Hollow point.

I will repeat it again and again.
For thirty-two, then thirty-three
time stopped. But, when does it end?
With empty rooms and unfilled beds,
and desperation; the last moments
and too many words left unsaid.

I am copying each name with bold black ink onto plain white card, filling the empty space with the only tangible evidence I have. One at a time I place a card face down before me while I consider each as if it were my own. Then, on the back of each card I write my name.
I can, but they cannot.

So, I will.

Big "What the fuck?" right now.

Just throwing that out there.

Nobody is questioning his motives. My questions were brought up because I do worry about him.

We were talking about how much he means to this place and what would happen if it all were to end.

Apparently you weren't reading what we were discussing. You just jumped into a conversation.

I think it's safe to say that having been here since the beginning that no, I have not forgot his words. But he's someone I consider my friend and I worry about my friends.

Anyway, I'm done talking about this with you.

Mayo, again, I apologize. We were just trying to convey in words how much this place means and apparently it was an epic failure.

Didn't mean to upset you, TJ.

Anonymous said...

Toujours, i completely disagree with you.

There is nothing wrong you questioning things. You seem to have elevated Mayo in an emotional sense. He is no different to anybody else. He is as human as you or i.

Even though this may be his blog, and we are his guests, he is aware by opening this place to all, there will be scrutiny.

Original Punk J said...

I know nobody's asked my opinion, but I'm going to lay it out here anyway.

From what I can see, both Mayo and SS have told us, many times, how much they appreciate and care for us. As we have, in return. Now, unless something REALLY HIDEOUS has happened to change that without anyone's knowledge, I would guess their feelings haven't changed. Just like ours haven't.

I mean, they're both pretty straight-forward about things when the occasion calls for it. Wouldn't you think that we'd know if Mayo or SS had suddenly had a change of heart?

This is where the "going on faith" part comes in.

It's great, it's fine, it's even encouraged, to ask after someone's well-being. That's different, though, than asking if we've helped after he's addressed it already.

Again, just my opinion.

So very true. Mayo has told us how he feels...we either hear his words or we don't.

Anonymous said...

there's nothing wrong with discussing it, but repeatedly questioning his actual statements, forgetting them -- doesn't that devalue them to some extent?

These are words from a person you do not know personally.

You have drawn up a picture, based on his words, but again, he still is to a certain extent, a fictional character to you.

By all means, enjoy them, take what you need from them, but do not invest yourself too much in them.

Here is where you either take things on faith or you don't. I invited a woman how I'd never met or even spoken to on the phone to my home. I invited her to live in my home for almost a week now. The only thing I really knew about her I knew because of her words on this blog. However I took a leap of faith, followed my heart and believed she was the person I was "hearing" on this blog. Well I was right. She's now a sister to me. She's family in "real" life.

I chose to believe Mayo's words are from his heart. Could I be wrong? Of course I could be but you know what? Still gonna take that leap of faith and follow my heart. I believe him to be someone who cares about us. Someone who is still learning about himself just as most of us are still struggling to "find" ourselves.

anima said...

I totally see where everyone is coming from...I really do.

Mustard, Princess, and Solly have been chatting in here all afternoon. Sharing feelings, concerns for our friend Mr. Naise. I understand Elena and TJ's points, but it did seem to come across as a little harsh. I know that was not your intention. Sometimes reassurance is needed or felt like it is needed. Everyone here cares so much for this person and for each other. It's beautful.

"Do not invest yourself too much in them" is so true. It's hard to tell if these words are for us, for someone else, or for his own piece of mind.

.....
I hope I made sense. I'm only trying to help.

♥ to all of you.

Anonymous said...

Now, unless something REALLY HIDEOUS has happened to change that without anyone's knowledge, I would guess their feelings haven't changed. Just like ours haven't.

You were the ones publically trashing SS though and Mayo a few times too so..... maybe they still wonder. It's a valid discussion.

anima said...

Elena,
That was a beautiful post. I think if you had said this first, "Still gonna take that leap of faith and follow my heart. I believe him to be someone who cares about us. Someone who is still learning about himself just as most of us are still struggling to "find" ourselves." That feels amazing to hear.

Anonymous said...

