Crossing-over

I am certain that when I die I will become dirt. It would be nice to consider that upon my death golden open arms will greet me, enfolding me into them like a lost child finally returned home, but that’s not how I think. Never has been. It is completely incomprehensible for me to consider that once my life is over I will hang out watching the goings on down at earth while white silk draped, halo wearing, beings circle my head before diving down to intervene in someone or another’s life.

But, I can see the appeal.

And I am relatively certain I won’t burn in eternal damnation, either. Although that option is better suited to my personality and preferential if in fact my theory fails.

What motivates me is here and now...in what I intend as a reciprocal exchange.

This reminds me to ask myself “why am I even here?” I suppose one purpose is to procreate, to replenish human stock while in turn passing on my unique, somewhat maladaptive, genetic map to ensure the future of our type. But, at our current population rate, I do not see human extinction as a concern (that is not to say we won’t run out of natural resources thereby resulting in human extinction through overpopulation). So, as many population experts suggest, I will only replace myself. Although, it was never something I gave much thought.

So, why then? I have no other and a million ideas.

And, I do have considerations beyond the here and now; I get a kick out of the prospect that my progeny might proffer our future world. That, and who will take care of me when I can no longer find my ass?

I hope that I am doing a good job, that all my experience, everything that I have to give, and all that I create proves worthy beyond my own value. I want there to be some “take-away” meaning from how I live. And when I die the only “place” I want to spend eternity is ardently recalled in the generous conversation of my family and friends.

p.s. prosperous just like him.

Good one Ergo.

In fact, if I recall correctly, in all 26 years I've been aboard this ship, Dawn hasn't not shown up yet.

*is off-the-wall and wired for sound tonight*

Sparkle cock? I would ask, but something tells me I'm probably better off not knowing.

So, yes, you're much better off not knowing.

Amy, we apologise for the delay in dawn , this problem should be rectified at some time in the future

I know, isn't it just the... I can't even explain it. I'm irresistibly amused, but horrified on a level just below normalcy.

Part of me wants to add it to the Bachelorette Basket for the Wedding next year, but I'd have to explain it to most of the people at the party, and then it's just not worth it anymore.

every weekends end always seems to come around too fast

it's a rainy day here today, light showers so it isn't so hot, and everything smells nice
I'm watching a documentary on Rowan Atkinson, it's that kind of lie on the couch type weather

toujours said...

a rainy day and rowan atkinson? that sounds like a very pleasant day indeed. :)

it's cool enough here now that i can open my window at night. i love falling asleep to the night sounds and the fresh air.

He is a very brilliant man, it's just up to his Mr Bean period

have you ever seen Jacques Tati as M. Hulot?
I remember seeing them, as weekend midday movies when I was a teen, my Dad got me watching them, he knew I'd love it as I adored the Goons, Pink Panther movies etc
and the documentary said that at high school Rowan saw M. Hulots Holiday and ended up watching it 7 times in one weekend, and you can see how it inspired him to develop Mr Bean

I still have to do the M. Hulot tennis serve if I ever get a racquet (though no one knows what the hell I'm doing!!)

i never have seen any m. hulot (that i know of), but i remember the first time i saw mr. bean -- in a hotel room one summer, flipping through the channels, and stumbled across the episode where he mistakenly orders steak tartar...

like clouds parting, that was. i adored him on the spot. :)

hate to say it, but i must go now. enjoy the rest of the documentary (and the rain!), and i'll chat with you again tomorrow, i hope!

sweet dreams, ergo. :)

oh waht a pain CC, people seem to be incapable of ever turning up when they say
it's almost a shock when someone does!

goodnight TJ

if you ever get the chance watch M Hulot's Holiday (1953), he isn't as incompetent and extreme as Mr Bean (or as subtly nasty underneath) it's almost no dialogue and lots of physical humour and is just charmingly brilliant. Mon Oncle is great too, they are the 2 best known ones outside of France
the tennis serve
if you get a chance at work it's only 48 sec
prior to this he'd not known how to play and someone shows him how, in an exaggerated way as you do of you teach someone, and he follows the example precisely.

i will ergo. :)

mayo,

end of my weekend, and i let it be a lazy one. those are nice, you know?

but i worked on making up a worksheet for my writing -- taking notes on articles about story craft written by a favorite author. i've never really thought about the structure underlying my stories before. to be honest, i've never written anything longer than a short story, so long-term plot development has been rather moot!

it's making me think about my stories in a new way, and i'm beginning to think that maybe this framework he describes will be very useful to me. i like maps, and this is what his advice is, essentially.

and you know, if it doesn't work for me, there's no loss, because i'm sure that in the process of taking one of my orphan plots and applying his system to it, i will learn soemthing valuable about my own ability, whether it harmonizes with his own or not.

it's a very hopeful thing, actually.

maybe i'll end up being a writer after all! quelle surprise!
*grin*

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.

