Away from here my soul.

The clouds have dropped
below the horizon and
swallowed me whole.
Now, I am not able to see
I have nowhere to go.
And when I get there
the path has been dozed over,
it happened while I slept.
I like it better this way,
because uncertainty is exciting.
And I am tired
of well worn routes.
So, I take the lead
only for myself.
And when I get there
I will know,
and when I get there
I will know, and
when I get there, I will
know.

(Don’t be afraid)

p.s. where does it go? where is it from? what does it leave?

Good morning Ergo, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you'll feel better :)

Bella, concerning fangirls, I feel the same. Why don't we both punch some of them together? Lol. I'm not sad to say, but my days will mcr are coming to an end. I'm done with the band. And I'm not sorry about it. Finito. Now I must stop before this talk will make me feel blah.

Damn, I'm hungry.

Except for the fact that Gerard was single for about five minutes between Kat and Eliza or maybe not even that because he "knew" Eliza (yeah KNEW), while he was with Kat.

So he's either lying or saying that he never missed either of them while he was away when he wrote that song.

Even though he used to say that he missed them too.

Hello Kapunua ... How are you?
I have seen that it is true..some of those idioms...do hold water..only sometimes... ;)

Anonymous said...

This is the sad thing that happened today. It's long, and it's really sad, so do feel free to skip over it.

My friend Jenn and I had to go out on a call to pick up a dog from an old lady who'd said the dog had a stroke. Her grandsons told us that we were to examine the dog and treat it. But when we got there, she told us differently.

As she sat on her little back porch rockign chair with her walking stick by her side, she described what instead sounded like a series of seizures. The dog had collapsed three times in a day, foaming at the mouth and, inher words, "soiling all over the floor. Well, I live alone," she said, "and I cleaned it up by myself." The the dog had gotten confused and walked off her property too quick for her to catch and stop him. Her grandsons had found it lying in a ditch th enext block over and brought it back, putting it in he rbarn with some water before they had to return to work.

She showed us to the barn where we found her dog already almost half dead. I picked up the dog and started walking out, then the lady's frail little leg got stuck in some fishing line and she almost tripped.

Outside, she took some time to pet the dog and say goodbye while I held him, and she started talking. She said that she had recently lost her daughter, and now she was losing her dog too, so she knew she was going to be lonely, with her grandsons all grown and everything. She pet the dog and thanked him for his seventeen years of friendship. (Seventeen years!) She said, "You were my best friend the whole time." Then she told us that in the days leading up to the "strokes," his eyes had gotten really big and really bright. "Like yours," she said, looking at me. (She also added that "It looked like there was no one at home there," which honestly I laughed about later, because was she still comparing him to me? O_O )

Jenn and I were all right up until we got the dog in the car and started backing out of her driveway. We both looked back at her and that's when she started crying. She stood there in her little driveway, leaning with one hand on her walking stick, and then she just started sobbing and wiping her eyes with her free hand. What really got us both going though was that right before we turned, she waved goodbye. That little gesture of farewell was it for both of us.

The two of us are always very jokey and light-hearted and snarky together but we didn't even know what to say. I just wanted to go to the shelter and bring the lady a new dog, like that second.

Honestly, I've seen some gruesome, sad, nasty, gross, alarming, terrible things there, but in terms of sheer pathos, this was the worst.

Anonymous said...

Hi NJ. Well all idioms hold true sometimes, but there isn't any reason for it. There's no divine karma that's going to even it all out. When bad things happen to bad people, it's just because bad things happen to everybody sometimes.

Or to quote a song lyric, "There's no justice in the world, and there never was." ;)

That makes me so sad.

And for her dog to be her only friend, I can't even imagine. Especially after losing her daughter? It's just heartbreaking.

I'm sorry. I was crying and so it's only fair that you guys were sad with me. ;D

I hope her grandsons come around to take care of her, maybe get her another dog. Not as a replacement, but just as company.

I'm always real good with euthanasias and so I get called to assist with them a lot. I know this might be hard for some to believe, but grieving people seem to like me a lot. (Last year in fact I was offered a job as a funeral director because I "seem sympathetic." O_O ) However it's always worse with elderly people. This is for so many reasons, primarily because many of them are widowed or alone to begin with. Also because it seems so ominous, you know? And they just make me feel so sad.

Anonymous said...

Yes, that I think is the reason.

Remember that time I told you about the elderly man and dropping his food on the ground? That's exactly how it felt to read this.