Elena, i am glad that you have developed a friendship with another here.

But i point this out to you, your conversations with her have been far more intimate and less perfunctory. You have REALLY gotten to know her.

All i am saying is, discussion is healthy. Questioning is healthy. In the end. this is a blog, a form of self expression. But do not let this be your only form.

And this is NOT trashing.

elena said...

Thanks Anima

How are you today?

Anonymous said...

I did not intend for my question to lead us here. It was not meant to cause a riff. It was not meant to hurt anyone. It was weighing on my mind, and I thought that I would throw it out there.

So, my apologies to all of you and to Mayo.

elena said...

Anon I did not take you words as trashing.

My whole point is this... Anyone can write anything here. These are, after all, just words. Are they honest or are they lies? How can you really tell? You can't. You either chose to belive them to be true or you don't.

anima said...

I'm okay Elena. I am fighting a kind of scratchy throat and I should not be smoking - but of course I need to smoke! Damn cigarettes, why do I love them so?

Oh and I shouldn't be drinking but I just made myself a whiskey blend. Now I feel a little shittier. I am denying the fact that I might actually be a little sick. Or 'sick' in the head - whichever, or maybe both?!

Do you two have plans for the evening?

anima said...

Mustard, here's a huge *hug*...HUGGGGSSSSS; you are a very beautiful person.

Anon, I didn't take that as 'trashing.' Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Attention all rocker chicks & skeezy-ass band followers!

Casa la Wreck is offering a one-time deal on a pair of Fleuvog boots. They look like this, but are black. They say they're a size 7, but they fit big, so I think they'd fit a 7 and a half to 8 women's foot. They're not exactly narrow in the foot but wouldn't suit a wide foot, and they fit quite small in the calves (the widest part of my calf is 36.5 cm & they just fit me). These boots are practically new (only worn once) and are in excellent condition. They would, in my estimation, due to their hard leather exterior & generally bad-assness, make ideal mosh pit attire.

It has come to my recent attention that due to my developing bunion problem & my desire to nip it in the bud, I should not be wearing these boots (they're a bit narrow for me across the toes, and are therefore rubbing on my toe joints & only aggrivating the condition). They're not doing anybody any good just sitting in a corner of my apartment collecting dust. I've offered them to my rocker girl friends here, but they have proven to be either a) too small in the foot or b) too narrow in the calves for any of them.

So... I am offering these boots free of charge to the first person here who thinks they would fit & would like to give them the loving home they deserve. They're MCR concert stompers if I ever did see any!

mustard do not apologize for having an opinion. you are entitled to one. and i also know your intentions would be never to hurt.

elena said...

Mustard I feel no "riff". I was just stating my opinion. I understand other's have their own opinions. Their own way of looking at things.

It's all-good.

sdock10 said...

Yes, I am sorry that our discussion lead to this. I thought we were doing a pretty good job just explaining how much this blog means to us. I guess we didn't.

I'm sorry to all. Didn't mean to upset anyone.

Anima have to tell you TJ has a sore throat too. Oh no we even shared our germs! LOL

Hope you feel better soon.

ergoproxy said...

good morning everyone.

I see it's deep thoughts again, and I see everyones points, but as in life there are those who can take words to heart with faith and those who repeatedly question and check, that's just human nature, neither is wrong.
me? I believe Mayo has told us and I choose to take it that he meant it, however that doesn't prevent my naturally curious nature keeping a little corner of questioning.
And I do agree with the one in a million from before, I never imagined what would develop from all this. I think we've helped Mayo and SS and many other transient visitors, but mostly we've found real friends and developed and helped ourselves

anima said...

RW, those are some good lookin' boots. I wear a 7 and half. Wonder if they'd fit? My foot is kind of wide. Nice advertisment btw!

resurrected wreck said...

Sorry, Solly :( You could have so kicked ass in those boots if it weren't for your wee feetsies!

elena said...

sdock
what on earth are you apoligizing for? You got nothing to be sorry for. Look I just stated my opinion that was different than yours.

We can't always look at things the same way. There is nothing wrong with that. I have to be true to my feelings about things that's why I said something.

I'm not upset or angry at anyone.

sdock10 said...