Thank you anon who left me the lyrics. They brought a smile to my face.

Good to see you here Cupcake and congrats!

Okay I totally just sighed heavily. Please don’t take that the wrong way. It’s not that I don’t want to talk to you. It’s that right now I can’t make myself do it. Things aren’t the best in my world at the moment and I guess I’m just trying not to think about it. I know that if I really started to write everything would come pouring out and I’m just not ready for that dam to break. Not now, because I don’t think I would have the strength to repair all the flood damage. Besides it’s like a friend told me … “at this point you either search for some bit of humor in things and laugh or you cry.” I don’t want to cry. It wouldn’t do a fuckin’ bit of good and my eyeliner would totally turn into an Alice Cooper look.

Things will get better. I just have to believe. I will believe. I do believe.

You take care of yourself. Hug those you love, and keep them close in your heart.

Goodnight/morning Mayo, SS, Amy, Ergo, Cupcake, Elena, TJ, Wish, J and L, Jennicula, Anima, CITH (cat in the hat is just too long to type ;P), KOL anon, various other anons and lurkers!!!

Is everyone okay tonight? I hope so!

TJ: I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's cat. If it's of any comfort to you, I do think she's doing the right thing.
It's a decision I've had to make more times than I ever wanted. But there comes a time when we have to put aside our emotional pain and selfishness and think of their pain. We have to love them enough to let them go...

Sometimes it's the most selfless thing we can do. One final act of pure love.

Elena: Were there is life, there is hope!

