You can love someone but hate what they are doing. You try and show support without enabling someone. (I'm still working on that one.) The battle in here is a constant one between all sides. Most of the time it is more of an inner battle than anything else. You want to help but feel powerless. You want him to know you care but that you are pissed off. You want to be someone to lean on without being walked all over.
And sometimes you have let it all go, laugh and have a nice game of kickball.

^ Anon above, I agree. I always get the impression the rest of the band are a bit intimidated by Gerard. I remember an interview from years ago where Gerard gets pissed with them for laughing and fooling around while he is trying to tell the interviewer a story about something and he snaps 'You guys had better shut up!' and they immediately are silent. It was wierd, I was like 0_o. This would make sense as SS said he did not want to piss him off or fight with him because he would get the silent treatment for days on end and make the rest of the band feel like they had to take sides. Although Gerard comes across really sweet and shy, sometimes I think he has an aggressive side to him that we never see. You know what they say about it always being the quiet ones you need to watch out for and it is obvious he has a moody streak. But he also has a magnetism that means people are drawn to him which is why he gets away with it.
Or while we are taking this to extremes...what if the the rabbit comment means she's pregnant??? HMMMM...What if the double letters means she's pregnant with...TWINS??

Oh and I forgot to say, I actually will miss SS if he never posts again because out of all these mysterious blogs his was the only one that was written in plain English and I could actually understand what he was saying. The others are so cryptic they could be twisted to mean anything at all.
I'm not sure who Ignotus is, but I felt that he could be SS. I think he may have been speaking in third person there. Has he had any other blogs besides that particular one?
Ignotus has not had any blogs that I am aware of, he just showed up after SS deleted his blogs. Basically, it started when SS commented a couple of times on Mayo's blog and mentioned how liberating it was to get things off his chest, so I assume he then created an account so he could just blog his thoughts privately as a kind of therapy. But what happened was he chose the URL Shitsubou Shita. He wrote one blog entry then must have realised that if anyone tried to find him it would be easy as his URL was the same as his user name, although he never commented using his logged in name (which shows up in blue writing)so to me that says he didn't want people knowing he kept a blog. Anyway, he then deleted the one and only blog entry and chose another URL which was www.iamthemodernprometheus.blogspot.com and started using that. I know the internet is never 100% secure but he probably figured that nobody would ever find him with such an obscure URL. The trouble is somebody was able to retrieve his deleted blog as it was still stored in googles cache before it was flushed and from there that old blog somehow led them to find the new blog. SS must have thought he was covering his tracks by deleting and changing URL's but obviously that backfired. Someone posted the link to his private blogs and so he deleted them.
So Ignotus hasn't had an entry anywhere else but the Mayo blog before this "Rabbits and Gloves" one? I knew how SS suddenly became MIA, but I felt he returned in the form of Ignotus. I think someone also said that Ignotus was Latin for "unknown" and the derivatives thereof. Kinda threw up a red flag.
FYI before SS deleted his blogs he had pactum serva written at the top of his page which is Latin for keep the faith. After he deleted his blogs he replaced it with absit iniuria verbis which means let injury by words be absent. SS is one hell of a sweet guy he seems so loyal and sincere and at the first sign his blogs may be damaging to the reputation of his friend or the band he deleted them. I truly believe he cares about all of us and how we are feeling and is hoping we won't give up on Gerard and the band. I for one will be standing by this amazing band, I don't approve of the antics of the lead singer but there are 5 guys in this band I love and as long as they continue to make amazing music I will be listening.

I also felt Ignotus was none other than SS. I think he finds it interesting to see what we have to say especially as the majority of people here are 'mature' and that probably gives our opinions more credability. If SS is who I think he is then it totally makes sense that he would care about opinions of the fans and be distressed at the thought of any of us losing faith.

I agree that there are four other members of this band, and the entire band should not be written off due to the behavior of one of them. OTOH, as some of you know, my main problem with what's going on now is the message they seem to be sending out to the fans, the hypocrisy. Verita Venom pointed this out in his/her blog, the godawful ugly lyrics that MSI sings and how it's the same thing Gerard always spoke out against.
Where are the other four guys while this is going on? They have to let this happen, too. Why didn't anyone say, "Hey, this is the exact opposite of what we've been telling kids for years and now we're showing it to them on OUR stage, can we really let this happen?" You know? So that's my concern.

