Way down at the center of the Earth, the core as it is called, the pull is intense. The rest of it, what I see every day, endlessly revolves, but down there it is all held in tight. I want to be that close, leave the cycle, become random. I am a part of the pattern and I know that is why I feel this way. So much of it is polluted.
There is the challenge.
I tried to dig it up once. I wanted to know if it would pull my soul out and then would it also find a place in rotation? Follow me around batting at the back of my head? But, my palms blistered before I made it. I would like to say I did not give up, but I did.
Yesterday, I read in the news that someone had finally reached it. Once they arrived, they made legal claim of the core of the Earth. Stuck a flag in it and gave it a proper name, in a proper way...I hate proper. So, now I want it even more. The rest of it can float off for all I care.
Well, not all of it.
I will try again. This time, a bigger shovel and a pair of gloves might do the trick, save my hands. I will not quit; it is worthy work. When I get there, I will release it. I no longer wish to be a part of its rotation. Instead, I wish for the whole of it to become the rest of it.
p.s. each day the same way and then look at it again if its there, focus.

«Oldest ‹Older 2001 – 2200 of 2893 Newer› Newest»All my inlaws are Sicilian, my father in law was born there and his older sisters remember living there and Mt Etna etc.The other brothers/sisters were born here, 8 of them There are a lot of relatives still over there (and my father in laws still gets letters to get him to do military service lol)
Makes for brilliant food at family do's!
i did have a good monday, sort of, mel anon -- dull and frustrating with the technology (is mercury retrograde?) -- but good otherwise for some reason.
and a belated hello to everyone else *hugs all around*
i was a bit...
distracted
by kapunua's question.
*wicked grin*
The worst of the framings that happened to Giuliano when he was living with his army and trying to free Sicily, was the Portella Della Genestra celebration. There he and his men were going to fire some rounds off above the crowd to send a message to, and to scare off, the corrupt leaders who were surrounding the event. Except that one of his new recruits was a rat. It was an inside job. And the guy actually fired into the crowd killing a bunch of people. Now everyone already knew that Giuliano and his men were going to be present there and making a scene, but none of the civilians were worried because Giuliano always fought for them and he never harmed them.
After this event is when the tide started to really turn against him.
It is such a terrible, tragic story.
What kind of cheese was it, I wonder?
Good thing he didn't try to bring a chimp.
I have family in Germany! I found a band on myspace (from Germany)with a band member that has my same last name. Kinda cool (my maiden name [errr, i hate using that word] is kind of unusual).
Mel, thank you for asking. I am doing okay. Hanging in there. :)
....
Well my friends I must go. Thanks for hanging out! I need to go work on a few things. Elena and TJ I haven't forgotten about the photos. For some reason with my new phone I'm having trouble uploading them. I will keep you posted. :)
...
♥ to all of you.
You too Mayo (just in case you didn't think you were included int the 'all'). Night.
other relatives are scottish and irish
TJ, I think Mercury is still retrograde. Ergoproxy, that is thoroughly awesome! Sicily is my dream! RW, a few web pages say that it was flour he was smuggling and not cheese. But either way, the laws were ridiculously tight over there in the 30s and you couldn't be carrying certain food around from one town to another without paying a huge tax! So basically he really was smuggling, but you know, it was one of those things where he was in the right and the law was in the wrong. You know?
Night, Anima :)
Good night anima. Take care. :)
My ancestors are Vikings & crazy Russians, with a sprinkling of English and French to keep it interesting.
Take care Anima. Goodnight and sweet dreams!
I'll be back in a bit. Must do some chores while it's not super hot.
Good night Anima! You've got me curious about your unmarried name. ^_^
My great great Gran had a terrific German name: Frankhauser. How cool is that?
That's cool, K ^_^
My grandmother had a cool first name: Leocadia
Look, here is Salvatore's tomb and the house where he was born.
See you, BC :D
I love the little balcony on that house.
goodnight anima sweet dreams
I have some famous relatives, though I won't name them, and someone in a band I also suspect is distant family, again last name and funnily enough looks)
One of my distant cousins was a dalek
I have some famous relatives, though I won't name them
*pouts*
ANd he was really good-looking too, naturally. ^_~
Him and Che Guevara - hot revolutionaries.
Revolutionaries in general turn me on. People who stand up and fight for others, you know? People who aren't happy with injustice and such? It has become impossible in this country anymore. We'll never have true revolutionaries in America, I think. I think we'll never have another revolution, in fact.
good night anima -- sweet dreams to you. :)
well, genealogy is one of my "things" -- i learned that the first person of my paternal line to come to america did so as an officer in the english navy (back when new york was still new amsterdam) but the really cool thing about it is that my father shared his name, exactly!
i mean, that rates a "wow", doesn't it? :D
Well, my baff calls. I shall return...
and here's a bit of a confession: i'm always more on the side of the royals, as far as historical revolutions go.
i had to give a report on the french revolution back in jr. high, and it turned me into a loyalist.
I am not allowed to say anything about my relatives-in-law. They are Italian. I can say that.
I am going to bed. Can't keep my eyelids open. The toothpicks are not working.
-_-
Goodnight RW, ergo, Tj,Bc, Mayo and anyone I may have missed.
Have a good Tuesday!
Really TJ? I'm always for the peasants, the underlings, the commoners who want change.
good night mel anon. have a good night's rest!
well I don't know if you'd know them, the daddo brothers they are actors
you may know of Cameron
goodnight mel sweet dreams
TJ my dad looks just like a pic of a relative who came over for goldmining and in a museum a woman did a double take at him as he was standing beside it and he didn't realise
No Ergo, I've never heard of them. That's pretty cool!
Working Class Hero
by John Lennon
As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and class less and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
Remember what a great writer he was. How true this song still is today.
^I love that song. I also liked it when Mad Season covered it.
it's not that i don't think revolutions need never happen, kapunua -- but i think of them like natural disasters. i don't celebrate them -- they bring about great change, change that is usually necessary, but so much is lost, and usually to horrific violence, the worst of humanity set free.
even social revolutions throw away so much.
and a handsome revolutionary is usually one thin line away from being a bloodthirsty despot, you know.
not your guy, though! he sounds more like a robin hood figure.
She's not a girl who misses much
Do do do do do do- oh yeah
She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd with the multicoloured mirrors
On his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy
Working overtime
A soap impression of his wife which he ate
And donated to the National Trust
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down