Can I clarify one more time that we weren't questioning Mayo's words...we were questioning our abilities to still help him. There is a difference.

I speak only for myself. I wonder if I continue to give Mayo anything useful. Sometimes I feel like I repeat myself over and over and over. Is it wrong to wonder if I give him anything new to work with??

I still hope that he gets as much out of this as I do.

That's all.

Again, I apologize for everything.

resurrected wreck said...

Ta, Anima :D

If you're interested in the boots, take a measurement of the length of your foot, the width of your foot at the widest point, and the widest part of your calf, then get back to me with the results. If it's a match & you'd like them, consider them yours :)

Anonymous said...

Wow, I actually said "riff," didn't I?

Man, oh, man. Goes to show you I write it one too many times per day.

I guess we all know what it was supposed to say. :)

ergoproxy said...

damn RW they're a size too big!
:(

assuming your sizes are like ours and you would send them overseas, which I wouldn't expect you to do anyway, I know what postage is like!

Anonymous said...

sdock dear, if i could help you, it would be to get you to stop apologizing for everything and taking too much responsibility!

sdock10 said...

Elena,

I'm apologizing because what we were discussing was in no way meant to cause a disagreement between any of us. We were just trying to get across our concerns and thoughts. And like I said, we apparently didn't do a good job. I like for Mayo to know how much he means to me. I don't want him to think that I take his words or any of this for granted.

anima said...

"I believe Mayo has told us and I choose to take it that he meant it, however that doesn't prevent my naturally curious nature keeping a little corner of questioning."

Me too. :)

....

TJ has a sore throat too?! Damn, sharing that snickers bar and water made me feel like we were super close...Okay, who was sick first?!

I'm thinking it's the weather. Or maybe it was the sweat mixed with the crazy wind of Kansas. Nah...

Carrie said...

but I thought you meant like, an awesome guitar riff or something, and I was all like, hey, that's always good to cause!

sdock10 said...

Anon,

What can I say? I hate conflict. Especially when that was not our intention. I like a good ol debate as much as the next person, but that is not what this was about at all.

But I do thank you for your words.

elena said...

sdock

Can't speak for Mayo but I can tell you that I still get a hell of a lot out of your words. Please don't ever question that!

resurrected wreck said...

assuming your sizes are like ours and you would send them overseas, which I wouldn't expect you to do anyway, I know what postage is like!

They're about a size 38, or a bit smaller, EP.

I would send them overseas, I send parcels to my nephew in Brissy all the time. But I'd send them surface, as parcels by airmail are pricy.

anima said...

Thanks RW, I'll get back to you on that one!

Solly, I would like to wrap my arms around you, give you the biggest hug and the most sloppiest of kisses. Just because it feels damn good.

sdock10 said...

Elena,

Thank you and know that I feel the same about your words.

Anima,

Kiss away! I am immune to sore throats.

*not really, but wants an Anima kiss really badly

What I'm about to say has nothing to do with anyone here, Mayo, this blog, or anything associated with it.

In my real life, I've been given plenty of reasons to question other's motives, question the actions of others, and more than those two combined, question myself.

It's only natural for me to bring it here because that's who I am. It is not, by any means, me questioning Mayo's words, because I never will. I would not still be here if I doubted him.

But, being the person that I am, it is necessary for me to let those whom I care about, those whom I associate with, know that I appreciate them, that I hope they're doing well.

I know myself too well, and an "I'm doing fine" doesn't always mean you're doing fine. My only intent was to make sure Mayo knew we were still trying to help and still trying to feel useful.

Speaking for myself, I wanted Mayo to know that he is appreciated, that all of the things he does is appreciated. And like I said, you can never be reassured of that too many times.

That's all I have to say, and I'm done discussing it.

resurrected wreck said...

'K, Anima :)

sdock10 said...

Mustard,

Yes, exactly.

ergoproxy said...

aw thanks RW postage is very X'y air mail.
I'm usually a 36 I think but I do have one pair of size 7 boots, so if noone else wants them let me know and I'll measure my foot. BUt I'll be your last resort (as I really don't need any more shoes, they are a bit of a weakness)

I've spent too much of my life giving my all to them and only to be burned so badly. I think I've learned to discount those people pretty quickly. I'm still here - so I know it's all good.

