Let's mothball this shit baby...with one hour to spare.

Is it true that we value in others what we want to see in ourselves, the missing piece...pieces, or peace? Who surrounds you? Why are they near? I hold dear to my heart those whose passion can find no limit, those with righteous hearts, and calloused fingers. Because I aspire to be more than I have brought to the table so far.

What is missing? I can not watch myself from a distance...it is far too painful. The awkwardness, the shuffle, gives rise to self doubt and sour bile. I rely on second hand tales and the perceptions of others to deliver me from evil. Introspection has never been my finest skill...so I challenge myself to look.

p.s. here we go, one last time...it's in the blood.

Yep,Bob was definitely drunk at yesterdays show and Gerard is an asshole for saying he wants more violence.

I wish i had an eye rolling smiling to put right their. I didnt even bother to watch the video though.

Haha, it really doesn't matter if this is or isn't Gerard. The main thing is his blog brought people together to talk about random stuff.

Meh maybe, maybe not Gerard like has been said- who cares

if it is, then no one can provide the pieces you are missing, but perhaps you should examine why you lack what you admire in others.

Perhaps introspection isn't innate, but without a solid core within, nothing that you find without will satisfy.
Passion springs from one's own heart's fire, after all.

Poor Bob, I worry for him, it's not healthy.

I just looked up the time that the concert starts tonight. It's at 8pm. So, given that there is most likely an opening band going on first, that means MCR wouldn't take the stage til at least 8:30pm, I would think.

Mayo, are you hiding in a corner backstage playing on your laptop?? ;)

"I hold dear to my heart those whose passion can find no limit, those with righteous hearts, and calloused fingers"
"I rely on second hand tales and the perceptions of others to deliver me from evil. Introspection has never been my finest skill...so I challenge myself to look."

This is my estimated assumption of what I think Mayonaise is trying to say: So are you trying to tell us that those who are dear to you are your fellow bandmates? Be aware that I know that playing the guitar can caused calloused fingers and hands( I happen to play the instrument myself) and that the word "those" is directing at more than one person.. If you hold them dear, then why are you pushing them away? Are you finally coming to terms with the mistakes you have made? I really am hoping that that is the case because all of us tire of your masquerade.

It appears that you are admitting that you rely on others to see your faults through their own eyes because you yourself cannot witness them, out of your own blindness, selfishness, and lack of self introspection and self discovery.
You must challenge yourself to look deep within yourself. It never hurts to do that once in a while because it can spare you so much pain and misery and trouble.

Anonymous said...

I'll just say this about the timing. You all have made valid opinions to the contrary of it being some person with a screw loose messing around. I can see all of that happening. But, I find it very, very hard to believe that Gerard, ready to go on stage in an hour to an hour and a half, would take the time to find an internet connect or pop out his sidekick (or Mikey's *shrug*) to post on here, even if he had written it previously. If Mayo really wanted to throw us for a loop, he shouldn't have posted another blog after we had begged for some "more room". That would have made us think that Gerard was on stage at the time, thus wouldn't have been able to lurk and see that we wanted another blog posted.

BUT, what Mayo said about the calloused fingers and introspection, that was really heartfelt. Maybe he doesn't have such a black heart like he once claimed. I think it's turning gray.

Anonymous said...

Aw don't worry, everyone is invited ;) I don't expect people to show any love because then the asskissing will begin and frankly, I despise asskissing. It's one of my big pet peeves actually. I admire honesty and speaking your mind. That is all :)

I going out on the line here. I suspect it is him. But knowing his ability to game play, I would speculate that the moment we suspect it is, he would try to confuse us.

I also think he has lost a fair bit of perceptive because of his life is so out of touch with the reality of most people's lives. How many of us have a body guard in public at all times. How many of us live in hotels constantly, or have other agreeing or attending to our needs at our whim (the pa's at Reprise/warner).

I also think that although being surrounded by many, and despite being married he is very lonely. In part, these blogs do give him some form of attention he seeks.

Well done gerard its bout time you looked at yourself. All is not lost you know. No matter how long you have relied on the second hand tales of others its not impossible to change a lifetimes pattern of thinking. Allthat is needed is a little RE-WIRING.
What is it that you see in others that you wish to see in yourself? The ability to cope? To leave the past in the past? To forgive yourself? For all the bad things you have done you must remember there is definitly some good things that you toss aside without so much as a second thought.
You KNOW i believe that you should be remembered for the good things you have done.
It is true we value in others what we wish we could be ourselves. Ask yourself what your fans and the ones with the righteous hearts that you so speak value in you? what they have missing from themselves?

