Cereal monogamy

On the front porch
Laughing and crying all at once
She has no idea the vodka belongs on the shelf
Orange juice beside the milk

It is the same front porch
That whispered baseball calls
To my bedroom window
As I peered down enticed

In time, now stumbling forward
Often infused by the same mixture
I recall her laughter was not quite right
And mine often sounds the same

From the front porch I forgive
As any good lesson I read
And now in her face reflected
The moment that I returned

p.s. in the never-ending battle to match wits.

The money that has been spent on this war is a travesty....but the loss of life is a complete tragedy.

They were so consumed with the thought that we Could take this country...they never stopped to think whether or not we should.

Most of the death happened after the war was won.

If this were a football game...I would call it bad coaching.

What was the plan here?

What is the perceived win...Do we convert all of the Muslims to Catholicism.

Is that when we march home in victory!

Nothing like babysitting Kittens!

I was babysitting one night for a family that had a baby, a toddler, and 6 kittens.

The baby, and the toddler were out cold by 8:30. The kittens finally curled up for bed around 1am. I woke up on the couch with them snuggled right into me.

I love kittens! ♥

Government has little to do with oil prices.

The Oil industry...just like Wall street I may add is simply unchecked greed.

Republicans want less government involvement...well guess what this is what you get when you leave important things like Health care and the nations Fiscal health run unchecked.

Ironic isn't it.

BTW..have a heart attack and try sending the hospital 25.00 a week till its paid up...chances are you'll be dead long before your debt even has a dent in it.

Joe Blow from down the road cannot walk in and walk out with a 750,000 house in the Hamptons on a salary from McDonalds.

America could learn alot from Canada, Amyranth. Here, so many people want to blame everything on government They refuse to take any personal responsibility. They do get that 750,000 house on that 30,500 yearly salary. Then they can't pay the mortgage. The bank forecloses. Joe Blow is now homeless and loses his McDonalds job. The bank loses money so it raises interest rates. More people can't pay the mortgage. Banks and mortgage companies fold. More people are homeless and without health insurance. Everyone blames the government. Nobody but George Washington is responsible. He held a gun to all their heads and made them make all their bad decisions. It's the American way. Blame everyone and anyone but yourself.

I don't know about that. In my opinion I think Bush just sticks his nose in where it doesn't belong. Just because we're the most powerful nation , it doesn't mean that you have the right to interfere with another country's problems, but I'm guessing he doesn't give a damn if he violates another country.

And if you have paid attention to the news, it seems we're losing our rights in privacy because the governent is considering adding wiretaps to private citizens' phone lines, without requiring a supoena or search warrant, all in the name of "national security."

I think private school tuition should be tax deductable. Parents are forced to send their children to private schools if they want their kids to have a decent education. That's what it comes down to in most places.

Yes, 11:43, a valid point. My college roommate is now a teacher in a poverty stricken area. The things she has to deal with are a little out there. I agree 11:40. We need to provide more of our own oil until alternative energy is readily available. We have the oil. We just don't want to get it. We need less taxes. There is something wrong with the public school education system. It's not the students' fault. It's the system that is broken. That is why I think parents should have the option of sending their children to private schools. Either through school voucher programs or making tuition tax deductable.

Carrie said...

11:52, I'm not sure. I don't so much buy into conspiracy theories about that day, I will say that much. It just seemed like the other World Wars (and I know this isn't a World one) seemed to have a little more purpose. But, I didn't live in that era, so maybe that seemed like madness too.

I agree 11:40. We need to provide more of our own oil until alternative energy is readily available. We have the oil. We just don't want to get it.

That oil wouldn't even make a drop compared to what oil producing countries make. Theirs about 100-200million barrels of oils. Ours 10 million.

We need less taxes. We need a better education and health care system.

You can't lower taxes and expect to still be able to pay for better education. The government will have to cut services and they usually start with education and health car.

We need to instill more sense of personal responsibility and less sense of entitlement in our children.

That is not the governments job. That is the parents job.

11:54,

Like what the other anon said, I think we need to look for alternative fuels. I don't think oil is going to last us forever.

Too many corporations are getting greedy from it. A few of them have reported over $400 million in profits, and I don't believe that is fair to the people who have to pay over $4 a gallon just so they can get to school or work, etc.

I think the government's solution for the oil crisis is to keep digging for more oil. I think it's a bit complicated than that.

11:58,

I think we went to war in order to search for Bin Laden, but my facts are a bit fuzzy. Seven years and billions of dollars later, we still haven't found the bastard. I honestly believe we have no purpose in being in Iraq as of now. I think we lost it a long time ago.

You do know that in some stated they allow alternative schools to apply for those vouchers. School that teach witchcraft. (I don't think there is anything wrong that.) But that is what happens when you use vouchers.

But the biggest problem with these thing it takes money away from public school. Leaving less choices for parents and children alike.
