What?...exactly.

Way down at the center of the Earth, the core as it is called, the pull is intense. The rest of it, what I see every day, endlessly revolves, but down there it is all held in tight. I want to be that close, leave the cycle, become random. I am a part of the pattern and I know that is why I feel this way. So much of it is polluted.

There is the challenge.

I tried to dig it up once. I wanted to know if it would pull my soul out and then would it also find a place in rotation? Follow me around batting at the back of my head? But, my palms blistered before I made it. I would like to say I did not give up, but I did.

Yesterday, I read in the news that someone had finally reached it. Once they arrived, they made legal claim of the core of the Earth. Stuck a flag in it and gave it a proper name, in a proper way...I hate proper. So, now I want it even more. The rest of it can float off for all I care.

Well, not all of it.

I will try again. This time, a bigger shovel and a pair of gloves might do the trick, save my hands. I will not quit; it is worthy work. When I get there, I will release it. I no longer wish to be a part of its rotation. Instead, I wish for the whole of it to become the rest of it.

p.s. each day the same way and then look at it again if its there, focus.

hello again RW
Hi anon miranth adn wendy
*smoooooooooch*

wow adopting a wolf what a cool idea

RW and anon the moon on water is just beautiful. I love camping by the creek and sitting with a low fire and just looking at the reflections and the stars
and it's such a shame so many people never stop to really notice.
I always look in rock pools and at the things around rather than striding to the end, sure it takes longer but life isn't a race.

Hullo, EP :D

if I get $5000 I'll get you to show it to me :)

Have a good night, A :)

miranth said...

Hi Wendy - I had a good day. The children were very sweet. :) Did you have fun with your nephew?

RW - I agree about the beauty of the reflection of the moon on the water. One of my favorite things to do is go with a few friends, in a very small boat, out on Lake St Clair at night. The expanse of the lake feels endless in the darkness. I feel very small there and meditative. Its very peaceful, with only the glints of moonlight disturbing the stillness...

goodnight amy I didn't get to talk tonight but sweet dreams

wendy I double titored today - how skilled am I!

Anon616 said...

Miranth: Yes, my nephew and I did have a very nice day. Thanks for asking!

He went home tonight but he did inform me that he will be back next Saturday! At least I have the week to recover ;)

RW: How do you feel about pink sunsets? I love pink sunsets!

ergoproxy said...

miranth not yet, luckily it's not urgent, we'll think on it a while

resurrected wreck said...

That's gorgeous, Anon 616!

Anon616 said...

:(

Goodnight Amy! Sweet dreams to you and Lear! Hopefully, we'll get to talk more soon.

resurrected wreck said...

Red skies at night, Anon 616? ^_^

Actually, the sunsets are really beautiful in Saskatchewan. All sorts of colours. That's something I noticed when I was out visiting my parents. That, and they are on the migration route for Canada geese. There were thousands of them flying in formation.

miranth said...

ergo - Yes, that's a difficult decision as you have to live wih it for a while! Is the roof to remain cream?

Thank you Wendy - I enjoyed the harvest moon pic :) I am glad you have time to recover, as your nephew seems to have a lot of energy!

resurrected wreck said...

How old is your nephew, Anon 616?

*wishes her nephew lived closer*

resurrected wreck said...

So, I've been thinking of getting my nephew a children's musical instrument. Bongo drum & ukulele have crossed my mind, but I'm open to any suggestions.

He's 2. Is that too young, do you think?

miranth said...

RW - Did you further explore the idea of costume design for Mardi Gras, or for carnivale in Venice?

resurrected wreck said...

Off and on. I'm thinking a Victorian gown in blue silk.

miranth said...

RW - He would prob. enjoy the drum a lot, but his parents might not ;)

resurrected wreck said...

Oh. As a job, you mean? I thought you meant as a costume to wear there.

Nope, not really. I hear it's very expensive to live in Venice :S

resurrected wreck said...

Oh, his parents would get used to it.

*thinks it's payback time for the sister*

Anon616 said...

I'm glad ya'll liked the Harvest Moon photo!

I think red skies are beautiful as well!

RW: My nephew is 9. He had to go back home last night because he has an early Tai Kwon Do class tomorrow/today. He just earned his junior brown belt last week.

Miranth: How's your niece feeling?

miranth said...

