Set to self-destruct.

The saddest girl
In the whole world
Sits in thirty day
Thinks she owns it.
Models herself a pro
With every word just so
Crack answers for everything
And a lie to keep you guessing
Is she real or just made-up.

She says she's lost her life
And can't tell where to find it.
So she sold her soul for the high
Of the sweet synthetic lullaby.
Where's the bottom when you need it?

The saddest girl
In the whole world
Just told the doctor she's fine
The problem isn't mine
"It's them." and they've ruined me
And all that I could ever be.
So now she has a new disguise
and half-way covers her eyes
with a crystal crooked crown
Slipping just missing her frown.

She says she's lost her life
And can't tell where to find it.
So she sold her soul for the high
Of the sweet synthetic lullaby.
Where's the bottom when you need it?

She used to be a little girl
The sweetest you've ever seen.
Now she's just a tracing
Of a near broke beauty queen.

I took Logan to my parents home and we took him to a cemetary close to their house for burial. It's so peaceful there, in the woods; a very pretty place. He passed away in my arms, and I know he knew I was there. He is missed so much. I know to some it seems odd to be attached to a pet, but if you don't have kids, and especially when you've had the little fur babies for a long time (Logan was 7 years old, and I got him when he was 2) it hurts to seem them go.

I know you guys know where I'm coming from, and that your fur babies are precious to you too.

I will be back later on, and hope everyone is having a great day!

Love you dearly,

L.

that sounds like such a lovely cemetery, l., and i'm glad you were able to find such a beautiful resting place for logan.

my grandparents always had cats, indoor and outdoor ones, and they buried them under one of the orange trees in the backyard (my grandparents' neighborhood had once been an orange grove). it's against the law or the code or something to do that, though, at least there in santa ana, and so when my mom and aunt closed up the house and got it ready to sell, all they could do was remove all the little markers and keep quiet about the tiny graveyard.

but i remember how it looked there in the shade under the tree...it was one of the things i liked about my grandparents, that they cared so much for their kitties. at the time we kids had only had goldfish as pets, and those didn't usually receive burials. taking the time to bury your pet seemed to me like a deep-hearted act.

anyway, hugs to l. and j.

mayo,

very tired all of a sudden, so i'm going to say good night.

i've been keeping one foot here in the castle tonight, but mostly i've been looking for the authors that particularly inspire me -- i've been feeling like i really need to get back into a creative community, and the only writer's group i've been able to find in the area just meets to read each other their poetry.

not exactly what i'm looking for, you know?

so i'm putting together a virtual writer's group, compiling a blogroll of writers and artists. tonight i found jim butcher's lj -- it hasn't been updated in forever but that doesn't mitigate its worth -- he lays out his whole system for creating novels, and it's fascinating to read. i don't know if i can put together a story that way, but it really fired up my mind, got me to thinking about just how do i craft my own stories, anyway?

i'm really slow; it takes me a long time to process things and get going. (of course, other times, i make leaps off cliffsides, so it all balances out.) i think i'm finally figuring out where and what i need next, putting it back together after the (welcome) chaos the road trip wrought on my plans.

contrary to that whole solitary artist sterotype, creative people need other creative people, creativity needs to feed on creativity. i hope reading these blogs will be a help in keeping me focussed on my goals.

fingers crossed!

as always, wishing you a good night, and a beautiful day tomorrow. sweet dreams, mayo.

Mayo

I haven’t been around much last couple of days because I’m sick. Actually sicker than a dog, my grandma would have said. Apologies to all dogs out there because I wouldn’t wish this on them. Truth be told I fell like I’ve been hit by a Mack Truck. And yet another dog reference. If you don’t understand that one, don’t worry. I’m guessing you probably don’t drive a lot of big rigs. Of course I could be wrong, Maybe you drive an 18 wheeler and hang out in truck stops. I dunno. All I do know at the moment is my head is pounding and my stomach is churning. I’ve slept a ton and now I’m too tired to sleep. That is never good.

Anyway, hope you’re feeling on top of the world. Take care and don’t get sick.

Night Mayo

Elena (I swear I just spelled Elena wrong my first try. Holy crap I feel like shit)

Get well soon Elena.

Sorry to hear about Logan OPL.

Best wishes to everyone.

OMG I can't believe I wrote that! LOL

Oh sickness and me don't really do well together.