I know nobody can do me no harm
Because happiness is a warm gun, momma

Yeeeaahhh!
Hi!
I've obviously forgotten my password or something!
Just peeking in before I turn out the light!
How are things going, people?
They called him the Robin Hood of Sicily, that's true.
Yes, revolutions are of course bloody and horrific, but so is Not Revolutions. America right now is pretty bloody and horrific.
Not all revolutions are noble either, of course. One could argue (and I often do) that the American revolution came at the most awful eventual cost to Native Americans, after all.
I'll try this again...
Hooray!
Check it out! Il Castello di Giuliano!
I want to go there to the point of insanity.

Always try to give a song to relax people, or make them think. ;)
A whole photo gallery!
Oh my gosh.
Oh, one of the coolest Salvatore Giuliano stories is by Mario Puzo, called The Sicilian. Obviously it's fictionalized and set into his own Godfather world but it is a great book and it's the one that got me first obsessed with Giuliano. I actually wrote to Mario Puzo asking him some questions about the book, but he died the next week. So uhh, he never did answer me.
There was a terrifically bad movie based on the book too, which I wish I'd never seen.

Bang Bang
The straight jacket of true luv's fine - bang bang
If you're Houdini in your spare time - bang bang
Lord Nel and Lady Hamilton they fought for love
When he come home from the war he gave her what for love
The mighty fall when love has called
Vampire friends desire to lust - fang fang
They fall on necks then fall in love - pang pang
The Marquis de Sade was happy with a stroke of love
Sherlock Holms alone preferred a little token love
Bang bang, the mighty fall
Bang bang, when love has called
Bang bang, the mighty fall
Tony and Cleo struck out for the freedom down Egypt's way
But Caesar had squeezed her in Rome on his quilt for a day
Hey hey
Now Anthony got really angry
About old Caesar's hanky panky
She told em she would use em
And boy did she abuse em
Fall in love and blew em away
Bang bang, the mighty fall
Bang bang, when love has called
Bang bang, the mighty fall
Bang bang
And Sam and Delilah they both we should file under fool
'Cos when the temple start to crumple
Sammy for his comb did fumble
Life was in a ruin, she loved Johnny Fruin
Fall in love and blew em away
Bang bang, when love has called
Bang bang, the mighty fall
Bang bang, when love has called
Bang bang ....
Here's a headline I just read in the news and it struck me as funny:
"The newsman who made headlines with his expose of Michael Jackson has been hit with a brain tumour."
They make it sound like someone threw one at him.
"Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?"
Mya I am actually not sure, I had to move meat out to a small freezer to clean the big one as we're cutting up on saturday and one pork roast wouldn't fit so it's thawed, don't know what I'll do to have with it though
Well, the midnight mockingbird is singing and I'd better get to bed. Good night! Thanks for listening to me babble about my Sicilian revolutionary.
We're playing those mind games together,
Pushing barriers, planting seeds,
Playing the mind guerilla,
Chanting the Mantra peace on earth,
We all been playing mind games forever,
Some kinda druid dudes lifting the veil.
Doing the mind guerilla,
Some call it the search for the grail,
Love is the answer and you know that for sure,
Love is flower you got to let it, you got to let it grow,
So keep on playing those mind games together,
Faith in the future outta the now,
You just can't beat on those mind guerillas,
Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind,