You're right, RW, it prob. is very expensive :/ Even if you had a job lined up beforehand.

But yes, I was asking as a job, but the blue silk idea sounds beautiful!

I wonder how well the new orleans economy has recovered since Katrina? Maybe Wendy knows?

resurrected wreck said...

Would you say bongo drums, or a hand-held drum?

resurrected wreck said...

I'm still going to look into the Venice thing, Miranth. But it's more a long-term goal.

Anon616 said...

This photo has red skies and the moon reflecting on water.

Red Skies At Night

*sigh*

resurrected wreck said...

Ohhhh! That's LOVELY! Is that near where you live?

miranth said...

RW - Payback time, I agree! :D And your nephew would love it, I am sure.

Wendy - She is still very tired/weak feeling, but school ends this week, so she'll go to the hospital next week. We'll do some labs at the end of this week, so they have a clearer idea how to treat her, which I hope does the trick, to clear her infection(s)

I am taking her to the library to stock up, so she should be ok. When she's reading, she notices nothing. Even her name being called, hell, especially her name being called! So she should be ok ;)

Thanks for asking!

resurrected wreck said...

Or maybe a tambourine??

Anon616 said...

Miranth:
Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, The Sugar Bowl and other events do bring in a lot of tourist/tax dollars; but, so many small businesses are still struggling. Some area's still have not rebuilt since the hurricane.

The politicians here are more concerned with fattening their own pocketbooks than they are about people struggling to rebuild their businesses, homes and lives....

Our new Governor, Bobby Jindal IS trying his best to deal with corruption in New Orleans! It's about time someone did!

resurrected wreck said...

The tambourine or hand-held drum would be more portable than the bongo drum...

*is off in percussion land*

resurrected wreck said...

Corruption's been a problem there for a while, yes?

It's such a shame, as New Orleans is, even with it's problems, such a great city.

miranth said...

RW - Bongo drums would prob. be steadier for him (if they are what I am thinking), but he could carry around a small hand held one, though it would prob. be more difficult for him to use (with one hand holding it) while standing. The one that allows him to be the most independent is best! Little ones like to feel the 'I can do it by myself' pride! ;)

Venice is a good idea at least to try, if you are prepared, so it does make more sense as a long term goal, but I would be itching to go tomorrow!! :D But that would not be prudent, I know!

Anon616 said...

No, that's not anywhere near where I live, RW! I'll have to take some Moon over the Mississippi or Moon over Lake Ponchatrain photos for you.....as soon as I get another camera! ;)

Miranth: I think it's wonderful that she is able to get so lost in literature!

I'm sorry to hear she is still feeling weak and still has the infection. I hope they can figure out a treatment for her. One that won't wear her down too much....

resurrected wreck said...

The hand-held one is small (tambourine-sized) and comes with an attached handle. I think he'd like one that he could carry around and terrorize the neighbourhood with.

ergoproxy said...

sorry dinner time

I must go,I've been cooking, roast pork chips and gravy though hubby is adamantly making veges I just don't feel like it

yes miranth the roof is staying cream.

My brother keeps threatening to buy my daughter a drum kit, though i just remind him his son is getting older and i can payback!

WEndy congrats to your nephew
miranth hope your neice has some help from teh medication

RW blue silk sounds gorgeous

see you all later ♥

resurrected wreck said...

These are the bongos.

resurrected wreck said...

This is the hand-held drum.

miranth said...

A tambourine sounds great, RW!

Wow Wendy! I am glad you now have a politician who is working for the good of the community. If small businesses can't flourish there, its hard to build the economy back up, especially as it must have been decimated by the disaster... And to think greedy people went in to profit after all that happened... :(

Our mayor in Detroit is corrupt, too. I don't know if you've heard all of the scandals... but then again he did bring some national spotlight to the city (and business, too) when he could.

resurrected wreck said...

Bye for now, EP :)

Anon616 said...

A large part of New Orleans' history is corruption, RW. It's sad; but, it is true!

The DA's office in NOLA has a revolving door policy for criminals. A few weeks ago charges were dropped against a guy for murder -- for the THIRD time; because witnesses are too afraid to come forward. The last DA would pretty much plea bargain every drug and murder case that came along. Murderers were released after serving 5 years in prison. Yep, on the streets free to kill again. And, they did.