But thanks for the get well wish, anon. I actually got out of bed this morning and didn't feel like a truck had run over me. I'm taking that as a good sign.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh and now I can't get the idea of Trucker Mayo out of my head LOL

Good morning.

I'm glad you're feeling better today, Elena. I hope it lasts. Your daughter is lovely, by the way.

OPJ and OPL, I am so sorry for your loss. You were lucky to have had your little guy in your lives for seven years and he was certainly lucky to have had you. My heart goes out to you.

For Wendy, PP, FASC and other KOL fans, here is a clip from last night's T in the Park where the band was headlining the main stage. Caleb is looking particularly green-eyed and sassy these days. ^_~ With the boys in Europe headlining so many of the summer festivals right now, there is so much KOL goodness I can't even begin to post even a fraction of it here. I'm actually thinking of making a KOL blog.

And especially for you Wendy, but also for anybody else who is interested, here is a good quality version of "Lucifer" which was recorded just recently in Germany. Hope you enjoy. ^_^

Have a great weekend, everybody.

P.S. Hope the video works for you. Youtube is being a bit of a bitch today. :/

Crawl

You fault, my pride,
Don't ever need t'apologize,
As your lips unfold,
Shakin' purple from the cold

You better learn to crawl,
You better learn to crawl,
Before I walk away,
Before I walk away

You broke, my mouth,
The bloody bits are spittin' out
Your grave, unscathed,
The worm is countin' down the day

He wants to see you crawl,
He wants to see you crawl,
Before I walk away,
Before I walk away

The reds and the whites and the abused,
The crucified USA,
As the hypocrisy unfolds,
All hell is surely on its way

The rat and the fly,
They're searchin' for an alibi,
As we wait the wrath,
They never went to Sunday mass

They want to see us crawl,
They want to see us crawl,
Before they walk away,
Before they walk away

The reds and the whites and the abused,
The crucified USA,
as their hypocrisy unfolds,
all hell is surely on its way

Original Punk J said...

Did I miss a sale or something? Man, it's deserted here.

Anon at 10.17 AM and KOL anon, thank you both from both of us. L said just a minute ago that it seems so weird for Logan not to be here. He stayed in the living room, which is where we have the computer, and a TV. We'd always hear him sneezing, or maybe 'thumping' us if we were too loud and he couldn't hear "24". He loved classical music, AC/DC, Elvis Costello, and punk (go figure). He was a special little bunny. Thanks to everyone who's expressed their condolences, we appreciate them all.

toujours said...

hi j., logan sounds like he had a ton of personality. :)

Original Punk J said...

Oh, he did, TJ. It's a wonder it all fit in his tiny little body!

toujours said...

*hee* the smaller the creature, the more packed with personality. :)

i'm also grinning at frank over on twitter -- that pic ray posted? i should be cross -- defacing a tree! D: -- but it just amuses em instead. :)

toujours said...

i meant, amuses me. i don't know if it amuses them. lol

Original Punk J said...

Frank, a knife, and a defenseless tree...there really was no chance. ;)

You know, Silly String might have been fun to use instead. Much more colorful. Stickier, too. It's good to have sticky things. Sometimes...

Ok, gotta get off THAT train of thought!

toujours said...

lol, back to the tree, j., back to the tree!!

it didn't actually look like too deep a cut. i think the tree will survive our favorite vandal. :)

Original Punk J said...

I can see it now...the gleam of mischief in his eyes, the "hee hee I'm crafty" grin on his face, getting the rest of the guys to be lookouts. Yep, he's Frank Lero, graffiti-carver!

Frank would know that I'm kidding. I KID! I KID!

toujours said...

and apparently, ray was there to document the event.

those goofs. :)

Original Punk J said...

It's along the same lines as "Kilroy Was Here", except cooler and not so "Who?"

toujours said...

i'm also looking at the comic-con schedule -- every year i look at it, and every year i feel almost sick that once again i'm not in a position to attend. *sigh*

this year, the guys from mythbusters are going to be there, how cool is that? and a ton of my favorite artists -- terry moore and jeff smith and the guy who created scott pilgrim...and charles vess, omygod i love his work and he's going to be doing a thingy with jill thompson,a live art demonstration...

