The sincerest form of flattery.

Seasonal Affect

Three months ahead
It gets deep.
The measure remains
Uncharted
While dirt stains

Underneath, waiting warmth
Will rise again.
Spirits lift eyes
Renewed
To the skies

A blazing rage
Hammers shoulders
Covered in paste.
Saved
In the haste

A death produced
Yellow orange glow.
To waste away
Piled
For another day.

Because I am feeling rather optimistic.

p.s. do not be fooled by imitation spread.

hey BC!

I was chosen to be a 2008 ambassador for the company I work for; meaning I'll get to travel around to different cities and make some extra cash! It should be fun!

ALIVE! said...

Hello everyone. Very long time since I've been on, I know. I've managed to break my computer....Again.
Mayo,
Are you spirits up? Hope so. Spring is coming, it makes me excited to see that the cold and bitterness of winter will soon be gone. Time to watch everything become new again, and wake up in the morning and feel the dew on the grass.....That's always the best part for me.
You can probably fool me quite easily.....I'm not the brightest light bulb in the bunch. But I try to look at things with good judgment and help to the best of my ability. Maybe someday it could help you?
I'm going to ramble now. You know something that's funny about seasons? In the fall, when everything's dying, it's so beautiful. It's so stale, and radiant, I love it. Never figured out why though....
Blogland...What a strange place. It's like life, but everything is heightened. Kind of like when you stand on something, and feel like you're higher than you actually are. It's a crazy feeling. I remember when I was very young, and I used to climb this maple tree with my friend, and then we would have to come down, because it was time to go. The drop from this particular branch seemed to never end when you were dangling from it...And if you were on the ground, you laughed at the person hanging there, scared to let go, because the drop was actually, what? Like two feet? So you would yell "Just let go already! You're taking too long!!" And if you were hanging, and you finally let go, this incredible amount of relief and accomplishment came over you. Even though you only fell for about two seconds. That's what blogland is like. Sort of, I guess. For me at least. Anyway Mayo, and everyone, thank you for takign the time to read this.

the version of the four seasons that i've always listened to is by the prague chamber orchestra, but i'll certainly check out vanessa mae. there's another version i'd dearly love to get, but it's hard to find -- called kyoto vivaldi, it's the four seasons done all with tradtional japanese intruments. it's the most beautiful thing.

Mostly I'm so pleased that you're enjoying the story. It's such a bit of fun for me and I'm glad if it's making other people smile, too. :D

Umm, I love koto music, well, I love most Japanese instruments. I've actually got a ridiculous amount of Japanese CD's (I admit: i listen to J pop as well O_o ) so Kyoto Vivaldi sounds right up my alley. I'll look that up.

Oh man, I think you'd love Vanessa Mae. If you get the chance, check out her version of "Storm." It's an eargasm.

Well, I'm off to bed everyone! I'll catch you all on DM tmorrow.

SSS: When you come around again, I have two fantastic jokes to tell you. Have a lovely night!

Mayo:

In case you're still about--I've often wondered where I would be had I not come across this place. I've asked myself most days of the week.

I never have an answer either. I'm never sure. I just know that when I'm here, I'm getting closer to the ultimate goal of okay. I never get there, but I get closer.

Some days aren't as good as others. Those days usually consist of us not talking about Ray Toro, like, at least once ;). Only kidding. But, in all seriousness, some days here just aren't pleasant. But, somehow, some way, something always happens, either you post or our friend shows up, and everything falls right back into place.

I just want to thank you, from way deep down, for letting us stay here, for letting us continue to be a part of this. Even though I can't ever come up with that answer, I know that I would be much less happy had I not met these souls.

What I wrote for solely for you tonight was part of some of the things I was and am dealing with. I didn't know who to say it to, so I said it to you. I hope it finds you well, and you take it to heart, and you remain just as you are. Changing for anyone only makes you feel worse. I know.

So, anyway. Thank you for everything you've done and for everything you haven't done. It really can't be replaced.

Goodnight, Mayo. Sleep well.

I won't ruin it for you, but it gets more interesting from there.

Amy, yeah, it is sad, and the worst part is, we don't know when the next set will be released. It sucks. As far as Spaceboy and Rumor is concerned, I have to agree with you. I think they were involved as well, or maybe they will be soon?