I read this news story today and was reminded, once again, that miracles DO happen ~ everyday.

~~~Texas boaters fought heat, hunger for week in Gulf~~~
It's about three fishermen from Texas who spent 8 days stranded on top of their capsized boat in the Gulf Of Mexico. No food, little fresh water, horrible heat and sun; but, they never gave up "hope".
I'm loving the fact that they were from a town named "Blessing"! I bet that has a whole meaning for those fishermen, their families and friends now!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugarplum: Guess what?! I got tickets to see the 69 Eyes in October. It's VIP so I get the chance to meet them before or after the show. I'm super excited, I'll definitely try to post pictures! I hope you and your fur babies are well, and I want to wish you a super belated happy birthday. I hope it went well!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you, Sweetcheeks!!!! I don't know if I would say my birthday celebration went 'well'; but, it sure was interesting and FUN! LOL!!! My fur babies are all well (and so is Henry deTurtle). Thank you for asking! How are Bugsy and Chocolate?
YAY for you getting those 69 Eyes VIP tickets!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you (and super excited with you, too)! You're going to love them live! And, you absolutely must get pictures. Well, we have a few weeks to talk about that. I just wanted to say YAY for you!!!!!
8:40 ~ Oh my. Oh my, oh my, OH MY! Dare I ask what that horn is for or don't I want to know?! I am loving that "tail" though!
Amy: That "I sparkle ~ The Vamp" cracks me up!!!! Did you read the reviews? One woman plans to order three and FREEZING them (before using all three ~ at once)!!! LOL!!!
Can you imagine having to "explain" the cause of that frost bite to the emergency room doctors???!!!!
Ergo: How are you, DG, baby girl and those precious chicks? All good, I hope!
Cupcake: I hope you kicked his arse whatever game ya'll played!!! I also hope the guitar stuff arrived all in one piece!
Have a great day, everyone OR
Goodnight and sweet dreams to one an all!!!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
Wouldn't the skirmishes in the Middle East be far more enjoyable and a lot less dangerous if it was fought out with NERF Balls??
Hallo Ladies!!
Ergo, going back to your iSparkle comment from earlier, I noticed that lots of things that aren't televisons are being advertised as HD or High-Definition.
Like markers, crayons, pencil crayons and yes, INKS.
Christ Almighty.
It's like the whole "Simpsons goes HD" thing. To me, it looks like they just took more time drawing the cels and painting them with higher quality inks.
How long will it be before comic books are labelled as High Definition?
Oy!
Hi blog *waves*, hi Elena, Amy, anon(s), Ergo-have fun titoring, lol.
Nerf! It always looked like so much fun. My parents would never buy me one though :(. I'm tempted to get one for my own kids now...they might have to fight me for it.
J, L, are you away? Did I miss something while absent? Hope you guys are okay, in case you happen to pop by :)
ergoproxy said...
no I'm still here
I'm trying to find the name of a maths game thing we had as kids I want to get one if I can
toujours said...
maths game?
that would have been an intrument of torture to my childhood self.
ergoproxy said...
well I can't remember if it was just mats
they were a flat grey case, and inside were square tiles with a number on one side and a piece of a pattern on the other, you had a booklet of questions, and you answered them and it meant you put the numbers in a certain order, then you would close it, turn it over, and if you got it right there was a pattern when you reopened it, and it would match the pattern in the book
we called them a "something" set
I need to ask my aunt, she'd remember them but I can't call her as she would be teaching.
I used to know the name
you used to have one each, and primary schools had class sets, I'm sure, seeing as they don't seem to use them anymore they'd be for sale somewhere
I just remember they were fun
ergoproxy said...
maths not mats
toujours said...
i'm not sure we had anything like that in my elementary school -- at least, i don't remember anything like that. we had flash cards, "fun" worksheets, that sort of thing.
ergoproxy said...
this is really annoying me now, lol I think it had questions in english too now, like comprehension, but Icannot recall
I will have to call my aunt tonight ,otherwise it'll drive me nuts
I've googles umpteen things with no luck
so how are you?
toujours said...
i'm not too bad.
i hate it when i can't remember something! you'll probably wake up in the middle of the night with the name of it, you know. :)
ergoproxy said...
probably will
I have a name in my head but I don't know if it's right, I've googled it and it comes up with nothing and I would think i'd get something if it was right
but they were around over 20 years ago
Is it still cooler over there? It's actually raining here today
toujours said...
yeah, it was still cool -- a nice breeze, no humidity. seems like autumn has arrived. :)
now that the humidity seems to be done with, i think i'll be able to resume my monring walks, that will be very nice.
ergoproxy said...
I love walking in the mornings, but it's starting to get hot, I often listen to science podcasts while I walk, so it's learning and exercise.
I find it nice and relaxing, time to sort out your thoughts and refresh
Oh I have a pic to show you too, I thought of you, hang on
toujours said...
ooh, a pic! okay! :D
ergoproxy said...
this guy was flying about at the dam, he was really low, looking for dropped food and was just hovering and swooping on the breeze. At one point he went down to the water to pick up a little dead fish we had seen earlier in front of us, as he flew up he brought his feet forward and bent his head down to check he had it, looked really cute
ergoproxy said...
I thought of you as you so often say how you see birds when you walk, we have heaps of hawks andkites and things in this area
hubby found one of these, Australian Kestrels by the road dead and brought it home, it was sad it had been hit but was just amazing to see it close up, it was about 15 inches long, and had such a sharp beak and claws, and was so light
toujours said...
oh, he's lovely! it's so cool when their wingtips look like fingers. what kind of bird is he?
toujours said...
that kestrel looks so soft. :)
it's always such a sad thing to see a dead bird, as if it's against nature to see them on the ground. and when you pick them up, they really do weigh almost nothing, like they aren't quite there at all.
