

Anonymous said...

11:37,
Yes, I was the anon who asked Amy if that was a Freudian slip and she came back with a completely obsurd answer...something about her bathroom floor?

I think the girl is completely batshit.

Anonymous said...

Why am I seeing Christmas stuff already? God! Can they let me mourn Halloween a little bit for a while? Jeez! I'm just not ready for the whole "holiday season" bit yet. I need at least two weeks.

Anonymous said...

I have to go feed my aviary birds and take my bad dogs out for a run.

After that I guarantee I will be bored.

Anyone for some poetry? ^_^

Anonymous said...

Oh, anons, whoever it was that got me fired, it doesn't matter. I can only thank them for pretty much putting me through college. ^_^

And like I said, maybe something good will come of this, as well. In fact, I think it must!

Amyranth said...

Pot, meet kettle.

*smiles*

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Yes Jules. Even you. *waves*

Anonymous said...

Post them over here kapunua..She that smiles is at work.

Anonymous said...

Kapunua just be careful. I know you probably feel safe in your home town and maybe thinking , Who would come after me in my home town?

But you didn't expect them to send emails to get you fired.

And you didn't expect J to post your private info because you went to her blog to ask her to stop.

You are too trusting with these people. Don't put anything past anybody. Then you have that creepy guy who says he knows you. I know you like "Carlaf" but you don't know if he is really a good person or not. You can never tell. I always found it creepy.

Just be careful. You didn't expect any of this stuff. It's always what you don't expect.

I hope you are all well. I hope you all had a great halloween and that none of you have succumbed to any flu like illness. Sorry to hear that you are sick too FASC. I hope you don't get it too bad.

I was hoping that my flu wouldn't mutate into some kind of computer/human hybrid virus and get you all. It seems that you are all OK, phew!

I am feeling slightly better and hope to back chatting with you before the week is out.

I miss you all.

Hey K

Poetry? Go for it. I'm here at work being really bored. Sounds like fun.

Anon, who?

Okay, I'm going to think of some poems. Maybe I'll even make up some rhymes; I'm feeling a little OCD and my thoughts are starting to rhyme, actually. O_O

In the river's head and at the Island's crotch,
you are free to search for the Ghetto Biatch!

You got my job through your perversity,
but now you've put me through university!

To those of you who think I am unsafe,
remember this warrior isn't such a waif;

My ISP's out there as is my home town,
but have I ever let such malice get me down?

So don't you worry, guys, please don't fret!
They haven't posted my home address.

Yet.

Ars Poetica

They wanted from us
loud despairs, ear-
splitting syntactical tricks, our guts
hung up to the light, privacy
dusted off and displayed, in ways
elliptical and clever, or
in a froth of spleen—details
of the damages,
musings on divorce,
ashtrays from motels: films shot
on location, life made almost real
by its private dislocations.
This
they said, was the true
grit, the way it is, no lies, the heart
laid open as a pancake griddle to the awful
heat of rage, rage and desire, coiled beneath
and glowing, until even a drop of sweat
or ink, let fall in its vicinity,
would sizzle. And over all, the big I
swollen like a jellyfish, quivering
and venomous. These things were
our imperative: the poet
in his stained T-shirt, all gripes
and belly, and, well, so personable—
my god, so like ourselves!
Oh yes, the women poets too, so
unashamed, ripping off their masks
like nylon stockings.

pomegranates
something for dinner
stuff for lunch
whatever else

That's a typical list for me.

What am I running for? I guess I would be running for Ghetto Biatch. Do I have your vote? I hope so. As Ghetto Biatch I would make many changes to my ghetto. Like there would be less drug busts and more prostitution.

Abuse exists, as does the blindness that accompanies it. The pleading cries in the night followed by the disturbing denial of culpability: "If something bad happened, I didn't see it." As witness to a horrific event, I am forced to question the frequently blurred line between right and wrong to weigh the guilt of one man's act against another's to decide if justice was served or if a grievous injustice has prevailed. And if pressed on the subject of what happened that last night in the orchard, I will speak as truthfully as I can: If something bad happened, I didn't see it.

But anyways, this is what I keep thinking of. I remember four years ago, Kerry was holding out pretty good. I went to bed that Tuesday (early, because I had worked that day,) thinking that it could go either way but it had to be Kerry. It had to be. I mean, we were in such trouble, right? Things had to change.