I know we're exploring all possibilities here, but that's my biggest fear. Even if Mayo is Gerard or not, I fear that one day, this pressure will get to him. The pressure to live up to something he thinks he should be. The pressure of the industry. Call me what you want, but it just frightens me.

I seriously hope it's not the last blog. I'm having too much fun here. Anonymous said...

And about the "one last time". None of his PS's have made sense to me thus far. They never go with what Mayo's written in his main blog. I'm still looking at every fourth word to find the meaning of life here people! Maybe it was just a final thought before he pressed submit.

Yes. This blog is fun. MCR is just a disappointing mess and not even a shadow of what they used to be. I'm one of those few people, the adults, who were brought on board because of the message the band was all about. Anti-violence, anti-sexism, anti-racism, anti-homophobia. The things they were teaching to the children who went to see them: that it was a safe place for them, that "homophobia is gay," that You Are Beautiful, and that women deserve to be treated with respect.

Now Gerard is throwing puke at his fans and encouraging them to be violent. Yeah, and dragging MSI out on the road with them.

And whats with most people being against MSI, just because their lyrics are a little on the nutty side

Oh yeah, "Five year old panty shot, my life has meaning when she spreads her legs." El to the Oh to the El. How "nutty." Just what every 13 year old "ILU GEE!!!" fan should be taught.

And hey, I'm just going by the things that Gerard himself has said about rock music and responsibility in lyrics. So if you object to people hating on disgusting lyrics, don't look at me, honey. Look at Gerard. Because he was the one who used to call them out all the time.

I dont'know about last tur but,

I have a feeling that Frank will be following in Fred's footsteps soon. I am not happy about this.

Anon @9:12 I have thought the same thing.

i honestly think if mcr split it really wouldn't bother gerard as much as people might think. he has his comic to fall back on and that is truly his first love not this band.

Anonymous said...

Paperheartxx,

Yes I agree the PR tour was a monument to the crazies, some real spinal tap moments.

Someone posted a youtube video of Gerard at PR on that silly Buzznet Crotch thread which made made feel quite embarrassed for the boy, although I think he was deliberately trying to embarrass himself.

Gerard it is not a good idea to perform on stage while you have a semi erection!

I know your too young to be taking viagra, so what happened? Time for a LONGGGG break.

Anonymous said...

Frank should ditch this shit while he still has his dignity. He has Skeleton Crew and Leathermouth, he has his confidence and his genuine heart. I'd be glad if Frank left. He deserves better.

Anonymous said...

I'm right behind you in line Kapunua. I don't want this band to end, but they'd be preaching a different sermon to the future masses. I still believe in the lesson they taught; I firmly believe it. I guess they, or maybe just Gerard (again, the mouth of the band. we hear mostly from him and what he has to say. we also, with him being "ring leader" see most of his antics),just don't believe the same message anymore. I don't know. This is all very confusing.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Yes, he has his comic but he only got that because of MCR. He even said it in LOTMS. He couldn't get publish before but now that he is famous he can.
Its like actor who are on a hit show, they get all these offers for other jobs because of the free publicity that the show they are on offers. Take that show away and no one wants anything to do with them.

JocelynHolly said...

Honestly, I'd be devastated if this band broke up. Last night, watching LOTMS, watching them evolve as people and musicians, and listening to their songs, I literally cried for like an hour.

Anybody think that s//c ditty Frank posted has a lot to do with what's going on his personal life, not just s//c? People thought I was crazy when I brought up the whole "some bands breaking up, some bands remain productive" bit being possibly about Fred leaving, seeing as how they are all good friends. Maybe there's something else behind that little bit of the post?

JocelynHolly said...

When I read that s/c letter thing from Frank, and read "some bands breaking up, some bands remain productive" I first thought "Oh no, what's happening to MCR?"

Anonymous said...

I've said it from the beginning that I want these guys happy with themselves. I want them healthy and happy. If ending this band is what has to happen for that to occur, then I support it 100%. I will still have what I learned from them. I will still listen to the music, and as I posted last night, I will still remember all of the good times I had with this band and their music. No, I don't want to see them break up, much less breaking on bad terms. But, if they must, they must.

Anonymous said...

Im sorry to say
but if you need a band to tell you that your beautiful and dont go around beating the shit out of people, thats just pathetic.

