What?...exactly.

Way down at the center of the Earth, the core as it is called, the pull is intense. The rest of it, what I see every day, endlessly revolves, but down there it is all held in tight. I want to be that close, leave the cycle, become random. I am a part of the pattern and I know that is why I feel this way. So much of it is polluted.

There is the challenge.

I tried to dig it up once. I wanted to know if it would pull my soul out and then would it also find a place in rotation? Follow me around batting at the back of my head? But, my palms blistered before I made it. I would like to say I did not give up, but I did.

Yesterday, I read in the news that someone had finally reached it. Once they arrived, they made legal claim of the core of the Earth. Stuck a flag in it and gave it a proper name, in a proper way...I hate proper. So, now I want it even more. The rest of it can float off for all I care.

Well, not all of it.

I will try again. This time, a bigger shovel and a pair of gloves might do the trick, save my hands. I will not quit; it is worthy work. When I get there, I will release it. I no longer wish to be a part of its rotation. Instead, I wish for the whole of it to become the rest of it.

p.s. each day the same way and then look at it again if its there, focus.

Pick Up Lines

Will you play army men with me.. so I can blow the hell out of you !

Your daddy must have been a baker, 'cause you've got a nice set of buns.

Is it cold in here, or are you just happy to see me.

Do you sleep on your stomach? No. Can I?

Wow! Are those real?

There must be a keg in your pants, cuz I want to tap that ass.

I want to melt in your mouth, not in your hand.

Excuse me, miss, do you give head to strangers? No. Well, then, allow me to introduce myself.

True, there are a lot of fish in the sea, but you're the only one I'd like to catch and mount back at my place.

Why do I have a pierced tongue? You'll soon find out.

Hey baby, will you be my love buffet so I can lay you on the table and take what I want?

How about you sit on my lap and we'll see what pops up?

I'd like to kiss you passionately on the lips, then move up to your belly button.

You must work at Subway, 'cause you just gave me a footlong

Here ya go, button-pushing anon. A joke for you.

A Choctaw guy went to Chinatown in San Francisco. While there he found a bronze rat at a thrift store. "How much do you want for the rat?" he asked.

"$3 for the rat and $1000 for the story that goes with it" said the shopkeeper.

Just give me the rat," the Choctaw said, and then he left with it.

As he walked down the street he noticed a couple of rats following him. As he walked further, more and more rats started chasing him. By the time he got to the bay, there were thousands of rats chasing him. So he climbed up a pole and threw the bronze rat into the water.

To his amazement, all the rats jumped into the water.

The Choctaw then returned to the thrift store. "Ahh" the shopkeeper said. "Now you would like to hear the story?"

"No" said the Choctaw, "I just came back to see if you had any bronze white men."

20 questions with little johnny

One day in school, the teacher decides to play 20 questions.

So the teacher says "OK kids, I am thinking of something round, and red"

Little Suzy pipes up "I know, it's a tomato".

"No but you're thinking, it's an apple" replies the teacher.

So Little Johnny stands up, places his hand in his pocket and says "I am holding onto something that is round, hard, and has a head on it"

"Go to the principals office" says the teacher.

"No but you're thinking", say Johnny, "It's a quarter"

Mayo,

*sigh*

How did your day go? Did you do all that you wanted? None of what you wanted? Some of what you wanted or just plain nothing? Either way, I hope you got at least some satisfaction out of Sinday(credit to Ergo), I mean Sunday. SUNday was damn sure right on the mark here. What did I do? Hmmmm, I sweated a lot. Nah, I wasn't doing anything like that. It's so hot here that you sweat when you are sitting still. Uh huh, I kid you not. Gross really, but that's summertime in the south. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Which is completely silly to say because it's not like I have a choice, like I can control the weather. Ooooh, I have never tried. What if I could? It would still be hot. Just sayin...

Mayo, it's almost officialy summertime. Only like what? 2 weeks away or less? Got any big vacation plans? The gas prices got ya in a money crunch? Is there anywhere in the world you'd like to visit? Me? Well, I like being home. I'm a creature of habit and that both scares me and comforts me. I guess it's because I have never really been anywhere that maybe I can't think of somewhere else I would rather be. I am going to take a week off work soon. If I don't do anything, but nothing that will be okay. We all deserve a break, dude. I seriously hope you let yourself have one.

Because....I am slowly, but surely learning that if you don't remember to take care of yourself and by that, I mean your inner self, your soul, your mind, your heart, then who will?

Oh yeah, I know who! It's that person, I keep searching for to do it for me.

I wonder if I will find them while I am on vacation.

Say what? Yeah, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. Just can't help it.

Where do we go from here, right where we're at, all of us?

Why weren't we born equipped with detailed maps, magnifying glasses, flashlights, and an 'X marks the spot' location?

Thought about maybe calling in sick on the world tomorrow. Stay in bed.

Keep still enough and you may feel the Earth do its pirouette.

"It's a shame that the days that are glorified are the ones I just wish would fade."

Isn't that the way it always is? Big scale -- victorious wars. Small scale -- wars inside my head. To be okay with being okay. To let it go, to realize, to question, to not.

I hope no one ever pulls the plug. Years and years gone in a flash. Countless nights of shaky hands, bloodshot eyes, nervous laughter, salty cheeks -- forgotten forever and no one will ever look back.

Save for two of us.

Night, dude.

SS,
What are you doing, dude?! Taking dance lessons? Muwhahaha. Made me laugh so hard.

You know how kids always want to have a Rubix cube? And you're the shit if you can get all the blocks back where they should be without pulling the stickers off (I'm so guilty)?

Yeah, I was never the shit. :)

World's Shortest Fairy Tale
for men

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl, "Will you marry me?"

The girl said, "NO!"