Completely agree with you kapunua. I have thought the exact same thing. Where are they and what exactly do they have to say about this MSI/MCR European tour? Do the other four have any say, or is there just one mastermind behind the whole thing? Is it all Gerard's doing? Do the other four agree with the impression MSI gives to their own fans, and quite possibly MCR fans? I don't really know how much say the label has in who they tour with, so the five of them may not have any choice. I highly doubt that though. I have a feeling someone is pulling the strings with this one.

I don't 100% believe that those blogs were meant to be private. Yes things were done to make it hard to find them but as I've said before why make them here with all of us watching Mayo's blog. I think SS may have wanted Mayo to see those and use us to get them to Mayo. I think the problem may have come in when someone other than Mayo may have had a bad reaction to them. I also think SS may have done them to let us know that others feel the way we do.
On this being most hated crew it is possible but I don't think this fits there style also I think they would have been shut down by now if that was true. I think they would have time to do blogs. Its not like they are writing novels and they are on a break right now. They are always text messaging people so they maybe fast at typing. If these blogs aren't done by who we all suspect they are than I think its just a bunch of asshole kids playing a joke. I don't think anyone close to the band or who was close to the band would risk the trouble something like these blogs would cause. Without a VERY good reason.
I'm still at a complete loss as to why someone (management, Reprise, Warner Bros., other higher-ups, or even a member of the band) hasn't stepped up to the plate to combat the major, band-affecting rumors that are floating around. It wouldn't take much searching, a simple Google search and you find something fishy. But, then again, someone may have caught wind of the things being said, known the accusations were false, so they would then have no need to defend the reputation of the band. Everything's just kind of in purgatory, a suspended atmosphere.
A statement would be nice but i don't think that is how they do things. I don't really remember them ever doing anything about the rumors that go around about them. I guess they feel if they ignore them they will go away or they don't want the fans to suffer.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I would have never known the first thing about the band had they not played PR. So, no. I would have never even noticed this woman, nor would I have noticed this band.
I think the public outcries are coming from two different places though. One source being the fans who are disgruntled with Gerard for having a wife... and having a wife that's in a band that gains some attention. The second source being the fans who aren't sure of the motives (if there are any) behind taking a band out that doesn't represent, lyrically or possibly personally, the mindset of the members of MCR. I don't think the two issues can be lumped together, because in my opinion, they're two very different things. But I agree with you. This band wouldn't have, on their own, received the amount of recognition that they are now that Gerard is involved.

Honestly, no but Gerard needs to learn how to take responsibility when you are doing childish antics in public. He should realize by now what they would do to the countless fans. I prefer that we stop mentioning MSI all together. They will only desire the constant attention, which is why I am trying not to mention them so much in my blogs. They are not worth my attention. My main focus is MCR and Gerard because they are the ones that matter.

If Gerard wasn't married to Lyn Z but was still taking MSI in tour (not that I think that would be likely since their "message", but anyway,) then yes, I would obviously still have a problem with it. The only reasons I care about what Gerard does with his personal life are that, for one thing, I care as a person who doesn't like to see other people screw up, and mostly because it looks like he's screwing up the whole band.
I found out about their lyrics when I read Verita's post and I was shocked and disgusted. I don't want my kid cousins listening to that kind of garbage. Those aren't the words that I want going into their minds. The whole "get on your knees bitches" mentality. (And let's not even get into the "Five Year Old Panty SHot" one.) Either way, I would take issue with it.
But what's even more appalling--never mind how I feel about those lyrics--just look at how Gerard claimed to feel about lyrics like that. That's the real shocking part of this. So not only are they taking this trashy, demeaning band out with them to show to all their young fans, but now they are hypocrites as well because it's the exact thing (only worse!) that Gerard used to rail against constantly.
So tell me, Mr. Way, what changed?
Just woke up, so this may not be as coherent as I'd like it to be, but here goes anyway.
The other four guys in the band are sweet, but I have a feeling that they usually give in to Gerard's wishes because it's easier than trying to oppose him. Even though there are five guys in the band, Gerard is the 'brainchild'. And personality-wise, he seems a lot deeper and more... driven, somehow... when it comes to the band's game plan. I'm not saying that the other five don't contribute or care as much as he does -- I'm sure they do. But Gerard doesn't project the same sweetness and inherent goodness as Frank, Ray, Bob & Mikey. He has more classic type-A tendencies than the rest of them, and I think he'd be extremely frustrating to debate with. We've all seen his stubbornness (in shows, interviews, LOTMS, and over the events of this year), and it takes someone with the same degree of stubbornness to see a disagreement to its end. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think Gerard is most likely the puppetmaster, and the other four end up going along with whatever he decides because it's easier than trying to oppose him.
I agree wholeheartedley with the 'two different places' theory. And being adults, I think that most of us don't really care who he's with AS LONG AS it doesn't end up hurting him or the band. The whole MSI lyrics issue ties into it (because of what band Lyn-Z is in), but it's not the real issue for most of us.
Because Gerard has always been so vocal about what My Chem stands for, to see him take a band that represents everything he spoke against on tour just because he fell for the bass player just isn't making sense. We don't know for a fact that the other four guys DIDN'T speak up -- who's to say Gerard would listen? Poor Mikey, who gets to come back in the middle of a shitstorm. What I wouldn't give to see inside HIS brain right about now. ^_^

