I've been thinking about SS's latest Latin and I wonder if things have gotten so bad with Gerard that they all know know deep down that they should not be on tour right now, but due to contractual obligations 'the show must go on' and the bit at the end is talking about how they know being away from home is not what Gerard or any of them needs at the moment with the current state of the band 'not for you, not for me' but he doesn't want to disappoint thousands of fans by bailing on a tour 'but for everyone'

It is difficult to know what he meant, I interpreted it as 'the show must go on' meaning that regardless of how fucked up Gerard is getting offstage, he still has to pull his shit together at night when he goes onstage. And he has to do this not just for himself, not just for Frank, but for everyone (the rest of the band and the thouands of fans that have paid good money to see a show) If he is so fucked up at night that the show repeatedly suffers, MCR will be over.

I have been reading for a long time. I thought I would put my two cents worth in. If Mayo were the lead singer of MCR, why would he broadcast all of his actions in a blog for the world to see? It's one thing to unintentionally have leaked photos of yourself on the internet or drag your wife along to comic book signings, but why would he want to expose himself through a blog?
Let's just say that this was indeed Mr Way's blog, what are his motives behind writing it? Is it to see how far he can go with getting away with everything? Is it to see if people are turning away from him and his band? Is it to try and seek help for his possible drug abuse? Or is it the fact that he is so unhappy with his current situation that he is trying to seek solace in whoever stumbles across the blog in the hope that they will give him lots of attention?
Mr Mayo, whoever you are, please find someone in your own life to help you deal with your problems. I mean sure these blogs and the comments that follow are very entertaining, however, if the rumors are true about your private life, you should be trying to make amends to all of the bridges you have burnt rather than gloat about them in this blog.

I agree, and I know I'm one of the most laissez faire folks around here. I'll tell you why. First of all, because I don't believe this is Gerard Way's blog. Especially now, after his look has somewhat changed, every time I look at a picture, or see a video or interview, I get the eerie-est feeling in the pit of my stomach. He makes Kurt Cobain come back to life for me at every glance, and that's such a scary, yet peaceful feeling. I'm sure that wasn't his intent, but his features are perfectly matched. Bert McCracken and others, many others, agreed. I capitalized on that idea and pointed out that, in my opinion, Mr. McCracken looks a hell of a lot like Kurt Cobain in recent videos and recent pictures. Never once did I state that WE ALL THOUGHT the same things. We're very differed in our opinions here, which is a good thing. I was stating mine and that's the end of it.

Normally there is a REASON for ending a friendship.

I don't know who Mayo is. Cerain posters believe Mayo to be Gerard just like certain posters don't believe. I'm on the fence. I'm not here to solely discuss the true identity of this Mayo person. That's just something that's coming with the territory. I'm here to share my opinion with people who will graciously accept it, whereas I can't do that in other parts of this fandom. That's the true reason I'm here. As for proof, I have none. I just know what I see. I can compare the Gerard I used to see with the Gerard I see now, and it's a completely different human being. I don't know what's going on with him and I don't claim to. I don't know what's going on with the band. I just hope that when the dust settles (if it ever does) that we're all still left with a band who cares deeply for their music and for their message, as well as their fans. And if there is something going on with Gerard, that he seeks what he deems beneficial to his health and well-being and comes out of it on top.

If any of you have seen videos of the Monterrey show, it was just like any other show.
Yes, Frank did stay on his side most of the time, but he has does this in many other shows. Nonetheless, it looked like a great performance.
Nothing seemed wrong with Gerard at all.
But i know that some people will pick out the smallest things and make it seem bigger than the actual truth.
I'm not saying that im in denial of anything. I'm just not they type to believe everything i hear without real proof.

I completely agree that we should not assume or judge. I don't like doing that. But it is also important to be observant. I have seen some changes and I've learned a few scary things so I do worry about the fate of Gerard and the band. That's why I'm here. I'm trying to figure things out.

It's completely natural for people to be curious. But, there are any number of reasons he MIGHT NOT BE wearing his ring. It might not even be visible in the pictures. It's just something that happens. People will question small things because that's how humans are. We want to know things. There's nothing that can be done about it.

Anon, I don't know. I'm not friends with the woman, nor am I one of her aquaintences. I GUESS some people contribute Gerard's recent behavior during PR and there afterwards with Lyn-Z being in the picture. I don't know if that's true or not, that's why I don't make any assumptions about it. I don't know what has caused this changed. It could just be that his soul and mind has changed. That's okay. It happens. I just hope that it has nothing to do with drinking or with drugs, and if it does, may he see his mistake and correct it and may he have people behind him to support him yet again and may he accept that support with open arms.