You put your life in the hands of a band, they will drop it. End of story. And when you rely on a band tp lead you and advice your life, than youve obviously put your life in their hands.

Throwing puke into the crowd, encouraging violence and dragging MSI on tour.

You must be Gerards brain to know what his intentions were of doing these things.
Has it ever occured to you that perhaps oh i dont know, there were valid reasons to these actions.

And dont think that for one second im in denial because i think Gerard is some beautiful god. I actually think he;s quite ugly normal huma being.
But none of that shit ever mattered to me, im only hear for one reason, the music.

Take a legendary band- Led Zeppelin,
the band broke up because of the immense drug and alchol problems, yet no one cares about that today. People still listen to them and honor them

So if your going to stop listening to a band because of Gerad not being an angel and spreading the message, well thats you problem.

End of fucking rant

You're right anon2007. They've already accomplished alot as a band, now it might be time to personally find themselves. I think they rose to fame too quickly, and now they'll come crashing down at a rapid speed.

I hold dear to my heart those whose passion can find no limit, those with righteous hearts, and calloused fingers.

Perhaps a long-term break is okay, no? I think that at thr speed things have been going for them, they need at least half a year to catch up with themselves.

Fame is dragging them along, and if they let go, it won't come back to pick them up, and what they worked so hard on will have meant nothing to them.

Well, if Mayo is Gerard than I can't really say that I blame him for that.

Actually, I never heard the positive message - except for things he said on stage.

"Fame is dragging them along, and if they let go, it won't come back to pick them up, and what they worked so hard on will have meant nothing to them."

I don't agree with you Shadows. Here's why: This band has put an imprint onto many hearts and minds. You listen to what I'm saying, because this band will go down into history books. Step outside of the fandom for a second. Look how political this band is. They've got some very good things to say in regards to social issues. Sure, fame has a little to do with it right now, since we're still in the fifteen minutes. But once it's over, be it a complete breakup or not, they will have left a legacy. A small break will not ruin their music. Fans will not forget. They will remember everything, good and bad. Those who remain standing beside them after a break-up or a hiatus have gained the most. Fame has very little to do with it, in my opinion.

It's called "reading comprehension" anon. Look into it. When did I ever say that I needed a band to tell me that I was beautiful? Oh, hang on a sec, it's coming to me... Right, I didn't.

I was glad, however, that they were around for the younger generation who needed this kind of positive message in their lives.

Remember, it was Gerard who said they were out to save lives. They wanted this pedestal.

Has it ever occured to you that perhaps oh i dont know, there were valid reasons to these actions.

Oh, do enlighten me to what would be a "valid reason" for his throwing puke into the audience? Do enlighten me, O Bright Star, because I'd like to know what you'd consider a "valid reason" for throwing your puke at your fans.

JocelynHolly said...

^^I don't think that any reason is a good reason to throw puke on your fans.

Again RW and Kapunua, I'm at a loss for a valid reason. I respect her opinion, but for the life of me, I can't see how condoning violence and throwing his vomit at an audience is legitimate.

That sucks, Mayo. Did you seriously lead everyone on here for over a month so that you could bail when it got interesting? I always kinda had you pegged as a coward. Hiding behind a fake identity because of the attention it was getting you. How'd that feel, pretending to be someone famous? You know the attention was never on you, right? You know people thought you were Gerard Way.

What, you ran out of things to say to make people believe that?

I hate frauds in any context. Mayo, Gerard, hell you may as well be the same person for all the truth you both tell.

Farting In The Shadows said...

anon2007 - while they will have left their mark, it will have been a disappointingly short run. While it would still mean something, it would be painful to look back.

But all they need is a short hiatus. And I don't see a plethora of rifts. If there are some conflicts in the band, I'm sure they can be settled.

JocelynHolly said...

I really think that MCR needs a break, they need to step back from the spotlight for a while. Maybe after a year-long break, they'd have things sorted out.

Anon @ 9.22 p.m.

The valid reasons that Gerard might have had for the puking etc, might be valid to his distorted thinking at the time, but belies the behavior of a professional musician.

And yes, it is about the music and as unreasonable as it sounds people do identify with the message, however wrong it may be, even a certain band member seems to identify with it's continuing theme.
In terms of Led Zepplin, the hard core followers do still follow their music, and they are remembered for certain musical door-openings, however I doubt they are seen as a band for other musicians to aspire to apart from Jimmy Page and his guitar rifts.
No matter what happens MCR will always have a following, however not everyone wants them to end up as a "Typical" rock band.

resurrected wreck said...