Yeah we're playing those mind games forever,
Projecting our images in space and in time,
Yes is the answer and you know that for sure,
Yes is the surrender you got to let it, you got to let it go,
So keep on playing those mind games together,
Doing the ritual dance inn the sun,
Millions of mind guerrillas,
Putting their soul power to the karmic wheel,
Keep on playing those mind games forever,
Raising the spirit of peace and love, not war,
(I want you to make love, not war, I know you've heard it before)
Another good one. I am glad you liked the other one K. ;)
Life it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things are not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly lost, this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel
Emptiness is filing me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me, but now He's gone
No one but me can save myself, but it to late
Now I can't think, think why I should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death Greets me warm, now I will just say good-bye
FADE TO BLACK
thanks for the discussion, kapuna -- sorry i disappeared there for a bit -- got stuck over in email again! D:
i have certain opinions i usually keep to myself, be cause i know they aren't usual, and my attitude about revolutions is one of them. i'm an american, i'm supposed to root for the revolutionary, right? hippies were cool, right?
*shrugs*
i had my beatles phase. i'm over it.
*waits to be flogged, stoned, and run out of town, covered in tar and feathers*
I like.
Moonlight on the water,
Sun light on my face,
You and me together,
We are in our place,
The gods are in the heavens,
The angels treat us well,
The oracle has spoken,
We cast the (perfect) spell,
Now it begins - let it begin,
Cleanup Time,
(Show those mothers how to do it),
The queen is in the counting home,
Counting out the money,
The king is in the kitchen,
Making bread and honey,
No friends and yet no enemies,
Absolutely free,
No rats aboard the magic ship,
Of (perfect) harmony,
Now it begins,
Cleanup Time,
(Show those mothers how to do it),
However, far we travel,
Wherever we may roam,
The centre of the circle,
Will always be our home,
The gods are in the heavens,
The angels treat us well,
The oracle has spoken,
We cast the (perfect) spell.
Ergo, I'm sure whatever you do will be wonderful!
I see you guys were talking of Sicilian things and the mafia was mentioned and Mario Puzo... That reminds me that I want to read (again) The Godfather. I've also always wanted to read The Sicilian.
o-oh, here comes the early morning humping sessions
I like. The day crew is gone. Time or hte night crew to come out and clean up the mess!
Not Beatles. John Lennon. Difference. No flogging for Molly. I love that band
Hi Mya, anons.
1:05
I like those lyrics. Who sings it? Thought provoking anon, isn't that song by Metallica?
i had my beatles phase. i'm over it.
Same, actually. I was a total Beatles fan when I was 14, but don't listen to them much any more. Not that I don't still think they're good - I do - but I find them a bit pappy for my current tastes.
Hi, BC, RW, and anons
If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
Till Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you
Time in a Bottle, Greatest Love Songs, by Jim Croce
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
I was really more a Who fan than the Beatles, I liked some of their stuff but I was kind of at that musical crossroads in the early 70's and the Beatles seemed kind of old then.
Oh, and TJ! Sorry, TJ! Didn't mean to leave you out!

Yep. Especially skid marks on the castle foor. I cleaned them up my dear. No need to do it now.