And the guy lived happily ever after and went fishing, played poker with the guys whenever he wanted, played golf a lot, had a different girl every week, drank beer and farted whenever he wanted to.

The end.

She Walks In Beauty by Lord Byron

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Hand in mine, into your icy blues
And then I'd say to you we could take to the highway
With this trunk of ammunition too
I'd end my days with you in a hail of bullets

I'm trying, I'm trying
To let you know just how much you mean to me
And after all the things we put each other through and

I would drive on to the end with you
A liquor store or two keeps the gas tank full
And I feel like there's nothing left to do
But prove myself to you and we'll keep it running

But this time, I mean it
I'll let you know just how much you mean to me
As snow falls on desert sky
Until the end of everything
I'm trying, I'm trying
To let you know how much you mean
As days fade, and nights grow
And we go cold

Until the end, until this pool of blood
Until this, I mean this, I mean this
Until the end of...

I'm trying, I'm trying
To let you know how much you mean
As days fade, and nights grow
And we go cold

But this time, we'll show them
We'll show them all how much we mean
As snow falls on desert sky
Until the end of every...

All we are, all we are
Is bullets I mean this
All we are, all we are
Is bullets I mean this
All we are, all we are
Is bullets I mean this
All we are, all we are
Is bullets I mean this

As lead rains, we'll pass on through our phantoms
Forever, forever
Like scarecrows that fuel this flame we're burning
Forever, and ever
Know how much I want to show you you're the only one
Like a bed of roses there's a dozen reasons in this gun

And as we're falling down, and in this pool of blood
And as we're touching hands, and as we're falling down
And in this pool of blood, and as we're falling down
I'll see your eyes, and in this pool of blood
I'll meet your eyes, I mean this forever

hello TJ

I am currently trying to google some images to decide upon a colour scheme for our house, we are rebuilding our front veranda and thinking of re cladding the house with corrugated iron, and apparently "walling" is a word!

I learned that sloths in the wild only sleep nine hours a day!

I used to cross stitch all the time.

I know how to edit a movie.

But I want you guys to enlighten me! I am so friggin' ignorant about everything.

That's incredible. I always love looking at the different patterns people crochet dishrags into.

I bow to your ability to redecorate your home, Ergo.

Wikipedia is either an angel from above in web form or a demon that eats time. Maybe both.

The FBI would be intense.

any suggestions?

our home is single story but on stumps surrounded by pasture, currently has a "classic cream" roof and I was thinking maybe woodland grey, plantation or blue ridge

A sapphire and a ruby are the exact same stone.

A sapphire is a blue ruby, and a ruby is a red sapphire.

Because they were found in two different countries, they ended up with different names, but the composition of the stones are exactly the same.

Also, Sapphires, Topaz, Quartz and Diamonds are the only four stones that come in every color of the rainbow.

I agree with the anons saying there is always much to learn, finding out about things you may not have experienced before is always interesting, even if you decide it isn't something you will like long term

and I think I like blue ridge too, then again perhaps a lighter colour would be good, I like ironstone but I think it'd be too dark

Anonymous said...

Ergo, anything but the salmony color, my house is that and I hate hate hate it. I want blue.

Ergo, Blue Ridge. Plantation might work too.

Amyranth,

I too recently found out that the same stone came in multiple colors.

It makes me wonder how they then can tell it's the same sort of stone.

Way it 'grows', perhaps....

Wikipedia can be good, but it sucks how editing the information posted there can be super easy that anyone could do it :/

It probably is anon 12:00 but it's really interesting to read up on how it got started, especially on so many crimes they get involved with; white-collar, racketeering, organized crime, fraud, etc etc

I was considering interning there too.

amy out west of us is a huge area known for it's sapphires, I fossicked a green sapphire which I had cut and set in a ring, they tend not to get red sapphires there but have beautiful garnets (which I have a deep blood red one of)
they also get parti sapphires which are multicoloured, I found some small ones, no good to cut though.
It is so much fun.
Sapphire is also the second hardest stone, and you should never ever store emerald jewellery loose with other stones as it will get scratched, it being one of the softest

Ignorant anon, I would recommend you subscribe to Martha Stewart Living. You learn so much from it, if domestically inclined, or you just love being surrounded by nice things.

Anonymous said...

Anon, I find Angel's poems to be quite beautiful and descriptive, what can I say.

Ignorant anon, it's much easier to keep the house clean than to decorate it, isn't it? ^_^

Amyranth said...

Way it 'grows', perhaps....

Exactly that. The structure of the stone itself has one thing that changes like replacing a small part of your DNA, and that's what changes the color.

Black Diamonds have a high carbon factor in them. Red Diamonds have a single hydrogen molecule trapped inside that changes the color.

Ergo, I've got a green sapphire as well! I love it more than my real birthstone.

Anon, some stones can change color by heat, but not all. You can't really heat stones like Opal, but you can heat stones like Sapphire. Heating really only intensifies the present color though, it can't change it completely.

Also, please keep any Opal stones hydrated in water when you don't wear them. Opal is actually a Silicate, and once it dries out, it's beyond repair. One firm tap and that pretty little stone will shatter and be gone forever.

Amy, what's your birthstone?

ergoproxy said...

Oh something I found out a couple of weeks ago

the expression "Balls to the wall":

came from dog-fighting pilots in the war as the throttle was a stick with a rubber ball as a hand grip so to go as fast as you can due to danger was to push them as far forwards as possible - hence "Balls to the wall"

I always wondered as I would think anatomically it would be a very awkward position for anything

and thanks for all the suggestions, I'll let you know :)

Amyranth,

Thank you so much.

I love opals. Of course, I don't own any because they're so expensive but if I ever do, I now know how to keep them happy and healthy.

That's a good idea. I'll see if my next paycheck has enough for me to afford a subscription to Martha Stewart.