but kestrels -- we called them sparrowhawks in montana -- are so neat to keep an eye out for. there was this one stretch of country road, out in ranch country, where you could always see them sitting on fence posts just like in your picture. they're smaller than you'd think, so you have to keep a sharp eye.
thanks for the pic, ergo! it makes me happy that you thought of me. :)
ergoproxy said...
he is a Whistling Kite, they have a really disticnt call, there was also a Black Kite they ahve a forked tail, where the kite has a wedge
toujours said...
i don't think i've ever seen any kites out here, or at least not that i knew i was seeing! the tail is very cool, quite dramatic. :)
ergoproxy said...
we see lots of raptors here, they like to hunt the grassy paddocks, we even have Wedge Tiled Eagles which are the biggest raptors over here, they are gorgeous
Also Brahminy Kites that are a copper orange on the back and wings and pure white underneath, they are beautiful, Sea Eagles are a lot bigger and grey on the back and white below
There are a lot of types, one hawk hunts at night, and a few hover while they hunt
toujours said...
oh shoot! i just caught sight of the clock -- it's past time for me to be skedaddling off to bed, i'm afraid. fooey.
good night, ergo -- i do hope you figure out the name of that game!
and thanks again for posting the pic -- i always like seeing bits and pieces from your part of the world. :)
mayo,
i thought about what i might write to you tonight while i was brushing my teeth, and to be honest, although topics came through my mind, nothing stuck.
coming back down the hall here to the den, i passed my open door, and the night air was sweet and cool. i get to sleep with my window open again tonight, and the scent of the darkness outside made the whole guestroom the most inviting place in the world.
so i guess my mind is just seduced away from your ramble to one of my own through the dreaming newly autumn night. sorry about that. *grin*
but, as always, i wish you well, and sweet dreams of your own, and may your tomorrow be refreshing to your heart, mind, and spirit.
Maybe one is delusional, thinking that maybe somewhere; somehow the fairytales/myths/nightmares are actually just that.
"Dreams"
World turns black and white
Pictures in an empty room
Your love starts fallin' down
Better change your tune
Yeah, you reach for the golden ring
Reach for the sky
Baby, just spread your wings
We'll get higher and higher
Straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher
Leave it all behind
Run, run, run away
Like a train runnin' off the track
Got the truth bein' left behind
Falls between the cracks
Standin' on broken dreams
Never losin' sight, ah
Well just spread your wings
We'll get higher and higher
Straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher
Leave it all behind
So baby dry your eyes
Save all the tears you've cried
Oh, that's what dreams are made of
'Cause we belong in a world that must be strong
Oh, that's what dreams are made of
Yeah, we'll get higher and higher
Straight up we'll climb
Higher and higher
Leave it all behind
Oh, we'll get higher and higher
Who knows what we'll find?
So baby dry your eyes
Save all the tears you've cried
Oh, that's what dreams are made of
Oh baby, we belong in a world that must be strong
Oh, that's what dreams are made of
And in the end on dreams we will depend
'Cause that's what love is made of
I've always been rather fond of this one
Contact is all it takes
To change your life to lose your
Place in time
Contact! asleep or awake
Coming around you may wake up
To find
Questions deep within your
Eyes,
Now more than ever you realize
So when you sense a change
Nothing feels the same
All your dreams are strange,
Love comes walkin' in
Some kind of alien
Waits for the opening
Then simply pulls a string
Another world, some other time
You lay your sanity on the line
Familiar faces familiar sights
Reach back remember with all
Your might
Ohh there she stands in a
Silken gown
Silver lights shining down
So when you sense a change
Nothing feels the same
All your dreams are strange,
Love comes walkin' in
Some kind of alien
Waits for the opening
Then simply pulls a string, love
Comes walkin' in
Solo
Sleep and dream is all i crave
I travel far across the milky way
To my master i become a slave
Tel we meet again some other day
Where silence speaks as loud
As war
And the earth returns to what it
Was before
So when you sense a change
Nothing feels the same
All your dreams are strange,
Love comes walkin' in
Some kind of alien
Waits for the opening
Then simply pulls a string, love
Comes walkin' in
On this day of your life, we believe God wants you to know...
... wealth does not come from your bank account, wealth comes from the depth of your heart.
What you really want is happiness. You might believe that a fat bank account will get you there, but that's false. Happy people are happy rich or poor, unhappy people are unhappy rich or poor. Money simply masks your real being by giving you activities to occupy your mind. Don't fool yourself, recession or not, your true wealth comes from your heart and is always only there.
Great choice 7:27. I'm rather fond of that one too. One of their most beautiful lyrically.
This is another fav of mine. It's more about the music with this one.
(Ain't that some shit?)
(Okay, ya ready to go?)
(Yeah)
Oh yeah!
Yeah! She's gotta have soul
Or it won't feel right
Well, just plain, clean, and simple
Wrapped up nice n' tight
And homegrown and down-home, that makes one
Cookin' up that old time, long lost recipe for me. Woo!
It's gettin' hard to find
Guess it ain't hip enough now
You take an average guy, he can't identify, uh
And there's a short supply of her fine, fine stuff
Lemme get on, lemme get on, lemme get on some o' that
Shake it up, bake it up nice, uh!
Lemme get on, lemme get on, lemme get on all that
I so love my baby's poundcake
Homegrown and down-home, yeah that's the one
Still cookin' with that old time, long lost recipe
Lemme get on some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. I want some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. Gimme some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho-ow!
(Guitar Solo)
Ooh, got some real fine pound...poundcake. Ah
I've been out there
Tried a little bit of everything
But it's all sex without love
I found the real thing is poundcake
Homegrown and down-home, yeah that's the one
Still cookin' with that old time, long lost recipe, yeah. Woo!
She's down-home and down-home. Oh, that's my woman
Gimme some o' that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. Lemme hold that
Uh-ah uh-ho ho. Uh!
Uh-ah uh-ho ho
Homegrown and down-home, woo! Come on babe
Gimme some o' that, gimme some o' that
Homegrown, way down-home. Yeah!
Uh-ah uh-ho ho, yeah, gimme some o' that. Woo!
C'mon baby
Homegrown, homegrown, down-home
Uh-ho ho-ac
OK. It's the lyrics too. :)
~~~HONEY AND SULFUR???