I was all about James Tayor, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young... And... lemme think...
oh 1:12 I really like that song
...just a love song. not very thought provoking.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give fate a fighting chance
Lee Ann Womack: I Hope You Dance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their years and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
Lee Ann Womack: Greatest Hits
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance

oh! time in a bottle -- i grew up with that song, actually. as sung by roger whittaker. :)
there was another one that i just though was super romantic as a kid..."the fifth of never" i think? something like that.
and resurrected wreck! ergo! *clings* i'm so glad to know i'm not alone.
anon, oh yeah the skid marks......and that big oil stain I covered up with the rug.....
mayo really doesn't mind, I think....hope?......
"Tarantula"
I don't want to fight
Every single night
Everything I want is in your eyes
You and me go back
To places I don't know to care
The spoils of all I got were left for scraps
Don't let me say this
But you're no worse than me
It's crazy
We are the real
If real ever was
And just because
We are the real
They feel we have enough
We are the real
'Cause someone gave us up
I want to be there when you're happy
I want to love you when you're sad
Can't stand the morning rain?
Get out I'll take your place then
Can't stand the blazing sun?
Then close your eyes you'll see
The angel dust
I don't want to be
Anything believed
A million watts of sound can't compare
Come along you'll see the world
The pulse ripples, the crowd unfurls
The current starts to flow and then you're on
Oh it's white hot soul they want
To sing for
We are the real
If real ever was
And just because
We are the ruin
Of every living soul
We are surreal
Cause someone gave us up
Don't break the oath
I want to love you when you're happy
Don't break this oath
I want to be there when you're sad
Freeze-frame the pouring rain
We are the real
As real as any ghost
So easy now
We are the real
In ever living soul
Oh don't they know?
Can't stand the blazing sun?
Can't stand the morning rain?
Oh get out I'll take your place again
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to be alone at all
If it's a white hot soul they want
Then a black heart they'll get
Croce! Oh, man! I just remember that I had picked out Operator on the guitar way back then...
Shit! I bet I wouldn't even know where to start!
I really should start playing again.

No stains from me. He made the stain. Not I.
TJ I recall some somng like that
and I loved Streets of London
I've got to get sleeping...
I'll try to pop in again in a day or so.
Take care!
those are very inspirational, inspirational lyrics anon! could be a theme song for what i'm trying to do these days...
don't think i've ever heard it though...
hmmm.
Cats in the Cradle is thought provoking.
Any song can be thought provoking
1:17, maybe you should rent a monkey, might put you in a better mood.
Have you seen the old man
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the paper,
with his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride
And held loosely at his side
Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news
So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind
Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?
She's no time for talking,
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home in two carrier bags.
Chorus
In the all night cafe
At a quarter past eleven,
Same old man is sitting there on his own
Looking at the world
Over the rim of his tea-cup,
Each tea last an hour
Then he wanders home alone
Chorus
And have you seen the old man
Outside the seaman's mission
Memory fading with
The medal ribbons that he wears.
In our winter city,
The rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn't care
Chorus
Goodnight and sweet dreams Mya
You and me
Meant to be
Immutable
Impossible
It's destiny
Pure lunacy
Incalculable