YIKES.....I hope I'm not scaring MYA! Don't forget, I will be there to protoct you Mya! I know my way around ;)

miranth said...

I am going to write my note for the evening, then finish some chores, so I'll check back later!

Bye ergo - the lighter blue would go well with the cream from the swatches I looked at. :) I hope that helps!

RW - By those pics, the hand held drum looks more fun, but he might have trouble hitting it towards the middle at first. The tambourine would be fun from the get go...

resurrected wreck said...

Is Mya going to New Orleans?

resurrected wreck said...

Hmm... good point, Miranth. I'm just wondering if the tambourine might be a little too noisy.

Anyway, I'm going to leave that question up there (bongos vs. hand-held drum vs tambourine as a gift for a child) to collect more opinions.

And now, to head to bed. Have a lovely evening, everyone :)

miranth said...

Oh, hell, Wendy! That is the worst thing they could do! Violent criminals are hard to rehabilitate, too... The community must be terrified. I can't even imagine and I am from detroit!

==========
Ooops, on a happier note,

I forgot to tell you that my niece read the note about her in my mail and said "awwwww, that's so sweet!" So just passing on the thanks :)

miranth said...

Goodnight RW! More opinions certainly can't hurt :)

I'll check back, Wendy!

Anon616 said...

*pouts* blogger just ate my long corruption comment!

Anon616 said...

It went something like:

Ray Nagin has met several times with Detroit's mayor. I hope they're learning about what NOT to do from each other! ;)

Although, I do think Nagin is basically an honest man other in NOLA are not.

Several judges have been indicted, the former DA was forced out of office in disgrace, William Jefferson has been indicted for racketeering, soliciting bribes and money-laundering, our former governor - Edwards - is in prison in Texas for corruption.....and the list goes on and on.....

RW: YES!!! Mya is trying to plan a trip to NOLA. Then, we'll hit the beach in Florida :) if schedules allow.

resurrected wreck said...

*pops back in*

Take her for drinks at Lafitte's, Anon 616!

*pops back out again*

Anon616 said...

Miranth: Tell your niece she is very welcome and give her another big hug for me!

Goodnight RW and sweetdreams.

Well, I suppose I should be off too. I'm not in much of a mood for chatting with myself on-line tonight. :P

Goodnight Ergo, Miranth, Mayo, SS, anons and lurkers!

Sweet dreams to one and all!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy

PS: I'll check back in a couple of hours too, Miranth.

Anon616 said...

Will do RW! And, Pat O'Briens!!!!
;)

miranth said...

I am glad Mya is going to visit! I hope you both have great fun :)

Wendy - I do get the sense that Nagin is an honest man, however there's only so much one honest person can do! Kilpatrick on the other hand is a very self-interested person. While he has done some good for detroit, he seems to have been doing himself one better!

Anon616 said...

Ooops, two more things;

RW: I would have to go with the bongos!!!

Ergo: *big post dinner smoooooch* for dessert, when you return! ;)

Anon616 said...

Miranth: Kilpatrick sounds a lot like William Jefferson, Cleo Fields, several members of the Morial Adminstration and Edwin Edwards.

Personally, I wish Huey Long could be resurrected! LOL!!! That man would kick some butt ;)

Okay, now I really must be off. I'll talk to you later, Miranth!

miranth said...

Good night/day :) You know how that goes!

Bellatrix - While I have never mentioned this before, I have always noted your kindness to all, and I thank you for that! :)

Why is everyone talking to me anonymously???? :) I speak in blue - it suits my coloring ;)

Anon 6:10am - Not that I am in love with anyone at the moment, but I never let 'love' drag me down! That's when its time to fix it or bail :)

Anon 12:00pm - Thank you for that :) *Tips hat, back*

Anon 12:25 - I did some research a while ago because someone contacted one of my many nieces - and there was something else that happened too, but I didn't recognize it at the time, as I was just there to chaperone my niece. (I've never even told my niece, so don't bother asking.) All of this piqued my curiosity, and I had some concerns, too, so I lurked (elsewhere) to discover what I could and noticed peculiarities in grammar among certain posters, which caught my eye professionally. I found few answers, however, and gave up. Later, when I checked the net after the Detroit PR incident, I recognized someone's writing style! :) (Not on this blog) Because I recognized the writing, I felt that the person was 'having people on' (at least to some extent.) And I didn't investigate further.