Mayo,

I'm sitting here watching a tribute to Hank Williams on RFDTV. It's classic country night and this show...Lord knows, when it was recorded. It had Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Brenda Lee on it, all doing Hank Williams songs. So anyways, Johnny just performed this song and I just wanted to put the lyrics out for all to read.

Men With Broken Hearts

You'll meet many just like me upon life's busy street
With shoulders stooped and heads bowed low and eyes that stare in defeat
Or souls that live within the past where sorrow plays all parts
Where a living death is all that's left for men with broken hearts
You have no right to be the judge to criticize and condemn
Just think but for the grace of God it would be you instead of him
One careless step a thoughtless deed and then the misery starts
And to those who weep death comes cheap these men with broken hearts
Oh so humble you should be when they come passing by
For it's written that the greatest men never get too big to cry
Some lose faith in love and life when sorrow shoots her darts
And with hope all gone they walk alone these men with broken hearts
You've never walked in that man's shoes or saw things through his eyes
Or stood and watched with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies
Some were paupers some were kings and some were masters of the arts
But in their shame they're all the same these men with broken hearts
Life sometimes can be so cruel that a heart will pray for death
God why must these living dead know pain with every breath
So help your brother along the road no matter where he starts
For the God that made you made them too these men with broken hearts

Niiiiice!

RUM?

Where has all the rum gone?!

resurrected wreck said...

Now we know where all the rum's gone!

It's in the orange juice.

Anonymous said...

I've had neither, but orange juice is really good!

ergoproxy said...

*oops*

HI again mustard

I am going to attempt to make mini choc brownie muffins with chocolate in the middle, I'll let you know how they go!

resurrected wreck said...

Well, I feel like a mixed drink, but the only alcohol I have in the house is rum and whisky.

resurrected wreck said...

No worries, EP :D

Fimble Star said...

ohhh 007, you are innocent though heheheheehe.

nyhoots, big yourself up. i like those teeth you have there ;)

ergoproxy said...

RW both sound pretty icky but I'd go with whisky I don't like rum....oh hang on is it white or dark rum ? white rum may be ok

Fimble Star said...

ergo, i will tell 007 to stalk you ok. then you can see her and her beauty heheheeh

resurrected wreck said...

It's dark Jamaica rum, EP.

I shall try the whisky.

ergoproxy said...

oooh jamaica rum

reminds me of the old joke

"I took my wife on an island holiday"
"Jamaica?"
"No she came of her own accord!"

RW you know the only way I like dark rum is rum dry and lime, if you haven't tried it do, it's really refreshing

JocelynHolly said...

Ergooooooooo!

I added you so I could stalk.. oops.. I mean talk to you.

;)

resurrected wreck said...

*takes a sip*

Orange juice + whisky = quite nice, actually

resurrected wreck said...

Rum dry and lime? I've never heard of it, EP!

I like rum in Hurricanes. And egg nog.

resurrected wreck said...

I may actually sew at home tonight

*gasp!*

I almost never do that!

JocelynHolly said...

Its sooo quiet around Blogtown tonight =]

sdock10 said...

Sew me some pants that fit, RW.

JocelynHolly said...

Yay! Ergo, that makes me smile. =]

resurrected wreck said...

I'm not good with pants, Solly. I don't like sewing in the fly zippers.

However, if you fancy a Regency gown or an Elizabethan stomacher, then I'm your girl!

i am sorry, i have been lost in myspace andnow i am just talking through something. i will be back in a bit. dont go causing any trouble.

anima said...

Totally random. I was just perusing a few website, catching up on a few things, and I thought I would share.

West Memphis Three update

Freedom is hanging in the balance. I believe this is one of the last appeals (I need to look into this more). I've participated in several fundraisers, and it dawned on me that MCR could make a huge impact. Maybe auction off some tickets for their final show. I really wish they would join this cause. Or maybe they have and I just don't know it.

For more info, if anyone wants to help, go here: Website

Thanks you guys. I just had to get it out there. Ahhh, I feel much better now.

Oh, or is that the whiskey? Don't have orange juice, but I'm doing okay. :)

anima said...

