DEATH WARMED OVER

or, my life…spent.

That last revolution left me dazed. The same scenery flashed and repeated in an orbital rhythm. My environment moved too quickly for me to identify solid form and everything around me slurred into a meander. Each day turned from brief respite into swift departure. I felt my gut at my feet and my head in a fog.

Towards the end, I heeled my words into the ground in a desperate attempt to persuade the fucking thing to stop. I hung on. My knees were raw from fighting the spin and the tops of my shoes were caked with the filth that surrounded my craft. Finally, I let go.

I was spun out, stopped; a playground massacre.

What a sight, covered in dust and dirt, sweat and blood. But, I was not alone. I managed to attract quite a malignant clutch. And while I lay there, words were unwound and lifted from their purpose by nasty little hands and then, repeatedly passed along, shoved into pockets, and spent on cheap ice cream concessions.

Now, after a few months in circulation, it is impossible to determine that they are counterfeit. They all spend the same, right?

I wrote that a while ago. It feels different to me now. Different, but still...relevant. Well, I am off.

p.s. I am at a distance; you are in proximity…but here, we maintain satellite and If you sspirit through here, “Thank you.”

Well, here's what I think, sometimes I don't think we try our best or our hardest. We get complacent...we have a tendancy to say "fuck that, I don't want to do that anymore. nobody is listening anyway."

Does that make it right? No. But we get lazy or maybe we think we can make people take notice by doing a complete 360.

This world makes it so fucking easy to give up and say..."you know what, I don't want to worry about that anymore. I am just going to worry about me. You worry about everyone else."

Speaking only for myself of course.

I have a fave marshmallow recipe, A, that's super easy to make and only takes a few ingredients:

1 package of mini marshmallows
1 package of chocolate chips (or butterscotch chips, or any other flavour you like)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter

Melt the butter and peanut butter over a double boiler. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips. When that's cooled down some, add in the marshmallows. Spread this mixture into a pan. Let chill at least one hour. Cut into squares & enjoy!

I put these in Christmas baskets when I do my holiday baking. They're always a big hit.

Amyranth said...

RW, my mom does that too! I think she calls it butterscotch confetti!

I should figure out a way to add real scotch to it.

I am going to make this short tonight. It's getting later by the minute and I need to take my ass to bed. I think I talked out a lot of my stuff earlier today in our discussion. I hope you stuck around for all that. It was great having a talk like that in here again. I think we all needed it. So, thank you, again....for your words, your time, and your space.

I would like to talk music with you one day. I hope you will share with us some of your faves. What's your in the car driving song? What's song makes you cry? What song makes you want to beat the shit out of someone? What song makes you have hope? What song makes you feel desperate? What song takes you back to a special place in time?

In time...until then...

Goodnite, Mayo. I hope you have restful sleep and wonderful dreams.

Back from tai chi which is harder than Kung Fu, for realz yo. I don’t know how those old people do it all the time. O_O

I just did a quick scan to catch up and the one thing that caught my eye the most was the Hitchhiker’s guide book vs. movie thing. And yes, neither the TV show nor the movie did it any kind of justice. They were both hard to watch.

Also Solly asked Mayo:

What's song makes you cry?

The one by Lush. But there are more, maybe? Or not? ^_^

Then Fim said: mayo - seriosuly watch these lovelies. you may find a fire all up in your crib.

“All up in your crib” made me laugh pretty meffing hard just now. :D

Mayo and SS,

Love to you both, please take care.

Love Rescue Me
U2

Love rescue me
Come forth and speak to me
Raise me up and don't let me fall
No man is my enemy
My own hands imprison me
Love rescue me

Many strangers have I met
On the road to my regret
Many lost who seek to find themselves in me
They ask me to reveal
The very thoughts they would conceal
Love rescue me

And the sun in the sky
Makes a shadow of you and I
Stretching out as the sun sinks in the sea
I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
Said, love rescue me

In the cold mirror of a glass
I see my reflection pass
See the dark shades of what I used to be
See the purple of her eyes
The scarlet of my lies
Love rescue me

Yea, though I walk
In the valley of shadow
Yea, I will fear no evil
I have cursed thy rod and staff
They no longer comfort me
Love rescue me

Sha la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...ha la la...
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...sha la la
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la...
I said love, love resuce me

I said love
Climb up the moutains, said love
I said love, oh my love
On the hill of the son
I'm on the eve of a storm
And my word you must believe in
Oh, I said love, rescue me
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah...

Yeah I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
I said love rescue me

I've conquered my past
The future is here at last
I stand at the entrance
To a new world I can see
The ruins to the right of me
Will soon have lost sight of me
Love rescue me

Mayo:

I'm outta here, dude. My eyes are two letters away from bulging out of their sockets, taking with them the sights they're sore for.

And then, for a few moments, they are looking somewhere else.

It's a victory, you know? To get them off of your trail, to lead them through high water, to throw them for a loop. When you can do it, you know you've made the big time.