But when I realized I had found this spot, too, and what a wonderful group of people had gathered here, I kept checking back and offering encouragement when things were contentious. Eventually, I joined in because of that sense of community, despite the fact that we meet (at some remove) in cyberspace. :) I shan't 'name' the person, as I carry no grudge, and could be mistaken in any case, but I do hope this helps.

But do you know what irks me most? I forgot all about telling someone about these issues when I went to the concert! I could have at least tried to tell stage crew members or security. And then when I did get an autograph, as my friend stayed, it was such an uncomfortable experience that I didn't remember either. Terrible!!!! So that should answer the other anon's question about knowing the band.

========================

I read this and thought I should respond.

Kapunua said...
And I'm not into the whole "social niceties demand I say a word of greeting to you when I clearly hate you anyway." I like people who are sincere with me. I don't like people who talk to me because they think it makes them look "bigger," or nicer or whatever. Most people only do it because they want to impress certain people with their sweetsweet eternally kind and loving hearts. Yet it's as fake as can be because it's obvious how they really feel anyway.

Well, where to start :) I learned to treat people well, regardless of how I am treated, early on in catholic school. I practiced this concept, to my very great cost, as a young, naive adult, in detroit, no less. My friends weren't to be trusted, nor was anyone else. I felt horrible and lived by treating others in kind and avoiding the bad lot. As I age, I find myself returning to the practice of treating others kindly, come what may, because I really feel that spiritually, it is our raison d'etre and an integral part of my nature, as well. Those nuns sure did a good job on me ;) To the point where the great majority of my thoughts are charitable ones. And I also find that here in cyberspace, I can be kind and feel no real world repercussions of my kindness, which I know, can be very great indeed. The person I wish to impress, in this instance, is myself. So anyone who reads this can call me selfish, should they choose :)

===============================

Mayo, If you read this, just start from the top, it's easier :)

PS - People's feelings are always warranted. Emotions are the only thing no one can reasonably argue against.

♥ Lovelies, have a beautiful day!

Goodnight Wendy! And thanks for asking about my niece, that was sweet. She really did appreciate your kindness.

Morning Mayo & BlogPeople,

Just caught up and I am so glad I'm usually asleep when the more moronic elements decide to pay a visit, on the subject of which - a chimpanzee?! Presumably everything Gerard once said about animal rights was a lie - just like all the other little fibs he's so fond of - but I can't imagine the other band members were too happy about a restrained primate being the centrepiece for a birthday celebration after all their PETA stuff. Maybe the photo was misrepresented?

Re: The TBS discussion from Saturday - sucks to be Chauntelle, but Kapunua was right - unless Adam Lazzara preaches the atheist doctrine for 5 years before marrying the Pope, then forcing his fans to sit through a 45-minute Latin Mass at gigs and using every concert and interview to preach that the Catholic is the one true church and without them there would be no Sunday to take back - Gerard's still in a (hypocritical) league of his own, I'm afraid...

Knocking up a mutual friend 2 months after splitting with your fiance does scream 'insensitive', if not actually 'cheating', b*****d though!

Yeah, yeah - I'm a bit behind on the blog.

Kassiopeia said...

Yes. Deleting your blog doesn't delete your blogger (blue) account. You could just make your blog private so you have somewhere to collect your thoughts without being read by others, and can still resurrect it later. Or you could make your profile private so that clicking on your blue name here won't link back to you.

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

And to do that, is where in my settings Kass? (and thanks!)

Good morning/afternoon/night Mayo, SS, Lewis, Kass, Miranth, the probably soon to arrive FASC, Possum and Ergo; watchers, lurkers, summer guests and (blog)life long residents of blogbelieve!

It seems as though I just left. Probably because I did! Oh well, that 32 minutes of sleep was quite reinvigorating!

I hope you are all doing well this morning (or whatever it is for each of you).

PJ: I loves ya too!!!!! *blows kisses to PJ!*

Kass: I'm happy to hear your injury is a bit better! Pulled a back muscle while pumping too much iron OR playing drunken karaoke, eh? SURE KASS! I believe you ;)
Speaking as a catholic school/raised catholic girl , I loved that "there would be no Sunday to take back" line!