*dying*

and of course, gerard talking about his new stuff, and also a voice acting panel with advice on breaking into that field...

and ohmygod bruce campbell. ohmygod.

i wonder if he's going to auction off his spare socks again?

when i was married, we always talked about going (my ex is a perpetually-aspiring cartoonist), but never did because we never did anything we talked about doing, and then after the divorce i was rediscovering my love of music and the art thing took a back seat for a little while...

i hate saying "maybe next year", i really do, but...

*sigh*

maybe next year.

toujours said...

"frankie was here" lol

i like that he put the year on it. that's important.

i'm always stunned by the sheer overwhelming amount of people that i want to see that are going to be there.

Original Punk J said...

Got the proof right there, in woodchips.

"Franky was here." I like it. Or, so he wouldn't be a suspect, would he write "Ray was here"? :D

toujours said...

nah, he wouldn't do that -- he'd be proud of his handywork, don't you think?

Original Punk J said...

I wish you could go to Comic-Con too, TJ. It does sound, and look, interesting. Although I'm not a serious comic nerd, I COULD be if I let myself. :D

Amyranth said...

*growl*

Original Punk J said...

Hmm, you do make a valid point, TJ. :)

Amy? Why are you growling?

Amyranth said...

Just got my last cellphone bill. They cancelled my contract and I now owe them around $500.

So I get to call them on Monday after work and fight a little I think. I got charged for 3 years of contract when I only have 4 months left. And I wasn't behind that far on my payments. AND they didn't give me any notice that I was up for permanent cancellation. In fact, the last time I talked to a rep, she just told me that I needed to make sure I was getting money on my bill every month, which I was.

Oy vey.

Sorry, I know, this really isn't the place or the time.

toujours said...

oh, amyranth, how crappy is that? i'd growl, too.

j., if i do manage to ever get my butt over to comic-con, i'll be sure to update you personally. i mean, you want a long weekend of endless geek girl posts, right? right? *heh*

Original Punk J said...

Why not? This is where we come to talk about everything, so why shouldn't it be the time AND the place?

That whole "charging for 3 years" sounds peculiar. It sounds like they got the wrong customer, maybe.

Original Punk J said...

Oh, yeah, definitely TJ! And I want huge, long, rambling, detail-crammed, sqeeing, gushy reports every 15 minutes, alright? Good.

Original Punk J said...

Good choice in movies, not frank Lero. Have you ever seen one called "Ring of Terror"?

Carving "anonymous" on a tree might take some time. Would you be offended if we shortened it to "anon '09"?

And, how're you doing tonight?

Amyranth said...

Anon 09, how about I etch your name in a stone instead? It's not going to hurt a tree, and you could have it mounted in a necklace.

Amyranth said...

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Anonymous '09"

Doo-doo, doo-doo-doo-doo. Doo-Doo, doo-doo-doo-doo.

not frank Lero said...

shorten as much as you wish.

i like the stone idea. can i have it mounted on a ring instead of a necklace?

Original Punk J said...

Amy, do you know a lot about sake sets? L found one this week that's really pretty: baby blue background with some flowers and a blue and red bird with a long, narrow beak. It also has Japanese writing on the bottom. She has a picture that she's going to send you tomorrow. She wanted to know if it's a particularly good set.

not frank Lero said...

i like the sky writing idea but i was thinking about something that would last much longer. i would like to be remembered for more than an hour or two.

Amyranth said...

I'd love to see it J, and now I want sake.

The basic difference between sets are glass versus ceramic. A clear glass set, even with color or painted flowers, are meant for chilled sake only. You can't safely heat sake, or pour heated sake into a clear glass set without breaking it.

The ceramic sets are good for both chilled and heated sake. They tend to hold the heat in a heated sake better as well, but I haven't noticed a difference with chilled.

Damn, now I really want sake.

toujours said...

now i have the mental image of someone wearing an engraved stonehenge on their finger.

Amyranth said...

i like the stone idea. can i have it mounted on a ring instead of a necklace?

What kind of stone, what kind of metal, and how big?

not frank Lero said...

i'll leave you 3 to your etching and mounting.

goodnite.

toujours said...

good point, anon -- petroglyphs are much longer-lasting than what is essentially air pollution.

you could become an archaeological discovery!

Amyranth said...

Teej, I can do Stonehenge. I can't guarantee that you can drag it around with you though.

toujours said...

good night, not-frank, sweet dreams. :)

Original Punk J said...

