Time has a funny way of punching in.

Do not be led astray...I am here, not there, not everywhere. Although the meaning may be hidden, my words are never buried. You always recognize my presence and hear my voice. It is a great compliment. I hear you as well, and continue to do so with an open mind. My lovelies, it has been far too long since I addressed you directly. Please don't be mad.

It was never my intent to stay, you have given me a path, and I will wander. Judgments aside for the moment, the most promising of you have made this a phenomenal place to find importance in reason; the process of it. Dare I say we complement one another?

p.s. some are not obligated to wear the wool and others do it for good measure.

No, they wouldn't have noticed anything, but most of them aren't in agreement with what's being discussed here. Mostly it's just:

1.You only wish you could marry Gerard Way!

2.You're just jealous of Lyn-Z.

3,Why don't you worry about someone who cares about you?

Basically what all of the creepy anons have said. Anyway, they have their beliefs just like we have ours. No harm, no foul.

Hi Dr. Nut! Hi Co-Capt Sis Midnite! Hi everyone! Hi m.(not M.)! Hi fo'real SS! Hi fellow Nutbusters and cheerleaders!

The tiara shipment is on it's way. Diamonds and cupcakes for everyone! Those pesky Canadians held it up for awhile but it has finally been shipped. They aren't nearly as pesky as those overseas unknown pharma.....nevermind. Got a little carried away there.
Mayo, you know what I mean don't you?

Unicorns. Elusive little creatures aren't they? I used to have an adorable doll that rhode a unicorn. Heh-heh. What was her name? Oh well, can't remember. Shocker. Thing about unicorns is.....well, their pretty much a fantasy. Princesses on the other hand, are all real.

Nice story yesterday about the zombie and the fox. That was pretty cool. I know, I know. There is some meaning to it and it supposed to be OBVIOUS. Well, sometimes I have trouble with the obvious. Being a Scorpio and all, I kind of always tend to think there is a catch or some subliminal message. If I were Leonard, I would be wondering how come a sly and cunning fox would be so honest and nice. Doesn't exactly fit the fox profile does it? Never trust a fox.

P.S. - Is there really anyone you can trust? Doesn't look that way.

Pixie said...

Good Tuesday to you, Mayo! And to you as well, my darling Shitsubou. I do mean the real one, let me emphasize that point. But I'll get around to that later.

Mayo, you sound so much better than you did in the beginning. I cannot stress enough how positive you sound. This is wonderful! I hope that you're actually taking steps, even baby ones, to help yourself. Set small goals for yourself each day; write them down; mark them off as you accomplish them. This may sound simplistic, but I've done it before. Sometimes seeing things written down helps to clear it out of your mind.

As you've been able to tell, there are several of us here who suffer from depression, or know someone who does. Both L. and I take meds for it, although hers is anxiety-based and mine is anger-based.

I was depressed for years and didn't realize it. I knew I had a temper, but I had no clue it was due to anything "that bad". Over time, the anger gave way enough to let in the "down" side of the disease, too. I spent a lot of time alone, in the dark, in bed; I had no energy or will to do anything.

Then finally my doctor prescribed something, I think I started with Paxil. Wrong move there. It put me to sleep, so much so that I would be walking down the hall in the nursing home I worked in and would doze off. I swear to you it happened. I would even go to sleep driving. Not good.

Next was Prozac. Luckily I didn't have to go through any other med changes, because this one worked for me. I've been on Prozac for about 15 years now. My mood is happier, I'm able to control my anger, and I can rationalize things more easily.

Not to say, though, that I don't still have days when I don't want to get out of bed. Or days that look black even though the sun is shining. Or days when I feel worthless, ugly, stupid, hateful, and like a sorry excuse for a human being. On those days, I make myself get up, make myself see the rays of the sun, make myself look in the mirror. And the person I see there is me, depression and all. And then I go about my business the best I can.

We all have troubles, Mayo my friend. We know what you're going through. We want to help you. We will do so, any way we can. Ask, and ye shall receive.