Lewis: HELLO!!! It's always good to 'see' you! Let me know where you will be hanging out in blog land....please.
I'm sure Kass probably answered you while I've been typing my little fingers off....nearly. But, incase she didn't: Go into EDIT PROFILE then into PRIVACY and uncheck the 'share my profile box'. Then click on 'save profile setting'.

J: How's L doing? Is she feeling any better? And, how are you? I hope you're feeling a little less blueish!

Miranth: You're welcome! Yes, those nuns/catholic school teachers certainly did know how to get their point across, didn't they. I was whacked with a ruler - across the palm of my hand - once and ONLY ONCE. I always did learn my lessons quickly (well, MOST lessons). ;)

To ponder/encourage/ignore today:

Hey Mayo,

I haven't had too much time to dwell or think or question this morning. Actually, I woke up with a song on the brain and on my tongue, so I think I will leave it for you. I love the lyrics. Maybe you will too.

You Don't Understand Me

You don't understand me
But if the feeling was right
You might comprehend me
And why do you feel the need to tease me?
Why don't you turn it around?
It might be easier to please me

And there's always another point of view
A better way to do the things we do
And how can you know me and I know you
If nothing is true?

What do you think that you are doing? (Ooh...)
Who is the fool, the fool
Or the fool that you are fooling? (Fool that you are fooling)
And maybe I just don't see the reason (reason)
But in the court of my heart
Your ignorance is treason

And there's always another point of view
A better way to do the things we do
And how can you know me and I know you
If nothing is true?

You think you know how I feel
It's not that big of a deal
There's no such thing, it's not real
Oh...

You don't understand me
But if the feeling was right
You might comprehend me
And I don't claim to understand you (oooh...)
But I've been looking around
And I haven't found anybody like you

And there's always another point of view
A better way to do the things we do
And how can you know me and I know you
If nothing is true?

The Raconteurs

I feel like that alot. Ya know? How can I "get" anyone else when I don't even really get myself most of the time? And how can I expect anyone to "get" me?

Get it?

Of course you do.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. But sometimes I understand a little too much...

RE House of Wolves lyrics,
Gosh I've always heard 'Yes I am', despite the lyrics sites saying S-I-N.
'Yes I Am' gives the song more of a punk 'F*** you,I'm a bad-ass' attitude, fitting with the angry voice. Mind you, GW does do odd things with his pronunciation at times, so I'm open to all theories =)

Good morning Mayo,SS and Family!

Thank YOU,Miranth.It’s very sweet. :)

Albatross, good to see you here.I MISS YOU!

Ah,so yesterday you guys talked about revolutions. And still they ask me why I love you all!

“it's not that i don't think revolutions need never happen, kapunua -- but i think of them like natural disasters. i don't celebrate them -- they bring about great change, change that is usually necessary, but so much is lost, and usually to horrific violence, the worst of humanity set free.”

I can get your point, toujours. And I partly agree with you. There’s no denying revolutions change the system in which they take shape, but that’s actually their purpose.Trying to modify the system to build a better world (at least most of the times).

Seeing where I am from and the story of my country,it’s only natural I admire revolutionaries such as Robespierre or Che Guevara, whose actions can be accepted because of their aim .But I also admire revolutionaries like Gandhi or Nelson Mandela, who tried/are still trying to change this world without violence.I do believe that’s the better way.

But I can understand the necessity of fighting for your ideals. If you think about the World War II,we have plenty of cases in which people had to fight to get freedom. In Spain, for example, where civilians had to take up weapons to overthrow Franco’s dictatorship.Or here in Italy, where a lot of people, known as “partigiani”,decided to fight Nazis and Fascists to free the country. There wasn’t another way to do it,and it probably wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for people like them.

Jules,I have to be honest with you:the story I know about Salvatore Giuliano is totally different from yours. But I can’t say I’m too much informed about him.I’ll try and gather more information, though.

There have been other people who tried to free Sicily from Mafia, anyway, and maybe you could be interested in learning something about them. Peppino Impastato, for example,a young man whose father was a Mafioso and that was killed because he exposed a lot of Mafiosi and their actions through his radio programme ,Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, two magistrates who were about to defeat Mafia for good and were victims of two attacks, and Father Ciotti ,who is trying to fight against organized crime.

