Good tidings.

Hammer
and hammer again
Louder
and louder still
Listen
and listen again
until you have heard everything that I have to say
And so I stay

and what I found
while at your side
was the moon all along
smooth calcified cockles
and a tangled mass of slime
a child’s bucket bobbing out to sea
Some of it stays
some of it goes

p.s. would I?

(Such a peculiar word, isn't it?)

Good tidings to you, Mayo! How are you?

Anon616 said...

O_O WOW! That is the first time I've ever been your first comment. I'm feeling quite special now!

Beautiful post. Thank you, Mayo!

Anon616 said...

Well, it would appear that I am all alone in this lovely new room. I think I shall stroll on out to the garden gazebo and chatter with the squirrels.

Have a good day, Mayo. I hope you are feeling special too!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy

PS: I don't think it's a peculiar word.

Hi Mayo,

How are you?

sdock10 said...

Mayo was super duper sneaky and surprised us, right?

Boo, Mayo! Right back at ya!

toujours said...

oh! so good to have new words from you, mayo! so very good.

Smoke said...

He totally was. :)

Didn't jump this time though. Bwah!

Smoke said...

Huh.

Hope you are doing okay, dude.

sdock10 said...

Would you what?

Stay or go?

toujours said...

would you what, mayo?

and i'm such a ridiculous person, that poetry from you makes me feel a bit better.

feel free to point and laugh.

so sdock, how's your saturday, so far?

Smoke said...

Okay, and I may be totally stupid but what word is peculiar?

***Meanwhile, Mayo is sitting back slapping his forehead like, "OMG, Just stop it, Smoke."***

^_^

sdock10 said...

Hi TJ,

It's wet, wet, wet. The soaking kind, you know. The kind that's bound to wash away something or blow in something new.

Not sure which.

How's yours?

sdock10 said...

I'm guessing, cockles, Smoke.

COCKLES! Heee.

It's nice how you did the lines moving in and out like the tide. Sweet!

Whaddup Mayo, howzit?

Hey guys! I just got back from shopping. I bought some nice flowers and apparently I am way overdoing this "party" when it's probably going to be only about five people.

Hmmph.

Anonymous said...

"About that special feeling we get in the cockles of our hearts. Maybe below the cockles. Maybe in the sub-cockle area."

Smoke said...

AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Gotcha.

I'm like duh.

Anonymous said...

Oh Mayo, why'd you have to say "cockles" and get my started. You knew that some of us would snicker like twelve year old brats.

sdock10 said...

TJ, I wish I could send you some of our rain. Fay followed us from Orlando, it seems.

But you're right, it's always nice to read new words from Mayo.

Anonymous said...

How should I your true love know, from another one?

By his cockle-hat and staff and his sandle-shoon.

Smoke said...

Good luck with the party, K!

I gotta go visit in-laws today! WAHAHAHA! I don't wanna! >_<

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Princess! I need it. I suck at this! Hope you have a reasonably good day.

TJ, you said "bone."

Mayo, you said "cockle."

sdock10 said...

Jules,

Your party is going to fabulous. I just know it. I am pink bubbling your party, just so you know.

*snickers*

oh man. you made me snicker.

sdock, i would so gladly take the remnants of fay off your hands.

Smoke said...

Damn. Now I have Axl singing Dust & Bones but I'm changing it to Cockles & Bones.

sdock10 said...

Didn't Izzy sing that song, Smoke?

Smoke said...

Oh shit! Let me just shut up.

Alright, see you guys later.

Bye Mayo.

elena said...

Good to see new words, Mayo.

Actually I saw them while driving but waited until I got home to comment.

Yeah, I learned my lesson about trying to drive and comment at the same time.

sdock10 said...

Bye, Smoke.

toujours said...

well, my stomach is cursing like a sailor, so i suppose i should feed it something more substantial than coffee.

i'm glad i dilly-dallied today, glad to have new words from mayo to tuck in my pocket.

talk to you guys later. sdock, smoke -- stay dry if you want, or run out and get soaking wet! kapunua, have a great party.

mayo, i was thinking this morning about what the end of this place would be like, and came to the conclusion that most likely i will be sitting here still, long after any reasonable hope of a new post is gone, waiting, listening.

that's just the way it's going to be.

but i'm glad you still have more to say.

bye blogbelieve, have a good rest of the day.

bye, mayo. thank you.