Insufferable
But for the last time
You're everything that I want and ask for
You're all that I'd dreamed
Who wouldn't be the one you love
Who wouldn't stand inside your love
Protected and the lover of
A pure soul and beautiful you
Don't understand
Don't feel me now
I will breathe
For the both of us
Travel the world
Traverse the skies
Your home is here
Within my heart
And for the first time
I feel as though I am reborn
In my mind
Recast as child and mystic sage
Who wouldn't be the one you love
Who wouldn't stand inside your love
And for the first time
I'm telling you how much I need and bleed for
Your every move and waking sound
In my time
I'll wrap my wire around your heart and your mind
You're mine forever now
Who wouldn't be the one you love and live for
Who wouldn't stand inside your love and die for
Who wouldn't be the one you love
and oh gosh, the lyrics to "tarantula" -- i had no idea. wow.
there's a gap in my music life -- i was listening to a lot of celtic and medieval music in the 90's, missed out on a lot of good music. i'm slowly catching up.
guess i know what to look for next. *grin*
Hi, Mya :D
Sorry, got distracted watching The IT Crowd.
You talk like Marlene Dietrich
And you dance like Zizi Jeanmaire
Your clothes are all made by Balmain
And there's diamonds and pearls in your hair
You live in a fancy appartement
Of the Boulevard of St. Michel
Where you keep your Rolling Stones records
And a friend of Sacha Distel
But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head
I've seen all your qualifications
You got from the Sorbonne
And the painting you stole from Picasso
Your loveliness goes on and on, yes it does
When you go on your summer vacation
You go to Juan-les-Pines
With your carefully designed topless swimsuit
You get an even suntan, on your back and on your legs
When the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz
With the others of the jet-set
And you sip your Napoleon Brandy
But you never get your lips wet
But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head, yes I do
Your name is heard in high places
You know the Aga Khan
He sent you a racehorse for chistmas
And you keep it just for fun, for a laugh haha
They say that when you get married
It'll be to a millionaire
But they don't realize where you came from
And I wonder if they really care, they give a damn
But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
Tell me the thoughts that surround you
I want to look inside your head
I remember the back streets of Naples
Two children begging in rags
Both touched with a burning ambition
To shake off their lowly brown tags, yes they try
So look into my face Marie-Claire
And remember just who you are
Then go and forget me forever
'Cause I know you still bear
the scar, deep inside, yes you do
I know where you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
I know the thoughts that surround you
'Cause I can look inside your head
Toujours
the song is I Hope You Dance sung by Lee Ann Womack
how dare you use that song! That's blasphemous!
People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,
People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,
People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.
Mind Games is very thought provoking.Read it. So is this song.
Ok, no more lyrics tonight.
This is for Mayo anyway.
G'nite dude!
I'm a big Who fan now, EP :)
So Sgt. Pepper took you by suprise,
You better thru that mother's eyes,
Those freaks was right when they said you was dead,
The one mistake you made was in your head,
How do you sleep?
Ah how do you sleep at night?
You live with straights who tell you you was king,
Jump when your mamma tell you any thing,
The only thing you did was yesterday,
And since your gone you're just another day,
How do you sleep?
Ah how do you sleep at night?
A pretty face may last a year or two,
But pretty soon they'll see what you can do,
The sound you make is muzak to my ears,
You must have learnt something all those years,
How do you Sleep?
Ah how do you sleep at night?