One of my cats just wanted out. I opened the door and suddenly the cat took one look at the snow and changed his mind! Can't blame him. My daughter said that when she was driving home the snow coming at the windshield made it look like she was going into hyperspace.

ergoproxy said...

alcohol has a boiling point of about 78C (172F)so as long as stuff is heated higher than that it's gone, so in risotto it all cooks out.
Anything that boils will cook it out but low heat won't

sounds like a waste of good alcohol to me...

Amyranth said...

Mya said...

BAHAHAHHA!!

Yes, there is. Depending on how you cook it it can be as little as half a cup, or as much as half a bottle.

Mine usually goes:
Some for you, some for me, some for you, some for me, some for me, mum for see, me me me....

And then I'm drunk.

Yep. I love cooking.

-A

ergoproxy said...

mya you usually add it after the rice is fried then the stock.

(but if you pour it in at the end it'll be there!)

ooooh yum!!

mya - always cook with a glass handy!

you guys ever seen a british chef called Keith Floyd? He always sloshed wine while he cooked, I'm sure he got blotto on tv!

and a cat sliding sideways would be hilarious

Anonymous said...

Amy, I never had risotto. Ever O_o

Anonymous said...

Isn't risotto like a rice shaped pasta?

Anonymous said...

blotto? There's me a new one!

Amyranth said...

Mya, it's hard to argue with pate that has 2 TBSP of Bourbon in it.

Also, no, it's not pasta, it's arborio rice, a short fat grain, that is incredibly glutinous. When it's cooked it releases that gluten and makes the rice creamy, but not sticky. Then you add parmesean cheese for flavour. It is one of the best dishes I've ever made.

-A

ergoproxy said...

no that's risoni - rice pasta, you make risotto with arborio raice it's little and very starchy

ergoproxy said...

people recon risotto is hard but it's not, takes some time but it's worth it.

Ergo, you aussies have tons in common with us Maritime Canadians.

Mya, my risotto never takes any less than 45 minutes. I've timed it to ALMOST exact, but I find risotto to be a two person thing. I try my best to prep everything first, but I do need an extra set of hands from time to time.

Also, I wasn't confident about doing it until I saw it on a cooking show here. It's BEYOND easy, but you need patience.

oh mya you took the link away, but I may say she looks awesome!

Chilli Crab is dead easy

green crab pieces, like clean it and then chop it, fry them in 1/3 c oil 2 mins and remove (to change colour)
add to oil 1 tsp minced ginger, 2 tsp minced garlic 1/2 c tomato ketchup 1 tbs sambal olek (or minced chilli - more or less) I tbs brown sugar 1/3 c water cook 3 mins add crab and cook 8 mins. It's also just a great chilli sauce (if you do shrimp though cook them separately and add at the end if you put them in the sauce it goes runny)

hey mayo,

that really was kind of startling to be nattering on tonight and suddenly see your comment when i posted mine. you must have secret passageways all throughout the place, huh? *grin*

my personal theme these past two years has been one of transformation. do you know the tarot? i've had the fool card up in my devotional space ever since the divorce, to remind me to step off the cliff, happily and willingly. i stayed on the safe paths too long. and i think i'm actually getting the hang of it now, at last.

but i marvel that transformation is played out here, too, where i hadn't expected to see it. i feel it in myself, and can trace so much of it back to this place and the alchemy of blogbelieve. i see it in others, as well. and of course, we all see it in you.

i don't think what is happening here is transformation the way we normally think of it -- the make-over, changing one thing into another (better) thing, a magician's trick. i think it's transformation the way an egg is transformed into a chick, the way a seed is transformed into green growth and bright color. it's real transformation, real magic. we are all learning how to become ourselves without fear, how to have trust in our true selves, all in our own ways.

it is astounding.

and, honestly? i'm excited to see what's going to happen next. i haven't been on the safe path since i first became "toujours" here, and i'm finding that i like not knowing what's around the corner. sure, sometimes it's a small-minded anon trying to irritate, but hey, sometimes, it's you.

well worth it, in my book. *grin*

good night, mayo. hope your feet are taking you around some interesting corners these days, happily and willingly.

Morning Mayo,

Immeasurable, eh? That's a bit ambiguous.

Are you saying we're so fabulous you can't even begin to contemplate it lest you give yourself a tumour, or is it a euphemism for "if I actually said how insignificant I find you all, you'd never forgive me and I'd have to find another hobby. I've already conquered the 'World of Warcraft'"?