*EDIT BUTTON, please*

Hiya PH, it's been forever I feel like... *hugs*

resurrected wreck said...

I just finished assembling my stuffed pasta shells.

*feels accomplished; sits down to enjoy her whisky & orange*

Hi, Anima :D

Carrie said...

Whiskey and orange sounds nastay, just sayin'. We're having a bit of an intermission, Terry had to go pick Al up from teching the play.

anima said...

RW, did you finish painting your toenails? What is up with this place and toenails? LOL!

I find lighter colors to be better, at least for me. Red never looks quite right.

So the whisky/whiskey is quite nice. It's my favorite. Does that make me cool? Nope, not at all. ^_^

Carrie said...

Oh, and so far, the movie is really good, but I am sensing that I better keep the tissue box close.

resurrected wreck said...

I haven't even started painting them, Anima! I wanted to get my cooking done first. Then I shall have a baff, then I shall plunk in a movie and get down to the business of sparkling up my piddies.

resurrected wreck said...

Whiskey and orange sounds nastay, just sayin'.

Actually, it's not bad. 'Course, I didn't make it very strong.

Amyranth said...

A good whisky and a slice of orange on the rim is quite lovely.

anima said...

Carrie, what movie? I must have missed that.

RW, that sounds really good. My husband has yet to fix the bathtub faucet. I can't take baths. :(

(And I say he has yet to fixing it, because I have zero knowledge of the fixing. It's been two years...Do I really need to learn plumbing just to get it done? Nope, not gonna do it.)

How I wish I could take a bath. Painting my toesies I can do. Almost time to break out the summer feet. :)

anima said...

Hi Amyranth!

I had no idea RW liked whiskey. I knew you did! ^_^

How are you? I recall reading something about your friends and some crazy neighborhood stuff. Is everything going okay?

resurrected wreck said...

RW, that sounds really good. My husband has yet to fix the bathtub faucet. I can't take baths. :(

That makes me sad, Carrie :( I love a good soak.

resurrected wreck said...

I had no idea RW liked whiskey. I knew you did! ^_^

I prefer tequila, but I don't have any in the house!

anima said...

Just for fun...Warner removed this one off of youtube. Eyeball put it back up...It makes me very happy.

MCR

Amyranth said...

Hallo Anima!

Yeah, crazy people getting shot in the alleys, and crazy roommates with their crazy ex-boyfriends calling my house at 2AM.

Boy, I'm glad to be here, where it's NORMAL.

-A

Amyranth said...

RW, nothing like a good Cabo Wabo!

-A

resurrected wreck said...

I just bought some gel toe spacers for my bunions today. They look like birth control devices.

resurrected wreck said...

Cabo Wabo??

Anonymous said...

Bah!

Warner tried to take it down and got served?!

That makes me giddy like a little girl.

Hey dudes.

JocelynHolly said...

Anima! I missed You! sorry I'm off searching around the internet. =]

And I just nearly burnt down my house.

How are you? =]

Amyranth said...

resurrected wreck said...

Cabo Wabo??

TEQUILA!

-A

anima said...

Cabo Wabo Tequilla, not bad. A good one is hard to find. I do like to take a sip now and again.

Overall, I am not good with tequilla. It is kind of like whiskey for most people. It makes me angry.

RW, take care of those feet. A little bunnion is okay, normal. This may sound really strange, but I stretch them out...my toes I mean. You can't let that big toe get comfortable going inward.

Damn, this would be the perfect conversation for an anon invasion. Appliances, toes, bunnions....awesome.

Amyranth said...

Sake is the only alcohol that makes me mean.

I get gabby on Whiskey, sleepy on scotch and beer. A good wine makes me wanna eat and eat.

Not a fan of rum, really. Vodka is a party drink for me.

And Tequila is an Arkham Horror Special. After we defeat the Great Old One, we dance around the kitchen and yell "TEQUILA!" and do a shot.

anima said...

Mustard, it totally pissed me off when I saw Warner removed the video due to 'copyright' ... I wanted to laugh. I am so happy that Eyeball stepped up. I love this video. It should be seen. Fucking pretentious labels. In all honesty, and I think I've said this before, I hate Warner. I really do. I'm sure the people are good, but that business blows.