Etching and mounting? Hmm, that sounds a tad obscene. Or a lot of fun. ;D

Goodnight not frank Lero. Rest well.

Amyranth said...

Bye Not Frank.

not frank Lero said...

jade - heavy metal - big enough to fit, snug enough to not fall off

emerald accents would be nice

Original Punk J said...

Oh, and not frank Lero, if we DO get it etched into Stonehenge, I guarantee people will remember you for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time! It IS a ring, though. A big ring of stones. Goodnight again.

toujours said...

you know, amyranth, they have little table-top versions of stonehenge, they look like ashtrays. maybe a ring wouldn't look so great either.

maybe i'll go back to the geek girlery and let you be the idea guru. yep.

Amyranth said...

Jade with emerald sidestones inset, and titanium band. Gotcha.

Original Punk J said...

That sounds pretty, Amy. I wonder what color of jade nfL wants?

The anon, not the football people. O_o

Amyranth said...

Teej, if I made the stones the band, it might not be so bad. Or I could mount them on top in a small circle...

BRB, gonna get ice cream to fuel the idea machine.

Original Punk J said...

BTW. Sorry about the flamingo, Amy. I didn't want to do it, but TJ made me. *points finger*

I wonder if Elena's feeling any better now. L spoke to her earlier, and she said she was feeling a little better then.

Elena, if you read this, L wants you to know that she now also has a picture of Mayo in a trucker cap. "Thanks for that image," she's calling.

toujours said...

*gasp*

i didn't make you...i merely indicated i wouldn't be adverse to seeing that pink plastic atrocity become the first pyro of the night.

you ran with it, my dear, positively took the idea and zoom!

Original Punk J said...

you ran with it, my dear, positively took the idea and zoom!

...straight into Mayo's room! Man, that was awesome.

*really REALLY hopes Mayo wasn't home*

toujours said...

hehehehe.

that flamingo made such a pretty picture, like a comet shooting across the sky.

and the replacement drapes are much nicer, i think.

Original Punk J said...

Aren't they? And flame-resistant, too!

toujours said...

it's truly amazing what they can do with polymers and lycra these days, mm-hmm.

*whispers*

(and i did a quick repair on the singed spot on the one chair by the window...was able to match the upholstery exactly with some fabric from the quilt shop...mayo will never notice the patch. i hope!)

Amyranth said...

Are the flamingos?

I mean, if you're ordering from the Jet-Fueled Flamingo Catalog again, I might just have to cancel the subscription.

And I forewent icecream in favour of a Sub. With pickles. Yum.

toujours said...

a catalogue of them??

i wondered where mayo was getting all those lawn ornaments.

the plastic deer creep me out.

Amyranth said...

The deer are something else, aren't they Teej?

The only thing that worries me is the giant Elephant in the backyard. I'm hoping it's some kind of deterrent.

Anonymous said...

Hey guys

toujours said...

the elephant...?

wasn't that a leftover of that moulin rouge phase he went through last summer?

toujours said...

hi there bc. :)

Original Punk J said...

What catalog?

toujours said...

did you notice that the gnome is never in the same part of the yard as it was the day before.

that freaks me out, man.

Amyranth said...

Hey BC!

Teej, I thought so too, except that the closet full of hooker boots went to Goodwill back in October, didn't it?

Amyranth said...

Guys, he's not a gnome, he's the part-time groundskeeper. His name is Jack.

However, it wouldn't hurt puberty to hit him a few more times...

Original Punk J said...

Hey BC!

The "Moulin Rouge" phase, I'd forgotten about that. How, I don't know; the poles are still installed in every bedroom in the Castle!

And just what would the elephant be deterring?

toujours said...

Guys, he's not a gnome, he's the part-time groundskeeper. His name is Jack.

oops.

Original Punk J said...

Oh thank you, BC. *hugs back* Logan is now in a beautiful place, both his spirit and his body. L's parents have a graveyard up near their house where they bury all the pets when they pass. Logan's under a big shade tree with a good view. :)

Amyranth said...

The important part J, is that he has a good view.

I turned my stripper pole into a scratching post for Lear. He likes it, and I walk into it less now that it's covered in three meters of carpet.

toujours said...

that's a good idea, amyranth! i put fake ivy on mine. it looks dumb, though. :/

Anonymous said...