Only you haven't.

I get so tired of thinking about this. It used to be really bad, worse than it is now, but that's most likely due to the fact that I was dwelling on it and not talking about it with anyone.

I'm not myself, but I don't even know who my real self is. It's always something other than who you are, at least in your own head.

I've wanted them back from the person I reluctantly gave them to. I asked, and they granted me full access, but I hesitated. I've been hesitating for nearly two years. What they have are the words of a lost, lonely, frustrated individual. Though I want to reread them and go back to the place I was when they were written, I'm scared I will get stuck.

I'm scared I will find that I'm still that person.

"...Always half way inside the world in my head. I only know that you'll never know me."

I wonder if this is what he deals with on a daily basis, and if it is, I wish on every star for it to stop.

Goodnight, Mayo. Peaceful dreams.

SS:

I hope that the world is treating you well! Risking sounding corny here, but I'll take it.

Listen. That's all you have to do. Listen to people, and watch how they react. You can tell a lot of things. If someone needs you, do your very best to be there. They may treat you like shit, they may screw you over, but I will bet that they'll never forget "this one time" when you both sat in complete silence and had one of the best conversations.

Word of advice for you instead of the other way around.

Have a nice evening, and sleep like a baby. Night, buddy.

goodnight L sweet dreams!

Kapunua I have his biography he was a fascinating man!

fallback guy is a bit creepy, either he's hoping it'll fail, or he's going to "wait for her" which is sad for him.
Plus it's kinda like "oh well if this is too hard I'll just let go and take this one"
Then a gain some people reconnect if it happens they are both single again....

PH!!!

Sometimes we do things in order to divert peoples attention...like throwing our shadow on the wall.

And then, for a few moments, they are looking somewhere else.

A not so sophisticated defense mechanism.

that was 3:30 and mayo's profle said 3:30 only

Mayo and BlogBelieve,

Okay, so I am still awake. I tried/have been trying for the last hour, but my dude does this herky jerky thing with his legs. He will not be the fuck still. And he does it like every 30 fucking seconds (I know because I watched the clock). Lord knows, I have a hard enough time falling asleep as it is and now this...I had to just get up. Otherwise, the thought of holding a pillow over his head until he stopped squirming was too much of an option. So here I am, again.

Mayo, yeah I remember the Lush song that you said made you cry. I even downloaded it. Surely there are a couple more.

Should I go try to lay down again? Have I give him enough time to go his ass to sleep? And I mean like fully asleep not half assed asleep?

Errrrrrrrrr....motherfucker, this sucks. I even tried the couch, and I was like almost asleep and then he got up to go to the bathroom and that woke me up.

JocelynHolly said...

Ergo, I am good. Just exhausted. And putting songs on iTunes.

Emily is great. I made her look like a fish, and she smiled at me. =] I love her smile, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

My sister sprained her ankle (Emily's mommy) so I've been running around getting stuff for her and helping out.

How're you KD, Ergo? =]

JocelynHolly said...

Sdock, I find that sitting infront of my computer for a little bit makes me tired. =]

(Ph's useless attempt to make Solly stay. =])

I just realized that little rant I just spewed all over the blog is enough to get me sent to Crazytown in some places. Oh well, oh well, oh well......Did I mention he is off work this week? Why the fuck is he asleep and not me? Selfish bastard!!!

Sock

I'd just suffocate him. Or push him on the floor, or kick him until he wakes up. Or grab him by the pubes.

I treasure my sleep.

What Lush song?

JocelynHolly said...

Sdock, I send you a zillion hugs in return.

I find that listening to Dashboard Confessional helps me get to bed quicker. =]

Ergo, I hope she recovers quickly, we have a concert to go to on Tuesday!! =]

ergoproxy said...

sdock that is not crazy at all. I cannot go to sleep if I'm being touched, you know that whole movie "fall asleep in each others arms"? I find it so uncomfortable and they move all the time!, and I cannot breathe someone elses air, like if they breathe out, I feel like I'm suffocating - I'm such a romantic if I want to fall asleep! lol

sdock10 said...

I sure hope so, Ergo. If not, bad for me.

Amy, one time Mayo put the lyrics up to a Lush song....when you guys were talking about what songs riled you up and what not....let me see if I can remember the one. I have it on a CD.

The Lush song that was put up the night you guys were all talking about which songs made you cry and which ones riled you up and what not....

Light From a Dead Star

He lives his life in a world full of women
And he takes what he wants from their love
And he throws the rest away
I cling to him and pray
But still he slips away
And now it's just too late
To wish him back again.
She won't put up with this life so she leaves him
And she finds someone else, falls in love
And she travels far away
I say that it's ok
And swallow all my pain
And now it's just too late
To wish her back again.
They left me here on my own in a nightmare
And I just can't forgive any more
So I smile and turn away
Don't listen when they say
They wish that I could stay
And now it's just too late
To wish me back again.

Amyranth said...