Goodnight anon
I must go I have titoring so I will call back in later on if I can
take care everyone
Tj elena BC RW mya anyone arriving and the anons about
I promise I will clean up that oil stain very soon...honestly
*crabs the "you know" to call cleaning service*
My child arrived just the other day,
He came to the world in the usual way.
But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay,
He learned to walk while I was away.
And he was talkin fore I knew it, and as he grew,
Hed say Im gonna be like you, yeh,
I know Im gonna be like you.
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little Boy Blue and The Man In The Moon.
When ya comin home Dad?
I dont know when, well get together then, son,
ya know well have a good time then.
Well my son turned 10 just the other day,
He said Thanks for the ball Dad, come lets play.
Can ya teach me to throw? I said
Not today, I got a lot to do. He said Thats ok.
And then, he walked away but a smile never came,
He said Im gonna be like him, yeh,
Ya know Im gonna be like him.
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little Boy Blue and The Man In The Moon.
When ya comin home Dad?
I dont know when, well get together then, son,
ya know well have a good time then.
Well he came from college just the other day,
So much like a man I just had to say
Son Im proud of you, can ya sit for a while?
He shook his head, and he said with a smile
What Id really like Dad, is to borrow the car keys.
See ya later, can I have them please?
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little Boy Blue and The Man In The Moon.
When ya comin home son?
I dont know when, well get together then, Dad,
ya know well have a good time then.
Well Ive long since retired, my sons moved away,
I called him up just the other day.
I said Id like to see you, if you dont mind.
He said Id love to Dad, if I can find the time.
You see my new jobs a hassle and the kids have the flu,
But its sure nice talking to you Dad,
Its been sure nice talking to you.
And as he hung up the phone it occurred to me,
Hed grown up just like, my boy, was just like me.
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little Boy Blue and The Man In The Moon.
When ya comin home son?
I dont know when, well get together then, Dad,
were gonna have a good time then.
Life is sometimes shorter than you think
So take yourself a hike from the kitchen sink
Me, I like to roam
Wasn’t built in a day
And night throws the stars in our way
Meanwhile on planet earth
Some people are dying for the right to say
Some people are dying ’cause the other people busy blowing them away
Well, we’re all dying so we better have a ton of fun along the way
I say hats off, get your hats off, take your hats off, get your hats off
For the blue beret
Blue beret, blue beret
The wind has blown it off his head
And sent it spinning straight to nowhere
Nowhere to get ahead in this life
Life is sometimes longer than you need
Especially if it’s thrown away on hate and greed
Well, me I like to think while the other fish swim
But sharks made a meal out of him
Meanwhile on bone dry land
Some people are dying for the right to say
Some people just want the right to say
Some people are dying ’cause the other people busy blowing them away
Some people are merely blown away
Well, we’re all dying so we better have a ton of fun along the way
I say hats off, take your hats off, get your hats off, take your hats off
To the blue beret
Blue beret, blue beret
The wind has blown it off his head
And sent it spinning straight to nowhere
Nowhere to get ahead in this life
So just love your dog and don’t kick your wife
Put down that knife, watch out the windows,
And blow your hat away
Very thought provoking i must say
oh. more, please, anon @ 12:25. i liked that. very much.
and thank you, 12:28 (just one lyric anon, or more...?). i'll try to find it. i'll be saving the lyrics, for sure. :)
*grabs!
RW I have Tommy on video too, I must get the DVD
I think it was tragic when Keith Moon died too
and i reminded of this song
I pictured a rainbow
You held in your hands
I had flashes
But you saw then plan
I wondered out in the world for years
While you just stayed in your room
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon!
The whole of the moon!
You were there at the turnstiles
With the wind at your heels
You stretched for the stars
And you know how it feels
To reach too high
Too far
Too soon
You saw the whole of the moon!
I was grounded
While you filled the skies
I was dumbfounded by truths
You cut through lies
I saw the rain-dirty valley
You saw brigadoon
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon!
I spoke about wings
You just flew
I wondered, I guessed, and I tried
You just knew
I sighed
But you swooned
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon!
The whole of the moon!
With a torch in your pocket
And the wind at your heels
You climbed on the ladder
And you know how it feels
To reach too high
Too far
Too soon
You saw the whole of the moon!
The whole of the moon!
Unicorns and cannonballs,
Palaces and piers,
Trumpets, towers, and tenemets,
Wide oceans full of tears,
Flag, rags, ferry boats,
Scimitars and scarves,
Every precious dream and vision
Underneath the stars
Take care Ergo
sorry!