I absolutely will never forget the next day. I cried all morning. It was such a state of betrayal and fear. The worst part is that as bad as I thought another four years of Bush was going to be, it was actually worse.

That's what I'm afraid of for the next few days.

I want no one to escape, but even after admitting this there is no catharsis, my punishment continues to elude me and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself; no new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.

People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choicest words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech.

Hi, Mayo and Blogville!

I tried to backread some, but I just couldn't keep interested... I read enough to see that it hasn't been very nice lately. Sad...

Well, can't stay...
Mayo, SS, I hope you both are well.
Blogville, I hope the same for you.

Remember to get out and VOTE tomorrow!

...If I happen to come by some lovely white paper for every day use and a good writing brush, or white decorated paper or Michinoku paper, I'm immensely cheered.... And when I unroll a section of fresh green Korai matting, thick and finely woven... I'm overcome with the feeling that life itself is just too wonderful, and I really couldn't bear to relinquish it just yet.

'The simplest trifles console you, don't they,' remarked Her Majesty with a smile....

The others who were present also teased me with such comments as, 'You've certainly come up with an incredibly easy magic formula for averting trouble!'

Anonymous said...

Nothing is more wonderful than sympathy - in a man of course, but also in a woman. It may be only some passing remark, it may not be anything particularly deeply felt, but to hear that someone has said of a sad situation, 'How sad for her,' or, 'I do wonder how she must be feeling', makes you much gladder than hearing it said directly face to face. I always long to let such a person know that I've learned of their sympathetic response.

You don't feel particularly surprised or moved, of course, in the case of someone whom you can rely on to feel for you or visit in such times. But if someone unexpected responds to the tale of your sorrows with reassuring words, it fills you with pleasure. It's such a simple thing to do, yet so rare.

It's unusual to find someone, either man or woman, who is overall both tender-hearted and truly talented--though actually there must be many such people around.

Anonymous said...

Yes, there's nothing more wonderful than to be well-loved, not only by parents ... but by all those you have close dealings with in life.

I particularly despise people who express themselves poorly in writing. How horrible it is to read language that rides roughshod over manners and social convention. It's also very poor to be over-polite with people who should rightly be treated less formally. It's bad enough to receive poorly written letters oneself, and just as disgraceful when they're sent to others.

I'm posting this one comment, and then I'm gone.

First of all, there was nothing I posted yesterday that can't be found elsewhere. No one can find anyone from just a town name and an ISP. As an anon on my blog asked me, are you going to go to every door in the town and find out where someone is? No. What I posted did not have a home address or any possible suburb name that would pinpoint a location. Any personal info of that nature has been posted by other people, including the person in question.

Second of all, Fimble Star, yes, you guessed correctly. The info you have about emails is faulty, though. The receiver and the sender both see whatever name is registered for the email address associated with their blog. Check it out if you like. And I believe the person who originally gave out SDock's personal info...was the Unicorn. At DM. Full name, home address, work address, possibly phone numbers, I don't remember. That was last year, I believe.

If you have something to say to me, Fimble, say it to my face, on my blog, or in an email.

Third, let me refresh everyone's memory of how this all started. I wrote one comment yesterday: "It's not what you say, it's how you say it." I DID NOT say anything TO that person beyond that. The first person to post any comment past that was her, on my blog. You've read it, and you've probably read what I wrote back. She then chose to email me with the same basic idea, after a couple more blog exchanges. I DID NOT say anything to provoke the response I got. There were no accusations of her being part of a conspiracy against me. There were no names called. There was no "finger-pointing". Basically I said that it's not her opinions we have trouble with, but the way she presents them. I am not the only person that's said this. But I got singled out. And then Amy got singled out. (Just in case you forgot, Fimble, L and I, Amy, LoveMan, Alie, Andrea, Mya, possibly the Pope, and yes, even MAYO by you yourself, were all accused of getting her fired.)

I'm well aware of why she and some of her friends don't like me. "Once upon a time" they all treated me and L nicely, we were all friends. Then something happened to make her angry, and L and I were dropped like hot rocks. That was December.

I AM a nice person. I don't do cruel things, I don't intentionally stir up trouble, I don't harass people. Those words have been thrust on me by people who don't know me. But everyone knows that if someone attacks me, I fight back. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt until I know you better, and if you're nice to me, I'm nice to you.