Aww that's good J. And reading about him, I hope you know that it helps me appreciate my bunny more now than ever. Thank you :)

I hope L is doing okay too.

Wait wait, Amy, you have a stripper pole?!

Amyranth said...

LOL BC! Well, I call it the Six Foot Lion Tree now. Lear loves it.

Original Punk J said...

That's so great to hear, BC! Bunnies are really interesting animals. No one ever believes they have any kind of intelligence or sense of humor or likes and dislikes. But they're smart, complex little creatures.

Amy, view is EVERYthing. ;)

*ducks head* I covered my pole with different colored cloth streamers, glitter, and that plastic confetti you can buy at a party store.

What? It's pretty. So sue me.

Anonymous said...

J, I absolutely agree. My rabbit is pretty intelligent for an animal that doesn't reach my kneee :p

Aww Amy, well I hope Lear will enjoy that pole

Amyranth said...

*winks*

BC, Lear is the only pussy that pole has seen... ever!

toujours said...

glitter? whoa, very nice, j., very disco. :)

Mayo

So tonight since I wasn’t feeling like death warmed over Fred and I decided to continue our Halloween in July movie theme. Tonight’s horribly bad horror movie was titled “Ghost Watcher II”. No, I’ve never seen “Ghost Watcher I” and after viewing part 2 I have no desire to see the first installment. Holy crap, it was bad. So bad in fact that the gag reel was much better than the actual movie. I have a whole list of things I learned from the movie but due to lack of time I’ll just give you my favorite – Never IM with Ed666. Seriously, 666? Like we couldn’t see that one coming. Oh well, so many bad horror movies, so little time.

Anyway, I was wondering something today. It’s kinda off the wall but then when don’t my thoughts run that way? So say you were a truck driver. (Just go with this a minute). There you are out on the open road. Just you and your 18-wheeler crossing the land. Okay hold on a minute I just got a funny thought. It involved you and a chimpanzee. Mayo and the Bear. Okay, never mind that. I was wondering (and yeah this is obscure) what kind of air freshener would you have hanging from your mirror? Would it be a pine tree? The other day I saw a Sponge Bob one, that would be good. Or how about a nice Smiley Face? Oh and one more thing – would you have those nude girl silhouettes on your mud flaps? I’m not sure why any of this makes any difference but I just was wondering.

Well that’s enough wondering for me tonight. Hope you had a great day. Take care

Night Mayo

Elena (and would you wear a truckers hat?)

Lol, Lewis, don't worry, I won't, although I have read the synopsis for the rest of the episodes of season two, and it looks like it's going to be awesome. I have to say though, that the producers have been letting Eric get much more screening time this season than the first. I'm happy about that.

I just got done reading Dead to the World, so right now I'm finishing up reading Dead Until Dark, which is the first book in the series in case you haven't read it yet. I think that one is going to be one of my favorites in the series next to DTTW, and I have ordered the latest book Dead and Gone.

I know I'm getting my DVR set for tonight's new episode. I can't wait :)

Your mama don't dance and your daddy don't
Rock and roll
Your mama don't dance and your daddy don't
Rock and roll
But when evening comes around and it's time to
Hit the town
Where do you go - You gotta rock it

The old folks say that ya gotta end your date
By ten
But if you're out on a date don't you
Bring her home late cuz it's a sin
You know there's no excuse
You know you're gonna lose you never win
I'll say it again

And it's all because your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
Your mama don't dance and your daddy don't
Rock and roll
When evenin' rolls around and it's time to
Hit the town
Where do you go - To rock it, rock it

Everyone gather round let me tell you all
About it
You see I pulled into a drive-in and
I found a place to park
We hopped into the backseat where it's
Always nice and dark
I'm just about to move thinking to myself Mmm
Bret this is a breeze
Then there's a light in my eye and a guy says
Out of the car long hair
Oowee - You're coming with me
Said the local police

And it's all because your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
Your mama don't dance and your daddy don't
Rock and roll
When evenin' rolls around and it's time to
Hit the town
Where do you go - Play me a little C.C.