There’s even a beautiful Italian song about Peppino Impastato.

Right,I have to go and study.
Have a wonderful day Mayo,SS and Lovelies.
I’ll see you later.
Love you all
*HUGS & KISSES*

Jules,I have to be honest with you:the story I know about Salvatore Giuliano is totally different from yours. But I can’t say I’m too much informed about him.I’ll try and gather more information, though.

Ooooh, do tell! I admit I have a romanticized version of him in my head but I love stories about him anyway. I'm sure that the political climate and circumstances were in fact the opposite of romantic. I will have to look at those links later.

Somehow today I have to: go to Patchogue for who knows how the hell long, then manage to pick up nine birds from different parts of the island, assuming they are all still alive. I've got to get started now and get the first three ASAP so I have to run. Catch you guys later, sorry if I left anyone out!

Just popping in for a minute!

I about had a heart attack last night, you guys. Like, seriously. Not seriously, I'm just joking, but anyhoot.

You know how you're looking for something and when you can't find it, your mind goes through all of the scenerios on where it could be? Then you start freaking out because you don't know where to even begin looking for it?

Oh, yes. Let me tell you. I have a VHS cassette tape of a lot of MCR shit. Interviews, live performances including the performance of "WTTBP" literally performed atop New York City. I had all of the "Making Of..." videos on there. The Fuse debut of TBP music at Fuse studios.

Like, a shitload of shit, right? I thought I lost it, and of course I was a touch frantic, 'cause that's a lot of stuff I would never want to lose.

FOUND IT! Whoop whoop! My LOTMS is still fucking MIA though.

Have a great Tuesday, Mayo, SS, all of BlogBelieve!

Harsh, but true.

Maybe Gerard didn't realize the arrogance and cruelty of hiring trained monkeys? It's easy to be naive about things like that. Or maybe, like Anima suggested, it's part of a program or something to educate people, or like a charity of some sort. Maybe?

That doesn't take away all the ridiculous and harmful things he's done since the summer, but this is just really, really weird and maybe it's like a charity thing.

Catch you later, Kass!

12:28, do you really think a dude who is in with the likes of MSI cares about that kind of thing? Plus, I think the last thing that anyone involved with MSI wants is for anything about MCR fans being disappointed to get back to them. I mean, doesn't MSI's fame kind of ride on MCR fans? You know?

Anonymous said...

i think Gerard rented the monkey to be crazy and zany like his new MSI friends.

Anonymous said...

i think if enough fans bombard his blog, he might bring it up.

Anonymous said...

Well, but if it has nothing to do with the dude then it seems unfair to blog-bomb him though.

Anonymous said...

Let me put this into perspective for some of you. Gerard's insincerity is crushing to everyone who knows him for long enough. Not just the fans. He's a charlatan who gets by on the sympathy of people. He's had more "second chances" than most people ever get in a month. Because he's pretty and very very VERY charismatic, most people are taken in by him. Very few people are not taken in by him. Jimmy Urine is one of the people who is not taken in by him and actually sees Gerard for who and what he is.

Anonymous said...

As soon as Gerard is no longer with certain people or negative influences. It will happen, just a matter of time before he gets bored, annoyed and sees everything in a new light. Then you will see Gerard wanting to get back to his roots, the way he used to be. Hopefully it will not be too late.
He may have blinders on but only for a while. All a matter of time before he wakes up and sees what a mess he made.
I hope he can clean it up and it doesn't destroy him. Time will tell the tale of the wicked

Sounds like you are saying he is a very selfish individual. That he only cares about himself. Is that what you believe?
How would you come to believe this?

It may be because I'm just tired and have lots of things on my mind, but I'm utterly confused by today's conversation concerning Gerard, Lyn-Z, and MSI.

We've all been upset, confused, concerned, and, at times understanding since Projekt Rev. about the whole thing.

Is it because of this monkey that other people are now talking about the state of MCR?

Because I just really don't see what the monkey, a gift or whatever it was, a personal thing, has to do with band.

And if I'm totally missing the mark, clarify for it me?

Amyranth said...

I agree with Mustard.

I had a bit of a "What? A monkey?" moment, but mostly because it seems like a kind of 'out there' present.

Why would this have anything to do with the band otherwise?