Re: March 18, 2008 London United Kingdom O2 Arena
March 19, 2008 London United Kingdom O2 Arena
March 20, 2008 London United Kingdom O2 Arena
March 21, 2008 London United Kingdom O2 Arena

Eff. You. See. Kay. If this^^ is actually true I'm going to them all! But I'm not convinced, sadly...

Love,
Kass xx

P.S. Am I the only one puerile enough to find 'Spunk's' poems quite amusing? Reminded me of early Yoda, and you know how much I love my Yodles...

Morning all.

Hi kass.
Re : O2 dates

The Eagles are a confirmed booking to play the O2 on the 20th March, so I'm guessing the other three MCR dates may be incorrect as well. The Swedish date has been proven incorrect that came from the same tour list.
*pops Kass's 'hopeful but unconvinced' balloon without any glee*

I'd be pretty much filthy grumpy if those dates were real. Frank has been saying in several interviews now he will be getting married in March 2008.

Something that important to him as his wedding (no backstage quickie for him and Jamia - good on them)that has been planned for nearly a year deserves the respect of having his friends attend, and not have his friends in the crew or band say they can't be there because they are on tour.

The fact he has the date he proposed tattooed on him shows how much the actual day will mean.

*groans at revelation of obviously reading Kerrang and BN*

Please pass to Mayo:

Mayo,

Good Morning! How are you today? Warm and willing to make this the best day ever, I hope. Me? Don't be alarmed by my perkiness. I'm just trying really hard to wake myself and get psyched for the day. It's working pretty well for me so far. I'm trying to cook some breakfast. My choices are pretty slim to nothing seeing as how I didn't make it to hell..I mean Wal-Mart this past weekend.

Okay, so I am done with breakfast...I am also washing a load of clothes and getting ready for work..all while typing this note to you. Dude, I am like a superhero!!!

Mayo, I hope today that both you and I are able to see everything. Everything our world has to offer, everything we have, everything we are able to accomplish. Let's see it, look at it, embrace it, and feel grateful for it all!! I'm betting that both our lives are pretty damn full.

....of faith, hope, and love.

We'll talk more tonight.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. Pretty damn clear today.

Good morning Mayo, Possum, Kass, channeled through Ergo - TJ, Ergo (herself), SS, folks on the porch, studious readers of blogbelieve!

How are you all today? Thursday, right? Will it be a tepid one or will it be a tireless one for you all? Me, I've yet to decide ;-)

OP-J: Your poem is beautiful! Thank you (and L) for sharing it with us.

MissT: Wonderful post! Thank you for speaking UP for those who feel unheard and under appreciated!

(ALL)Unheard(s): Never feel like your voice does not matter - ANY WHERE. Never let anyone make you feel less valuable than any other person. Never be afraid to state your opinions and stand up for your beliefs!
Your opinions DO MATTER. Your advice IS valuable. Your voices are heard! You ARE IMPORTANT!!!

Mayo: Thank you for dropping in (your own place) to make everyone feel welcomed, wanted and valued!
You're kind of growing on me....

Possum: The anticipation is good; but the actual arrival is always better ;-)

Kass: I LIKE SPUNK!!!!!

To ponder today:
Ben Bagdikian
Respect:
Letting a maximum number of views be heard regularly is not just a nice philosophical notion. It is the best way any society has yet discovered to detect maladjustments quickly, to correct injustices, and to discover new ways to meet our continuing stream of novel problems that rise in a changing environment.

And because you can, in fact, show LOVE & RESPECT to those you do not agree with or particulary (as some say) like:

Love, Hugs & Respect to all,

Just joshing with you =)

Nice to see your words at the front door.

To the Sweet little excited anon@7.33pm,

You made me smile. If you read everything like I do I hope you see this. Over the last four months I can't recall Mayo ever actually indicating his birth month. Even if it were April it would not define the owner of this blog. For arguments sake, there were 6,602,224,175 people at the 2007 census. That averages out at 550,185,348 a month - 18,339,511 for each day in April. Break it down to an average life expectancy to determine the number of people per birth year, 85 as an example = 215,759 per date in April, (please excuse my wildly inaccurate use of statistics) and you see how it could be one of many people.
*mathematicians groaning worldwide at PP's maths*

That doesn't even take into account people who lie about how old they are. Mayo could be an old grumpy dude with dogs sleeping around his ankles for all we know.