Your mama don't dance and your daddy don't
Rock and roll
Your mama don't dance and your daddy don't
Rock and roll
They just ain't cool and they ain't about to start
Your mama don't dance and you daddy don't rock

Your mama don't dance, no
She just don't dance, no
You mama don't dance
And you daddy don't rock and roll, oh no

Hello Mayo, SS, Amy, Elena, J and L, singers, dancers... everyone!!!!

How are you all tonight? Wonderful (or close to it), I hope!

I'm loving the new glittery dance floor! It's beautiful!!!

Which brings me to a perfect dance song!

Amy: May I have this dance?

~Since I don't think DJ Ashba is available right now~

Damn shame too!
;)

KOL anon: Again, what can I say other than THANK YOU! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Caleb is looking quite sassy these days. I love that sassiness!!! Almost as much as I love spunk.

So that's the name of the "bluesy" song. Lucifer/The Devil Song! I love that too! I was in awe of that one at JAZZ Fest! Heck, I was in awe of everything KOL at Jazz Fest!

Ergo: Welcome home!!!!

L: *huge hugs*

Elena: I'm glad you're feeling better!

Lewis: I'm so sorry to hear you had such a bad couple weeks. I hope things get much better for you (and Dave) very soon!

I'm sending extra licks to the both of you!

Right now, I need to find something to eat. I'm hungry! That's what I get for having dessert first.

Those brownies were delicious, anon. Thank you!!!

In case I don't make it back:
Have a great night, everyone!!!!

mayo,

this morning when i took the wheel of my sister's car, i realized that i was finally leaving behind the last part of the mouse that i had been.

it's not that the mouse didn't want to drive, it's just that the way i lived my life back then was hedged in by all these rules that we created without even meaning to, and once they were in place, they had the force of laws.

so i wasn't a driver. it just wasn't something i did or was ever going to do.

i can't live like that anymore -- it took a couple of big changes to happen for me to realize that life is all about change, and that if you aren't growing, you aren't living.

so when i turned the key in the ignition today, i didn't know if i was going to like driving -- after that horrible lesson a few years ago, who could tell? -- but in order to become the person i want to be, i needed to acquire this skill.

it's a bonus that it seems like i'm going to enjoy it. *grin*

but mostly, i'm so glad to see the last of that mouse, that tiny little person and her tiny little life.

don't imprison yourself in what you think you are, mayo. always be ready to learn something new, whether it's a new skill or something new about yourself. chase your own horizons, always.

but first, have a good night, yes?
*grin*

To the person who was bitching about OPJ wanting to step on SS with her stilettos.

Does it bother you that Kapunua is still stalking and "sexualizing" that guy from her karate? Does it bother you that she plasters him every where and throws herself onto him? That she acts like a cheap whore and talks about him like one too?

Or is it OK when she talks about her friends, if they are actually friends, like that. But when OPJ talks to her FRIEND, SS, about walking on him in stilletos, that is somehow bad?

That's what I call a double standard my friends.

Mayo

Well today I was the good daughter and hung out with my mom. Good news is she didn’t need cereal so we totally got to skip doing the Quest for the Cereal. Instead we went out to lunch and hit some local thrift stores and guess what I found? Go ahead guess…Okay you’ll never get it so I’ll just tell you. I found a small spinning wheel. And no, I’m not planning on spinning anything. I don’t knit, crochet or even sew. Well that’s not totally true I have sewn a few buttons in my day but to be honest they really didn’t look quite right, sorta all lop-sided. Anyway the point is I had not reason to want a spinning wheel except for the fact that it just looked really cool. I’ll have to talk a pic to show you but not tonight. The spinning wheel is still in the car. After unloading a bunch of books my back hurt so I left it there. I’m not sure what I will do with it but it will come to me, I’m sure. Maybe I’ll put it in the store window for a display. That’s a good idea. See, it called to me and there was a reason. (still haven’t figured out the huge abacus yet) Truthfully most of the furniture in my house is here because it just seemed like it should be, you know? I just go with that feeling I get when I see something. Now I have heard stories that sometimes items can come with an unwanted presence attached. Actually I have a good friend that knows first hand this can happen. The ghost hunter in my finds those stories fascinating. But that’s never happened to me. I’ve never brought a piece of furniture in my house that’s caused a problem. Well that’s not totally true. My hubby really had a problem with the 1950’s aqua sofa I bought when we lived in South Carolina. Man that piece was retro. It was huge and had wings. Seriously just like the 50’s cars. I loved it but he hated it because it was uncomfortable. It didn’t make the trip home to Kansas. But my camel top glass front bookcase did. I even know its history. I bought it from a man who lived in a huge plantation house near the Isle of Palms. He had mentioned he wanted to sell it but when I went to look at it he seemed reluctant to let it go. I found out he was selling it because he had sold the house and was moving to a much smaller place. He admitted it had been in his family for as long as anyone could remember but he said that after he was gone there was on one else left to pass it on to. He loved that bookcase and I understood. I told him that I would care for it and promised to keep it in my family. And so I have. It made the trip back to Kansas and it now sits in my house filled with some of my favorite books. And someday it will go to one of my daughters. I just hope that it will continue to be treasured.