FITS and paperheartxx, agreed. Right now the emphasis is on the antics. It needs to get back to being about the music. Being together on a tour bus all day & a stage at night, they must all get sick of the sight of each other at times. I think a long break would be beneficial to all of them.

Anonymous said...

Ah, Kapunau:

"I always kinda had you pegged as a coward."

And what was it Adam Lazzarus asked? "What is the oposite of valor?"

Anonymous said...

But Shadows, it hasn't been a short run. They've accomplished so much in their six years as a band, and if they continue, they will have much more music to offer. I know that you know MCR will eventually part ways at some point, be it tomorrow or ten years down the road. It will end eventually. I understand that it will be painful, but stop and consider the pain the guys may be in from touring years on end, the pain the may be in from being mentally exhausted, from not being on the right kilter. Would you want them to continue in that way when they've said everything they feel that needs to be said?

I agree that maybe a hiatus will solve some problems, BUT IF THEIR ARE BIG MENTAL AND FRIENDSHIP/BROTHERHOOD PROBLEMS OCCURING, I'm not sure a short hiatus will solve that stuff. It's embedded and comes back up at the most inconvenient times. That is IF something is going on. IF.

Farting In The Shadows said...

Do I have to repeat myself? MCR and MSI are 2 separate entities. One does not necessarily affect the other, except in backstage tour life.

Farting In The Shadows said...

By hiatus, I meant 6-12 months.

JocelynHolly said...

Right now, nothing about this band is about the music. No one is focusing on the thing that matters. After a break, I hope that it goes back to what really matters... of course the music.

Well, I couldn't follow that link, anon, but I did find this:

"Headfirst For Halos"

Yeah!

Well let's go back to the middle of the day that starts it all
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
And now the red ones make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
And as the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tongue like pixie dust just think happy thoughts

[Chorus]
And we'll fly home
We'll fly home
You and I
We'll fly home

Come on!

Well now I'm back in the middle of the day that starts it all.
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling.
And now these red ones make me fly,
And the blue ones help me fall.
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling.

[Chorus]
And we'll fly home,
You and I,
We'll fly home.

Now honestly that's what I said to her, what I said to her

Think happy thoughts
Think ha... wooo!

That certainly sounds like an uplifting and positive message to me...

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Most of there songs are about dealing with death or the lose of someone close to you. The speeches Gerard use to give were different. He was the one that said the band saves lives, he was the one who said don't be homophobic or sexist. The message of the music and the man are different. You may not care that is fine for you but the only reason I went out and bought their CD is because I want to support band that had a good message. If it wasn't for that message I would have downloaded their songs off limewire andsaves a lot of money.

Farting In The Shadows said...

you know, all this weirdness is really just from the projekt rev tour -- just one month! so maybe it was just a crazy ass tour.
whatever is going to happen, i will always give these guys the benefit of the doubt -- Gerard included! -- because they've always seemed like people who constantly strive to be better than what they were.
i have confidence that whatever the hell is really going on, they'll make it through.
band or no band, these five guys are pretty damn amazing people, imo.

Holy shit, guys... does anyone else think that we're WAY over-analyzing this? (yes, pun intended)

The is the Internet. You can manipulate ANY site's time zone. It's based on whatever time you choose; if you don't pick one, it defaults to the time zone where the site is located.

"One last time" could mean anything. It could even be an empty threat. After all, he *will* be rejoining the new Mrs. soon.

And again, 50 new anons who come here to tell us all that we're full of shit. Maybe we are. But at least our minds are open to all the possibilities, which is more than I can say for any of you. Yes, Gerard is backstage, according to Mexican time. How do any of us know what he's doing? There *is* the possibility that he's behind this latest. Honestly, the way some of you believe that the life of a musician is sooooo much more important than anyone else's -- where do you get this crap? Let me be so kinds as to point something out to you: Gerard Way does the exact same things any other human being does. He's talented, but he is NOT any more or less important than the rest of us mere mortals. If you believe that he is, you really need to grab some self-esteem. (/rant)

So Mayo, does this mean that you're taking your blog away to put it in mothballs?

Aww, don't do that, baby! We're in the middle of our best EVER season of kickball. The venue is a lucky one for us, and you want to revoke our lease? Do you WANT me to kick your ass???

PS - Be sure not to choke on your aspirations. You'll need them when you've pushed everyone who cares about you away.