I loved your enthusiam and appreciation for the band though. They're pretty good at what they do, and are a great live band as well.

You may have more luck contacting Warner Reprise or Riot Management about US dates.

Take care
PP

MissT,
Your 7.11pm comment was concern and love personified for those friends of yours.

Morning ERRRRRRBODY!!!!

I gotta say this just flat out.....

Frank will be the most adorable groom in the whole wide world. To know that taking that step means so much to him and the fact that her name has been written permanently on him twice.....

She's one lucky girl. On the other hand, she must be pretty damn special so maybe he's the lucky one. Who knows?

I wish nothing but happiness and the best for them! Yay Frank!

Now, my friend Mayo.

Mayo! Why do you wait until I've already gone to bed to come on here????? I'm starting to take it personal. Well, I guess I shouldn't. It's not like I could have gotten on here to begin with since Blogger has effed up my universe. >_<

So you like Mustard's comment. I did, too. Pretty good advice isn't it?

Well, have a lovely day, Mayo-man.

I'll be sitting on the front step..
Staring down the road...

Hi PP & Wendy,

According to NME.com, MCR will have an album out late this year: Photo number 14. I'm not convinced about an 2008 release, but...

In the accompanying article G-Way states that they're going to be more "punk-rock" and that his recent "amazing" marriage is affecting his songwriting. But he did warn us!

The following was posted as a reply to Loveman's blog (Compassion post, 25th August):

"Like most of MCR's output, it is death-obsessed, a byproduct of Way's Catholic upbringing.

But Way says, "I might be through with that subject." He looks forward to refocusing the band "and come back with completely fresh ears and say, 'What do we now want to say?'"

Through with death and despair? But will all the teen kids relate to if you start singing about LOVE. Fresh ears..? The kids just not good enough now. Bigger and more. Pffft.."

And so it came to pass....

Lord help us!!

Morning 616.

Nice view from Mr B with regard to love and respect.

One thing we have to remember here is that people come from all types of lifestyles, upbringings and countries to converge at Mayo's.

There may be people from small communities where there their voices are taken note of and considered, but find not so big here, or a big city person who has had to be louder than the others to be heard amongst the hustle and bustle of a larger population. Others just go with the flow, some are extroverts, and some have always been the quiet one no matter where they live. Jokers, cynics, sadness, sexiness, laughter. It all converges here.

We have to adapt to the nuances of different lifestyles and backgrounds and not read comments as aggressive and dominating, nor reticent and uptight.

If we disagree with someone, listen to what they have to say, and by all means express your point, but don't ever devolve the argument into personal critiquing or anonymous slagging.

We are better than that.

Respect and love.

Goodmorning Mayo :)

Dude, it's kinda funny. I'm a shitty sleeper. I can't ever fall asleep when I need to. Things run around in my head so fast that I try to keep up with them, and that makes me unable to sleep and sleep well.

I have you know last night was not a problem. My head hit the pillow and I thought to myself, "Maybe someone will get it. Maybe I can help change someone while trying to work on changing myself." It felt good, something I had never felt before.

The planets were ALMOST aligned. I didn't get ignored by AIP, and that makes them all smoosh together the way they're supposed to.

So, thank you again Mayo. Thank you for what you did, and thank you for allowing me to sleep soundly. I'm feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as we speak. Have a good day, Mayo :)

GS!!!
Thank you for coming back. And this may sound weird, but I'm glad you can breath again :)

Goodmorning everyone here!

Good Morning Mayo
Sorry you got no goodnight from me because the weather took my Internet last night. (I know you really were wondering LOL). I awoke to a winter wonderland. (Trying hard to sound perky) About 6 inches of snow. Yeah, it looks pretty but.. So anyway, just wanted to say once again thank you for telling us how you feel towards us. Even though most of us think we know how you feel it feels damn good to hear you say it. Hope your day is a good one. Hope you don't have to shovel snow! Take care and if you do have to go out into the cold (assuming you are somewhere where the weather is cold)just remember the warmth of this house. I know the place warms my heart.

But, don't you wish you were a kid again and could run through them without repercussion?

In that sense, they aren't really "wasted." They come alive again for just a second. Then they fall back to the ground to start the cycle all over again.

Beautiful and tragic.