I'm not talking about this anymore. Anons, stop talking about it. Stop talking about US, all of us. If you're a regular, sign in already. If you're not part of this blog, whether as a blue or a long-time anon or a black name, you don't know our situations. Please don't tell us what we need to do. We're pretty good at handling things ourselves.

ergoproxy said...

hi smoke

thing is you have no idea how they'll respond and coming in for the last 4 weeks of the year is probably the worst, esp as they have had teachers come and go, and that aren't actually science qualified.

Anonymous said...

Actually, no, not everyone could find that out; and I had kept my town hidden as well. I asked you to stop talking to and about me. Instead, you posted my ISP and my home town.

Anonymous said...

If you have something to say to me, Fimble, say it to my face, on my blog, or in an email.

Yeah right, then she can post your personal info too!

Anonymous said...

Gotta go with K on this. Releasing her private information and using your stat tracker to reveal that actually is cruel and malicious. I never knew her information until last night and I didn't want to.

Anonymous said...

If you have something to say to me, Fimble, say it to my face, on my blog, or in an email.

You could of told her that on HER blog.

Anonymous said...

Hear hear, 4:26. "Come to my blog and say it." Well, I did. I went there and said, "Stop talking to me." And that's where it went! Fiddle dee dee. What's done is done.

Like I said, party in Riverhead! :)

Anonymous said...

WWhy does it matter if she posts that stuff? Its like youre going around looking for excuses to hate people. You never has a problem telling everybody personal info but now that someone posts your town you have a problem

Anonymous said...

Well, that's cause my ISP and my town were never out there in the public until last night.

Anonymous said...

4:28, I never told anyone my ISP or where I lived. I lied a few times about it when you guys started to get too close with your googling, just to throw you guys off. And no one knew my server or IP numbers.

Anonymous said...

You could of told her that on HER blog.

But it would only get copied and pasted, what is the point

Anonymous said...

Furthermore, 4:28, even if I had given out information about myself and my whereabouts, that would be my decision. Having the decision to have your personal info disclosed on the internet taken away from you is not cool.

Anonymous said...

Yeah well life isnt fair.

Anonymous said...

You've had your say all morning Kapu. Let OP J have hers and leave it alone.

Anonymous said...

This is how it played out in my eyes.

Thats what you risk when you go to a place when you know they are tracking IPs. This is your own fault

Anonymous said...

Umm yeah using stat tracker to post someone's shit is indefensible. Just saying.

Anonymous said...

4:32, and yet, I've got tons and tons of the same info on my blog, and you will never see me releasing that information.

Anonymous said...

WWhy does it matter if she posts that stuff? Its like youre going around looking for excuses to hate people. You never has a problem telling everybody personal info but now that someone posts your town you have a problem

It matters because there was no reason to publish that information on a public forum. What did she hope to achieve?

so what? she did and that was her choice. That is what you can do when oyu have a tracker. You knew she had a tracker and now you are upset because she did that? Your own risk, too bad so sad

Anonymous said...

Well when some anons come on here acting like a bitch or claiming to know a certain rockstar maybe she did, So what?

Anonymous said...

Want to know what I see. People who don't know when to walk away. People who say leave me alone but are incapable of granting others the same courtesy. People who don't know when to back the fuck off.

Anonymous said...

Yes, exactly. We all have choices to make. I made mine and mine was to never use the tracker like that and to trust--ridiculously--that no one else ever would. She made hers. Too bad so sad indeed, but like I said earlier, good things have come from malice int he past for me, especially on this blog!

So I'm still waiting for Joaquin to knock on my door. ^_^

I bet if they called a girl a cunt you would back them and come up with some excuse that does not make sense just because they are your friends but if anyone eelse does it ITS WRONG WOW

Anonymous said...

Yes, if you have no moral compass.

Anonymous said...

They have not been here and they haven't been around in a long time so leave my friend the fuck alone. Second, regarding the email thing. Am I the only one that understands the fact that you have to recieve an email from someone to get their info back? You can click on Sdock's email link all day long but it's only going to take you to compose a new message and populate the address field to show her email. Am I right? I think so.

That was a shitty thing for you to do last night, J. Not only did you post Jules' info but you posted somebody else's info. WITHOUT THEIR FUCKING PERMISSION. Jesus.