Tranquilize

Time it tells living in my home town,
Wedding bells they begin easy
Live it down, baby don't talk that much,
Baby knows, but baby don't tease me.
In the park we could go walking,
Drown in the dark or we could go sailing
On the sea

Always here, always on time
Close call, was it love or was it just easy
Money talks when people need shoes and socks,
Steady boys, I'm thinking she needs me

I was just sipping on something sweet
I don't need political process

I got this feeling that they're gonna break down the door
I got this feeling they they're gonna come back for more
See I was thinking that I lost my mind
But it's been getting to me all this time
And it don't stop dragging me down

Silently reflection turns my world to stone
Patiently correction leaves us all alone
And sometimes I'm a travel man
But tonight this engine's failing

I still hear the children playing

Kick the can, kick the can, skip and blackjack
Steal a car and ring a round-rosey,
Rock and roll, candyland, boogeyman,
Run away and give me your sneakers

Acid rain, when Abel looked up at Cain
We began the weeping and wailing
A hurried high from pestilence, pills and pride,
It's a shame, we could of gone sailing
But heaven knows,
Heaven knows everything
Tranquilize

I got this feeling that they're gonna break down the door
I got this feeling they they're gonna come back for more
See I was thinking that I lost my mind
But it's been getting to me all this time
And it don't stop dragging me down

Silently reflection turns my world to stone
Patiently correction leaves us all alone
And sometimes I'm travel man
But tonight this engine's failing

I still hear the children playing
Dead beat dancers come to us and stay

Cause i don't care where you've been
And I don't care what you've seen
We're the ones who still believe
And we're looking for a page
In that lifeless book of hope
Where a dream might help you cope
With the Bushes and the bombs
A-re, Tranquilized

This song has played in my head and on my cd player all fucking day!

Trying to figure lyrics out and not being able to know the subject pains me terribly, so I had to ask.

And I was like, "Oh, okay!"

So, I guess it was, in essence, no one according to Gerard.

You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I'll always love

But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

First there was the one who challenged
All my dreams and all my balance
She could never be as good as you

You should be the one I'll always love

mustard I remember you asking that, I think a lot of songwriters just write generic things, if it comes to represent something for them at a later date I suppose they accept that.

Hey did you guys hear James Blunt broke a pinkie finger stage diving at his concert!
1) why would he stage dive? not quite his music's style
2) you reckon someone did it deliberately to make him shut up!

apparently he said he can't play piano but can still play his guitar. So you reckon they're out to break more fingers next concert?

Hello Human Beings and various other life forms.

The current new song count is up to 12. Can you frickin believe it??? We're still writing away and starting to figure out all the more advanced details of the forth (and 4th) coming Taking Back Sunday album. Details like who will produce it? Where will we record it? Just who exactly is playing the guitar? Am I wearing pants?

--- right. now that I have your attention (and by no means as a way to bring you down) I would like to talk about something that is very important to me.
I recently became more aware of the situation in Darfur. While this has been covered in the news and you may have heard about it, the depth of the violence and unrest overwhelmed me. TBS will be participating with Dream For Darfur to try and do our part to bring awareness to this issue and help where we can. To find out about what is happening there and what you can do, please visit DreamforDarfur.org. I recommend starting at the 'background' section.
Just because this is taking place far away and you dont see it nightly on the news doesnt mean it isnt happening or that people dont need your help.

Thank You
Matt

Yay for new music!

Double yay for the cause they will be supporting.

I'm gonna check it out, help do something.

apparently he said he can't play piano but can still play his guitar. So you reckon they're out to break more fingers next concert?

LOLZ!!

Guys, it's really easy to navigate that page and send emails. They even write out an email for you to send. (I erased it and wrote my own, but still.) So, it's a really good web page, give it a whirl!

Er, make that "karma" quote

My way home is through me.

I would never give anyone else that burden or control.

April 15, 2008 7:17 PM

You have an interesting perspective on that..I guess some people do have control issues..some do not...as for me persoanlly,
I dont think of it as "control" I never have..if two people really care for and love each other..then it is totally voluntary on both parties involved..IMO

Anonymous said...

Whatchoo talkin' bout Princess? O_o

Anonymous said...

Ummm, RW, but you let me control you all the time. O_O

Smok I had to read that 3 times before I got it!

James Blunt. Snap. ^_^

James Blunt's voice makes my ears want to die.

I just can't listen to his music.

resurrected wreck said...

To each their own, nj anon. I was just stating that I take the responsibility for my own happiness.

Smoke said...

I like some of his stuff but I have to be in the mood to want to get drunk and cry. ^_^

Which, honestly, doesn't happen very often.

SMOK DOES NOT CRY!

ergoproxy said...

lol smoke! the audience just couldn't take it anymore!

I'd rather think of it as sharing a burden, working your way home together

Anonymous said...

You will one day, Smoke.

Just wait 'til that little boy of yours goes on his first date, graduates high school, walks down the aisle.

You'll still be wiping grime off his face with your spitty thumb, but it will be different.

Smoke said...

Mustard! Stop it! O_O

Right now he's singing James Blunt. HA!

OMG, I wish you could hear him.

resurrected wreck said...