Yourself the Sun
by Arthur Gorges

Yourself the sun, and I the melting frost,
Myself the flax and you the kindly fire,
Yourself the maze wherein my self is lost,
I your disdain, yet you my heart's desire,
Your love the port whereto my fancies sail,
My hope the ship whose helm your fair hand guides,
Your grace the wind that must my course avail
My faith the flood, your frowns the ebbing tides,
Yourself the spring and I the toiling bee.
My thoughts in you, though yours elsewhere, do rest.
You are the brook and I the deer embossed
My heaven is you, yet you torment my ghost.

sdock10 said...

Bye, TJ.

hello mayo. Thank you for the new words. Very lovely. Hello everyone. Just a quickie as i am on the bloke's phone as i am staying at my cousin in laws. Mayo i totally read cockless! Seriously! Hey i climbed glastonbury tor this afternoon. I have done it before but that was a while back. Was cool though and some one was having a pagan wedding or something like that at the top. Anyway gotta go. Thanks again mayo for the new post. Hello to SS if you are around. Love to you all!

sdock10 said...

Mayo,

Thanks for the new words. You have put so many words, flashes, ideas, and images in my head. Lots to swallow and digest.

I hope you are having a nice Saturday.

2:11, that's good of you to clarify that for 9:42. it can be difficult to know when to read between the lines and when not -- it is poetry, after all. that's the nature of the beast, isn't it? (no wonder mayo's so good at it, with his cryptic superpowers. *grin*)

ok, i'm gone. really.

Oooh, a new post!

Hallo Mayo and Lovelies!

p.s. would I?

Cuntface.

Amyranth said...

Ooops, better explain that.

When my Dad met my Mother, he told her a joke, and it went like this:

"This guy has a wooden eye, and he is really self-conscious about it. His friend hates seeing him so down and he invites him out for the night to a bar. At first, the guy balks at the idea, but with some persuasion, and the explanation that it will be too dark to notice his eye, he finally agrees.
So, at the bar that night, he's still playing the part of the wallflower when he notices a girl with a cleft palate checking him out. He thinks to himself" You know, beggers can't be choosers and she's actually pretty." So he finally gets the nerve up to go ask her to dance.
"Would, uh... Would, uh... Would you like to dance?"

Well, she's SO excited that she yells "WOULD I?"

And he yells back "CUNTFACE!".

Okay, so anyway, tasteless jokes aside.

Dad picks Mom up from work. They grabbed lunch at McDonalds and went back to my Grandmother's house. Mom is sitting on the floor watching TV when Dad comes over, gets down on one knee with the ring and says:
"Would, uh... Would... uh... Would you..."

And she yells "WOULD I?!?!"

And Dad yells, "CUNTFACE!!"

Well, I think I will head to the kitchen and make some coffee. If anyone wants some, I will put a box of cookies and some biscotti out on the counter, and I'll make a full pot and leave it on for awhile.

Be warned however, my coffee is VERY strong. The kind that does not slowly wake you up in the morning, oh, no.

I make the kind that stands up on it's own and SLAPS you awake.

Mayo, if you need to be slapped awake, come on down to the kitchen. There will be a cup waiting for you.

See you later guys,

Hallo BC!

I went to the bookstore today and read a scene out of Breaking Dawn, specifically the birth scene, to see if it was bad as it was made out to be.

Aiyiyi.

O_O

resurrected wreck said...

Why did you do a thing like that for, A??

Anonymous said...

It was that bad, huh Amy?

My opinion on it? Completely unrealistic, especially Bella's behavior when she was carrying that thing. No female would react to that similar reaction like she did.

That's one of the plots in the book that I didn't like.

There's already some anti-Breaking Dawn communities, from what I head.

Amyranth said...

Mayo,

Some of it stays, some of it goes

But it all comes back around in the end, right? Full circle. Whether it be a grain of sand or a bucket full of what you think is shitty advice, you can let it wash away. Walk away. Think that you will never see it again, and boom there it is!

Hits you right between the eyes! And let me tell you, beach sand feels like a fucking 2x4 when it gets in your eye.

What?

Guess what I'm trying to say is this....who decides what stays and what goes? You think you do, but you don't. And does it ever really go anywhere? No, I don't think it does. Sure, it floats around out there for a little while, but it never really disappears.

It just keeps reinventing, recreating itself. Coming back in a completely different way.

Just like us, Mayo.

A lightning strike or a light bulb moment. A remember when and an I told you so. Regret and rejoice.