Now--off the topic for a moment. I want to address the fake Shitsubou Shita, or pretty purple unicorn, whom I suspect highly of tarnishing his name. You, missy, are a disgrace to everyone here. We--which includes Shitsubou--have been with Mayo from the beginning of this blog. We are the people who care about him. We are the people who talk to him. We do not take kindly to insipid fools who try to pass themselves off as intelligent, kind individuals and end up exposing themselves to be selfish, mean-spirited, idiotic morons with an ego complex. I think I speak for all of us when I say that Shitsubou is our friend, and we don't abide folks trashing our friends. Go away.

Don't mess with our boys.

Ok, I'm done with that now. And see, L. and I started a blog of our own just to avoid posts like this. Didn't seem to make any difference...

Real Shitsubou, don't be afraid of me now, I only attack those who attack my loved ones. And you are one of those. I love you, baby.

Pactum Serva, all.

Its all about the love.

J.

Anonymous said...

Hi S&V20!

I never had a unicorn and now I'm glad, I seem to have gone off them lately!

I can't figure out the Fred and Leonard story. It is a very good story and I thought it was like a parable with a moral to it and maybe Gerard was like a zombie feeling alienated and the fox was, well I'm not sure who I thought the fox was, but anyway the author was here earlier (I missed him dammit!) and said there was an actual real message in the story and hoped we had fun finding it and making the connection. I tried every fourth word but it made no sense!

Anonymous said...

I don't really know either. I kinda just skimmed over it yesterday thinking it was just another crazy anon. But I went back and read it today and I put it in the context of what is currently happening here, mostly with Gerard.

I saw Gerard as Leonard, the zombie who no one wanted. But he was only as ugly as he made himself out to be. The fox saw him as a special person and though his skin was a weird green color, there were others out there as well with that same green colored skin. What Leonard "saw in the mirror" was what others saw, too.

But normally, in short tales such as this, when a fox is mentioned, normally it's never good. The fox is always out for his own, never taking into account the feelings of others. The fox is always sly and charming. So, I'm not sure about that.

I don't really know what "hidden" meaning there is. All I see is metaphorical stuff that the anon said they didn't intend on. That was just something additional.

Actually, I have no clue as to what I'm talking about.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Maybe we are that zombie and this place or how we interact with each other is the fox.

gnothi seauton said...

The only thing I get out of it is when Leonard says he should switch to decaff, thereby indicating that his encounter with Fred was a result of the coffee's ' chemicals ' and that in real life that doesn't happen and life is consequently shittier.

Original punks, nicely put. I too am on meds for depression and I too used to be soo angry all the time.

The right medication can work wonders and you should never be ashamed to use them if you need them.

Some of us have a chemical imbalance in our brains that can effect us in different ways. The meds bring our chemical imbalance back to normal levels. It is nothing to be ashamed of.

I am currently on my third set of meds but these work just fine. They don't stop you from having bad days tho, we all have our ups and downs, that's normal.

It's also nothing to be ashamed of to accept well meaning help from friends.

Dei Gratia, I am one and the same person.

Sometimes its easy to get hung up on semantics.

Sometimes clues are hidden in plain view.

Sometimes words within stories tell their own story.

Sometimes you just need to look a little closer to make the connection and solve the puzzle.

Sometimes it is important to remember that not all hidden messages are apocalyptic - sometimes they are just for fun!

The hidden message in the story is literal, any metaphorical message was purely coincidental! I hope you have as much fun solving the mystery as I had putting it together for you.

P.S. I know you will all be with me in spirit.

October 16, 2007 1:25 PM

He is telling us the hidden message is literal not metaphorical so I don't think there is a moral to the story. I think he has hidden a message for us within the story cos he says 'sometimes words within stories tell their own stories' but I just can't see it!

We have a person who is for the most part happy. The person works through or accepts them self for what they are but is still lonely. Than one day meats a person who could be dangerous or could mislead them but instead says something to the zombie that touches them. The fox didn't have to say those words to the zombie or even try to help the zombie. the Fox had never meat the zombie before.

That is what I get from the story. I think that is what needs to be focus on.

But I have no idea!
I'm just as lost as you guys, probably more.