Wow, I really hadn’t planned on telling you all that. I was just gonna tell you about the spinning wheel. Oh well at least I’m not musing about you being a truck driver tonight although I have to say Lewis made me laugh so fuckin’ hard with her thought about your mud flaps.

Well anyway, lets just move right on into the “Hope you had a good day and hope tomorrow is even better for ya" portion of the night. I miss you. Take care.

Hi Mayo, Hi SS! How have you guys been this many a day? Good, bad, indifferent? Nice summer weather or this ridiculous endless chill like we have here? Hope you're having a nice summer.

I got a job teaching Hula, and had a really great show this weekend.

To the anon at 1:46 AM, seriously? Don't you people ever sleep? First, I never said anything about stilettos; I don't' own a pair and can't even walk in them. Also, I would never, ever even suggest such a thing. I don't even know where you came up with that idea. The dude is my friend; we know each other, we talk and hang out and I happen to think he's cute. I still don't know why that bothers you so much. But, maybe you don't have friends of your own so possibly you don't understand.

Well anyway.

Also this summer, I've been writing a lot. I got back into it like I haven't done in a long time and it's been so satisfying, gratifying, and exciting. When the world you built is the one you can't wait to come home to at night, the the people who populate it are your secret lovers during the day.

Do either of you guys like to write fiction? Even if it's just for yourself?

So last night my friend came over and we watched this movie called Inkheart. I loved it on many levels (not the least of which was that it had both Brenden Fraser and Paul Bettany, two of the most beautiful men in the creation, AMIRITE?)

As a hack writer, I love the idea of characters coming to life. God, I'd give a lot to meet my characters, just like the writer in that movie. Oh, have you seen it? I don't want to give it away if you haven't. I mean, it was cheesy in some spots and there were places where we were going, "But why didn't they just..." But it was still fun.

Mayo, SS, if you guys could meet a fictional character, who would you choose to meet? What would you do with them?

Me, obviously I'd choose to meet my own because I'm a ho like that. But aside from that, I think I would pick Roland Deschain from the Gunslinger series. I'm not going to try to be all highbrow and be like, "Oh, yes I would totally choose to meet Hamlet or Mr. Rochester by golly," although that would be interesting and I do love those stories. Seriously, in wish-fulfillment fantasy it's all about self indulgence, right?

In which case, screw literature. I'd choose Sirius Black or Remus Lupin, or hell, even some of my favorite manga characters. Count D, Marron Glace, someone pretty and magical.

Could I pick a video game character who appeared in a manga? Like Cloud Strife? I think I could. In the movie, the power was in the written word.

(As it is in real life, too.)

If you could choose anyone then, who would you choose to jump out of the book half-covered in writing, and hang around in your world for a while?

Ummm, that was more or less an aside to my true purpose, which was just to come in and say, "Hi, I miss you guys, and I hope you are having a great summer."

Which sounds like a yearbook entry or something.

Welp! Catch you guys later. If you get some warm weather, light some tiki torches, have a pina colada, and jump in the pool while you can!

OPJ not walking on anyone said...

Just for the record...

I was dancing. I tripped. I scraped his leg with the heel. He's fine. I'm fine. The shoes are fine.

"Walk on him"? What the fuck?

You anons have no imagination. Or sense of humor, for that matter. Lighten up! Let it go! Laugh every once in a while! Don't take everything so seriously. BlogBelieve is for letting your imagination, your fantasies, your silly side, out to play.

Hey Elena, Ergo, and Mel-Anon! Good clips, those. Elena, your spinning wheel sounds nifty. Ergo, glad to hear you made it back safely.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day!