The bad thing is that you can't always get it back when you want it or how you left it.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. I know it would spit me right back out.

Well if I could I would declare today a “do over”. You know it was one of those days where you start to get that sinking feeling early on that everything you do is gonna turn to shit. Sometimes I hate it when I’m right.

So I’m just gonna chalk it up to ‘one of those days’ and start over tomorrow. Yep, a nice clean start tomorrow. That’s what I need. Here’s hoping it works.

It was nice to see you post today. Okay, that’s about all I can say was good today. I think I understand the emotion behind your words. Then again I could be totally wrong. It was that kind of day, you understand. But the line “child’s bucket bobbing out to sea”….oh holy crap Mayo, it really hit me hard. Maybe you understand why. Yeah, I think you probably do. Take care, please.

I had to made a decision tonight concerning my arts school, and I decided that I'm not going to attend. So I'm gonna just finish my criminal justice degree instead and get a second job.

Even with financial aid, I won't have enough to pay for the whole thing, so I'm gonna send an email to the college and let them know

The Double moon, one on the high back drop of the west, one on the curve of the river face,
The sky moon of fire and the river moon of water, I am taking these home in a basket, hung on an elbow, such a teeny weeny elbow, in my head.
I saw them last night, a cradle moon, two horns of a moon, such an early hopeful moon, such a child’s moon for all young hearts to make a picture of.
The river—I remember this like a picture—the river was the upper twist of a written question mark.
I know now it takes many many years to write a river, a twist of water asking a question.
And white stars moved when the moon moved, and one red star kept burning, and the Big Dipper was almost overhead.

Hi RW *squeeze*

There's that, but then there's the apartment thing, and I don't even have enought financial aid to cover for that. They only gave me a little, but that's if I go full time, so I talked to my family earlier and said just forget it.

I'll owe over $80,000 if I go :(

do you have to pay for uni and such up front? we have a scheme where you can either pay while you study or pay back the fees after you finish, they take it out of your pay when you get work.
It's like paying back a loan but there is no interest added.
I went through when it was all free, except for a couple of hundred in admin and student union fees, but I lived at home and commuted too

O_o

Wow, that's a lot! I owe about half that and I thought that was an outrageous amount!

TJ, I'm afraid so, but it's mostly due to costs. That's why I'm not going.

But, I don't know. I don't want to be stuck here with just a job.

Wow, what a great idea, EP!

We don't have anything like that here, so I expect the USA doesn't either. Pity :/ Makes it so that a higher education is only available to the rich & those prepared to accumulate an outrageous debt.

I would hate to see anyone forced to give up on their dreams because of an insignificant thing like money. But I totally understand your predicament.

Hi TJ and EP, by the way :)

And hi, DA, if you're still around :)

Ergo, nope. I have some student loans that I can pay after college, but I have one where I have to make payments during school, and it's given by the federal government, but I'm way short. The yearly cost of attendance is over $37,000

And I'm not even close to paying that off. And I live far from the school, so I can't even commute from home.

RW, it is! It's forcing me to have second thoughts. I have until monday to decide for sure so we'll see.

How is everyone else doing?

Good gods!! 0_0 Are you sure they didn't add an extra zero to that total by mistake??

resurrected wreck said...

Annual tuition for medical school is less that that. That total can't be right!

hi :)

ours is called the Higher Education Scheme
the repayments only kick in after you are on a certain level wage also, so if you don't get a good job straight away it stays in stasis, it's a bit hard starting life with a debt but it's aimed to stay manageable for an average person.

resurrected wreck said...

You applied for art school, yes?

I could contact the school before you make up your mind about whether or not to attend, because I have a feeling some wrong information was given somewhere about the cost of tuition.

Thanks RW :)

P.S. I really do hate giving up on my dreams. I don't want to give up on this

hi resurrected wreck. :)

bc, i just hate to see you have to decide against it -- you're so excited for it. but i can understand the whole cost, and sympathize. i had a huge debt, too. even with consolidation, it took a long time to pay off.

i just hope it will work out for you, anyway.

That's such a civilized scheme, EP. I wish we did that here. We only have 6 months after graduation to start repaying student loans. If we can't afford it then, we can get Interest Relief, which means that we get an extra 6 months grace period before repayment starts, but that also means that in the long run we will be paying back more as it will take that extra time (plus interest) to get it all paid off.

I've been paying off student loans for 10 years.

my degree would have been 20,500 per year, was that including accommodation BC?