there's a gap in my music life -- i was listening to a lot of celtic and medieval music in the 90's, missed out on a lot of good music. i'm slowly catching up.
I still listen to Celtic music. Do you know any Gaelic? Beautiful language. Very difficult.
They don't teach it in the schools anymore.
Sorry my friends.
Anons with lyrics, I apologize as well.
I am just so tired of hearing this crap. I should just go to bed.

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
Youll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in the fields of gold
So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in the fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
Well walk in the fields of gold
Well walk in the fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in the fields of gold
When we walked in the fields of gold
When we walked in the fields of gold
It does. I never said "speak" to me.or you.

Ya'll like that huh?
Me too, thats why I wrote it.
Night, Lyrics :)
anon, you just wasted one billion angstroms of brain space, trying to be thought provoked.
mayo,
it seems strange to think that some of things i said tonight are things that i have always regarded as secrets-not-to-be-shared, attitudes i hold that i'm sure would get me blackballed if i ever dared to express them.
and yet...
*raises arms, looks from wrist to wrist*
no tar, no feathers!
*grin*
i don't know if you remember this, but a long time ago (a "long time ago" as we reckon it in blogtime, you understand) i made a promise to you, to always speak from my true self.
i take my promises seriously, i take all my words seriously. i have to, as a witch. words are the core of magic, and if i weaken mine with falsehoods, then the magic i believe in begins to crumble. my honor and my life rest on the solidity of my words.
but this one has been difficult, at times, and increasingly so. the longer i'm here, the closer i become to the people here, the more i want to hide, and be a "good girl".
it's bizarre, because shouldn't the closeness make me feel more open?
i don't want to put on a pleasant mask. i mean, i know i feel free enough to whine and wail here when i'm feeling low, but to really say what i feel, to share my thoughts and opinions even when i think they're going to go against the crowd...
it's frightening.
(i didn't want to say anything at all about the whole beatles thing, what with everyone's admiration of them, including ss! *cringe*)
but i also don't care overmuch what people think of me. i've been the "weirdo" my whole life, and my inner voice my main guide in what i do, how i do it, and even what i'm wearing while i'm doing it!
yes, i'm afraid of public opinion and disregard it, all at once.
hey. i never claimed to be consistent. i am chock-a-block with plot holes! (it's maybe no wonder i like "porcelain and black as night" so much, huh?)
and all this another long-winded, roundabout way to say that tonight i found myself saying things i had kept close, and it was strangely exhilarating, and has renewed my determination to keep my promise to you.
whether it means anything to you or not, mayo-sama.
and now, good night. this office lady has to rise with the sun!
sweet dreams, and hopefully they were rich, too.
Thank you nice anon. You are sweet. Not just because you backed me but because, well, I feel like there are so many good people here and the stuff that gets thrown about is so awful. It's disgusting. I feel like you understand where I am getting at in all of this.
Nite to you too.
...
BC, take care sweetie. Keep on keeping on. That is totally my saying for life. I have had so many dreams, so many walls to pull me down, and so many unexpected opportunities...It's all about going for it, mixing it up and re-adjusting, I do wish you all the best.
Night again RW. ♥
You all are so lovely, don't you forget it! :)
Sting. Thanks for the nice visual. On that note. It is time for beddy bye.
Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin' to do
It's up to you, yeah you
Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darlin'
Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
Laughin' at fools like me
Who in the hell d'you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Ev'ryone come on
Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Ev'ryone you meet
Why in the world are we here
Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
When you're ev'rywhere
Come and get your share
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
Come on and on and on on on
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
On and on and on on and on
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun

So tired. When I read 'Book of Days' (Enya is pretty awesome) it made me think of 'Book of Love'...the videos and the music are so funny. I adore them, but it seems so primative. LOL!
Then I had Anything Box on my mind...so silly, but this band I did like so much back when I was a 'freshman' in highschool.
Yup. Not scared to admit it!
Here is one of there songs just for fun:

Haha! It was so good at the time I swear!

Claps. Nice!
Me too. I have no idea what I'm saying and look most everything up. I only know a few words. I cannot pronounce it properly. :(
Mom would sing to me when I was little.
Anon, yup.
It's called Mist Covered Mountains in English, and it's a song sung by a traveller. He was longing for his home and singing this as he went there.
O, roe, soon shall I see them,
O, hee-roe, see them, oh see them.
O, roe, soon shall I see them,
The mist covered mountains of home!
There shall I visit the place of my birth.
They'll give me a welcome the warmest on earth.
So loving and kind, full of music and mirth,
The sweet sounding language of home.
Chorus:
2. There shall I gaze on the mountains again.
On the fields, and the hills, and the birds in the glen.
With people of courage beyond human ken!
In the haunts of the deer I will roam.
Chorus:
3. Hail to the mountains with summits of blue!
To the glens with their meadows of sunshine and dew.
To the women and the men ever constant and true,
Ever ready to welcome one home!
It's quite beautiful. The Rankin Family did a recording of it, and I love it to bits.

So Lindsay got a monkey for her birthday.
Dude, I'd have just asked for the cash.
-A
Aba Daba Honeymoon
Way down in the Congoland
Lived a happy chimpanzee.
She loved a monkey with long tail
(Lordy, how she loved him!)
Each night he would find her there,
Swinging in the cocoanut tree,
And the monkey gay,
At the break of day,
Loved to hear his Chimpie say
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
Then the big baboon one night in June,
He married them and very soon,
They went upon their aba, daba honeymoon.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
One night they were made man and wife,
And now they cry, "This is the life,"
Since they came from their aba, daba honeymoon.
Well, you should have heard that band
Play upon their wedding day,
Each Chimp and Monkey had nutshells
(Lordy, how they played them)
And now it is ev'ry night,
High up in the cocoanut tree.
It's the same old thing,
With the same old swing,
When the Monk and Chimpie sing:
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
Then the big baboon one night in June,

And now they cry, "This is the life,"
Since they came from their aba, daba honeymoon.
can someone tell me what purpose the monkey served.
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
And that's the only part of that whole song that I know.