I think people are trying to say his "actions" are making everyone question him. It is becoming extreme.
He would never have thought of "renting a monkey" 4 years ago.
Doing backbends at concerts.
Telling women he wants to hear them moan and how "you'll be doing that for the reat of your life" comments are not the "values" he once stated he had. That is upsetting people. Most of the behavior seems to be worse since he has been with LynZ.
Those are just a few examples.
My opinion is that "rock stardom" finally went to his head big time.
It's hard when people are constantly telling you how "great" you are and you have such a large fan base. People who run and cater to him, never question him.

It could be lost very quickly. It had happened to other rock stars. He is not immune.
I think his bubble will burst and soon.I want the old Gee back!

Anonymous said...

You and me both, my friend.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I get all of that. A lot of us here share the exact same concerns.

I guess I'm just confused by the fact that a monkey (let me stress that this is personal and completely unrelated to the band), of all things, has changed the minds of so many fans.

I don't know. It just boggles my mind that pummeling Frank onstage, praising MSI, taking them out on tour as support, asking ludicrous things of the crowd, and all that jazz, didn't affect their thoughts in any way, but a monkey did.

Anyway, I still don't geddit, but that's cool! :)

It's called evolving. The smart ones do.
I still love the little G-Man.
Yeah, I'm a sucker, so what! I am not blind either.

I guess the only thing we can do is hope -- hope that he's okay and the band is, too.

The folowing is a letter that PETA requested its members send to Warner during the making of Speed Racer, explaining why they were boycotting the film:

I am extremely disappointed with Warner Bros. for using a live chimpanzee to play the role of Chim Chim in Speed Racer. Great apes used for entertainment are torn away from their mothers as infants, repeatedly beaten during training, and discarded when they become too strong to be managed. There is no excuse for that kind of abuse, especially considering the alternatives to using live animals, such as animatronics, animation, and CGI. Such techniques worked marvelously well in Jurassic Park and the remake of King Kong.

Instead of going to see Speed Racer in the theater, I'll be staying in and renting the animated series. I hope that Warner Bros. never uses chimpanzees or any other great apes in its productions again.

It might explain why people are upset that Gerard would "rent" a live wild animal to serve as entertainment for his wife's birthday party.

Anonymous said...

You never know. I am sure it has struck alot of nerves with Peta supporters.

I think it has more to do with whom he is married to and the changes in his behavior. If he was married to someone else, a person NOT in the business; would you honestly believe he would act the way he is? No way.
He seems like he is easily influenced as well.
GW doesn't make very good choices sometimes. Too impetuous, doesn't think first, bored very easily.
The band as a whole should not have to suffer because of it.
I hope they don't in the long run. I hope they can get along despite certain obstacles.
I do not believe in bashing Gerard. I am certainly not trying to do that. It would be nice to see him happy with a person that has "his" best interest at heart.

At this juncture, I am not sure if his new wife has his best interests at heart. case and point: Actions sometimes do speak louder than words.

The band as a whole should not have to suffer because of it.

But they do. As Gerard is the mouthpiece for the band, it is assumed (unconsciously, at least) that the actions and words he spouts onstage, in interviews and at band appearances speak for all of them. This is perpetuated by the fact that none of the other four band members have ever publicly refuted or challenged him on any of it. I can't imagine they're all cool with the lies and the antics, so I can only conclude that their keeping mum is a form of band solidarity. In a way it's admirable, but in protecting Gerard they're damaging their own integrity, at least as far as public appearance goes. That can't me making them feel very good.

watching that MSI interview from 2008 it sunk in that gerard is actually being influenced by jimmy urine. Ok so he is also being influenced by lynz but she is influenced by jimmy. jimmy writes all the stuff and is the brain behind it. she is nothing. and as much as i don't like MSI lyrics and general genre of music, i do think jimmy is a clever guy.

in that video he is saying stuff that gerard was also saying in interviews a few months back. i honestly think GW got bored with being about a message and started thinking "fuck it!" and i think that was all influenced by meeting MSI.

why on earth GW thought he had to follow jimmy piss to be cool who the fuck knows, but apparently he did!

will go find the link.