Mikey Way, now there is someone who definitely has his own set of issues to deal with. Anybody else think that it's just a tiny bit odd that someone who supposedly dreams of being a rock star their whole life leaves the band at the peak of their success? The biggest tour? The most successful record? For a honeymoon? For time with his wife? Didn't he meet his wife on the road? I thought she liked hanging with rockstars and such.

I was just thinking that regardless of whether or not Mikey's return the the band will have a positive effect on MCR, given Mikey's own issues with depression and what not, what kind of effect will the current state of MCR have on him?
I completely agree with you sdock10, and it's painfully evident Mikey's got his own set of problems to deal with and to overcome. And I hope the time that he's had, although it was a "honeymoon", has helped in a way that was beneficial to his health. But I can't help but to think that Mikey is as concerned for Gerard's health and well-being as Gerard is for Mikey's. I don't think I'm wrong in saying that. Those two seem to forever be joined at the hip in mind, body, and spirit. Maybe having him back on the road with the guys will make it feel new to them, make them feel like a reborn band. Maybe having Mikey back will allow Gerard to face, head-on, any problems he may be dealing with or may have dealt with in his absence.
Mikey definitely has his own issues. It always seemed to me like he was along for the ride and Gerard was driving. I'm not sure how much "help" he is going to be to this situation when the next tour comes. Strikes me as the type to just go along with things instead of speaking up to Big Bro.

I agree with you Anon about Mikey being along for the ride. I'm not entirely sure this is Mikey's dream at all. Maybe he walked away because he was fed up with something. Maybe these stories about depression and panic attacks are true...maybe not. Wouldn't be the first time this band stretched the truth to cover something up.
I've been worries about Mikey, too, but not as much as I've been worrying about Big Bro. Sdock10 nailed it -- Mikey has his own issues. However, given his time off, he seems to be more willing to *face* his issues than Gerard. The vibe may not be good for him, but if he's coming back then it stands to reason that he has made the conscious decision to return. It doesn't appear that Gerard will even admit to having problems, let alone dealing with them.
Of course I have no proof to back up anything I'm saying - it's just my two cents on the whole shebang, based on my own interpretations of things. My hope,. of course, is that Mikey's return will be good for all of them. I truly wish I could believe that...
Well I would like to hear from someone other than Gerard that Mikey is coming back. Gerard might be trying to bully or guilt him into coming back, but like Sis Midnite said earlier this is just MY opinion. Nothing more.
I've always thought it possible that this band my not be Mikey's calling or his dream, that it was Gerard's. But, I then revert back to LOTMS with Mikey's adamant admission that this was the only thing he wanted to do since he was a little boy. He wanted to be in a band. But, I also then think that maybe some things have occured within the band that have made Mikey realise this wasn't what he initially wanted. I don't know. I'm not in the kid's head. But, I'm driving my own self crazy with the possibilties.

I agree with Sdock10. I would like to hear someone else say Mikey is coming back. Kinda seems Gerard may just be trying to bully Mikey into it. Remember at the PR press conference Gerard said Mikey would be back for PR. Well that didn't happen. Now he says Mikey will be back in the fall. Will he really? I hope so but only if it's what he wants. Not if he's just doing it to please Gerard.