I don't know what to make of it MIB. He said it was just for fun and he hoped we had as much fun solving it as he had writing it (or something like that)

This is a story like a scar. Like flesh knitting together to close and heal the wound. Once upon a time there was a zombie called Leonard. If you ignored the stench of his rotting gangrenous flesh and the fact that one side of his face was falling off, you would soon realize that Leonard was a really great guy. He was 74 years old, he was smart, kind and funny and he had the same appreciation and lust for life that he had when he was 20.

One sunny October morning, Leonard was taking a walk, contemplating whether or not to grab a coffee from Starbucks on the way home. Coffee was Leonard's only vice and he wondered if he had already had too much caffeine that morning. 'How much is too much?' he pondered as he thoughtfully stroked his chin and ignored the small chunk of green flesh that came off in his hand. He was walking past an old abandoned factory when something caught his attention. Up ahead he saw a large house with an overgrown garden and there was something moving in the long grass. He cautiously approached and saw a fox in the garden. The fox sensed his presence and looked up at him. The fox made eye contact with Leonard for a few moments before tilting his head to one side and saying 'Hey dude! 'Sup?'

Leonard gasped as his jaw dropped in disbelief. 'My name is Fred' said the fox nonchalantly. 'What's your name, dude?' Leonard hesistated for a moment before responding. 'Leonard....my name is Leonard.' The fox moved closer. 'Pleased to meet you, Leonard' he beamed, exposing a toothy grin. 'Do you live here?' Leonard asked the fox. 'No, I live at the cemetary with my wife and cubs. Our homes are graves.' Leonard could not believe what was happening. 'Aren't you afraid of me?' he asked in surprise. 'Why would I be afraid of you, dude? And please, call me Fred - my name is Fred!' the fox replied. 'But...' he stuttered 'but...look at me...I'm a zombie...I'm grotesque....just look at my skin....' Leonard trailed off, his voice filled with despair.

Fred gave him a quizzical look. 'Whats wrong with your skin?' he asked, genuinely unable to see why Leonard was so distressed. 'What's wrong with it?' he exclaimed in dismay. 'It's falling off everywhere, that's what's wrong with it!!! It's rotten.... and it smells......and the color, Fred, look at the color - who has green skin?' Leonard slumped to the grass and held his head in his hands as he started to sob. 'Hey, I know a lot of frogs that would kill to have skin the same shade as yours.' quipped Fred. Leonard looked up at him and choking back his tears he said 'I wish I wasnt a zombie Fred, I get so lonely.' Fred rested his head on Leonards lap and looked up at him with big brown eyes. 'Leonard, you are unique. So you're a zombie, so what? Stay what you are. This is a giant floating world and every person is put on this Earth for a reason. So, whaddya say? No more sad face?' 'No more sad face.' replied Leonard, a smile breaking out across his tear stained face. With that, Fred jumped up, gave him a wink and before Leonard had time to thank the fox or even say goodbye he had disappeared through a hole in the fence. As Leonard walked home, he replayed the mornings events over and over again in his mind and made a mental note to switch to decaff.

I can really put into words what I am thinking

Anonymous said...

Hey entropy! How's it going?

Anonymous said...

Hi entropy! You are not crazy, I actually thought of Fred from taking back sunday. I wonder if the names have significance? Also, why is Leonard 74 that's a random age for him to be.

I wiki-ed Leonard Cohen. Born September 21, 1934. He would have turned 73 this year. But, what caught my attention as well (not saying this has anything to do with the story. Leonard Cohen just popped into my head as around 70 something.) is the fact that he has a piece called "Joan of Arc".

You can see what I was getting at, but I think I'm WAY (no pun) off.

He is telling us the hidden message is literal not metaphorical so I don't think there is a moral to the story. I think he has hidden a message for us within the story cos he says 'sometimes words within stories tell their own stories' but I just can't see it!

I really like that idea mj :)

woho guys now it´s getting really interesting ;)

Sister, please do not attempt to strong-arm me on the internet. It makes you look a little more off-balance than you already do.

Sweetie pie, I'll do and say whatever I damn well want. And thanks for the compliment -- at least I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. Do you really think you're any better?

Bottom line, dearie: Play nice, or go play somewhere else. It's all the same to us.

Maybe the message is that he drinks far too much caffine and is up all night reading these pages co he can't sleep.

"And ketchup kicks ass", please, continue to write. I found myself agreeing with every word you wrote.