Ohhh, look... a "Loup Garou"!!!!

:D

For those who wish to sing along with me and Amy, the lyrics:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Praeclarum
Custodem
Ovium
Lupum
All Saints Day, the taint of rain
Blood and mud and thunder all the same
To those who close their ranks to Gille's men
Bricqueville, Prelati and De Sille
Creatures of the dark creeping up and down the countryside
Little angles out to pastume once again
Torture garden rules of thumb apply
To sacred flesh and the naked eye
Golgothic this erotica
Stinking of honey and worse, sulphur
So black was the magic in this tragical kingdom
The superstitions grew
Wise to the wolves that surprised their children
Gagged in sacks and dragged back to
Tiffauges
It's roads now home to a beautiful stranger
Lifting her veil
Spinning her lies
Tender eyes, never-ending danger
It grows
A rose that chose death for it's bedmuck
Prickles in wait
Thanking her spies
Trickling thighs her only hiccup
And though she walks the forest trails
She's far from innocent or frail
She leads them down the path where darkness dwells
That night is rife with celebration
The tower sings
Where so much foul illumination
Strikes a lighthouse for the things
That slither and slather at the border of the pentagram
Mid sour dreams
A beauty pageant for the gathering damned
Of slaughtered lambs and tortured screams
Praeclarum
Custodem
Ovium
Lupum
Torture garden rules of thumb apply
To sacred flesh and the naked eye
Golgothic this erotica
Stinking of honey and worse, sulphur
So black was the magic in this tragical kingdom
In this castle of loup-garou
When moonstruck veins, inflamed, deranged on
A parcel of victims now tied to
Tiffauges
Engorged on the hordes of the anorexic
Cherubim forced
Naked and blind
A holocaust mind designed their exit
A libertine so grim
Sometimes tore them limb from limb
Slitting their throats
Pissing on graves
Jesus save but the devil made him
Praeclarum
Custodem
Ovium
Lupum
Amyranth said...
She took a radio to the head and she'll still perform? Right on!
Can't help but wonder what retaliation the co-star got.
Amyranth said...
Sibilant and macabre
Walpurgis sauntered in
Skies litten with five-pointed stars
The work of crafts surpassing sin
As She graced Her window ledge
- An orphaned gypsy nymph
This issue of the forest's bed
Skin flushed with sipped absinthe -
Her eyes revealed, as Brocken's peak
Tried once concealing Hell
A snow white line of divine freaks
In riot, where they fell...
The circus lurches in, a ring of promised delight
For seven days and seven festival nights
What wicked wonders lie within the comfines
Of the panther's den
She watches from a maypole, on the rip of Her tongue
The restless spirit of Christmas to come
A Gretel sick of merely sucking Her thumb
Than gingerbread men
Spawned scorned, abhorred by the aerial
She was the light of the world going down
War-torn, forlorn and malarial
She was found
Born in a burial gown
Unloosed, the chain of Her god-given cross
Seduced, now pagan ribbons swathe Her repose
In a carnival of souls sold and similarly lost
Too many decades misfit and mislaid
In innocence, a tender legend of prey
Parades Her second coming, now they're running afraid
Spawned scorned, abhorred by the aerial
She was the light of the world going down
War-torn, forlorn and malarial
She was found
Born in a burial gown
Now She moves with a predator's guile
Beyond the firelit circle of life
She soothes your cold heart for a while
Then matches its beat, synching in with a knife
She wrestles Her dreams with a delicate case
Espied by Her cross on the wall
And should She awake, through embrace or mistake
She would take Jesus
Bless foot forward and all...
Sibilant and at last
The circus crawled away
With another lover in its arms
Dancing on Her grave...
Okay, I've moved on to Darren Hayes now. Crazy playlist, sorry!
Anon616 said...
On behalf of Cate Blanchett: OUCH!!!!
It could have been worse. She could have been hit by an actual Street Car!
I've had to dodge quite a few, myself!
ergoproxy said...
I hadn't heard of any fires about there now, so if there are they can't be serious
our news is full of the earthquake in indonesia earlier today, it was a bad one
I do like this story too:
A POLICE dog has stopped a machete-wielding would-be car thief in his tracks at Tingalpa on Brisbane's southside early this morning.
Police said two men were allegedly trying to break into an early model Toyota Hilux utility in Vane Street about 12.15am when they were disturbed by the naked owner.
He smashed the side window with his fist and then the windscreen before grabbing the keys from one of the alleged offenders.