I digress. :)

resurrected wreck said...

I've never heard tequila called that before, A!

resurrected wreck said...

And I just nearly burnt down my house.

0_0

That sentence requires some details, methinks!

Anonymous said...

I detest majors.

I dunno all the mumbo jumbo that Warner owns, but I sure as hell wouldn't think they had the right to remove a video that was made while on Eyeball unless Eyeball transferred the rights to Warner somehow. Not sure if that can be done though. Pretty sure Eyeball will own it until 2096. Not positive though, but as you said, I digress. :)

anima said...

Amyranth, excellent description. It's crazy how different it is for everyone.

Beer = sleepy, unless I'm doing yard work.

Wine = giddy, followed by sleepiness.

Margaritas = used to be yummy, now it is too sweet. I get sleepy.

Whiskey = perfect.

Vodka = perfect/yet not fond of the taste. Except for a really dirty martini. Gotta be feeling it.

Rum = I do love rum. Second choice to whiskey.

Damn, this could go on and on...

Amyranth said...

LOL, RW!

I'll have to explain sometime.

But, I gotta run. Another 6am shift tomorrow means it's almost my bedtime :/

Goodnight lovelies! Goodnight Mayo and SS!

-A

resurrected wreck said...

Eyeball's sticking it to them, eh? Good for them!

I admit it, I like to root for the little guy.

anima said...

Hi PH! What do you mean you almost burned down the house? I must have missed that, did I?

resurrected wreck said...

Have a good night, A! Chat again later :)

Scritch a pet for me!

ergoproxy said...

oh really I think I tried tequila the other night ( i was given a shot of something and I had a sip before I put it away (driving) and it was vile!

I've had margaritas before but never straight, but I can't be sure what it was, seeing as I doubt at that point the bride knew what she'd asked for!

PH! what did you do??

and

*passes around plate of mini choc brownie muffins that worked!*

ergoproxy said...

night amyranth! sweet dreams

resurrected wreck said...

Beer - can't drink it. Can't even stand the smell of it.

Wine - gives me headaches

Vodka - not crazy about the taste, but can have it as a mixer (such as in Caesars) as long as not too much is added

Rum - like it, but it gives me hangovers like you wouldn't believe

Tequila - has never given me a hangover. Also, it is the only hard alcohol I can drink straight.

Whisky - I use this occasionally as a mixer. I kinda feel about it the way I feel about vodka.

Amaretto - love it!

Bailey's - also love it!

JocelynHolly said...

Anima, I was making chicken fingers, and failed to acknowledge the presence of a tea towel in the oven door. Next thing I knew my sister was telling me i was an idiot and my upstairs filled with a thin layer of smoke.

=] Nothing too big. Just don't ever let me cook.

resurrected wreck said...

Ooooo! Thank you, EP! :D

*helps herself to a delicious-looking mini chocolate brownie muffin*

anima said...

Mustard, I agree. And I don't know all the details either. The video I posted on my holiday blog said it was removed by Warner, specifically. I wrote in another blog that it was total bullshit (as you just said) because I knew there was no way it was not owned by Warner. The fact that Eyeball posted it makes me believe they didn't sell it to Warner. *wipes brow in relief*

I still wonder how long their contract is with Warner. As my music guru, do you happen to know? :)

resurrected wreck said...

PH: >_<

toujours said...

hey everyone -- man, i haven't watched that video for about forever. that was fun. :)

btw, mayo -- elena bought me a "cherry mash". it's pretty good. it's basically a little chocolate and cherry bomb of a candy bar.

(i swear, i've eaten more candy this week than i have all year.)

got lots to do tonight to get ready for tomorrow, but elena and i will be hanging around -- so one more night of laverne & shirley, and then...

*sigh*

JocelynHolly said...

Amaretto = Love

toujours said...

YESH!

i never get to be on top.

;)

Carrie said...

The movie was good, not too much with the crying, it had a pretty good ending.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, one would think that if Warner removed it then Eyeball put it back up, they (Eyeball) still retains the copyrights to the work.

As for their contract with Warner, I have no clue. That's their bizznezz. That's between them and the big dudes.

;)