On another note:
"Frank: One more thing that I would like to say: my grandparents phone number got out and people kept phoning them up in the middle of the night. Don’t call them. They need sleep and my grandma’s really old. They’ll talk to you for hours, but…
Lisette: We’ll put the message up. Leave the private lives private.
Frank: Well, if you guys don’t mind, I’m gonna go outside and meet the kids.
Lisette: Of course not, wonderful.
Frank: Thank you guys so much! Really!
Lisette and Imre: Thank you!!
Frank: Have you got everything? Are you sure? Get home safe guys, ok?
Lisette and Imre: We will"

This just made my day. What a sweetheart.

To address hastily made assumptions:

I have never, nor will I ever post anonymously. There is no need. I remain the same regardless of what text is typed. In this comment area, I am truly - An Interested Party. I am an individual interested in who you are and what you surmise from all of this.

My skin is rather thick nowadays. I left without feeling offended or upset in any way. After all, I did return.
(I suppose you will have to try harder if that’s the goal. I can ready my arsenal of the sharpest words I know.)

A few of you dislike my manner of speaking… I fear I cannot offer a false apology. Would you prefer I spoke in a more casual tone? Are you certain? If so, would you have noticed me? Would that have altered your thoughts or opinions? So many things to ponder…

Those of you who said kind things about my visit… I wish I had a better way to thank you. Look after one another and none will be left alone.

This is my conclusion about the meaning of the story, but this was something I was suspecting that Gerard or anyone else, might have been struggling for some time now. I am not sure. It is my estimation.

After reading the story, it appears to me that Leonard may have felt that deep down he was worthless and that he did not deserve to be loved or cared for by anyone because it was possible that because of his zombie-like appearance, no one would look deep beyond that shallow exterior to see that there was someone who constantly craved to belong and to have someone care. A possible struggle with low self-esteem perhaps? I m not quite sure, but I do believe that he may have been struggling internally as to whether or not he believes that he is not deem worthy to receive the kind of love and affection that everyone else but him recieves and so, that could be the reason why he felt isolated and alone.

Those kinds of feelings may be triggered to his outward appearance, but I also believe that his low self esteem may have been caused by something much more internal, as I mentioned before.

That immediately changed, of course; as soon as he discovered the creature known as Fox, the one who showed Leonard that he is a part of the human race, as is everyone else, regardless of his vile appearance. Fox may have shown him friendship and possibly opened Leonard's eyes that not everyone judged him by his appearance. Fox did not. He saw beyond that exterior.

Well, what do you guys think?
I also believe that the anon post @ 12:46 may have been Frank. It sounds like him.

Anonymous said...

Hello there interested party. Nice to meet you ^_^

Anonymous said...

MCR are good friends with TBS. Fred is in TBS. That is the only connection I can make in this.

gnothi seauton said...

No Leonard, us foxes aren't afraid of you. And you can't be a zombie, you seem to have to much going for you to be a mindless drone.

Anonymous said...

BC, I also thought that was him, which means he is also our anon author who wrote the story for us.

I think the wisest man he knows who said the thing about being there for your friends when they deserve it least was probably his grandfather.

Anonymous said...

That is a big possibility, anonymeese. At least I finally have my theory out. It took a while for me to come up with it ^_^

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I liked you way of speaking it was just hard to under stand who you were talking to. Do you want to help us solve the mystery of our little story

Anonymous said...

I thought the same as well Meese. That sentence screamed Frank, but again, it could have been an imposter. But I do think it was SS, especially after SS changed his subtitle to somewhat match what was in the 12:46 blog.

Entropy said...

Interested Party, it's nice to see you have come back and I'm glad you weren't offended last night.

I have printed it out and keep waiting for something to jump out at me. We need more clues!

gnothi seauton said...

And yes this can be a bit of a caffeine party but if you switch to decaff and leave us foxes alone where are you going to get that ' kick ' to keep you alert:)

Entropy said...

BC, that is how I saw the story as well, thanks for sharing your theaory with us.

Anonymous said...

Thank you lonely one :)
Anyone else have any theories?

MissTottenham said...

Interested party, with your art for eloquence it should be easy for you to garner meaning from this story. Feel free to add your thoughts to the many already expressed here tonight.