Granted, their careers are a lot more exciting than most, but they're still human beings. You show me a human being under 60 that doesn't use the Internet, and I'll show you the nearest Amish colony. :)
Please - Gerard is no god. Please don't buy into the pedestal syndrome. He's more talented than the average person, and has a more exciting career. And yes, his band's music has spoken to many. But the guy is flesh & blood, just like anyone else. If he's full of shit, he can be called out for it just like anyone else. He may be a personal hero to some, and they're fully entitled to that. Just don't assume that everyone sees him in the same way. I'm not afraid to say that I'd be much more likely to kick his ass than I would to kiss it. ^_^

To all the people who believe that this industry has always been about the music and that the Internet has ruined everything, do you remember Elvis? How about the Beatles. They had a whole lot of this shit going on to. Wasn't there a rumor that Paul had died because of something on an album cover. The only thing the Internet did was make it easier to get and give information.
On Lynz drinking or doing drugs, she is in the music industry in a punk band the chances are very high that she is. How many times have you heard a rumor about some entertainer you love being on drugs or having a drinking problem, to only find out it is true. This is a very old game that gets played over and over again and no one seems to learn anything from the last group that played before them.
Some of those pictures on helenawill's Buzznet didn't even look like him. He looked eerie. Am I the only one that thought that?
As for putting artists up on a pedestal: I agree with you all. Doesn't need to be done, but it happens.

No, no, no, it’s not the one that you have heard before about Kurt. No, this is a different guy. A guy who was from my hometown in fact. He was the lead singer of a band in the ‘80’s. At first he was, sweet, charming and loved meeting with his fans. He had gorgeous hair and a beautiful smile and he was very well liked. His band gained popularity very quickly, and as their fan base grew larger so did his ego. One day he returned home for a gig in his hometown and a record signing at a local music store. Many fans had gathered from the very early morning hours and stood in the sweltering August sunshine for hours awaiting his arrival. When his limo arrived, he dashed out and quickly entered the store without even a glance or wave at the group fans standing there. The doors were opened and the signing began, but after only ten minutes, his manager informed the rest of the anxious fans that there would be no more autographs because he had a sound check to get to, therefore he would only shake hands. Oh, and of course, no picture taking was allowed. As the many remaining fans entered the dimly lit store, they were greeted by the sight of a very bored man arrogantly leaning against a table hiding behind his sunglasses. He barely spoke except for the occasional, “Hey,” and it was obvious he wasn’t listening to what was being said to him. His body language screamed that he just wanted to leave and not deal with the people who were there. Many of the fans that day walked away disappointed, some cried and a few even threw away their tickets to that night’s show. After that summer and many more incidents like this one, his band began to play smaller and smaller venues. Before long, they appeared to have dropped off the radar. Aside from the occasional reunion gigs, they were nothing more than the butt of many jokes. The last time I saw him was on a “Where are they now?” VH1 special. Anything sound familiar to you in this tale of what not to do?
You are on that road, my dear. Please turn around and pick a better destination before you reach the point of no return. Your talent deserves a better legacy than that. Unlike that guy, you have done something amazing with your music. You have touched people’s lives and inspired them with your words. Don’t tarnish that because you are too stubborn and/or embarrassed to admit you are in trouble.
You must realize now that you can’t keep up this charade of yours for much longer. Maybe the majority of your young fans can be fooled just a teensy bit more, but eventually they will see what the majority of us here in this blog of yours see.
Please get the help you desperately need. The ending of your story is not yet written in permanent ink - or sharpie (sorry, couldn’t resist). You can keep this from becoming another “Where are they now?” or “Behind the Music” tragedy.
Since you probably have nothing else to do today and a lot of alone time I’m guessing, spend some time thinking about what you are doing. Not only to yourself; but your band mates, your friends, your family and your fans. There is so much love and support surrounding you and so many hands willing to reach out and help you if only you would reach out to them first. I still believe in you and I have faith in you. I am not giving up on you anytime soon because I know you can get through this. Just remember you can’t do it alone, so swallow your pride and ask for help. Please. Be safe, Mayo.

He DOES want the attention. How many singers don't want it? He likes to get a rise out of people. He's said before that he wants MCR to be talked about. He wants them to be truly loved or truly hates. The best way to have that is to get people talking about his shinanigans.