Police arrived on the scene and chased the pair who were heard yelling "get the gun".
A police dog was then sent after them, which bit one of the men on the upper thigh as he tried to kick it.
Police said the man was armed with a small machete.
He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to the leg wound.
He is expected to be charged later today and police are confident of finding his alleged accomplice.
Anon616 said...
When contrary winds blow across the sands
Their murmurs can be easily swayed
But when storms quicken one cannot placate
The howling of their murderous rages
Winged seraphim hold loves trembling hand
Beside our waiting graves
As war roars about our precious land
Seeking cause to subjugate
Tonight in flames
Tonight the world will fear our names
Tonight in flames
Stay my feeble heart
Our deaths will be the start
Of something glorious and vain
Tonight in flames
There is no fanaticism as virile as faith
To the blind his words are clear
Suffer not the infidel! Suffer not the infidel!
Assure your place in paradise here
Winged seraphim hold loves trembling hand
Beside her tiny grave
I will avenge her, do or damned
Her sacred mother did the same
Tonight in flames
Tonight the world will fear our names
Tonight in flames
Stay my feeble heart
Our deaths will be the start
Of something glorious and vain
Tonight in flames
I went to see her dance one day
In a play by a wailing wall
Now she is gone
But the song lives on
Zealous and maniacal
The Eastern sword must fall
If this world is wearing thin
And you're thinking of escape
I'll go anywhere with you
Just wrap me up in chains
But if you try to go alone
Don't think I'll understand
Stay with me
Stay with me
In the silence of your room
In the darkness of your dreams
You must only think of me
There can be no in between
When your pride is on the floor
I'll make you beg for more
Stay with me
Stay with me
You'd better hope and pray
That you make it safe
Back to your own world
You'd better hope and pray
That you'll wake one day
In your own world
Coz when you sleep at night
They don't hear your cries
In your own world
Only time will tell
If you can break the spell
Back in your own world
Stay with me
Stay with me
Stay, stay with me
Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
Stay with me
mayo,
now comes the fun part: after all the stress from the recent work politics, i finally get my reward. my boss went on vacation, and i'm bumped up to acting store manager in her absence. i get the store all to myself.
i never would have thought that would be a reward, i never would have though i'd even be capable of running a shop! but i like it, it's satisfying.
oh of course, it's majorly stressful when all the customers descend at once and i've only had time to take a single bite from my sandwich...but at the end of the day, no matter what happened, i get to tidy up, and count the till, and turn off the lights. i lock the door on my shop, then.
so unexpected.
seriously, you never really know what tomorrow will bring. think back on yourself ten years ago, or even just five years, or two years...could you have imagined the life you have now? i know i couldn't have, wouldn't have.
it's not all good, of course. there are things that have happened that i would not have wanted to imagine.
but it is all an adventure.
good night, mayo. (don't forget to pack your machete for the rough parts.)
think back on yourself ten years ago...could you have imagined the life you have now?
Could you Mayo? SS? Toujours? Everyone?
Is the life you're living more than you hoped for or less? Are you living your dream, a nightmare or something in between? Are you happy, fulfilled and satisfied or are you trying to convince yourself that you're where you want to be?
Anonymous said...
Go to a mirror everyone. Look into your own eyes for 30 seconds. 1 half of a minute.
Can you do it? Do you like what you see?
Are you happy with you?
That's where it all starts. That's where it ends. With you.
I'm waiting. Tell me how all the problems in your life are the fault of other people. How your happiness or unhappiness has nothing to do with you. How it all comes from the outside. How nothing comes from within. Tell me all about being self absorbed. Please.
Thank you! And I am now going to acknowledge the human need to sleep, so I will be going after my little visit, but I thank you for the warm welcome. Good night, all.
Good night 3:58 and welcome to the human race. Where we acknowledge our mistakes and accept responsibility for our own lives. Most of us.