No problem entropy :)

I think the author should tell us if we're hot or cold.

oh my goodness, it takes a lot to catch up!

hello everyone!

that message from anon @ 12:46 was very inspirational -- hanging onto my faith in this band is something i do every day. loyalty is a big thing for me.

and now a puzzle! i'm pretty good at mysteries, but not puzzles. i'll muddle along with the rest of you guys, though. :)
and thanks to anonymeesse for showing up to help us through it! ;)

and a good day to an interested party -- very good to see you here again, indeed. just be yourself, that's what important here. (may i call you a.i.p.?)

ok. brain: on.
(i hope)

Anonymous said...

Yes I noticed that too MIB. I am glad that things seem more positive. Whatever is happening behind the scenes, it seems to have put both Mayo and SS in a better mood. Mayo seems much happier and SS has become quite playful.

Entropy said...

But I do think it was SS, especially after SS changed his subtitle to somewhat match what was in the 12:46 blog.

I think so too, the dawn thing.
I read that and thought about what that anon said and knew it was probably him. But the only thing is he didn't change his location, but maybe he didn't want us to know that was him.I dont't know.

Anonymous said...

Hi toujours, I have been away far too long, my eyes were sore from catching up. I'm the one firing everyone up to solve the mystery so the author doesn't think we are stupid but I'm not actually solving any mysteries! ha The spirit is willing but my brain is weak!

Entropy said...

Hey toujours!

ergoproxy said...

Hello everyone,

hi interested party, and leonard/fox anon.

ok, so there is literally a zombie wandering about somewhere looking for coffee, and a talking fox lives in a graveyard.
- should that be on the news?

(that is a joke, just in case the anon with no sense of humour ia around)

Anonymous said...

Hi toujours, hi ergoproxy

we could use all the extra brains we can on this damn puzzle...

... won't get any from me tonight, left my brains at the door. I've reverted back to my thirteen year old boy mentality.

Anonymous said...

Ok,so we know Leonard is not Leonard Cohen, because he is 73 not 74. Fred could be Fred from Taking Back Sunday. I think Leonard may be the name of someone in a band who they are friends with. Anyone?

Anonymous said...

Ergoproxy:

Even if I was an anon with no sense of humor, I'd still laugh because that was funny.

toujours said...

hey entropy! my day was pretty good, and it's better now because i'm in blogtime. lol

anonymeese, when you mentioned a code-breaking website earlier, were you thinking about that one that kapunua was having fun with one night?
i can't remember what entry that was in, but she put up the link (it was kapunua, right?).

also, i might seem a bit slow today -- but it's just because it takes my computer a l-o-o-o-n-g time to get through all these comments each time i need to make one myself.
(ugh. dial-up.)

MissTottenham said...

I wonder if m is out there tonight.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Meese, but do you think the guys are kickin' with old men in a VFW club?

Oh the imagery this brings me ;)

No Meese, seriously...I've never heard of anyone called Leonard. Not in recent music scenes anyway.
Leonard Cohen is the only Leonard artist I know.

Entropy said...

Haha GS!
My brain is slowly shrinking, so you may loose mine.
anon, hot or cold? seriously kid, shrinking brain here, all our brains will be fried by the end of this.

Entropy said...

Oh and Hey Ergo!

toujours said...

i'm not up on all the bands mcr is friends with -- but isn't there a leonard in the bled??

(mostless clueless)

Anonymous said...

MissT:

You've made me think of another cheesy song, you joker you.

"Somewhere...out there..."

Anonymous said...

Maybe he is, Miss T. This is Mayo's blog after all. Many people lurk that we are not aware about ;)

Anonymous said...

I don't know about that website toujours, I was just thinking that he said

Sometimes clues are hidden in plain view.

Sometimes words within stories tell their own story.

so maybe if we copied and pasted it in a code breaking website it might solve it for us. I don't know if such a website even exists but I think the words to the message are in the story but we need to put them together somehow to figure it out.

Anonymous said...

Not according to Wiki toujours... there's not a "leonard" in the band.

Anonymous said...

No Leonard in the Bled, I just looked it up :( Good thinking though!