G'nite Mayo.
"If" it was you as anon earlier today, had me laughing. Whomever it was, had me laughing.
There is a song from a hair band titled "Talk Dirty to Me". Kind of reminded me of that.
You most likely do not read anons, let alone talk to one. In case you happen to glance at this, I wanted you to know despite the ugliness of what transpired earlier with certain people, anons and
the like. I don't hate anybody. They are chasing and keeping good people away.
Some seem to be angry people and it did make me sad.
I can be a good adversary as well.
The few that are or can be cool when they want are worth a whole lot.
I will think about things that occured today and wonder if you ever talk to anons. Will think about sitting by the fire. I love watching the flames dance in all the colors of gold, red amber and blue.
PUN INTENDED! J/K
I believe you have a sense of humor like I do.
Have a great week MayoMan!
My first real g'nite to MayoMan. ;)
I don't find myself very fond of monkeys.
-A
I like lemurs.
Don't want one for my birthday, though.
...or sloths, but i don't need them as a gift
I like dolphins, but really, not cool to cram one in the bathtub.
He wanted to get a dog for my birthday, and I kiboshed that because I don't think we have enough room.
Anon, one of many Mayo-nights? See you again soon!
-A
Mayo
Tonight my words remain within. I cannot release them. They refuse.
Goodnight
Elena
Have a good night, Elena :)
you know what i think would be an unreal gift?
those Russian space flights. maybe you can book a flight on Virgin Galactic.
Or he could have used the money to get a star named after her.
that is a wonderful idea RW. If someone did that for me it would truly touch my heart.
And it's probably more affordable than the monkey.
Night Elena!
-A
It's definitely better looking. :S
-A
and permanent reminder too
True.
actually, when i think about it, I would consider it one of the most romantic gestures ever
But she wanted a monkey. And it was her birthday.
*shrugs*
everyone is different RW, even though i can't fathom why. i hope she appreciated what he did.
as for stars, i'm just biased. i love looking for them at night.
I used to do that a lot, anon, back when I lived out in the country. Can't really see them too well where I am now, over the streetlights.
Or he could have had mementos of their time together put into a time capsule, to be opened on their 50th anniversary.
*comes in singing*
"Baby we'll be....at the drive in
in the old man's ford
behind the bushes
till I'm screamin' for more more more"
Hello Mayo, SS, Amy, RW, BC, Ergo Anons....everyone!
How are you all tonight? Good, I hope!
O_O
5K to rent a monkey?
That's a lot of money to 'rent' a monkey for a day. Heck, you could adopt a wolf for $20. Maybe he could adopt 500 wolves for Lyn-Z's next birthday!
Adopt A Wolf
If you're feeling very generous you can do the adopt a wolf for $100 and get all these goodies
With your $100 adoption:
* 17" Long Wolf Mom and 11" Long Pup Plushes -- Both Super-Cuddly

You can also adopt/sponser wolves at

Hullo, Anon 616 :)
Adopt A Wolf, eh?
*goes to have a look*
Goodnight and sweet dreams to Elena and TJ!
*blows kisses*
same here RW, it's almost impossible but when you do catch a flicker of light it make me feel elated.
and the moons reflection on water i also find breathtaking
Hi RW, Wendy and anon!
Just caught up kinda :)
How are things?
Yes, RW! Thank you for going have a look! A friend of mine adopted one for me after my Billie Jean died :(
He knew how much I love wolves and Billie Jean was part wolf. I though it was such a beautiful gesture!
Amy!!!! How are you? How's work? How's the rent collecting situation?
Moon reflection on water is beautiful. When I was in my early to mid teens we lived right by the ocean. I would often go down to the wharf at night to watch the water ripple and listen to it lapping at the land.
Hi, Miranth :)
Hi Miranth!!!! How are you tonight? Did you have a nice Monday?
I lived at Mill Bay. It's a very pretty place & a great area to grow up in.
RW isn't it astonishing that the simple things we see with our eyes, can almost be the most profoundly beautiful
Agreed, anon.
Goodnight elena and TJ!
TJ - I really liked the sentiment of your 'ramblings' :) But I don't feel I have to put on a facade at all here, though it is the world wide web :) But I can understand you feelings.
BTW - I agree that difficulty lies where power is concentrated, as leaders are only human, though some succeed better than others.
that is a lovely place RW. i'm quite envious :)
Thanks, anon :)
I was only there for three years, but it's still my fave of all the places I've lived at.