If he were really stupid, people would think “Well, poor guy,he’s an idiot. He can’t understand what’s right and what’s wrong".
But he’s not like that. He’s clever enough to follow up the celebrity GW’s given to his band and to write lyrics like those.
Because, obviously,if you write *songs* about homophobia and pedophilia claiming they’re not so bad you definitely will draw attention to your band,no matter what kind.

i hope that Frank, Bob and Ray start developing their own separate identities way from the band to keep their credibility. Frank has, and the other two most likely behind the scenes.

As for the way brothers, birds of a feather...

That is understandable. You aren't going to have one brother go against the other unless it was something insanely drastic. Brothers will be brothers. However, there is a band called Oasis and those bros dont like each other.
One is way to cocky and the other is nicer. Uh oh.

Jules,I have to be honest with you:the story I know about Salvatore Giuliano is totally different from yours. But I can’t say I’m too much informed about him.I’ll try and gather more information, though.

The TRUE story of Salvatore Giuliano

Bandit and Murderer, or Hero and Patriot?

"I live by my conscience and I do nothing anonymously. I am willing to take full responsibility in the eyes of God and man for all that I do. I have killed when it is just to do so, but never has Giuliano soiled his hands with blood for the sake of money."

Salvatore Giuliano, 1946 (Quoted in Maxwell, G. Bandit. 1956)

A young man of twenty, handsome and fearless, was carrying two bags of grain from one Sicilian village to another. The state police, the caribineri, ordered him to stop. He was asked to produce his identity card. He gave it to one of the officers, who commanded him to release his bags of grain. The two argued. The young man protested that he was merely transporting food to the hungry people in his village, and the caribinere insisted that the young man reveal the source of his black-market grain. The young man felt threatened by the rifle that the frowning caribinere was pointing at him. He drew a Beretta from his waist and fired at the officer. Suddenly, the young man ran, leaving his identity card behind. He was fired upon by the other officer, and fell to the ground. The caribinere that he had shot was bleeding to death as the second officer fired again and hit the fleeing smuggler. The young man dragged himself into the scruffy vegetation. He was bleeding from a wound in his back. Because the caribineri had his identity card, it was not necessary for the officer to pursue the wounded culprit. It was another case of a black-market Sicilian peasant trying to avoid the authorities. He would either die like a dog in the underbrush, or find some other peasant to nurse his wound. They would find him soon enough.

Thus began the outlaw career of Salvatore Giuliano. Not only would he become the most famous fugitive in Sicily, but he would become a legend that fascinated most of the western world for the next seven years. A featured story with photographs appeared in Life. Articles about him appeared a half a dozen times in Time. Newspapers throughout Europe ran stories about his exploits almost daily.

What are we to make of Giuliano?

Brigands and bandits were and are a continuing presence in Sicily. Why should we think that Giuliano was any different?

Part of the explanation can be found in the times in which he lived, and part of his fascination can be explained by a typical Sicilian state of mind. Times were harsh, government was in chaos, and heroes were few. Further, the centuries-old domination of the peasants in Sicily created a mind-set that resisted authority, however feebly, and glorified those brave enough to defy it on their behalf. Giuliano, at least in spirit, represented the defiance of oppression that the average peasant could not afford to embrace. This, in large part, explains why the citizens of Montelepre and surrounding villages went to such lengths to protect Giuliano.

However, there is no question that Giuliano was a killer. Admirers claim that he killed only when he had to, but the variety of his victims makes that claim suspect. His killing of informants was particularly cold-blooded, the messages pinned on his victims notwithstanding.

In order to understand him, it is necessary to consider the following: He was young. That fact is often forgotten. He had the idealism of youth, and with that the ability to rationalize his actions. He was charismatic, handsome, and, despite his youth, dignified, giving him an attractiveness not usually associated with a common bandit. He was, for a Sicilian peasant, articulate, and, in some ways, literate, so that he defied the usual image of thuggery associated with bandits.

I'd only be there a week and a half to two weeks, EP. I'd probably stay around Brisbane area, as that's where my sister and her family are. Though I may make a short trip or two to other parts of the country. Depends on how the money holds out. Is Australia an expensive place?

Hey guys.

Hey anon, thanks for the info on Giuliano. I'm familiar with that side of the story; further, the note that he pinned on his dead informants read: "Thus die all who betray Giuliano." ^_^

Sigh.

So, Mayo. What.