Why did he have to make it so HARD!

MissTottenham said...

Oh no mustard, I'm sorry for planting cheesy tunes in your head, I don't mean to. Or do I (wicked laugh).

How about this: Well, this story deciphering is so difficult I feel I'm going crazy, like I'm "dancing on the ceiling".

Ha! Get that one out of your heads if you can.

toujours said...

ok, so not the bled. what other bands?
seriously guys, who are their band friends?

thursday...
taking back sunday...

(that's a lot of days-of-the-week band names there...but i digress!)

who else?

sdock10 said...

Hello interested party, Nice to meet you.

And fellow bloggers, I see you all are knee deep in the solving the mystery of Leonard and Fred.

Anonymous said...

you are evil miss t! evil!

what a feeling...d'oh!

Anonymous said...

My meager attempt, keeping in mind that I’m being simplistic this time-

The zombie was unhappy with himself. A chance meeting, while dealing with mundane issues, lead him to a new friend. That friend was open, honest and supportive. He forced the zombie to see what actually matters, thus elevating the zombie’s mood and forcing him to get over himself to a degree and rethink his habits.

There, a shallow imitation of a summary. No need to be deep or think things out. Simply enjoy the tale and seek the next chapter, that’s what I would do.

(And call me whatever you like.)

elena said...

I Am A Graveyard- Frank's early band

Anonymous said...

sdock10, you are clever, the only link we have at the mo is Fred from taking Back Sunday, care to add anything?

I printed it out and keep waiting for something to jump out at me but no luck yet.

ergoproxy said...

perhaps there are a whole lot of frogs out there disappointed with their colour?

Anonymous said...

that is a good summary interested party but the author said he has literally hidden a message in the story for us and any metaphorical meaning was just coincidental. But it is a very cute story anyway.

Anonymous said...

I know if I were a frog, I'd choose to be a lovely shade of red.

Star:
That's a very good hypothesis. Makes you think

ergoproxy said...

IP - that is what I was thinking, it is really a very classic, much repeated storyline.

Anonymous said...

Star, where does it say I am a graveyard, I can't find that

MissTottenham said...

Thanks interested party. That was nice and simply put.

anonymeese, So sorry. In the words of Cher "If I could turn back time". Here we go again.

toujours said...

Why did he have to make it so HARD!

because it wouldn't be fun if it were easy, anonymeese! ;D

okay,
we have the band clue;
we have the opening line clue;
we have the Leonard Cohen clue/not-clue;
and we have the possibility that a code-breaking website might help us.

anything else?

gnothi seauton said...

I was just listening to James Morrison.

' How Come ' sums up this whole situation beautifully.

I'd link it but I don't know how.

sdock10 said...

Interesting indeed, interested party

Could it be that simple?

Don't ask me, I overanalyze EVERYTHING!

star, also very interesting

I'm also just waiting for something to jump out at me. If clues were a snake, I would have already been bitten several times.

ergoproxy said...

You really cannot take too much literal meaning from the names unless you also take the characters literally also.
Unless the entire story is literal, it is metaphorical.
Although if it is an "every 3rd word" hidden meaning I don't have time or patience.

"it's not easy,being green"

Anonymous said...

At the risk of sounding simple, it makes me feel relieved and happy that Fred the Fox can make Leonard the Zombie feel better.

Anonymous said...

toujours I think the number 74 is a clue. I don't know why I just think it is. It's too random.

toujours said...

anonymeese said...
Star, where does it say I am a graveyard, I can't find that

it doesn't say that, but the fox and his family live in graves.
*spock brow*

Anonymous said...

I got that whole "Choose every fourth word" dilly from Mayo. I'm still trying to figure out the key to life. I doubt he's even found yet either, so I'm in no rush ;)

Entropy said...

Star,I'm glad I'm not the only thinking that.I really don't think it's Fred Mascherino and we surely don't have another Leonard.

Interested, thanks for your synopsis on the story.Although it's fun to just enjoy it, it's funner trying to solve the puzzle with your buddies.

Anonymous said...

Anonymeese,
Fred the Fox lives in the graveyard.

ergoproxy said...

Maybe the fox is really dead too,

just to add another confusing element.
"our homes are the graves"