I'd rather think of it as sharing a burden, working your way home together.

But it doesn't have to be a burden, does it? I prefer to think of it more as a personal journey. No one knows what "home" is to me except me.

ergoproxy said...

he can't be any worse than James Blunt, Smoke.

Record him he could be a star!!

(must admit, first hearing he was ok but radio/advertising and phone music has destroyed him, plus his songs are too smoooshy)

Anonymous said...

Aw, he's singing?! Crazy boy!

Anonymous said...

Calling all meffers!

This is not a drill.

I repeat, this is not a drill.

Smoke said...

Yeah, I turned around and did a really bad impression of 'you're beautiful' and he goes 'it's truuuueeee' in fo'real James Blunt voice.

I laughed out loud. He is pure entertainment. I swear to God.

You should hear him do an impression of Gerard on "The Sharpest Knives". That's what he always called it.

He's funny, funny, funny.

I'm not sure what to make of this, or to even say about it, but if you're Christian you might want to skip it.

Unless you have a good sense of humor and perspective.

Basically it's a manga out of Japan. It's set in Croatia ( O_O ) with a female Jesus and a Mexican Satan who calls up pokeman-like attacks.

And it's called "LET'S BIBLE!"

ergoproxy said...

RW I don't think of it that way, just using the term you used originally.

resurrected wreck said...

I think my point has been missed.

Ah, well.

ergoproxy said...

Rw see I never viewed the song as someone else taking responsibility for him finding his way home, I always assumed it was because what he saw as home included that person.

Anonymous said...

I got you, RW.

What the hell? I mean I know we're chatting on AIM about Mayo being all hoover and whatnot, but gosh, did it die in here or what? ;D

resurrected wreck said...

I went for a shower without telling anyone.

But I'm back now.

Uh... hoover?

Anonymous said...

You mean you didn't tell me? WTF, I thought we were ONE SOUL.

resurrected wreck said...

Sorry, K, I forgot.

You're supposed to leave me a Sharpied note about things like that.

Besides, if we were one soul then you should know things like that without me telling you, shouldn't you??

I've been thinking a lot about Silence Of The Lambs and how it's my favorite movie. You know, that was the movie that taught me the meaning of "cinematography" and even though I suck at it, I can see it.

Also I've said from the start that Mayo has reminded me of Hannibal Lecter, with all the riddles and stuff. All the double-speak and cleverness. ^_^

I think we have rhythm, Dr. Sock.

sdock10 said...

Mayo reminds me of Patrick Bateman.

Anonymous said...

I was very thrilled to see that Mayo didn't have the voice of Jack Nicholson.

Because, for sure, that dude creeps the hell out of me. I can only imagine what he was in another life.

sdock10 said...

*wipes sweat off brow*

That was a close one.

Anonymous said...

Mayo's way too self-contained for that though, don't ya think? To be The American Psycho?

No, Mayo doesn't do the whole psychotic break, murderous rage, killing Jared Leto thing. He's much too subtle.

Instead Mayo sits in his cell listening to classical music, drawing pictures and speaking riddles in a hushed tone.

O_o

Anonymous said...

Sdock, you're just not terribly important to me.

Anonymous said...

Hello Clarice.

sdock10 said...

I dunno, Jules....maybe there's a side to Mayo we don't know about.

WHAT?

That made no sense.

Anonymous said...

I don't wanna see the other side of Mayo.

Perfectly fine with this one.

sdock10 said...

Well, it would just be the other side profile view, Mustard.

Duh.....

Anonymous said...

There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

Anonymous said...

No! He covets. That is his nature. And how do we begin to covet, Clarice? Do we seek out things to covet? Make an effort to answer now.

Anonymous said...

Harty har!

Hey, you never know. That could be Mayo's "bad side."

Bwuahahah.

You won't accept a guy's tongue in your mouth and you're gonna eat that?

Anonymous said...

We've tried to study him, of course, but he's much too sophisticated for the standard tests.

Anonymous said...

But I thought the "yourself" reference was too hokey for Lecter, so I figured he's from Baltimore, and I looked in the phone book, and there's a "Your Self Storage" facility, right outside of downtown Baltimore, sir.

Anonymous said...

Mayo, your profile changes sound kind of naughty.

Anonymous said...

Listen carefully. Look deep within yourself, Clarice Starling. Go seek out Miss Mofet, an old patient of mine. M-o-f-e-t.

Anonymous said...

Hester Mofet. It's an anagram, isn't it, Doctor? Hester Mofet, "The rest of me". "Miss the rest of me," meaning that you rented that garage?

Hi. It's damn cold here too. I'm on Long Island by the way.

Sorry, was just attributing to Mayo the words and inflections of a fictional psycho genius. ;)

First principles, Clarice. Simplicity. Read Marcus Aurelius. Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature? What does he do, this man you seek in my pants?
